I think the best decision this show made was writing all the protagonists to be 25% more unhinged. the worst decision hands down was hitting every antagonist with the sassy anime boy beam

tease tidbit tuesday 🫧
bet yall forgot i moonlight as a writer lmao
Buck, red-faced with his brows knit so close together they’re nearly one, snarls his lip in disgust. He doesn’t say anything and instead cups his palms around Abbie Jean’s elbows, pulling her carefully up out of the pool and passing her off to a paramedic. Once she’s wrapped in a blanket and shuttled off, he turns to stare back down at Eddie.
(Buck is so hot when he’s pissed off, holy shit.)
Eddie offers a smile. It isn’t received well.
Shaking his head, Buck reaches down and knots his hand in the front of Eddie’s t-shirt. He hauls Eddie all the way up and out of the water, and Eddie would be impressed and probably turned on if Buck didn’t look like he’s ready to tear the whole world apart.

Hey I just finished Hilda season 3 and I am forever changed.
I joke that I could write a thesis about some media but I could really truly talk for hours about how fucking good Hilda is.
It’s core strength, which tears at my heart and soul so earnestly, is that it is not just a story about child adventurer, but equally a story about the MOTHER of a child adventurer and it’s just so beautiful. So impactful.
I think Johanna may be one of my favorite characters… ever. I think she is Absolutey Incredible.
Season three was just so amazing, the whole series is. I beg y’all to watch it because it’s so so good and deserves all the love it can get.

@cleradinel made a post pointing out s3 mike's tiny baby teenage moustache and i immediately pictured this scenario. had to draw it.
split up version (in case that's easier for anyone to read) and some bonus headcanons under the cut
headcanons first:
yes, i gave mike braces. that was a spontaneous decision but i think s3 mike with braces would've been great. the first one of the party to actually grow facial hair that needs shaving (not just peach fuzz) would be lucas. the one with the best beard when they're older is dustin. mike never manages more than the goatee and moustache area, he's very disgruntled about this. will is able to grow facial hair just fine but the party don't realise this for literally years because he hates not being clean shaven, and because he's got the classic white boy problem of his beard being slightly ginger rather than matching his hair properly. jonathan teaches will how to shave, he also teaches dustin at the same time
i have a lot of male friends lmfao, these are all based on them lol.
individual panels of the comic:

Headcanon "deleted scene" from the Bad Batch finale because this is how I'm coping... Not my best writing but I'm still trying to get back into my best headspace so this is what I've got at the moment
Hunter: "Now we get to choose who we want to be."
Omega: "Like what?"
Hunter: "Whatever we want, kid. Whatever we want."
Omega [now leaning on Hunter's shoulder]: "I wish... I wish Tech could be here with us too."
Wrecker [glancing back at Omega as he tears up]: "Me too."
Hunter [with a small sigh]: "We all do."
Crosshair looks down, saying nothing - but if they could have seen his eyes, the regret would have said it all for him.
Omega [voice full of tears but still strong]: "But... it's like you said before, Hunter: Tech sacrificed himself, he gave us a chance, and we didn't waste it. And... he's happy for us. He knows we're all safe, and he's happy for us."
Hunter [hugging Omega]: "You've got that right."
Wrecker pats Batcher as the tears slide down his cheeks, but Omega's statement has brought a small smile to his face. Crosshair doesn't look up for a long time; Hunter notices, but knows it's not the right time to say anything - Crosshair will decide what he needs to do on his own.
Later, Crosshair goes to the archium. He can't cry - the aching emptiness is still far too deep for tears - and he momentarily thinks that facing Tantiss again was easier than this.
But Omega's words have finally started breaking down the near-impenetrable wall of guilt and regret.
Tech had given him a chance.
He will never, ever waste it.
He will not only stay with what remains of his family, but he will find a new purpose.
He reaches out to touch Tech's goggles - really acknowledging them and what they represent for the first time - and even though he finds he can't even speak, his mind and heart are full of just one feeling: "Thank you."
