You followed the directions of your phone and turned right into a street. A small box of cupcakes were sat at the passenger seat of your car as it filled the car with its vanilla scent.

Sharky texted you and said to come by at 12 but you felt nice all of a sudden and decided to come by early with the homemade cupcakes accompany you.

The boys didn't give you much information as to what they were doing today, they only said they were filming another Guess The Professional Footballer and that was it. You didn't think about it too much though because whatever the boys are planning its always going to come out a banger.

You put your phone in your pocket and walked to through the doors. Following Sharky's direction to their spot, you took your time glancing at the venue. It was an open space that leads to multiple football courts, some more bigger than the others and you were hoping the boys got a big venue for the Guess The Footballer video.

When you came close to the set you see a glimpse of someone you recognised and let out a breath of relief, "George!" you yelled out.

George turned his head at the voice and grinned, but for some reason it completely dropped. Now, you're confused. Why is everyone acting weird?

When you got to him you, you gave him a side hug as your other hand held the cupcakes. "Hey." you smiled. "Where are the others?"

George ever the sweetheart took the tray of cupcakes from your hand when he sees you struggling to hold it and answered, "They're getting mic'd up. I think we should wait before going in."

That made you furrow your eyebrows because you always sneak into their recording sessions without a problem but you understood either way.

You nodded your head, "Oh okay, let me put the cupcakes at the food table. Where is it by the way?"

George pointed the way, "Just around the corner. But before you leave—" before you could take back the tray, he sneakily (not really) took one of the sweets, "Thanks, Y/N. You're the absolute best!" he gave you a smile which make you chuckle.

You exchanged smiles with some of the camera and production crew, some were new and some aren't as you introduced yourself to them.

When you were at the table, your phone dinged as Niko's name flashed on the lock screen.

Multiple voices screamed your name. You turned your head only to be met with five familiar faces.

When you heard the sounds of footsteps running from behind you, you were more than thankful for the intrusion.

“Oh, hey.” you breathed out, still trying to calm your heart beat down knowing that Trent was hovering beside you.

“Damn it.” Chunkz was the first to say after they regained their breaths.

Niko slapped Sharky’s back, making him wince, “We told you to be in charge of her location!”

Sharky’s mouth gaped open, “I was! She suddenly decided to come early!”

“Damn.”

You looked at the boys weirdly, “What’s going on?” taking a few steps towards them, “And why didn’t you tell me your professional footballer was Trent?!” you harshly whispered. There was no need tho, Trent heard everything.

Kenny stepped beside you, “It was supposed to be a surprise.”

“Surprise!” AJ cheerly exclaimed.

Shaking your head, you sent the boys a small smile, “Thank you, guys.”

Trent was silent the whole time this went down, which made you avert your eyes to him. Only to be surprised when his eyes were already on yours.

“Hi.” you softly muttered, hand shyly waving at him.

“Hey.” Trent sent you shy smile as well, your finished cupcake wrapper in his left hand as he extends his right, “Nice to meet you, I’m Trent.”

You introduced yourself, as your hand went to shake his. You could physically melt when his skin touched yours. This doesn’t feel real.

The boys looked back and forth between you both as they send knowing looks to each other when they noticed your lingering eyes and hands and how it was longer than necessary contact. What’s happening? Maybe this wasn’t a fail after all?

“Alright, then.” Niko cleared his throat, “We need to get filming.”

You nodded your head, deciding to walk beside Sharky and AJ.

“So?” AJ asked, looking at you with a questioning look.

“I am freaking out.” you whispered, hands clasping on Sharky’s hoodie.

They both laughed at your ‘trying to keep cool’ reaction.

You build up the courage to glance at Trent. He was talking to Chunkz, his side profile glowing with his dimples showing and you could feel your face became warm, and your sweaty hands where you both touched.

What the fuck is wrong with you. Stop looking. He’s gonna think you’re weird.

Trent turned his head, when he felt someone was looking at him. Your eyes widen when he looked at you, before swiftly looking away. Cute, Trent thought. Very pretty.

At first he brought you along only because he found you useful. But then, when he was able to clear more and more scenarios with you, he started to develop these 'strange feelings' he calls them.

Being a vampire was a struggle for you. After all, there were so many people around you, it was hard to resist. you usually drank animal blood from the nearby butcher, but when the apocalypse hit, you lost your supply. But when you met him, Yoo Joonghyuk, everything changed.

Blood is like wine. The more it ages, the better it tastes. So, as a regressor, Yoo Joonghyuk's blood was amazing. Of course, he killed you the first few times he met you, but started warming up.

Now, as the relationship developed, and when you two started dating after, what, 7 regressions? Well, he realized it was hard for you to join him completing scenarios with your weakness of the sun.

"There's someone very dear to me who needs a rather special coat...I know you don't really do commissions but-" The Mass Production Maker laughed an old hearty laugh. He was right, too. Because when you saw him there on your doorstep, you didn't even think twice about it. He probably didn't predict that reaction, but was he complaining? Not in the slightest.

His hands went around you, and he pulled you in. He kissed you hard, and you could taste his blood and feel the coldness of his body. You knew you needed to get him out of the rain, so you pushed him into your house and locked the door behind you.

Zima, however, feels perfect to act as another poet for Sonetto to befriend and a mentor to slowly introduce her to more open ideologies

Heyy!! I've noticed in your spicy audios you don't really tend to use SFX and barely use it all? Is there a particular reason behind it or something? very curious

A few factors are involved.

First off, a preface of saying it's been a lot more common and frequent more recently because now that I'm medicated it's feels a lot less like work to add at least some squishy noises. That's going to be a recurring theme moving forward.

The straightforward answer? It's a huge pain in the ass to make it sound good and there's a big fuckin difference between a ~1 minute clip with a full suite of sounds and a 10+ minute audio. If there are folks out there producing that level of intricate audio smut regularly, without a sound designer, good on em. Making a convincing and accessible AMBIGUOUS fuck scene with sfx and the like is a challenge and I don't often feel equipped to tackle it. Plus, I've been pretty damn successful without doing all that...so, that hasn't exactly felt like a huge flaw or missing piece.

Now, meaty plaps and squishy fuck sounds is pretty easy and is something I'm doing regularly now vs only on occasions. So I'm excited for that.

Then the deeper answer that applies in some cases is that I like the idea of the literal listener making their OWN accompanying noises. There's a sort of fine balance between immersion and immersing someone in an experience that doesn't quite match their own needs or expectations and takes them out of it. There's no one size fits all solution.

So that has always factored in heavily with my consideration. There are some times where specific sounds feel logical and it definitely enhances the experience.

There's certainly room for more that falls into my specific wheelhouse, which I feel much more capable of adding to my workload now.

Also, funny enough, I've actually been exploring some spicy SFX packs to do some more intricate scenes that lean more heavily into them. Or at least do a special series of shorter audios with higher production just for fun.

Sort of a if it ain't broke don't fix it situation in the end, but I am eager to step things up more and more as I'm feeling more capable and willing. It can't really be overstated how much of my content was created by dragging myself to the both and fighting myself just to get shot done. "I am mentally ill" isn't a very satisfying explanation but uh, in retrospect, it was pretty fucking hard to accomplish much of anything without holding myself hostage and bargaining until I overcame every instance of procrastination. So, under those circumstances, you'll have to forgive me for not wanting to break out the lube and fingerfuck my fist before hitting the post button. Lmfao

Jay- Grian, it made the most sense in my head, but I actually flip flopped on this so many times bc he also works so well as Tim or Alex, but at some point I went "wait it's an au, we can see how the story changes with Grian as the protag" so Grian's the protag now

Tim/Masky- Scar, I'm a transparent desert duo enjoyer and had a similar flip flop with him as I did Grian bc he'd also work as Jay but I was halfway through that drawing and had a similar thought process to the one i had abt Grian

Brian/Hoodie- Jimmy, I wanted to keep the cast focused to life series and evo members and he made the most sense to me lore wise, especially with the idea that in this au he was one of the ones with the earliest exposure to The Watcher (bc I love Canary Curse symbolism)

Alex- This one was the toughest choice bc no matter what a fav is going to loose it. Good thing this based on the Life Series! As much as I Love the idea of Joel and Lizzie as Alex and Amy, I actually went with Martyn. Again, the character is pretty involved with the Watcher Lore so it made the most sense as the character that is arguably most effected by it. (Although for a brief moment I considered Mumbo Jumbo bc,,, how fucking funny would that be)

Jessica- Jessica's gotta be Pearl right? It makes the most sense for it to be Pearl, I don't even need reasoning for this it makes sense

Amy- So who's Amy then? Scott actually! He's not Martyn's boyfriend in this, he's just a really good friend of his who was super involved in the production. Also like in mh, he's Pearl's roommate.

Sarah- Ren. Can't have a life series au featuring desert duo and not have some renchanting. Who else would be one of the leading actors in Martyn's short film?

Seth- Big B, again Evo connection made sense to me, and depending on your own personal theory on who the third person running the totheark account is, both Big B and Ren have interesting implications, even if both their rolls are p minor in this au

It's set in a kind of nebulous time frame that's probably a little closer to present day, but it does still start with a student film project. When asked Why Martyn chose to use tapes he says something about wanting a more authentic feel to the film but in reality he just thought using tapes was a cool idea and doesn't want to admit that it's kind of impractical now.

In this au Scar doesn't smoke, but instead I like the headcannon that he just has boxes of candy/bubblegum cigarettes on him at all times. He'll pull one out, pause, and offer one to someone and when they say no he's just like "Okay, your loss" and watch as they get all confused when he starts unwrapping it asdfghkgkdjhfjsh

Is Grian gay in this au? Whose to say. (Real answer tho, I'm a notorious Jam shipper and while I'm not an active shipper when it comes to hermitcraft or the life series, I don't really mind it so the relationship is left kind of ambiguous)

some of my thoughts on season 4 (possible spoilers ahead also wall of text ahead LMFAO)

it was a pretty good season, but even if it wasn't i was gonna watch it anyway. theres def things i would've done different. i feel like nothing was really done? like it felt like nothing happened but lots happened at the same time.

i would've liked to have seen more of the boys mainly, i feel like we never saw them!!! i wish hughie was less of a punching bag with no real conclusion, like let the guy breathe. the stuff with frenchie and colin was alright, but i think frenchie could have come to the self realisation on his own without needing someone as the catalyst? after the tekknight episode its like everything from the first few episodes were just put on the back burner and forgotten about. there was a lot of stuff that could've been developed but weren't. maybe in season 5 we'll get more answers to things but thats just what i'm hoping. like what was going on with annie's powers? hello? cate and sam from gen v were just....there? idk i haven't really watched gen v tbf but they just appeared, stood around, vanished then came back briefly for the finale. also just the tekknight episode. what did we gain other than shock value? and the fact they killed tekknight off so fast too felt so lacklustered. there could've been so much done with his character but there was nothing. the episode itself felt aimless really, and it could've been condensed into half the episode it was instead of the full hour. i would've been more effective if things were more so implied instead of shown outright for the le weird freaky shock value, and that would've cut so much time. it just wasn't funny???? made me roll my eyes a lot like we get it, we don't need to see all this. also neuman's death??? i was so mad. i did like some things though were the storylines involving MM. he's been a fav of mine since the start and i think everything that was going on with him made a lot of sense. i did like as well the brief (and i mean extremely brief) glimpses into hughie and annie's relationship and how its developed over the years. sage and firecracker were interesting, mainly sage since i feel like we didn't see that much of firecracker other than her being like a starlight hating past groomer who is obsessed with homelander. sage was fun, i liked a lot of her scenes. again though, i felt like there just wasn't enough. in the past seasons when a new character is introduced by the end of the season we know them pretty well and have a good understanding of them, but this season it felt like we didn't really get to see anything. maybe thats just me.

overall it was a good season. i did enjoy it like usual there were just things i wish were different. now to ramble about production because i'm a lame little film student. from a production standpoint it was very strong, like the other seasons. the effects were great, i do love the practical effects used in the show. good soundtrack, great costume design on the new characters. everything looked great. as someone who wants to specialise in production design i always love the effort put into the set design of the show, and i feel exactly the same about it this season.

i just really hope that season 5 wraps everything up, since season 4 felt like it was just an introduction of the 5th season. these are just my thoughts of course and i've probably forgotten a lot, let me know what you think.

Glad someone acknowledges that what Mabel did is morally reprehensible, and what bothers me is people defend it by saying "she's 12". I mean idk about ya'll but when I was 12 I wasn't risking my family's lives to a nightmare demon for a dude, I was doing my fuckin homework lmfao.

I love Gravity Falls to death but the way they turned Mabel from a silly kid to an actual horrible person speaks to how badly the writers can't write female characters to save their pissholes, and fans defending that shit annoy me to no end. They do the exact same thing when the fucked up shit Princess Bubblegum did is brought up

I’m gonna co-opt this ask because this lets me talk about two things regarding criticism that I find really interesting in the internet world-that being “perception of wrongness” and “heart moments”.

Perception of Wrongness:

I can actually understand why people had a hard time calling Mabel poorly written by the end of series, because this is a trend that happens a lot when talking about media criticism as a whole, and it is the subconscious concern that one is going to be perceived as morally wrong for taking umbrage with a character or product that concerns a well poisoned topic.

Mabel is a girl. And because Mabel is a girl, there was no shortage of bad faith arguments regarding Mabel from episode 1 on as being anything from obnoxious to a Mary Sue to an actively bad person (before doing anything that one could call actually wrong).

So, when a fandom space is poisoned by arguments that boil down to “Mabel is a girl and I hate women”, people have a tendency to overcorrect in the other direction and decide that the character is without flaw.

You actually see this a lot with the infamous movie “Fight Club”, which garnered a fanbase of pathetic Andrew Tate wannabes slobbering on Tyler Durden’s knob. So now if someone (especially a guy) says they like the movie most peoples reaction is immediate disgust even though the movie itself is a blatant critique on toxic masculinity based on a book written by a gay man inspired by a hate crime he was a victim of. Well poisoned arguments made the thing poison, so anyone who touches it must be a poisoner. You don’t want to be perceived as condoning the the former-perceived as morally wrong.

I myself had issues with this actually, leading up to Nathan and I watching through the MCU I had an instinctive reaction to be disdainful of his opinion that Captain Marvel was a bad film even though I know Nathan is one of the most “girl movie” positive people on the planet. When we talked about the movie as we watched it it became clear that the problem was that Carol didn’t get to be a cool superhero because they spent so much of the movie proving she “deserved” a spot in the MCU when none of the other heroes needing such proof. Which I agreed with!

It’s hard to untrained yourself from internet discourse brain, but you’ll be better for the trouble if you do so.

On the other side of the creator/consumer spectrum!

Heart Moments:

Creators love the things they make. That is an obvious and redundant statement. But the love of that creation goes through a lot of changes. We’ve talked before about how creators will often insert characters from early drafts of projects into the final product even if the product doesn’t fit with them anymore (see Hunter from TOH), but we don’t talk as much about a similar phenomenon wherein a creator has a burst of inspiration and they can see so perfectly a moment in time for their art that rests heavy on their heart.

This moment could be a cool shot, an impressive piece of cinematography or animation, an actor giving a specific delivery, or a line you want more than anything. But as you write that moment is no longer viable. It doesn’t fit with the greater piece or writes a character out of character.

This is what happened with Mabel in Sock Opera. Alex saw the ability to have Bill say a line about siblings and sacrifice, which would allow one of the twins to say a big line that when the Stan twist was revealed everyone would go “OHHHHH SHIT SO WHEN HE ASKED WHY SOMEONE WOULD SACRIFICE EVERYTHING FOR A SIBLING AND SHE SAID DIPPER WOULD IT WAS ACTUALLY A PARALLEL AND-“. Mabel and the ramifications of the scene to make that heart moment realized were disregarded in its addition.

I actually noticed this for the first time in a Rooster Teeth show I’m fond of called “Camp Camp”. In the 4th season, fan darling David has a solo adventure in “The Forest” where he’s lost in the woods and struggles to survive leading to a nervous breakdown wherein he near kills a wolf, decides against it, and learns a lesson about the importance of kindness in the face of misery.

Problem being that if you know the show at all, David is literally the worst person to do this episode with. David is not only a skilled and experienced outdoorsman who made it his life goal to become a camp counselor as a child and loves the woods, but he’s also the only character who’s primary trait in unrepentant kindness to anyone no matter the cost. To the point that it’s actually his largest vice as it gets him and his loved ones in dangerous situations.

But nobody cared because David has a breakdown was something that looked good in gif sets. It was an episode built around a “Heart Moment”-this one being everyone’s favorite blorbo screaming and crying while emotionally collapsing. And that was a Rooster Teeth cartoon that’s messy as hell-Gravity Falls is groundbreaking shit! But both still suffered at the same root issue.

It’s hard to let go of the scenes on your heart. When the thing you’re creating means so much to you, and that part of it rests on your heart so heavy, it’s hard to bring yourself to remove the latter. But you have to ask if the character you worked so hard to bring to life is worth potentially sacrificing to get that one moment off your heart.

been having some thinky thoughts today, and for a while, rly, abt my Feelings abt breathing underwater and i tried to type something up on twitter but that jsut was not letting me think my thoughts correctly

i love BU........... so goddamn much. it started out as nothing more than a silly idea abt little mermaid ed meeting stede and kind of ballooned into what ive built it up into today. it's so important to me... but it's making me a little miserable right now?

miserable because i dont want to work on it, but i WANT TO want to work on it, i want to tell this story and read the finished product, ive got so many ideas, but i just. cannot get myself to do the actual WORK of making sentences and then staging all the pics........... what used to be a fun little pastime now feels like a chore, an obligation, a compulsion almost. it sucks, but it sucks more NOT doing it, you know what i mean? idk.

i know ive built it up into this big THING to myself, like... idk, i do this so often, i have big ideas and love to plan and organize them and then i get going with such intensity until i abruptly fizzle out. i start things and dont finish them, and i guess i just rly dont want this to be another thing that gets thrown on my unfinished projects pile :/

i have the next 2 parts drafted, but every time i go back to poke at them and edit them i just get so disheartened because it's obvious that my heart wasn't really in writing them, and it's difficult to salvage a rough draft like that. part of me wants to just delete those parts entirely and say fuck it im taking an indefinite hiatus, and i will start fresh when this is fun again! which would probably be the best thing, actually, but... i am reluctant to do that, because i just dont have anything else to rly fill my time rn.

i havent been getting a lot of joy out of... anything, rly, for a long time now, im so bored and apathetic and even my normal go to things arent cutting it anymore. and idk if it's a depression thing or if im truly outgrowing some interests, but either way i know i need to get more Things in my life somehow, because writing and sims are my two biggest pastimes, and then i combined them, and then i got sick of both so ive got so little to go on! so i keep poking at the things that i used to love, hoping to find that spark again 😪 i love these little guys and their little world!!! and it makes me sad that im not actually having Fun with the PROCESS.

ok im gonna complain abt my adhd meds

so im on vyvanse and i’ve tried like every stimulant under the sun and unfortunately none of them work that well for me so i just gave up and started taking vyvanse which was the last one i tried on a very long list and it makes me so full of vigor and excitement for life and i wanna be so productive for like the first 2 hours after i take it and then i feel myself crashing and like getting into my existential dread bag and i just get this anxious pit in my stomach and its terrible i really wish i didnt need medication to function, cause it just makes me so depressed for a significant portion of the day but without it i will just lay in bed and do nothing but idk

and also cw for mentions of suppressed hunger/food stuff/weight fluctuation PLS don’t read if that’s not good for u, i am by no means promoting unhealthy eating habits but just ranting abt my own that i have no control over and would not wish upon anyone lol

it also fucks with my appetite a lot and like all stimulants do but it just makes me really really anxious in general but then the added anxiety of reaching the end of the day and being like i know i’ve had nowhere near enough calories today and that is scary cause i literally need calories to be alive lmfao but like i just can’t stomach anything and like being aware that im starvinf myself and feeling so powerless to do anything about it bc food makes me genuinely gag sometimes when i take it is not a good feeling at all!!! and like i can feel my pulse in my whole entire body and my heart is beating so fast its just terrible and there’s nothing i can do bc without it im nonfunctional and will do nothing with my life!! and ny weight fluctuated so drastically throughout high school that now im really hyper sensitive to weight/body changes and I don’t own a scale or anything but I just get so paranoid about gaining/losing weight, i just don’t wanna go through all that again, and it sucks to have the most all or nothing eating habits I hate it

and i also have pots so like i pass out when i stand up enough as it is i cant afford to not be eating as well😭

idk where this idea came from but I have a headcannon that the TV in the rec room is just lowkey the worst. Old, slow, and the base is out in the middle of nowhere so it limits a lot of their TV options.

Don't have streaming because it requires a payment/subscription and something about not being able to hook it up to an account/being on a military base/not safe to have clues to their money or personal lives (I know nothing about the military forgive me). They do have cable but because their base is in the middle of buttfuck nowhere they get only the strangest, most low-production channels out there.

I saw a youtube video a while ago about a British reality TV show where a female contestant is shown a bunch of dicks, nothing else, and she has to decide who she'd want to go out with based on that alone 😂😂 it was completely uncensored, so dicks would just be fully hanging out there. that's the type of shit that they get on the cable in the rec room LMFAO

feel like the only option for personalized TV/movies is the old DVD player hooked up to the TV (that was there when they moved into the place 😭) so the boys constantly have a collection of DVDs they're always rewatching, or they buy new ones/ship them in when there's something new they want to watch

I'm the type of person who will watch bad movies or reality TV shows just so I can giggle at them, so I FULLY believe that the pack would find some shitty knock-off reality TV show and lock in to watch the new episode every week together

if the boys and/or 'mega ever want to watch something popular/that would usually be on streaming they just have to get it off some backstreet website or something like that (they have burner laptops specifically for this purpose)

I own The Last Of Us (it came with my PS4 when I bought it four years ago) but I still haven't played it because I suck at playing games lol. I either play all the way through at once or I play for an hour and then turn it off and don't touch it for months lol. Same even with the Sims. I go through cycles of playing for hours everyday and then not touching it for weeks and weeks.

No but like that idea would be so true lmaoo. Just an old fuzzy TV that has no streaming capabilities. They have a very vast collection of DVDs (organized by Simon of course) which is how they keep themselves sane lmao. They get like ten channels and flip between sports and daytime TV and game shows 😂 it's a routine now, sitting and watching some random game show at night.

Hey, they break a lot of laws already, what's the shame in playing pirates? 😉
