Would You Rather - Fanfic Version

Do you prefer friends to lovers or enemies to lovers? Aw man, do I gotta choose? I really love both, but there’s something a little more mmm, intimate, about enemies to lovers.

Would you rather be forced to watch a terrible movie adaptation of your favorite fanfic or an amazing adaptation of your least favorite fanfic? "terrible” and “amazing” are very subjective, and I love trashy movies/games that are fun to watch/play so that’s kinda my attitude with fanfics haha.

Would you rather read fanfic chapters backwards or read them as parsed from google translate? Backwards? I guess? If I have to translates a fic, uhh, I just Don’t lmao.

Would you rather consume every fanfic as an audiobook read by a monotone narrator or have to read on a tiny printed piece of papers written in yellow highlighter? If I had to choose, probably the audiobook. My eyes have trouble reading black text on white background sometimes as it is.

Would you rather read only alternate universe fanfics or only canon fanfics? My bread and butter is AU by virtue of being a crossover shipper. No matter how close to canon I get with either, it’s still ultimately AU. Plus, canon is dumb af anyway for both so i’m doing everyone a favor lmao.

Would you rather introduce fanfics to your normie friend with an ongoing smut fic with great writing or a complete fluff fic with terrible writing? Depends on the normie. I have non-fandom friends who enjoy writing and reading as much as I do, and I feel like that a well written smut and fluff fic would be more compelling to them, if not just to analyze the characters.

Would you rather read your notp with all your favorite tropes and perfect characterization or your otp with tropes you despise and inconsistent characterization? I think I’d pick the notp honestly. Listen, anything can become an otp with the right convincing in my book. Though, for most of my notps, they employ a lot of similar annoying tropes I hate seeing in most of my otps so like, can’t win them all.

Would you rather have a major character death or have a bed sharing scene but it’s a ship you hate? Major Character Death in the bed they were sharing.

Would you rather every fanfic includes Jackson Wang or every fanfic includes at least one nsfw moment? dunno who that is so I guess one nsfw moment it is.

Would you rather read a fanfic that has constant grammar and spelling mistakes or one that the characters are wildly different than canon? Have you read any of my fics I’m the worst speller/grammarererrr ever. However, I can take “wildly different” to a certain point in the case of many AUs where you kinda have to fudge things a little for the sake of your setting.

Would you rather read the most absolutely messed up dead dove with your most wholesome ship or subject yourself to 100,000 words of your notp all written in a solid block with no punctuation and horrible grammar? Dead Dove, no contest.

            life  for  jimin  had  always  been  comfortable  ,  but  she  didn’t  want  to  take  the  usual  route  ,  or  what  was  expected  of  her  .  she  had  always  been  interested  in  music  ,  so  she  she  originally  started  with  taking  dance  classes  .  she  trained  in  all  forms  of  dance  in  order  to  be  well  rounded  ,  and  she  initially  had  dreams  of  becoming  a  backup  dancer  ,  but  when  she  was  playing  around  and  decided  to  make  a  video  singing  a  song  that  she  had  written  all  on  her  own  ,  jimin  became  an  overnight  sensation  .  her  song  ,  hotter  than  hell  ,  blew  up  almost  instantly  and  she  was  signed  to  warner  music  group  .  

            i’ve  written  enough  VCJNXVBHCV  but  her  career  has  followed  the  timeline  of  dua’s  ,  although  it’s  slightly  off  by  maybe  the  month  or  the  year  .   she  has  won  a  total  of  forty - two  awards  in  her  career  ,  including  two  grammy  awards  and  three  brit  awards  .  although  miss  dua  got  a  lil  clowned  for  her  dancing  at  one  point  ,  i  must  say  that  jimin  is  quite  the  performer  ,  and  definitely  makes  use  of  the  stages  by  recreating  music  videos  or  simply  giving  the  audience  an  experience  .  she  has  not  released  future  nostalgia  as  of  yet  ,  but  it’s  what  she’s  currently  working  towards  !  through  her  career  ,  she  is  known  by  her  mononym  jimin  !

ii.  temperament  .

jimin  is  a  real  bitch  ,  but  she  doesn’t  go  out  of  her  way  to  ‘  out  bitch  ’  someone  because  she  finds  it  to  be  kinda  dumb  .  she’s  primarily  looking  to  have  fun  ,  and  no  one  is  about  to  be  bitchy  around  her  without  getting  snatched  up  .

she  parties  like  she  just  turned  twenty - one  and  dares  someone  to  say  something  about  it  !  invite  her  to  the  club  and  she’s  coming  without  a  second  thought  .  she’s  the  friend  who  will  make  plans  and  will  get  a  little  sad  when  people  cancel  on  her  ,  but  she’s  still  going  to  find  a  way  to  enjoy  herself  .

does  not  take  authority  seriously  and  she  can  be  seen  making  a  jerking  off  motion  whenever  someone  kisses  up  to  those  of  authority  .  talks  shit  ,  but  backs  it  up  because  if  you’re  bold  enough  to  talk  shit  you  might  get  hit  ,  right  ?  

she’s  a  sultry  bitch  and  she  loves  it  .  give  her  the  chance  and  she’ll  flirt  with  a  tree  ,  she’ll  flirt  with  a  plant  ,  and  she  might  flirt  with  your  significant  other  .  she  can  get  kinda  lewd  and  will  say  something  really  off - beat  ,  and  honestly  shut  her  up  if  you  do  .

the  epitome  of  a  gen - z  /  millennial  line  straddler  as  she  can’t  walk  past  a  mirror  without  taking  pictures  of  herself  .  sickeningly  vain  as  she  takes  pictures  at  any  chance  she  can  like  after  getting  her  hair  and  makeup  done  or  even  when  she’s  out  and  about  shopping  .    

iii. headcanons  .

jimin  is  quite  chaotic  and  she  does  not  hold  back  from  it !  she’s  a  pot  stirrer  ,  and  she’ll  watch  everything  unfold  as  if  she  wasn’t  the  one  to  start  the  problems  in  the  first  place  .  not  afraid  to  spread  a  rumor  or  putting  a  trolling  instagram  comment  on  one  of  her  posts  on  blast .  she  likes  to  be  petty  ,  but  she  can  back  it  up  ( but  it’s  NOT  fat  enough  😔 )  .  

her  style  is  vastly  different  than  what’s  expected  .  on  stage  ,  i  would  think  her  style  is  something  akin  to  kpop  stage  outfits  ,  but  not  necessarily  as  tame  .  she’s  not  afraid  to  show  skin  so  there’s  a  lot  of  embellished  leotards  and  heels  ,  dramatic  eye  makeup  and  perfectly  styled  hair  .  off  stage  ,  she  likes  a  relaxed  but  high - end  style  .  lots  of  denim  ,  lots  of  black  ,  loves  oversized  pieces  ,  but  she  loves  to  follow  trends  where  she  can  .

loves  to  yoga  ,  pilates  ,  and  anything  else  that  doesn’t  involve  having  to  go  to  an  actual  gym  .  she  especially love aerial  yoga  as  it  keeps  her  flexible  as  a  dancer  .

miss  jennie  didn’t  let  us  enjoy  it  long  enough  ,  but  jimin’s  hair  is  canon  to  jennie’s  blonde  pieces  ! she’ll  switch  up  the  color  every  so  often  with  temporary  dyes  ,  but  other  than  that  ,  it’s  usually  always  blonde  !

she  doesn’t  drink  st*rbucks  so  don’t  ask  her  to  go  ,  and  she  especially  doesn’t  go  because  she  likes  very  simple  coffee  drinks  .

iv.  wanted  connections  .

give  me  everything  ,  please  !  i’d  love  some  of  the  basics  like  former  friends  ,  best  friends  ,  industry  rivals  ,  friends  with  benefits  ,  confidant(s)  ,  frenemies  ,  good / bad  influences  ,  one  night  stand(s)  ,  enemies  with  benefits  ,  or  a  current  or  ex  fling  !

because  i  love  my  women  loving  women  ,  hand  over  the  ex  girlfriend  !  in  my  head  i’m  thinking  that  they  were  a  really  happy  couple  and  they  were  really  good  to  one  another  ,  but  they  drifted  apart  .  they  remain  good  friends  and  people  probably  think  there’s  still  feelings  because  they  can  be  rather  touchy  feely  with  one  another  (  👀 )  .

ifykyk  ....  but  i  love  angst  !  i  love  to  have  my  heart  ripped  right  out  of  my  chest  so  give  me  angst  in  any  form  :  angsty  friends ,  exes  ,  anything  !  

a  couple  who  are  stuck  in  a  limbo  !  they  have  yet  to  make  it  past  the  point  of  friends  ,   wondering  if  they’re  just  a  hookup  to  one  another  would  there  could  potentially  be  more  .  they  probably  fight  a  lot  because  of  those  underlying  feelings  ,  but  it  could  be  interesting  to  explore  either  way  !

give  me  enemies  !  and  not  for  fake  but  two  people  who  genuinely  dislike  one  another  .  it’s  not  surprising  for  jimin  to  not  get  along  with  a  lot  of  people  considering  the  fact  that  she’s  not  ...  the  nicest  ,  and  i’m  not  entirely  sure  as  to  why  they’d  dislike  each  other  ,  but  it  could  be  so  much  thank  u  KFJDFDS  .

give  me  the  heartbreak  that  still  lingers  i  will  sell  you  my  SOUL  .  maybe  their  relationship  was  good  ,  or  it  was  a  mess  KNFJD  ,  but  but  when  they  broke  up  they  haven’t  fully  gotten  over  it  yet  ?  probably  a  lot  of  lingering  looks  ,  and  giving  compliments  but  they’re  kinda  awkward  because  they  don’t  know  how  to  approach  each  other  sometimes  .

Ben 10 Alien Design reviews! – Wildmutt

Our second review will be the goodest boy, Wildmutt!

Wildmutt’s in-universe species are called Vulpimancers, which come from a planet that is so in total darkness, they haven’t even evolved eyes! So they have to make do with their enhanced sense of smell and hearing that gives them 3D mapping over their surroundings! And the best bit? Their gill-like markings on their neck are actually what give them their sonar and they’re also canonically their nostrils (and I think it’s implied they can even hear from them as well!). That’s REALLY cool and fascinating! Though, I gotta wonder, considering how Wildmutt’s nostrils only spread from the sides to the below of his neck, he probably doesn’t have as acute vision from head-on? It may not matter much due to how enhanced his sense of smell and hearing is, but it does bug me a little even if I really like the look of his blank face!

Also now that I think about it, if Vulpimancers are from a world so dark they have no light vision, what would be the need for their orangish fur? If it’s for camouflage, wouldn’t everything be in blackening darkness anyway? It would make more sense for me if his fur was more around on black or grey pigments; otherwise you just have some good boys with flashy coloured fur that they can’t show off to anyone due to not even having concept of colours! :(

Vulpimancers are very beastly and feral aliens, yet despite this they are actually a sapient species that even have their own languages comprised of complex growls and roars, however this language is almost impossible to translate and their vocal chords can’t emulate most other languages, the poor woofers are misunderstood! 

Another neat design detail on Wildmutt is that from at first glance and the name you’d think he’s a canine based alien, but he also has some other mammalian animal traits! For example, he has ape-like traits in his posture and large arms, and he has porcupine-like traits with his various ‘quills’ around his body. Said quills can also be used as projectile weapons (though Wildmutt can’t do this due to how young he is) and they even supplement his sonar!

Generally speaking, I really like how despite Wildmutt being a more mammalian alien monster, they still had fun with his design and not make him look like a generic cool mammal that happened to be from space or whatever. To me he actually looks alien, and an alien that’s whilst evolved similarly to some Earth mammals, has clearly evolved its own unique traits from its alien environment at that! He probably is one of my favourites for how actually strange his appearance is the more you look at it.

Also, that underbite is adorable.

Wildmutt’s design in Ultimate Alien is ultimately the same aside from some VERY slight colouring and proportion changes. His upper arms and legs are now skinnier and a bit TOO skinny for a quadruped beast with super strength if you ask me. His black lips are now the same colour as his fur and I apologise if this comes across as nitpicky, but it uh... kinda bugs me, here it implies that Wildmutt’s lips are also covered in fur which is... eesh that doesn’t sound comfortable. Yes I know it sounds dumb, but like... have you seen a dog’s mouth and lips? There’s a reason why fluffy animals have a bit of skin showing around the mouth area, it’s so they won’t get any nasty stuff stuck on their lips and more easily eat food! I can’t really see it as being both the skin and fur being the same colour either due to fur and skin always being differently coloured with different pigments for each, and ‘sides, it’s good to have some colour variety in your critter!

Omniverse’s Wildmutt is again the same but has regained the black lips and is a bit more simplified to accommodate with Omniverse’s style, he also has a slightly more pronounced chin, and whilst I like the more flatter look of the previous designs better, it does more accentuate Wildmutt’s bite force and I think they make him look cute! His omnitrix symbol is also now a full on dog collar that also just makes him look more cute, you almost just wanna give him a pat to the head! But why wouldn’t you have wanted to in the first place!?

I don’t really have much to say about this one other than I think it’s the cutest of all the other incarnations, though the proportional criticisms I had for the UA design also applies with this one as well.

  Overall I definitely like his design from the original series best. Wildmutt’s design I feel could use some improvement biology-wise but that’s really just me and it doesn’t matter so much for a cartoon alien dog, and it helps he has some really cool concepts going for him that are shown neatly in his design. Wildmutt isn’t my favourite design (I dunno if I really even HAVE one due to how much I like almost all of them) but I really like him and I feel he’s one of the more underrated aliens, but then again that’s pretty much the same for any of the more monstrous and non humanoid ones, he doesn’t even have a reboot counterpart! Gdi Man Of Action please give the doggo some love!

Endless Summer: The (un)Official Screenplay - “End Credits”

Yes, you read that right: this movie script does include an “End Credits” of sorts! Though since there are very few people who actually worked on this script (aka: just me), I’m also going to be including my final thoughts on how the script turned out, where the story’s going from here, what the hell is up with that “CIU Project” tag I keep adding to these, and... in true MCU-style fashion, even an end-credits scene! Or two?

INT. THE CELESTIAL LOBBY - DAY

Estela is standing at the concierge desk, gazing at several sheets of paper stacked atop it. The elevator doors open, and Ian emerges, the folders he’d found previously now clutched in his hands. She turns at his approach.

ESTELA: Ian! There you are! Listen, you should see this-

IAN: Look, I... I’ve got something I need to show you. To show everyone, really. Where are they?

ESTELA: I think most of them are still sleeping. Can’t say I blame them, after last... night? Morning? Day? Anyway, look.

Ian crosses over to the desk and looks at the papers. On them, in a messy scrawl, are written several seemingly non-sequitur messages. Ian picks one up and reads it, confused.

IAN: “The Hostiles know.” “McKenzie equals Lupus.” “The STARS are key!!” “He’s here he’s here he’s here he’s here...”

He looks up at Estela.

IAN: What is this? Looks like nonsense.

ESTELA: I’m not sure. But more to the point, this wasn’t here before we “time traveled.” Someone was here during the 204 days we skipped. Is this Diego’s handwriting?

IAN: Nah. I’d know his scribbles anywhere. Doubt it’s the Hostiles, either, since they don’t speak English.

ESTELA: So that means... what?

Before Ian can respond, the elevators open again, and Alyssa and Jake emerge. They stop short when they see the folders in Ian’s hand.

ALYSSA: Wait, are those-?

JAKE (simultaneously): You found some too?!

Estela and Ian turn to face them. Ian shrugs and holds up the folders.

IAN: I... I didn’t mean to keep these from you guys, I just didn’t really get the chance-

He stops when he realizes what Alyssa and Jake had said.

IAN: Wait... “found some too?” You both-

Alyssa shrugs sheepishly.

ALYSSA: At that emergency shelter. One of ‘em was about you, Estela.

ESTELA: Me?

IAN: You should’ve shown her!

ESTELA: To be fair, we all had our reasons for not trusting one another, especially at first.

She pulls out her own set of folders. The top one is Jake’s, and she hands it to him.

ESTELA: This is yours, I believe.

JAKE: Goddamn...

He flips through it, saying nothing, but his eyes go wide in surprise.

JAKE: Hang on. Be right back.

He sprints out of the lobby, toward the entrance to the basement. Alyssa hangs her head and sighs.

ALYSSA: Sorry, Estela. Really. We’re long past the point where we should’ve stopped keeping secrets from each other-

ESTELA: It’s fine. Apparently we all did the same thing.

IAN: I was hoping to find everyone so I could show them all at once. I’ve got Craig’s, Zahra’s, and Quinn’s.

ALYSSA: But how do they know this much stuff about us? Birthdates, locations, history... except yours, Estela; a lot of it’s blacked out for some reason.

She hands the folder to Estela, who reads through it.

ESTELA: What is here is worryingly accurate. How could Rourke possibly know all of this? Down to the last detail?!

Alyssa shivers involuntarily.

ALYSSA: I dunno, but it’s freaking me out-

Jake bounds back up the stairs, a pair of folders clutched in his hands.

JAKE: Found these right before all that Aleister business started, and then I forgot all about it, given... uh, what happened that night.

He looks awkwardly at Ian. Alyssa coughs and glares at Jake.

IAN: What happened that night?

ALYSSA: None of your business! Actually, hang on: what were you two doing that night? I seem to remember you rushing in together-

IAN: “None of your business!”

ALYSSA: I really should’ve seen that coming.

JAKE: None of that matters right now. You two are gonna wanna see these.

He passes the twins’ folders to each of them. They stand side by side as they open the folders, staring openmouthed at the “Birth” sections.

IAN: “December 31, 1995 - 11:59 PM” ... “Location... La Huerta?!”

ALYSSA: Mine says “January 1, 1996 - 12:00 AM.” Also La Huerta.

JAKE: There’s no way in hell you two were born here. You’d have known that, right?

Alyssa and Ian shake their heads.

ALYSSA: Jake... we were adopted together when we were babies. We never knew our birth parents or anything.

IAN: Our birth certificates said “January 1st, ‘96,” so that’s just when we celebrated, but... Alyssa...

ALYSSA: If Jake and Estela’s birthday info is all true, and if the others’ are true as well, then...

IAN: ...We were born here. On La Huerta.

ALYSSA: Ian... who are we?!

FADE TO BLACK.

FINAL THOUGHTS AND FUTURE PLANS:

How do you actually write one of these things? Well, I start out by playing through the canon chapter(s) that a given scene is based on and transcribing the script into Word for reference. The canon ES chapters are L-O-N-G, by the way. Then, I decide what to keep, what to alter, what to get rid of, and which lines to include unchanged, and then I write the actual script! After that, I run through it once to edit, then I’ll read the lines aloud and make more changes to make them sound natural. Post it to Tumblr, fix the formatting (and edit once again), then voila! A scene is born!

What was up with the changes? You skipped a ton of scenes! I thought the script turned out well, and (based on people’s reactions and comments) reasonably easy to follow even with all the changes. Most of the changes were made with the aim of streamlining and shortening the story; even with all the scenes cut from canon, the script still ended up being an estimated 3 hours long! Yikes! The other major changes were mostly made with the aim of setting up threads for weaving a greater story, which leads us to...

What the hell is “CIU Project?” Okay, okay, if anyone’s looked in the tags, you’ve probably noticed the recurring tag “ciu project” as well as tagging my Vaanti OC names with (CIU) at the end of it. CIU stands for “Choices Interconnected Universe” and is what I’m calling any- and everything that takes place in the same universe as this ES rewrite. There will be a more detailed post about the CIU and a general idea of my plans for it later on, but I wanted to wait to announce it until this first script was finished!

Have you written anything else in your CIU universe? “Choices Interconnected Universe Universe?” Okay, but seriously, this is the first official, “canon” work set in the CIU. I have written my Vaanu “Post-Credits Scene” during ESAPW, but consider that more of a loose “teaser” for the project than anything. Once I get to the script that scene’s meant to appear in, I will rewrite it and it may have a few tiny details different. Anything else I write in the CIU will be tagged with “ciu project” (no quotes) so you can find it easily there!

What other Choices books besides Endless Summer are going to be involved? I’ll be explaining that in the separate CIU post I plan to make soon, but in the meantime... 

FADE IN:

INT. L.A.P.D. STATION - OFFICE - NIGHT (FIVE MONTHS AGO)

A man in a crisp suit, his back to the camera, scrolls through data about Rourke International on his computer screen; images of Jake, Lila, and Aleister appear beside a satellite view of the Caribbean Sea. Scattered on his desk are copies of the various dossier pages that Ian, Alyssa, Jake, and Estela had all found across La Huerta. The man sighs and rubs his forehead in frustration.

The door swings open, and a young auburn-haired policewoman rushes into the office, slightly out of breath. This is Jake’s sister, REBECCA MCKENZIE. The man looks up as she enters.

MAN: ...Officer McKenzie? I told you I’d let you know when I found something-

REBECCA: They’re pulling you off the case. You’re getting reassigned. I asked her not to, but-

MAN: Listen, Officer, I told you before: technically this case is well outside my jurisdiction. It’s not even in this country, let alone the city. I figured it was only a matter of time ‘til they wanted me working on something a bit closer to home.

REBECCA: But... what the hell am I supposed to...

MAN: Whatever I’m being reassigned to, I promise I’ll keep digging up leads on my own time. An entire island can’t just go missing with no one noticing; there’s definitely something fishy going on.

REBECCA: Yeah, and my brother was on that island. You’re a detective! Solving mysteries is your job!

MAN: Well, this mystery is tougher than most. But I promise we’ll figure it out eventually. He’s not the only person who’s gone missing in that area last month, besides.

He indicates the scattered pages on his desk.

MAN: Fifteen missing, including your brother. Don’t worry. You know I’ve got plenty of friends in high places.

Rebecca smiles, reassured by his words.

MAN: So what’s this new case I’m being reassigned to? I swear, if it’s another celebrity feud over nothing-

REBECCA: Nothing like that. You heard about the Tower Murders the other night?

MAN: Yeah, I thought Barton and Sanchez were handling that one-

Rebecca shakes her head.

REBECCA: Nobody can figure it out. Captain wants you. Specifically. There’s even rumors that... y’know... Li might be behind it.

MAN: Heh. Of course they think she’s behind it. If Li was behind everything everyone claimed she was, there’d have to be at least a dozen of her running around. 'Sides, murder isn’t her style.

He stands up from his desk, adjusting his suit and tie.

MAN: Tell the Captain I’ll do it.

REBECCA: You will? Just like that? But what about my brother?

MAN: I’m at a dead end for now anyway. I’ll find this murderer, get ‘em locked up, and be back on the La Huerta disappearances faster than you can say “Case closed.”

Rebecca laughs in spite of herself, then recovers and nods professionally.

REBECCA: Thank you, Detective. I’ll let the Captain know, and she’ll fill you in on the details. And... I appreciate what you’re doing for me. For my brother.

MAN: Of course. After all, there’s never been a case I couldn’t crack, and I’m not about to let that change!

Rebecca leaves the office. The man turns and faces the camera, adjusting his badge, which reveals his name: DETECTIVE DAVE REYES. He shakes his head, glancing back at the images on his computer once more.

DAVE: What the hell are you up to, Rourke?

Do you have any headcanons about the lost character's music tastes?

Ooh, thank for allowing me to come into my askbox and be pleasantly surprised (i tensed up thinking i was gonna see a hate message)And I didn’t even have to ask!

Most of this is what I’ve gleaned from canon (and expansions there upon), and also bear in mind I don’t exactly know the details of the genres of music, so specific bands may be lost of me. But thank you for asking

Jack: canon into classic rock. (i checked, Nirvana specifically) which is hilarious because Jack is, and I mean this in a loving way, a piece of stale white bread. other music is lost on him but he’ll move his head awkwardly to most songs out of politeness. it’s also very subtly implied that jack wanted to be a piano player instead of a doctor and we even see him playing rather nicely. so theres that

Kate: in a flashback we saw her wearing a Janis Joplin shirt (amazingly when they were writing Kate, they thought they were making a straight character. hah) so I figure she likes that kind of music, like… women with croaky voices singing about pain and love. throw Alanis Morissette in there too. plus, she was excited when she realised who Charlie is, so throw a little punk rock in there. or at the very least Kate heard You All Everybody on the radio and enjoyed it. i’ve pictured her getting into some bops too, e.g I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain. i like to imagine her getting into that whilst making breakfastCharlie: we know Charlie’s taste. and he declares himself an “expert on all things musical” so i gather he loves music in general. favours punk rock tho. the kind of Fuck The System rock that he thinks he’s making. you just know Charlie loved the Sex Pistols. he’s also canon a fan of The Kinks (snort) and Oasis. and he must be a Beatles fan (such a pom) because he has some lyrics of theirs tattoo’d on his shoulder (thanks to his actor)Daniel: canonically adores classical music and… Driveshaft (which just tickles me pink, i imagine he has all their albums, which would be at least three in the limbo world) so apparently loves punk rock too. i imagine Driveshaft is he favourite band and he recognises they have hit or misses and aren’t That Great but he just thinks they’re neat. he loves all classical music but his favourite composer is chopin. (referencing to how fantaisie-impromptu by chopin is His Song). he also creates music himself and apparently has experimental tastes for it. as made clear to me by his story, music is his ultimate special interest. specifically involving the piano. live your dreams, babyLocke: owns both of Driveshaft’s albums (expressed that the first was better) if Daniel didn’t do his concert thing I’d say locke is the biggest fan of driveshaft of all our characters. make of that what you will, it’s just funny picturing Locke listening to and enjoying Charlie’s music. i also see him liking Johnny CashShannon: doesn’t like Driveshaft. i imagine she enjoys pop music. the kind you can dance and bop ur head to in a club or something. she was also a ballet teacher so i figure she has at least a passing interest in classical music. we also cannot forget the time she sang La Mer for Sayid and it was beautifulHurley: also did not enjoy Driveshaft (i keep mentioning that because i’ve kept track of who doesn’t and does like Charlie’s music, it amuses me). i hadn’t thought about this before but i can genuinely see Hurley enjoying hip hop & rap music. imagine him attempting to sing along to a fast paced verse but fumbling but he’s enjoying himself anyways and even making up words. great. also i just remembered hurley had a walkman for like the first season until it broke and that provided a variety of background music. i cannot recall genres tho. but basically hurley has good taste and fuck this show uses music wellMichael: canon into bob marley so michael must be into reggae. easy going listening, something you can roll your shoulders toCharlotte: she seems to love Geronimo Jackson (a fictional band within the lost universe) and based on their era (the 70s) and their cover art, i presume this shit was hippie-ish and psychedelic. maybe funky too. since she’ll be dating daniel, she’ll have to tolerate driveshaft and she personally considers them OkayMiles: EMO. The little boy smiles brightly, his tears now long gone. He goes on to extend both hands, palms up as if he’s asking where? Followed by the previous sign which means Dad. Harry smiles to himself at the amazing little guy standing in front of him.

He stands up taking the boy’s hand, “Let’s go find your dad,” he tells him making the motion with his hand.

Just having come out of the closet and recovering from vocal surgery, famous recording artist Harry Styles needs to get away from LA to work on new music needing to prove to his label that his career isn't over. It’s not a cycle he’s proud of, but it’s also something he can’t resist, and he keeps doing it as long as Louis keeps showing up. AU. It's been a year since Louis broke up with Harry.

“Sounds good.” Harry pulled back from the window and threw himself onto one of the beds. Once he got comfortable, he steeled himself and then went for it. “It’s been too long this time, Lou,” he finally whispered. He watched as Louis bit his lip and nodded slowly.

“I know,” Louis agreed, just as quiet in return. “We have to swear to never go this long without seeing each other again. Two months is just...unacceptable. I’m gonna go now, but I’ll see you soon. ‘Kay?”

“Yeah. See you. Be safe,” Harry said, far too fondly for his best friend. He couldn’t help it though. It was how he always had been and probably always would be.

They hung up and Harry threw his arm over his face.

“I am so in love with him,” he whined to himself. “Fuck.”

Since you don’t seem to want a polite and civil exchange of opinions on this, and are actually being incredibly rude here (whether you meant for it or not, I don’t know) I hope you won’t mind me keeping this as short as I can. All Might worked in the beginning of the bnha manga as a textbook definition of a deus ex machina, came around, solved an otherwise unsolvable plot point out of the blue bending the laws that had just been established for that universe, and Deku literally (literally) didn’t have to go through any conscious trial, soul-search or any other self-aware journey with the intention of fixing his own problem. All he did was to be heroic and to be quirkless, which for him are circumstances since those are innate traits of his character. And the only singular thing he has is that he’s quirkless, his heroic personality is shared by all of UA (Mina acted in the exact same way in Kirishima’s backstory as he did to save Bakugou, didn’t get any cool op powers out of it)

All Might was supposed to give OfA to Mirio, the literal most heroic character in bnha, a boy who had been working his ass off to become a proper hero since he was a child, but instead he found a quirkless kid and decided that he deserved a chance to become a hero too. I’m not saying that’s not true, or that Deku didn’t deserve it. I’m saying that he didn’t actively or consciously do anything to gain that power. He simply acted in a way true to his self, and that was it.

I’m gonna have to make present to you that the next time I get an ask with that tone in my inbox I’m blocking you without answering. I’m not here to be called an idiot by the first random stranger I find online, if you want a conversation with me all I’m asking is for you to be polite, that’s not too much at all in my opinion.

Bakugou has an inferiority complex from hell and suffers constantly from his own inner turmoil, todoroki has an an abusive father with a horrid childhood, iida's brother/idol was paralyzed and almost killed, shigaraki unknowingly killed his parents as a child, toshinori may still be alive, but all might (the hero) is gone to the world forever,

eri was used and experimented on HER ENTIRE LIFE, believing she was a disease to the world and could only cause suffering. I could go on for pages about the suffering these characters have ALREADY gone through- but that is okay, because the story is better for it. Because we as an audience wouldn't have cared nearly as much for deku's gain of one-for-all, if it wasn't for the trials and turmoil he faced his whole life living as a quirkless child;

Bnha is a positive story, but it does not rely solely on positivity to get by. It is a story about determination; to push back against adversity, to go on even in the face of the unknown or impossible; even if fate itself is against you. It's about climbing your mountains and beyond that, dare I say, beyond plus ultra. It's is not trying to adhere to its genre, it's is trying to be everything the genre could be and more, and as succeeded thus far.

Which is why I can understand the disappointment from the last anon, because solving everything through friendship and "hand holding" has become a norm in this genre specifically- and bnha is anything but quick and easy ways out.

Sorry if this is long, and I really hope you don't take this as an attack against you or your opinion. If that is all bnha is to you, and if that is how you perceive the show, who am I to say you are wrong. But I hope you understand what I have said at least, because you still are a huge inspiration to me as an artist and in this community. Hope the rest of your day goes alright.

Alright, first off, if you don’t want to come off as condescending try and maybe don’t be condescending. I’m nearly sure you didn’t do this consciously, considering how you ended the rant, but going “are we even reading the same story” when you supposedly want a civil exchange of opinions is the worst thing you could do ever. You pretty much said “I don’t wanna disregard your opinion but here is a list of reason why you’re wrong and I’m right”, please next time you mean to keep it civil try and avoid that, because that sounds just as bad as you’d assume.

Second, I thank you for the recap of all the tragic backstories bnha gave us, but my answer was about conclusions to arcs, not beginnings. I literally never once said that bnha is a happy-go-lucky story from start to end, I only said it made an habit of reaching for the best possible conclusion it could ever go for by the end of every arc up until now.

“The story starts off with a weak, defenseless deku being beaten by his once best friend”, sure (aside from the “once best friend”, Deku and Bakugou were never friends to begin with, please do reread the second Kacchan vs Deku for Bakugou’s view on their relationship) that’s how the story starts, and it ends with Deku with the strongest quirk on the planet, mentored by his childhood hero, with a civil and friendly rivalry with his childhood bully, on his way to become the number one hero, happy and loved and respected. “”Bakugou has an inferiority complex from hell and suffers constantly from his own inner turmoil” again, sure, and he could have given in to it and become a villain or let his terrible personality just become worse and worse, every single bad thing happened to him could have made him closer to a bad guy or given him good reasons to go against the heroes, and instead he’s working to become better, is loved and cherished, has friends that will build him up and care for him and risk their lives for him, and is actually in a way healthier place than he was in the beginning. “Todoroki has an an abusive father with a horrid childhood” SURE and now he’s got his mother back, he’s learnt to be the bigger person and put distance between himself and his father to instead use him to reach his own goals, is happy and has friends and, again, he’s supported and loved and is in a way happier place than he was in the beginning. “Toshinori may still be alive, but all might (the hero) is gone to the world forever” yes, and in any other manga the reveal would have brought a whole damn lot of drama and people calling him a fraud and turning against him, but instead that scene is the most heartwarming one in the whole manga, the whole world supporting and loving him and yelling his name to cheer him on

I could go on, but I think I made it pretty clear? Every single arc, be it a character arc or a story arc, starts tragic to end up with the most positive outcome you can have for it. There isn’t one arc that has had a tragic conclusion yet. So is it really that weird for me to think it’s believable and not surprising at all that Eri’s story, for however tragic it might have started as, could also have a happy ending? That this manga never tried to present itself as one in which things can and will turn out for the worse?

I’m not even sure exactly what your incredibly long ask was about, man. What were you trying to prove to me? Which part of the answer I gave were you trying to disprove? You just went on about how sad everyone was at the beginning of the manga as if that proved somehow that Horikoshi isn’t actively working to give everyone the happiest future they could have. 

A recap of my answer is: “I personally don’t mind Eri having a fix-it quirk because it fits well in Nighteye’s plot and falls perfectly in line with how every other arc has turned out for the best up until now”

And you came at me with an eight asks long rant that can be summed up in “you’re wrong because people in the beginning of the story were sad”

Listen. I’m always open to conversations about different opinions and takes on a story. But, again, I’m gonna need you to be polite about it and open to an equal exchange. Simply going at the end “I hope you won’t feel attacked” and “have a nice day” isn’t enough if for the rest of the rant you talked to me as if you were assuming I’m an idiot. And I’m actually gonna need you to properly read my answers before trying to follow up with them, next time. Please. I love all your muses because of how they work together, because of what they do, because of how FUCKING DIVERSE they all are, because of the storyline that connects them, because of the brilliant concept of your blog, because of their blood, because of how even by putting them in groups like sins and cards, everyone has their own way of standing out and rising above everything they are and aren’t, and everyone is so defined in who they are and how they act and react, how Kihoon speaks compared to how Ambroise curses, JESUS, I could talk for ages.But I did realise yesterday, actually, while talking to you, that Ambroise is probably my fave. I’m gravitating towards Gilbert at the moment because I’m curious about him, but Ambroise will always hold a special place in my heart.

With me or with others? I love our Hoon & Ambroise interactions because it’s very important to me (I think Amber’s the first of your muses I interacted with on dcmnation?). The way I got to slowly start to learn about everything your blog is about, the way having Hoon interact with Ambroise really helped me better define who he is as a person and even helped me come up with a backstory for him, the way that writing against Ambroise better prepared me for when threads go into completely unexpected directions, I think having Hoon interact with Amby seriously helped me grow as a writer.

Fuck. FUck. It is… it is simply brilliant. Their backstories, their personalities, the reason they are here today and how it all came to be, once you find out about it you realise how incredible and huge and astounding it all is.

Em, perfect? I mean, it is so recognizable, and so incredible, and you play around with formats and bold and cursive like I dunno but the way you use the entire English language to convey what your characters are up to is the best.

That I wish anyone out there would hit her up for roleplaying because it is SO WORTH IT, no matter if the plot may scare you off for a moment, it is so worth it.

I think, and I say I think because I don’t want to like cross a line here and assume, she’s very reliable. She’s kind and understanding, she meets you halfway, she never judges you for having to ask two or three more times because you didn’t get the answer the first couple times, she shares the things she likes (i see this as an awesome quality because I adore watching people talk about the things they enjoy) and welp, I dunno, I just like her entire being.

What I Think Are Their Strengths:

Probably that she does things she wants to do with her muses without asking anyone’s permission (not when others are involved of course). I don’t know if I’m right, or wrong, and I am terribly sorry if I’m assuming something here, but I don’t have the courage to do half the things you do, and I really admire you for throwing your characters around however you want.

Because her world-building is fantastic, her characters have a tonne of things to offer, and she herself seems to be such an easy-going person, who seems to stay firm in her beliefs no matter what which I love and admire because y’know I for one had only one instance where someone tried to convince me to ignore one of my rules and I almost relented because I can’t say no, so that’s cool.

How Others Should Approach Them:

Respectfully! And keep in mind that everyone has a life outside of Tumblr and is their own person and should be respected as such. She’s older than me and I have no right to say I’d like to defend her from shit, but if you fuck her over and she involves me, shit will go down.

Hmm, @littlcstarling  ‘s got a bunch of interesting muses that you might like or feel like you can have your bunch of muses play around with (not in the literal sense, but even then); @oflegendaries has a HUGE repertoire of muses and they’re all incredibly interesting both the canon they choose to portray and their original characters there’s a lot to choose from and looking at their Eliza makes me wanna write a Ham-ham for some reason; @haebxtna  ‘s got a super sweet and interesting character to offer and I love both her and the mun to death so go interact with her once she’s back from her hiatus; @martyrlost because Clarrie’s the best and while the snk characters on the account might not be your thing, she’s got other canon characters to offer, perhaps you’d get along?

OTP week 2017

Pairing: Taichi and Yamato Prompt: Freebie Summary: A short story in which Taichi really wants to go to a very special soccer match. It’s pretty ambiguous, so it can take place within 02′s canon. Taiyama, Taito. Author’s Notes at the end.

“I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go!”

Yamato heaved a heavy sigh. He was lying on the couch in his living room, bass guitar in hand, plucking away, while admittedly tuning out most of Taichi’s incessant whining.  

“I don’t get it,” Yamato finally addressed the pouting teenager after several minutes of hoping he would just drop it and shut up. “You weren’t this upset about not being able to go a few months ago.”

“I didn’t know then that Blue Impulse would be performing.” Taichi responded from where he was lying on the floor, stomping his foot as he did so.

Yamato paused his playing momentarily as he tried to place the name. He gave up when nothing immediately came to mind. “Who?”

“What do you mean who? Do you ever listen to me when I talk?” Taichi complained, as he turned his head slightly to look at him.

This caused Yamato to huff in annoyance before asking “What type of bass is this?”

Taichi looked taken aback by the question. He lifted himself up on his arms, presumably to get a better look at the instrument. After a few seconds of staring at it with his eyebrows furrowed he responded “A red one?”

“She’s a 1969 Fender Mustang” Yamato replied swiftly before asking “What song was I playing earlier on my harmonica before you went off on your tangent?”

“Wha? I… I don’t know, why are you asking?” Then his eyes widened and he slumped over in embarrassment. “Okay I get it,” he said begrudgingly. “Blue Impulse is the aerobatic demonstration team of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.”

When Yamato raised his eyebrow Taichi spoke again, “They do tricks with their planes in the air” he made a looping motion above himself with his hand, “for show,” he added as an afterthought. “If you followed the Winter Olympics in Nagano you probably saw them, they performed that year. That was my first time seeing them. They were amazing!”

Yamato didn’t really follow sports, except baseball. He’d rather play the sport than watch someone else play it. He did enjoy sitting in on the occasional Olympic game though. He couldn’t deny it was quite the spectacle, but aerobatic aircrafts weren’t ringing any bells. Still, it was finally starting to click why Taichi wanted to go so badly. “So, they’ll be performing at the opening?” He had forgotten that these types of tournaments often had performances before the match.  

“Yeah, and it’s going to be unforgettable I just know it. The lineup this game is really good too. Suzuki’s style is so unique, I really want to see it in person, and…”

At this point Yamato chose to tune Taichi out once again, and return to his plucking. After letting him go on for what he felt was a sufficient amount of time he said frankly “You know you can’t afford the tickets. Just let it go.” It was true, the starting price was over 22,000 Yen, and Taichi didn’t have a job.

“I can’t believe my two passions are meeting up like this and I’m going to miss it!” he threw his hands over his face in frustration.

“You aren’t going to miss it, you can still watch it on TV.”

“It’s not the same.”

Yamato knew it was true. It was like the difference between being at a concert and seeing it on TV, but he couldn’t handle this amount of pouting from Taichi. It wasn’t even the cute pouting, it was just the annoying kind.

Taichi heaved a very heavy sigh and stilled in defeat.

No further words were spoken for a while as Taichi stared blankly up at the ceiling and Yamato continued to pluck his bass, unsure of what to say. He didn’t like seeing Taichi still upset, but was relieved that he had at least stopped whining. Though now, having nothing to focus on, Yamato’s mind began to wander. He thought of the way Taichi’s face lit up even while watching amateur games, and how euphoric he was when Yamato had gone with him to the Tokorozawa Aviation Museum. Tickets would cost more than all of Yamato’s savings he’d earned from his gigs thus far. He could borrow the remainder from his father, it wouldn’t be the first time, but it still seemed like too much to spend on a soccer match. Yet Yamato knew it would be completely worth it to see the look on Taichi’s face, not just when he gave him his ticket, but the whole way through the opening performance and the match.

“Piano Man” Taichi said suddenly.

“What?”

“The song you were playing earlier, it was ‘Piano Man’… I just remembered.”

“Oh… yeah, it was.”

“Sorry.”

Yamato smiled, “So, you want to fly with Blue Impulse one day? Or would you rather be one of the players on the field?”

“Dunno, I’m still thinking about it.”

“Me too”, Yamato responded, only to clarify a moment later, “about my future that is.”

The boys sat in silence for a few more minutes before Taichi spoke. “I like the one you were playing the other day. It was new… to me at least.”

“The other day?” Yamato had to think for a moment before he remembered. “Oh, right,” he said as a blush slowly formed on his cheeks.

“What’s that one called?”

“I don’t remember,” he lied.

“Huh? No way.” Taichi looked skeptical but didn’t pressure him further. “Can you play it again?”

Yamato didn’t respond with words but leaned his bass gently up against the side of the couch before picking up his harmonica and raising it to his lips. He blew into it and the cheerful tune of “Head Over Feet” filled the room.

Author’s Notes:

The title is a reference to the date of the match Taichi wants to go to. The match is Japan vs Belgium in the 2002 Fifa World Cup.

Takayuki Suzuki really was on the field that day. He is well known for his defensive pressure on other defenders to force them to make mistakes, that is what makes his style different from others. I actually looked up all the players that were on the field that day and chose him because I thought Taichi might single him out due to this trait.

Shout out to my friend (DeAlice)’s awesome bass playing boyfriend who tipped us off on the fact that Yamato has a 1969 Fender Mustang in 02. Due to how expensive this bass would be to purchase nowadays (and also in the early 2000s) we HC that the bass is a hand me down from his father. Unfortunately, in Tri he often has a Sting Signature bass instead of the 1969 Fender Mustang. Since the outer designs of the two are very similar, we think it’s likely an animation error on the part of the Tri animators, so we are sticking with the 1969 Fender Mustang. Plus, this fic does not take place in the Tri timeline so the 02 bass is the important one.

Also, DeAlice was the one who inspired me to make Yamato refer to his bass with female pronouns.

Blue Impulse performed at the Winter Olympics in 1998, which were held in Nagano.

Based on my research, I believe the pricing of the tickets is accurate, but don’t quote me.

I know it is never directly stated in the Adventure Universe that Taichi loves airplanes but he loves them in V-Tamer, and I choose to believe he loves them in Adventure as well. You can pry this HC from my cold dead hands! It is honestly one of my favourite things about Taichi. While we are on the subject, I also HC that Taichi’s goggles have the same backstory in Adventure as they do in V-tamer, and this is another HC you can pry from my cold dead hands.

Brawler - British Strong Style/Bullet Club Imagine

(I wanna just apologise for so much Bullet Club writing XD I’ve been trying to write this character with BSS in another way but I imagined her as too much of an aggressor.)

The grin on her face could only be described as manic and jovial as her boot repeatedly stomped her opponents head off of the mat, her hands gripping the girl’s limp wrists and the ref had all but given up in his attempt to pull her off of her. She didn’t even remember her name. She was just another in the growing number of competitors that had been given to her by the WWE during this tournament. She didn’t even really care about it all. She just wanted to win. To win, and to beat the shit out of as many people as she could on her journey to the top. So she could take that trophy and that belt and stick the middle finger in Triple H’s stupid face as she walked out from signing that stupid fucking contract with both in hand. She just couldn’t wait to get her hands on some actual WWE talent to show the universe what they were missing in her. She wanted to give them a taste that had them wanting more before she’d walk away again. Hoping that they’d follow. And they probably would. They had before. Back when she was a little younger. Had some more friends. Before she’d fucked them over for her new friends.

“Come on you fuckin’ waste of what you call muscle. Fight back” The south Londoner screamed down at the girl who was mostly limp at this point, laughing when the girl actually attempted a weak struggle. It just got her face stomped down harder against the mat.

When Tyler’s entrance music started up though the grin was wiped from her face in an instant. She hadn’t seen or spoken to him since that night that she’d turned on him and the rest of British Strong Style for Bullet Club. She’d wrestled with that decision back then. Almost not going through with it but after a year of living it large across the rest of the world she couldn’t bring herself to care. In fact she was more than glad that she’d done what she did. She just hadn’t thought that Tyler would hold the grudge for this long. She’d expect it from Pete. The Bruiserweight had a tendency for holding grudges for a long time.

Bate made his way down the ramp, getting a pop from the mostly British crowd as he did that stupid wave, and didn’t make eye contact until half way down. And when he did it was just to give her this cocky little smirk that made her frown. She really hated it when they acted over confident. Though it did make it far more satisfying when she finally beat it out of them. Too bad she couldn’t bring her trusty bat with her for this. Tyler stopped at the bottom of the ramp, waited for just a second before he grinned and pointed back up the ramp as further entrance music started and the eldest of the former tag team stepped out. She didn’t know what was going on. They weren’t a tag team here. They were two separate entities now. And with Pete being the big bad guy now she hadn’t been expecting this. Trent’s eyes found hers almost immediately and the friendly wave he tossed her way just made her scowl angrily, her upper lip rising in distaste for the man. When he found himself level with Bate the two started towards the ring before pausing, Trent lifting his hand to smack his forehead like he’d just forgotten the most obvious thing in the world, and the two backed up slightly to tilt their heads up the ramp while grinning at her.

Then Pete’s music had started and if her heart had leapt to her throat for a second then that was gonna stay with her and she definitely didn’t flinch in any way. He appeared at the top, arms raised before lowering his fists to his chin as his mouth snarled around the belt held between his teeth. Eyes on hers and a look in his eyes that told her that he was very much not over what had happened a year ago. He stormed down to the ring, Trent and Tyler following suit and she could hear the crowds around them chanting for them. This was the first time that their tag team was being seen as ‘canon’ within WWE. ‘British Strong Style!’ chants coming from all around her and as soon as they slipped through the ropes she’d stomped her foot hard twice against the mat. The signal for the Buck’s to slip out from under the ring as she screamed to the three men in front of her.

“You arsehole’s really wanna do this ‘ere? Now?” The Young Bucks had both looked a little lost for a second at the situation before both scrambling under the bottom ropes and moving to her sides. “You’re looking a little outnumbered ‘ere lads.”

“Looks like a pretty even bout to me.” Pete jutted his chin on, taking a few threatening steps forward only to watch her smirk as her eyes shifted passed him and up the ramp.

“Not from where I’m standing it don’t.” the three of them all swivelled their heads around, almost in synch, to spot the members of bullet club now standing at the top of the ramp watching them with narrowed eyes and she laughed. “There’s more where that came from. Did you honestly think that they was gonna let me come ‘ere alone? Without any back up?” she scoffed “fuckin’ morons.”

“You need all that to take us out? Sounds like you’re fucking scared.” Pete jeered and smirked at the visible angry shudder he got from her.

“Nah. I could take all three of you dickheads on my own. One ‘and tied behind my back. But I’ve got a fuckin’ tournament to win don’t I?” she stretched her arms out slightly, motioning around them. “This honestly couldn’t ‘ave waited for another time? I mean, I get that you miss ‘avin’ me about and all that, but I moved to bigger and better things.”

“And now you’ve just ended up in exactly the same place.” Tyler chirped up from next to Pete and she just scoffed again, shaking her head as she started to pace a little on the spot.

“Ah, no, no, no, no. Fuckin’ no. I dunno what you’re fucking on about mate. You lot came ‘ere for the money. I came ‘ere to make a fucking statement.” She hammered her finger against her chest with one hand, the other coming up to push through her already messy hair. She paused her pacing for a second to toss a shrug at them “I’m not gonna say what it is just yet. I’m not fuckin’ stupid enough to do somethin’ like that. But I ain’t like you lot. You’re all fuckin’ sell outs ain’t ya.” She held out a hand, stopping Dunne in his tracks when he’d let out a snarl and had started to go for her again, yelling out loudly as she backed up slightly. “Oi! Oi, ‘old up a minute! I’ve still gotta get the fucking pin, dun’I? Fuckin’…” she trailed off with a shake of her head and turned her body so she could rest a foot under the girl still on the floor’s shoulder and flip her before sitting that same boot on her shoulder. She’d looked to the ref, holding out her arms in annoyance “are you gonna come fuckin’ do this so I can go beat the fuck out of them again or what?” the ref, who’d slid out of the ring a while ago, just stood there, eyes nervously flickering between her, the Bucks and the Brits until she let out a heavy sigh and looked to the Bucks, pointing down to the girl “you wanna…?” At once Nick dropped to the floor, imitating the official as he slammed out the three count with his palm against the mat. As he got to his feet she gave the girl a few hard kick until she could just nudge her under the bottom rope. “Alright!” she spun back to them with a grin of anticipation “you wanna brawl? Let’s fuckin’ brawl.”

Character Studies: Sailor Uranus VS Sailor Uranus.

 Many people are a mix bag when it comes to Sailor Uranus. Usually people hate all incarnations of her or they hate the manga/Crystal version but like the 90s version. For me, it’s the opposite. I HATE Sailor Uranus in the 90s anime, but I love her so much in the manga and even in the Crystal version. I’m gonna be going over first why people hate Uranus/Haruka in the manga/Crystal version and why I and as well as some others hate her in the 90s version. 

From what most people complain about Uranus/Haruka in the manga/Crystal version is how she kissed Usagi, causing her to feel guilty about cheating.

First off, it’s never really stated why she does this but her “being a flirt” isn’t based on her personality. Haruka in Crystal/manga isn’t that kind of person. A very strong reason that’s more hinted in the Crystal version, is that Haruka was confusing her protective feelings towards Usagi for attractiveness and more so attractive to how naive and innocent Usagi is. She admires that in her. It’s the same with whoever is around Usagi. She’s got this aura that causes people to feel attracted to her and being Uranus spent most of her time alone guarding the back door on her planet, it might be hard to convey feelings more properly or even respectfully. Usagi even says in the Crystal anime that Haruka was just trying to show Usagi these frustrated feelings. Usagi senses Haruka is sad and kinda lonely because she spent so long being alone. 

Either way, this actually helped both Usagi and Mamoru’s relationship and you’re probably wondering how? Well, they both come clean that they get jealous when either sees the other with someone else. They become more honest with their feelings and that’s part of having a strong relationship. Being honest. This challenged their feelings and coming into ties with not only being honest with each other, but also themselves. Haruka and Michiru stepping in helped Usagi and Mamoru realize that and their relationship becomes a little stronger after that.

Now let’s talk about the big elephant in the room. It’s sad because when I first saw Haruka/Uranus in the old anime when I was a kid, I wanted to like her. I felt like she was suppose to be a better character, especially in the moments when she wasn’t being serious but funny and laid back. However, when she gets back to sailor business, the old anime just makes her unbearable.

First off, everyone hates the manga version but a lot of people love the 90s version and I always wondered why? If that kiss was a big no no in the manga, I wonder did they watch the old anime because what Uranus/Haruka does in the anime is far more worse! Far worse! To the point where I think she is a damn traitor to the Moon Kingdom! 

Yes! That’s right! What Haruka/Uranus and even Neptune since she follows her around, does in the old anime can count as being a traitor to the kingdom!

First, let’s start off with Neptune and Uranus bitchy attitude towards the inner sailors. They believe that the inner sailors won’t be able to handle the ultimate sacrifice. They believe inner sailors are too naive and childish and won’t understand sacrifice...

Oh yeah! That’s why in the first season they died for their princess and their world! Where were Neptune and Uranus when the inners were killed protecting their friend and princess?! Say what you will, “they weren’t thought of yet”, but the way Uranus and Neptune treat them is just sickening and big slap to the face to them! When it was Sailor Moon and her friends saving the day and dying to protect the planet! They saved the world three (four if you count the R movie as canon) times!

Oh, yeah I know. The sailors would refuse to kill another person, but the way it’s handled in the manga is still better! They at least acknowledge the inner sailors as equals, despite disagreeing with them!

Now, here’s the thing. I mainly blame Haruka for this attitude because upon rewatching the old anime, I notice Michiru/Neptune isn’t quite as bad. Michiru/Neptune at times asked or even suggested Haruka if they should help the other scouts. There’s times where she is even more appreciative of the other scouts. Haruka sometimes does that but her nasty attitude comes back and it makes me hate her again. Michiru isn’t as bad as Haruka in terms of this, but she is still responsible for just following Haruka’s way and not going “Hey this is kinda messed up! We should work as a team!”

Now here’s the big traitor thing. Haruka steals the one thing that will save their planet! The thing that belongs to their princess and future queen! The Silver Crystal!

Haruka steals the one thing that she should know would save their world! She steals something from their future queen! The one they vowed to protect! If that’s not an act of betrayal, I dunno what is!  I don’t care what the reason is! They even attack Sailor Moon. They should know that she’s their future queen! 

And also, I know she’s aiming at the brooch but it looks like she’s sexually harassing Usagi! She is harassing her anyway because she’s stealing her brooch from their princess!

I dunno, a kiss that ends up helping a relationship grow stronger or stealing the most powerful thing in the universe, from their own princess, harassing her in the process and eventually, attacking said princess later on! It’s possible that they didn’t know Usagi was their princess at that time, but they should have known she had the silver crystal and put two and two together. How many bun heads do they know have the most powerful item in the universe!? Come on!

“Oh but since the outer scouts agreed to kill Hotaru, against Usagi’s wishes in manga/Crystal, isn’t that an act of betrayal”? No, because eventually, they do come and save the sailors and start believing that Sailor Moon could save their world. That she can some how save Saturn and save their world. Haruka and the other outer scouts wanted to be their friends in the manga/Crystal, but just felt like they didn’t because they had to do this one horrible thing and they didn’t want to do it! They just felt they had no choice! But they came to their aid and believed in Sailor Moon eventually. They admitted their mistakes and just didn’t want their friends nor beloved princess to get hurt. That’s the act of a true hero. That’s the act of Uranus/Haruka’s true personality that was ruined in the old anime! 

Let’s not forget they had no reason to not help the scouts in the Dream Arc in the old anime! None! They just said went off on their own, stopped an evil doll and said “Yeah, we’ll leave it to them!” I know they don’t appear in the Dream Arc in the manga or Crystal, but they had a good reason! They were taking care of their daughter Hotaru and eventually lost the ability to transform, so they couldn’t help even if they wanted too!

And eventually killing Saturn and Pluto in Sailor Stars old anime! They take their missions way too far! I mean, yeah it was to sneak attack back but it failed and again, the manga was far more better! Sailor Stars in the manga was sooo much better!

I love Haruka/Uranus in both the manga and Crystal anime.I feel like I’m both a guy and a girl inside or just feminine and masculine inside. That’s how I feel about myself. Whatever you wanna call it. I want to be as strong and casual as Haruka but still show a bit feminine side too. I admire her laid back but cool personality! Same with Makoto who is my third favorite, but Haruka/Uranus is just a character I admire a lot in that perspective!  I was so relieved to hear that she’s not like this bitchy person in the manga! She’s legit cool and I fell in love with her when I read the manga! I fell in love with her in Crystal. She’s just an awesome character.

Also, I love her design and especially color scheme. The blue and the yellow. Her sword! She’s just awesome! Those colors and even her hair! I wouldn’t have her hair style but it’s awesome on her!

People can hate her manga/crystal version for whatever reason but for me, that whole snatching a kiss thing and seemingly flirting with Usagi, wasn’t that bad because Usagi and Mamoru reconcile (in the most adorable way possible thanks to Chibi Usa) and became more honest with themselves, so something good came out of that. Nothing good came out of stuck up Haruka and her bitchy followers in the old anime!

Now, I understand that yes, in the old anime Haruka and Michiru’s relationship is stronger and I will admit that. Mainly because the old anime had so much filler, but again, a lot of that tend to be ruined by Haruka’s nasty attitude, when it came back to their sailor business. I wanted to like her in the old anime and wanted to like their relationship and honestly, as a couple they’re cute! But again, that nasty, cold, cruel attitude...Ugh! It’s like drinking a nice warm coffee or hot coco, only to find out that the cream you used in it turned sour and it made you sick! That’s what the old anime did to them for me!

So yeah, those are my thoughts. Agree, disagree. I don’t care. More power to you for whatever. This is just my personal opinion. Don’t take it to heart.

Well, Endou is a given of course, but I grew to like Tachimukai a lot when I watched the anime as well.

Natsumi is my all time favourite, but I basically love all of the girls. If I had to pick out just a few of them then I'd also say Rika, Touko, Akane and, oh yeah, Kazeaki Yone is an unsung hero.

All of the main teams are my precious babies, especially when Someoka is there.

The one where they're basically just dressed as school girls. You can be damn sure that whenever I unlock that uniform in any of the games I switch them into it as soon as possible.

I haven't seen any of the movies yet. But I do mean to! Right now I'm rewatching Digimon Adventure 01 & 02 (maybe Tamers as well), but I hope to eventually get back to where I left off with watching Inazuma.

I've never put any thought into it, but given how much we see Tobitaka actually managing his hair I'll go for him again.

I was totally shipping Endou with Natsumi ever since I finished the first game, because I thought they balanced each other out nicely. So when I found out he does get married to Natsumi in one universe I was pleasantly surprised, usually my OTPs never gets to be canon! But I do also support his marriage to Fuyuka in the other universe too. Other characters I'd be happy for Endou to end up with include Kidou, Gouenji and Touko.

The English dub of the games bringing in so many different UK regional accents that I rarely see in media is what makes me smile to my soul. But I'm also going to steal the answer that it made me care a lot for a series about a sport I have no interest in and also showed me that I can call many, many fictional characters my children in the same series.

Eh, it has similar problems to a lot of kids' shonen series, but I love it anyway.

I have a few of the small figure sets that included characters I like, but I did want to get more of them. Maybe I'll get more some day.

Cautiously optimistic? On one hand I am a little sad that all the developments I liked are being erased, though I guess they'll still exist in the other universes. But on the other hand I am curious enough to pick up the game anyway, if it actually gets a UK release... I would have also rather that they went with an entirely new cast, but I am hopeful that maybe we might get some more SomeFubu interaction this way. Please let me have that much.

Sadly, I've not experienced much of the fandom, but from what I have seen I love how creative the fans are, how good their sense of humour is about nothing in this series making sense and how they've held on after so many years - as a Layton fan I understand how difficult that can be!

Recognise that its fuckin stupid and bigoted to expect us to believe someone is a villain INSTANTLY after seeing that they're queer, before they even do anything. Don't spend your entire damn game having the characters go "eww its that disgusting person of ambiguous gender we should kill them because gross" rather than.. Yknow.. "Excellus fuckin murdered those people". Recognise that literally doing this is gonna make your character LESS villainous and MORE sympathetic long before you finally get to goddamn showing them do anything bad except say "ohoho i wanna be a princess". And it'll make bunni REALLY PISSED OFF because nobody wants to feel sad for an asshole murderer yet THAT SADNESS IS FOREVER ENGRAINED IN MY SOUL NOW

Seriously fuckin hell it even made the heroes look less heroic! I felt like Excellus was almost justified in becoming a murdering selfish monster if she spent her entire life being treated that way by both sides in this big good or evil conflict. Why the fuck should she give a shit if she's being degraded? Like FUCKIN OBVIOUSLY murdering people and wanting to conquer a random japanese country as a mad dictator is not a remotely logical reaction to being misgendered. But like they could have changed some stuff and made a perfectly good sympathetic villain who gets manipulated by the bigger bad because of her sad past of being treated like shit and like she feels like this is her only option to be herself. And then maybe you can reignite her hope in the world and her self esteem and moral centre and help her redeem herself and team up with you to take out the real horrible fucks with no sympathetic motives. Instead she's friggin played as THE one who's evil cos she has no sympathetic motive. Like that's her whole Thing, she's supposed to just be selfish and greedy and horrid. Your damn bigotry somehow failed your own story as well as failing all trans people ever!

Or like yknow.. If you want an asshole fuckboi then actually write an asshole fuckboi. Scrubby scrub the trans = bad shit from this plotline and you do indeed have a selfish monster who murders a bunch of innocent people and gets his just desserts. You had a ready made simple character archetype and you were so preoccupied shoving your transphobic screed into your game that you fucked it up!

So yeah i think either make this goofy ohoho trans auntie a good character, make the asshole ohoho bad character a cis man, do both at once, or like even i'm not opposed to having a trans villain exist but like seriously make them a synpathetic villain. If they're the only trans character in the plot its already gonna send a bad message if theyre in the role of "worst most underhanded jerk villain", even if it WASNT also transphobic as fuck. So a sympathic trans villain or adding more LGBT characters so it doesnt seem like this one individual was designed to make a statement on your entire feelings for a minority.

like seriously please do not do this stupid thing of mooshing every stereotype together from every LGBT identity and acting like theyre all the same thing?? Like man i fuckin HATE that anime trope that yknow.. The gay man says all this trans stuff cos he's ~just that flambouyant~ Like being a drag queen is what 100% of gay men are, 24/7, and anyone saying theyre a trans woman is just one of those drag queens who's really getting into character. Or just.. I dunno. I cant even wrap my head around what train of logic must have led to that stereotype in the first place! And its so fuckin annoying as a queer person trying to talk about why this is bad queer stereotyping, it just makes me extra sad to straight up not know what pronouns to use for the character so i feel like i'm being just as horrible to them as their creators were. Like man i've only settled on going for "she" for Excellus cos after years of looking into it it does seem like the original japanese was indeed specifically using stereotypes of trans women and not trans men or nonbinary people. Though all languages do seem to call the character male it seems pretty strongly to be a "i believe that trans women are men and can never be women" kind of thing, rathe rthan the character herself calling HERSELF male. She calls herself a woman in both english and japanese, and its just that the english has everyone else use male pronouns for her and added the non-canon "explanation" that she only acts like a trans woman because she has something wrong with her balls. (Ugh!) And in japanese on top of calling herself a woman she also uses feminine (and specifically trans/drag queen coded) variants of "I", and other common speech pattern traits used for negative stereotypes of trans women. Though again we do have other characters calling her a disgusting perverted man instead. Sigh!

Ok ok ALSO BIGGEST FUCKIN FIX! dont draw the character like a horrible distorted cariacature goblin in an entirely different art style to everyone else. Seriously its so annoying how they tried to make you agree with "excellus is disgusting just for acting queer" by LITERALLY DRAWING A DISGUSTING CHARACTER. If you take away the weirdass overdetailed horror movie monster face, there is nothing ugly or even "manly looking" about her! She's just like somebody's perfectly normal chubby aunt or something. You could go out in any street all over the world and see five of her! I hate it cos its almost like psychological manipulation or something? Like i've seen so many lets players who arent bigoted but merely oblivious still agree that excellus is ugly and disgusting and comical because of it, cos all the implications of transphobia/homophobia flew over their heads and all they saw was a character drawn to look monsterous. And just.. This is so common. Its the overwhelming japanese stereotype of trans women. Draw them looking INFINATELY MORE MANLY than the cis male characters. So manly that it really hammers home how "obvious" it is that a man in lipstick or dresses "just looks wrong" and of course there's NO way they could ever pass and ha ha look how deluded they are that they think they look pretty. It's horrid. It really is. Seriously I like to point at Tabitha from Pokemon ORAS for a good counter example, cos he's also an ambiguously transgender character from a game that came out around the same time and by some weird coincidence they look very similar. Except for the literal entire face. The literal entire exact same face, just its drawn hideous and distorted on the one who's supposed to be a negative trans stereotype, and drawn exactly like everyone else on the positive one. And there's not one example in the whole game of anyone calling Tabitha ugly because he looks trans, or even insulting his weight or anything. Same damn character design, just drawn without bias and treated like a human being. I mean seriously right down to them having the small "evil eyes" but with Tabitha he's always drawn with them in a perpetual sort of happy face and then his pose with them looking similar to Excellus is supposed to be a BADASS MOMENT of this comic relief villain showing his worth! And hw literally has red eyes on top of it! His design is even MORE "evil" yet just not drawing it as a stereotype entirely changes the player's perception and he became beloved by many. Whereas with Excellus even the trans people in the audience couldnt relate to her and just felt fuckin sad.

Oh also i guess Excellus is implied to be a trans woman and Tabitha is implied to be a trans man? But i don't think game freak was trying to say anything about trans men being more valid or whatever, cos the first canonical LGBT character of any sort was a trans woman npc in the battle maison. And tabitha being trans isnt really confirmed as clearly as she was. i hope someday theyre able to confirm an LGBT main cast member but until then i will forever hold onto the glimmer of hope that was given to me by Beauty Nova.

Also seriously Tabitha and Excellus both also look EXACTLY LIKE ME IN REAL LIFE so I kinda took Excellus extra hard and latched onto the Tabitha headcanon so much more because it was good healing after all that nonsense. Tho I also did considee nonbinary Tabitha at the time, because his japanese name is a gender neutral one that's merely like 75% female, rather than a 100% feminine one. But then his old RSE design was very masculine so i think maybe a trans man is what they were trying to imply if they did indeed do it on purpose. Anyway i probably would have translated his name as Ashley cos it has the same "technically neutral but more popular with girls" aesthetic while also keeping the same fire pun as Homura. I have no idea how on earth Tabitha is supposed to be a joke, honestly. Tho i meam maybe he's just the one type specialist on the entire poke-earth who doesnt have a joke name?

ANYWAY thank you terrible transphobic stupid manga i read today for reminding me that i love Tabitha. And also the developers love Tabitha. And also all the characters in universe love him, like seriously the only difference between the devon dialogue of him and Shelly is that they mention the other scientists nicknamed him tabitabi. And its so cute how seriously they said it too?? Its like "our boss tabitabi,the most feared and respected genius man".
