'I've never been in a dungeon before' and 'Who's Ganon?' have literally made some of the BEST reaction panels in Lu I just-
They are very similar conversations- where a Link is pointing out/asking about something that the others have experienced and they haven't. Which is really cool to compare and contrast but they all just freak out about it
Genuinely some of the best conversations in Lu
The lesson here is that apparently the Links will always be freaked out when one of them has missed out on one of the Zelda Fundamentals™

hiiii! have you considered releasing tradewinds as a single purchase through a site like gumroad?
Hi anon!
So the reason Tradewinds was shelved and not published like 8 years ago, is because I couldn't find an Aboriginal sensitivity reader willing to read m/m with disturbing themes. I had sensitivity readers for the other side of things (like Matan and his heritage), but I kept either not finding anyone, or the one person I found took my $200 USD deposit and vanished and never spoke to me / responded to any of my emails.
As a result, I was uncomfortable distributing it anywhere broadly, even though I was relatively confident the novel isn't offensive, because I just don't know 100%.
I am a lot more confident releasing it via subscription as an exclusive novel, because the people who pay for subscription are often folks who are a) already used to my style of writing and b) generally know what to expect from me, vs. cold audiences who don't. I'm kind of kicking myself that I didn't realise that Tradewinds would make a great exclusive/paywalled release for subscription, because it means it's only ever going to find a very narrow bandwidth of readers.
Basically if I could release it for single purchase - as basically an ebook - I would have released it like 8 years ago, anon. And the reason I have actually released it this specific way is down to the fact that I'm just not really confident offering it for broader distribution.
That might change one day, if I happen to stumble across a sensitivity reader who is okay with my style of writing, who is reputable + has references (i.e. so I know I won't lose a fair chunk of money in the process, because that burned me pretty badly, not gonna lie). But until then, having Tradewinds be limited is the only way I'm comfortable releasing it at all.
Folks are more than welcome to sign up for one month, download the book (and read any other early access they want) and then leave. They can even just put 'I only wanted one thing and now I have it' in the exit survey so I know what they were there for if they want. Then it's still a single purchase (with some early access extras), and they still access the downloadable file. :)

because i know you have food opinions and i am thinking about it being in the carolinas this weekend. opinions on barbecuing?
my personal taste preference leans towards a dry rub on the meat and a vinegar based sauce. i like the way the acid pairs with the fattiness of the meat. but i also think the meat itself should taste really good on its own. i don't like when the meat comes pre-sauced when it's served, i prefer to dose sauce out myself, cause i want to be able to taste the meat on its own too. and because i think pre-saucing everything up front might be a way to try and hide what might be a bland or dry or otherwise not preferred piece of meat. i'm not a huge fan of the thick, sweet sauces that are based on molasses or tomato. i tend to find them too sweet and gloopy, and i generally avoid store/chain brand bbq sauces for that reason, but i won't outright turn up a house made sauce without trying it first. i think pork is my favorite meat for barbecue because it's got good flavor and lots of fat to stay juicy, yet it's not so strongly flavored that strong spice or sauce covers it up. though i prefer a cut like shoulder to ribs. beef brisket is good barbecued, i think that's a texas specialty, but i've had some really dry smoked brisket before, and also i'm very partial to brisket prepared other ways like braised or cured into pastrami. and as far as chicken goes, it CAN be quite good, but for me it's gotta be dark meat and it's gotta be cooked competently. i've had too much "barbecue" chicken that is either just plain roasted chicken drowned in mediocre sauce or overcooked so badly it's like chewing on linen fibers. but a nice, simple, salt cured/brined and dry rubbed chicken leg quarter smoked and served with a good sauce on the side? now that's a great dinner. gimme some cornbread and fried okra to go with. yummy

Key!!!!! Hope you're doing well~ 😊
Idk if you've seen this yet, but one of the in-game TTYD emails has this funny little bit re: Toadsworth and when i saw it i was like 'i gotta show this to key' so here it is, lmao
The pet-name is what gets me the most, I think 🤭
Ahhhhh!!!! Mrs.Luigi thank you so much for thinking about me enough to share this!! I love this!! 🥰🥰🥰🫂🫂🫂 Toadsworth lovers look at this lolol!!
Toadsworth out here having the time of his life!!! I ain't even mad at him who wouldn't be charmed by this guy? His rizz is immaculate 👌🏾. I never played the original and haven't bought the remake either, so it must be hilarious to see it while playing it personally (buys the game for this reason only)
I remember seeing this bit on GameXplain's video on Toadsworth, actually 🤭 and a little fun fact in reference to this video, in my most recent chapter of "Little Events" the mahjong bit related to him being one of the most difficult CPUs in that spinoff game hehe.

Boys are done with school with their half day Thursday. I'm working at their field day all day Wednesday. So I get today and tomorrow for my last quiet days before summer.
And T wipes out real bad on his bike on the way to school and was a half hour late.

yk i just recently saw that episode where belphie goes on his “i am the eldest brother 🤩🤩🤩” song and it just made me think abt how much he likes being an older brother :(( reminded me of jtta!!!
i didn't know about that episode til now (and i watched it definitely very legally) but oh my god that was incredible
that aside, you're so right!! belphie loves getting to be the teasing big brother, so (though he'll never say it), he absolutely treasures getting to play the role for ik

have you watched the pjo show?
I saw the first 2 episodes when they came out at a watch party one of my friends threw, and as soon as they ended I realized I didn't particularly care to keep going. It wasn't like, outrageously bad by any means, I just don't think it gripped me enough to want to continue, and there were enough odd adaptational choices that I thought weakened the story that I lost interest. I might have tuned back in if the changes actually built to something interesting in the later episodes, but from everything I've seen it kinda seems like they just took the teeth out of the story, which was what I was worried about.
That being said, the cast seems really great and well suited to their roles, so like, if they improve the writing and pacing in the later seasons and stop sanding down all the rough edges, I might pick it back up. But otherwise, pass.

More school stuff!!
These are spreads from a type specimen booklet, the objective was to make an 8-page 5″x5″ booklet showcasing the many uses and variations of only 1 typeface on any topic of your choice
So I once again decided to get silly with it--
My other topics in consideration were:
A full summary of all 16 seasons of Ninjago (scrapped because I’d have to write that summary myself and I did not have that kind of time [we were allowed to copy paste as long as we included our source])
The entire national Pokédex. All 1015 of them. Just 8 pages of listing every single Pokémon. It was funny until I realized that’s way way too much.
Narrowed it down to the full dex of just one region but that was still too much-- (body copy requirement was just 5 paragraphs and too much text would be too cluttered)

i love how khare is essentially a tragedy story playing out. having your normal life taken from you by chance i think is such a very real fear and how it could’ve happened to anyone make it more realistic i think. khare DOESNT have mc syndrome where everything up until this point was setting her up for this to happen. it just did . anyone could be that poor mennonite girl and who knows if there’s another one like khare out there!! the realism in how despite everything awful happening to her she STILL has to work a 9-5 and survive is so. weirdly american. i feel like it mirrors any story of an immigrant to america. despite the horrors (tm) happening - she still has to take care of herself because of this capitalistic hellscape we HAVE to keep persisting. khare can’t stop in the middle of her story and find a cure. khare HAS to have a job, HAS to blend in, HAS to try and just make it work. idk if i explained this very well but erm yeah that’s why i like khare :)
Please tell me your favorite things about my portrayal/muse?
TEETH YOU CAN'T BE DOING THIS TO ME THIS IS TOO KIND!!! Thank you so much though, for always being such an incredible person and for taking the time to send such an analysis in BECAUSE YOU GET IT. This is EXACTLY what I've been trying to convey all along and you understand so succinctly??? Her circumstances have been very extreme, getting kidnapped while vacationing in America and generally having her very normal life being taken away from her unwillingly and just... having to find her place again, regain some normalcy and lord if trying to make enough money to cover the rent just so you can keep a roof over your head is not something we're all struggling with!!! No matter what happens, finding your bearings and looking after yourself first and foremost is very important so I'm glad that struck a chord with you and that you found it so realistic (even though the mutation itself is completely sci-fi/junji ito horror asdfghjkl...)
Thank you again for understanding and putting everything into words so clearly. I know I haven't exactly written much about her struggles when it comes to day to day living but you hit the nail right on the head with how much of a struggle it actually is, having to lay low and blend in, work hard enough to make a little cash and do it all over again the next time. It's not glamorous or fun, there's no time to look for a cure even if she knew where to start. She's no main character, just a background NPC thrown into a situation anybody else could have ended up. This capitalistic hellspace is all she's got rn and she's just... trying to make things work as long as she can, even if she's got to cobble things together with bits of old chewing gum and dollar store glue.
Very high praise coming from an exceptional writer such as yourself! I cannot WAIT to interact with Dewey because she herself has even more of a tragic backstory through absolutely no fault of her own and these two could end up as very good friends because of it. They're in it together and shit sucks.

☯️ Define something that you're all about, as simply as you can.
Mobile accessibility. At least, when it comes to graphics and aesthetics. Mobile devices render things differently, so if you're using, say, a tiny icon on the dash... it's going to look super tiny on a mobile device, even if it's something with a larger screen like a tablet/iPad. So when it comes to picking a blog theme, blog pages, etc, I try to make them as easily accessible in that respect as possible. Often times that means adjusting the code or increasing the font sizes, because you get this weird dichotomy of things that are completely inaccessible on mobile, but might look okay on a desktop... and then you get other ones where when you're working with a large 1920x1080 screen, your blog takes up this tiny ass little box on the screen. That's not my vibe; that's poor use of screen space and I absolutely cannot stand it.
