hello, tumblr! welcome to my version of a rottmnt separated AU ✨ "life mission: save my brothers" ✨ where splinter managed to rescue only leo after the turtles have been mutated. raph was taken to big mama and was raised to become a battle nexus champion, mikey was taken by draxum and was trained to be a warrior to protect yokai and fight against humans, and donnie was thought to be dead but was actually taken by a tech mob and ran away when he was 7 only to meet big mama, who used his talent with tech to her advantage.

there will be a comic about this . 3 . it’s quite long help-

btw, donnie doesn’t know that other turtle mutants exist. big mama gave him goggles that prevented him to see them and was told to cover up his turtle-yness which is how he got to meet raph sometimes before they found out they were brothers. leo rescues them over the course of the story: first raph, then mikey, then donnie (after they found out he’s still alive).

One of the biggest things that makes me see Leo as trans is absolutely the size of his carapace in comparison to his brothers’.

And I’m not talking about height! I’m specifically looking at his shell here, because when you compare him to the others, particularly Donnie who is nearly the same height as Leo, it’s very clear that Leo’s carapace is much longer in proportion to the rest of his body.

Like - standing side by side, even though Donnie is shorter his carapace ends noticeably higher up than Leo’s does. And I like this not only because it really helps push the idea that Leo could very likely be trans (or intersex!), but it’s also just a fun design difference between them.

(It also lends way to future scenarios of Donnie eventually getting taller than Leo, but sitting down still has Leo being the taller one haha.)

Uhh, not spoilers, but just in case

Listen. It's a fine movie, but I'm very nitpicky when it comes to my interests. I was mostly underwhelmed throughout the entire things, and all the parts I was excited for were a bit disappointing.

That's not to say I didn't personally love it - seeing the animatronics were honestly a dream come true.. I just have troubles dealing with change to something I love I suppose.

I keep thinking about the latest chapter of Ghost in the Shell by @amevello-blue. Leo crawling in and snuggling with Ghost in the hammock made me so damn happy. I like to think that after that, on some of Ghost bad days Leo would quietly sneak in and just exist together.

Am I gonna write a story about 2012 Shredder being forced into being the Turtle's Uncle? Yes. Is it crack? Yes. Does that mean I sympathize or think Saki is a good person? No. I just want to write a silly little story that's insane if you compared it to canon. He's a bad guy, forever will be, and is a horrible person, but if I wanna write him being a reluctant Uncle I can.

Spoiler alert: He absolutely keeps everything they give him. But he's still 100% way too willing to kill his Nephews later, even if he seems to be nice to them when they are younger.

Thinking of possible angst moments as well. This is going to be so ridiculous I can't wait to pour my whole soul into it.
