13 and some are multi-chapter. All are BG3 except for a german Inkheart one

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

85.408 -that is a surprising amount of words for being active less than a year

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I appreciate every single comment and try to show that. There's nothing better than the e-mail that says "comment on your work" and it can make my whole day. Sometimes I don't know what to respond if it's just a word or a keybord smash, but rest assured I see you and I love every one of those, too.

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Angsty ending hmmmm. Because some of my stuff is not completed yet I am not gonna spoil anything but Dust and ash about Astarion's backstory was naturally quite angsty

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Not. gonna. spoil XD

7. Do you write crossovers?

Not yet. Maybe I could count Copper hearts because I took Francys from my original work and planted him into Bg3

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

No, not yet.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do. I am exploring all kinds atm with preferably queer pairings wlw or mlm or nb. I can also write mlw from the men's perspective but not the other way round :D

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not as far as I know.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Boy I wish.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No and I am not sure if I could commit to a project like that.

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Hmmmmm ... Raphlep probably

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

My german Inkheart fic with a genderbent lesbian Basta. Damn I was invested in creating this character, but gave up after a while because it was a lot of work and it being german and a niche topic in a small fandom was not very rewarding tbh. I know I should not care and maybe I'll come back to it when the Inkheart obsession comes over me again.

15. What are your writing strengths?

I am good at setting the scene. Atmosphere and small mundane details that make the setting feel alive. I have always liked that in reading as in writing, because it makes you feel like you are actually there when you can hear and smell and taste the scene.

Also I am okay at developing coherent plot, but that's mainly practice from writing a lot of og work before I started with fics.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

I still struggle with english grammar and punctuation at times so I always have a beta reader. And I am lucky to have great ones.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I am not a fan. It confuses me. Singular phrases and such yes, but not entire dialogue. Especially if it's german in an english fic I get super confused.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

*digs through her files* So, my first works were basically fic for my best friend's story. (I was in my early teens.) But since she was the author the lines between canon and fic are blurry and the "fandom" consisted of three people of which one was the author XD

So if we don't count that the first one would be Hunger Games - It was one chapter and I never published it

19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

We'll see what posesses me next I guess, though I think Bg3 will stay with me for a considerable amount of time. And ship wise ... I feel Durgetash creeping up on me.

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Definitely Direct from Hell Logistics. I am having so much fun with it. It constantly makes me laugh and sheme and I also feel all the angst. Also it is ongoing and I get to explore the story alongside the readers (though I have a rough plot structure to keep me on track).

SEPTEMBER 18 — SEPTEMBER 24

Now, let's get to it! But first, a set of guidelines for this week.

• PRIORITY RULE NO PLAGIARISM / AI ART / HATE SPEECH OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT. staig week is friendly not to just artists, but to everybody else.

• submission any form of submission is acceptable! art on paper/digital, literature, edits, etc! as long as it honors the priority rule. + late submissions are fine!

• tagging if to submit, use #staigweek2023 or tag us so the world may see your contribution!

• themes the first six days have two choices to choose from, and you are to pick one. or, if you're feeling motivational, choose both! why not?

• it's more than okay if you draw/write staig as their genderbent, headcanons, or post-covid versions throughout the week! whichever you're comfortable with.

first confession - they say confessions make the best memory — or the worst.

• SEPTEMBER 19TH, DAY 2: my impressions of you

fanfiction - is there a particular fanfiction of staig you always wanted to illustrate? a oneshot that captures their endearment perfectly that you just want to draw it?

theme song - a theme song should be interesting, no? ever found a song you've listened to one day, and thought, 'hey, i can imagine 10 different scenarios of staig with this song'. or maybe it's just them listening to your favorite artist? it depends on how you see it.

• SEPTEMBER 20TH, DAY 3: nostalgic memories

SOT - stick of truth; the warrior and the thief, marshwalker and feldspar. how do you imagine their story?

TFBW - the fractured but whole; yet again toolshed and super craig remain rivals, what is it with these two?

• SEPTEMBER 21ST, DAY 4: troublesome

detention - with their reputation, why wouldn't they be in detention? always getting into fights, disasters they've caused.. but for what purpose exactly?

bad habits - sneaking out at night to party or to their secret meeting place, drinking, smoking, skipping classes, the typical rebellious teenage stuff which could be romantic if you think hard enough.

• SEPTEMBER 22ND, DAY 5: so happy together

indoors - staig date! indoors bonding — video games, cooking, card games, or spending time with stripe? who knows.

outdoors - another staig date? ridiculous. but this time it could be different and unique, maybe? like an aquarium date, a stargazing date, or stick to the basics. maybe go into the alphabet of dates to see what would go well with them? you decide.

• SEPTEMBER 23RD, DAY 6: up to this special day

graduation - their graduation! could be their graduation picture together, or a sentimental moment they could share.

prom night - a final moment to perfectly end their senior year in a success or a disaster; depending on your mood.

• SEPTEMBER 24TH, DAY 7: happy staig 2023!

FREE DAY - have a particular AU or prompt you wanted to draw that wasn't included? then with the 7th day you are free to do so! tons of possibilities and nothing to stop you. happy staig week 2023! thank you so much for letting us host this year, and of course, thank you for participating!

Okay, this is on the subject of the anon(s?) talking about the problematic use of the term "genderbent", which i'm admittedly confused about

(i wanna preface this by saying i'm not trying to come off as rude or accusatory at all, i'm just trying to have a discussion because i'm not completely understanding their point of view here!)

I did some research trying to find what specifically was transphobic about the term, (so that could be cut out, bc it's hard to come up with a replacement term without knowing what was inherently wrong with the first one) and i didn't find a whole lot, but i did find a post which went pretty in depth on why genderbending is problematic

basically they talked about how the term is transphobic because it implies that that gender and sex are the same thing, and also that there are really only two. which is a completely valid point, i can understand that, but why would "body swap" or "sex swap" then not be okay to use?

They also talked about it being erasure of queer representation to assume a character is or was cis in the first place, which again i can understand but unless the character is canonically queer or queer coded then, i don't really get it

like no one is taking your headcanons away from you or trying to erase queer representation, people's headcanons will always conflict with others, it's just unavoidable. i don't think someone having a different character hc than you (as long as it's not them actively ignoring a canonically queer character's orientation) is inherently transphobic.

something they brought up that kind of struck a chord with me is when they invalidated the "excuse of using it for character exploration" and said "Why do you need a character to be cis for you to find their personality and life interesting to explore?" which is just the strawman fallacy. the same thing can be said that "Why do you need a character to be queer for you to find their personality and life interesting to explore?" members of the lgbt community of all people should know that someone's sex/gender/orientation does not define a person. there's so much more to a human than their orientation

but again, most of this is on the subject of why genderbending itself is bad, and not the term alone, so if you're not using it in a transphobic manner i don't see the issue with it?

Again i'm not trying to start a fight or come off as queerphobic, because i'm absolutely not! this just seems like a hasty generalization to me

Super off topic, but I find it so funny how half my blog rn is 'mmm Mystic milk mommy reader' and the other half is having this super serious conversations and discussion. This is what we call duality 😌

Anyway, back to the serious stuff. I was gonna answer this earlier but for some reason the words weren't, like, sinking in? Like I read them, and understood them, but I just couldn't piece them together? If it makes sense.

As long as we're all respectful, I see no reason why we can't have a discussion.

I think the problem with using body/sex swap is still implying that there are only two sexes/genders, because it excludes those that are genderfluid/ non-binary/ etc.. It's kind of like implying that gender is coin, in a way? You can only be one or another, despite it being a wide spectrum.

I ran into a similar issue to the one you bring up when I was deep in the ROTTMNT fandom. If you know, there is a heavy portion of the fandom that que that Leonardo as a MLM/Gay presenting individual, and when faced with any other headcanon, they got quite...mean, I suppose is the best word for it. I was called a plethora of names when I didn't blatantly spell out my own headcanon for him and was told I was erasing Queer representation. So I think that's where some of the problems arise, is with the erasure to start with.

Of course a character doesn't need to be Cis, or Trans, or even really human for them have a personality that people connect with. but people can find comfort in having that ability to relate with another being sharing their issues. They can find solace in knowing that what their feeling doesn't pertain to them alone and that they aren't weird, or broken, or mistaken. Not that any of you are, but I know our minds can be cruel things to us.

I think the problem with it is that, again with the coin, I'm going from one gender to the other without leaving room for any in between. Like, when answering asks, I, even unintentionally, automatically went with a Fem! Presenting AFAB to a Masc! Presenting AMAB with the ordeal when there are several identifications in between.

I'm still trying to figure it all for myself, so I apologize if anything I said was wrong!

i don't have any triggers myself, however i know that quite a few people have a fear of clowns. i will be tagging any gifs or graphics featuring b.uggy the c.lown as 'clowns tw /', but please feel free to let me know if you need anything else specific tagged. i do read rules, but i tend to forget specifics as i have a really bad memory. i will do my best to tag the usual stuff, though!

i most likely will not be practicing single exclusivity on this blog, as it tends to make me anxious. that being said, i don't want to just blindly collect a bunch of versions of the same character, either, as i love plotting each dynamic out. i don't have a hard limit of blogs per each character, but i will naturally be prioritizing my friends and being more selective as to not be repetitive with plots. thank you for understanding!

He popped the cork off, as it made a clarifying pop sound, his index and thumb pinched the bottle. No label. No tag. No nothing.

So, why should he be scared?

But, he lifted his arm, as his lips curled around the rim of the beaker, his hand tilting the mysterious beaker up. The potion hit his mouth...

It tasted like..

Cherries-?

No, not cherries,

Vanilla-?

No, not vanilla,

It was-- Something he couldn't describe. It was harsh, yet sweet. It smelt like some kind of confetti, if it even had a smell .

Bleghh..

He took only a few sips, as he tilted hos hand down. Pulling the beaker away from his plump lips, sliding it upon the shelf.

...

It took a moment, but it struck like a train.

He shook his head, as he burped. His lips didn't change, but he could feel a change in his face. He couldn't tell what..

Something was off.. It was...

More curves.

He felt like bellowing, as his hands practically changed themselves. It didn't hurt. But ir felt strange.

Long nails adorned his original, short ones. Oh god.

His eyes widened, shock coating his face.

His chest tingled, the feeling of change ramming its uncomfy horns into it. Grew.

And grew..

Until something perky coated his chest. Two soft breasts--

His body was shifting, changing, he didn't know why!!!

You watched...

In shock.

As, stood before you,

Wasn't Jack anymore.

It was Jackelyn.

You smiled, as she turned to look at you, as she looked shocked herself.

"I'm a--" She sputtered out, as she raised her arms, peering down towards her hands, that were now soft and.. Smaller. Not too much smaller, but now that her height changed too, nothing much to do.

"You're a..?" You hummed out, awaiting for her to speak up and announce what had happened.

"I'm a WOMAN-!"

This was gonna take some getting used too.

That was fun.

How she shrieked out when it was tightened, and you could only pat her hand, not being brave enough to hold it. Her bare strength could probably break it no problem.

It fit!

She hated it.

Cuddles were nicer though.

Somehow, she became softer around. You could easily lay on her, somehow she was softer than before.

She just rolled her eyes and pinched the face of her sleeping mask, only to pull it down and let it slap against her face. An angry scowl on her face as she huffed. And headed to bed.

But you always woke up.

Getting cuddled.

Her periods weren't good either,

You always comforted her, rubbed her back, cooed it was okay. But oh god, did she HATE it.

She complained, got angrier, more protective of you. Almost like a harmful stereotype.

The cramps were a killer.

She'd lay in bed, with a hand on her lower tummy, her lips puckered in pain, as she clenched her eyes shut. It hurt, bad..

But, you took care of her.

Even if she 'didn't need it'...

Yet, during this time, she sometimes struggled to even get out of bed, having no motivation..

On the topic of bed...

Hey, that was fun.

Your new sex life.

I mean..

She had many new things to try and...

Haha..

You couldn't even spit it out without having a red face.

But here you stand, beside her desk, hearing her curse and sputtered. Hoping it would end soon, she didn't want this stupid body anymore!

i’ll reblog my stuff but i dont ever actively recommend it because just like with every thing else in my life i think i could have done better. BUT @four2andnew tagged me and I think this is an excellent way to stretch my self cheerleading muscles!

five fics i’ve written (or am currently writing) that i like?

every thing i need is right here by my side (WIP, M) - A Gender AU of Harry and Gideon stumbling through young adulthood. Balancing careers, family dynamics and the ever present attraction they’ve both tried to ignore for years. They have a cat, too. She’s what started all of this for me.

A little snippet of a chapter that I don’t know when I’ll post:

“Gideon, you have to give him a break.”

“No.”

“He feels awful. You know, sometimes he says things he doesn’t mean. Just like you do.”

“I mean everything I say, Ronald.” Gideon’s getting tired of Ron butting into his life. He should be on his side anyway. Not bloody Harry Potter.

“Merlin, you two are meant for each other,” Ron says.

Gideon chooses to ignore this and continues pouring over the new playbook he’s just received.

friendly and friendlier (WIP,M): A series of one shots across different universes wherein Harry and Ginny are friends with benefits and usually end up being more because I can’t bare to give them an unhappy ending. I’m partial to the first chapter that I wrote for this although the most recent chapter seems to be very popular.

you are beautiful (G) - a three shot of Hallie learning to love her hair as a mixed race girl in the UK. I headcannon that no matter the race of an AU Hallie Potter, Angelina Johnson plays a really big role. I’m trying to really push the power of female friendship in my writing in these AUs because they are important to me. I saw a post a few weeks back about how women and their friendships are essentially nonexistent in HP and it made me sad because its true.

in all chaos there is calculation (WIP, M) - i really like this concept. I know a lot of people like Slytherin Harry. I personally love genderbent Harry Potter so I of courses decided to take all of that on in a long form fic. I’m admittedly, being very hard on myself with this one and I’m trying not to be. Female friendship will once again reign supreme in this AU.

Here’s a sneak peek for waaaay down the line because if we’re being honest I do not have 3rd-5th year completely figured out yet.

“Andromeda is my favorite cousin, you know. She was a Slytherin too.” Sirius pauses for a moment. “She got burned off for marrying Ted Tonks - he was a Hufflepuff, I believe.” When Hallie doesn’t say anything, he turns to her and says, “in your letter last year, you asked if I was disappointed that you were a Slytherin. I’m not. I was surprised of course, but then I thought about Andromeda and Cissy - to some extent. You remind me of the best of them. You’re a smart resourceful young woman and I will always be proud of you.” When Hallie finally looks at him, her jaw is set and her eyes are hard. She looks so much like Lily that it takes him by surprise, like a punch to the gut.

“Do you really mean that?”

“More than anything.”

and finally, the first fic i ever wrote and posted after 15+ years of reading HP fanfiction off an on.

truth serum of the youth (T) Gender AU where everyone lives. Hallie’s got feelings for Gideon and just like our canon little cabbage Harry, she’s not going to outright admit it.

Does This Mean I'm a Girl Now?

Content Warning: this fic contains genderbending (sort of anyway) and gender dysphoria as a result of it, also multiple mentions of genitals as well as nudity in general.

My friends and I were discussing a thing that we were mildly salty about which brought on the topic about how we were salty in general over how a lot of genderbending stuff is portrayed. It often relies on stereotypes and gender roles which is really annoying and pretty shitty. Then my dear friend @itsladykit (I hope it’s okay that I tagged you, I just wanna give you proper credit for the idea) brought up the idea of a cis character getting magically genderbent and experiencing gender dysphoria because of it. Which I thought was a really neat idea but I wasn't sure if I was qualified to tell that tale but then they told me to follow my heart and write it and that's why this fic came into being.

Now I feel like I need to put the disclaimer that while I have personal experience with gender dysphoria, the worst of it was was back when I was a teenager, I've mostly grown out of it and I'm pretty sure most people have it stronger than I ever have. So if this isn't an 100% accurate depiction of dysphoria, that is why. I did my best though.

Also, Frender features in it mostly just because I was already fueled primarily by salt, might as well let my usual Futurama salt fuel me too.

“Wow,” Fry said as they looked over the naturally formed pool of bright pink goo. They’d been to a lot of different planets and seen quite a few different kinds and colours of goo but never one so pink. “It’s kind of pretty, don’t you think?”

“I guess,” Bender replied, disinterested. “I’m bored though so I dare you to jump in and see what happens.”

“Do not!” Leela snapped from somewhere behind them before Fry could even decide if he wanted to take that dare or not. “I don’t know what you guys found over there but don’t listen to him Fry because whatever it is, is probably dangerous.”

“Fucking killjoy,” Bender muttered so that only Fry could hear. He was right though; they were hiding out on a dumb planet with nothing on it to escape some asshole pirates which meant they had to just sit around and do nothing until Leela was sure they were free. It had only been probably an hour so far and Fry was already bored out of his mind. Leela had forbade them from doing anything ‘dirty’ in case they needed to get out in a hurry so the least she could do was let them investigate some cool pink goo.

So, feeling rather rebellious especially as the sound of Leela’s footsteps approached, presumably to investigate, Fry lowered himself to the ground so he could lean forward and stick in his hand in. The goo didn’t come up all the way to the lip of the natural pool, forcing him to lean a bit farther than he was really comfortable with considering the utterly unknown alien substance he would fall into if he lost his balance but if he fell Bender would catch him… probably anyway, so it should be fine.

The goo was pleasantly cool as it engulfed his hand, almost seemingly clinging to him and pulling it down. It was like sticking his hand in thick syrup fresh out of the fridge, a pleasant texture if a bit odd. Right away though his hand began to have that pins and needles feeling that came from laying on one’s arm wrong for way too long so he should probably…

The ground gave way beneath him, sending him into the goo. He didn’t even have time to yelp in surprise before he was fully submerged in it. He gasped instinctively, inadvertently breathing it in, making him choke and sputter.

He needed to get to the surface now! Except he didn’t even know where it was. He thrashed, trying to go in any direction but to no avail, the goo was too thick to swim well in and blackness was already eating at the edges of his vision. He couldn’t die like this! No fucking way! It wasn’t…

“…think it’s permanent?” Bender was saying from somewhere above Fry as he slowly came to.

“Who knows?” Leela replied from also somewhere above him. “For his sake, I hope not.”

“You make it sound like it’s a big problem.” Bender’s tone indicated that he disagreed.

“You don’t understand.” Leela was giving Bender her annoyed look, Fry didn’t even need to open his eyes to know that. “Though I guess I can’t really blame you for not understanding this, you’re a robot so it’s probably different for you.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Leela sighed. “Maybe you’re right, maybe it won’t be a big deal. Heck, maybe it’ll only last a few hours.”

As much as Fry enjoyed napping, the way they were talking was rather disconcerting so with a groan he opened his eyes and forced himself to sit up. Bender and Leela were standing to either side of where he lay on the ground. Bender was coated head to toe in bright pink goo, calling to mind what had happened last. That meant he’d jumped in after Fry and was probably the sole reason he hadn’t drowned. Now he was trying to wipe the goo off with a pink rag that might’ve once been white but it wasn’t very effective.

“Hey meatbag,” he said, turning his attention onto Fry. “How do you feel?”

“Uh… weird.” Fry was covered in goo still too. It clung to him and made him feel all tingly and odd, like his whole body had fallen asleep even though that wasn’t possible. And it smelled strange too and tasted bad. He turned his head to the side to spit as much of it out as he could, though it did little to rid his mouth of the taste. “I got to wash this stuff off,” he said as he stood up, careful of the probably slippery goo coating him and pooling around where it had dripped off him and Bender. “Thanks for saving me.” Was it just him or did his voice sound strange?

“Uh… Fry,” Leela cut in before he could turn to start for the ship. “The pink stuff kind of did something to your body.”

Oh no. “What?”

“Well, uh… um…”

“The most noticeable thing it did was give you boobs,” Bender finished. “I didn’t check your pants so it might’ve changed you down there too. You might want to look into it.”

Fry looked down at himself and… true to Bender’s words, his chest was quite different; his clothes soaked in the pink goo clung to him, highlighting the weird lumps on his chest. Boobs was what they were called, he had them now, big ones too. Or at least they looked big to him from this angle which wasn’t an angle he was ever supposed to see boobs from so how was he supposed to know?

“Does this mean I’m a girl now?” he asked as he looked back up at Leela and Bender. The strange thing about his voice was that it sounded more feminine and if it sounded that way to him how much more so was it to everyone else?

“Not unless you want to be,” Leela said with a reassuring smile.

“Uh… I don’t think I do.” He’d never considered it before even in passing but now that was forcibly faced with it, he was pretty sure he didn’t want to be a girl.

“Come on, let’s go wash this gunk off,” Bender said as he gave up on the rag, tossing it disdainfully to the ground before starting for the ship. Fry was more than happy to follow because who knows, maybe it would only last as long as the goo was coating him.

“All right,” Leela said, “I’m going to collect a sample of the pink stuff to bring back to the Professor.”

Undressing brought to Fry’s unfortunate attention that the goo had changed more than just his chest and voice. His hips were wider, his shoulders a little narrower – not by much, he’d never exactly had broad shoulders but enough that even if no one else was likely to notice he still did – and the other biggest change was that his dick was missing. He could explore what was there instead with his hands but… he didn’t feel particularly inclined to do so.

Which was odd, wasn’t it? In every movie or TV show he’d ever seen where a man ended up with a female body through whatever means, the joke almost always was that they were excited to touch themselves down there and play with their new boobs. It wasn’t even that he wasn’t into such things, while he did prefer men – especially if they were robots or aliens – boobs and vagina weren’t turn offs by any means. On himself though it was just… too weird.

With a sigh, he did his best to shake it off and stepped into the shower after Bender. There was only one on board the ship because it wasn’t exactly meant for everyday use, mostly decontamination and washing off dangerous chemicals which this probably counted as. There was enough room for both of them though so it was whatever.

“You owe me for going in after you,” Bender said, turning to face him. “It leaked into my everything and now I have to clean everything.” To demonstrate, he opened his chest compartment, revealing that it had been partially filled with pink goo, Fry had to pull his foot back to stop it from splashing on him. Bender then began taking things out to wash off too, including his cigar case, its contents most likely ruined. He gave Fry a pointed look as he put it back as if this were his fault, which it kind of was.

“Sorry, thanks for saving me though, I owe you big. But uh… you did dare me to jump in.” Not that Fry had meant to or would’ve if given the choice, not even he was quite that stupid.

“I didn’t think you’d actually do it. But whatever, I guess this is more exciting than sitting around doing nothing. By the way, in case you haven’t noticed yet, your dick’s gone.”

Fry had to hold back a groan; that wasn’t something he really wanted to think about. “Yeah, I know. How long was I in the goo before you pulled me out though?” Because surely a change this drastic couldn’t have happened in brief awful seconds he remembered.

“I don’t know, five, ten minutes. That stuff isn’t exactly easy to see through and it was a lot deeper than it looked. Which was why I had to jump in to find you in it.”

“How come it didn’t do anything to you?”

“I don’t know, maybe because I’m a robot.” That was kind of an ‘oh duh’, huh?

They were silent for a bit while Fry focused on making sure to wash all the goo off. He could probably safely step out now if he wanted to, the pins and needle feeling the goo had given him was rapidly fading, but the water was warm and… “What do you think of this?” He did his best to keep his tone casual. “Does it uh… change how you see me or anything?”

Bender scoffed as if Fry was stupid to even consider such a thing. “No, why would it? I’m a robot and I’m pan so I have double the reason not to care what your body is shaped like. It should be fun to play around with later though.” He winked as if his meaning wasn’t already obvious.

Fry wasn’t really sure about that but… that was probably just because he still wasn’t over the shock of the sudden change. When he was more used to it, it would probably be fun to experiment with so… “Yeah, maybe once we’re home and stuff.” Or maybe it would wear off before they even got there and thus it would basically be a non-thing, just another weird adventure that wrapped up quickly and left everything exactly the same as before. He could always hope, right?

“… and it’s permanent,” Professor Farnsworth finished, jerking Fry out of the bored stupor listening to the scientific explanation behind the exact mechanics behind the sex change had put him in.

“It’s what?” Hopefully Fry had just misheard something. He hadn’t exactly been paying attention after all.

“It’s permanent,” Farnsworth repeated. “It’s not going to wear off.”

“You mean I’m stuck like this forever?”

“Not necessarily. There’s of course the traditional transition methods you could take or I could use this,” Farnsworth held up the vial of pink goo that Leela had collected for him, “to engineer a substance that will have the opposite effect. And then it’ll be like this whole misadventure never happened except we’ll have the means to get rich off of selling this stuff. Of course we don’t yet know what all the risks it might pose are but that’s all the more reason to sell it to as many people as possible so we can find out.”

Ugh, Fry hadn’t even considered what other possible risks his inadvertent bath in the pink goo might’ve had. What if it was also super toxic and was going to eventually kill him? Or what if it drastically increased his risk of cancer other possibly fatal condition? … Eh, it was probably fine so… “How long is that going to take?”

“Hmmm…” Farnsworth held the vial up to the light as he studied it. “I don’t know. I should probably get to work on it.” And without any further word he was shuffling off out of the room. Everyone in the room, which was everyone employed at Planet Express because privacy didn’t exist in the modern age, watched him go.

“On the bright side,” Leela said from the other side of the conference table, “if he can make something that can do the reverse, we’ll have discovered something that can help a lot of people.”

“Assuming it’s safe anyway,” Amy added. “It could still be super toxic and deadly or something. So, congrats Fry, you get to be a guinea pig for a new way of transitioning. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t kill you in the end.”

“Uh… thanks, I think.” He’d rather not be a guinea pig for anything but seems he didn’t have a choice here so yeah, hopefully it was safe to use. But at least if anyone could make something that could turn him back to normal it was the Professor. So really everything would be fine. He just had to deal with this weirdness for a little while.

Looking at himself naked in his bedroom mirror was a mistake. His boobs were weird shaped lumps on his chest that hung there kind of like those ballast bags that hung on the sides of hot air balloon baskets but rounder and with nipples. How could something that looked like that be natural? Crossing his arms over them to try to hid them from view sort of worked but it also pushed them closer together which wasn’t a pleasant sensation. And combined with his hips, they gave him that ‘hourglass figure’ that was supposed to be desirable but didn’t look right in the mirror.

He couldn’t bear to look at his crotch for more a couple seconds because his dick was gone! That was weird and just plain wrong. Everything about his body looked wrong now and he hated it. He’d never particularly liked his body before – muscles would’ve been cool to have but weren’t worth the effort – but it had been utter indifference. Now looking at himself was an unpleasant experience.

He… wasn’t just going to just get used to or over this, was he? His body wasn’t supposed to be like this and thus he couldn’t feel comfortable in it while it was.

Eager to be done looking at himself, he stepped forward and turned the mirror around to face the wall. It would stay until his body was back to normal. All he could really do was hope that that would be soon.

In the meantime though he went to his closest in search out the baggiest clothes he had. Luckily everything he wore on a typical day was already baggy and a lot of it a size or so bigger than needed. Zipping up the jacket should help obscure his boobs too, maybe even completely, though probably not because his initial call had been right, they were on the larger side. But regardless it would be better than nothing.

Right as he was pulling on the jacket, the door opened behind him. “I don’t like this whole sex change thing,” he said as he zipped up and turned to face Bender as he entered. “Like I really, really don’t like it.”

“Why?” Of course Bender wouldn’t understand and well, honestly Fry didn’t either.

“I don’t know.” There wasn’t any solid logical reason for why he disliked it so much. “It just makes me uncomfortable. My body’s not supposed to look like this with boobs and… stuff.” And lacking of other things. “I don’t like it. So if we could pretend that it’s not a thing that would be great.”

Bender gave him a weird look before shrugging and moving on. “I swear you meatbags never cease to be weird. But if it really bothers you that much, I won’t mention your boobs or junk if that’s what you want.”

“Yes, I would like that, thanks.”

“That means we’re not going to fuck tonight though, huh?”

“Uh… yeah, I’d rather not.” That would involve exploring his new body and he couldn’t imagine that being fun.

“The things I put with for you. But whatever, let’s go watch TV then.”

Fry was more than happy to follow him back out into the living room. He could really use the distraction of both watching TV and of cuddling up with Bender.

True to Fry’s prediction he never got over his discomfort about his new body. Wearing obscuring clothing helped as did making sure to never look at himself in the mirror, especially without clothes, but it was still there. He could go for hours at a time without thinking about it but ultimately it always came back in one form or another and it was the worst.

Thankfully no one at Planet Express treated him any different. None of them even mentioned it after the initial buzz about it had faded. Sadly, such was not true for strangers; men flirted with him more which wouldn’t have been much of an issue if they weren’t flirting with him because of something he was uncomfortable with and wished wasn’t a thing. Bender put a jealous stop to a lot of that though which was much appreciated. And then there was everyone calling him she or her which sucked – he got called they or them some too which was better even if it still wasn’t right – most people didn’t care when he corrected them but it was still awkward that he had to.

But finally, just when it was starting to seem like he’d reached his limit and couldn’t take it anymore, upon arriving at work, Professor Farnsworth was there to greet him with some actual good news for once. The opposite of the pink goo was ready to be tested. The fact that Fry would be the first one testing it didn’t even matter to him to anymore.

It was in the pool out back where everyone else was already waiting because again, privacy wasn’t a thing anymore apparently, though honestly Fry didn’t even really care that much. But… “I’d thought it’d be blue,” was the first thing he said upon seeing it because it was bright yellow.

“Why would it be blue?” Farnsworth asked, genuinely confused.

“Because the other stuff was pink and it did this to me so it just makes sense for something that’s supposed to do the opposite to be blue, right?”

“That makes no sense,” Bender said. “Stop being stupid and go jump in already. And don’t almost drown this time because I’m not jumping in to save you again if you do, once was more than enough.”

“You say that but I doubt you mean it,” Hermes chimed in. “We all know you’d jump if to save him if you had to.”

Bender glared at him but Amy spoke up before he could say anything. “Yeah, you two have been dating for like a year now and were like totally in love for like ever even before you were official so don’t pretend to be a tough guy.”

“Just jump in already,” Zoidberg butted in. “I want to see what happens.”

“Yes, let’s just get this over with,” Fry said before anyone else could chime in with anything. He stepped forward to stand on the edge of the pool. “Can you guys like… look away please? I don’t want to ruin my clothes and uh… yeah.” He didn’t want them seeing him naked when his body was still like this even though logically they all already knew what he looked like but… he just didn’t want them seeing.

“Of course,” Leela said as she turned away. Thankfully everyone else soon followed suit with only a little grumbling.

Eager to have this over and done with, Fry quickly undressed. After tossing his balled-up clothes to the side, he sat down on the edge of the pool and slowly lowered himself into the yellow goo. It felt exactly the same as the pink goo had; cool and thick, quickly giving him that unpleasant pins and needles feeling. He had to force himself to submerge his head.

Fry was awoken by cold water being splashed onto his face. His eyes shot open to see who else but Bender hovering over him. “Hey Fry, I thought I told you not to almost drown this time.”

He didn’t remember falling asleep or unconscious and he certainly hadn’t intended to. “Sorry,” he said as he sat up.

Everyone had crowded around to loom over where he lay on the ground next to the pool. “How do you feel?” Farnsworth asked, adjusting his glasses. “Did it work? I can’t tell with all the yellow.”

“Uh…” Fry looked down at himself. … “It worked!” he said as he shot up to his feet. He was back to normal, how his body was supposed to be. His chest of flat, his proportions back to normal, and he had his dick back. Gosh, he never would’ve thought he’d feel so good while naked and surrounded by a bunch of people staring at him.

“Congrats on surviving another sex change,” Leela said.

“And on getting your dick back,” Amy added with an unhelpful thumbs up.

“Maybe next time think twice before deciding to play with a mysterious alien substance,” Hermes said.

Of course the Professor had something to say too. “Now we just got to wait a couple weeks and see if you randomly drop dead before declaring it tested and ready to sell.”

This was very quickly growing awkward with everyone standing around Fry and talking at him while he was butt naked and covered in experimental goo. “I’m going to go wash this stuff off now,” he said as he was already backing away. Also, now that his body was back to normal, there was something he wanted to do because he finally could again and the shower would be the prefect place to do it.

He’d learned an important and valuable lesson though: next time Bender dared him to play in an unknown substance, no matter how bored he was, he’d think about it a little harder before deciding to risk sticking his hand in. And to be more careful around alien goo in general.

reading: the new Cassandra Clare book, Chain of Iron. it’s boring and homophobic. in the first book of this series, we find out that the heroine’s brother is gay and in a relationship with a man who has no intention of ever coming out publicly because 1) the book is set in 1903 in England, it was literally illegal and 2) he’s trying to have a career in politics. the heroine decides that this means he’s ashamed of her brother and doesn’t deserve him, and she is present and active in their breakup conversation.

above is the relationship chart I made from the first book, it really hasn’t changed much except now the main guy and the main girl are married, the lesbians got back together and then broke up again, the main girl’s gay brother hooked up with one of her husband’s friend, who’s a Good Gay and therefore worthy of love unlike the Bad Gay ex who is constantly mocked by just about every character for. checks notes. caring about appearances and manners given that his life and career are based on those things. the brother and his new love interest break up because the brother still thinks he’s a bad person for ever having dated his ex. also the main girl has now platonically run off to Paris with her husband’s platonic soulmate who is allegedly in love with her but it’s really unconvincing that he’s not actually in love with her husband (he’s not for very stupid lore reasons, the whole ‘parabatai are magically prevented from being romantically in love, except for these two straight people, when historically parabatai pairs were two men’ makes my fucking blood boil)

you might ask why I still read these books even though they make me angry and the answer is the 1) the aesthetic slaps 2) some of the characters are fun 3) the premise has enough potential that it could be good if it was good 4) sometimes I need to get cathartically angry abt bad fiction bc it just. does not matter

Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood: my roommate pitched this to me as ‘cyberpunk but in the 1930s’ and there sure is dark lighting, lots of glowy neon stuff, and government oppression, which are the most important elements of cyberpunk apparently. not sure how I feel about it yet, because there’s a cool shapeshifting lady assassin with a revenge quest but there’s also a trans character who was revealed to be trans in a way that I personally did not enjoy. yes you can have transphobic villains but like. hmm. maybe the audience shouldn’t find out that someone is trans because the villain cuts his shirt away specifically to ~put him in his place. or maybe I personally am just sensitive to that but either way no thank you

on the other hand, the main character is sick as shit

The World Ends with You: god I love an anime about the power of friendship. I’ve only had these kids for two episodes and I would lay down my life for them

Nirvana in Fire: we’re only three episodes in and I did spend the first half of the first ep being like. oh god which of these people are actually important who am I supposed to care about here. and then by the end of the first ep I knew which ones I cared about and am now very afraid for their safety. do love the political intrigue though

playing: got through the first mission of Brigmore Witches. I love a good undercover mission, I wish I hadn’t been too afraid of like. alarms going off if I freed the other prisoners because I think Comrade Daud should do a jailbreak, and Lizzy Stride can call me anytime

also recently have played various ttrpgs including Firebrands, more Things, Eldritch and Terrifying, Link, and of course more Beam Saber (oh shit I meant to do my recap post for last session OOPS)

making: Zan and I made some real good chicken parm the other night, vaguely based on this recipe. by which I mean, we looked at the recipe to see how many eggs to use and how long to cook it and pretty much nothing else. the egg marinade step seemed unnecessary and I made the sauce the way I always make tomato sauce, which some day I should write down because it does in fact fuck. the secret is a shit-ton of oregano and basil and no chunks of tomato because fuck that. bad texture

Zan made the zucchini which also slapped, using some of the leftover bread crumbs

writing: I’ve posted a couple of things but most recently I wrote some rarepair femslash. this is the first fic for this ship on ao3 and the second ship in the f/f tag for this fandom that’s actually about the women in the show (as opposed to showing up in the f/f tag because it’s marked as “multi” or like. genderbent versions of the main m/m ship) but like. look at them. they’re terrible evil assassin women and they’re in love. anyway I’ve gotten over being embarrassed about having written a sex scene and moved on to wanting people to read my fic. there’s sparring as foreplay it’s a good time

my thoughts on the starkid controversies

{TCB included} yo so i got some opinions that i’m gonna spread...now. So does starkid have some inherently problematic things in their musicals that whether intentionally or not promotes a stereotype? Yeah. Let’s unpack these a little, okay? So let’s start at the beginning with Little White Lie. I think Little White Lie did great, there’s an episode where they defend trans people and the transphobic person is the villain and as a young closeted trans dude watching that...it was totally awesome. Now, AVPM, i dunno mans. I love it, I’ve seen the series many a times and used to watch it to cheer me up at night, I think it critiques JKR’s stereotypes very well and goes full out of “well if dumbledore is gay...let’s make him flaming gay” which is awesome. I saw Devin posted a youtube video talking about how she feels she stole the Cho Chang role away from an Asian actress who is known for playing Lavender Brown called Sango Tajima. I, personally, never got that vibe but I don’t think that’s up to me, I wasn’t there, I’m white, she ended up getting more roles and I encourage y’all to watch Devin’s video on it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fubo7wfGcuo I’m gonna skip a few cause there’s a lot of musicals and I’m tired. I think a lot of people feel uncomfortable about Umbridge’s portrayal and the way the relationship with Dumbledore is done because it can correlate to the trans women are often seen and portrayed and watching it thinking about it like that...makes it a bit cringey. On a similar note, in Spies Are Forever, Susan is a crossdressing character that has transphobic undertones. Now, I’m not saying starkid are transphobic or racist or should be cancelled or whatever. And I believe a lot of this stuff they have redeemed and tried to progress forward a lot better and that’s awesome. I am a firm believer everyone should just be judged based on their intentions. If someone has good intentions but does a shite job and people point out they’re not fulfilling those good intentions then they can change and grow and it’s great. So I love Black Friday but I have a gripe. Can we talk about Gary Goldstein for a bit? Now, I find the character kinda funny, Jon is an amazing actor and his portrayal is awesome. But Gary Goldstein is a lawyer...a very greedy lawyer...with the last name Goldstein. So for those of you that are unaware, Goldstein is a Jewish last name...Jewish stereotypes commonly consist of being very greedy lawyers...you see the issue here? I’m not Jewish, being completely honest I’m still confused about what being Jewish actually means however for Black Friday to take such strong political stances and add to it a so easily avoidable tidbit, literally without the name no one would conflate it with being Jewish but damn. And Hatchetfield names matter so much from what I’ve seen, so there’s thought behind this which makes it worse? So onto Robert Manion, pitchforks ready? The first controversy I saw about him was to do with something called genderbent pictures. For those that don’t know, it’s when people take someone usually a character from something and switch them to the opposite sex. A lot of the trans community have an issue with this because it kinda eradicates nonbinary people a lot. Really focuses on the binary part, y’know? says “oh now they’re the gender they’re not actually” implying only 2...it’s kinda shitty. For me, personally, it’s dysphoria inducing. It highlights features everyone associates with only each gender and I start recognising all the features on the female version that i have on me and it’s not a fun time. I’m a big boi, i can deal. But many trans people replied to him when talking about this and expressed the dysphoria they were feeling, why promoting those was harming the trans community etc. He apologised but he only apologised for calling it gender bent and not digital drag which...is not what people were saying? I appreciate him making an effort on twitter to promote trans voices, idk much about american politics, so can’t say much on what he’s doing there but at least it’s something. What would be the most awesome thing for him to do is explain what the actual things the trans community told him and promote that to discourage those pictures or to encourage them to also include non binary people in some way cause artistic expression and stuff. More recent Robert Manion controversy is the body positivity pictures. I’m 100% for body positivity, always, anyone body shaming anybody (unless they’re a racist, rapist or general bigot) is a bAD BEAN. However, now this part is gonna get a little nsfw, so if you’re a minor please don’t keep reading, i aint trying to get arrested. i can’t figure out how to do the keep reading thing so consider this it. Minors leave. So, onlyfans is a website where you pay for porn basically like a total boomer simp but i digress. Some pages are softcore which is like just outlines of things...like people in their underwear. Robert posted pictures of him in his underwear and tagged it porn and onlyfans. Which if a grown man wants to do sex work I won’t stop him. That’s not the case here, the case here is he posted a picture in his underwear, where his ahem bulge is visible and sexualised it with the tags. There are minors that follow this man, that may have been scrolling through instagram in school and saw oh shit a dong. “But Joey Richter took off his pants in mamd!!!” yeah and that had a ton of warnings, you knew what you were gonna watch was for mature starkids only. “WHat about Lupin!!” couldn’t see the bulge. When I was 17, I went to see a play and a girl in it started stripping right down to her underwear, was just like seeing her in a bikini. The tags sexualised it but so did the bulge outline. He censored it on his story which kinda feels like he knew it was inappropriate. Something else that makes me very uncomfortable about this all is the Body Positivity argument. Now I have gender dysphoria, I have scars, I have stretch marks, acne, I’m so SO for body positivity. I rant so often about how fatphobia shouldn’t happen because weight doesn’t equal health. I’m not saying this is what he’s doing but that argument is used by actual groomers. Like y’know the fucks that groom children? i.e. onision (allegedly) where he’d say it’s just for body positivity and get children to send him pics of them in their underwear? You see why this is a dangerous argument here? I don’t think Robert’s intention was to do that but if you indirectly tell a bunch of teenagers posting pictures in their underwear is a good thing...I can’t be the only one making this link and the fact y’all defend this as “just shirtless pictures” is lowkey driving me wild. He apologised for the tags cause it was making fun of sex workers but please please please think of the risk. Please? Starkid mess up, they’re human, please stop acting like they do nothing wrong and please stop acting like they’re cancelled forever with no redemption okay bye PS please let me know any trigger warnings to add <3

Typing this in my notes, trying to hide the fact that I'm still using the phone at 4 am while also trying to sleep 🤡

Black Butler, Twisted Wonderland, Rupaul's Drag Race and Disney Genderbent, specifically the villains!

6. How has this pandemic been treating you?

It's pretty normal. We don’t have school anymore so there's a lot of free time. Not so different from my everyday life besides the going to school part, since mom works at home. I was hoping to use this summer to actually plan something with my friends for once. We actually planned to just go to this arcade and play games the day before they announced the quarantine thing so rip

7. A song you can’t stop listening to right now?

Probably Backstabber by Kesha and Just My Type from Saint Motel. Both are hard bops you should give them a listen.

8. Recommend a movie

Movie? I don't often watch those,,,uhhhh OH OH OH! THE WILLOUGHBYS!! IT'S REALLY FUCKING GOOD AND MADE ME CRY AHSHBS you have to give it a watch! It’s so dark and fun to watch and it has a hella good yet sad story

I am 13 years old :)

School, going onto 8th grade.

11. Do you prefer heat or cold?

Cold, always. I'm kinda allergic to heat, my nose gets runny and I get rashes so I would prefer the cold 10x more.

Uhh, I like gore and all kinda of gory stuff! I love it! If you'd meet me in person, and mention it even once, i wouldn't shut up about it.

It takes a lot for me to be extremely comfortable with someone, and you have to be my bestest friend in the whole world for so many years before I'll be fully comfy with you. But don't worry internet friends (you know who you are)! I still love you guys and I enjoy talking to yall x0

15. Biggest pet peeve?

When people don't take me seriously, or when I eat and I accidentally bite my lip, and then I eat again and bite on the sAME GODDAMN SPOT. Also when I can’t sleep even though I took my pill, sometimes I’d sleep for 3 hours, and then the next day I get..12 hours.

16. What is your fave ‘dere’ type?

Dandere's and Hinedere's! I love the development between them and their love interest and it's interesting to see how their often shy/cold exterior slowly breaks! Yandere's are cool too! When done right of course.

17. Rate your life 1-10, 1 being really crappy and 10 being best it could ever be

I'd rate it a 7. It's pretty good but it does have it's downsides.

Grammar Tips That Are Actually Useful

Hey, everybody!

So I’ve been doing some major fanfic reading and I got to say how much I love being in my fandoms right now. There’s so much going on. So much to read, so much to favourite and follow, so much to comment on...

Now, I know that grammar PSAs can be pretty boring and likely to be scrolled past, but I really hope you give this one a chance because writers need to know this stuff. So allow me to present to you two grammar points that I’ve noticed are very common errors.

Point #1: The Masculine-Feminine Homophones.

These little guys are words that sound exactly the same when spoken but are spelt differently because of the gender of the person they describe.

For example: blonde.

I see this word over and over and over again, often attributed to our dear Captain America, Steve Rogers.

Dearest writers, this is wrong, unless you’re writing Steve as a trans woman or genderbent, in which case please move along to the next point.

That little ‘e’ on the end signifies femininity in the word (yes, this does exist in language). This means that if we want to describe Steve Rogers as a man with blond hair (hair itself won’t have the ‘e’ either), we drop that ‘e’.

• Steve Rogers is (a) blond. • Blond-haired Steve Rogers. • Mr. Perfect Blond Steve Rogers. • That blond.

Same goes for this word:

• Brunette (feminine noun) • Brunet (masculine noun)

The thing with brunet is that you don’t typically use it in the -haired phrase. While we can have blond-haired, red-haired or black-haired, brunet can’t be used this way. Here’s why: blond, red and black are listed as actual colours - this is why ‘the woman is blond-haired’ doesn’t have that e, because we’re describing the hair, not the woman. Brunet, however, is not a colour. Brown is. You can say brown-haired, but you can’t say brunet-haired. It sounds weird, doesn’t it? So we don’t say and we don’t write it.

Okay?

Okay.

There’s also this one:

• confidant (masculine noun) • confidante (feminine noun)

This word is tricky because it’s not the same as confident (this word (an adjective) meaning someone has confidence in something/someone). Confidant(e) is a person someone can confide in, typically a best friend, spouse, or beloved sibling, etc. Pets can be confidants, too!

So you can say that Steve and Bucky are confidants. You can also say that Pepper is Tony’s confidante. You can also say that Pepper is a confident confidante, but that sounds silly, although not necessarily incorrect.

Point #2: Punctuation - The Vocative Comma

Dun dun duuuuunn!!

This is a serious pet peeve of mine, when writers mess up with this little guy. It’s super easy to miss or misunderstand, and I understand that, but ignorance is not always bliss, so let’s learn why the vocative comma is so important.

Consider the following sentence:

• Natasha sit down.

Now this can be read in a couple of ways. First, is that the writer missed the ‘s’ in sit (making it the present tense) and the sentence should be ‘Natasha sits down’. Or the writer missed the vocative comma, making the sentence this: Natasha, sit down.

That little comma separates the full sentence of ‘sit down’ and to whom the sentence is being addressed (ie. Natasha). Whenever someone is being addressed (talked to, commanded, etc.) by name or title (doctor, ma’am, sir, kiddo), this comma must be there. No exceptions.

Here are some more correct examples:

• Dr. Banner, is that beaker smoking? • Come on, Peter! Live a little! • You need to eat something, kiddo. • If you have any concerns, sir, be aware that I don’t care. • If you, sir, have any concerns, be aware that I don’t care.

See what I did there? It’s the same sentence, but I moved the ‘sir’ (the person being addressed). Depending on what I want the speaking character to say and how to say it, I can move the ‘sir’ around. The second one sounds a little more condescending, doesn’t it? And I don’t have to add italics on ‘sir’ for emphasis because its placement does it for me.

The thing with names and titles is that you can stick them just about anywhere in the sentence.

Like so (sir is emboldened for easier reading)

• Sir, if you have any concerns, be aware that I don’t care. • If, sir, you have any concerns, be aware that I don’t care. • If you, sir, have any concerns, be aware that I don’t care. • If you have any concerns, sir, be aware that I don’t care. • If you have any concerns, be aware, sir, that I don’t care. • If you have any concerns, be aware that I don’t care, sir.

There’s also this one (though there’s no vocative comma): • If you have any concerns, be aware that I don’t care. Sir.

Punctuation is so important. That last sentence means that the speaker tacked on ‘sir’ at the end as an afterthought. You can explain that as a dialogue tag (“.... Sir,” he added spitefully/as an afterthought/snidely/sneeringly/whatever you want), or not because readers can infer a lot from how you place punctuation.

Vocative commas. Very annoying but very important.
