I feel like the Primaris should have been the catalyst for like, an imperial civil war. At the very least, much unrest in the house of Guilliman. Their existence, let alone rollout/integration, should have had many chapters absolutely rioting. It should be beyond the pale by several orders of magnitude and be seen as an enormous overreach by the more autonomy loving chapters, a blasphemy by the more orthodox chapters, and an existential threat to chapters with geneseed quirks. Plus anyone with any awareness of the thunder warriors should take one look at them and recognize the writing on the wall. Guilliman should absolutely recognize what they represent, what they imply. Like they're the leading wave of a paradigm shift that doesn't bode well for what came before. And I say this as someone who's not averse to Primaris, I just think they could've, should've, been a waaaay bigger deal. I know they loathe changing the status quo and we're never getting rid of the posterboys but I think we missed out on something interesting.

Poker night with the farmer and the adventurers

Who would be good at poker?

I think Lance and Camilla would be the best since they would both keep a vague smiling face and it would be impossible to guess what they are thinking.

The farmer is also be surprisingly good at it since they will have a wide variety of expression that don't necessarily match with whatever cards they have.

Marlon and Gill are old adventurers who are very familiar with game nights among their peers and know their fair share of tricks (and cheats).

Isaac would suck at it since he's too easy to annoy.

Alesia and Jolyne are good at the game but prefer to watch others play.

Magnus is a joy killer who finds these types of game a waste of time.

Jadu probably prefers more complex and engaging table top games but gets outvoted every time and has to play card games with the rest of the players.

I really mean it when I say being tactically loud and aggressive is not something everyone can do, and not everyone who can do it will be able to do it all the time for a variety of reasons

But there are so many levels between that and saying nothing

At the birthday lunch I was at earlier this year, when this asshole said if a trans person were in his nephew's school he'd take a gun and shoot everyone, that was not the first thing he said

He'd been spewing conspiracy theory bullshit the entire time he'd been there—something everyone else engaged with like it was a normal conversation and not the stupidest, most thinly veiled antisemitic bullshit imaginable

And then he said that and none of the cis straight guys said anything, not even my friend who had actively invited me there and let me tell you, I don't think I was ever that scared in my life

And any of the other guests could have made that better by at least saying "That's an extreme reaction"

Not even outright disagreement or condemnation, just a basic reaction. And tbh sometimes when I think back on that day it makes me really angry
