After 10000 years I’m finally replying, Anon! Sorry for the long wait.

I’m excited to talk about Kalim/Jamil. I love them very much, and once again, this is one of those ships that I’d draw more if I had more brain capacity, free hands and free time… So to at least talking about them in a post feels great, thank you for your ask!

First of all, thank you so much for liking them and looking at our stuff both here and on twitter! <3 I’m very happy to hear that.

Second of all, well, Kalim is in a difficult situation lol He’s so used to Jamil always being there for him, he wouldn’t really even think that he has a crush on him for the longest time. That’s why, when it’s finally time for him to start a family of his own, and it feels weird and wrong, and he suddenly feels this strong and desperate longing towards Jamil, who isn’t available to him anymore, he’d finally start thinking about it. And then he’d realise that it’s too late, but he can’t do anything about his feelings either, they’re impossible to ignore now. Kalim is torn, conflicted and miserable. And Jamil… Jamil has to deal with it, let’s leave it at this for now.

Sooo headcanons! Oh, and these are about KaliJami in general, not about that comic we’ve talked about before.

Kalim is actually quite possessive of Jamil, but he might never get an opportunity to realise it. But theoretically, if Jamil was to serve someone else, take care of someone else or give more attention to someone else, Kalim would probably feel weirdly upset about it. He really doesn’t know just how much he’s used to Jamil always taking care of him, and how much he doesn’t want to actually share Jamil’s absolute attention with others.

Kalim is the king of unintentional mixed messages: he is so casually flirty that sometimes it’s difficult to figure out if he’s just being his usual charming Kalim self or actually tries to be flirty. Jamil just assumes that it’s never romantic with him, and with others, well, it doesn’t concern him. That’s a huge mistake…

That being said, Jamil would probably realise that Kalim has a crush on him before Kalim himself realises it. But would still try to ignore it for as long as he could. They won’t start dating unless Kalim makes the first move, and even then, Jamil’s first instinct would be to turn him down (and he would actually turn him down). “For Kalim’s own sake”. But Kalim is persistent and is horrible at suppressing his feelings and desires; he’s very spoiled by Jamil, after all.

Once they start dating, Kalim is going to become even more insufferable because he’ll instantly get 10 times more clingy. He is very physical and loving, it’s like he wants to constantly hug and kiss Jamil and rub his face against Jamil’s. Especially at first, during the honeymoon phase (although with Kalim the honeymoon phase never really ends, he wakes up every day and acts amazed and enamored with everything Jamil does). 

Because of that, Kailm’d find it super difficult to hide their relationships. He doesn’t even know why they have to hide it, but Jamil insisted on it, so he has to stay quiet. And it’s horrible, because Kalim wants nothing more than to shower Jamil with kisses while chatting with other people, hold his hands, casually touch him and talk about how much he loves him. And to brag around about how wonderful it is to be dating Jamil. Please, Kalim, just shut the fuck up…

Kalim would also be horrible about personal boundaries. Sometimes Jamil would find him in his bed in the morning, because yes, he is that clingy. Also quite capricious and pushy.

Jamil is the one who’d rationalise their relationship by thinking that everything that’s going on is just him obeying to Kalim’s whims once again, and that Kalim would probably get bored eventually and move on. Kalim, on the other hand, doesn’t think too far ahead, he’s too euphoric because of his feelings. Ironically, despite Jamil’s concerns about Kalim’s airheadness and kind of unhealthy nature of their relationships, Kalim’s feelings are pretty serious and much deeper than Jamil realises.

Not only Kalim does embarrassing romantic stuff all the time, he also says a lot of embarrassing romantic stuff all the time. And compliments Jamil’s appearance even more than he used to. Sometimes it feels like he just tries to make Jamil blush and get mad at him, but he really isn’t, he’s just that honest and that in love.

Kalim is obsessed with Jamil’s hair. During the day he tries to control himself and not touch it (Jamil told him not to several times), but during intimate moments he really can’t help himself. He grabs it, strokes it, smells and kisses it. Jamil finds it annoying, but since it’s done when both of them are quite aroused, he’ll complain about it later.

Kalim is the loud one during sex. He’s like… too loud. He’s horrible and holding back, which makes Jamil even more nervous than he already is. It’s a hot mess.

Okay I'll try my best with the summary hahaha just a few fun facts before I get to it: this was my #1 show for the past 4 years, until tlou rolled around, we are on our last stretch of episodes before saying goodbye (my heart is broken) and a word of warning: if you get into it, you will love it as much as you will hate it. This stupid beloved show of mine can be a real pain in the ass sometimes 😂

Okay, time for a summary. Or, in other words, let me paint you a picture of this found family without giving away any plot 😂

So at the beginning we have these four lovely people who all find each other just when they need it the most when their lives are at their lowest. They are DC superheroes (some on their way to becoming them) but the most important thing the show had always put focus on (more or less sometimes but we lived through it) is that team is family. The team grows over time and they learn how to be a team and fight evil together and all that but these four are the core of it.

So, on the left you have the kids: Gar Logan and Rachel Roth. If you're familiar with DC Comics in any capacity, you might know them as Beast Boy and Raven. Gar can shift into animals and Rachel is a daughter of a demon. Fun times with these two!

Then we have the parents: Dick Grayson and Kory Anders. Known as Robin, then Nightwing and Starfire.

Dick is a master detective with some sick martial art skills (trained by Batman himself) and Kory is an alien powerhouse Queen!

Leaders of the team. Heads of the family. Father and Mother who will do absolutely everything to protect their children.

They also have an epic love story going on, just so you know. Season 4 is really taking them places.

Now, when I started this show, I came here for some superhero fun. But I stayed because the pilot episode served me one of the best father-daughter duos I have ever seen. Think of Joel and Ellie's "if you're lost in the darkness, search for the light" but here it's almost LITERAL sometimes. Dick has metaphorical darkness in him and Rachel is the one who brings out the light for the first time. But Rachel has the literal darkness in her and Dick is the first person in her life who isn't afraid of it and helps her accept it as a part of her.

She has a dream about him before they even meet and when they do, she immediately knows. And he's scared shitless of this new attachment, he's dark, violent, has issues and he can't do family but here is this orphaned girl who knows things about him that she shouldn't and hell if his heart isn't beating a little faster.

This scene here, it has a grip on my throat since 2019 and isn't planning to let go. This is where it all begins.

As for the plot, each season is a different thing. Season 1 is protecting Rachel from her father, season 2 is trying to settle down as a team but ghosts of the past are making it difficult, season 3 is about sibling rivalry and how that can fuck up a family and a bit of generational trauma, and season 4 is all over the place with a giant prophecy, some big and small returns, magic and shit, but season 4 is when the family is finally the strongest!

13. what’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?

ooh I actually have to think about this one for a second, hang on

maybe using sensory details and actions to break up dialogue? Sometimes if I think there needs to be a moment between two lines of dialogue but I'm not actually giving the reader a chance to pause by using an emdash or an ellipses, I'll throw something in there to break it up. I have some examples from the damitim fic:

“You’re not talking?”  “No.” “Is that your call?”  Damian puts the teapot on the stove with slightly more force than required, flicking on the burner in the same fashion. “No,” he says flatly. 

okay yeah so in this bit I put that action with the teapot in there as a substitute for a line about Damian pausing, because "he paused" looked boring and felt wrong, so I gave him something to do in that time. This also uses the other bit of advice I posted about the other day about avoiding just saying how a character feels. The action I gave him tells you how he's feeling about it: he's frustrated. But also, he says no flatly, because he doesn't want his words to show that he cares.

Sometimes instead of an action I'll throw in a train of thought because like. If the character has time to notice a smell or to feel something, it creates the breathing room I need to emphasize the dialogue. like here:

“No, I fucking don’t! Damian,” Tim scoffs, as if he’s explaining this to a child, “I’ve been living with Ra’s Al Ghul for the last six years, do you honestly think that Bruce is going to trust me after that?”  And Damian hadn’t thought of that. Hadn’t thought of not trusting Tim, or forgiving him, for even a second.  He is not a fool. He does not think that Tim has spent six years lounging around like a prince in a castle, living in luxury.  That Tim spent six years there and kept his hands clean.  He pretends he does not feel like he’s begging.  “That does not mean you have to leave.”

the time it takes to get from the sentence to the response creates the feeling of the pause even though it's not written anywhere that there is a pause. It just feels like there was a pause while he processed that, and the dialogue is emphasized because of that. Honestly, this is probably the most common thing I do in editing. This actually might not be a common writing tip but I find it works for me and I already wrote all this out and I couldn't think of any common writing tips lol

I also don't love the whole 'the older one' 'the younger one' etc. thing, but that's more of a general writing pet peeve than in smut specifically. (It doesn't bother me if it's intentional and like. a kink that someone is leaning into? But it does bother me when it's clear that someone just didn't want to use names again)

ASDFDSADF I am sorry for showing up uninvited but oh my god that other asks speaks to me! I joined Eruri fandom in January and the whole "you are a fake Eruri if you love Levi more than Erwin" thing (someone posted several screenshots of Eruri shippers and blamed them for liking Levi more????) happened back in the first or second day of February so I was pretty new to Eruri and its fandom and it ruined my entire vibe because I'm not interested in fandom dramas I just want calm and nice fandom interactions. You probably understand me considering how I have never seen you involved in any shipping or fandom drama. Anyway, that really made me feel :/ about this ship and 2-3 days later I saw someone mocking OC shippers and L*vihan shippers "oh he's a gay man he'd not fuck you you can't call yourself a Levi stan if you don't ship him with Erwin" and I was only a baby Eruri, only for a month and I thought no matter how amazing the ship is the fandom was terrible but luckily I saw how the fandom reacted to that first tweet they were all joking about how they are fake eruris for random reasons and thank god I stayed around to see that because for me honestly Eruri is the best ship ever and I really enjoy all the fan arts and fanfics but that tweet still haunts me SDFGdsadf some people need to realize that Erwin's position didn't allow him to get close to anyone else and his deepest bond was with Levi so a huuuuge majority of Erwin stans ship Eruri while Levi is extremely popular especially in Japan and he interacts with other characters more and he's "shipping shaped"/perfect for shipping so I think his stans are often multishippers and that's why it seems like Eruri is an Erwin ship to that other person, there is no consipracy theory or anything, it's simple as that. I know some Eruri fans pick fights or argue with other Levi ships but my experience after that tweet was very calm and wholesome, I think it's because Eruri is a mature ship? Most Eruri shippers I see are adults. (Sorry if I sent this twice I am drunkish but I got excited because lol that was my first Eruri drama and I never saw anyone else mention it before) love your blog by the way lots of love <3

Ooh....right! This is actually starting to ring a bell now! I do remember seeing people posting the most hilarious shit about being fake Eruris, but I missed the original tweets that caused the whole drama in the first place. This is invariably what happens, I miss the actual drama and end up catching the tail end of the fall out which leaves me completely confused. Literally me when there is drama on the timeline 😂

Fandom, by its nature, attracts people who tend to be...a little obsessive (to put it mildly) and no fandom is immune to drama, no matter how old or supposedly mature the fans are. The Eruri fandom is no exception. However I do think that with an older fanbase there is a better chance that drama will be viewed more dimly and shut down more rapidly when it inevitably arises. This is a case in point. I have no idea if anyone took the original posts serious or not (I hope not) but the fandom was pretty quick to turn the whole thing into a joke and pour ridicule on the idea that you were a "fake Eruri" if blah blah blah.

Anyway, I'm so glad you didn't let this nonsense put you off the Eruri fandom Anon and I'm glad you stuck around to enjoy all the amazing fic and art that we've been blessed with over the years.

3. what is your Chinese takeout order?  Usually something very basic like sesame chicken. Usually with lo mein unless I actually like the fried rice from the place.

It has been SO good so far and I'm upset that I don't have as much free time as I used to have to read more but I'm making my way through it. So alternate first meeting? Slow burn? Whatever trope LRPD is - that.

16. Do you think s11 Mickey can still carry s11 Ian? I don't think so but I think that Mickey has tried. (I just thought of something so fucking sad about Ian being in a downswing and Mickey tries to carry him to bed but he realizes that he can't anymore and he gets mad at himself because he feels helpless. Fuck 😥)

17. who got custody of the killing bat when they sold the house? First person that I thought of was Carl but idk if that fits him anymore since he's a cop now. Ohh but I'll stick to that. I love everything Lupin except part 5 and 6. I usually only concentrate on stuff outside of these two and I post positively about them all the time and reblog all kinds of art, so I’m not prone to focusing on stuff I don’t like, but it does need to be said what some of the issues are for these two parts cuz what I dislike about them is sitting away just stewing in my head and it’s annoying me. If you’ve not seen these two parts then I suggest you watch it yourself and just decide for yourself if you like it or not. I don’t personally like part 6 cuz it’s too serious and everyone doesn’t act like themselves. Lack of focus on our main 5 for most of it too. I give examples: Lupin can’t figure out how technology work for some reason when he always is savvy on the latest tech for every series. Then with the fight against the little girl half his size. I’m expected to believe Lupin finds this girl an issue? Fujiko and I are grown women and we could grab her by her neck and toss her off that roof easily. Why’s Lupin struggling so much? He’s a burly, grown man who goes to the gym cuz he’s bored of waiting for Jigen to finish at the gym. 😂 Lupin almost lost to a scrawny girl. If the girl had been hitting the gym too, then maybe I wouldn’t find this so hilarious. Buff flower girl, could of been a thing. Maybe the blood loss is getting to him cuz part 1-4Lupin wouldn’t ever throw fists at a woman or little girl. He’d find a different way to deal with her without throwing hands, especially if she’s half his size in weight. Men can still do stuff when bleeding, I’ve seen men fight in real life over the last beer can or soccer teams and bleed and still use their full strength. . They cockteased the audience with Lupin’s heritage and then chickened out. Nobody really cared to know about his heritage in the first place for this series tbh. So I don’t know why they brought it up just to chicken out. It ends with the show going “Lupin is still Lupin. Where he comes from doesn’t matter”. Yea. I know already. I don’t need this ring around the rosy crap to prove what I know already. The creator Monkey punch always saw Lupin 3 as a mix of Loonie tunes, and Tom and Jerry. Things aren’t supposed to get this serious and boring.

(it feels like the tms team isn’t very good at long arcs. They should just go back to what they are good at which is episodic or get some people who do know how to do them. I didn’t like part 5’s ending cuz suddenly the villain changes his mind for no reason when he said to Ami the previous episode that he doesn’t give a fuck about her. Fujiko had left Lupin with Adeiu which is goodbye forever and then she questions if he loves her at all. Feels like I was gaslit as an audience cuz he literally moves mountains for her. It wouldn’t be a problem if I’ve not seen their history together completely, but it is cuz I know the history. Fujiko forced Lupin to reveal his face in front of people, and Lupin stupidly revealed himself when he never would of done that in past around people over feelings for somebody, he’d do it in a smarter way for Fujiko and his own wellbeing, the villain was literally talking about revealing his face to the world and suddenly changed his mind last second that he’s gonna be a good guy with zero hesitation, gonna conveniently not reveal the secret, felt like how an AI would write a human being, and I didn’t find it romantic or touching at all. Part 5 also made Fujiko into a whiny brat in the flashbacks when she was more composed and collected in previous parts. Part 5 added timelines and continuity as a massive plot point and it basically wrecked the timeline. Things don’t make sense when movies are supposed to be set).

dream job: oh man this is something i always flip flop on because i think if i ever made my hobbies a career i’d hate doing them (which is kind of what happened to me during art school) but i guess i would still love to work in the arts to some capacity. working for a gallery would be really neat, or doing restoration work would be incredible really. i also wouldn’t mind doing something with art history (although i’d have to get a masters and i really don’t think more schooling is for me right now). but man if someone would pay for me to do a huge research project for a documentary i’d be there so fast i love learning as much as i can about subjects i love

random fact: for all of grade 6 i had an uncontrollable twitch under my left eye. i think it might have been stress induced, but it would constantly twitch on and off all day 😂. as a result i can now move the muscle under my eye with ease

This was a fun little post that was going on around Twitter that I wanted to share here for those that follow me here. ✨

1. Accidentally Demonic. It is hands down my favorite fic of mine to read and write, and I only have 3 chapters out currently. Just based on the overall tone, what I've done so far, and what's to come based on my chapter maps/planning, I think it will be one of my best works ever. Y'all are really in for it.

2. Accidentally an Oiran is my most popular fic. The sheer amount of support, engagement, and interest will forever be mind-boggling to me. It was my first long fic, my first Akaren story I started, it brought me out of my shell and introduced me to all you amazing people within the KNY fandom. It will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm forever grateful for all of you that enjoy it. 🔥❄️

3. Breathe. It's weird, sad af, and wildly out of character, but I think we need more Senjuro-centered fics. I adore character studies, and a badass, dark version of Senjuro is just so fucking cool. I also think it's the most mature thing I've written as I try to characterize a tough, clever, slayer Senjuro who is fueled by grief and spite. I'm dying to get back to it so I can keep the plot going.

4. I am such a sap for the childhood friends to lovers trope in romance/erotica. I'm also into that weird, one-sided pining where the other is an idiot and doesn't realize their friend has always been in love with them until much later, then falls for the friend and it becomes mutual pining until one nuts up and finally confesses. Confusing slow burns have me in a chokehold. 😅🥲

5. Soulmates alternate universes are probably my least favorite trope to read or write. This likely stems from my own spiritual beliefs and ideas about the universe, more than anything else. Not bashing the idea at all, as it's adorably romantic, it's just not my favorite. Reincarnation alternate universe ideas are different, though. I'll fuck with a reincarnation au anytime. 😅

6. I have a longer fic idea that I want to do with either a slayer Akaza or Hakuji and Pillar Kyo, where Kyo gets turned into a demon at the beginning and Akaza/Hakuji has to fight to try and find a cure for him, or like a Tokyo Ghoul sort of scenario that rewrites Mugen Train to have Kyo survive from a makeshift transfusion of Akaza's blood and becoming a half-demon from it. (I really love demon Kyo ideas 🫣)

7. Accidentally an Oiran is my longest fanfic currently, but not my longest work ever. I write original fiction that's longer that is dark fantasy/horror and erotica with LGBTQ+ characters that I am currently editing and hoping to actually publish one day.

8. Snake Eyes, the Akaren Week mythology prompt, is currently my shortest fic.

9. My list of collaborations that I inwardly pine for consists of working with some of my favorite Akaren writers, but I'm far too nervous to ever initiate anything with anyone else. My faves are GremlinCat, Blueberrybagel, saigne, OllieWritesAll, GodlessOx, and BTS2016dia on AO3. I can dream, anyway. 😅🫣 That being said, all Akaren is good Akaren. I am always down to collab with anyone about anything Akaren at any time. This also goes for artists that are interested in me writing stories to go along with their art or comics. My DMs are literally always open to anyone. 😌

10. My most used tags are Kyojurou lives, porn with plot/feelings, and anal. I am a predictable man with fine tastes. 😂

gingersnap book is the oldest project I have that I'm still (sort of) working on (since...2015? 2016? i can't remember when Liam and Elliott first showed up). it's a little complicated for me because very early on, the characters started as like side OCs in a collab fic sort of thing with my ex, and then these characters developed more completely into their own thing until I took them out of the fandom world where they started and just made them their own story.

the world is just our world and the story is set in the general area of where I live. that might change, though, because one of the characters supposedly lives in his family's vacation house and no one has a vacation house here. then again, maybe he can just move, idk, I've been taking a break from working on the main story this year, so I haven't worked out a lot of the details around the setting/reasons why one of the main characters lives there. which also means that anything I tell you now is subject to change later.

the story follows Liam and Elliott, who had a long-term relationship, broke up, and then come back together through a series of unfortunate coincidences and events. the characters are all in their mid-20s (y'know, to reflect that i was in my mid-20s when I made them), and the whole story is kind of like an exploration of the mid-20s experience of "what the fuck am I doing with my life?"

since this is getting long, I'm putting the specific character info for the four main characters I think about under the cut

Liam: He's a manager at an upscale restaurant in the area, he's from London (I think) and he's...hm. Not very nice? He tries to be, and he's reliable, practical, and gets shit done, but he doesn't do feelings. He moved to [the fictional version of where I live] for school, where he met Elliott. He's really into theatre, and he prefers directing to acting (though he's quite capable at both).

Elliott: Elliott lives in western MA, and he went to school for art. He loves to draw and paint, and he works at a bookstore and as an art teacher. He's very opposite Liam in that he enjoys his alone time, but he'd much rather enjoy time with other people and he has no problem being likable and fitting in with others.

Will: He works with Liam at the restaurant, and he bounces between jobs to pay for his apartment and help his mom support/care for his younger siblings. He has a German shepherd named Milo, and he's kind of a work hard play hard type of person, where he works a LOT but he knows how to have a good time. He's involved with Jasper, but they both have their own commitment issues, so they're mostly friends with benefits who are inextricably connected.

Jasper: He's a bartender, and he's had a rough life. He met Will in high school and spent most of his time at Will's house, so he essentially integrated into their family until Will's dad died when they were in college (Will dropped out after that because he needed to work). And that's when Jasper kind of left the picture for a while, since he thought his struggles would make it worse for them. But Jasper himself is really sweet, super outgoing, and he's the kind of person that people naturally look after because he's such a disaster that everyone's like "should probably watch that guy." But he means well, and he loves Will despite his commitment issues.

The first thing you saw upon checking your phone midway through your workday was a short string of texts from a friend that had you worried. Checking the time, you gave notice to your assistant that you’d be in the office, walked inside, and locked the door. 

That evening as you stepped out of a cab and up the steps to your New York brownstone’s front door, nervous flutters grew in your stomach. Hanging up your coat, you caught smells and sounds coming from the kitchen along with idle whistling, which made you smile even now. Those flutters were still frequent under normal circumstances now that you got to come home to James Buchanan Barnes, reformed art thief. 

Well. Mostly reformed. 

Following the sounds, you spotted him standing at the stovetop with his back to you, wearing those perfectly fitted trousers you loved and a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow. Swoon. He hadn’t heard you yet so you allowed yourself to linger in the doorway, enjoying the view. You loved to watch him moved about the kitchen, drying his hands and throwing a dish towel over his shoulder. He spotted you then and you stepped forward, meeting him half way. 

“Hey, gorgeous,” Bucky grinned, pressing a kiss to your lips with an arm wrapped around your waist. The other hand still held a spatula. 

“Hi,” you replied, returning the smile. 

“Dinner’s about ready. Do you want to grab some glasses and pour the wine?” he asked, turning back to the stove. 

“Sure.” 

As you poured the wine and took a sip, Bucky dished out what looked like an amazing pasta dish, even adding a sprig of parsley for garnish. Your boyfriend had grown to enjoy cooking over the past year and you were the lucky taste tester. Setting the dishes on the dining table, Bucky pulled out your chair and you slipped into it, offering the second wine glass to him as he settled in the seat across from you. 

“Cheers, my love,” Bucky declared, clinking his glass against yours before taking a sip. 

“Mm. This looks incredible, Bucky. Thank you for dinner,” you said, reaching over to give his hand an affectionate squeeze. 

“Of course. I tried something new so I hope it turned out,” his lips tugged nervously as you both picked up your forks. “So, how was your day?” 

Giving yourself a moment, you took a bite and savored it. Moaning in pleasure, you gave Bucky a nod and swallowed. “Wow. Well done, handsome. So good. Today was, um…work was fine. I did get a strange text from a friend, though,” you began, taking another bite. 

Brow furrowed, Bucky reached for his wine. “Oh? Strange how?”

You shifted in your chair, twirling a forkful of pasta. “You remember my friend Wanda?”

“Sure,” he nodded. “Personal art shopper for…” 

“…Mr. Stark. That’s right. She’s been curating his collection for years and…”

You paused, reconsidering your tactic in conversation but Bucky noticed your hesitation.

Just thinking about Steve jumping across that ocean of fire just so that Bucky wouldn't stay and burn to death with him. Imagine if he didn't completely make it-- if Bucky had to grab him and pull him up, if he would have died were it not for Bucky. Would add that extra bit of pain to him not being able to reach Bucky on the train and before Bucky got dusted. (Not to mention Bucky jumping down to save Steve before he fully remembered Steve or himself)

He is definitely one of my favorite Steves. Definitely more Steve than he was during the Avengers movies. I think Nomad Steve might have been the most himself since he got the serum. He's flying around with his team in clear violation of the Accords, helping people and choosing his own missions, nobody telling him what to do 😤

The drama! the flair! the confidence! the panache! He could have let the spear fly over his shoulder but no he had to catch it in the most dramatic way. He might as well have added one of his signature flips 😂

I was thinking about the parallels between the two times in CATWS where Steve takes off his helmet when facing an opponent, and I found them interesting.

First he feels like he needs to prove something to Batroc, the pirate he's been ordered to apprehend. At his goading, he puts away his shield and takes his helmet off 🤦

My #1 post of 2022

Holy fuck no so true the only time bucky ever shows an ounce of displeasure with steve is at the gayest bar scene known to history . Also nothing will ever haunt me than getting out of the eg showing at 2 AM and having bucky half turn self deprecating smile to himself that screams “what did you expect , buck” after steve disappears on the platform like seared into my brain for eternity. You can tell the last ounce of hope he held onto vanishing. Like that whole scene he has hardly two lines but his fucking eyes tells a whole different story.

I will never forgive Endgame Steve and Marvel/Disney for putting that look on Bucky's face. Props to Sebastian Stan, he knew Bucky wouldn't have been happy about Steve going back in time for good. And he acted the shit out of this in the, what, 40 minutes he had to process that Steve and Bucky were going to be separated forever?

In the interview, Sebastian also confirmed ‘a conversation’ had occurred between the two brothers in arms prior to Captain America’s unexpected return to the past - hence their heartfelt goodbye in the film.

He said: ‘When I found out that we were doing that scene, which was probably about 40 minutes before it was filmed, I said “Look, don’t you think if this is really happening wouldn’t there be something more to be said?”

‘But then you know the producers were like “You guys have had that conversation, you’ve had that moment, you know what is going to happen and what Steve is doing”.

‘In the last interaction there is a lot of subtext which is like “Alright, here we are, you know, I’ll see you when I see you”.’

Like, the producers cared so little about Steve and Bucky's relationship-- the relationship that forged Steve into Captain America and carried these two characters through three movies-- that they didn't tell Bucky's actor that he would be separated from his best friend forever until forty minutes before filming. This was for Endgame, what was supposedly the capstone (pun unintended) movie for the MCU, their pièce de résistance.

Sebastian Stan had 40 minutes to devise Bucky's expression to show his feelings about Steve's departure, that he only showed once Steve had already left for his happily ever after.

He had to point out that Steve and Bucky would have had a bigger conversation, only to be told that they already had it. 

The disrespect that Marvel/Disney have for not only the actors, but the characters and their story, is breathtaking.

But anyway, yes-- Bucky was not happy about Steve going back in time, even if they discussed it prior to Steve leaving.

Look at this look he gives Steve before Steve says “Don’t do anything stupid before I get back.” He’s not asking Steve to stay in words, but his eyes say it all. Stay with me, don’t go. 

It does look like Bucky's resigned before Steve leaves but is trying his best, as always, to be happy for him.

I’ve been working hard on myself.

On my life.

The past year has been insane. Left my abuser, got thrown into a ton of crazy living situations and then finally found a spot that was close to the work I needed to do, close to public transit and with roommates that were kind and loving toward me.

Yes, there were a lot of drugs floating around and they threw frequent parties, but we were not a trap house and my room was on the opposite side of the house from their shenanigans, so I was able to maintain my own routines. Living in the middle of a rave focused household and social circle made the frequency of seeing it easy to ignore for me.

Someone made a comment that made us (all roomies except one were females) sound like sister wives or something and it really fucked with my mind. It seems as though the friend I was staying with portrayed it to be that way, but we were just regular roommates trying to survive the economy together.

I say all that to begin telling the story of how I got caught up in some MORE bullshit that I didn’t even start and am once again relocating and finding another job. 😂

Hold onto your tits:

SO. Gem & Jam weekend approached and I was brought along by the owner of an EDM collective (also the person I rented my room from) to help get camp set up, take care of our team & be a vibe checker. Along came his girlfriend Lindsay and a few artists that were meant to paint a mustang for an art installation.

Day 1:

We got to Gem & J and picked our campsite. Lindsay & I got the camp set up without anyone else’s help despite us asking for it. Come to find out, all four of the others started randomly tripping balls on LSD and literally spent the rest of the night in the owner’s mustang and stumbling around camp having bad trips when the weather got bad.

Meanwhile, I was having an amazing time, being the trippy rave fairy that I am. I decided to hang out at camp to ground myself later in the night and ended up taking care of 2 of the girls. One of them went into the festival by herself to separate herself from the energy.

Side note: the level of distress these girls were in were straight up MK Ultra levels of psychosis. It was insane. I had to redress them because they didn’t realize how cold they actually were and everything. 💔

Day 2:

The owner slept for the entire 24 hours.

The girls didn’t want to come back to our camp and stayed in a friend’s tent next to ours. One of the girls even went home that night because she was so exhausted and disheveled from the bad night she had and was visibly shaken.

Lindsay and I spent the day having an amazing time together, but were very exhausted from not getting help with setting up camp or making sure it didn’t fall apart in the storm the night before. I actually tapped out of raving around 10pm that night to rest and collect myself because of how much it all burnt me out.

There was a sweet dog though that came by for free smells when I was cooking and it made me vv happy. 🤍

Day 3:

I woke up early in the morning to make breakfast and green tea. The owner finally woke up around that time as well. He and I didn’t exchange more than a few words for the rest of the experience because I was disgusted and disappointed in his lack of professionalism and resourcefulness in a camping setting as he was extremely unhelpful in almost every way and I’d never experienced that treatment from him before.

At some point in my morning sequence, there was an eruption of yelling + threats directed at the guy who brought us coming from guy who owned the camp the girls moved to, who we’ll call Bill. :)

Bill and the owner had some of their own business dealings that suddenly were brought into focus by this falling out between them. The rest of the night played out with details of the things that happened the previous Friday trickling out for all to see. This becomes more relevant later.

Lindsay and I had to leave before everyone else because we both had work the next day, but the owner stayed behind. On the way back, that’s when she told me details of sexual misconduct being the reason for everyone fighting.

AFTER THE FEST:

This is when it gets even juicier, kids.

So… it was around lunch time that the owner followed us on the journey back home. Lindsay and I left at about 1am and were settled at home getting prepped for our jobs.

Owner got back and was in a state of covert distress, then said he had to run to the bank. 👀

It was THEN that I got a text saying that Bill demanded 30K to be paid back to him in cash, and for what?! I don’t know… pobably beanie babies or bulk orders of Hershey’s kisses. 😜

Anyway, we checked owner’s location and he was just driving in circles. I decided that in order for us to get the truth, us girls should go to the source of the text message since it was the only notification we had about the situation at all. I, for one, do not like being treated as a pawn in other people’s games and tend to take matters into my own hands when it comes to my safety/ wellbeing so OF COURSE, I left that hot spot and sought information.

After MUCH investigation, we found ourselves in Bill’s nest. Discussing details and determining the fact that we want nothing to do with any of their Hershey kiss quarrels. 😇 We thanked him for his hospitality and then kindly removed ourselves after what I’m about to say next had time to air out.

In the midst of this visit, the owner showed up at Bill’s house with the 30K cash in hand, but ended up losing more than that because after giving up the cash, he was forced to drop his backpack and lost the keys to his mustang as well. It was later stated that Lindsay’s life was secretly threatened as collateral while we were over there (despite not being treated that way during our visit and had the freedom to leave when we wanted to), an added reason for avoiding going back to our house.

So we left and found other places to stay for safety. The first time we went back to the house, Lindsay and I did it together because one of our roomies still has to stay there until she finds somewhere new, but also because she was able to tell us nobody had been back since any of us left, except for one visit from the owner before he went into hiding (I thought it odd he left his puppy behind but perhaps it was to keep her safe).

Days later, word got out about the owner’s desire to hold a Mexican Standoff… 🔫🤠

This made going home a thing to completely avoid.

At that point, I decided that I officially don’t need or want to have anything to do with anyone actively involved in this situation in its entirety.

As far as I know, the owner’s still in hiding. The girls and I are safe and doing okay. We’re all just picking up the pieces of this bomb being dropped on our lives. When I go back it will be with a proper escort.

Hi! I am obsessed w your art. I really like seeing these sketches that you have been posting from prompts recently - I find it interesting to see a bit of your initial sketch underneath (also they're amazing, I love all drawings of the two of them hugging). If you're comfortable doing so, could you talk a bit about your process? I've recently begun dipping my toes into digital art and would love any tips. I'm so amazed with you that it only took an hour to do the sketch w them kissing after work

Hi bud!! So hyped you’re getting into digital art—it’s such a fun medium, and there are loads of resources online for learning! I’m flattered that you came to me 🥺😳🥰 The doodles are a good way to practice, and I’ve definitely gotten faster and more accurate with more practice!!

Alright so we are gonna use this recent painting as an example! I do my paintings on Procreate (with an iPad and Apple Pencil) and find it really intuitive and easy to use! I also am a staunch supporter of using references, and a really good place to find them is Unsplash, because the images are free to use (although I do confess to practically living on tumblr and Pinterest, so you’ll probably run across my refs from time to time lol).

I start with a loose sketch using a chalk brush that my buddy imported for me (not a Procreate brush, sorry), then usually lower the opacity on that layer to add another more detailed sketch on top of that. In image 1, you’ll see Draco’s body starts out as just block shapes, and then gets a more defined sketch on top of that (in the same chalk brush, just much smaller). Then I go in with linework (image 2), using the Procreate Dry Ink brush (that I’ve modified to be a bit more streamlined).

I personally do my linework on a different layer for each thing, because I will go in and change the color of the linework to ~match~ whatever the object is. I find that it gives the whole painting a more cohesive look, but that might just be me! It usually means that I use about 35-40 layers for each painting, and frequently have to merge layers before I can keep painting 😂😂😂 I run out of space!!

Flat color comes next, which is best seen on the left side of image 3. Once that’s all blocked out, I’ll go in with shading (a clipping mask set to “multiply” is literally a gift from the Art Gods) and little details (meaning plants and knick knacks. I love knick knacks) Alpha lock and clipping masks are going to be your best friends, I swear to god.

The last step is usually fucking around with overlays and lighting. For this, all I can recommend is really just playing around with colors and opacity. I typically paint these??? Vague shapes??? And then Gaussian Blur them until it’s a soft overlay for the whole canvas, and then will set it to Multiply/Soft Light/Luminosity depending on the mood I’m in!! And then to add light beams and sometimes dust motes on an “Add” layer with like 30% opacity

Voilà my layers. These have already been combined a whole bunch of times (Draco’s body used to be 15 separate layers), but it helps to see kind of what is going on! The very last thing I do to a painting is to add a noise layer on top of everything, which adds a mild grainyness to the work! You only need like 4% noise for it to be a soft accent ❤️

The POV chooses me actually 😂 it's never really something I consciously decide? There's usually just someone whose inner dialogue I think we need to be hearing the most and that's usually the POV I slide to (which has also backfired on me before, because when I wrote the first chapter of the chokehold damitim fic it wasn't supposed to be damitim at all but being in Damian's perspective made me realize it had to be adkjfadsjkfl I'm gonna have to stay out of Damian's perspective in the jaytim version tbh)

The damitim fic is actually literally the only fic with unposted content that has the word blinks in it?? This is from the next chapter:

Tim looks up at him, rolls his eyes in a flash of green, and sighs, “Jesus, Damian. I’m an adult, I can cross the street without you holding my fucking hand.”  Damian blinks at him once, twice, and then he moves. He walks around Tim, leaving him in front of the bed, and feels Tim’s eyes on him as he makes his way to the microwave and pulls out his dinner.

25. What fic do you wish you got more of a response on?

What Are You Waiting For? Honestly I just love the way it flows and the writing, but also it isn't finished and I haven't updated it in like two months so I'm not really surprised lmao

26. Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

probably Non-Refundable Plans because the way it keeps bouncing from funny to serious and also all of the unhinged behavior from everyone all around 😂 I would make an argument for Rooftops and Bookshops because of the before and after, but I also hate the writing in that fic now. Seriously, it's one of my least favorite works now.

What I can tell you is that the fic that will be the wildest ride is Know Yourself. No doubt in my mind.

35. What is one essential thing to remember when writing a villain? 

The villain HAS TO HAVE A GOOD REASON FOR DOING WHAT THEY'RE DOING!!!! This is SO important to me. "Every villain is the hero of their own story" NO. NO THEY AREN'T. THEY DON'T NEED TO BE! SOME VILLAINS ARE TOTALLY FINE BEING THE VILLAIN AND I LOVE THAT FOR THEM!! IT'S ACTUALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE TROPES "YOU WANT ME TO BE THE BAD GUY? FINE." LIKE YESDSSSDDFSDFAJFJK AS LONG AS THEY CAN JUSTIFY THEIR ACTIONS TO THEMSELVES THAT IS A GOOD VILLAIN. WE JUST NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHY THEY'RE DOING WHAT THEY'RE DOING.

43. Do you take a sadistic joy in whumping your characters, or are you more the "If you hurt them I would kill everyone and then myself" kind of person?

Oh, I saw this question and was like "there's no way anyone doesn't know the answer to this." 😂 I whump them to death daily. I whump them for breakfast, I whump them at work, I whump them while I'm sleeping. I'm actually whumping them rn in my head tbh 💖 Sadistic joy. It's like a stim toy to me.

48. What do you look for in a beta?

Someone who's going to be honest! Point out my typos, tell me if phrasing is clunky or doesn't work, tell me if a CHUNK of writing isn't necessary and needs to go. I want to make it better. But it is also lovely to hear the things that work! I basically love a beta who points out the things they like just as much as the things they don't (which doesn't necessarily mean it has to be an even mix instead of one more than the other, I just think of it like an art critique)

76. Did you have any ideas that didn’t make the final cut of Get It Together, Boys? 

I wrote that fic in like three days aksdjflaks honestly not really? But looking back at it, I would've really liked to dig into their book club a little! It would've been fun to show some of their conversations about books.

1. Naenna honestly doesn't feel too strongly about her full name one way or the other. It's hers and no one else's, that's all that matters.

2. As a dalish, strangers often notice her valaslin first as they cover almost 3 quarters of her face. Then they would notice the strong, confident way they carry themselves and her steady gaze.

3. Honestly her personality is pretty much the same whether she's alone or with the group. She's usually stoic and doesn't feel the need to speak often, and conversations with her tend to be short and to the point. When she's alone though, she won't say a word!

4. This woman has has 2 crushes in her whole life, and she's acted the same way with both (once she comes to terms with it of course). When crushing she starts to, like, do reconnaissance on them? Just quietly observes them to find out their likes, their dislikes, and gift them to them whether directly or indirectly- all whilst gauging the other's own feelings for her. (In another life she would be a great investigator! 😂)

5. Good fucking luck trying to tell when she's lying or not- she has literally zero tells. Which makes her an absolute demon at Wicked Grace once she gets a hang of the rules.

6. Honestly had to think long and hard about this because I don't really think of particular smells when it comes to folks but I'd say other than her natural scent, leather and sword oil, you'd be able to every so often catch the sweet smell of mint- she secretly enjoys chewing on fresh mint leaves when she stumbles across it.

7. Naenna has 4c type hair which is such a dark brown it's practically black, and during the blight she keeps it shaved to the scalp. She starts to grow it out after the Blight however, like in her (gorgeous) art above!

8. Naenna has a few staple pieces of jewellery! She has 2 necklaces, her mother's heirloom which is a long necklace of small wooden beads all with different animals carefully carved around the surface and the darkspawn blood necklace that was given to her by Alistair at her Joining. She has a ironbark ring, given to her by Keeper Marethari before she had to leave the clan with Duncan and of course she has a small gold hoop earring in her left ear, given to her by Zevran.

9. She is a woman of few words, so they honestly don't have a particular phrase of word they overuse. If I had to stretch for an answer, I'd say they probably use 'fine' quite a bit? Especially if someone asks how she is!

10. Ooh I like this one! I'd say Naenna's weirdest quality is that she has freakishly good hearing! Like a fucking bat! Can't chat shit about her if she's around, she'll know. This does make it difficult for her to get to sleep sometimes however.

11. Am I biased when I say she looks amazing in any colour? Yes? Well she does. But if I had to pick, I'd say red. Whether it's a dark wine red or a bright strawberry red, she looks absolutely stunning.

12. Both platonically and romantically, the way she shows affection to those she loves is through acts of service. She'll quietly look after those she loves without even a blink, and her perceptiveness only hones her ability to find out what they need to feel better, like giving them some rations from her own pack, sharpening their weapons when they're too tired, amongst other things. With her lover, however, it includes more physical acts of service- shoulder rubs, brushing their hair, washing etc.

14. This is actually an uncomfortable topic of conversation for her- a clansmate admitted to her once that she was the spitting image of her mother, to an almost scary degree. Having never known her, or her father, and having nothing in her that reminded the clan of their beloved Keeper once deeply upset her growing up. However, unbeknownst to her, her laugh is just like her father's.

13. Naenna is comfortable with eye contact (very important when you're intimidating a bad guy) so honestly it depends on her conversation partner- but she's not someone who must have eye contact with her conversation partner.

15. Naenna's greatest strength is her iron will. She never cowers, never falters and never hesitates no matter what she faces. That will got her through some of the worst moments in her life. Her greatest flaw would be how she does not give second chances- once lost her good-will is lost forever and she cannot be moved on it, and she knows no mercy if it means protecting those she loves and the innocent.

16. Another one I had to think on, and I think one thing that stuck out to her growing up is that she noticed that she didn't experience sexual attraction to others in the same way others in her clan did. She's demisexual, and growing up the only one who she felt any feelings of sexual attraction to was Tamlen who she had fallen in love with romantically. This realisation changed her view on sexuality as a teen in a positive way, in that sexuality is diverse and can change from person to person.

I am so nervous to see what’s in this episode.. what if Klara kicks Ludde off the team because of his injury? We know they have scenes together this season. What if she thinks he would cost her money or is a liability? 🤔

1. Felicia’s saved name for Jack in her phone… sis why don’t you block his number??? Same as when she went off on Ludde in s2 about him liking her pics, girl BLOCK HIM!

2. Ludde just straight up said he’s quitting hockey… I didn’t expect it to end this way, clearly from my note above. I’m glad to see his friends being supportive and in a different light than they usually are. Aw this is sad lol

Felicia with the common sense and correcting her man on what full body autonomy means!!! She decides who the hell she wants to tell about what’s going on with her body. This boy is coming at the wrong one and it is pissing me off.

5. Felicia… girl how are you so smart and your grades so gutter?? My sister…

Ludde……… you know Felicia’s response was not about someone moving away for a year or so. You really think THIS is the way to get Felicia’s opinion on London? I can’t stand him right now. You turning something into what it isn’t, letting the whole class know y’all got marital issues...

15. What if when Michael found out Petra was still in love with Mats, Michael left? Felt like he couldn’t compete or whatever? If I was Petra, I would be probably in the mood to whoop Michael’s ass right about now.  Amie is not letting Petra explain anything. She just knows her as being over protective so it “has to make sense”. But baby girl, how did he even get your phone number??? Let’s start there.

16. Alva with this acting sis goo head girl!! This break up is so laughable though 😭 Ludde is breaking up with Felicia like he done found some coke she hid behind their picture frame or something?? He can’t communicate for SHIT! I guess Felicia was suppose to be some kind of mind reader?? This is just ridiculous 🤦🏾‍♀️. 

17. Oh this arrogant prick. The jealously of this guy right now. I swear if they don’t let Elias put actual hands on him, there will be a problem. This has to happen especially to someone deserving.
