Hi sorry I died for a while but I've been waiting for my computer to be fixed so I can draw pretty stuff again (yes it's taken like 6 months). Now please consider my thoughts on what animals different danganronpa characters would be

I tried to make sure there weren't any duplicates unless the characters are related and some of these I've put more thought into lol

Yasuhiro is a goat but like the fainting ones because it sounds funny and I can see him freezing up and falling over.

Junko and ikusaba are both chihuahuas because they're super cute but stereotypically people say they're little demons and that fits junko, she seems innocent but is just a big meanie. And I see ikusaba as being like a buff chihuahua who's all awkward but could eat you alive.

Makoto and Komaru are ferrets, ferrets need other ferrets for inrichment and that's basically makoto he wants friends to be happy. Also I think ferrets are very silly, I have 4 named noodle, little man, chonk, and rebel (like Starbuck).

Kyoko is a cat, I felt like a cat could match many different characters but I believe that she fits a cat the most. Cats are cute but pretty solitary also I think it matches with the fact she isn't very scary compared to some characters (ik she's like mysterious type scary and stone cold but I think she's a cutie).

Fukawa is a skunk bc she's stinky.

Byakuya is a cheetah and I thought about this quite a bit, I had a few different ideas on what to pick but honestly I think since he's blonde he's obviously a cheetah!! Duh!!

Asahina is an otter bc swimming and cute.

Sakura... I had so much trouble deciding this one ommmgg 😭 I was thinking about bigger animals and like martial arts and I was thinking about a gorilla and how they like punch their chests. It's the best I could come up with.

Leon is a weasel because I could see a weasel trying baseball and not liking it very much.

Sayaka is a panda because people love pandas and I could see a panda singing pop music.

Chihiro is a bunny because cute and small, also he's like Judy hops cuz he and her wanna prove they're stronge or smth 💪🏻

Hijumi is a walrus bc his lips kinda look like a walrus and he's chunky like a walrus, I thought of a hamster too but I thought it fit another character better.

Ishimaru I can see being a Labrador dog bc he's a silly little guy. He'd be the dog that barks at flys.

Celeste is a fruit bat bc vampire bat is what she wishes she was so she tries to be scary and goth but she's just a cute fuzz baby.

Nagito is a wolf bc he's literally wolf in sheep's clothing but he's also kinda cute.

Hajime is a panther who doesn't know how to be a panther, he tries to be a house cat.

Teruteru is a mouse bc ratatouille but I wanted him to be a mouse bc they're smaller and I think someone else fits the rat better.

Twogami I was thinking maybe a pig who wears cheetah fur or smth, like he wears the animal skin of what he's imitating.

Pekoyama is a gazelle bc they're coooool.

Mahiru is a red panda cuz they're small and cute and red like her hair

Soda is a rat bc I can imagine him being a sewer rat who smells bad in his silly little jumper.

Tanaka is a Vulture and everyone's like 'whaaat a vulture taking care of hamsters???? Craaazy he'll eat them' but really he loves his little guys and would never.

Nekomaru is a lion bc team work and big.

Akane is a jaguar bc big and grrrr.

Chiaki is a sugar glider bc tiny and cute.

Saionji is the basilisk bc I can see her Jesus running on water.

Ibuki is a parrot bc caawww and repeating people and singing bird.

Mikan is a possum bc they faint when scared and that's funny haha but also I think they're cute.

Kamukura is a panther but he knows how to be a panther and doesn't wanna be a house cat like Hajime.

Shuichi is a coyote bc he ain't a big wolf but he isn't a tiny dog, he's like in the middle and he's adaptable I'd say.

Kaede is a spider monkey cuz they're like very social but can be aggressive and I think kaede is a more bold but friendly character (ignoring pregame)

Amami is idk!!! I thought about it alot and I stuck with a tortus or a super chill deer.

Maki is like a black mamba cuz they're fast and when I think of an assassin I think of snakes. Also I believe black mambas aren't super aggressive unless bothered and I think this applies to Maki. She isn't aggressive really for no reason she might be sassy sometimes but she isn't gonna throttle you for no reason at all.

Himiko is a dove bc magician.

Kiibo is a chicken bc it made me think of the robot chicken TV channel thing.

Tsumugi is a fox bc cute and pretty but sneaky and will probably give you rabies.

Kirumi is an owl because she seems wise and owls are usually depicted as wise in media.

Ryouma is a poison dart frog bc tiny but will kill you with his tennis balls.

Korekiyo is a giraffe bc tall and lanky.

Tenko is a mongoose and honestly idk why I couldn't think of anything else except maybe that lizard that's like only girls and reproduces asexually so they're all female lizards.

Angie is an African wolf dog bc they work really well when hunting and it would be her little cult of dogs.

Kaito is a border collie bc they're really smart but cute and people always assume they're dumb but they're very smart and everyone says Kaito is dumb but honestly he's gotta be smart to be an astronaut.

Kokichi is a racoon bc he's a trash panda who would also give you rabies.

Miu is a pelican bc she has a big mouth and doesn't shut upppppp!!

Gonta Is an eleghant bc usually elephants are pretty chill and they're suuuuper cute and big.

Stumbled into the 'rude Leon Draisaitl' discourse and had to laugh so hard. As a german, everytime I see Leon I have the immediate feeling of 'oh I know that guy' bc he really is very german. People say Germans don't have a sense of humour and I say part of our humour is that sometimes people don't realise some things we say not meant seriously.

Also there are several interviews from german soccer players (notably Per Mertesacker and Toni Kroos) who were interviewed after big games and literally out right told reporters they are asking stupid questions.... and were celebrated for it! People loved their honesty! Toni said 'you had 90 minutes to think of a question and this is what you ask?' in the face of the reporter people sided with him immediately. Cultural differences are a real thing.

Real talk though like Leon isn't even really any better or worse in terms of his humour or attitude than most other players. It's just the way he talks that gets people. Sometimes he's more blunt, and a lot of his sense of humour seems to be primarily sarcasm. And like obviously those things aren't exclusively German, but from what I've been told from my resident German friends, it is very commonly German.

Even as someone who isn't German myself, I don't think I've ever heard him make a comment or a joke and thought 'oh wow he's so rude/he said something inappropriate' (maybe because my sense of humour is very similar lol). I just think he's funny and a little awkward sometimes and occasionally goes unfiltered with his thoughts and feelings. That's one of the reasons why I like him so much! (and for what it's worth, he doesn't even do it all that often; he gives a lot of the same generic 'scripted' answers in interviews as basically everyone else. we just get some funny soundbites here and there)

Like bro is just German. Yes he's definitely adopted some Canadian-isms, but he is still so very German. And even so, 'German' does not equal 'rude'. Which is where this whole stupid discourse always comes back to: people saying he's rude when he's not, then other people going, 'well yeah of course he's rude and/or detached, he's German' which like... now you're just stereotyping and insulting an entire country of people.

Cultural differences are definitely a thing! But honestly, there's plenty of North American media and audiences that love off-beat humour, snappy responses, and honest commentary. Authenticity from guests/stars/whomever is well received. The problem is it depends on the media outlet and their target audience more than anything else, which most public figures find out the longer they're in the spotlight. You figure out what you can say to who. And like, for all we complain about a lot of sports media (rightly so), aside from a few fuck-ass reports who have nothing better to do, most of the articles or interviews I've seen with or about Leon have been positive. He usually gets laughs from the Edmonton media. He seems well liked by staff and reporters and fans, and of course friends and family and the team. From what I've seen, at least. In my (admittedly quite limited) online experience, the people complaining about Leon being 'rude' or 'unprofessional' are usually randoms online who already don't like him for one reason or another. Which is fine they don't have to like him, but like... just don't speak on it then. Why waste your energy?

i made a post abt leon so i want to make one abt ada now . this will be even more incoherent than my leon post bc my thoughts abt ada are a lot less organized lol.

mainly just talking abt how ppl mischaracterize her despite ... literally everything. i'll probably mention re4r spoilers if that matters to you! i'll only make brief mentions to separate ways, so please be wary of that stuff :)

i feel like a lot of resident evil characters get mischaracterized, but ada seems to get it the worst imo. a lot of people seem to just take her at face value and they're so stuck on portraying her as manipulative or that she just doesn't care abt leon which is. not even true LMFAO

ada's been shown to care very much abt leon! she's saved his ass a lot despite the fact that she literally doesn't even need to. she could see him in trouble and just leave, but she doesn't because she.. cares about him? like i don't know why people like to close their eyes when it comes to this stuff.

i would like to bring up the umbrella chronicles, specifically ada's side story, death's door. death's door shows ada's escape from the NEST, and after she escapes from the sewers, she goes to meet with one of her contacts, who she finds dead. a computer powers on to show wesker, and as soon as he mentions her having aided leon, she seems to tense up almost. ada isn't really outwardly emotive for the most part, but the way i viewed her tensing up in that moment was something maybe close to anger?

obviously it could be me reading too much into it or reading it wrong, but she definitely didn't seem too happy as soon as leon's name left his mouth lol. yes it could also be because of him saying that she betrayed him, but ultimately it could've been a mix of the two.

i do want to try and tackle re2r now which is going to be kind of messy so bear with me if i word something weird.

i think re2r is where a lot of people grab on to the idea of ada strictly only ever manipulating leon and using him. and i'm not going to type out this big long thing and act like ada definitely didn't use leon for her own goal, because she did!

THAT BEING SAID, she does also express care for him. when leon gets shot in the shoulder, she patches him up and uses her trench coat to cover him up. did she have to? absolutely not. she could've just left him there without helping him, but she did!

ada really is not as cold and emotionless as some people like to portray her as, and i think acting like she's incapable of actually caring abt leon is genuinely just. dumb?

i'll jump to re4r now because the dogshit takes i've had to see abt ada even to this day kills me. a lot of them do seem to center on how people viewed her in 2r, but hopefully with the release of separate ways people start opening their minds abt her a little more.

i think 4r does a very good job showing how ada cares about leon! i don't want to dip too much into separate ways since i haven't played it yet and i've only watched a handful of things abt it, but like. she does do a lot of things to help leon during the story of 4r. she gets saddler's attention so that leon can help ashley. she does a LOT of things for leon very willingly! she very willingly helps leon and it really isn't just bc she's wanting to use or manipulate him lol.

there's so much to ada's character that people just don't understand and don't seem to want to understand, which does suck a lot. a lot of people do seem to think she's a bad person because of the work she does, and i have seen some people say that she Obviously Doesn't Care about this or that. not to bring up the ending to re4r but the moment wesker mentions that there would be billions of casualties, you can see her change in body language, and she immediately takes control of the chopper. yes, ada is morally grey, but ada isn't inherently a bad person. the point of morally grey characters is that they aren't supposed to be viewed as 100% bad OR 100% good.

ada's moral greyness seems to be a very weird point of contention for people, and while i do get preferring characters that are more direct about their motivations, i feel like having characters that are morally grey bring a lot to a story. if you have a cast of characters that are always 100% good or 100% bad and there's no hint of moral greyness, it's.. kind of boring?

like idk, personally i like that ada is more morally grey. i think it compliments how leon is very much hellbent on helping and saving as many people as he can.

i do think a lot of the dislike or outright hatred towards ada is bc of how people view + treat leon, which sucks. really ultimately, as naive as leon may be sometimes, he's not a baby. i think a lot of this also comes from general mischaracterization of leon, but that's a post for another day since this is already incredibly long LMFAO.

tl;dr: ada isn't a bad character just because you don't like her. ada isn't a bad person because of her being morally grey. i think watering her down to "bad and manipulative" without looking at the rest of her character is doing her a disservice. i'm not really saying all of this to be like "you HAVE to like ada NOW" but i do just want people to understand her a little more 😭

Saw your post about how hard it is to characterize Ada and I just had some thoughts:

For Ada especially. When going back to OGRE2’s writing there were literally unsubtle exposition that Capcom throws right into the players face with how Ada views herself and her wants as character “I know I’m not capable of caring about anyone, but I don’t want to lose you” to “I really wanted to escape with you Leon, escape from everything”. So I feel like Ada does want to leave the Spy life, but can’t. Hopefully Capcom remembers this and decides to expand on this in a future game.

And with Resident Evil I feel a big part of the game is the concept of scenarios. Obviously there is the “official” canon, but I feel different scenarios are still in the realm of what the characters would do. In OG Leon A/Claire B, in the scenario where she saw a Claire fighting the tyrant she would absolutely help despite not knowing her, so this popular belief she’s the type to only help Leon or anyone for her own gain is false.

The epilogue card of her you get after beating OGRE3 where she cries after what she went through in Raccoon city, who’s to say that not the type of feeling/reaction she still had when they basically still kept Leon’s epilogue. Maybe she still does after every difficult jobs she takes on. “I’m just a Woman who fell in love with you” and “A woman looks at herself in the mirror” Capcom emphasizes a lot of the difference between Ada the woman vs Ada the spy. Even at the end of Separate Ways when her helicopter flies away, she takes off her playful mask she uses with Leon, closes her eyes to let out huge sigh and stares off into the sun with such a melancholic expression. I feel like Ada’s vulnerability has always been on display for people who paid attention.

When she talks about Luis in Separate Ways, “His history betrays an enthusiasm I once shared.” Makes u think about a young version of herself who had an enthusiastic outlook on life, but clearly something she experienced destroyed that. I’m sure she saw a lot of that in Leon when she first met him too, I’d like to think after their experience together it he brought back some of her positive outlook on life.

And I know it’s popular that Ada is super but when she says to Krauser, “I don’t like it when men play rough” I think she totally means it, if anyone is gonna be soft with her it’s gonna be Leon 😂

Even her in Umbrella Chronicles “it is important to remain calm and collected even in the most extreme situations” is why she’s so good at her job. It’s funny bc when I watch playthroughs of RE2R so many people are always like “how is she so calm?!” when she first shows up. She likely does have an initial panicking but can turn it off immediately to focus. Staying calm is such a big part of her section too, once Mr. X arrives, all of a sudden people panic and can’t think straight enough to remember her hacking tool they used less than a minute ago lol

Sorry for all the random thoughts I had to get out, even though this is what I feel I still love seeing other peoples interpretation of Ada, so when you ever do Ada’s POV I’ll be interested to see!

one of the characterizations i don't see often talked about is the fact that it's likely she was forced into a life of crime from a young age and needed it to live. most people who are normal would see this as a form of abuse/trafficking/or just taking advantage of her. i see it as interesting if she choose to use that, to her advantage and using those same organizations that tried to use her. it makes more sense and gives her a sense of agency on why she double crosses people. she does it to whoever she sees is "the lesser of two evils."

and when she comes across people like leon who are genuinely good people, especially in re2 (albeit a bit naive, since leon still was appealing to authority example: chief irons, and how he still works for the government (corrupt) for many years)

I feel like Ada’s vulnerability has always been on display for people who paid attention.

this is literally why i think that people who do not pay attention to ada completely misunderstand her as a character. she's not an easy character to read, and it's so easy to just label her as some dumbed down "spy lady with no feelings" type of stereotype. like genuinely i think ada antis just lack critical thinking skills and media literacy because i've seen the worst takes about ada. and they're always rooted in

they didn't actually pay attention to the story

they didn't even play ada's campaigns

they didn't try to view ada's story from an unbiased perspective

they still think carla is ada in re6

or they're being outwardly misogynistic

or they're being racist

or both or all of the above

if people can't see in re4r that ada has several moments of vulnerability, then i just have no faith in people lol

the characterization of ada in separate ways is so needed for remake separate ways, i just need to see more of what she's like behind the facade of "ada wong, the mercenary." we've always seen glimpses of it because we actually pay attention lmao. but yes we need more

i think to think that she's so detached from her personal self sometimes she even scares herself. she definitely does when she cares for others and cares about leon. she's an incredibly multi-faceted but also flawed character, and we love that. give us women that make mistakes and then have to live with it. have her develop and change. have her self reflect on her choices.

like. sooooo many of them lol. can i say the entire cast of v3? because honest to god that's my answer -- even my faves in v3 leave Something to be desired

beyond that, i actually think that thh and gbd do a really good job of stretching characters to their maximum narrative utility before killing them off, and i do feel like in both games the most narratively flexible ones are the ones who live. i think if i had to say anyone from those games it'd probably be leon or sayaka just because the way the free time events work in trigger happy havoc work mean they get like three events and then they die and you never get to know more lmfaoo (but even then i still don't think their characters are Lacking in the way that the v3 cast is for me. sorry for being a v3 hater lol)

komaeda's, obviously LMFAO. god every time i replay sdr2 chapter 5 im struck by it all over again. like they literally had to guess!! even with nanami revealing herself! even then! they still had to be like well. hope his luck actually worked out! king popped off and the entire trial is SO good for advancing the plot and tying off hinata's dynamics with BOTH komaeda and nanami! the moment of sickening clarity when hinata realizes that he DOES understand how komaeda's brain works, and knows what his intentions really were? nanami and hinata's final goodbye? uuuugh sdr2 chapter 5 i love youuuuu.

47. A headcanon you have about a character?

*pushes two million unfinished drafts of Togami Headcanons to the side* i am going to talk about komaru. i think she's a butch lesbian and every time she's depicted as feminine in fanart my soul dies a little even though butch komaru exists solely in my head. i also think she's really sporty, but i've talked about that elsewhere hehe.

ok i'll talk about togami a little bit. it's 100% projection but i think he's agender. not in a way where he like. actively thinks about it -- even at Full Self-Actualization i'm not sure if i ever see him actually realizing it and actively thinking about himself in that way -- but i just dont think he as any particular connection to being a *man* outside of how it plays into his attraction to other men/his family's expectations of producing heirs. like he just kind of is how he is and doesn't feel compelled to make any particular effort to present as masculine. i could make a joke here about his gender just being Togami, but genuinely i do think that rings true. he's not a boy or a girl but a secret third thing (byakuya togami™️) does this make sense. like. to anyone (<- projecting and insane) whatever. i think he would look nice in a floor length skirt.

i... usually play the games on silent :X legit i know like 3 songs including mr monokumas lesson. just tried to remember what beautiful days sounded like and the wii sports theme is what my brain supplied (<- embarrassed)

i WILL say that i think drv3 has the best opening track of any of the games. its so jazzy and fun hehe

51. Character you thought you were gonna dislike but loved in the end?

mmm. hard to say, honestly? it's been so many years since i formed first impressions of the thh and gbd casts that i kind of dont even remember what i first thought of them? i have a lot of v3 characters who i thought i would like and wound up feeling kind of ehh about, but that's not the question lol

i think, Big Terrible Writing Choice aside, i was really surprised by how much i wound up actually *liking* korekiyo? like okay OBVIOUSLY they took his character in a terrible direction but before that when he's just like, a weird little freak? that ruled lol

in terms of characters that i've had full turnarounds in opinion over the course of 2012-2022? i remember not particularly liking/caring about kirigiri, sayaka, fukawa, souda, or gundam when i first read the playthroughs of their games, and now they're some of my favorites hehe. but that's less about me going *into* the games thinking i wouldnt like them -- because in both cases i went in completely blind -- and more about them growing on me like a fungus over successive playthroughs lol

56. Best free time events?

ok. take this with a grain of salt because i'm stalled out in my sdr2 replay rn so i haven't redone the free time events for that game in awhile/haven't done any v3 ftes besides maki's and ouma's because im a hater.

i think kirigiri has really good fte's. i love that she gets a little sillay in them and how subtle her progression from "why are you talking to me" to "i care deeply about you" is. i also really appreciate how the game cutting her off as an option for free time at certain points serves to make that progression feel really natural with the game's actual plot. love you miss kirigiri.

mondo's are really great as well, he's such a fun guy to interact with and him talking about wanting to be a carpenter and loving his stupid tiny dog and being too nervous to ask girls out all add such levity to his character and make it SO sad when he dies. like damn that biker gang leader trapped in a murder game really is just like. some guy in high school :-( i also loved that they brought him wanting to be a carpenter back in dr:s! made my heart soar uuuuugh i love you mondo, sorry i never ever talk about you

i also agree with @ovidiomedes about thh's c3 kind of dragging. it's one of my favorite trials, but the actual chapter is. really slow lol. i think part of that is due to the anticipation of chapters 4-6 which are some of my all time favorites across all three games, but i think it has larger narrative problems that contribute to that dragging feeling ://

hi, it me again (again)! about everything mia: i think it's all capcom being capcom about its female characters (remember Claire? Jill? Rebecca? Ada? literal mains and they've been gone for years from the games, it's all been chris and leon main and chris as the only main that appears in the last two, with Ethan as main; remakes not count) so what little they gave us is just ehh not enough for a full picture like you said; she was kinda interesting in 7 but sidelined in 8+dlc, and damsel in distress for both main entries. as capcom said they're done with the Winters for now... we may never know if there was something interesting like, oh she got reminded of Evie and trauma, or resentment because Ethan's dead after saving her, or just chris taking the bow child away because she's dangerous?? idk, capcom tell us! and stop sidelining your women characters!

no one telling Rose about Ethan in dlc just rubs the wrong way. like 16 years of nothing, no pics or stories... like they didn't even tell her he'd be proud of her? isn't that something most people tell kids with a dead parent? i am a sad panda (but it's narratively nice because she gets to explore his memories, that's so very private and adorable <3). like, I get it the memories are painful but taking away the kid's right to know? D:

He only knew she had something to do with it but nothing concrete, and every time he wanted to talk about it, they fought; last instances with the real mia were the hospital where she "blew up" at him for mentioning Louisiana and the flashback post crash at the beginning of RE8. (Miranda took her place a day before or same day 8 happens, because same clothes) It's Chris that finds photos of mia with miranda and eveline in Miranda's lab, but he already knows they worked together so he has no reaction to that, but he does to her documents of Spencer.

Right!? Someone, anyone, should have told her at least the bare minimum! If nothing else, to keep 'the asset' happy so she wouldn't become a problem. Like, if nothing else you'd expect them to at least use that logic if the problem was them not seeing her as a literal child. It's so very odd. I mean, it's obviously that way just so they can get that one cute scene (I too absolutely adore the childhood memories scene. was one of the best moments of the game really) but that doesn't work as well narratively-wise. BA’s Reckoning

Yes, I stole this title from the Sporkful podcast. You should check it out!

So just a reminder the whole thing that kicked this off was when Tammie Teclemariam tweeted the photo of Rapoport in brown face (yes its brown face its a purposeful caricature of Puerto Rican ppl, his girlfriend called him her papi in the caption as well) saying he should simply write the article on Puerto Rican food then (the issue was Illyanna Maisonet, a Puerto Rican food writer, got rejected rudely by Rapo for her pitch to write about Puerto Rican food) Which brings up the larger issue of BA being racist and not covering any other dishes besides Eurocentric ones, and the ones that aren't Eurocentric are almost always either whitewashed or done by white people which is what happened with Masionet’s article (this is where Amanda Shapiro and Meryl Rothstein come in).

This led to a zoom meeting where Rapo made a shitty apology leading Sohla El-Waylly’s instagram posts, where she condemns Rapo, talks about her 50k salary despite having 15 years of restaurant experience (She ran a fucking restaurant and 50k in NYC is pathetic), being hired to help white editors, and not being paid for ANY of her video appearances (none of the poc you see in videos have been compensated including the zoom videos). Which has led to many people at BA being exposed for being terrible (Conde Nast is the parent company and owns BA, Vogue, Architectural Digest, Allure, Glamour, Wired, Epicurious,Teen Vogue among other things... also take note how most of these have consistently been criticized for their racism or “race problems”)

ANYWAY here’s a general guide of what each BA person has done, this is in no way comprehensive, feel free to investigate on your own, always fact check and form your own opinions!

Adam Rapoport: Brown face, not paying his non-white employees for their video appearances, treating his assistant Ryan Walker-Hartshorn (a black woman) like shit (she was working overtime and was barely making rent with what he was paying her), he's sexist (see every video with Molly) and racist (mixing up Sohla and Priya Krishna and never apologizing) and more!

Check out the Business Insider piece, twitter (Tammie’s, Christina Chaey’s, and Priya’s), Sohla’s podcast and interviews, and someone made a compilation of Rapo being condescending I think

Matt Duckor: Disgusting, racist, homophobic, sexist all around terrible person, probably the most obviously terrible of the bunch (see Rick Martinez’s insta plus Duckor’s own tweets), strung along Sohla for months saying that her pay was “stuck in legal” so that she would keep appearing in videos, gave Sohla a contract when this stuff first started happening to try and shut her up, HE is the one deciding pay for everyone at BA and was the one not paying poc for video appearances.

Chris Morocco: Made one (1) basic post (simply a reply to Molly calling him out actually) at the beginning of all this agreeing to not be in anymore videos until his coworkers got paid/backpay, he said he was complicit (duh) but also that he had no idea this was happening, but guess what? He is the one that hired Sohla for only 50k! There is a whole can of worms about how little Sohla was hired for despite her experience plus talent along with her current pay and Chris is a part of that. Also both his gumbo video and Halo Halo recipe are downright disrespectful at BEST and they should not have had a white man doing them (again with the white people doing articles/videos that can be EASILY given to someone whose actually part of that culture) and before anyone says anything yes the gumbo was for Chris’s show (strange how only white ppl get shows or in Andy’s case unless you’re friends with a higher up) still doesn't make the video less disrespectful, also he’s SAID he is friends with Anna Wintour (head of vogue, and a racist “there’s no room for black women” the reason the vogue challenge is happening)

Yasuhiro Hagakure- Gymnast (you see this tall goof who acts like an older brother to everyone and wonder HOW he’s a gymnast. he’s completely different in competitions, though still lighthearted. becomes a big brother figure to mukuro and junko especially <3 also trans bc i say so.)

Leon Kuwata- Traditional Dancer (he just. kinda hates it. it takes SO much work and effort but he takes to it naturally. his cousin kanon is NOT like in canon, instead she’s helpful. he’d literally rather be doing anything else. doesn’t know how to do anything like... basic either. can’t cook. cant do his own laundry. everything was dedicated to traditional japanese dancing before he attended HPA.)

Hifumi Yamada- (???) (reserve course) Protagonist! My BOY. HIFUMI IS GOOD OKAY. He’s autistic and loves anime and gaming! he’s not particularly ultimate-leveled at them, or anything else! At one point he joins the student council as a reserve course representative even if he’s only a freshman :) He’s also a moderator in Hina’s livestream chat, under the username of JusticeHammer, fastest ban hammer this side of the internet. Has actual visions in dreams and when she suddenly faints, but doesn’t really realize they’re uhh Real Visions for a WHILE. uses her status as an ultimate clairvoyant to trick and bully kids when in school for a LONG time, though her homelife wasn’t great with her grandmother trying to find ways to make her visions more consistent. SHES ALSO 12 WHEN SHE JOINS THE 77TH CLASS. she’s just so advanced in academics and her ultimate is so interesting hope’s peak cant HELP but scout her early. she has SO many issues guys no one appreciates hiyoko enough, autistic gifted kid hiyoko my beloved.)

Akane Owari- Gambler (started gambling to help out her family and Got Good at it. is very very conscious of money and food like all the time. Runs the hope’s peak betting pools once she arrives. these ultimates bet on a lot of things. she ALWAYS wins. until she doesnt!!!)

Mikan Tsumiki- Martial Artist (ohhhh Mikan. Still anxious and clumsy (though not like THAT in canon) and literally no one looks at her and thinks Oh The ULTIMATE martial artist?? it isn’t until you see her in the ring that you understand. She started learning self defense as a kid because her (bad) parents essentially said she had to rely on and protect herself and no one else would help.)

Kazuichi Souda- Pop Idol (OH TRANS ICON? he’s nervous and paranoid about Everything still, though now it’s like. oh the entire world is always watching my every move this is Okay (: has the brightest neon album eras. he literally keeps up a like. weird chad persona when interacting with people because he’s masking how hard he’s constantly just internally screaming.)

Nagito Komaeda- Soldier (AHAHAH my mans got issues problems disorder he’s a messssss, this trans guy, this absolute gay. this boy leveled a city of thousands of people with his own hands and some bombs. Teruteru Hanamura- Biker Gang Leader (started with shaking down some jerks who didn’t pay their food and drink tabs at his mama’s restaurant. now he RUNS their tiny town. His siblings are essentially gang mascots, he works hard to keep them out of trouble (while bringing them to like. meetings where he ends up beating a dude almost to death. its fine). most of what he does it to get more money to keep the restaurant afloat and care for his mama with her health conditions.)

Nekomaru Nidai- Fashionista (the drama. the CHAOS. most people are like ohhh we can never understand this artistic genius when he’s literally just. vibing and has ADHD and a love for coffee. Works a lot on accessible clothing lines for disabled people! Also he and Kazuichi work together sometimes, Nekomaru is good at calming Kaz down and seeing like, the root of whatever problem and making it better. ALSO A TRANS ICON and just flaunts it.)

Imposter- In the hope’s peak days they are impersonating Ryota Mitarai, as a part of the 77th class. In the Killing Game they impersonate Mondo Oowada as the Ultimate Prince. They’re doin’ their best.

Ibuki Mioda- (???) (Izuru Kamakura) Protagonist! Gundham Tanaka’s older sister (though they’re in the same school year). Nonbinary and using just. an array of pronouns alongside she/her, and jokingly fights with gundham for neopronouns like MOM said it’s MY TURN on the rawrself pronouns. She attends the reserve course to stay at her brother’s side. She dresses loudly and acts even louder because !!! she wants to stand out!! in the middle of this drab reserve course hell!!  but when things go down, she wants to be someone, to be worthy of being her amazing brother’s big sister. so she accepts some offers.

Ruruka Ando- Ultimate Pharmacist (She constantly asks Seiko for new tools for her developments in medicine, saying its all for the advancement of humanity, so Seiko denying any request is SELFISH, though she never thinks to make anything for seiko’s health issues. Dating Izayoi. Specializes in medicine for mental health. Not Doing Great :)

Sonosuke Izayoi- Ultimate Confectioner (He loves sweets. LOVES them. Creates things that look plain, ordinary. but taste so GOOD you CRY and maybe ascend for a little bit. sometimes Ando makes cool new drugs to put in the sweets, who knows! It’s a mystery! He always has like. a huge refrigerated case of fresh cakes, and constantly has a lollipop in his own specialty recipe in his mouth.)

Also brings in a lot of fans to keep you at room temperature when you’re warm.

Honestly, he just wanted to put you in a bubble with him until you are better.

If you are too hot, he’ll run a cold bath for you to help you calm down.

“You’re not staying with me while I bathe.”

“That sucks that you think that way.”

Stands outside of the door, listening in to make sure you won’t die.

Sleeps on the floor next to your bed, and instantly checks up on you when he wakes up.

Chiaki Nanami

Puts you in a blanket caterpillar.

Makes sure you are comfortable!! That’s her main thing.

Cooking you food reminds her to eat, too, and she’ll make two of everything so you don’t have to eat alone.

Set up a chair by your bed to sit on.

Her staying up to make sure you are okay makes her more sleepy.

She’s fall asleep on your stomach a lot.

You have to ask her to game too, but she’s scared it’ll give you a headache or stress you out.

But you both sit in bed and play together.

It doesn’t stress you out like she thought, it made you feel a lot better.

She always lifts up your mood, everything she does is so cute.

In the morning, she’ll have you sit up so she could use her nails to scratch your back, kissing your shoulder blades in the process. 

She knows you’ll get better, so she isn’t too concerned, but she worries about you being uncomfortable.

Is the most concerned.

Gives you every blanket in the house, trying to make sure that you are alright.

She sings you to sleep every night, but she doesn’t take song requests.

Sometimes she gets way too into it and just keeps you up.

And when you’re too cold, she’ll put on a cold bath and bathe with you, cleaning you to make sure you are taking care of yourself.

In the morning, when you wake up, she’ll brush your hair.

Constantly reminds you to take medicine, even like ten minutes after she just gave you some.

Big on having you take medicine, because she thinks it’s the cure to everything.

I’m thinking about it and!!! he has a bi pride fishtail, a trans pride arrow stitch, a black and neon green railroad, a pastel pink/blue/purple/yellow ladder, a jelly yellow and green dragon scale, a rainbow double cross, and a bunch more!!! he also has a bunch with charms and beads added into them!!!!

He also makes them for his friends even if he knows they won’t wear them!! Like Toko, for example, isn’t the biggest fan of jewelry because she doesn’t like the texture, but he creates one for her anyway and fills it with so much love (it looks like a daisy chain!!!! because at least she’ll be able to look at it and hold it and still be interested in it without it needing to be on her wrist!!!)

he makes a ton of bright colored ones for Mukuro (usually either single or inverted fishtail because he knows she wouldn’t enjoy wearing anything too heavy or overbearing) so that she has more mobile visual stims!!!

similar for Jill!! although most of hers tend to be black and bright neon rainbow in various bulkier styles!!!! Jill will also force him to let her look at his bracelet-covered arm whenever they hang out because. my god,,,,,,so many Colors™️

he’s found that togami prefers black and white simpler styles, and that Kyoko absolutely adores singles, fishtails, and double fishtails in any shade of purple, and that Mondo likes any of the larger styles in darker colors + blacks and grays!!! Chihiro loves anything with jelly and glitter bands!!!

Leon usually only wears one at a time, but he cycles through every single one that his boyfriend’s ever made for him because????? GOD they’re so cool and his boyfriend is so crafty and incredible and just,,,,,,,,,hvvvhvv every time he looks at the one he’s wearing he’s able to calm himself down and remember that Makoto loves him........it’s also very good for stim and fidgeting <3

about to embarrass myself/ramble under the cut. tldr;

GOD please play re2 remake if u like survival horror......... its very good.... there was a reason people flipped tf out a few years ago when it got announced at e3. i wasnt one of those ppl cause i had not played any re games but a copy came in at work after it came out and. well. its really good. gameplay wise it feels good to run around and shoot zombies and its pretty fuckin short honestly (which more games should be! not every game needs to be like 100 plus hours lol). like doing both routes the first time probably will take you at MOST 15 hours? but once u know where everything is makes it obvious how short of a game it is. like i can get thru one route in around 4 hours. could probably do less but im not a speedrunner

but ANYWAYS.....  mr x............ him............ a bio engineered weapon made by the capitalist pharmaceutical company umbrella who sells viruses to the highest bidder without any care of humanity or how those viruses would affect people..... and all the other tyrants and bio weapons made drive me fucking crazy

and GOD in the remake mr x is like.... leons “villain” if u havent played the game. he stalks/chases/tries to kill him for a large portion of the first part of the game and then shows back up at the end for the final battle. always getting up in leons space, grabbing him, manhandling him.... literally following him like a ravenous wolf who wont and will never give up even after being blown up by a fuckin car bomb and then being set on fire.... unstopping even while getting shot with bullet after bullet... and even when he takes a knee its only for a few seconds and he just gets right back up and goes back to trying to get to leon....  the player is obviously not supposed to view this in a gay way. but i am gay and view it in a gay way

like listen. i think it would be very neat if x going to the rpd was his first mission. and he sees leon after lifting up that helicopter one handed and he fucking feels something for the first time. and he tries killing leon multiple times but each time he gets away he cant tell it its because leon is actually succeeding in getting away or if hes letting him. and he feels defective and KNOWS umbrella will deactivate him if he goes back so he just breaks the tracking/info reciever on the side of his head. but he ends up feeling even MORE lost and not knowing what to do with himself now bc all hes known is following orders... so the only thing he can think of is going to leon

and leon is like ?????? what the fuck????? and def tries to shoot him lol but somehow comes to some sort of shaky truce or understanding..... x following him around like a lost puppy and protecting him because destroying zombies satiates that urge hes grown to want to Hurt things but also because he realizes he doesnt want anything to hurt leon..... leon realizing that this monster actually has feelings and trying to understand him better..... god i have so many feelings about them and literally none of it is canon and stuff i just made up but i care them So Fucking MUCH!!!!!!!!

THOUGHTS ON POKÉMON SWORD/SHIELD

Firstly, I really like most of the new Pokémon: pretty great stuff, imo. And can I just say that the Galerian forms are objectively nicer to look at than most of the Alolan forms? Raticate and dugtrio were fucking horrible. In hindsight, a lot of the Gen 7 designs were mediocre, and I especially hated the ultra beasts—they looked like fucking digimon. So I’m glad that the designers seem to be going back to simpler roots: most of the new mons have a lot more in common with Gen 6 mon, the aesthetic of whom I mostly loved.

Like sorry dexers but SWSH is actually a more than decent game; obviously the cut sucks, but I’m sure there will be DLC or something that will reincorporate them. Though there are definitely things that can be improved and things that were left out, I honestly enjoyed this game more than I enjoyed Alola, Sinnoh, and Unova, and I think the replay-ibility is pretty good. I finished the main story in two and a half days and really enjoyed it. Very aesthetically pleasing, and nowhere near as hand-holdy as some past games.

I also really liked a lot of the characters; they were simple and to-the-point, but not cardboard-cutouts. For one, Hop is not a Hau clone; he’s honestly a vast improvement, and way more of a compelling rival. Like I legitimately felt bad for him when I beat him, and his moments of insecurity and frustration were way more realistic than Hau’s constant blank positivity and pluckiness. As much as I liked Lily’s arc in Alola, it got really tiring to watch the only main female character be so limp and timid and have to be rescued by the guys constantly; so while yes, Marnie wasn’t quite as developed, I actually prefer her. She’s soft-spoken but determined, and worked hard to rise beyond her impoverished hometown. Plus she’s an adorable little punk with a cute northern English accent (I think) and I love her. Sonia’s arc was basic, but effective, as I think a lot of millennials can relate to her plight: directionless young adult unsure what she wants to do who feels pressured by her family to be more productive and start a career. I think we’ve all been there. Unpopular opinion tho: I fucking hate Leon lmao what a cocky, boring tool—I couldn’t stand him within minutes of encountering him, and COULDNT WAIT to wipe the floor with him at the end. What kind of douche walks around with a champion cape? Felt so good to kick is ass, though it WAS a tough fight. Bede was refreshing just because I miss having asshole rivals—like yeah he had a tragic past but I kind of loved that he remained an asshole for the entire game???

The gym leaders were really aesthetically pleasing, and I wish more of them were better developed. But I fucking LOVE Opal omg I cant get enough of weird old ladies, and her gym challenge was pretty funny. And Nessa is HOT as hell can I just say?? Piers is adorable too—his gym was the hardest for me, but I love his design and the theme of financial inequality implied in the state of Spikemuth and his lack of access to Dynamaxing. But fuck his obstagoon wrecked my ass, dynamax or not. Team yell were endearing too: more well-rounded than Skull, in my opinion. Just a bunch of well-meaning hooligans who just want to make their hometown better. I liked that the villains were people in power—it was realistic, and more subtle than Alola. Wish we could have heard more about Rose’s motivations and that the final battle with him could be more difficult, but it was still fairly compelling. The finale felt too short, though: I would have liked to see it drawn out a little longer.

I also think the games need to work on difficulty scaling: it tends to be very erratic. I’m NOT a fan of the mandatory exp share, as it made me end up being 5+ levels higher than all other trainers—I one-shotted nearly every Pokémon on the gym leaders teams in the championship, as they were STILL in the low to mid 50s. However, the difficulty spike between them and Leon is pretty severe: I went from sweeping everyone with my level 62 inteleon to just BARELY beating the champion with only 2 Pokémon remaining (granted I have a no item rule to make the battles at least somewhat challenging). I wish everyone had been at least ALMOST as hard, as I felt legitimately proud after beating Leon. While I’m glad I don’t have to grind anymore like in the old games (bc let’s face it: nobody wants to spend two hours knocking out gravelers in victory road to get remotely close to elite 4 level), they need to find a happy medium, and the permanent exp share is not it. At least in Gen 6/7 you could turn it off! USUM had a similar problem: most of the trainers and kahunas were insanely easy, but then the totem battles were stupid difficult and unfair (I have literally screamed during the togedamaru fight—it’s such bullshit). I think the two games that nailed difficulty scaling were ruby/sapphire/emerald, and the spin-off game Gale of Darkness. While there were of course pushover trainers, those games were really good at keeping fellow trainers close in level to you, and boss battles legitimately challenging. My opinion is that unless you go out of your way to overlevel, you should be able to progress organically through the game while staying no more than two or three levels higher than most opponents.

leon is old as dirt and all that but i think, as a human, he was a good person? not even super power or money hungry, he really just wanted to make the most of his life because as far as he knew, life was short as fuck but lol. he hardly even remembers the person he used to be.

not to get too buffy the vampire slayer on you, but when he was bitten, he...changed. not all at once, and it wasn’t like a literal demon suddenly inhabited his body and his soul died, BUT it was more like...once he had access to such power, namely becoming more invincible than a human and gaining inhuman strength, he got carried away with it. he wanted more.

he became one of the most powerful men in all of greece and got bored of that so eventually he started his own coven, which became extremely well-known and feared, but he was eventually overthrown and felt a bit like a fuckin loser

but that didn’t really change him. it wasn’t until he found a young girl on the verge of death, begging for help, that his life actually fell apart. he knew it was a bad idea but he decided to turn her and um! it was bad fam. she ended up destroying an entire village because she was like um...nine. and he had to kill her anyways because clearly she was a menace so!

i guess being a vampire is kind of? shitty??? you just gotta kill people all the time and then when you decide to save them they just kill even MORE people?! the more he thought about it, the more he saw being a vampire as a battle that he couldn’t win. but he didn’t want to...die. he just? stopped caring. about power, money, influence, all of it.

over the centuries he’s mostly done a lot of studying and traveling. it’s one of the only things about immortality that he genuinely still enjoys. he’s settled down in new york city for now because he wants to...give stability a try...i guess. and he knows People here and maybe he wouldn’t Hate to see them again idk!

he found a good, fairly solitary job at the amnh, where he pretty much just does his research and tells other people what to do and then they leave him alone to do his work. what a dream. i said he doesn’t care about money but OBVIOUSLY he has a lot of it because that’s what happens when you Have to work to feel satisfied in your endless life and that means endless paychecks and well he has qualifications for pretty much any job he’d ever want and just includes the necessary prerequisites as necessary. and those jobs are good bc he! smort.
