AVATAR MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Neteyam's method of showing affection was hugs, touching and caressing. While on your part it was to turn red as a tomato every time neteyam came closer than a foot away. You had the biggest crush that could exist in all of pandora. And that's saying a lot. Loak was always making fun of your sketchbook that was full of sketches of neteyam, no matter what he was doing. You would sit far away and draw him. But you didn't get too close to him and you didn't talk to him much. While loak, kiri were very close to you, you kept your distance from neteyam. You thought that if you got too close, you would ruin everything.
On the other hand, neteyam thought you hated him. Yes… you hated him with all your soul and he knew it. Every time he tried to reach out to give you a hug. You would open your eyes wide and pull away. Or when they were playing with each other. It was truth or dare… and he chose dare. Spider dared him to give you a kiss. Neteyam got close to your face, he was excited… he saw your face turn red and you pushed him away. Getting up from your place and running out to your room. Everyone was silent, looking at each other. Neteyam was heartbroken, the boy was in love with you and you hated him.
But what bothered him the most was your closeness with loak. Why loak? i mean…the boy was not a good match for you. And yet you were more affectionate with him, it wasn't like you were on top of him all day. But if you let loak put his arm on your shoulder, or let him play with your hair a little bit. Or sit next to you. It was killing him, because he wanted to have that contact with you.
Neteyam had taken the day off, and decided to go to the small station that the humans had set up on one of the islets of the Metkayina clan, after the battles. Norm and several scientists were welcomed to the islands to help. And you were part of that group. "Hey…nete" greets norm as he sees the boy enter. "Hi norm…how are you?" neteyam greets politely. As he tried to look for you somewhere in the small lab. "Are you looking for Y/N?" says norm, teasing the boy a little. Neteyam laughs nervously. At that very moment you emerge from one of the storage rooms. You shift your gaze past neteyam.
"Y/n…h-hello!!!" says neteyam excitedly following a few steps behind you. His tail wagged back and forth, until you felt him tap you on the arm. "I'm so sorry" neteyam moved away a little bit. "Don't worry nete" you looked up to look at neteyam, you saw how excited he was. Maybe he was happy about something else. Norm walked over to you. "Y/N honey…please I need you to help me get some samples. I need you to bring me some leaves of this plant" Norm showed you a picture. "This plant grows in the forested area of this island" you take the tablet to look further into what you were going to look for. "Why doesn't Neteyam come with you?" says Norm, looking at Neteyam to give him a wink. Neteyam laughs a little but shifts his gaze so you don't spot them.
"Ahhh I don't know if…maybe" you say as you muddle over your words. "It's no problem…I'm free" neteyam almost screams with excitement. Once again his tail taps you on the arm, you nudge it a little. "Ready…well go then, I need them before nightfall" says norm, refocusing on his work. "Let's go neteyam" you say, taking the sample tube and handing it to neteyam to put in her waist bag. You stand a little quietly as you watch neteyam's hands slide down to his waist. He looks up to see how you are looking at him. "All good" the boy teases. "Yeah yeah come on" you push him a little. You could push him all day, if this was going to be the only form of contact with you, He was going to let you manhandle him all you want.
They walked a bit through the wooded area, you were in the front and neteyam was in the back enjoying the view. "hey why aren't you wearing the outfit I gave you?" asks neteyam following in your footsteps. "I've kept it…I haven't had a chance to wear it" you say. You hear neteyam chuckle a little, but you decide to ignore him. Sometime later you see the plant near a small waterfall, you walk over and sit down on one of the rocks. Neteyam sits down next to you, pulling out the sample tube. " wow…this plant is beautiful" you say, as you pluck several leaf samples.
"You say you can't use my gift…but look" neteyam touches the bracelet on your arm. "loak gave this to you last week and you are wearing it" spits neteyam waiting for you to react. " nete… this is a accessory, you gave me a complete navi outfit" you say trying to take the sample tube from his hands. Neteyam moves his hands away. "So? I made it myself for you…but it's okay. Everything I do sucks for you," Neteyam says. You remain silent, he just said that you think he disgusts you. "What the hell are you saying?" you say. Neteyam relaxes a little, you can see how frustrated he was.
"Why are you avoiding me…why don't you want me to be by your side? Even now…" neteyam takes the tube and then you watch as he takes your hand and places the object there in the palm of your hand. You didn't want to say anything, you didn't dare. You didn't have the courage to tell him that the only reason you didn't approach him was because you were a nervous wreck around him. You quickly took the samples, and started on your way to the lab. On the way back to the station, neither of you dared to speak. You arrived at the lab, entered and noticed how it was empty.
"He asks me for these samples and then disappears" you complain, as you place the tube of samples on norm's desk. You turn to see neteyam, he was sitting on a improvised couch that norm had created for the size of the avatars. "Neteyam… you don't disgust me" you say, causing the boy to look up. "Really?" the boy scoffs a little. You walk over to neteyam and sit down next to him. "Didn't you like my gift?" asks Neteyam. The boy looks at you, see how you avoid looking at him. "You see…you don't even want to look at me and " you get up from the couch, getting on your knees so you can reach neteyam's face in your hands. You pull him close and kiss him. Neteyam's eyes open wide. You pull away and sit quietly beside him.
Neteyam felt like his heart was going to burst out of his chest. His cheeks grew warm, as he broke out in a cold sweat. You had kissed him." I have a notebook dedicated only to you… and I don't come close because I don't know how to act around you" you say shyly. Before you begin to speak, you feel neteyam's lips collide with yours again. But this time you let your emotions fly and do what they have to do.

Shinso Hitoshi x implied fem!reader- HCS drabble (sfw)
lil note: even though the hcs are sfw i still wanna age shinso up bc 20+ shinso sounds so hot
Content: fluff, establish relationship, sleep... lots of sleep, not proofread bc im lazy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Shinso on face time is one kind of person: the one who's camera is faced toward their ceiling and he barely responds to what you say
"it wasn't even my fault, do you get it?" you ask your boyfriend over the phone. he's currently listening to you bitch about this girl that you don't like. ".... mhm" you bring your phone right up to your face, "toshi are you even listening?" he shuffles for a second and you see a tuft of purple hair, "yeah" he watches as you set your phone back down onto the dresser it was formerly on, "good"
-Something tells me he texts like this "wsp bby" or "wyd"
-When he does have the energy its maxed, there's no in between. there's sleepy idgaf shinso then there's "AHABAHOUSAHODHOUH" shinso
"what the hell are you doing?" hitoshi is currently waving his arms around like he's crazy or something. "i'm trying that dance you were teaching me the other day." ... "it looked nothing like that." he runs toward your bed and tackles you, "what the h, man? are you hating on my dancing??" the small giggle that escapes your lips lets him know everything, "yes. yes i am."
-He was super insecure when u started dating. he was always telling you how you deserve better than him :((
-His place always smells so good, seems like a candle guy
"Ooooo, is that the sugar cookie wax melt?" Without bothering to look up at you he nods his head softly. "You like that one." It warms your heart that he goes out of his way to get your fav scent
-SPEAKING OF SCENTS i might be biased but he smells so good. not like the earthy kinda scent some guys go for. he smells sweet like vanilla and lavender or cinnamon.
-HATES when you take pictures of him (he's okay with it if you're in them but he hates pics of himself) you have to cutest ones too. when he's sleep, when he's cuddling you, and sometimes you record his reaction to goofy shit you buy him
-he can fall asleep absolutely any where.
"Hitoshi, I got the snacks you wan-" Shinso's hood is over his head and he's sleeping on the bench outside of the corner store. "I was only in there for like two minutes..." You shake him violently because it's the only way to wake him. "huh?" he slowly opens those beautiful purple eyes, "come on toshi, let's go."
-I just know he snores, and it's not the obnoxious loud kind, more like white noise ik this aint abt shota but he definitly snores too
Hitoshi doesn't believe he snores, even though you've told him countless times he does. You've decided to record him tonight just to prove that you were right. His soft snores can be heard even with his comforter covering his head..
-Type of boyfriend to tease/"bully" you but if his friends tried to do it he'd get mad
-claims he's the best cook and he can only make scrambled eggs and rice
-he's 100% a small time gamer/streamer and his fans love you, cuz they'll see you bring him tea/water or some food and kiss his forehead and such
"Need anything else, before I go lay down?" He leans into your touch, "nah. thank you pretty." you kiss his forehead, "of course, you need to stay hydrated."

Tumblr media
Eddie’s annoyed with you when you’re not on time for Hellfire.
You know he’s sensitive about starting on time, but still you were running late again, even though this time you promised it would be different, and you would even be early.
And Eddie had foolishly believed you again. It hurt especially, because even though you were just friends, Eddie was so painfully in love with you. All day every day, he was pining, yearning, longing. You were on his mind all the time, and you... you couldn't even bother to be on time for Hellfire.
When he begged you to be on time earlier in the day, he had made sure to mention that it would mean a lot to him if you were on time. And he thinks that if you love him back, you'll definitely care when he communicates something like that.
He knows he shouldn't let himself feel like this, but every Friday he's reminded that he's not special to you. He's not the one person you're always on time for. Eddie thinks, somehow, that if you're on time for Hellfire, well then maybe you like him too. It's silly, but it's what he does. It gets more painful as time goes on and you're still not there.
The mood slowly shifts to something tense as time ticks on. You’re always a couple minutes late but nearly an hour? Eddie is painfully frustrated, and his feelings are hurt. Eddie has overthught himself to a dramatic conclusion that you've decided you're above Hellfire.
While the party chats on totally unaware, barely even recognizing that they still haven't started, Eddie thinks you've looked in the mirror and recognized that you're better than them. That you can, and should, have everything and everyone you want. He thinks you'll want to be with a jock. Or maybe a cheerleader. He thinks you've decided not to love him.
In a fit of self pity and rage, he decides to leave your character behind, so the party left you alone, sleeping in a cave.
"Attention," Eddie says, "the sun is rising. It's time to pack your bags and move on."
Dustin looks confused, "where's y/n?"
"Who knows?" Eddie tries to look unamused to hide his pain, but it slips, and ends up just looking angry.
Eddie rolls a perception check for you to see if you wake up. He rolls an 18. And with your build you would've noticed the group leaving without you. Eddie is still think about you in the arms of a jock. "She fails." Eddie looks at the group with an evil grin. "You leave the camp unnoticed."
As the game goes on, Eddie feels crappy. He's never cheated like that before. Like, sure, he's changed a roll or two to make the plot better, or to not totally kill one of his players because some random NPC got a nat 20. That was his right as DM. But... leaving you like that was less than cool.
But even worse, when they return to the cave later, you're stuck in a bandit situation. Eddie really, truly, genuinely expected the party to save you. Except, one thing led to another, and you were stabbed through stomach, making you bleed out. Normally, this is where you'd roll your life saving throws.
It wasn't really supposed to play out like that. But he didn't expect the party to roll such terrible throws, all of them accidently leaving you defenseless. Eddie kinda feels bad, but you hurt him first.
What he doesn't expect is Steve Harrington bursting into the drama room, looking frenzied, just a few moments later. The party halts. The last thing happening in the game was the party finishing off the last bandit, and running to your aid. But now, they were all just staring at Steve. Eddie approached his friend, worried about the look in Steve’s eyes.
Steve stood up straight, and cleared his throat. Weakly he says, “something terrible happened.”
And then Steve tells them all about your car accident, and Eddie feels sick. His knees buckle, and Steve has to hold him up. He’s totally disoriented by this news. He feels his heartbeat pounding behind his eyes, and his ears ring loudly, barely registering the panicked talking going on around him
“They're alive,” Steve was shouting, but because people weren’t letting him talk, he had to keep shouting it over the hundred questions. They wouldn't be able to handle it. Not again. Not when Max still hasn't woken up. “Eddie? Can you hear me buddy?”
But Eddie was in shock. He was blaming himself. He killed you.
“Can you walk? I'll drive you,” Steve says, as Gareth searches Eddie's pockets for the keys to the van. “Dustin, get over here, help me get Eddie to the car.” Eddie overhears Jeff tell everyone to meet at the van.
As soon as they get moving, the adrenaline starts pumping through Eddie’s body. He was suddenly able to break free of his friends' aid and pick up his pace, and the three of them ran through the school and into the parking lot. The dim light Steve parked by was flickering, putting a weak spotlight on Eddie as he tugged the door handle on the passenger seat
“Let me unlock it,” Steve snapped, fumbling the keys in his hand. He dropped them, the pressure of Eddie’s stare was kinda terrifying. He got the door open and unlocked the others.
When they were in the car, Eddie was finally alert, if anything overaware.
“What the fuck is going on?” he snapped.
No one said anything. There was nothing they could say that would make Eddie feel better, or calm down. Steve sped out of the parking lot, blowing the stop sign. He really shouldn't have, given the whole reason you were in the hospital.
Eddie squeezed his eyes shut. This wasn't happening. He was wrong. He was being petty and he was hurt because he thought you were being a dick but you were - he was gunna throw up - you were somewhere bleeding. While he was busy killing you, you were actually laying on the asphalt after a violent car crash. And he was thinking you're an asshole
“Their character died,” Eddie said, “I've killed them.”
“It's not gunna happen,” Steve said, gripping the steering wheel. It was a statement he couldn't back up.
At the hospital, Eddie barely waited for the car to stop before he was running inside, tripping over his own feet as he rushed to get to you. dustin was hot on his trail and steve was parking the car.
Eddie saw Nancy with Jonathan over by the nurse's station, and when Nancy saw him, she came hustling over, putting her hands on Eddie's arms. Dustin spoke quietly with Jonathan in the background.
“Relax,” she said, “please breath. They’re okay right now, they’re in surgery, and it's going really well, okay?”
“Wheeler?” Eddie asked, eyes filling with tears he had no control over.
“It has to be fine,” Nancy said, “sit with me.” Nancy Wheeler was not going to lose another friend today. Not again.
And with no other options he listened, following Nancy to an uncomfortable plastic chair that squeaked when he sat. Nancy held his hand over the stiff arm rests, but he didn't find any comfort. He didn't think he would until he was with you again.
Jonathan sat beside Nancy, giving her a sad smile and handing her a bitter coffee. He sat quietly, letting Nancy give Eddie her attention. Dustin sat on the other side of Eddie, also opting to stay quiet. What was anyone supposed to say?
Honestly, the only thing Eddie wanted to hear was your voice.
Tumblr media
Nothing changed for the first two days. But on the third day, the only change was in Eddie. He went from sitting quietly by your side to scribbling stuff in a notebook like a crazy person. He would also dip out to go use a library computer, or "check on some things," as he explained to Nancy.
Her and Steve were mutually concerned about Eddie's state. He was constantly babbling about saving you, and how he's figured it out they just have to succeed.
Everyone else got a chance to be worried when they got a call Tuesday saying there was a mandatory Hellfire meeting and anyone not in attendance would be left behind, and unwelcome for the rest of the campaign. He couldn't risk a single missing member. Not with the stakes...
Tuesday evening, Gareth, Jeff, and Keith are the first to arrive. They are curious as to what the hell their bandmate had cooked up, but they were more worried than excited. Eddie hadn't exactly been himself the last couple of days.
They don't expect a set up even more elaborate than usual. The lights are red and blue, making the room feel eerie, and small.
"Welcome to Hell," Eddie said, grinning and holding his arms open wide.
Gareth and Jeff exchanged a look, but were too nervous to speak. Eddie didn't want to explain the objective twice, so he waited for the rest of the party to arrive before he said anything, but the look in his eye feels sinister. His friends suddenly realized how truly fucked Eddie would be if anything happened to you.... like... for keeps.
When the rest of the party is there, they look to Eddie expectantly, but he just continues to smile like a maniac and tells everyone to take their seats. Dustin is confused to see Steve Harrington sneak into the room and lean against the wall.
"I cheated," he says when he has the attention of the flock, "y/n didn't fail the perception check, and therefore their death wasn't fair. However, death is death. So we're going to have to bring them back."
Dustin notices that Steve Harrington's presence is not explained.
Tumblr media
Nancy sits at your bedside like she has for the better part of the last four days. She holds a book in one hand, and the other rests casually beside you, near your hand. She looks at you, and then her hand. She gets a supernatural chill.
She puts her book down, and speaks your name quietly, looking for any sign of life from you. One more day of your glass features and she was going to crumble. Nancy shakes the bizarre feeling from her head, and pats your hand.
She shocked when you're ice cold to the touch. She recoils, pulling away fast. But after the initial shock fades, she touches you again. There was no way that was right, right? You were freezing. What the hell was that about? Nancy starts a search for a blanket to warm you up.
A mage freezes your body. The party scavenges for anything that can help and then leave the cave, your frozen body in tow. Another player can't make life saving throws for you, so they were thinking outside the box. They would take you deep, deep into an ancient necromancer's lair, and steal the resurrection stone from around his neck.
Nancy returns with a simply grey blanket, and a very friendly nurse. They had gotten to talking, and Nancy has simply explained how cold you had been, having not thought too much of it. The nurse, Sophie, had decided to come check it out too.
"Oh my gosh," Sophie says, feeling the ice cold skin. "Oh my gosh, she's like ice!"
And leaves Nancy feeling a little worried as she scurries out of the room. It was like she'd never seen anything like it. Nancy feels uneasy, and makes a quick phone call from your bedside phone. Jonathan picks up, and as soon as he hears the concern in her voice, he's on the way.
Nancy hangs up, picks the phone back up, and calls Steve. He picks up on the first ring.
"Something is like... actually happening over here," she whispers, shocked to even be saying it.
"No shot," he says, nearly laughing at the idea. He whispers the next part so the group doesn't hear anything, "I thought we agreed Eddie was just crazy, and this whole 'saving her character will save her' was just to show him that he didn't cause all this."
"I know we did," she said, "but y/n is cold as ice."
Eddie's voice booms as he narrates the perilous journey. After trap rooms, fighting devil dogs, two gargoyles, and a Molydeus that nearly killed Mike. They had made it into the inner sanctum, but had all failed to roll perception upon entering, and set off a fire trap. One that melted the spell on you, leaving you warm enough to die. "Hurry!" Dustin shouted, "engage the necromancer! Hit 'em with everything we got."
Nancy is already back into her book, Jonathan sitting on the floor beside her, leaning his head against the armrest, while she dangles a dainty arm over his shoulder, letting it lay relaxed on his chest. A single beep draws her attention. She notices something different, but she can't say what. Your cheeks are rosy.
Nancy brings her hand off of Jonathan, drawing his attention too. She puts a cool hand against your forehead, and is again shocked by how you feel. You're burning up. You're fucking hot. Like boiling. Nancy runs to find Sophie again.
The turn is Keith's, his mage more powerful than the others, but instead turns his attention to your character. "I cast flesh to stone on y/n!" the mage shouts. "She'll die if she stays like this." "Roll for it!" "18!" "Pass!" Your body is frozen again, this time encased in stone. Another stall, and Eddie knows the party is running out of time.
"You have to feel her head," Nancy says, speed walking with the bubbly nurse hot on her trail. Sophie complies, and gasps.
"It's not possible," she says quietly, "I'm getting the doctor. There's something strange about your friend."
Nancy looks down at you, and jumps out of her skin when the machines start beeping wildly. All of them making different noises, all of them loud. Sophie rushes back in, with more staff behind her. Nancy and Jonathan are ushered out of the room by a woman who explains that you're in a code blue, which means they have to resuscitate you.
Nancy looks around the white hallway. She's overwhelmed and underpaid.
"Stay here," she tells her boyfriend. "This is crazy!"
But she runs off before she explains anything else. She's after a phone, which she finds with no trouble. She fishes a quarter out of her pocket, and uses it to call Steve again. He picks up as fast as last time, desperate for something other than watching dnd.
"Whatever they're doing, tell them to hurry up!" she's shouting, drawing the attention of patients and staff around her. "Something's happening! She's not breathing!"
The necromancer stands injured. The party cornering him, making him cower. He trembles, and begs for his life. He explains that the party came to his home, killed his people, and now wish to rip off the very thing that keeps him alive. "I stab him through the heart, and I take the necklace." Dustin says. As he looks at Steve, he thinks he understands what's going on. "Roll." "For what?" "Dexterity." Dustin rolls his die. The table is silent. The little D20 lands. the group erupts when they see the Nat 20 he rolled, effectively grabbing the necklace and throwing it around your neck from a metre away like horseshoe. As it lands on you, the ground shifts under the party's feet. Everyone stares in silence, both in the campaign and real life. Your character opens her eyes, coughs, and rises.
The party roars to life at the table, cheering at a job well done and slamming hands on the table in excitement. But the cheers are short lived, silence coats the room but this one is different. It's serious, eery. They can see that Steve looks worried, and he's trying to get Nancy to answer him, but he's getting nothing. looking at Steve expectantly. Apparently, everyone had figured out what the plan was. They all knew they were trying to wake you up. Steve says nothing. Just hangs up the phone, looking up with a disappointed frown.
"The line went dead."
Steve is once again driving Eddie to the hospital. And he's a nervous wreck. You're like schrodinger's cat. Eddie doesn't know if you're alive or not. He chews on the side of his thumb during the entire ride. The rest of the club was waiting patiently in the drama room. Eddie and Steve promised to call as soon as they knew anything.
Tumblr media
Eddie can't fucking breath as he sprints down the hospital hallways, ignoring every sign and person telling him not to. He doesn't care. He has to get to you.
Wheeler is outside your room talking to a doctor, but with her back to him he couldn't see the bright, beautiful smile on her face talking excitedly about your miraculous recovery. Eddie runs right passed her to your room, and uses the doorframe to propel himself in, scaring both you and Jonathan who had been sitting quietly.
You look pale, and there are bags under your eyes. But you're sporting a weak smile, shaky hands holding a cup of lime jello. Eddie can't help but smile. You're awake, sitting up, and smiling at him. He has to laugh at the like, ten empty jello packages. Jonathan slips out the door without a word, and Eddie takes his seat by your bed.
"I was so fuckin' scared," Eddie says, tears falling from his eyes before he could even process it. He hadn't realized.
You hold your hand out for him and whisper, "Eddie," and he looks up, puppy dog eyes glossy with lingering tears, and heartbreaking to see. He takes your hand. "You didn't do this."
And he cries harder, leaning down and holding your hand to his forehead and begging your forgiveness anyway. "I did," he cries, "out of spite and jealousy, I tried to hurt you, and I did. I let them leave you alone. I made them and I cheated-"
"-Eddie-"
"-and you should've seen the party-"
"-Eddie, seriously-"
"-leaving because you totally passed the, ow, hey!"
You had flicked him on the nose, his babbling giving you no other choice, but as usual he was being dramatic, you hadn't actually hurt him at all.
"Eddie, stop, and listen to me," you say, "you didn't do this. You're not actually all powerful, you know that, right?"
"But-"
"But nothing," you say, smiling. "But Nancy told me that you saved me so no hard feelings."
Eddie smiles back at you, letting you wipe the tears leftover on his flushed cheeks. He leans into your touch and your heart swells. In your mind, you beg him to kiss you. You beg and plead and hope that this will be the time he makes a move.
He knows this is his chance, he leans closer to you, slowly, gauging your reaction. "Is this okay?" he whispers, when he's just an inch from your lips. You feel his breath as he speaks and you can't resist, pushing yourself forward to close the gap. And he kisses you like he's kissed you a hundred times before. Like he already knows everything you will like, even before you do. His lips are so fucking soft against yours, all plush and warm and taking over your senses.
"Well, I guess I can tell the others that you're fine," Steve says, and Eddie pulls away from you. His sudden absence is cold.
"I saved her," Eddie says, grinning. "Nancy said so."

I'm mashing together my review of totk and reactions to random encounters with the masterworks I've had lately into one stream of consciousness
Totk should have had true continuity, not a 6 year time skip that we never get to see, experience, and feel. It's not that hard to bridge 2 games with a 1-2 min cutscene, esp in a zelda game. Majora's mask starts with quick, but meaningful exposition that bridges OOT to MM! The intro to wind waker is a 6 minute long cutscene!! This series thrives with its detailed, intriguing intros, so what happened?? Before I even launched totk the night it came out, I booted up botw and replayed the final boss & ending because I was so stoked to see the transition in story/world and wanted to honor both games. Instead boom, we're walking in a cave w/ no context.
I was so disappointed that zelda wasn't a companion character to link in totk, it was disempowering to her character arc. Really thought this game would build off of botw's snippets of link & zelda working together in memories. The teasers and trailers for totk gave this perception that she would be there (which would also "break tradition" like devs wanted, ffs). When I was on the tutorial island I was fully convinced I'd be finding her and we'd reconvene like "ok what's next." When I realized 20 mins into the game that she was GONE gone, as in will not reappear likely until the end of the game damsel-in-distress-style, my verbatim thought "wait... really? Is this still going to be good?" Which was kinda sad, for a game I waited so many years for :/
I had major pet peeves with the copy/paste nature of the cutscenes with the old sages. The dialogue, bgs, pacing, literally all identical. They just hot swapped the character models for the sages and said that was good enough, wtf!!! I live for cutscenes in games, I have since I was like 5. This felt lazy, and seriously demotivated me from completing the dungeons bc I knew there was going to be nothing novel or intriguing to look forward to
The secret stones were gimmicky af. Sorry. Also stupid name, they couldn't even opt for "sacred?" Ik in other languages they have way cooler names, which would have helped. Link's fucking thanos glove of stones was a stupid gimmick, I cannot believe they didn't think to alter that concept to be more mythical, or creative, or just original. I would have killed for the stones to relate to the triforce in some way, or to do away with the stones and have this game connect to the triforce, since the whole direction of this story was going back to ancient myth & lore.
the Zonai lacked depth, and honestly just felt like a boring distraction even tho they were supposed to be a central focus of this game. I 1000% agree with other folks posts on the take that rauru was a flat, 2-dimensional colonizer. Sonia got sidelined. yikes. ew. no thanks.
^similarly, ganon really was given no character or depth imo. It's like they did a fantastic job making him visibly LOOK scary, so they didn't bother to give him motives beyond "I'm bad, I do what I want."
the cliche "back to normal" at the end irked me. Link could have come out with no arm, keeping the zonia arm, or at least scars w/ the zonai arm pattern and that would be meaningful. Zelda got factory reset from irreversible draconification in a method that for all intents and purposes, could have been done as soon as link got rewind ability. There was no investigation or inclusion of the other dragons, which seemed like a missed opportunity. Actively working on reversing her could have been a main quest in game!! Like 1. Complete all dungeons/get all stones, 2. you can now go round up the spirits of rauru & sonia and reverse zelda yippee, 3. you and zelda go beat the shit out of ganon together. The dragons fighting was beautiful, powerful imagery, but honestly I think too much potential was traded away just to execute that one fraction of the boss fight.
The masterworks book annoys me, which is sad bc I love concept art. I wanted to be a concept artist growing up, I can accept that you'll often see things that never make it into the final cut. I was enamored with early posts abt things like zelda's haircut, char designs, etc.
But more recently I'm seeing the anthology side of the book taking major liberties that it didn't even bother showing us directly or alluding to in the game, and I think that's such a cop-out. They are literally telling us instead of SHOWING us in the game they release a year ago, and spent SIX YEARS making. There was a festival celebrating the return of zelda/defeat of ganon?? Freaking show us that!!! Show us link & zelda acclimate to post-calamity life. Show us imperfect, non-linear healing and resilience. I would have loved a festival scene w/ link and zelda that conveys the nuance of celebration and recognition of their efforts, and the contrasting weight of what they went through. Show me zelda, exhausted after a festival struggling with guilt and indecision about whether to bring back the monarchy with hyrule's restoration. Throwing in a "oh btw imagine if we actually had done this" post-game makes me so irritated and feral. It's like the post-release canon is sidling up to fanon and saying, "hey look we can do that too! look at our fan art" idk if that makes sense, I don't think I'm explaining it well. But it just feels disingenuous.
I'm not a timeline purest, I don't need everything to interconnect, but I don't love how assertions in this book invalidate connections and lore of other games. Also really don't love how this game overwrites and sidelines the sheikah.
I know majority of my disappointment stems from my own, personal expectations of a game that, let's face it, was probably given many mandates and initiatives to appeal to *everyone* in broad, lackluster ways. I still love the world and characters of zelda, if anything, totk reaffirmed what I love and want to prioritize in my art that I didn't see present in this game. Fun fact I used the world of botw to learn a lot about drawing landscapes & composition. It actually inspires me a bit to try to learn to do comics, which has been a longtime goal I've been too busy and/or timid to pursue lol.
mmm anyway if u read this and any of this resonated DM me and lets froth at the mouth and commiserate lol

Word count: 1.2k
Authors note: I plan on basically writing 1 on 1 or maybe a threesome instead of all 8 bc I'm not so confident in writing that yet, so I'll probably do minho next!!!

You shouldve listened to them, you know what they would tell you. Variations of "you need to be more careful" or "I told so" but are you to blame? Maybe.
It started when you woke up, some of you guys had a day off and luckily you were apart of it. You woke up way earlier than you wanted to, perks of waking up at 4 am every morning. Curse JYP you thought. You knew someone had to be awake at this time, and it was chan. He barely sleeps and he had to head to the company early today.
You walk out of your room and into his. It's still dark outside, apart from the moon shining brightly through the window.
"Channie?" you whispered, if he actually managed to sleep you didn't want to disturb him.
And you were right, he was asleep. His laptop was on his lap with his headphones slipping from his head to his neck.
You already came so far why not lie down with him for a little bit?
Crawling into his bed, you wrap your arms around his waist, cuddling with him until he wakes up.
As time passed you got a little restless. You changed your position, throwing a leg over his lap.
You felt two hands grip your waist, sneaking under your shirt.
"Well, good morning baby" his voice sounded, different. It affected you more than you wanted it to.
You leaned in to kiss him, putting your hands flat against his chest. Though, he pulled away abruptly.
"Channie." You frowned, clenching your hands on his chest.
"I know what you want, and it's not gonna happen. We both know what's gonna happen. Right?" you knew what he was implying, but you didn't care you wanted him.
"But-"
He pressed a finger against your mouth with a smile before lifting you off telling you he's going to freshen up.
As he left the room, you checked his phone.
5:20 am.
He had to leave in a couple minutes. Along with changbin and jisung. You didn't know if you should be upset or thankful honestly. For his caring personality or upset that he's too caring.
As time passed, he came back into the room to let you know he was leaving. You took this as your chance to bother the other boys.
You opted to going into the bathroom before hand, you opened it without knocking, something you do many times.
To your surprise, you saw minho simply brushing his teeth. Kinda sad you didn't get to see him in the shower.
"__, you really need to learn how to knock."
"Isnt anything I haven't seen before, I also need to brush my teeth. Are you done?" You question, leaning over to grab your toothbrush.
"Y-yea, you can just go ahead? I mean I'm still doing my hair and whatnot" he sounded breathless, avoiding your gaze.
You shrug it off, going in-between him and the counter.
You stare into the mirror, locking eyes with minho.
It wasn't hard for you to toy with minho, easily getting flustered buy anyones antics. It was almost cute, allowing you to mess with him in bed.
You rinse out your mouth, wiping your hands off on a towel.
You turned on your heels and left him in thee bathroom. You barely did anything to him and he popped a boner.
The next person you saw was changbin, eating something around the table.
You smile to yourself when you see hyunjin there as well.
"Good morning" you walked in, slowing your pace.
You start up a conversation, like usual. You sat on changbins lap causing him to groan. Complaining how there are empty seats everywhere else.
You continued the conversation like normal except you had your foot rubbing against hyunjins crotch, going at a tantalizing pace.
Your antics were cut short when chan called them, telling the car was here. Some of them were still here, either on the couch or in their rooms.
Later in the day han, felix, seungmin, and jeongin were all sitting on the couch watching some movie.
You were snuggled up into jeongin, falling in and out of sleep.
In all honesty, you were bored. The rest of the boys realized your actions and shut it down immediately.
You were a little upset, just wanting to play a little.
You must've fell asleep, you were woken up to jeongin carrying you to his bed, away from chatter and miscellaneous noises.
"You know we know what you're doing right?" He taunts, rubbing his hands up and down your back.
You whined at him, pinching his hands.
"You know baby, we are just looking out for you."
"But-" you try to reason with him but daily serverly.
He laughs, giving you a pat on the head telling you to go to sleep.
That must've been hours ago, it's pitch black outside. You turn over to see jeongin sleeping peacefully. Chest slowly rising.
All of a sudden you started to feel hot. It couldn't be the air, it was almost December.
You didn't want to wake jeongin, so you slowly left the room.
You saw the boys who left earlier in the day sitting on the couch.
Your attempt at being quiet failed, as chan turned his head towards the scent.
You knew all eight boys were talking amongst themselves about your little games and how they tried to warn you about your heat coming early.
Chan got up making his way over to you.
"Channie.. it hurts" you felt something gush down your legs making you wince.
"You should've listened to Daddy hm?" He takes his hands, rubbing the palms of your hands.
"Hey, how about you go upstairs into my room and wait? I'll treat you good, promise"
You obliged, walking up the stairs.
Chan let the rest of the boys know what was going on.
He kept his end of the deal, following her into his room.
Opening the door he saw you riding his pillow, tears coming out of your eyes.
"Just couldn't help yourself hm?" He shut the door behind him, making it onto the bed.
'D-daddy! It hurts"
"Does it now?" He flips you on your back, pulling down his pants quickly.
"Baby wants my cock? She could've asked nicely for it instead of being a whore couldn't she?" He rubs you through your shorts, pulling it down just over your ass.
"Shit, youre so wet. I bet I could fuck you right now."
"Please chan- put it in please-" you don't see his facial expressions but you can hear him. His low laugh, sometimes getting interrupted by a groan.
He grabs his cock, pushing it in until he bottoms out.
"Feel good? Feeling full aren't you" he practically suffocates you— pressing your face into the bed.
He grips your waist, hips jutting up into yours?
"Such a tight cunt, haven't we fucked it enough" the house was silent, apart from the low sound of tv you think you might've woken everyone up.
He moves on hand from your hips to your clit, rubbing it to the pace of his thrusts.
You try to warn him, but it was all muffled. Your pussy clenched on his cock. Restricting his movement.
"Gonna- fuck, cum on my cock."
You felt yourself let go, soaking his cock.
"The others might want a turn now you know."

hi, i know you headcanon some pathologic characters to be homosexual, like Daniil, Artemy, Yulia, Stakh... what do you think their relationship with their sexuality were throughout their lives? also, i remember in one of your older answers you mentioned Daniil coming out to his mother... how exactly did that happen in your vision?
hello darling this reply has made tumblr give me that "there was an error processing your post" over 15 times now for no good reason. it's like it was too big at first but this is the same length and if you read this it means it sent. anyways.
i had posted something kiiinda similar here (below the cut) including bi characters (eva + the twins) but i had forgor to include stakh + by god i can repeat myself/elaborate (i love. repeating myself <3 for real honestly especially on this) so ooh baby here we
Dankovsky (longest because i'm writing about him so the thoughts are many) knew at a young age (like 11-12) he didn't like girls and instead did boys so he had to come to terms with it in some way Pretty Quickly. to me he was raised christian eastern orthodox, which like all christian denominations comes with its fair share of religious-specific homophobia, he wasn't particularly like. Thrilled per se. + the familial/ancestral culture comes with its own set of expectations around masculinity which homosexuality inherently challenges and the fact that he was already more into cello than like war as a kid made his father raise an eyebrow on him right. so from ages like 11-16, dankovsky was like Well i'm going to have to pretend i don't see it and hope the sky doesn't fall on my head. at around 17 it became evident that was IT really that truly what he was and there was nothing he could possibly do to not make it be this way. it came with a sort of like. acceptance that it just was going to be how it was, but he was already starting to think how he could push the Acting on It part long enough for him to maybe become busy with something else. i think as he grew up he shed the concept of "sin" as he actualized himself atheist so no "hate the sin love the sinner" for him, but you can't really pull the religious guilt out of a man raised religious ykwim. eventually as he accepted that He Was, and that by god it wasn't even a bad thing to be/started Embracing it as one more of his Transgressions (when it. not really is, a transgression comes with a degree of consciousness and will to violate a law or code, the fact that he's gay is just. how it is. that's him forever and that'd be him regardless of context etc), he started assimilating gay codes for himself (the red tie…) to be like. Yes. ykwim. he still had not met a gay person in his life so it truly felt like Him Against the World, but he started being more comfortable with the fact that he was gay. however, it still didn't stop him from started a whole… "i'm not in a relationship rn bc i'm focusing on my studies" mindset. at uni, he truly like. came into his own internally while still trying to maintain a certain ambiguousness outwardly. andrei saw right through that and, even if he's like not gay but bi, he was the first dude daniil met who was also (Loudly) into dudes. dankovsky owes andrei the first like. actual coming out to Someone else than his mommy when andrei would bait him into hanging out with other gay and bi men, dankovsky would sit in a corner not fuckin wit anyone just Soaking In The Homosexuality In The Air, and when andrei went "u got a problem with that? you homophobic?🤨" dankovsky had to go like "i don't have a problem with it at all… when it's other people" [implied: i might deal with it not too well when it's me myself]. and from that point on he was like ah fuck me [not literally] why do i bother being insecure about it. from ages 20+ he was still very much in his Married To My Work Era + as he founded Thanatica he tried to lay low to not get investigated and being very loudly homosexual was not the best way to "not make waves" so even as he settled in himself with the fact that Well he's gay and he's gonna be gay forever so he better live with it, he still stayed closeted for his safety. i think from ages 18 to current game-day 28, not getting laid pardon the frankness led to him developing like an internally Fucking Crazy relationship with love and eroticism and he might have kept himself from entering relationships because he needed someone who Understood He'd Want To Eat Him. (love wins!)
re:coming out to his momma i think she had had her Doubts for a while yknow has had her Doubts. his dad too, but from his dad's perspective it felt deeply Painful (bc when the son is gay it is the father's masculinity that is threatened.. i've spoken about it on the post i've linked in the beginning) whereas his mom didn't have that My Masculinity Threatened. dankovsky knew he was gay since age like 11-12 but only came out at around 14-15, when it became obvious for him and hard to ignore, especially as people begin to have little boyfriends and girlfriends at this age. he told his mom first because he was closest to her and she was like.
Tumblr media
she believed him from the beginning because she had had her Doubts. for a while she didn't quite know what to do with this information as it all dawned on her that it likely meant no grandkids, no daughter-in-law to whom she could give her pretty jewelry and so on… but also i think she like. could relate her son's homosexuality to like. fucking Tchaikovsky. who attempted suicide because his marriage to a woman made him so miserable. so she was like… well. that's just how it is isn't it. she's just gonna have to make peace with it whether she likes it or not. i think eventually she came to the conclusion that she spent 9 months building him from her blood and bones and a full day putting him out in the world so it would be stupid to be mad at him for that. + that's god's doing isn't it. she can't be mad at god. and if god's mad at her son he can take it to himself. etc .
Burakh for the longest time um. Didn't know. i think he realized that about himself genuinely age 26 in the 12 days. he's going through an entire coming-of-age/coming-into-place story and i think that includes a realization story lol. i think for the longest time he just thought he didn't love anyone period. up until 20 methinks he was like "well i'm just a late bloomer". then he went to war as a medic and was like "well i'm just so fucked up in the head my mind's full of corpses that's why there's no place for love". then he went home and… lord almighty. for years he thought was just not made for love because he truly. hadn't looked the other way (he's just like me fr fr). he went from not knowing what a closet was to realizing he was in it and the door was ajar to being out and in a man's arm in the span of 12 days. he didn't really have the time to brood about what it meant for his future/himself/his relationship to his people for him to be homosexual because love slapped him across the face and he fell on his ass. as his whole story is about finding his own path and learning to cope with doing things that might not be approved of him and living with choices that are of love regardless it's truly just like. learn to cope FAST. you have way more problems. + as i think the herb brides Know i think he's not given too much grief by his community and doesn't have the religious trauma background of dankovsky. also since his parents are. well dead. he doesn't have to respond to them + his dad textually is like You're gonna have to do something boy. (and that something might displease him but that's out of his hands. and into burakh's).
.
Yulia knew early too like 12-13. she always was a tomboy as a kid and almost just like… naturally blossomed into a masc lesbian. i think from early on she was like. ok well we're coping with that. she already was going against social conventions by being an educated woman a woman in ""typically"" male professions a masculine-dressed woman so at this point the fact that she liked women that was like. well if you don't like it tough luck buddy. she always had a relatively distant (if loving) relationship with her parents so she didn't feel the need to justify herself to them + won't lie they saw it coming. they had it comin… she was not in any relationships for a while because she's kinda like Dry of a person/passionate about things most people just don't see/don't fuck with so while she is charismatic and handsome and knew she could be desired she didn't have any long-term relationship before eva because you truly need a girl who's a lil bit crazy to handle her. and vice versa. so love wins. i think that while she might not have frequented lesbian spaces like bars because her ass does not do well with crowds i think she never felt like she was So Alone like Only Lesbian on Earth. i think she did feel a sense of loneliness about it but it was also mixed with a deep sense of Well I'm Here and I'm One So Someone Like Me Exists.
.
Stakh for a little while was also that "well i'm kinda too fucked up for love" and he was also fighting for his life to be seen as a good student a good protégé a good foster son so romantic love was Far from his mind. i think he realized he was gay around age like 15-16 when it all starts to Dawn on you y'know everything Dawns on you. he was very quickly like. well that's how the cookie crumbles. i think there was a sort of immediate acceptance about the Being Gay factor but more of a restraint about acting on it because he too was like Married to The Student Behavior and didn't want to risk losing his place by isidor's side, especially since he didn't know how isidor would react to him being gay (i know what isidor did to that old man so i know he wouldn't have cared but rubin is not a mind-reader). it was truly like. well i am and i can't do much about it but i'm soo focused rn. as 18-20 came around the corner and his relationship with isidor truly felt like he was fighting for his life trying to be seen as a good student he was like I'm either going to war or becoming a monk. he was fully willing to commit to lifelong monkish celibacy because he's always been. kinda dry. kinda with issues. + i think subconsciously he was trying to not let Desire creep up on him because it would distract him from the menkhu way (nice dichotomy idiot what lies outside of it etc). he went to war [p1 lore which i abide by] and. well when you put a bunch of fit young men together away from the women of course something like this would happen. anyways he comes home having acted on his homosexuality which he is fine with + feels kinda like a weight being lifted off his shoulders but he stil hasn't tasted Desire ykwim. Want. Hunger in the lover sense. but he's like. shrugs. whatever. monk it is. he doesn't become a monk. he clings to being isidor's foster son until his knuckles go white. it ends up being for nothing. grief and anger scythe him right. and in what follows he bonds with someone who's Fucked up and who Knows Hunger and Desire and omg flushed emoji etc. (+ my belief when dankovsky comes to peter's loft to talk about god-knows-what they kinda realize pretty fast He's Just Like Me Fr and dankovsky appreciates his + peter's company kinda like he appreciated Just Sitting There surrounded by gay and bi men even if they barely talk. just knowing you're like. Not Alone. etc)
.
bit long. sorrey.

I always wondered what age all the rangers, especially the grey company ones would be, and also more in general how dúnedain aging even works, and how the maturity compares to "normal humans"/middle men
I mean we do know that all the grey company rangers are dúnedain, even if they aren't of royal blood/direct descent of isildur, and therefore still have a longer life expectancy than normal humans. I don't know/am not sure, if we actually have information on that, but I would say, that means that the usual one is about 140-150 years, maybe?
Now the question is, where do the gc rangers fit in, and how old are they compared to aragorn?
In my mind, idk if I read that somewhere, i believe that Dúnedain mature at 25, and that's probably when they get sworn to aragorn, so Helchon is somewhere around 25 or 26 years.
Thanks to an ao3 fic I read some time ago, I hc Candaith to be rather young for a ranger, somewhere in his early thirties, also because (courtesy of that fic aswell) the lone ranger thing wasn't actually planned, but the other rangers just- died (blame garth agarwen. that always works) another contributing factor to young(ish)!candaith might be bc of the oc that i ship him with- but that's beside the point
Calenglad, as we know, is older than Aragorn, by at least about 20 years, and with him, in my mind-, looking like he's in his forties somewhere (leaning towards late forties), something inbetween 107-120 seems fitting
Golodir, I'd believe, is somewhere similar to Calenglad, possibly a bit older, but due to all the Angmar shit- being mordirith's favourite punching bag for a few years straight does that to you- has aged faster, which puts him somewhere in the range of 120/120+ give or take
Corunir and Lorniel were besties and a similar age, change my mind. With that, and my headcanon for Angmar being give or take 10 years long, they were definitely older than 25 to actually go on that journey, and at the very least two-to-three years older, for the experience, which would put them somewhere in their early 40s/40s. That would mean that Golodir had Lorniel at about 80- which is fine, ig? Aragorn had Eldarion at 91, tho he also lived to 210, so I dunno if he is a valid comparison.
Anyway, this were the first rangers that came to mind- [actually, now that I think about it loth and rads too- and amdir, dagoras, daervunn, saeradan, halbarad- but i can't be bothered to write smth about them]
here you go *cutely hands you my first post*

I hate when shows try to market to gen z, especially when it's with woke stuff or internet jokes. Because for one thing it dates it immidirntly, the jokes aren't going to be funny. And for another they always throw away the shows charming aspects to do it.
Clone high is a good example. I get that it's a pilot and it's a pitch and not a final product, but it doesn't have the charm of the original show at all. The 90s aspect was a huge draw and modernizing it felt forced. They leaned far too hard on the "they're cool bc they're uncool," trope. It's been done to death and isn't accurate either. Yes there's more room for non conventional people to be popular but there's reason for it. The new characters are just super annoying. And that joke lasting fir longer than 20 minutes is drop worthy.
The character bashing isn't done well. The focus on Abe was important to the original show and watching him fumble around isn't fun. He needs to have some redeeming qualities or he's just grating.
Jfk wouldn't have bothered me if the other characters didn't suck.
Joan getting along with people who share her interest is great. But those characters aren't funny or interesting. Her character is really bland without antics to straight man for.
It looked like they tried to make up for the lack of chaos with more gracious injury. It doesn't work.
Cleopatra is supposed to be conniving. Her being put in place by people she never would have reflected could be funny. But instead she spends the whole episode scoffing and being an idiot. She should of bounced back quicker. She should of been allowed to keep her bitchy character.
This wasn't supposed to be a clone high rant but that's what's happening now.
The lack of Gandhi throws off the cadence (? Not the pacing but the delivery beats of the story) completely. The original plan before the og show was cancelled was to make him the clone of a comedian. I wish they'd done that, maybe setting it up immediately by someone calling out their names as they're dethawed. But I get that there were issues fir the company. They should have dealt with his absence better though. The jokes drag where he could have been.
I wish writers wouldn't try to write this made up version of modern teenagers. It does not make for good tv. I have heard that the story was mostly network dictated and the writers didn't have much control, though I don't know how true that is. I'm impulse writing this I only watched the pilot once when it originally leaked.
I was originally excited about clone high season two, but it looks like it's just going to be like every other adult animated show. Which makes me sad.
Edit: sudworth is still the best part. The shadowy figure replacement sucked tho.
Edit 2: i love joanfk and hope they keep them together. Also, if we get a clone of Nikola tesla beating the shit out of some capitalists I will forgive all of the shows faults. All of them.

Years ago, the kbs website used to have character profiles for the bof kdrama characters (the links don't work anymore, but you can still read them through wayback machine). These profiles mostly had stuff we already know about them, maybe with some extra details from the manga that didn't get mentioned in the drama but are easy to guess.
But Woobin's profile is the surprising thing here. It's very detailed considering he has barely any lines in the episodes. And it gives us a lot of insight about his characterization (or what it could have been if he had more screen time):
I'm gonna start by saying that I used google translator bc my korean skills are far from fluent. lol So blame any mistakes on google.
So let's go to the text. Parts of the profile are in italics and the my comments are normal text.
The first part of his description are just stuff that are mentioned or implied in the k-drama (In one line! But it is!):
"He is the hidden leader of F4 and the successor to Ilsim Construction, an emerging blue-chip company in the real estate industry. It is a long-established boss family that has led the traditional violent organization Ilsimpa for generations. In Woo Bin's father's generation, elite management was advocated. By legally diversifying its business, it proudly joined the ranks of emerging conglomerates. However, excellent personal network management that can be mobilized in case of emergency."
Hidden leader doesn't mean leader. The leader is still Junpyo, it's just that Woobin is the only sane man in the group lol.
But at least this part gives us a name for his mafia. I like how his family didn't bother to give the company a different name from it
"Its ability and ability to quickly and powerfully mobilize cash are its secret weapons that even Shinhwa Group cannot ignore."
This is interesting because it implies Junpyo's family keeps Woobin close because of this, which answers the question of why Junpyo's mother lets him be friends with the heir of a criminal organization. And I have no doubt she is interested in the criminal connections too. Let's be honest, that woman is probably involved in a lot of corruption.
"He lives with his mother, who gave birth to him when she was 20, and his twin sisters who were born late."
Whoa, that's a lot of information here. So his little sisters from the manga are canon in this adaptation.
Tumblr media
which gives a new meaning to Junpyo's line in episode 16:
Tumblr media
He wasn't talking about Woobin's girlfriends, he was talking about Woobin's sisters and maybe mother too.
"This may be the reason why he only meets older people and feels attracted only to older people. Rather than taking care of something, he often find comfort in the love he receives and can rely on. Sometimes, he seduces married women who have husbands without hesitation, but while they are dating, he is a pure romantic who only devotes his sincerity to the other person, showing off his undiminished popularity."
This is manga stuff too and none of this was mentioned in the kdrama. I imagine they thought it would be too controversial to include him having affairs with married women which is fair enough, but I wish they had done something to at least imply it.
"He has a soft charisma that leads his opponents regardless of his young age. His sense of humor has become more savory thanks to the bad hip hop English he learned while studying abroad for a short time as a getaway."
HE STUDIED ABROAD????????? WHY WASN'T THIS MENTIONED IN ANY EPISODE??????? THIS MAKES HIS ENGLISH ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE
And "as a getaway" implies he did that to escape from his life. It goes hand in hand with his manga characterization of the stressed friend.
"He has an innate sense of economics and a spicy fist, which is revealed in various odds and figures in gambling, investment, and securities."
i dunno what a spicy fist is but most of this is just obvious stuff. It's funny to imagine him gambling, though.
"He hates his father who passed on the complex and responsibility of his origins. In the end, they are the most similar."
This is the only thing shown in the kdrama. It's during that scene when he and Yijung are talking in ep 18, when Woobin was threatening to jump off the bridge.
But that's also one of the most interesting thing about this profile.
The mafia thing is not in the manga. There is not a single scene where this is implied and we don't even know what Akira's family does besides "they own a company". I think the first version to include the mafia thing was the Jdrama? Correct me if I'm wrong.
So it's interesting to see that the kdrama actually had plans to do something with it besides "he is a mafia heir look how dangerous and cool he is". And they mixed this with Akira's low self steem from the manga to make him hate himself for his mafia heritage!!! And if we take his F4 after story MV into account, he also seems to have the same not-mafia-related low self esteem from his manga counterpart. This makes it a very interesting characterization.
And then they used it in only one scene.

(sorry Akira)

So I quit that job I mentioned earlier lol, I hadn't done work for this particular company since the pandemic and it became very clear, very quickly that what was already tenuous, chaotic circumstances before all that has only rapidly deteriorated further since. There was no discernable like, assigned Project Manager for this nonsense, just like four separate people making decisions behind each other's backs, over each other's heads, so the situations with everything were constantly changing and in this chaos no one bothered to communicate any of these changes with me (probably because they weren't communicating with each other) while just sort of expecting me to keep up and hit the notes that no one wanted to make clear in the first place. Like, "well why isn't this done?" "uh because idiot #3 said this script wasn't finalized, I mean not to me personally but openly in the chat to everyone" "WE CAN STILL USE THIS SCRIPT" "UHM NO WE CAN'T NOT UNTIL ITS FINALIZED SO WHEN IS THAT GOING TO HAPPEN" "IDK ASK IDIOT #2 WHO NEVER ANSWERS THEIR DMS ANYWAY" like what the actual fuck?? I was already getting so stressed out by this lack of any sense of cohesion whatsoever, but my breaking point was on Sunday when I had made it clear I wasn't going to be available and everyone was like yea yea cool that's fine (like, literally I live on land I'm responsible for upkeeping in the middle of the mountains now, if I step out of my house and into the depths of the property I am OUT OF SERVICE and I made it clear this was going to be the case MULTIPLE TIMES) and one of the bitches that's been going behind everyone's back and over their heads etc and is also some boomer lady with too much time on her hands CALLS ME FOUR TIMES BEFORE 7 AM ON SUNDAY TO ASK WHERE I AM AND WHAT I'M DOING like mam? You're not even my boss (hasn't stopped her from trying to treat me like her 20-something unpaid intern assistant though) and I made it clear multiple times that I'm not going to be available today "Well you're gonna have to be because we're very behind" AND THAT'S -MY- FAULT? THE ONE PERSON WHO HAS BEEN DOING THEIR ACTUAL JOB? I was just like yeah you know what actually I'm done with this as of today, pay me what I'm owed and don't contact me again
the worst part is that when I agreed to come on to help with this it was never communicated to me that I was going to be expected to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (bc literally this boomer lady with no boundaries would be texting me at 10 pm on Friday for no reason bc she has nothing better to do with her life) to a group of people that don't know their mouths from their assholes and are just using this a pissing contest with each other while treating me like absolute shit and getting absolutely nothing done. It has NEVER been this bad. I also wasn't told that I'd be treated like an intern despite very much not being hired as one and well past the time in this career path where that'd be an appropriate role for me. Like, I wasn't made aware of any of this bullshit before agreeing to HELP OUT.
That's the other shitty thing, is that this was to HELP OUT a professional friend that I've done many fun and successful productions with- and where is he through all of this? Mostly not there. Mostly just not available. Not communicating with me or anyone else. I'm not speaking to him now because I really feel like he threw me to the wolves with this one despite the many MANY times in our working relationship that I had gone out on limb for him and the times he had done the same for me! Thought we were cooler than this! GUESS NOT.
I'm somewhat disappointed with myself for accepting this in the first place knowing what I do of that company's bullshit (tho in my defense as I said, it had never been quite THIS bad) but mostly I'm disappointed with myself for once again thinking I could trust someone lol like DO I NOT KNOW BETTER? AFTER ALL THIS TIME OF PEOPLE FUCKING ME OVER, TREATING ME LIKE A NON-PRIORITY? AFTER SWEARING TO NOT DO THAT TO MYSELF ANYMORE? Unbelievable that I could be so naive!
But I think anger is due at these careless type of people too, idc how useless it is, how little it's going to change anything about them. Like where does one get the gall to treat someone they barely know, who does not report to them in a subservient capacity, as though they're Miranda Priestly and I'm their little underpaid assistant? Where does one get the gumption to think it's okay to violate work hour boundaries that were made explicitly clear before being hired? In all my days working in this industry (and maybe I got lucky a million times) I have never been treated with such disrespect for my own time, especially in a situation where NO ONE has the right to be ordering anyone else around.
I don't deserve that, and honestly neither would an inexperienced 20-year old (which I am very much not). Incredible. Unbelievable that in this day and age where people are not putting up with work place bullshit that there could still be some asshole doing it anyway, violating boundary after boundary without a care in the fucking world.
Yeah well suck on this, lady, now you have to do all the work yourself because I don't need this job in the first place as I have several others that actually pay well and don't treat me like crap. Eat shit uwu

Pep!! Here (again) to tell you how incredible chap 20 was!! :') My absolute favourite part was Aemond's initial response to Shaera's collapse. Not flying into a rage or going numb or being sad but wondering how she'd act in the situation as if she wasn't the one who was injured. Trying to play make-believe as if she was gonna walk right in as a spectator. The part where he wanted to clean the blood hit me so hard I literally cried bc that resonated so much with my own experience of grieving. I think a lot of stories tend to gloss over/neglect the fact that denial is one of the first and most instinctive ways humans respond and process traumatic/sorrowful events. When I first knew that someone close to me was terminally ill, I didn't react by crying or being upset. My initial thought was about when I'd get a chance to cook with them again- which is ludicrous bc I knew deep down that would never happen anymore- but that was how I found myself dealing with the heaviness of everything. The way you wrote that part in the story truly makes me think that you know what it means to live as the characters you write- that they're real, complex individuals that live and experience things the way we do too. Love you for that!! On a separate note, Baela and Qoren really stuck out to me so much this chapter!! Baela- I LOVE HER. The way she's both the family's voice of reason and so loving of her family is amazing. Baela really shone in this chapter- what with cleaning Shaera's blood and supporting Rhaenyra and comforting Joff, this queen had A LOT on her plate. Second mother of the blacks honestly. I especially appreciate how grounded Baela is in the reality of everything that's happening, while Shaemond are fools in love and all. But obviously the backdrop of their relationship is immensely tense and political, and I think Baela provides that timely reminder. Also Qoren omfg, I've always been neutral towards him but I loved him in this chapter??!!?? The way he managed the whole poisoning fiasco and the realisation of what it was that Shaera drank AND how he still cares so deeply about her in spite of what he knows. Honestly if Shaera's not gonna husband him up, I AM. Qoren x ayalou truther now!!! Also I think the manner in which you've laid out the relationships between the blacks and the greens in this fic is so intricate. And it really came to the forefront this chapter. A regret I've always had after reading f&b is that there wasn't much room given to exploring the complexity of the relationships between both parties. It was pretty clear they hated each other, yes, but there wasn't the same kind of tension and layeredness to it as GLBH imo. Anyway I can't believe I've written a whole essay in your asks AGAIN (when I struggle with writing 1-paragraph long discussion posts for school lol)- sorry if I was rambling!! TLDR: I love you + your work so much and cried multiple times reading this chapter. Sending you warm hugs!! <3
AHHH HI AYA! THANK U FOR THIS DEVASTATINGLY KIND ASK!! I’ve been wanting to post a little something but I like to give people like 5 ish days before I post anything about the chapter, so I hope that’s okay!!
THE DENIAL!! While Aemond is certainly the most rash out of all of them (in my opinion cause of his actions in f&b and even a little in hotd), I think there’s a certain hesitance. And denial! Because why would anyone think that Shaera of all people has been poisoned? Shaera mf Velaryon?? The girl who literally could not even hurt a fly?? There’s also a realization that the girl he very much is infatuated with is doing something she should not be (bleeding) and that’s fucking horrifying. He knows blood bothers her and he knows that he would do anything to keep her from bleeding if it meant she was comfortable, but he can’t do that, and I think that makes him go error 404 for a moment, and even then that denial carries over to when he finds out about the betrothals. Now he’s agitated and clearly ready to snap (and he does a little), but when he hears about the marriages, he has to shut down again before he does something bad and there’s something dangerous about him rn. He’s not acting poised—save for when he goes to Shaera’s bedside, but even then, he’s brought to tears even if he doesn’t realize it—and that’s not the Aemond that Alicent (and Criston) raised, and only his siblings are realizing that.
I’m so glad you loved Baela and Qoren this chapter!! They’re some of my favorite characters to write! Baela truly is the voice of reason and she cares so much about keeping everyone safe and happy, even if that means risking the short-term happiness here and there. She truly thinks like the future Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and she’s certainly the best of Daemon and Laena, and that’s why I love her so fucking much (even if people are upset she’s not team shaemond LMAO—Guys it’s for a good reason!!). And Qoren!! My dilf. My king. My baby girl. Qoren certainly has his jealous moments prior to this chapter but there’s a certain smugness about him. A security. He knows that he has Shaera’s hand secured and at this moment in time, he could care less who she’s fucking (though he certainly has his suspicions and it’s not a happy thought) because that’s not what matters. This isn’t the right time for him to get jealous (or at all) and he understands that because he’s older, more mature, and has many more life experiences than some people sksksksk. His goal isn’t even to save Shaera cause he wants to marry her but because she deserves to be saved. She deserves to live, and Qoren will not see another woman die unnecessarily if he can help it (and he can certainly help it this time, whereas with his wife, he couldn’t.)
I’m so glad the relationships are landing. That means so much to mean cause I spend so much time on making sure I build them as organically as possible. They take a lot of time, but I always feel so pleased with how they turn out with each chapter and I’m so happy that people love them all just as much as I do.
Thank u so very much for this lovely comment aya. I loved it and I hope this response ,does it justice <3

Klavier receives a Facebook notification. A friend request?
yeah idk. They play chess on Facebook bc it came to me in the middle of the night. They absolutely continue post story.
After staring at his paperwork for a good 20 minutes, Klavier finally has a reason to be distracted when his phone chimes. A facebook notification? Honestly he hadn't posted on Facebook for a long time, but it was the only social media Blackquill and Edgeworth had, plus he found some friends from Germany and one of his ex band members posted the most adorable pictures of his kid, so he'd decided to keep it.
Oh. A friend request. From Phoenix Wright. Well that was a good thing, right? Ok. Sure. Request accepted.
Another notification. A message.
PW: You play chess? KG: A bit.
A bubble popped up that said "Play chess with me!" and presumably if he clicked it, he would then be playing chess with Phoenix Wright… Ok. Yeah, ok. He'd played a game or two with Edgeworth. Before that… it had been a while.
Of course he was at work. Herr Chief might not be excited about his employees playing Facebook chess at work. Then again Herr Wright was also at work and held great sway over the Chief Prosecutor.
Starting the game, then. Herr Wright had already made the first move, so he took his. The next move was made quickly. The game was quick with Klavier losing spectacularly. He wasn't particularly disturbed by this, chess wasn't really his game. Still he got another message.
PW: Good game. You'll get better if you keep practicing. KG: Thank you. I'll admit chess isn't really my game, but I've been told it allows a window into your opponent's thought process. PW: Kristoph told me the same thing. Never could figure that part out, though. KG: I see. PW: Again?
Another game bubble popped up. It was incredibly awkward, but he couldn't find a reason not to, besides being at work which he had completely disregarded already and thus could no longer offer him an out. With no plans to actually do his work any time soon, actually doing something was better than doing nothing.
After this game he got another message.
PW: You're a quick study. I can see how you became a prosecutor so young. KG: Thank you. It was hard work but I was fortunate. PW: Yeah, I had a bit of a late start, since I was a theater major first. It was really difficult, but my mentor helped me through it. KG: Frau Fey, correct? PW: Yeah, Mia. She was great. Maya and I miss her everyday. She would have liked you though I think. KG: That is high praise. PW: Another?
They played another, Klavier not doing particularly better than the previous games.
PW: Thanks for humoring me. No one here plays and I need to practice. KG: I do not mind. It has been a welcome distraction. PW: I know all about those. Usually it's Trucy. She's really something and always looking to improve. I'm really proud of her. KG: She is quite talented form what I've seen. PW: The best there is. Up for more?
Frustratingly, another game bubble popped up? What was Wright playing at? Besides chess, obviously. Klavier lost this game, too, though he did get Wright into check.
PW: Almost had me that time! I've got to watch out. You should ask Edgeworth to play. He'll be impressed. KG: I appreciate your words and the games, but I have to admit I don't understand why this is happening.
Klavier watched a text bubble with bouncing dots appear and disappear several times before the message came through.
PW: Sorry, I'm not very good at this. Apollo would tell me to stop being a cryptic old bastard. I'm trying to say you should come to Trucy's show this weekend. And the next time Athena tries to get you to celebrate with us you should. And if you ever want to bother Apollo at the office you should. Please get him out of here for all of our sakes. KG: I believe I am beginning to understand. This is you telling me I am forgiven? PW: This is me telling you there's nothing to forgive. Like I said before, I knew Kristoph, too. You were a kid. I was never mad at you. Well I might have been a little mad at first, but I knew it wasn't your fault. I think I was mad at myself and you were mad at yourself and really we should both be pissed at Kristoph. If you want to have this conversation in person, you know where to find me. KG: I think that would be best. PW: Sounds good. One more game? KG: That would be amenable. PW: You prosecutors and your fancy words.

What do you think Rhaenyra (book) should/could have done to foresee/thwart the usurpation of the Greens before it happened? (Many say she didn't do anything and that makes her a bad politician, but was it so crazy that she expected the lords to keep their oaths to the crown like some blame her for? I Don't think so. Your opinion on that?)
DISCLAIMER: I do not say she is at fault for the greens' treachery.
A)
Yes, she could have done a bit more, we always could do something. but I do not think that it's entirely fair to disparage her for being plotted against, attacked, etc. more than male rulers who have faced similar and didn't "plan". I'm talking about Maegor (his too-ruthlessness), Aegon the Uncrowned & Aenys (there were many signs Maegor wanted the throne), Aegon II (his poisoning), etc.
Yes, I still have some ideas, but most are quickly undermined by other circumstances:
have the spies (if they were there -- if not, put them there, and how do we know she/Daemon didn't?) and others she and/or Daemon already send in thwart Alicent's arrangements for the aftermath of Viserys' death (which she implements before the green council convenes after his death) and/or have those people give evidence and expose Alicent what she did and publicly reveal how sus Alicent was behaving before Viserys dies [this requires a stay at KL with her kids bc she can't leave Dragonstone without her direction for long and expect its people to be as loyal to her the same as if she were there]
separate Otto from Alicent much sooner [eh, so so, Alicent still has power without him and Rhaenyra was REALLY young, abt 10, when Otto was first dismissed...so...]
use some emotional manipulation on Viserys to keep Otto away and turn him against Alicent in other sublter ways, etc. [again, youth, and not even Elizabeth I could have been perfect at that with her own father, Henry VIII...it's a lot to ask of a daughter for her father]
As for "should", how do we know she didn't and it didn't work out for long? Remember, this book is written by a man who is not only a maester, wasn't there amongst these key players, is writing years after the actual event, he's also trying to re-establish how female rulers are not a good thing for Westeros, i.e., women with similar privileges and authority and agency as men will only be to the detriment of Westeros/the current "correct" social feudal order. He could have missed information he thought wasn't important or ignored others that don't fit into this narrative. The Citadel has thousands of tomes, papers, etc.!
I also dislike this argument that she was a bad politician and we should leave it at that because it doesn't take into account that:
she was listening and present at councils with Viserys since she was 8 at least; first as his exclusive cupbearer, so even though she wasn't always at council during this time, she would have been there and we don't know how long or short Viserys allowed her to stay (in bk, she only served him, not the rest of the members...so HotD is also on my list for that)-- then as just someone on the council
she shows herself to be a good leader through her ruling of Dragonstone for almost 20 years, having such a capable maester in Gerardys, etc. So she's experienced in ruling in ways Aegon never ever was!
Alicent had a lot of support (Larys Strong, her own father and his position, the Hightowers and the whole of Oldtown, patriarchy) for a very long time. Since Rhaenyra was a small child
not everyone is good at the "turning people against the other" or high grades of very subtle social/emotional manipulation. Visenya seemed to often bother, but she is never described as "stupid" or incapable. Her threat to the Arryn Queen doesn't count bc it wasn't subtle or a court manipulation, nor a subtle deception. Just because you're not good at it or willfully don't do it often enough, doesn't mean you should be removed from the position, deserved to be killed for it, be told you are a whore or at least undeserving, be accused of trying to upend the entire social order of "males first" -- because you didn't perform this one particular thing, your entire "portfolio" is trash?
Aegon is not scrutinized for "qualifications" and if we're really going to be a society where everything is decided by birthright and vows and "honor"/obedience to authority, why are the goalposts moved when Rhaenyra shows up? because she is a woman -- this isn't a capitalist society where you apply for jobs, this is a feudalist one AND even if you could "apply", Aegon has less/no "credentials" of actual rule while Rhaenyra has plenty
And we don't know where Alicent may have had more of Viserys war at moments, where Rhaenyra did, and what reasoning or lack thereof he himself used to blind himself to Alicent's bullshit.
B)
And those who disliked or found fault in her ruling or politicking at Dragonstone did so because have was a woman, and/or they lost something/someone at one point in her deliberations, were envious, were looking for more economic or political benefits, felt passed over for what they thought they deserved, of course some felt boys over girls should succeed in lines of succession, etc. ["Rhaenyra Overthrown"]:
Tumblr media
On the note about people lost during the Sowing...people volunteered for that, so...
Moreover, Rhaenyra is proclaimed heir. IF we are actually supposed to follow and not question the customs of the territory here (as some try to argue), Alicent is more at fault for disobeying the king's enduring choice and choice of heir. The one who did more and have to do more to even get one over Rhaenyra.
Rather, Alicent, on her side and by herself, acted dumbly by antagonizing Rhaenyra at all when she did not really know Rhaenyra's capabilities--whether Rhaenyra is faking any sort of "naivete", etc. Rhaenyra could have been a lot crueler. She puts her kids and herself at risk by making their relations with Rhaenyra colder and more antagonistic than they would have been already by teaching her sons to go against Rhaenyra -- Rhaenyra could have have had her sons exiled, ruined Helaena's reputations, etc.

Yes! It's like you put exactly what's been bothering me about the 4.09 into words. I just wasn't able to articulate it before. I love dark comedies and WWDITS is usually very good about balancing the two. The dark things that happen have to be be made funny/absurd, develop the plot and/or give insight the characters, and have some kind of eventual conclusion that makes it all make 'sense' in the larger story. 4.09 didn't make the dark things that happened funny. It was just fucked up and then they told some jokes about it happening. The only moment where anything developed satisfyingly from the the hours was Nandor's realization that 'maybe love isn't about someone liking the things you like' BUT... that monologue doesn't specifically mention freddie or marwa by name (iirc). i think that part was filmed before the rewrites and it was kept bc it was the only moment of satisfying development in the episode
I've had a long time to think too much about it lmao. I feel like I also wasn't quite able to articulate all my thoughts right after the episode came out, but I guess things have settled in my mind a bit since then. The sting of it has faded somewhat, I think.
And yeah, obviously I have no problem with dark humor. It's WWDITS's bread and butter. But usually it's very OTT and silly and we're supposed to laugh at the vampires for doing these awful things and not seeing an issue with it, not at their victims. And Guillermo has been tortured throughout the entire series, but... idk, usually there's like a kernel of hope for him, y'know? That they treat him abysmally but they still care about him. His life is awful but there's hope that it can be good. That fucked up things happen to him, but they're often the result of his own choices -- and he has the power to make different choices.
There were many ways they could have made what happened with Freddie funny or absurd or hopeful or a logical conclusion to his own actions, but... really, none of that quite gelled. The joke was just that Guillermo was suffering on a very deep and very personal level, far worse than he'd ever suffered at Nandor's hands before, and then the knife was shoved home in that last scene when he got it from Freddie, too. There was no punchline or catharsis. It just... sucked.
They sort of pawed at the idea that Nandor was doing this out of love and idiocy, but it didn't work the way Nandor hurting Guillermo by giving him a glitter portrait instead of biting him did in the pilot. I think that's partially because Nandor seemed so genuinely sweet to Guillermo with the glitter portrait (and Guillermo eventually came to love it) and partially because of how the episode ended -- with Guillermo opening the curtain and then closing it again. It was the reminder that he does actually have the ultimate power over them, and he just chooses not to use it. That brings the suffering back to funny because he does have recourse -- it's his own choice not to utilize it.
Both Guillermo and Marwa were not given recourse in this episode, and I think that's part of why it felt uncomfortable rather than funny. There was a real sense of them just... constantly punching down, not up at the vampires, and with jokes that weren't actually particularly funny. God, even just being funnier would have helped the episode tremendously.
I think doing this episode right on the heels of one about him finally coming to terms with his sexuality and coming out to his family didn't help, tbh. We were primed to be rooting for Guillermo to find happiness in this new direction in his life, or to at least have a good reason for losing it. (Which is why, again, I think the theme of Guillermo's lying, which fucked up his relationship with his family in 4.07, would have been interesting to examine in the context of 4.09.) But then... it's just an unrelenting 20 minutes of seeing Guillermo cry and be a punching bag through no fault of his own and honestly? It's just... not fun or cathartic to watch...
Harvey did a great job of selling genuine emotions, of selling the idea that this is so, so important to Guillermo and so, so devastating for him, and I think it just made the whole situation kind of upsetting rather than funny. It wasn't just Nandor being stupid and accidentally hurting him; it was Guillermo realizing that the one person he thought might put him first didn't actually love him at all.
(And I think the fact that Nandor did eventually put him first in the same episode was cold comfort, though perhaps it could have worked if it'd been more deftly handled.)
Like... that's the kind of thing characters in this show usually get revenge for (thinking about Jenna a bit here) not the kind of thing that's just... never really resolved outside of a character being permanently emotionally wounded by it.
And then it happening to TWO characters in the same episode, Guillermo and Marwa? Yeah, I can't say I'm shocked that people didn't respond well to it.
I think WWDITS can actually be so good at showing devastating things happening to their core cast (I mean, 4.10 was very good for that with Laszlo and Colin) and the emotional fallout of those things, but maybe that's even why it felt so jarring to see this awful thing happening to Guillermo and being largely played for laughs...?
Like... even when Gail dumped Nandor, the episode ended with Guillermo comforting him and him joining his friends... 4.09 just ends with Guillermo looking like he's been sucker punched as watches his boyfriend cheat on him in broad daylight. That's rough, man, and what a fucking downer of an ending.
idk man, the actual ingredients of the episode could have turned out all right, maybe? It was just the execution that was so damn baffling. It's like they just forgot to make it funny or charming or at least emotionally satisfying. Not a thing I'm used to saying about WWDITS. :(

I expressed that it bothered me when I sit down on the couch and he leaves.
I said, still jokingly, bc we were still grinning and playing at this point, that "you cant even spend a few minutes with me before you go"
He was fully aware the whole time that he was getting up to go and fully aware that I was unhappy with it. He still did it instead of considering me.
All he would have needed to do was come back out, go "alright, I'm gonna spend a couple minutes out here with you so it doesn't seem like I'm leaving because of you. But you know, I only do that because you sitting down prompts my brain to realise how long I've been on the couch."
The whole time leading up to it I'm asking him if he wants to game, I'll play a game he wants, or we can play Once Human, which is something he'd be interested, and he's not meeting a single one of my bids
I try to say, "well you promised me we would do X activity tomorrow that I've now actually cancelled and freed up for you so you don't have to wake up early and take me anymore, which theoretically means you should have room for other things" by mentioning that we're not going to the thing tomorrow morning anymore, and he says "we can go out for breakfast"
I'm reminded of the last time he promised we would go out for breakfast. It was dismissed and not prioritised, and it was never addressed. I say "before 10am?" he says "yeah". I realise that I have the doctor's at 12 and then we have to go out at night too. I'm not sure I have the capacity to be out for an entire day. I would rather do something tonight, seeing as the entire morning is now free for him to sleep in.
He's very much distanced, the entire time he's staring at his phone and hasn't given me his full attention once, providing one word answers to things.
At this point, he's missed like 20 bids for connection. The only point of connection was when I pushed into his personal space and he kissed me on the forehead - which was reassuring for a split second, but not enough to make up for missed bid after missed bid.
When he left as I sat down, and I verbalised how I felt, and he didn't come back, I went in to figure out if we were actually going to be spending any quality time tonight at all, because now I felt very dismissed and rejected, and I also felt like tomorrow morning there was a higher likelihood of him not prioritising me, because of his track record and tendency to go "sleep is more important than my girlfriend's feelings".
I mentioned about the couch thing, and he said, "well if you didn't take so long to make your hot chocolate". And the conversation moved to me trying to figure out at what capacity we would be hanging out bc if he had just met a single bid or my needs in that moment, I wouldn't be so triggered and trying to seek his time.
I said something like "I wouldn't be asking for your time if the little things were met"
He said we would spend time later, and I said, "If it's going to be like last night, that was only 10 minutes, and it wasn't enough time." I had literally asked him to watch a RM episode with me, something both of us were aware of the length of, and I said "do you want to watch a movie instead? it's the same amount of time as the episode" and he said "no" but this was even further giving the impression that he understood that we were going to be there for at least an hour.
And then he tapped out at like the 15 minute mark, which surprised me but I understood bc he did have work tomorrow
I was surprised he'd left it so late, but I figured he would set out the allotted time he needed, and he wouldn't make me feel like an afterthought, so I didn't question it. But the later he left it, the more I figured he'd just forgotten. But he came out eventually, but it wasn't that he'd forgotten, it was that he had set out much less time, like spending time with me wasn't something he looked forward to.
So I said, "I was expecting to hang out for at least an hour" and he said "I can't tell you how long it's going to be because I don't know if I'll be sleepy by 7" which just told me that he was happy to prioritise his time, but time with me was a "I might be sleepy so I don't want to prioritise anything". He was already seeing time with me as a chore, and I could hear that through his words.
and his stance was "We spent 4 hours together today, I've spent plenty of time with you, now I want to do my own thing on my own time, and I'm telling you that we can spend time later, I just can't promise how long it's going to be bc I want the option to tap out when I feel like it" as if he feels like he can't tap out bc I wouldn't understand (an expectation he's set for himself bc he's scared of conflict/disappointing me)
He begins to get frustrated and he's like "Idk what you want, just leave me alone"
I say, "I'm just communicating my needs-"
He goes "You're needy and demanding, I just want my own time"
I say "I'm not needy and demanding, I'm communicating what I need and you are getting mad at me for it-"
He gets even madder and he starts to set down strong walls and immovable boundaries
He tells me to get out and we will continue in 20 minutes
I say, "I'm more than happy to give you the space, you just need to provide the reassurance and I will leave". This agreement is something he has continuously disrespected and forgotten about over the last couple months
He is even more rigid and he refuses. He gets mad, and he leaves.
The entire situation was very classic dismissive avoidant, and even though I could see that, I wish I knew what the right thing to do was. He is more triggered than ever, and he's not able to stop.
I know I'm not needy and demanding. People are only needy when their needs haven't been met.
A person starving is going to react very differently to a hearty bowl of soup than a person who has eaten recently.
I would not be asking for so much if the little amounts I asked for were met ie. the few minutes on the couch. The smaller compromises to reassure me that he doesn't think I'm a burden. The reassurance I wouldn't need, if he hadn't severely broken my trust in him down over the years.
He wouldn't feel so smothered if he understood how little he contributed to connection in the relationship. If he worked on resolving his own internal wounds, he would understand that it is healthy and secure to accept your partner's influence.
But instead he says a tonne of rude things to me to push me away, when he could achieve the same thing through love, and now we BOTH get to be triggered, and I don't even get to enjoy my hot chocolate or my egg tart that I spent so long making.
