I’ll admit my views of Dream are a lot more negative than positive.

I don’t love that he made MCC so competitive, but I get why he did. Speedrunner. Good at pvp. Etc. I still felt it was whiny and not in the spirit of a competition that aims to let the creators have fun (in that the intake form has things like “do you prefer sillies or sweaty” and each team has about an equal amount of both) but like. It wasn’t just him for that. I think MCC is much more fun without him and a few other very competitive people, and getting to see more range in creators is more enjoyable.

I think he’s a bit overhyped; but I’m not gonna cite Wilbur creating the manhunt idea or Minecraft but, it’s mostly just. I dunno, reflexes aren’t everything in this game. And someone being a builder or redstoner doesn’t mean they can’t win pvp, and I feel like he was very… derogatory, toward those types of players. The Grian twitlonger comes to mind.

I think he dropped the ball severely on his own server, and it impacted the lifetime of that story. I think rushing everyone to finish their stories and refusing to communicate is dick behavior, and I especially think that ignoring how the women and non-binaries on his server were treated by fans when a statement from him would have gone a long way is a bit of a dick move. I understand that ADHD can make you bad at communicating, but even support or information in private would have helped, or even an admission that he didn’t know.

I personally think the situation with QSMP, something Quackity was publicly working on for ages, and Dream’s spur of the moment half baked idea for something similar, was and is dumb. I think Tommy’s criticism of it was both funny and justified. Quackity wasn’t secretive about this server. Everyone knew it was coming for a while, and the only true surprise was Quackity having the language mod developed to release during the second week of the server. I think Dream’s meltdown about lack of communication is a little ridiculous all things considered. I do wish Quackity had been more able to curb his own audience away from harassment and stalking, and that Dream would take literally any responsibility for the way his own fans act as well. It’s not impossible to curb your community - if Techno could do it despite us all being notoriously feral (I.e. encouraging his community not to hate on squidkid or reminding us that roleplay is roleplay) then it’s not impossible to make a statement and calm the masses some. Dream’s relationship with his fans is very parasocial and I know he fosters that a lot. I feel it should come with some sense of responsibility. Just like Fit deserved to be called out for what he said about the one mod’s mobs, I think these criticisms are fair. (and watching the clip of Fit being told about the implications, I do think “it was a refrence” was meant to be an apology - it’s sorta just how he talks, but I get if people still dislike it. He has gotten more mindful about it moving forward and now won’t repeat a meme/joke unless he knows it’s not hateful, so he has changed behavior.)

I find him to be generally up his own ass, in other words. Which is whatever - it’s not a sin. I don’t like his stans and they are regularly a more intense type of toxic, but I also think most stans of any creator are insufferable. I mostly just dislike that Dream seems to encourage their behaviour much more. He’s young, and so is his audience.

I think his work with Technodad has been overall helpful especially when it comes to donations to the sarcoma foundation. I understand those who feel uncomfortable about it, and I hope you won’t lash out against Technodad for it. Mans has barely learned Reddit, let him be.

I don’t know what to say about the allegations. On one hand, it’s an awful thing to do and I feel for the victims, especially with having to deal with the stans harassing them for bringing evidence to light. I think the victims deserved far better treatment. I think Dream’s reputation would have been far more favorable if he had at least addressed the situation respectfully, and either owned up to the clear evidence or provided evidence of his own. On the other, I get that again, he’s young and people make mistakes. This does not mean I think his victims shouldn’t have come forward or that what he did was okay - only that I don’t think I was smart enough at 20 to handle sudden and intense fame either. In this case (unless I’ve missed it) it doesn’t seem like his messages actually went anywhere, which is a slight relief. I would feel better about it if he had handled it more seriously, because I’m unsure if he’s really learned anything from that situation besides that he can get away with about anything if he ignores it. As is, it feels unfinished on his end and I wish he would own up.

All that being said, I don’t claim to know much about the guy.

I’ve watched maybe two manhunts and seen a scattered few videos with him involved. I don’t enjoy his style much, it just feels kinda fake to me, idk.

MCC Teams for QSMP Guys

Disclaimer: These aren't official teams or even official predictions or anything. I have no idea if the QSMP guys who aren't in MCC already want to play or even know it exists. I'm just autistic.

RED RABBITS: HBomb94, Philza, Forever, Cellbit

This was the first team that came to me and it all spiraled out of control from here. H is the master of teaching new players, which is good if it's not a whole event of new people (spoiler alert: it is). Philza is also a solid player who knows the Brazilians well enough to teach them how to do MCC and also hold his own just fine. I expect Forever would hold his own just fine. A lot of the games that are hard for newcomers are hard because a lot of MCC guests aren't Minecrafters. I expect Forever to be able to handle himself with an elytra, for example, and H is the SOT king and also a Buildmart enjoyer so he can pick up the slack for the rest. Cellbit may be an unexpected popoff in Parkour Tag with his Esconde-Esconde experience. I'm not sure if he's ever touched an elytra.

Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Cellbit. He can have red puzzle too though, as a treat. And the rest of the spawn puzzles will actually get solved for once!

ORANGE OCELOTS: Roier, Tubbo, Quackity, Punz

Roier is Good At Minecraft but he's also shy about the fact that he's good at Minecraft and not particularly interested in tryharding. He would most likely be looking for a team that isn't throwing on purpose, but also doesn't mind if he's not doing homework for the video game. Pairing him with known goofball Tubbo and good buddy Quackity makes sense for that. Punz is a very versatile S tier. He's fully capable of being a sweaty little bastard, but he's good at not being toxic about it and especially at not getting toxic towards his teammates. I think he could do well with just hanging out with a couple old friends and making sure a new one has a good time.

Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Quackity is the best choice as the full bilingual and least likely to survive in the tunnels.

YELLOW YAKS: Shadoune, Etoiles, Aypierre, Baghera

The French Team. Frankly, I think the chance of Etoiles getting into MCC is pretty slim. He is simply too powerful. Scott has talked before about having enough S tiers and needing more mid and lower tier players and Etoiles would Not help with that. Adding Shadoune and Aypierre to that is honestly a bit ridiculous. Baghera is not a nerf to this team either. She doesn't have nearly as much Minecraft experience as the others but she is learning very quickly. I did nearly switch her out to try and balance this obscenely powerful team. Their big weakness though is their MCC inexperience. Shadoune is the only one who has played MCC before and he hasn't even been in a handful of events yet. Late games with high learning curves could seriously hamstring them.

Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Pierre. I was super super impressed with Pierre's comms with Foolish when they broke into the Federation and I want to see him do comms more.

LIME LLAMAS: Illumina, Spreen, Slimecicle, Mariana

Yeah, okay, this is Pink17 with a twist. This is the only chance we're gonna have to pair Spreen with another S tier though so we gotta take it. To be fair, I don't actually know how good Mariana is at Minecraft. That being said, I do know he's not super comfortable in his English abilities. This is essentially two teams speaking two languages wearing a giant trenchcoat, so I figured it would be best to give them Illumina, king of minding his own business and showing up at the end of the game with half his team's coins.

Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Slime. The Spanish speakers know more English than the English speakers know Spanish and asking someone to sandkeep in their second language in their first MCC is cruel.

GREEN GECKOS: Jojo, Vegetta, Maximus, OllieGamerz

The Spanish Team. I really tried so hard to pair Vegetta with Foolish, but ultimately I think he would just be most comfortable with people who all speak his own language. This is another scary powerful team, by the way. Jojo and Ollie were half the team that got the first canon team with two new players a win since MCC 6 and Vegetta is widely considered to be a Minecraft god. I'm not sure his skills transfer to MCC, but it can't hurt! Maxo is here instead of Mariana despite being more comfortable with English because I couldn't deprive the people of their Slimeriana crumbs, however he's another one whose MCC skill I'm not sure of. He's known mostly for his RP like Quackity Slime and Wilbur, but he also has an extremely dope Create mod house so he's definitely more cracked at the craft than them.

Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Ollie. He's trained for it and studied for it before his first MCC and Vegetta and Maximus should both be able to at least survive dungeon conditions.

CYAN COYOTES: Mike, Pac, Fruitberries, Cubfan

Obviously, Tazercraft come as a duo. Do not separate. For them, I wanted people who matched their energy. Specifically, strange, bewildering, and staggeringly competent, while still making the most baffling decisions you've ever seen in your life. Fruitberries was an obvious choice. I think introducing them to Cubfan might be dangerous lest they give each other ideas for projects, but hopefully they'll be too focused on the games for any old projects to come up. I sure hope none of the games resemble any games Tazercraft have previously designed!

Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Cubfan. He is like the Only guy in MCC who I trust equally as a runner and a sandkeeper which means that I trust him to sandkeep here.

AQUA AXOLOTLS: PeteZahHutt, Jaiden, Fit, CPK

This is just a pretty regular MCC team. Pete and CPK is a very strong combination and I don't expect Fit to be bad at Minecraft, but given the absolute powerhouses that are the French and Spanish teams, I think this is probably fine.

Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Fit. Pete has a habit of making risky plays that don't always pay off. I think the scary teacher voice could check that impulse.

BLUE BATS: Badboyhalo, Krtzyy, Smallishbeans, Grian

Here's a PG team for you, king. You've earned it. Yes, Dave can be PG when they need to be. For the record, I'm deeply curious about what Bad puts down on his sign up sheet for his PGness preference. Either way, this is a team of all around strong players without a standout star. We're looking at a repeat of Aqua29 here.

Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Krtzyy. Everyone on this team can run but Dave enjoys it the least and actually had their first decent time ever playing Sands of Time as a sandkeeper for Aqua29. They've been playing since MCC1 by the way.

PURPLE PANDAS: Scott, Shubble, Foolish, Purpled

This is the part of the teams list when I went "okay I guess I'm making a full ten teams now, so I have to get the guys with standing invitations in". For the record, that's Scott (it's his event), Shubble (she's Scott's bestie), and Wilbur (he was one of the earliest believers). Purpled is here instead of Wilbur because he's Ever So Slightly More Cracked At The Craft, however this team is actually impossible and would never happen in canon. Scott Smajor has made it very clear that he would never put Purpled on the Purple team. Anyway, Foolish is also here!

PINK PARROTS: FireBreathMan, Felps, AntoineDaniel, Wilbur Soot

No but for real, this is the team I couldn't switch Antoine and Baghera on because that would break it.

oh god most of my google drive is full of fic ideas that either wouldn't do well or I just don't feel like writing lmao. one example is that I love coming up with aus of movies but rarely do I actually wanna write them out entirely. one movie au I think about so often but would never get around to writing is an au of the movie Push. Push is not a very good film. it's fun! but it's not good lmao. the concept was SUPER cool to me though. it's a movie about people who have psychic powers that are hunted down by an evil government organization yknow the drill, but the plot is about a guy in his 20s who is a 'mover' (has telekinesis) that's kind of down on his luck and doesn't have much of a life. he gets dragged into a plot to steal a metal briefcase because a 13 year old 'watcher' (sees the future) shows up on his doorstep and tells him she sees the two of them teaming up to find this case and she's convinced it has a shit ton of money in it. a lot of other stuff happens but the main two characters have such older brother/little sister energy that i literally can't stop thinking about crimeboysing it. it would be so fun but I'll never write it unfortunately.

hmm... one of my favorite self indulgent movies to rewatch just for fun is a super cheesy 90s film called hackers. the fashion is peak bad 90s fashion and the plot is so stupid, it's so much fun I adore it. I love rewatching it to cheer myself up

MCC was bound to get Sapnap hyped and his excitement was more than infectious, making you louder and louder with every successful practice

luckily enough, the two of you had been put on the same team, meaning your practice would pay off even more

the nonstop training meant Sapnap basically had to host you for the week leading up to the event, offering you his bed while he slept on the couch

finally, it was time to compete

Sapnap and you were both completely focused on the match and could communicate without having mics on, giving you a bit of an advantage, but shhh don’t tell anyone

the last game between your team and victory was dodgebolt and you put all your trust in Sap when you were eliminated halfway through the game

his last shot flew through the air, hit the other player and your screen lit up with a crown and congratulations from your chat

Sapnap was shouting and you were flying out of your seat to wrap him in a hug

before either of you could stop yourselves, Sapnaps was cradling your face and kissing you with way too much passion to just be spur of the moment

Quackity had been running a massive subathon that lasted the greater part of a week, hosting friends and planning events to gain viewers and subs

you were one of the last people to join his stream, in person, due to your status as his all-time best friend forever

he was completely wired, running off energy drinks and food he had ordered from doordash, so your presence was a breath of fresh air

while he was still glued to his stream, you were able to cook some real food for him, trying to up his energy without making him rely on monster or some other drink chock full of caffeine

but eventually you started to nod off beside him, so while he was still playing a game and talking to chat, you let him know you were going to bed

maybe it was how tired he was, maybe it was the fact that you looked so cute when you were sleepy, but he only leaned over and kissed you, turning back to his screen and saying goodnight

you shuffled out of the room in your tired daze, closing the door behind you, only to realize what happened and throw the door open again

I'm at that time of the month where I just crave MCC with a passion, and I know we're not getting one this month, but still, here's a couple of things I wanna see happen at some point:

Bench Trio team. I don't care who the fourth member is (Sneegsnag), I'd be happy with anyone (Sneegsnag) I just want to see how chaotic the three of them (and Sneegsnag) could be

My absolute dream team of Dream, Tommy, Sam, and Fundy (or Puffy). Listen, I don't know how many chances they would have. I don't know anything about balancing or anything of the sort, I just think this team would be really fun

I need me that MCC16 Acqua Axolotl team again at some point. Listen, I don't care, that team was one of my all-time favorites. It was great and I need more of it in my life

HBomb and Fundy again. Those two together are fantastic. They're great, they're funny, they're impeccable. Gimme more

Tommy and Niki is another duo I'd like to see again. MCC14 proved that they really worked and I wanna see Niki pop off as much as she did there again. Absolute queen sh*t. That survival game, in particular, was incredible

Another duo that I want more of is Sapnap and Tubbo. Hands down. Yes, I know, we got it twice already. I don't care. If Scott Smajor can give us 13 Phil-Wilbur team-ups he can also give us more Sapnap and Tubbo combo. We deserve it

Also, I want to see Quackity, Tommy, and Georgenotfound in a team. I don't know who the fourth member should be. I don't care. the sheer amount of chaos the three of them together would exude would scare off the rest of the competition. They're chaos goblins and absolute menaces to society, it would be perfect

Last one: Tommy with the hermits. Please. Please it would be funny. He would not be able to swear, he would self-combust. Tommy would literally die by the end. I need this.

Misconceptions Regarding MCC14

Recently there have been a load of misconceptions regarding many of the controversies that happened this MCC, especially on Twitter and Tiktok, so I thought I would make a giant post detailing these and why they are wrong so I can scroll through my dash in peace.

1. Hbomb purposely abused a glitch in HITW that got Illumina and Mefs banned from MCC on the practice server. 

This one can easily be broken down into three components: 1. Misinformation about the glitch itself 2. Misinformation about the Mefs and Illumina incident 3. When does abusing a glitch count as cheating?

Firstly, the glitch Hbomb used is actually very common in HITW and has been around since the game was first introduced. The devs know about it and have not made any complaints about it because the usage of the glitch itself is heavily luck based (depending on the ping of the player) and does not guarantee a win to any player who does get it. Take for example PearlescentMoon who has used the glitch repeatedly throughout many competitions (i.e MCC 11), yet has not gained any significant advantage through it because, again, there is still an element of skill required to use it. This glitch is not only known by the devs, but has been used before in HITW. It is not something new that Hbomb exploited as a means of getting ahead.

Secondly, the Illumina and Mefs situation is not at all comparable to the Hbomb one. Illumina and Mefs were using a completely different glitch which did guarantee a win to the player because it allowed the player to afk on the platform and allow the blocks to pass through them. They were not banned for exploiting this glitch, but rather reprimanded by Scott and the devs for not reporting it to them sooner. Mefs and Illumina are still allowed in MCC and only didn’t compete this time because the teams had already been formed.

Finally, in regards to the idea of cheating itself when using such a glitch, the idea that what Hbomb did counts as cheating is absurd considering past MCCs and the various glitches which have been abused as well. I’ve seen a lot of people mention the infamous Wilbur Glitch and I think its a perfect example. The Wilbur Glitch is from the game Rocket Spleef which was not played this MCC but certainly will be in the future. The glitch involves the player becoming stuck in a block and seemingly floating in the air allowing them to basically secure a win without admin intervention. This glitch is much more OP than the glitch Hbomb used, and we have even seen admins purposefully try to kill players for using it (i.e Philza MCC11). However, even when players have purposefully attempted to get it (Wilbur, Phil, Quackity, etc.), I have never seen the fandom react so negatively as to accuse them of cheating. It is not fair to accuse Hbomb of cheating when he abuses a glitch which has been in the game for ages and not do the same with your favourite creators who do a much more busted glitch as well. Personally, I don’t consider either of these cheating, but that’s my opinion.

2. They removed Parkour Warrior because Dream was too good. That’s not fair.

Okay, this one is very simple as its just not true. This falls under the assumption that Dream was the only player to finish Parkour Warrior which is not true (PeteZahHutt completed the course twice and was the first to ever complete it in MCC 6). While the reason the Parkour Warrior map was destroyed in MCC 11 is said to be that EpicLandlord destroyed it because “he was annoyed at how good Dream was at it”, this is mainly a joke (think of the Ranboo being banned from MCC situation, while Ranboo isn’t in MCC there’s no actual beef and he’s not actually banned.) Secondly, if you weren’t around for Parkour Warrior when it was still in MCC, or have only ever seen Dream or Pete’s POV, you might not know, but Parkour Warrior was a miserable game mode (think Build Mart/Bingo but ten times worse because there was no chance to improve your placement other than just being good at Parkour). The game was 10 minutes of pure rage and frustration from competitors, which while entertaining at times, wasn’t the best for content when only two POVs in the entire competition were deemed watchable. This also wasn’t good for a competition because it meant that only two teams at most were progressing (and by a large amount) due to one player while the rest lagged behind. It gave the teams which had Pete and Dream a huge advantage and made the game unfun and unfair to everyone else, so they revamped the game (to Parkour Tag) to make it an even playing field where everyone had a chance to win (in the spirit of MCC). 

3. Scott had an unfair advantage in the competition and should be removed from the Dev Team or the Participants List.

This one is slightly more nuanced and may not have a definitive answer. Yes, Scott does have a slight advantage due to being a part of the dev team in every MCC. However, this MCC was definitely an outlier in that fact. Scott has been known to share info and tips with his teammates in past MCCs, but it has not truly impacted their performance on a significant level because the players knew a majority of the information anyways (the game rules, maps, etc). This MCC was unfair because Scott had a bigger advantage than originally assumed (it doesn’t mean he did it with malicious intent, it just means there was a severe oversight when designing the maps and explaining the rules to players). Also, the idea that Scott was guaranteed a win because he was part of the Dev Team is ridiculous and untrue. 

Scott has always been treated on the same level as any other player and has not been giving special privileges because he helped work on the tournament. Take for example MCC 8. Scott was teamed with Tommy, Philza, and Wilbur, and they were doing very well! Then came (wait for it), Ace Race. Scott experienced a glitch which allowed him to remain with his Elytra activated for half the course and allowed him to skip over multiple checkpoints and placed him in first. However, by skipping over these checkpoints the game corrected his placement and put him in last. This was seen as not fair at the time and the Red Rabbits did complain, to which Noxite responded that there was nothing they could do and Scott would just have to finish the round as normal. This glitch severely impacted the Red Rabbits standings and possibly led to them not being able to compete in Dodgebolt that MCC. Yet, Scott was never treated differently than any other player throughout the glitch despite being a part of the Dev Team.

For the next MCC, I certainly think that Scott should be allowed to play as normal. I truly believe this MCC was a fluke, and although I too felt a little salty seeing my favourite go from 2nd to 30th, I believe that it is not worth getting up in arms about it because at the end of the day there is a whole season of competitions where any team has a chance to win. 

4. They should have restarted the round and allowed the participants to retry the map.

While I too would have loved to see a rematch for Ace Rae, I would like to say that I, and probably many of the people playing, knew that it wasn’t going to happen. Noxcrew is very strict about the way MCC is run, it’s why I think it works so well. However, this means that they will not budge on these rules even in the face of something such as this competition’s Ace Race debacle. In the entire time of MCC, Noxcrew have only once ever restarted a round. This was in MCC 7 during Battle Box after there were server issues causing extreme lag for everyone (and Wilbur and Magistrex blew up their own teammates). It was unlikely that they were going to restart the round due to the mistake, and honestly, it might’ve caused more trouble than good to reset the points and the entire round of Ace Race. 

5. The Spirit of MCC

This last one is more of a general statement than a misconception, but I would like to say that I have seen a lot of newer fans confused and upset about this MCC’s outcome. However, I would like to remind everyone that at the end of the day MCC is a for-fun tournament which brings MCYTs of every background to compete and have fun. Yes, there is an element of competitiveness as it is a competition, but it goes against the very spirit of the competitions to be toxic and rude in spite of not winning or placing lower than you expected. At the end of the day, it is a MC tournament that has no monetary prize other than a golden coin. It is immature to slander, spread misinformation, or send death threats and harassment over such a tournament and I wish shame upon anyone who’s first reaction to not winning or their team not winning was to do such a thing. MCC is a brilliant tournament that has changed the game for how MC Competitions have been done, and it is disheartening to see the hard work Noxcrew and Scott have done be disrespected as such. I hope next MCC the fandom can come together and make this the lovely fandom event it once was.

the moment you found out ranboo got into mcc you instantly ran into the room you were sharing pulling him into a hug you were honestly so proud of him and he was going to be with tubbo

unfortunately, you weren’t going to be in mcc this month but that didn’t stop you from being over the moon for your friend. when it was finally time for mcc you wished your friend good luck and apologised for not being able to watch his pov as you weren’t about to break the tradition of watching Tommy after all he was your first and biggest supporter. 3 hours later the event ended and everyone who was watching ranboos pov heard you faintly screaming at Tommy over discord whilst tubbo sat laughing and ranboo was concerned, he heard from Tommy that you would often yell at him however he didn’t believe that he was being honest

from then the four of you would constantly stream with each other on the mcc training server, you were a strong team when you weren’t yelling at each other.

time flew by soon enough it was the 28th of August. Tommy genuinely couldn’t believe it his best friend was in mcc and on a team with him and he genuinely believed you all had a decent chance in winning as you were a strong team. Tommy invited you over to stream mcc he claimed it was because there would be three people trying to stream in the same room, in reality, it was because he wanted to see your reaction and be there for your first mcc.

Tommy let you stream from his room he had spent the previous night getting advice from tubbo on how he managed to set up so he could stream with ranboo in the same room.

you and Tommy set up and joined the discord call and the mcc server, it was finally time. similarly to ranboo this was something you had wanted to do since Tommy told you all about it on your way home from school one day. 30 minutes later it was time for the games to begin and this is where the chaos began.

being close friends with technoblade gave you an advantage you didn’t expect due to the fact he helped to “train” you for your first mcc which ended up being the reason you were able to catch them all and then helped the others avoid being caught

so far everything was going well you were currently in 4th place and your team had high hopes. you all felt the need to confirm to your chats that you’re all not actually mad at each other and not to worry about everything.

the next game was survival games ranboo wasn’t ready for this due to the last mcc where he died pretty early on, it started well you all stuck together as a team until the game was nearly over and you got distracted by a chest and ran away from the others whilst they were fighting another team this ended up being a happy accident in disguise you got the notification that Tommy tubbo and ranboo were killed fighting another team

the next game was battle box the four of you had been practising this a lot so there was a lot of pressure to do well especially since you were now in the top 3 on the leaderboard, the strategies you made from practicing paid off you managed to win the majority of the rounds, however, there was a lot of screaming and arguing during the last round

tubbo was honestly playing well during this game and you were amazed

during the break before the last four games, the four of you sat making plans for the next few round

there was still a rather long break left so you did what anyone else would do run around the server and yell this was a huge mistake as it messed with the soundproofing resulting in tommys mic picking you up and vice versa

tubbo ended up doing the same to the soundproofing in the room he was in with ranboo were in meaning all four of you were now having a scuffed stream as you ran out of time to fix it because before you knew it, it was time to play sky battle

you did the same thing techno did in the pride mcc and hid occasionally breaking blocks from underneath people so they would fall the others were doing well the game was a mixture of you all encouraging each other and you all cursing each other out whilst ranboo ignored you all and spoke to his chat

and tubbo would be corrected that that statement, you ended up having a visual glitch making it difficult, Tommy would constantly get trapped in a dungeon like last time things weren’t loading for ranboo you had no idea what tubbo was doing and quite frankly you didn’t want to find out unless it was going to be good news and considering all you could hear was tubbo yelling anything that came to mind you could guess it wasn’t going well. you tried to rage quit a couple of times only to be yelled at by the others every time you disconnected from the server

luckily you all managed to do pretty well, Tommy was off to a great start you tubbo and ranboo weren’t far behind you all agreed to follow each other rather than the crowd which paid off as when everyone else went the wrong way rather than following you all managed to go the right way thanks to ranboo yelling he thinks that he knows where to go and thankfully he was correct which put Tommy first tubbo second ranboo third and you fourth, you all ended up lapping people on your final lap and honestly, none of you guessed this would happen but you weren’t exactly complaining. a few moments later you all crossed the finishing line and were the first team to finish giving you the bonus points you needed to push you to second place

you nodded and quickly grabbed everything you needed thankfully your good luck hadn’t come to an end yet as you and Tommy were able to catch one of the last trains, Tommy had an arm around you as he noticed you were getting tired after all you did just go through the stress of your first mcc to over 170k viewers you ended up falling asleep on his shoulder a few hours passed and you were at the last stop Tommy lightly tapped your shoulder

The new red rabbits team is great considering dsmp canon. You have c!Dream (self-explanatory), c!Sapnap who currently is not at all fond of him, c!Quackity who hates his guts (and who has also been his handler (?) for the last mcc and also this one), c!Michael who really just happy to see/simp over him (and who also may be trying to create a distraction by blowing up Ace Race to he can escape with c!Dream in the chaos). The canon dynamic is unparalleled, hilarious, and also horrifically tragic.

RIGHT !! and with the buddy system in mcc which means people are more likely to get put together if they choose each other?? Ooh BOY that’s made for some interesting angst in my head… hope you don’t mind me kind of spinning off from this ask to write a little thing GSKSBDK !!

“Who’d you pick?” Quackity asks after a session one day, where the world floats just out of Dream’s reach and is red and painfully hot against his fingertips. “For MCC?”

His voice is deliberately light — Dream would be a fool not to recognise this as a warning to tread carefully. Swallowing, trying to tether himself to reality again to comprehend the question (and pick the right answer), he forces his eyes open, whimpers incoherently at the pain raging throughout his body (is it worse than usual?). Quackity is standing above him, lava pours behind them, the cell is as bloodstained as ever, nothing changes, nothing ever changes.

Except it has. Except it will. Because MCC is coming up again, and as much as Dream had hoped to escape by the last, he knows at least Quackity will have to cease torture for a week or so before it to let them both train, if not to perform well then for the social aspect of the training server. Dream’s head spins at the thought of being allowed out: but from the blurry furious look on Quackity’s face, it’ll be a while before he gets that luxury.

“You,” he rasps out as he’s supposed to, once he can speak again, “I asked to be on a team with you.”

Quackity’s smile is hard and unforgiving. “You know, that’s what I thought, because, you know, that’s what I’d asked you to do,” he says, faux-cheerily, and Dream cringes back against the wall at the other’s frustrated laugh, “and somehow I just fucking know Sapnap wouldn’t have picked Michael, and wouldn’t be on this team unless someone picked him.”

Dream’s heart lodges in his chest, skipping a beat. This could go badly for him. “…Why would I want Sapnap?” He asks, hoping to any god listening that Quackity is listening. “He said he’d kill me if he saw me again.”

“Well, that’s what you told me,” Quackity agrees smoothly, “which is why I think it’s interesting that when I look at the buddy system that chose the teams this month, it shows you picking him.”

He smiles resentfully at Dream’s telling silence.

“Trick fucking question. You know, I wanted very badly to hear the truth from you, so I’ll ask again.”

And Dream’s breath hitches and it takes everything in him not to fall to pieces when Quackity’s bloodstained axe rests at his throat, the younger’s eyes dark with anger he doesn’t quite understand — surely he should be happy that Sapnap is on their team, surely he should be delighted that his fiancé will be there to work alongside him — but he knows in the end it won’t matter. Because he’s won.

So he answers Quackity as bravely as he dares. “I chose Sapnap,” he admits, and the axe tightens at his throat, “I— wanted to see him again. I wanted to see a familiar face other than… you. So I chose him.”

He swallows tightly, closing his eyes. He knows the buddy system. He knows how it works, knows the ins and outs of how teams are chosen.

“If you chose me and I chose Sapnap, that means— means that Sapnap also chose me or you. And Michael chose the other.” He sucks in a breath through pained lungs, knowing Quackity’s silence means he’s right. “So no. I didn’t choose you.”

And because he’s won, he doesn’t mind more than usual when the axe slams into him and dispels any sort of rational thought from his head. Because he’s won, Dream lets Quackity feel like he’s winning here — he screams until his voice gives out again, lets himself respawn once, twice, three times, until Quackity stumbles out with vicious promises of returning tomorrow. Because he’s won, Dream lies in the cell on one heart and coughs up blood and grins deliriously, because he’s won.

This won’t last much longer. He’ll train. He’ll compete. And after MCC, he’ll try to escape. And Sapnap will kill him.

And he’ll have won, because the Revive Book will die with him, and Quackity will be so mad and won’t have anyone to take it out on.

Sapnap’s face crystallises in his mind, and Dream lets his mind drift as he focuses on his old best friend’s face. He’ll see him soon enough — maybe he’ll get to apologise before Sapnap kills him.

Don’t let me down, he wills Sapnap, darkness fogging over his vision, I’m counting on you.

Techno inwardly groans. He knows that tone of voice; it usually precedes some awful joke, or indicates that Quackity's about to take off all his clothes and attempt to sell cocaine to people again. Possibly both. In a desperate attempt to avoid whatever shitstorm is coming his way, Technoblade resolutely reads his book and pretends he does not hear Quackity. He holds out for a whole five minutes, until Quackity starts autotune-singing about how much he and Techno love doing exceedingly nasty things with each other. When Quackity breaks out the guitar, Techno snaps his book shut.

"What do you want?" the piglin grunts.

Quackity shapeshifts into a cute little yellow duckling, presumably to persuade Techno with the power of cuteness. "Break into MCC with me," he says.

That is such a bad idea on so many levels. Challenging, sure, and very interesting...

"What's in it for me?" he says.

"I want to put a whoopie cushion on Scott's chair," the duckling quacks. "That means we've got to break into the admin room, and you can mess with the admin control panel."

Techno raises a skeptical eyebrow. “You want to break into the most secure room in the most secure event in recent history.”

Quackity nods. “Exactly!”

“To put a whoopie cushion on Scott’s chair.”

Technoblade puts his face in his hand and mourns the collective IQ of the Dream SMP, because surely Quackity lowers it just by breathing. The shapeshifter, still in duck form, hops up into Technoblade’s lap, then turns into a human so he can risk death by daring to suggestively straddle the piglin. He immediately gets shoved onto the ground.

“I’m going to regret this...” Technoblade says. “Let’s do it.”

Getting into the MCC server is the easy part. They’re both whitelisted, and it would be a hassle to remove everyone on the whitelist only to add them back later each time there’s another championship, so they have indefinite access. The moderators would surely come up with a way to keep everyone out if they knew about the two Dream SMP men’s plan.

“Do you even know where we’re going?” Quackity complains loudly.

Technoblade slaps a hand over Quackity’s mouth and looks around quickly. The shapeshifter responds by licking Techno’s palm, and Techno retaliates by removing his slobbery hand from Quackity’s face and swatting him upside the head for the childish behavior.

“Be quiet, we don’t know who’s here,” Techno says. “And yes, I know where we’re going. The admin room is below the map. There’s a secret passageway around here somewhere...”

The two sneak underneath the bridge to the arena, locating a lever that opens a hallway inside the main gate. The inside of the hallway is mostly quartz and concrete. Obviously, the map-makers put more effort into the bits that were supposed to be seen.

They reach a fork in the hallway: they can either go left or right. Techno points to the left. When they turn the corner, they come face-to-face with another person. Quackity and Technoblade both freeze in place at the sight of Grian leaning on the door to the admin room, fiddling with his phone. When he hears the two intruders, he looks up, squinting at them from behind the thin frame of his glasses.

Why is he here?! Techno thinks. We’re gonna get in so much trouble!

“I didn’t know either of you was an admin,” Grian says casually.

Technoblade sweats. How does he pretend to be an admin?

"Uh, yeah," he says, wrapping his arm around Quackity in a gesture that's supposed to look friendly but is a bit too tight. "My friend's code is, uh, glitching really hard right now."

On cue, Quackity shapeshifts into a moaning pile of limbs, then a duck, and then his normal state again, flickering between human and limb-pile.

"It's time sensitive, so if you could please let us through," Technoblade continues.

Grian raises a singular eyebrow, totally unimpressed. "Is it, now."

Quackity begins to foam at the mouth. Technoblade hopes that that's a shapeshifting trick and not some weird disease Quackity's picked up. Grian steps to the side, allowing the other two men to pass through the door to the admin control panel room.

As soon as they’re on the other side of the door, Technoblade leans heavily against it, pressing a hand to his his chest and exhaling. “He actually bought it,” the piglin says incredulously. Meanwhile, Quackity waltzes over to Scott’s spinny gamer chair without a care in the world, placing a whoopie cushion on the seat. For good measure, he also duct tapes an air horn to the bottom of the chair, so that when Scott sits down it’ll go off.

“We don’t have all day, man,” Quackity chides. “Go do whatever admin thing it is you’ve got planned.”

Right. He’d forgotten about that. Technoblade boots up the admin control panel. The text glows brightly, most of it in Galactic Standard. It would take too long to bother deciphering it all, not to mention it would overtax Techno’s attention span. The piglin skims the characters on the screen just enough to the point where he can locate “automated_messages.txt”. This file, if he is correct, should be the one that the main script references. If he just alters this one bit right here, then heads over to “display_messages.cpp” to alter a few corresponding lines of code... There!

“I’m done,” he says.

Quackity, who’s been climbing the wall as a hot pink lizard, drops to the floor and comes back up as a human again. “Nice, now we should probably get out of here before that Grian guy realizes we’ve done something. What’d you put in the code, by the way?”

Technoblade stuffs his hands in his pockets and shrugs. He can’t suppress his smirk, though. “Oh, nothing much-- every time a game is chosen, instead of saying the name of the game, the system will say ‘subscribe to Technoblade’.”

Quackity groans, heading to the door. He’s about to say something, but when he opens the door, the two see exactly what they don’t want to see.

Grian is still waiting for them when they exit the room, arms crossed and leaning against the wall casual as you please.

He tilts his head. "You two got that issue sorted out?"

Quackity beams, nodding rapidly and speaking even faster. "Oh yes, I'm completely better now! Technoblade fixed me up; it was difficult and scary but it worked perfectly, I feel so much better now! All he had to do was give me a true love's kiss--"

The shapeshifter is cut off by Techno's elbow digging into his ribs.

Grian nods. "That's good, that's good." A pause. "For the record, code isn't glitchy. It's either buggy or it's corrupted, usually corrupted. You're a really bad liar, Technoblade."

“I have no clue what you’re talking about,” Techno deadpans. When in doubt, deny all knowledge of the evidence!

“Team with me,” Grian demands. “I want to win the next MCC.”

Quackity immediately agrees, “Deal.” At the Look that Techno strikes him with, he simply shrugs. “Hey, I want in on this too.”

Grian, Technoblade, and Quackity team with Philza. They win in a landslide and Technoblade gets banned from MCC for a month. It’s worth it.

Dream's discord podcast. Basically him answering questions for 2.5 hours. This will sort of be in order but I fucked up my notes so it might not be in order completely. (From 13th May 2021)

•He said his teeth are mostly straight but he's thought about getting Invisalign. He's never had braces. He has a tiny gap in the left side of his mouth and his canines are longer and sharper (vampire arc). He's never had teeth surgery so has his wisdom teeth still.

•He thinks pineapple on pizza is good.

•He likes seafood like lobster and crab. He had crab made in an air fryer last night. He like peas. He thinks quesadillas are good and likes most food.

•He hates Coffee and most drinks

•The Dream Shorts team is Ken who is his personal reminder (Ken's main job is to spam him with texts so he doesn't forget things as he's got a habit of reading texts and not replying) and also comes up with a list of sets for Dream shorts. The builder is a friend and munchymc builder "his talent gets wasted on Dream's shorts but we pay him so"

•His editors are currently Dizzy, Firesale and Mjcr. Willz doesn't edit for him anymore

•The mask animation isn't done but Mask should be released May 21st. He wants to release them together as "the whole song is a double meaning and the whole nuance will be lost without the animation" but no matter if the animation is done the song is getting released on the 21st.

•He and Sapnap eat together often.

•He and Sapnap prefer medium rare Steak

•He wants a home gym it's something he's willing to splurge on. They currently have a weight rack but they haven't even set it up.

•Talked about money basically saying "Most people don't understand how money works I don't have millions in my bank account it's in assets like merch, land and warehousing for that stuff" (He's not in his landlord arc)

•He's been debating Pride Merch because of Rainbow Capitalism. He doesn't want it too be seen as a money maker and if he does most proceeds would go to charity. He's currently super busy merch wise with Sapnap joining and George in the middle of joining. He did say "Only if the LGBTQ+ community in this community wants it" He thinks he's going to at least change the merch website to a pride one. Sapnap wants to make pride merch including a rainbow flame on his.

•He wants to create a charity that's centered around helping LGBTQ+ one day because he thinks that there's a lack of them. He mentioned that creating a charity was expensive and took a lot and was a complicated process including a board of directors but he wants to do it someday.

•He wanted to buy a bunch of houses in Florida which was a service to house mostly LGBTQ+ youth and people stuck in abusive households for free to get them out of bad home environments. But he didn't because he didn't want people thinking he was profiting of of abuse victims and LGBTQ+ community.

•He said he's terrible with time management and replying to people which is why Ken helps him (and also helps George and Sapnap). He mentioned how Sam messaged multiple times and Dream just forgot to answer but felt bad "I feel like people think I hate them..... Cause I'd be mad if people did that to me"

•He tries to reply to a few texts a day (community number). He also can't do birthday messages everyday because you can only reply at certain times so it's not abusing the system so if you get one it's special. He said he does try but it's got a weird time gap.

•Him and the manhunt winner are trying to come up with a good time to film

•He wants to stream this MCC on twitch and says his team is good.

•He talks about why he's not partnered with Twitch. Basically Twitch has a lock rate (in which you make money) and you legally can't stream on YouTube. So legally if Tommy wanted to stream on YouTube he couldn't. Someone then mentioned how Bad is a twitch partner but still streams on YouTube "Bad streams on YouTube but he has for a while and I don't think that he cares" - Dream

•He likes to reply to every donation he gets on stream and feels bad when he doesn't so he'll turn them off when he streams and wants a platform deal where he can be payed to stream (not twitch). If he gets a streaming partnership he will stream a couple of times a week. He looked in to Facebook but they don't have an alias system meaning you can see everyone's actual Facebook account and personal info, he doesn't like seeing real names on Facebook so it would require a lot of altering if he was to stream there so he's thinking it's probably going to be YouTube.

•He was asked about if his demographic was what he expected and he said he went in with no expectations, he didn't even know what stans were, wasn't really on social media so he wasn't aware of the fan culture. "You guys are a handful sometimes but it's worth it"

•He also mentioned how he and the DreamSMP changed the twitch audience demographic. It used to be male dominated in both streamers and audience and now it's almost split which is unheard on.

•He has 5 fidget spinners in his house. Two in his bedroom. Two in his office. One in the living room.

•He likes his Minecraft skin as he thinks the arm is cook and you never see the rest of his skin really. He says it's unique and different and "me". Dream: You can't even tell half the skins apart on MC.

•He's not lost the motivation to stream. Most of the times if he wants to stream he gets George or Sapnap to do it and he just turns up. It's more beneficial to them as they have donos and subs on. (Don't we fucking know it "can you say hi to")

•He has listened to Lovejoy. Says the ep was great and they're very talented and awesome. Doesn't know what his favourite song is but probably would pick One Day because the chorus slaps.

•RIP to acoustic Roadtrip. He said instead of acoustic Roadtrip we get Mask so no losses today for Dream stans.

•"With Roadtrip I went to Parker and I said Hey I have a story I want to tell through music. I have no experience with that can you help me" He said sure. He crafted the music and melodies and how things are formed where it's catchy. I have less comfort singing that. I love the song and it's my song, it's very representative of me and I'm sure I could sing it but it's a song I'd be kinds of scared to sing live, with Mask I basically did everything. I sat there the entire time and maybe an hour out if the 100 I wasn't in the call. Dream came up with the lyrics and main melody for Mask (First one he's ever come up with) "That was just notes in my fucking voice memos"

•The clip we heard of Mask was a prechorus not the actual chorus. He thinks he'd be more comfortable to do a mask acoustic and it's more melodic than Roadtrip. The chorus also has a lot of instruments similar to Roadtrip. Mask starts of slow and guitar with minimal reverb and is more raw.

• He doesn't want music to be his main thing. It's something fun to do and he's passionate about it as it's a way to express emotions. He wants to release mask then go from there. He wants to release at least one more song but has nothing on his mind currently. His two ideas were Roadtrip and Mask.

•He wouldn't quit his job to become a pizza delivery man.

•His favourite features on himself are eyes or freckles and he also confirmed that he does have eyebrows.

•He was told that Parkour warrior would be bought back some time in the near future and he got excited for it. "Even if I don't win, which I will, it'll be fun"

•Went on about his MCC team but I'm not going to put that in as we should be getting them today. He did say he wasn't on Pink but he did sound confused. (For reference he's always in Pink as it's the last team announced and keeps the hype up by announcing the biggest streamer last)

•Said he and his mum had the Mr Beast burger. He recommends because he likes the avacado. He mentioned how Mr Beast uses "Ghost Kitchens" which is basically where he gives restaurants permission to cook his food so it's restaurant quality food.

•His favourite piece of merch is the circle smile. (The pool photo on Instagram). He said the quality was bad (he worked with a different company and didn't have his own company) and it was elasticy feeling and he's planning on re-releasing it again but with good quality.

•He's started to send merch out in custom packaging. So his bags have the smile and will mostly be green. Sapnap's has the flame and is either black or white. He's also trying to make it so every order has the sticker packs for both him and Sapnap.

•He loves the coins as it's cheaper than a hoodie but still celebrates the milestones and will last a long time. He mentioned how the old coins are getting removed off the site and how if you have any of the coins your special because only a few thousand get made. He's kept around 100 of each coin that he wants to give away in person.

•He wanted to have a cool store where you could access computers that give you access to the DreamSMP in spectator mode. But it's too costly and would require too much time and isn't safe fight now. He doesn't think it'd be worth it financially.

•Most of the hoodie are black instead of multiple colours because of limited supply and covid. Getting the colours are harder because if the pandemic which hopefully won't be an issue soon.

•He wants to do a short meetup tour with Sapnap and George with a few locations in the US (and if others nearby want to join like Quackity or Karl they can). He also wants to visit Australia, UK, Canada, Mexico and Philippines and do something like that there but definitely at least visit with George and Sapnap.

•He's never been to the Philippines but his mum has. He wants to set up a place in the Philippines where he can ship merch in bulk and it would help to reduce shipping. However it would probably be big milestone merch.

•He's not got the vaccine yet but will get it when he needs to. He doesn't leave the house so he doesn't see the point.

•He's the ideas man. George's footcam video was Dream's idea. The T-shirt video was Dream's idea. Most if not all of the Dream Team's videos are Dream's ideas.

•Said he's got a similar/the same hair colour as Froy (Dream buddy at this point the only difference between you and Froy is that one of you is dating Richard Madden /lh)

I agree with all that you said but George is not a good right hand man nor a good leader. The reason people said Sam could be dreams right hand man while george was right there is because every single time dnf have been on a team George is never the right hand man. George is very good player, I would say he’s A to A+ tier but he doesn’t have leadership qualities (but that’s okay!). George is individually very good, and a good team support person, he doesn’t bring down his team cause of his skill. But he’s just not a good right hand man to dream, sapnap and cpk are two great right hand men, ranboo did a great job too. Of all the mccs, sapnap, cpk and ranboo are the only people who have told Dream he’s doing well or he’s okay when he’s underperforming. No one encourages dream. Dream is always uplifting his teammates, no one uplifts him. Sapnap, cpk and ranboo were the only people I’ve seen do that, hence them being great right hand men.

you think… george doesn’t encourage dream? you think he doesn’t help dream when it comes to team cohesion and enforcing rules? george is silly and he is light-hearted but he wants to win and idk HOW you define leadership but he’s more than capable of reminding teammates of strats/things to avoid. like red mcc19 he was telling them NOT to punch (he even went on a bit explaining why and reemphasizing) and letting them know what he was gonna do if they wanted to do something similar (aka follow dream’s bridging). the concept of what a ‘right hand man’ is for dream in mcc is ridiculous and flawed enough already. george definitely does his fair share of keeping team morale up with jokes and the like and he’s most DEFINITELY gassed dream up when dream does well? (mcc 18 tgttosawaf for example, george saying ‘WOAH… dream carried!’ and in mccas when he pointed out dream beat him by 10 points, leading dream to realize and get hyped up by him having the highest coins in the team as sandkeeper… and so many other examples when dream does well george is most definitely excited)

there are… many ways to be a right hand man. it just simply is disrespectful to overlook all the work george puts into improving and how well he listens to dream’s strategies for mcc, and to imply that a NEW PLAYER should have to step up as right hand man because you don’t deem george capable enough of that role IS INSULTING. he cares. he plays hard, he follows instructions, he helps relay instructions, he reviews his mcc performance (remember when quackity wanted to go out but george wanted to stay in and watch his mcc vod??),,, also y’all are ignoring how right man hand WORKS. right hand man on dream’s team is just almost always the second best player 😭😭 THATS FUCKING IT. it’s not some magical role u need to fulfil 573838 criteria to accomplish. most of the time when dream and george team, george is the second best player. ERGO HES THE RIGHT HAND MAN. dream is p much almost always in charge of giving out instructions and laying out the team strategy, unless one of his teammates knows a better strategy than him. leader, co-leader, right hand man. these are all imaginary positions… in reality they’re all just players on a team

Dream SMP Recap (July 25/2021) - The Wilburger Ranvan

Wilbur comes up with his new calling: selling burgers in a burger van! At Phil’s suggestion, Wilbur teams up with Ranboo to do so, setting up their new business on the outskirts of Las Nevadas.

- Wilbur and Phil hang out in the Arctic. Wilbur has a proposition for Phil

- He says he met up with Quackity and it was a nice time. The one conclusion he came to is that Quackity is very resourceful

Wilbur: “As much as I may disagree with your views on anarchy, I must say, it’s pretty harmless. I -- I can’t hate you for it. I can’t hate you for enjoying literally living in a peaceful little village in the snow, I mean the server’s never been this peaceful since -- since all the countries and nations and cities and everything is gone. So Phil, I came to you with one question, one question...do you think Quackity should be allowed to be left unchecked?”

- Phil says no. The issue is, there’s no government, no police force. What Techno’s done is left a power vacuum and now Quackity’s come in with an unethical establishment, gambling...

- Wilbur wants to make a burger van

- They get interrupted by an Enderman ascending from the basement

- He knows there’s a bit of déjà vu, but the difference is that the burger van isn’t going to sell drugs this time. He wants every steak to have a name

- He’s done with being a source of authority, a president. His calling is just burgers, no ulterior motives

- Phil knows someone who would help out: Ranboo. The richest, most knowledgable man on the server, and he’s run out of things to do on the server

- Wilbur doesn’t want to play with Ranboo, but Phil threatens to kick him out if he doesn’t so he does, annoyed at being treated like a child

- Wilbur gives Ranboo his proposition

Wilbur: “I like to think, you know, let bygones be bygones, let’s bury the hatchet, let’s be -- Ranboo I’m gonna go out on a limb here...do you wanna be friends?”

- His next progression, after being a dead-terrorist-president...is to be a chef. Ranboo is onboard 

- They start walking over. Wilbur asks if Ranboo’s heard of Las Nevadas, and Ranboo mentions their abandoned cookie post that was causing trouble. He wants to create competition for Quackity’s business. Eventually, maybe Quackity will have to make a deal with them, maybe even be their friend

- Ranboo wants to keep it respectful. Wilbur assures him that they already has the land necessary

- Wilbur wants to pick Ranboo’s brain and asks his thoughts on Quackity. Ranboo says he just hasn’t seen him in so long. Their last interaction before everything else happened was just that they were in the same cabinet of New L’manburg

- Wilbur didn’t know that Ranboo was part of L’manburg’s government

- Wilbur asks if he dislikes anyone. Ranboo says not too much, just people that he doesn’t agree with. Everyone is just a product of what they’ve gone through, so if you understand that, you understand the person

- If you align yourself with everyone, isn’t that more complicated? Ranboo says that’s why he’s just been living with Phil and Techno away from everything, trying not to involve himself in much, but he has a terrible radar on what’s involving himself and what isn’t

Wilbur: “What about Dream?”

Ranboo: “Well that’s -- well, with Dream it’s kind of like...all I’ve heard of Dream, all I’ve seen with Dream is just been like the really bad things that he’s done and everything, so I would say that I -- yeah, I don’t really like Dream, but I mean, he’s also not really someone that it matters whether or not I like him ‘cause he’s just away in that prison for a really long time, so I mean...”

Wilbur: “No trial?”

- They reach their competition and go into the fast food restaurant

- He peeks into the casino, but holes it back up. This building doesn’t benefit the consumer

- Wilbur places down some signs insulting Quackity’s burger place, guaranteeing those signs will never leave since they don’t care about the customer

- Wilbur shows Ranboo his area, which he's thinking of naming “Paradise.” Ranboo says it could be a neat play on words...pair-of-dice

- Wilbur and Ranboo decide to make the place red and white, retro-themed. Ranboo gives Wilbur Ranord and Wilbur goes off to gather some red

- Wilbur likes Tubbo since he’s strong-headed and doesn’t let people push him around

- Ranboo says when you can’t change someone’s mind, it’s no use to needlessly argue. Wilbur points out that Ranboo seems to be a bit more dynamic than a purely neutral, peaceful force. He’s somehow appeared in almost every conflict the server’s had since Wilbur died

- Ranboo says it’s because he’s bad at discerning things, but he’s been doing alright with his situation recently. He wants to help people, and sometimes he lets that desire to help people get in the way of what he says about himself

Wilbur: “Ranboo...why did you help to help me?”

- Ranboo needed something to do, and he also thought that Wilbur’s an alright person, so he wants to get off on a better foot because he doesn’t like having people not like him

- Wilbur asks why he doesn’t think Wilbur’s a bad person. Ranboo says he did bad things, but also went through things that made him that way and now he’s changed as a person since he died. He’s optimistic in that

Wilbur: (sniffs) “Good, uh...that’s nice. Thank you. Uh...I think I needed to hear that.”

Wilbur: “Can I be real with you man? ...I think I scare people.”

Ranboo: “I mean...yeah, I do the same thing.”

Wilbur: “No, not in -- no no, I mean I...I don’t think I...I think a lot of people share your idea, but they share your idea in trying to -- trying to keep me from hurting them, you know? Like they’ve seen what I can do and they don’t want me to do it again, so they adopt your emotion in order to do it.”

- He demolished Jack Manifold’s house twice, he completely ignored him in the war, and what it took for Jack to forgive Wilbur was just a sorry. 

Wilbur: “And I know -- I’ve spoken to Tommy about Jack Manifold! And Jack Manifold is not the sort of person to forgive someone like that with a sorry! Imagine if Dream said sorry to Jack Manifold! What’s Dream done to Jack Manifold, huh? Barely anything! I imagine if Dream said sorry to Jack Manifold, Jack Manifold would ignore him. Do you know why? Because DREAM’s in prison, and I’m not!

“Dream is -- he’s had his comeuppance and I’ve not! My comeuppance was apparently not good enough for these people! They’re just waiting! Waiting for the next thing for me to slip up on them -- Ranboo, I’m not gonna fucking slip up, Ranboo, I’m different. I’m not Dream...god, I wish I was! Sometimes I wish, I wish I’d gotten that comeuppance but Ranboo, I’m not Dream. And I’m not gonna be Dream, and that’s...”

“I’m living in eternal Limbo...again. I’ve been through Limbo. I’m out of Limbo. And socially, I’m still in this Limbo, and man, Ranboo, hearing you say those words that you said to me? Do you remember what you said?”

Ranboo: “Y-yeah, I do?”

Wilbur: “You said...(sniffs) I think people can change, that’s number one. And number two, you said you’re scared that people don’t like you.”

- He tells Ranboo that they’re kindred. They have the same neuroticism, their strongest point. But anxiety is not their downfall. Wilbur’s parents are alive because they were anxious and didn’t let anything take them down

- Ranboo says they’re both thinkers. They may think in different ways, but they think at the same level

Wilbur: “I think you might be a bit braver than me in showing your true colors. I feel like with you, Ranboo, I never have to be guessing your next move. I never have to be guessing your hand, you know? I feel like life dealt us the same cards, and the difference is you build your trust by showing people your cards whilst I keep them close to my chest, and I feel like that might be the big difference.”

- He asks Ranboo what he feels about thievery. He’s going to steal Las Nevadas’ cows to make into burgers

- Ranboo makes some concrete and starts building the van. Wilbur rides off on a horse looking for some sheep

- Wilbur asks Ranboo about Tubbo and Ranboo talks a bit about Snowchester. Wilbur thought Techno was successful at getting rid of all the nations, but Ranboo says it’s not a nation. Wilbur doesn’t know about Kinoko Kingdom either

- Wilbur gets to the spider farm, which has Kanye West in it

- He heads back and they discuss names like Paradise or Wilburger

- Wilbur asks Ranboo’s opinion on Tommy and Ranboo thinks he’s great. Tommy’s gone through a lot, but it’s made him a good person. 

Wilbur notes that he seems to think that everyone’s gone through something. Ranboo says yes, the only bad people are those who are evil without a reason why, but there’s not many people like that

- Wilbur names the first burger “Wilburger Vol. 1″ and puts a watermark on it

- Wilbur wants to ask Ranboo one last make-or-break question

Ooh what if niki lets out a tip from techno, what if after the escape he gathers the commune and talks about the horrendous condition of pandora, then mcc came and niki just shares it with H and basically whole of green goblins in one of the games. And hermits are like (wtf?)

Note: I do like the idea of using the MCC18 green goblins team for this fic! But I had to change one competitor on one other team :) Also I am ignoring the fact that it's the Halloween MCC, because I need them to wear team colours, sorry ^^'

MCC.

The one day each month where members of the most popular servers would meet.

The one day of celebration, the day of catching up.

Grian absolutely loved it.

And this month's competition was looking to be amazing as well!

His team was great - Gem, his good Hermit friend, HBomb, who he hear a lot of good about from Ren and False and Niki - a sweetheart, who knew H well and would complete the incredible team dynamic!

He was ready to leave long before the admins would even begin to prepare the teleportation for the competitors. He just couldn't wait! He was going to be defending his title and he knew his team had a big chance of winning again!

The day was going by slowly, slower than he wanted it to.

He tried everything - mining deepslate to add to his G-Train, pranking other Hermits and even rebuild a part of his alleyway that got blown up by a creeper somehow. And yet the time was still moving annoyingly slowly.

He was lying on his back by the Botaem Hole, when he heard someone land beside him.

"Grian!"

"Iskall?" What was he doing here? Grian got up quickly seeing the panicked expression on his fellow Hermit's face. "What happened?! Is everyone okay?!"

"Yes! Well no!" Iskall brought his communicator up to Grian's face. "H messaged me! You have to find out what is going on with Dr-!"

Maybe the time wasn't moving as slowly as Grian thought. The travel between servers was as quick and as disorienting as usual. One second he was standing right before Iskall, feeling his elytra on his back and the second the bright colours of the MCC lobby were present all around him.

Iskall didn't get to tell him the whole message. Well, Grian hoped it wasn't really important. No matter, he could just ask HBomb directly!

He looked around, trying to find his teammates. He saw many people around, but no one in the same green jacket he was wearing. Where were they? He approached the closest person he could find. It was one of the pink players.

"Hey! Quackity, right?" The beanie-wearing player turned around and smiled brightly at him.

"Hey Grian! What's up?" Grian smiled as well.

"Do you know where my team is? I can't find them." Quackity nodded.

"Yeah! I saw them dragging Scott away to the building with all the past winners. The... what's it called? Achievement Hall?"

"I have no idea! Anyway thank you!" He was too distracted to think about the proper name of the building and was already running off, briefly turning around to wave his goodbyes.

He ran towards the building, trying not to run into any other person. He partially succeeded, only having to make a quick dodge when Quig jumped off from somewhere and appeared on his path.

When he finally got to the hall, he looked around again. Where were his teammates? The building was huge, how was he supp-

"Grian!" Gem. Thank god. He smiled and headed downstairs, where he could see the ginger Hermit standing and waving towards him.

"Gem! I was looking all over the place for you! Where-" He cut himself of. Gem and the others weren't laughing. They weren't smiling even. Something was wrong. His own smile fell.

"What's going on?"

HBomb and Niki looked awful. It was common knowledge that the only thing the MCC Admins couldn't fix for the games were broken bones and exhaustion. The two looked like they haven't slept in weeks. Months even. They looked nervous too, as if they held a secret too horrifying to share.

"Good. You are here." Scott wasn't his happy self either. "They wouldn't tell me anything until you got here! Now." He looked back at the two Dream SMP members. "You were saying Dream wasn't going to come?"

Dream wasn't here? Grian was shocked. He has never spoken to the man, but he knew he would rather be dead than miss an MCC.

"Wait Dream is not here?"

"He's not. And he is the reason we need your help." H began. "We weren't very... truthful with you all." He swallowed quickly, sending Niki a quick look. "Dream SMP is not as peaceful as you think."

Scott scoffed. "Is this what this is about? We already know that! Do you know how many times Noxite complained to me about how many wounds he has to fix each time MCC comes around?! I don't know what kind of pranks you guys do, but-!"

"Dream is being tortured in a prison he created." Niki's words interrupted Scott. They all fell silent. No one knew what to say.

Grian felt his blood freeze. "What?"

"He has been locked up for a few months now. We thought we were doing the right thing! He was dangerous! But now... Quackity and Sam! They are doing something to him! Techno told us!" Niki was near hysteria, anger present in her voice. "We need your help. Sam made Dream stay behind somehow and no one can access the prison. We need the help of the Admins."

Grian looked at Scott. He was frozen, his jaw slightly open.

"Tortured? What do you mean tortured?!"

"We don't know the details. But Techno was there for much less and he looked awful when he got out. He said Dream looked dead. That he tried burning himself in the lava." HBomb took over the explanation, giving Niki a moment to turn toward the wall and punch it a few times. Grian winced slightly at the sound and the hole she left behind.

"He... he burned himself?" Gem asked in a shaky voice.

"As I said - we don't know the details. But we need help." He addressed Scott again. "Scott please. I know Admins shouldn't intervene with other servers, but our Admin is hurt."

Scott finally closed his mouth, swallowing thickly. "Right. I need to- I need to message Noxite. He needs to know." He opened his communicator and took a few steps away, typing away.

Grian didn't know what to do. Help Gem? Ask H and Niki for more details? Go and ask Quackity? He felt lost. No one ever told him what to do in a situation like this one.

"Grian, Gem. Sorry for involving you both, but I had a feeling Iskall wasn't going to be quick enough." HBomb looked apologetic. Why was he apologising to them? They were the ones with a friend being tortured apparently. "I'm sorry we won't be able to play together now. I was really looking forward to it!"

"Yeah... Me too." Grian felt as if he was underwater. He heard the others talk, but couldn't make out any words. Where was he? Where was the faint music coming from?

"-an! Grian! Listen to me." He felt someone's hands on his arms. Female voice. Ginger hair. Antlers. Gem. He tried focusing on her voice.

She guided him back to reality slowly and he took a deep breath.

"Good to have you back with us." Gem smiled at him. "The others left to see Noxcrew. Apparently the games are cancelled." She added when she saw him look around, trying to find the other members of the green guardians. "Come on. We're going back to Hermitcraft. The portal should be open."

(The next few days were frantic. Grian tried contacting Technoblade, but the answers were short and slow. He tried not to worry. The other was probably busy with the Admins' search of the server and everything else the investigation meant.

The Hermits tried to focus on their builds. Tried not to worry too much. They couldn't do anything anyway. Xisuma was gone, having joined the investigation already, but his messaged were also short. They weren't sure if that was good or not.

The next time anyone saw any Dream SMP members was the next MCC. Grian was teamed with none of them, but he saw HBomb and Niki laughing with a person wearing 3D glasses. He waved at them and they waved back happily. He couldn't see Quackity anywhere.

Dream wouldn't be seen for another few MCCs. Apparently his body was malnourished and broken after everything he has gone through.

But he would be back. His mask looking brand new, shining in the warm rays of the MCC day. Happily talking to the other players, looking better then ever.)

Okay so here’s my reaction to Dream Team reacting to smajor and that yesterday because whilst they should’ve been more mindful that their fandom can be very very over dramatic, it was completely spur of the moment and they were reacting like anyone else would: the only difference is their fandom is just different and it sucks

For starters I don’t think they completely foresaw the consequences of talking about it live on stream because they’ve done it before and it’s never been that bad. An example of this is the survival games tournament that George and Dream competed in last year: Dream was able to spend hours pointing out different elements as to why it’s so scuffed and it was fine, it’s not unreasonable for him to have thought it’d be fine again

Next: Sapnap and Dream who were arguably the most vocal in that moment are both young people who’s entire careers have revolved around their performance in MCC: they’re skill based content creators and most people judge their skills based on their placement in MCC as it covers a wide range of game modes: it’s reasonable that they’d be defensive over this

Furthermore they blew up extremely quick yet people are saying they ‘should know.’ You’ve got a bunch of gen z men who have been placed in charge of 21 million people when a year and a half ago they had almost no consequences to their actions. They’re not going to ‘just know’ how to navigate millions of people of different ages, genders and affiliations.

It was also very much spur of the moment: Sapnap hadn’t planned that bit in his stream or anything, he was angry and you could tell at times he had forgotten he was still streaming. His intention wasn’t ‘lets give this to an audience of 100k and send them to hate on people’ and that was painfully clear

George was providing the same level of commentary with occasional snarky comments and sarcasm that any other competitor last night was and Quackity was the same so I really cannot see those two being the biggest influence on this so I think that’s why I hadn’t rlly brought them up through this

I do agree they really should be more careful, I just know they didn’t do it with the intention of ‘let’s rally up our fans on them!’ But rather with the intention of finding out what happened and letting out their frustrations (which I agree they probably should’ve done off stream)

I hope yous all have a very positive day and I know this is probably futile saying this to Tumblr fans as we wouldn’t have that access to CCs anyway but please don’t send any hate to anyone. It’s really not your place to do so and you don’t want to be one of the people spreading negativity in the world: why make someone’s day worst when you can have an influence on making someone’s day better? Everyone’s days are numbered so make sure you’re not the reason someone resents theirs <3
