chimera logs meet the characters bc i feel like i need to explain just how screwed up everyone is in this au
1. colonel gary jasons
-always seems very bored or apathetic
-claus’ sole caretaker
-can speak to and understand the other chimeras but doesn’t like to talk to them because they are terrible
-used to work at the thunder tower before he was randomly transferred to the chimera lab and assigned to claus
-very good at hiding his true feelings when taking to people
-also just very sneaky in general
-things that he wants to happen just miraculously work out in his favor and he’s gotten good at noticing when and why
-takes the above to mean that he can just do whatever he wants and not have major consequences
-sometimes has these moments where he wakes up and has a flashback of his past that doesn’t correspond with what he thinks his past was like, thinks he’s going crazy
-really wants to quit his job and oh boy has he tried
-very wary of his coworkers and doesn’t take any of them seriously, can sorta tell something’s weird (like how they all have the same bad taste in music)
-is the only colonel in the entire pigmask army for right now and has zero clue as to why
-is 19 but thinks he’s like 25 or something because for some reason he doesn’t remember his age
-deborah was partially his idea, as he wanted someone else to have to watch over claus for a change, and as such he calls her his daughter
-not allowed to leave the lab for “legal reasons” but he does so anyway and usually takes claus because they’re both bored as hell
2. captain maxwell bates (or just captain max because he stresses to literally everyone that that’s what he’s called)
-strict 18 year old dingus who is the facilitator for a lot of bad business decisions on dr.andonuts’ part (he was the one who thought the horseantulas were a good idea)
-has worked at the chimera lab just as long as gary, but was instead transferred from the clayman factory just south of thunder tower
-likes to prank/bully gary because he too is very bored but he is incredibly bad at it
-claus hates him and he takes this incredibly personally
-really bad at math and dyslexic but for some reason is the best person on the entire nowhere islands at budgeting
-also really likes to nag gary about how much property damage he causes and has been keeping tabs on him for a good few months now
-hates all of the chimeras except deborah because she’s tiny (for now) and can’t break any of his bones (yet) and also tolerates claus because he has to and because he thinks claus is the most dangerous chimera
-obsessed with dcmc at an unhealthy level
-is around the lab less often than gary, and by that i mean he can actually leave without straight up breaking out or coming up with a convoluted reason to leave
3. claus (aka “kid” or “idiot”)
-only trusts gary and max since they’re the only people he’s ever met to not try to tranquilize him on sight
-sucks at psi and uses pk thunder (bee gay dunda) to wreak havoc when he’s EXTRA bored and 99% of the time he burns himself in the process
-has almost killed gary like four times now because he uses him as a punching bag/stress relief human
-is convinced gary is his biological dad, much to gary’s dismay
-is incredibly dumb and has zero social awareness, but is very nosy and likes to steal stuff whenever he can (especially from dr. andonuts)
-doesn’t speak except to gary, which even then is very rare and limited
-all of the other chimeras hate him because he won’t shut up and stop trying to talk to them
-chaos incarnate
-most mornings wakes up and forgets where he is
-likes to copy people because it makes them mad, or in his mind gets them to play with him (most people try chasing him or straight up slapping him)
-breaks his cybernetics at least twice every week
-wants to kill dr. andonuts SO BADDDDDDDDD
-throws forks at the wall when he isn’t passing time by causing chaos, annoying people, or blowing things up with his lighting hands
-zones out A LOT
-deborah is like his dog/big sister and conveniently can handle his absurd physical strength
4. dr. andonuts
-wants to die
-stuck in burnout
-knows way too much about what’s going on but is smart enough to know to keep his mouth shut
-except when claus is *not so subtly* spying on him while he’s calling king p
-hashtag oops
-“alright. what did you two do this time.”
-only able to get things done because of gary’s help, either by entertaining claus or finding things around the lab that he needs
-seems very focused on the past but not in a “back in the good old days” kinda way, more like a “i want to get the hell out of here” kinda way

Hi hi 👋! First off, could I be tagged when ur inbox is open, and two! I started my own ask blog a while ago but still haven’t received any asks. Can I get advice on how to make myself more of a pro? Or smth like that 😅
(  HEYYY  OMG  I'M  SO  GLAD  YOU  ASKED!  i'll  be  answering  this  ooc  because  ...  well,  vox  won't  be  helpful  about  this,  haha!  AND OF COURSE I’LL TAG YOU ! )
Tumblr media
1st   :   get  your  friends  to  send  you  asks!
you'll  need  posts  for  people  to  see  your  blog  and  follow  you,  so  to  get  started  i  highly  suggest  asking  your  friends  to  send  you  questions,  and  bonus  if  they're  interesting  ones!  depends  on  which  fandom  your  muse  is  from  but  just  for  example's  sake,  an  interesting  question  would  be  on  characters'  backstories  as  there  are  many  hazbin  characters  without  a  confirmed  backstory  yet,  so  it  would  be  interesting  to  see  your  take  on  the  character  in  that  specific  angle!
2nd   :   doll  your  blog  up!
this  is  genuinely  based  off  of  experience,  but  if  your  blog  looks  pretty  and  organized,  people  will  definitely  flock  towards  it  more!  it  might  just  be  an  aesthetic  but  it  really  does  go  a  long  way,  because  at  the  very  start  i  didn't  even  have  any  graphics  in  my  intro  post  and  i  realized  activity  went  up  as  soon  as  i  did  make  a  graphic  and  improved  the  quality  of  vox's  reactions.  if  you  need  help  on  where  to  start,  @hellishradio  has  a  tutorial  on  their  faq  on  how  he  does  his  graphics  for  alastor's  reactions  and  i  personally  use  canva  for  my  own!
3rd   :   consume/analyze  canon  media  of  your  muse!
your  portrayal  of  your  muse  is  half  of  the  appeal  of  your  askblog!  people  will  stay  on  if  they  find  your  portrayal  is  accurate  to  canon  or  agrees  with  their  idea  of  canon.  of  course,  since  your  running  the  askblog  it  also  should  agree  with  how  you  think  your  muse  should  be  portrayed!  and  of  course  the  best  way  to  answer  asks  the  way  your  muse  would  is  to  study  them  in  that  way  as  well.  ironic  as  it  sounds,  i  actually  really  hated  vox  when  i  first  started  this  blog  meaning  i  didn't  really  care  for  his  scenes—now,  i've  replayed  his  scenes  over  and  over  to  the  point  that  i  can  recite  probably  80%  of  his  lines.  i  even  did  impressions  of  him  and  spoke  in  his  voice  every  time  i  would  type  out  a  response  just  to  be  sure  that  the  things  i  typed  were  things  he  would  actually  say  HAHA  OMG  yeah  but  these  are  just  fun  little  suggestions  to  help  with  your  portrayal!
4th   :   this  is  important;  if  your  muse  calls  for  it,  don’t  be  afraid  to  be  mean.
obviously  there  are  things  you  can’t and shouldn’t  say,  but  this  was  something  i  was  very  scared  about  when  i  first  started  roleplaying  vox.  you  can  skip  this  if  you’re  playing  someone  agreeable  but  i  thought  this  was  worth  saying  because  i  know  how  daunting  it  is  to  be  mean,  but  believe  me  when  i  say  it  makes  the  biggest  difference,  especially  when  portraying  someone  from  hazbin  hotel.  there  are  a  number  of  characters  besides  vox  (e.g.  velvette,  valentino,  adam)  who’s  insults  are  part  of  their  characterization,  so  definitely  do  not  be  afraid  to  be  mean  if  your  muse  is  naturally  a  mean  person! i think specifying that you’re only playing a character and that all of it is for fun also helps with the nerves!
5th   :   reply  to  others’  askblog  responses.
it  also  serves  as  a  really  fun  way  to  have  short  interactions  with  others  in  the  fandom  and  a  really  cool  way  to  make  roleplaying  friends  and  mutuals!  it’s  basically  how  i  got  to  be  affiliated  with  the  blogs  in  my  intro  post,  and  of  course  people  from  that  person’s  askblog  will  check  yours  out  too!
6th   :   an  honorable  mention;  try  to  make  funny  responses  if  and  only  if  you  can!
i  won’t  push  this  point  as  strongly  as  the  rest  because  i  understand  it  also  depends  on  how  your  muse  is  in  canon,  but  i  thought  it  was  worth  mentioning  anyway  because  it’s  what  personally  really  helped  my  blog.  (if  you’ve  been  here  since  the  ‘hdmi  cable’  response,  i  love  you  so  much  thank  you)  i  think  it  goes  without  saying  that  people  remember  funny  responses  more  than  others,  and  with  that  comes  a  smidge  of  extra  entertainment  for  them,  which  will  draw  them  to  your  blog!
Tumblr media
(  i  really  hope  this  helped!!!  thank  you  so  much  again  for  this  question  i  had  so  much  fun  answering  it!  once  again,  hellishradio  also  made  a  similar  post  on  their  faq  if  you  wanna  check  out  their  tips!  )

"What, what, what do you want? No, I'm not talking to you, amorcito," he quickly covers the speaker on his phone with a palm, casting you a hateful glare that makes you feel exceptionally small. He takes a long drag from the cigarillo holder in his third free hand before exhaling the heavy smoke through his teeth in your face. "You. What the fuck do you want? I'm obviously busy. What, wanna make some money? Oh...oh! Why didn't you say anything?" He abruptly hangs up the call he'd been taking moments before without looking away from you. "Here, c'mon. I might have just the job for someone with a face like yours..."
[OOC under the cut.]
yep. it's another valentino blog. for roleplay, askblog, or just general dicking around IC purposes. obviously occasional NSFW, minors DNI, all that jazz. feel free to send me just about anything, i don't bite! :]
my main is @captainowlin, and i'll follow/send asks from there. if you need to refer to me OOC for any reason feel free to just call me captain/capn, or whatever really. i'm chill like that. my pronouns are they/them and i'm 20 years old if you're curious about any of that stuff.
just getting the obligatory disclaimer out of the way, i don't condone or endorse anything valentino does. doesn't mean i'm just gonna avoid it, i'm going to do my best to stay as in-character and that includes the good and bad. i'd be happy to alter things to my partner's boundaries of course! just hit me up however and let me know where the line sits because otherwise i'm just gonna let val be val.
in terms of DNI, like i said no minors please, this page is gonna be pretty heavily NSFW considering the fact that it's valentino. no valangel, but like, in the sense of romanticizing their situation. i am on my knees begging angel dust rp'ers to interact 🙇‍♂️
i am totally open to pretty much all and any ships, as long as they aren't making light of some nasty mess, y'know how it be.
oc friendly of course! i love interacting with peoples' ocs.
i don't care about stuff like "but how would they meet in canon", hell i don't care if our characters are from completely different sources. i like interacting with everyone!
i roleplay in a semi-para/para format, and would like to receive similar effort but i don't care about the length of replies matching. just don't give me one liners because i do not work well with those lmao
this is also just a casual ask blog! not every ask has to turn into a whole thing, i'd love some anons just rapid firing questions. i also might reblog random posts that just seem like something val would like. i don't take this whole thing THAT seriously if you can't tell.
this is stupidly long so i'll stop for now, but if you have any questions at all please feel free to ask! i'm much nicer than val is ;]
P.S. i am pretty newly into the hellaverse in its entirety so... be patient with me i guess. i'm not a veteran fan of all this lol just a fan of this freakazoid in particular

Hey y'all!
As an update, I still haven't really had the motivation to come back to my askblogs- at least not in a frequent/similar way as before. But I do miss interacting with people and I figured I'd make a lil ask call in the meantime!
Please reply to this post with a link to the blog you'd like me to send my kiddos over to! If you have some easily accessible ask hints, I'll be much more guaranteed to send ya something! Hopefully, I will be able to get to most/all of them 🤞
(this covers all of my askblogs, so if you reply you may also get asks from askingstickypaws, thelotuslava, momentusacademy, teampursuit or questingfever! if you want someone specific/a specific blog of mine pls say so :3)

Hi, Me again. Studying has been stressful lately, so no posts were made here on Tumblr. Sorry :')
Two things today:
1) Im making a discord server, where I'm gonna post my art - related and not to the askblog or UTMV in general - and where you can post your art and ask questions, too! I will post the link in replies. I'm doing this because socials are too much to look after, and Tumblr in general isn't quite a space for me.
2) I'm gonna move out in 8 to 9 months(by august 2024), and i need your help. You can comission me or support me with small donations. I will start saving up whatever money I get irl, too, whether it's lunch money or small job money.
It's okay if you can't make a donation/comission me! It would help a lot if you shared the situation with someone else, too. I will make a cleaner and more serious post that you can reblog, with every link included.
Thank you so much for any support you give, and thank you for being patient with me❤️
Have a blurry photo of Milo as a treat

// Heya! The mod of this blog here!
From what I’ve gathered, a lot of people, especially in the splat rp community are new, which is great! As someone who’s been roleplaying for a long time, I love seeing new faces. However, it also seems less veterans of similar communities are around and as such, tips and tricks that people have learned with askblogging and rping on tumblr haven’t been regularly brought up!
So consider this post a helpful guide to tips and tricks to rp blogging on tumblr! I’m not here to tell anyone how to do things, but these are simply things I’ve learned and I personally think help enhance the experience! If you have advice you want to add, or questions you want to ask, feel free to add on, ask me or DM me! Without further ado, let’s get on with it!
Tumblr media
QOL Tip 1 - RP icons!
While not necessary for the rp experience, icons can help with viewer engagement and also visually spice up text; especially if there’s lots of it! While any size would be fine, 100x100 pixels or under is recommended! This is to avoid making the post longer than it should be! I’ll be using some of my mod icons throughout this post to demonstrate! You can acquire icons under the various ways: canon art, fanart, or your own art! Canon and your own art are easy, since people know the source and you don’t need to credit yourself! If you want to use fanart, be sure to ask artists for their permission and credit the source!
Tumblr media
QOL Tip 2 - Blog themes!
I’ve seen a surprisingly low amount of custom blog themes! In fairness, tumblr has been kind of quietly shoving them away for some time now, though it’s one of the best features in my opinion! It’s a classic part of older internet culture, where you get to cultivate a theme to what you want to portray! Don’t know how to code? There’s plenty of free themes people upload for use! One of the most famous blogs to get them from is theme-hunter, though individual theme makers may have their own blogs so be sure to be on the lookout!
Tumblr media
You can enable custom themes in your account settings! Click the edit theme button aaand!
Tumblr media
You’ll find the custom theme button right at the top of your settings! You simply replace all the code in here with a custom theme you found! Be sure to try and make it legible for others to look at!
Tumblr media
QOL Tip 3 - XKit!
It occurs to me not many people may be aware of what XKit is, so here’s a quick rundown: it’s a third party add-on that improves your tumblr browsing experience! Whether it’s aesthetically or functionally, XKit is here to help! There’s been quite a weird experience with the add-on for years; a history I won’t step into right now, but XKit Rewritten is openly available and free to use! I highly recommend using its many features if you haven’t already. Here’s both the Chrome and Firefox versions!
Tumblr media
Blog Tip 1 - Blogs are your friend!
I’ve seen a lot regular anons rping in inboxes lately, which is well and good! But personally, I like being able to find stuff I send people, or being able to reblog it somewhere specific or keep my muses I send out in order! If you operate from a main blog, like I do, sideblogs are great to make and simple! Being able to keep your muses and any asks you send out organized in one spot not only helps yourself, but anyone you send asks out to or you want to reply to I would say this is a bigger personal decision than some of the other stuff in here, but I find it helps in the long haul especially if you want to keep certain things going! Even a blog where you can just reblog asks you send out would be nice! If you wish to not reveal your main blog for whatever reason, you can simply send it on an anon and include your sideblog’s url in the ask!
Tumblr media
Blog Tip 2 - Organization and Setup
If you’re intent on having a blog, simply having a blank page can only take you so far! There’s a few important things that I highly recommend blogs have if they wish to help themselves and others.
1. Tagging system: While not required, personally I find this helps me stay organized! Sometimes, all you need is to tag asks or rp responses, but I also like to tag anons and specific blogs I interact with! It helps when I want to look through something and I can use the tagging system instead of the search one, which sometimes leaves posts out! (Note: As far as I’m aware, the tagging system on blogs recently changed when trying to find them from how it used to be, so be aware of that!) Another important thing with tagging systems is to keep them consistent! This may seem obvious, but I had a serious issue with this when I was younger and had about 3 tags with slight variations of each other so none of my posts showed up in the same tag! 2. Blog pages: Even with the default themes, you can make custom pages on your blog that’ll even show up on mobile! (There’s a button for it to show up on the page, though most people link them in custom themes.) You can use this for many things, such as a reference page for your characters and other things, but I highly recommend setting up an about/rules page. These help with interaction between other users
Tumblr media
Blog Tip 3 - Roleplay and Post Length
Roleplay is one of my favourite parts of blogging in these sorts of communities; getting to interact with other bloggers and muses is awesome! Which is why it’s so important to keep your experience in mind when roleplaying! Ye olde ancient tip is to “trim” rp posts that are starting to get long! What’s trimming a post mean, you might ask? Well, rp posts tend to get rather long on tumblr, and it can make it a lot to scroll through! Both for you and others. Trimming it allows the rp post to not be as long, but you can still continue with your partner(s). My recommendation is to try and trim before 5-7 replies are hit, but this can vary dependent on the length of replies!
There’s two main ways to trim posts! 1. Use XKit’s feature: XKit has a feature that allows you to trim rp posts; it can end up a little funky sometimes, but it makes things shorter for sure! 2: Make a new post: This may seem like a lot, but making a new post is no big deal! It’s main done by linking the previous reply somewhere in the new post and either pinging your partner or messaging it to them!
Tumblr media
As previously mentioned, I hope this doesn’t come across as me telling anyone what to do. These are just things I learned when I started roleplaying, and I’ve kept with me since then. And I hope they help you! If you’ve made it this far, I hope it was a helpful read at least! I tend to not make posts like this; I certainly didn’t expect to make one on this silly kitty blog but what can I say. People outside of the splat community are welcome to rb this if you think it’ll help! I may have missed something, or may not personally use it, so feel free to add on things in the replies or reblogs!
I hope you all have a nice day, and thank you for reading and following this blog if you do!

why are you a furry /nj
Ahem. tldr; Pokemon made me a furry
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team introduced me to the idea of pretending to be a different species after I did the personality quiz plus it gave me a fondness for absol. I consumed more pokemon media including online webcomics. Most notable of which was stupid short eevee comics which had a tumblr askblog linked. And I wanted more content from the comic so of course I made a tumblr. I drew myself as an umbreon which ended up becoming his own character of my main blog @storm-eye-the-umbreon
I wanted to do my own pokemon story so I changed my main into one but almost immediately lost motivation to draw for it. But because of that decision I felt uncomfortable reblogging unrelated items to that blog and made a sideblog @interabsol and drew my current pokesona of Inter. A permanent megasol with little variation at first. That blog handled much of the mass reblogging I currently do on this one and introduced me to a few new blogs.
The itch to roleplay began so I did under my pokeblogs. Then... It began. Just a simple editing battle between a person pretending to be Reece's and one pretending to be Kitkat. Thus the Candy Wars started and mass roleplay with lots of cool people began. I could not choose a candy so instead I made a pepsi drink rp blog. Others did similar things with other brands and spawned the brandom.
I had been aware of furries prior to this but they started to take up more of my dash than pokeblogs and I figured I would eventually make a proper fursona. I had no direction to go in so I continued roleplaying and building lore for my characters, adding furry elements in here and there despite the brandom's incessant need to follow Supernatural type worldbuilding. I originally was leaning towards fox until the brandom's decline. Less and less roleplay was happening but RoosterTeeth had just release season 1 of camp camp and I noticed a few roleplay blogs popped up for it.
A lot of those campcamp blogs were titled character(s)-search-history. And thus this blog was born. Using a brand name with the official title in url plus searchhistory. The reason my description says "not actually official" is because Reeses or Kitkat got sniped by the actual company for false impersonation and every brandom/candy war blog put something similar to continue roleplaying without legal threat. Anyways I roleplayed as the actual google search engine for a bit but as it was with my pepsi blog, I filled this blog with reblogs at first related, then not at all. Some reblogs were from the mods of brandom adjacent blogs who followed me here.
This blog becomes a reblog blog interspersed with personal posts and random musings. One such musing after I had a good chunk of followers was, 'can someone make me a fursona' and one of my followers did. Google cat who you see in my icon and header was designed by @/doeskies here on tumblr and I have loved him since. But... He always felt as a mascot to this blog and not a proper fursona.
So I mused again and asked, 'what species should my new fursona be' and someone said lucario. @/Strinisaur on the same post replied bunny. I futzed around with creating a hybrid of the two and made Rya
Tumblr media
But whatever my initial idea for her was, I'm glad it became what she is now. Her design was further solidified by the drawing Strini made of her that is currently my pinned post and this one below drawn by @/exculis
Tumblr media
The drawing i made of her was with my own cutesy style that i could draw fast in. But I wanted more to her and so I drew this next and the fanart in response helped ground everything I wanted her to look like.
Tumblr media
Of course in that first image you can tell what I was playing and listening to when I created her. Power metal and DOOM ETERNAL. So of course I wanted my jackalope sona to be a jackedalope, which the above image tried to convey. And it did!
Exculis drew a wonderful pinup of her that I won't show here but it helped me know how I wanted her to look. And so I drew a suggestive picture trying to get close to the bodytype I had seen, also not showing here. But the back and forth on art solidified Rya as my fursona outside of this blog and my pokeblogs.
I mean, just look at her!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
drawn by @/exculis
That red outline one was actually inspired by my own drawing of Rya in Jessica Rabbit's outfit
Tumblr media
So, yeah. Pokemon got the ball rolling for me to become a furry and all my sonas were sort of a collaborative experience except inter. Inter came about because I became aware of my anxiety and absol seemed the best 'mon to represent myself.

= PASSIVE EVENT - Puzzle Games Event =
This event will revolve a lot around puzzle solving, whish seemed to be orchestrated by Sigma some anonymous person in the community... Is it dangerous? Is it for evil? One could only tell... but it has some sweet rewards.
(Event isn’t started yet, this is here for notification only~)
First Week will start this SATURDAY, 19th of Feb.
EVENT INFORMATION
General rules and instructions are fairly simple:
Sigma made this, but for story’s sake, OCs WILL think that it’s some random puzzle games they see on the internet/flyer/random billboard/what have you.  The whole theme is ‘hey, someone I don’t know makes a game event and you can win prizes!’
Only those who are in the MINECRAFT ASKBLOG COMMUNITY can join.
This event will be a passive one, which means it will keep going in the background while other active events can happen over it!
The puzzles will not harm the plot in any way whatsoever. Don’t worry about being hasty for the story. Be hasty... for the prizes lmao. This also means if you don’t wanna join, it won’t change your relationship with Sigma whatsoever. So really, take this one easy!
Each week will have four puzzles: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Bonus. You have ONE WEEK to solve all and submit. Depends on what puzzles you solve, you will be given access to Reward Pools accordingly. Read the game info carefully when it comes out!   *) Bonus puzzles are optional and is the hardest of them all.
DO NOT post your answers online. This is a competition.
Group efforts are allowed, but only 2 people at most per group. When you submit your answers, put the names of both members in the submission.
When the winners and reward pools are announced, please claim your reward in the replies!
You may retake other puzzles!
.
THE REWARDS
The rewards from this event will be items that your OCs can win, choose, AND actually use in your blogs, be it through RPs or for your plot convenience. I won’t police you on how to use it, but remember that this is a community that want to have fun. TL;DR, don’t be a spoilsport!
Tumblr media
*Full picture HERE)
The Tiers are telling: Basic, Common, Rare, and SSR. They come in pools, which means you will be able to choose ONE (or more) of these items based on your performance with the puzzles!
And here are the reward pools:
B-Pool - Small Pool, you are able to take 1 from TIER 1 only.
M-Pool - Medium Pool, you are able to take 1 from TIER 1 and 2.
R-Pool - Rare Pool, you are able to take 2 from TIER 1 - 3.
SR-Pool - Super Rare Pool, you are able to take 1 from ANY Tiers.
SSR-Pool - Super, Super Rare Pool, you are able to 2 from ANY Tiers.
.
EVENT PHASES
There will be a total of THREE phases to this event, each with different types of puzzles for you to solve.
Since they take some time to make, for now the deadlines for these puzzles will be set for 7 DAYS per phase! Winners will be announced at the end of the 7th day.
All in all, HAVE FUN!

Wintergala Time!! ❄️🌲
so my turn to host the event post this time lmao.
you may have heard of the fandom’s Kindergala that was hosted from June to July of 2020. the Wintergala is essentially the same concept!  --a fun way to interact with other kg2 creators and fans on tumblr, and a great excuse to dress up your favourite characters and aus in winter themed outfits for the season!
idea for this is by @fandoms-on-repeat, @hellochaoticpugglepuff, and @frosty-chiion
      ——— ❄️ ——— ❄️ ———
you can refer to the [kindergala post] as a reference for how it works and standard etiquette, but i will be reiterating the points from there, below:
characters:  any characters from the kindergarten 1 &  2 games are allowed. canon, canon-divergent, AU, and OCs are absolutely allowed
what to post:  you can draw fanart or write a story!  your drawings can be in the form of a multi panel comic, or a simple picture with text in the caption to say what your characters are saying and doing. you can write in quick small roleplays, or novel-length fanfictions. any format goes, as long as you’re having fun!
how to interact:  you can private message someone to ask if you can come up with a plot together-- or send something through asks/inbox, or create a post and tag the person you want to interact with and wing it from there!  of course, you don’t have to feel obligated to talk to other people and can simply do fun winter stuff with your characters if you just want to do that.
ships?:  are allowed!  you can ship your own characters together, or form a ship between your own and other people’s characters if they want to do that. pedophilia and incest are absolutely not allowed, and you are not welcome to participate if you plan to do gross things.
dress code:  winter wear!  anything christmas-y or holiday themed is good for your characters to dress up in
duration:  the Wintergala will last from the last two weeks of December 2020 (dec 20)  to the end of January 2021 (jan 31)
     ——— ❄️ ——— ❄️ ———
   Rules:
be nice to your fellow creators/kindergarten fans. it’s fine if your characters have conflicts, but keep your personal drama out of the event.
remember that this is for fun!  we just want to have a cool event where our AUs and blogs have a good time, so try to keep that in mind and don’t take things too seriously.
general manners and decency apply!  respect other people and their characters.
no NSFW or problematic ships (minor/adult, huge age gaps, siblings, you get the point)
any askblog or AU can show up as long as the rules are followed.
not considered canon unless otherwise specified by blog (this is just for fun)  if you feel okay with doing it, you can have your AU show up without explaining how they’re there. if you have a story going on, you can still bring your characters in if you want.
if you interact with an AU/blog, @ them or message them so that they know you’ve interacted with them!
don’t overwhelm yourselves!  don’t feel pressured to do anything, bring characters, or interact with anybody.
gore, blood, death, and stuff of that nature isn’t allowed for the sake of fun and comfort.
monster/creature/experiment characters are allowed as long as it’s tagged appropriately!  (body horror, flashing (in case of epilepsy/seizure inducing gifs), eye strain, etc)
don’t kill anyone’s character, or kill off your own character.
character conflicts are fine, but try to limit it to arguing and not actual fighting. essentially no violence.
you can draw or write for the gala. or both, and switch at any time if you can manage that
you can have as many characters as you feel comfortable portraying and are able to handle, including a few from multiple AUs you have.
characters should either be from your own blog/AU or be okay with the other creators of that blog/AU to bring.
characters can ask out characters from their own AU to the gala, or other AUs (make sure that if it’s romantic, nothing is age inappropriate), and you don’t have to have your characters ask anyone out to participate.
the gala is technically a formal event, but you don’t have to draw your characters in formal wear.
you can format your posts however you want!  (example:  showing multiple of your AUs in one post, how you draw, digital or traditional, whether you type or draw dialogue)
if you want your character to do something for the gala (perform on stage, catering, bouncer)  you can. there can be multiples of these kinds of jobs!
if you need to drop out or have a character leave, just try to make a post in the gala tag saying so. this is so people won’t keep interacting with you/your characters when you can’t respond. you can drop out at any time
you don’t have to make posts about the gala every day the gala is going on, don’t strain yourself or feel like you have to do anything.
you can put as much or as little detail into your posts as you want!
if someone wants to draw your character and they need a reference, try to provide it or give a description.
try not to take complete control of other’s characters in your posts!  If you want to portray someone else’s character in your post, talk to the owner of the character or work it so you only control your own character.
doing just sketches for the gala is fine!  you don’t have to make full-on Van Gogh drawings. (but if you really want to go for it, sure, just don’t overwork yourself)
the background of the gala is an endless white void, this is to make it easier for people to draw. you can draw a few christmas decorations if that’s what you want, though
    ——— ❄️ ——— ❄️ ———
and with that out of the way, please don’t forget to tag your Wintergala event posts with the hashtag #wintergala !!
feel free to reblog this post or reply with your AU/askblog if you want to participate, or simply reblog without saying anything to spread the word!
finally:  remember to have fun :D

Toko! I was thinking of creating an ask the character blog for IDV or Genshin Impact and wanted a few tips on how to start off. Anything you can share?
ey yo my dude!! thank you so much for this question, now im lowkey tempted (again) to make a genshin ask blog sjadhlkshgkahshglsaj anyway my 1.5 cents is under the cut, yall know how much i talk here HAHAHAHAH
uhhhhhh so i guess we start with picking a character u really Vibe with tm? I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE COMMON SENSE BUT LIKE ive been considering making a genshin ask blog for a while now but i never really got to it cos i couldnt really decide on a character (plus the fact that their outfits are. so intricate. is also a hmm since i try to follow details to a t) (at first i wanted to do zhongli, but i feel like to be able to muse him well u need to know the lore super super well, which i dont n im too lazy to research on that aha. n u know how much i respect characterizations, especially for such a complex character like him. i also considered xiangling for a period of time mostly for guoba but also like i have 2+1 blogs here n having one more might not be a very good idea aha) (as for aesop he was my Hyperfixation Character tm also cos i looked at his kit n went Yep i could work with this. probably)
so assuming ur not a dumbass like me n u kinda know who u wanna pick, id actually say to snoop around here for other ask blogs n kinda get a feel of the... scene? is that the word? or like u know, other blogs that u can potentially vibe with. ive run a couple of ask blogs before this current one (both that have died for different reasons) n from my experience interacting with other blogs (if theyre okay with it, i think most should be) is pretty fun. it also kinda helps get ur blog around to other ppl on other blogs so they can go Oh whats this cool shit n check u out, n its also a reason why we kinda reblog promo posts for other blogs (also cos we’re always excited when someone new comes on, its really the more the merrier. we see all :eyes:). interacting with other blogs is also an option when ur inbox is looking real roomy too
another reason why i havent exactly done a genshin blog is that idk i cant actually seem to find genshin ask blogs around (i have seen rp blogs, or those that answer asks with mostly text instead of art, but thats. not my thing since i hate my own writing aha) (i did find one aether blog some time ago, but for some reason i hardly see them around anymore??? idk man i might be wrong). its not like im trying super hard to find them ask blogs, so im sure they exist out there (hopefully?? im not sure but im being optimistic). i mean theres nothing wrong with just starting an ask blog without others around, but for me i do find a difference when i interact with other ask blogs n when i dont, n i prefer when theres others to have fun with (unfortunately i couldnt find any ask blogs to interact with in my previous fandom. i tried, but the blogs i approached seemed to go inactive shortly afterwards...) plus u get to meet friends that way too :D (i made a lot of friends via idv askblogs n its really been a joy vibing with others)
as for the idv scene. gestures around me. unfortunately there are a lot of ask blogs that arent that active anymore, but theres still some of us who are alive n kicking empty inboxes, n im sure everyone would love to see a new face around. winks at u. also there seems to be a lot more blogs popping up lately, which is really heartening to see.
then u kinda just. make ur blog? n a starting introduction post so ppl can reblog it n spread the word XD n yay u have a blog i guess??? XD
i gotta say tho. dont expect ur blog to take off immediately (especially for smaller fandoms like idv, tvbh i didnt think my blog would even get half this far when i started cos of how non existent idv tumblr seemed to be) n ur inbox will probably be looking pretty empty a lot of the time (or at least filled with some that u havent quite thought of how to reply to yet aha) (but also like empty inboxes happen pretty often, im sure most of us here have experienced this problem)
in the case of the first ask blog i ever started, it never really took off at all. ngl it was kind of demoralizing n depressing but to be fair i had picked one of the more obscure characters in the series, so obscure that many ppl in the fandom would have never heard of this character before. if u wanted to know, i took a character that only appeared in the 2nd musical of the series, who also made a very brief cameo in the manga to acknowledge his existence within that universe. thats how obscure my character was, but i went with him purely because he was my favourite character. i will say though i did enjoy it while it lasted n i learnt a lot from the experience, n i think thats whats important really.
i guess this kinda leads on (not really but let me digress) to the whole uhhhh thing where if u choose a more popular character, u get more attention. which is fine i guess? if u really vibe with the character, i mean theyre popular for a reason. n choosing a more popular fandom (like genshin) would objectively also get u more viewers n numbers. but like honestly i believe that ask blogs are meant for u to have fun with, n like trying to get popular gets tiring pretty fast (this shouldnt be like a main goal, but u know sometimes u subconsciously also want that gucci follower count n bomb ass notes or something. i used to be guilty of this until i realized it isnt worth it) especially if ur not enjoying yourself in the process. (case in point: my previous fandom was considerably larger n my blog got about 700 followers within a year or so, but it got very tiring n stressful to maintain after my interest in it died, n no one was really interacting with the blog even though i tried which kinda made it even more depressing despite the so called success n popularity of the blog)
anyway on a less serious note, theres a lot of fun stuff u can do with the ask blog, like some ask blogs have really fancy tags that i really like n try to do but also like not really HAHAHAHA. i kinda just channel what i want to see in an ask blog into my own ask blogs (good art is one, i try very hard for it to be good :,DD another is characterization, n others is just extra miscellaneous arts n stuffs like au ideas or memes. these are also somethings u could work on during ask box downtimes perhaps)
uhhh another side thing is like a posting schedule i guess? like ppl would be more likely to interact (i think) if ur blog is relatively active, n this is usually determined by the last post u made (i think XD). but like generally for blog maintenence id say try to kinda find a frequency that ur comfortable with?? cos i know my once a day posting is kinda insane if i wasnt so hyperfixated on all of this n fight the urge to dump all ur replies when u finish them XD (though ive seen some blogs do that n they do it pretty frequently so its pretty nice to know once u see their post u can spend some time going through the latest batch of posts XD) the queue function is pretty useful here even though i truthfully have never really used it, i kinda just post from my drafts really but it also helps to space out ur content to seem somewhat active especially when u dont have the time to be working on replies sometimes. i hope u know what im trying to say here aha
ANYWAY that was like my 1.5 cents cos i dont even think its worth 2 cents HAHAHAHAH these are just my thoughts from running all my blogs up till now, some that are still running n the others that have just died a natural death. i wouldnt actually delete them (theyre still around actually XD) cos theyre kinda like archives n i can look back at what i did last time. cos ngl i made some high quality stuff back then, n i dont even know how i managed to do that aldhflhdsgk. also ppl do look at archive blogs every now n then for the content thats there yknow
BUT YES anyway if u do decide to join the idv ask blogs hmu, ill be sure to give u a lil shoutout here. winks

With the ship launched and crew settled, it’s time to get to work. Which, for Bunbun, means updating. How smoothly that goes depends on the crewmates in charge... Bunbun’s hoping she’s in good company.

                                                  ===+===+===
Bunbun stood in the hall next to security, foot tapping nervously. If her hands weren’t clutched tight around her tablet, they’d be caught up in her hair, or fidgeting with her bandanna. It was just a routine ship update. Yes, most of the systems needed it. Yes, she was being supervised by a stranger. But it was nothing she hadn’t done before. She knew the ship layout. So did her new crewmate. It was just… extra precautionary measures. Nobody quite knew who they were dealing with nowadays. It didn’t seem like the door to security was about to spring open. It had been closed for all ten minutes she’d stood there. Captain Groud said it was nothing to worry about. Dark blue- or River, as the crew called him- often shut himself into security. At least, he seemed to do it a lot. If the doors are faulty, we’ll know soon enough, Bunbun thought ruefully. She tapped on her tablet screen, sighing softly at its  comforting glow. Her task list was still updating. She watched the number in the upper left tick slowly upward. Yeah. She’d be busy alright. A quick glance at the map confirmed what she already knew- the ship had a standard SKELD layout. A little pink icon stood right outside security. Crew Locator and Tablet Sync are working just fine, she thought. Good. Swiping to the right, the live feed of ship’s systems now lit up her screen. The amount of “OFFLINE” and “UPDATES NEEDED” made her snort. “HQ really doesn’t take care of their older ships, huh?” she muttered. Scrolling down, her eyes swiftly located the vent status. “CLEAR,” declared the system. “Clear,” Bunbun echoed, sighing. For now, at least, she could quell any suspicions of River.
Speaking of which, the telltale clunk and hiss of an opening door announced his presence. Bunbun straightened up quickly, standing to attention as the door split and slid into the wall. A crewmate in a dark blue suit stood in the doorway. A faded blue security cap was jammed down low over his unkempt ashy blonde hair. His green eyes were ringed with a raccoon’s mask. All in all, he looked like a standard security crewmate. Though his bored look and slouched posture said he might be a little put out by his recent assignment. Bunbun tried for a smile and wave. She opened her mouth to speak, voice a little shaky. “Um, hi, I’m-” “Bunbun, right? The new crewmate?” River interjected, a brow raised. “Yeah. Guessed as much. Haven’t had a pink around here for awhile.” “Er- right,” Bunbun stammered, a little taken aback. Interrupting? And… ‘a pink’? Someone was a little annoyed. “I’m… I’m here for the-” “Yeah, the updates, I know,” River said bluntly. Bun’s face reddened a bit. Was she overexplaining? Or was he just in a bad mood? She wasn’t quite sure. Yawning, River made a shooing motion. “Let’s get this over with, ok? I’ve got cams to watch, and I can’t do that if they’re all offline.” “Of-of course, sir. I’ll get on it,” she twittered. She quickly scooted around him, eyes downcast. Talk about a tough crowd, she thought grimly.
She took quick stock of the room as she entered. The monitors on the far wall were all dark. The desk along the back had piles of unorganized papers. Records that needed to go to HQ, she’d guess. The vent lay dusty and undisturbed in the back. With the maintenance panel closed and no other ideas, she wandered over to the flashing bulbs near the monitors. The bulbs were blinking red intermittently. Though, from what she saw, she was surprised anything was happening at all. The lights were indicators on an old, massive computer system, split between two shelves. Bunbun hadn’t seen a system like this since her academy trip to the ship tech museum. She gave a low whistle as she hooked up her tablet. Wait till everyone learns I worked with one of the old old models… “You really think you can update that thing?” River called from the doorway. He was leaned against it, arms crossed and gaze impatient. “Or anything here, really. This bucket of junk has been outta the loop for years. It’d probably short circuit with new input.” Bunbun looked back at him a little indignantly. She could understand being irritated with new crew members. It happens. New recruits often get things backwards, or bite off more than she could chew. But she wasn’t new. Her recommendation was high enough to have her bouncing all over. And doubting her skill? The one thing they brought her here for? That was going too far. Standing a little straighter, she held her tablet like a manager with a clipboard. “Even if things go a little haywire, this ship hasn’t dealt with me yet,” she replied. “I’ll get it running.” “Is that so?” River snorted. “I could make ship software run on a half dead toaster.” “Yeah yeah. I bet you could.” Bunbun didn’t miss his eye roll. She just shook her head. Fine. If he wanted to be difficult, he could. But she was going to do her job whether River thought it possible or not.
Raising her tablet, she tilted her head at the screen. She’d never been so relieved to keep the same tablet regardless of assignment. Working with a new one after being used to her personal upgrades would be a nightmare. The data whizzed past at an astonishing speed. Her gaze picked out the important stuff. The camera system was still functioning well, it just had a couple minor bugs. That was an easy fix. First off, the camera movement program had become a little glitchy. Old camera feed confirmed this- the cameras just jerked around sharply instead of sliding smoothly in circles. It only took a moment to find the problem code, pulling and replacing it with a patch she’d worked out years ago. Just for the fun of it, she slid in an extra bit of code. Just to keep the camera movement unexpected. Made the feed edges much harder to track from the outside, even if the cameras weren’t physically going anywhere. After that, she did a little survey of the feed record system. A few more patches here and there, and it was running properly again.
Bunbun smiled to herself as she closed out the security system, booting up the cameras on her way out. The monitors flickered back to life as she unplugged her tablet. And it had only been eight minutes. Bunbun looked over at River just in time to see him wiping an impressed look off his face. Her smug smile just earned another eye roll. “Ok. Maybe you know what you’re doing. But we got a lot more to get to,” he grumbled, “so you better be just as quick.” “Repair can’t be rushed,” Bunbun pointed out, “but I’ll do what I can.” “Good.” With that, River turned on his heel and left. Bunbun had to run to catch up with him. Despite supposedly sitting around in security all day, the guy moved fast. What was he in a hurry for? “You coming?” he called, standing in the middle of the reactor room. “Yes- yes, sorry-” she stammered, slowing to a stop in the doorway. The reactor towered over her in the back of the room. Glowing pulses slid from the main machine to cables inlaid in the floor. The whole place was awe inspiring.  And very scary. Things could go very wrong very fast if she wasn’t careful.
“Well…?” River prompted, gesturing around him. “You gonna do your thing?” “Of… of course,” Bun replied, nervously striding over to the control panel. “It’s just been awhile since I’ve worked with the reactor.” That’s usually left to the experts. “Well, let’s hope you know what you’re doing,” River grumbled. As he wandered away to lean on the wall, Bunbun nervously eyed the control panel. The startup mechanism was just as she remembered it. An older model, sure, but the light up cube pattern and well worn keypad looked about the same. Glad I’ve got that going for me, she thought ruefully. As for updating the thing, though, she… didn’t have a clue. Looking around for a place to plug in her tablet was unsuccessful. It didn’t look like it had a touch interface either. Not besides the keypad, anyway. She didn’t want to try wrangling code with that. The only other options she had were with the manifolds- not wise, as fiddling with those could cause a meltdown- or with one of the hand scanners. Her memory told her those wouldn’t do. They were for biological input, not technical. Bunbun bit her lip, looking back down at the control panel. What to do, what to do…? “Ay, what’s the holdup?” River called, making her jump. His shadowed eyes were narrowed, and his arms held tight across his chest. She stammered for a minute as she tried to compose herself. “I- I’m sorry, I’m, u-um, not used to working with reactor equipment- I- I can’t f-find where to, u-um, plug in my t-tablet-” “For the love of- ghhhhhhhhhh-” River strode quickly to her side. Gesturing to the control panel, he gave her a withering look. “You got my cams working in two seconds. What’s so hard about this? You just take the tablet, get it hooked up-” “B-but if I don’t find the r-right place-” “You try again, and you get to work-” “B-but the reactor is delicate-” “So be careful then!” Bunbun was cowering behind her tablet by now. She didn’t know what to do, River was not helping, and she wished she could just get out of-
“HEY! What’s the big idea?!” A voice shouted from the door.
It made Bunbun jump, and River freeze. She took the opportunity to take a step back and turn towards the doorway. In it stood a crewmate with a bright yellow suit. His short, shocking red hair was rather unkempt, a pair of repairman’s goggles managing to keep the longer locks on top from his hazel eyes. A couple bandages poked out from under his rectangle glasses and stuck to his cheek, and a pair of black hoop earrings hung from his ears. A pale coating of stubble surrounded his downturned mouth, brows furrowed in a very displeased scowl.
Uh oh.
Bunbun went right back to cowering behind her tablet as the man strode over. One angry crewmate was enough to deal with, but two? No thank you. Fortunately, he walked right past her to stand toe-to-toe with River. Jabbing a finger into his chest, the newcomer spoke again. “What EXACTLY do you think you’re doing, wandering in and putting bad vibes in MY reactor room?!” he growled. River took a step back, looking quite put out. “Geez- dude, calm down, I’m just watching the new crewmate,” River grumbled, hands up. “I wasn’t even gonna be in here long. What’s the problem?” “You, obviously,” the newcomer huffed, “you should know better than to rush the artists. Speaking of which-” Turning to Bunbun, a soft grin replaced his broody scowl. “Hello there, stardust! Glad to have you aboard! What’s your name?” he bubbled, holding out a hand. Bunbun blinked in surprise. Artists? This guy was… certainly interesting. But it was a good kind of interesting. The kind she knew pretty well. She let her shoulders relax just a bit. Taking his hand, she gave it a gentle shake. “Hello,” she said softly, “I’m, um, Bunbun…” “Bunbun! That’s a fine n’ dandy name. I like it!” he grinned. “I’m Lemon, in case orientation memories are hazy. Glad to finally be workin with ya!” “Y-you too,” she smiled shakily. A glance at River said he was subdued for now. Summoning her courage, Bunbun turned her attention back to Lemon. Time to see if the interests really matched. “Um, so, I take it you’re the reactor caretaker?” “Thaaaat’s me!” Lemon drawled chipperly. “Well, me and my son, but you’ll meet him later.” He waved a hand as if brushing the thought away. “But that’s- eheh- for later. I take it you need somethin’ from me?” Bunbun nodded shyly. “I’ve got a couple updates for the reactor,” she explained, “nothing drastic, don’t worry- just to keep it running up to HQ standards.” “Understandable,” Lemon nodded. “And uh- lemme guess-” he gestured to the control panel- “you can’t find the interaction interface?” Bunbun nodded again, relieved she didn’t have to explain. “If it’s not too much trouble, could you…?” “Of course, Miss Bun! Don’t you worry your fluffy lil head!” Lemon hummed. Gently nudging her to the side, he stood before the control panel. Bunbun watched in silence as he tapped out a complex code with surprising speed. With a beep and a click, the panel slid to the side, revealing… “Hey! That’s the update interface!” Bunbun beamed. “Correct! ‘S a lil hidden here, but it’s all for safety’s sake,” Lemon explained. He took a step back, waving her towards it. “Reactor’s all yours. Just treat my baby like you treat your tablet, m’kay?” “Makes sense. And of course! I’ll have her running smoothly in just a few,” Bunbun smiled knowingly. Seems her intuition had been right. She settled in front of the control panel happily.
Within a handful of minutes, the updates were once again finished. She stepped back to let Lemon close up the reactor, thanking him silently with her eyes. From his tiny nod and gentle glance, he’d caught onto her gratitude. “You done in there?” River huffed from the doorway. Bunbun’s shoulders slumped a bit. She’d nearly forgotten he was there. “Yeah, yeah, don’t get your leg stuck in a wormhole,” Lemon shot back. Giving Bun a pat on the shoulder, he led her over to River. “You two should head to upper engine next. My son was headed up there to do some alignments, last I heard.” “Ok! Thanks, Lemon,” Bunbun said shyly. He held up his hand- er- fist, smiling at her. It took her a moment to realize what he wanted. With a soft ‘oh!’ she bumped her fist against his. He laughed again, giving her a pat on the back. “Of course, Bun!” he beamed. “You’re welcome here anytime.” “Let’s get going,” River grumbled, turning back to the hall.
As Bunbun trailed after him, she could hear Lemon’s call of “don’t be a stranger!” I most certainly won’t, she thought happily.

Disrespectful behavior towards Neru, Haku and their fans
This is a letter of complaint, venting and opening my heart to you guys about a subject that has to do with the blog and matters lots to me.
Tumblr media
I usually don’t address the disrespect towards fanloids and fanloid fans i’ve been seeing from Vocaloid purists since the very day i made this blog, but today is a heavy topic day.
As you guys know Miku is no longer gonna be a Vocaloid. What that means to the relationship between Piapro and Neru/Haku i do not know. If they’re gonna appear in Mega39s, if Crypton will use their image rights ever again and so forth is to be seen. But what’s going on in the Vocaloid Wiki is something i have seen coming for a couple of years now.
Tumblr media
The Vocaloid WIki has been on a Vocaloid purism purge for a good couple of years. It started with the deletion of some character pages that were confirmed not Vocaloid like Alys or Meaw and it’s extending now to Teto, Vocalina, Acme Iku, etc. The topic of deleting fanloids was brought up by the same person who was doing the purge at the time and was ignored. Now that Miku is abandoning Vocaloid this user who to put it as kindly as i can has a hateboner for fanloids is taking the chance to get their pages completely deleted, arguing there’s the much copypasted, much more bare-bones and disorganized fanloid wiki for them if anything.
The initial purpose for Neru, Haku, Sakine, Hachune, etc having pages on the Vocawiki was to avoid confusion and correct the idea clueless fans have about them being Vocaloids. It’s there to inform and archive facts, story, trivia. I am someone against Vocaloid purism and deletion of information (fe all the interesting information on the Meaw project has been lost FOREVER wiped from the entire internet because their only wiki page with their profile and history was deleted by this same user) because it never hurts anyone to archive all the interesting tidbits things this Vocaloid fandom overall has gone through. It’s not occupying space on your computer so i don’t understand why it’s harmful for it to exist online for the curious to learn.
Because of my opposition to this direction i already had my qualms towards this user but on top of that they have given me reasons to believe they actually loathe Neru and Haku.
Tumblr media
There are no comment sections more policed and controlled than Neru and Haku’s in the wiki. Any innocent fun cheeky comment under their page will recieve a lengthy reply from this person shutting the fan down because Neru/Haku are unoriginal Miku copies, “irrelevant” and “just memes”. It’s very disheartening for fans and disrespectful. They spread tons of misconception like saying Haku was made as a form of bullying users or that Neru and Haku have no merchandise since 2013. I myself bought official NeruHaku Piapro badges from the Animate store in my trip to Japan in 2017. Sega released in 14 a macaron set with Neru and Haku’s logos which Piapro reported on. Crypton staff featured a Haku song in their official “classics” Vocaloid collection in their playlist site Kiite... this same year.
Tumblr media
Moreover, this person has a DA account which they use to comment rude things under MANY!! Neru/Haku artworks (such as "if they disappeared tomorrow it would have no impact") and try to get fans to ditch them for "real Vocaloids" instead, f.e. leaving comments like “sigh i’d love to see you draw Miku” (instead of Haku, etc).
Their crusade against Neru and Haku specifically borders on obsessive to me. I understand trying to clarify what's a Vocaloid and what's not to people, but why is it so important to you that you go out of your way to BROWSE arts of characters you dislike and pressure people into not drawing them any longer.
Tumblr media
Bigger version here
Please don't listen to comments like this if you ever get them, block and move on. You're in the right to draw and love whatever characters you want no matter their recognition or label. There is a decently sized Japanese community of Neru and Haku fans over on Twitter so don't get a devastating picture of "nobody cares about those characters and if you do you're outdated" from these misinformed comments. Don't feel crazy or wrong for loving Neru and Haku in 2019 even OVER actual Vocaloids, there are many of us who love them still the most.
This is not my first rodeo with Vocaloid purists saying horrible things about Neru and Haku, however this time i had to speak on it since the person is involved in Wiki editing and it's going to affect the information available for all of us on their history, official links, artwork/concept art, most popular songs etc. This person themselves is also running the new Piapro Studio Wiki which means they will also have no future over there (even though Crypton’s Wat has recently tweeted being interested in including more characters in the MMD Piapro official model lineup in the future).
There is no point in protesting to such a stubborn person, so i’m just gonna archive Neru and Haku’s pages on the wayback machine and post links for everyone in the future. Personally i have no energy anymore to compile info, translate and make my own site about them.
But i want you guys to know. Even if i disappear for a year or two, for a long time. You all will always have a place here in my blog as Neru and Haku fans, you are valid. You enjoy whatever fanloid you want. You stan your dead fanloid, your dead Vocaloid, your Hibiki Lui, hell, whatever. Screw people who only see facts, software and data. Even their popularity “status” or recognition. Many people love Leon, Lola, Miriam, Piko... to this day. A fictional character dies when YOU decide it, when it doesn’t exist in anyone’s thoughts anymore. Not when a truly irrelevant “authority” figure Hereby Declares your Fave has Henceforth Become Irrelevant.
I made this blog at 19. I’m almost 30 now. And i still love Neru and Haku as much as when i first made this blog, if not even more!! Neru and Haku allowed me to meet some of the most amazing people in my e-life, like all of you askblog mods, but related to the subject in particular, some NeruHaku fans such as @ask-neru-and-or-haku who i still talk to every single day.
Life got super difficult and tragic for me so i’ve been having difficulties to post; partly it’s adulthood but partly just my luck (had three people die on me on the course of running this askblog... two a couple months ago). But thinking about Neru, Haku, the people they brought into my life. Makes me so happy.
I wish i could be back posting here everyday. I will be back for sure, from time to time, sporadically doing answerbombs in rampages... until i’m very old i hope :) but in the meantime have my blog as a safe Neru Haku loving space. A little shrine blog. I won’t tolerate disrespect towards my daughters here or bullying towards any of you Neru and Haku fans.
Tumblr media
Phew... that’s it. Some good old venting and... sad but unsurprising news coming from this dry, canon-limited new wave in the fandom. Not “canon” to Vocaloid or Piapro? Gotta go!
RIP Neru and Haku Vocaloid Wiki entries  (2009-20??)

Pokémon Ask Blogs: A Guide
{Also, on the back of the “don’t send in fetishy stuff” post, allow me to offer up a few tips on creating your own Pokémon Expert Ask Blog. Yes, there’s a story behind why this is related to the “don’t send in fetishy stuff” post. Tl;dr, don’t powergame, kids.
Aaaaaanyway, so you want to make your own Pokémon Expert Ask Blog! Starting up might sound like it’ll be a daunting task, but it’s pretty easy once you get the basics down.
Tip #1: Start Writing, and Do It Persistently
The granddaddy of all rules when it comes to text-based blogs: ya need content. Like, a lot of it. Tumblr’s always worked against authors, no matter what field you’re in. It’s just a natural fact of life that text posts get fewer notes and less attention than photos or art, so in order to gain traction, you’re going to have to be super-consistent and super-persistent with what you’re doing. And don’t worry about writing a mini novel or anything; a lot of blogs get along just fine with only a short paragraph or two per post.
You will not have a crapton of notes on every post when you start out, and sometimes, it can take months before you get anywhere. To give you an idea, I really don’t think this blog gained traction until about six months to a year in. (Granted, some people have gotten traction faster, but remember: those people aren’t everyone. And also, don’t compare your numbers to the numbers other people pull in. That’s a good way to burn yourself out.)
Finally, queues. Whenever possible, queue content. For example, if you know you’re going to have a lot of free time on a Sunday, consider writing up multiple posts and putting them all in queue so you’ll have something for Monday onwards.
Tip #2: Tags Are a Blogger’s Best Friend
Remember: the first five tags on your post are the tags your post will show up under, so use that to your advantage. Tag your post with the pokémon that you’re focusing on, as well as well-traveled tags like “pokemon headcanons.” The pokémon is especially important because you’ll be surprised how many fans every single one has, and some folks are dying for content, seriously.
You will, without a doubt, pull most of your readers through tags when you first start to gain traction. Yes, even more so than relying on your mutuals or sending your OC off to interact with others. Sure, the latter of those two sources can help, but there’s simply a bigger market out in the tag cloud.
Tip #3: Google Is Also a Blogger’s Best Friend
So you want to play a professor or pokémon expert, but you’re a college student who’s not even majoring in a science to begin with. No problem! You can 100% fudge it with the power of Google! Research everything you don’t know to the best of your ability.
A few protips on this, by the by:
* Academic websites and papers are usually the most reliable, and they’re not as intimidating to read as one might think. This is followed by news websites, of course, but be careful about which news website. BBC, CNN, local news stations, local papers = yes; Clearly Right Wing Term News = no.
* Don’t be afraid of zoo websites, government websites, well-funded organization websites (except PETA probably), magazines, and blogs run by vets or animal experts, either. (Yes, even if the latter sometimes look like they still think it’s 2006.)
* Contrary to what high school teachers might have you believe, Wikipedia’s science articles are actually pretty solid. No one wants to vandalize the wiki entry for an extinct marmoset, but you know who is editing that? Experts who want to talk about extinct marmosets. Also, most articles on the stuff you’ll probably need to put together an answer will have a mountain of sources to verify that, yes, everything on that page is by and large accurate.
Tip #4: It’s Okay to Fudge It
When in doubt, fudge it. As in, be creative with your science! It’s your blog, so do what you want! And anyway, this is a universe where a toddler-sized rodent can generate thousands of volts of electricity, so why should anyone stop you? (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Just remember to keep your canon straight. Nothing’s more awkward than accidentally retconning stuff.
Still, word of caution about this: while the majority of your readers might not know the difference, some do, and if you’re writing a pokémon expert blog, you will probably end up getting mansplained to. It’s best to just roll with it or find creative ways to incorporate those corrections into your work. If all else fails ... limit who can reply to your posts.
Tip #5: Don’t Be a Dick
Soooooo ... powergaming.
To put it in short, that’s the act of deciding for other RPers what their actions will be—or, in a sense, playing their characters. With ask/headcanon blogs, it’s a little fuzzier what that would mean because ask/headcanon blogs feature a character talking about their entire world, but usually, it means deciding for someone else what is and isn’t canon to their blog—or, in other words, sending in-character asks that contradict explicit canon of another player’s blog or that would otherwise not fit with the way that player has designed their universe. A lot of players will let this slide, but it’s still really hella awkward to suddenly be face-to-face with a character who's asking about something that’s technically impossible for your world.
But more importantly, let’s talk about advertising. Do not use someone else’s blog to advertise yours, especially if you’re powergaming to do it. That’s kinda not cool.
Or to clarify, it’s okay to send in-character asks. That’s perfectly fine so long as you’ve read up on the canon you’re about to send or so long as you send the player a message, asking if it’s cool first. It is also okay to send in an ask to the effect of, “Hey, I just started this blog; could you promo me?” or a message to the effect of, “Hey, I have this idea; can we RP it between our characters?” The first instance involves you going out of your way to fit into the player’s universe, which then ensures that they have control over the content that they’re posting to their own blog. The second instance involves you actually going out and seeking permission to co-create content with the other player.
What is not okay is violating a blog’s canon or a player’s boundaries.
So for example, let’s say that Bill posts something like, “Komala eat coconuts.” It’s not okay to have your character go into that post, reblog or reply to it, and say, “Well, actually, komala hate coconuts, and here is a story involving my character that illustrates how this komala they know dislikes coconuts.” This is basically taking control of what is and isn’t canon according to Bill’s player.
Likewise, while it’s probably okay to send in an ask to the effect of, “Komala eat coconuts; I know this because I have a story about komala” (although please ask first or otherwise check to make sure it’s not violating canon first!), if Bill says, “No, actually, they really don’t like coconuts,” then it’s canon in that universe that komala do not like coconuts. If you really want komala to like coconuts in this case, please make a post to your own blog about it. Do not reblog Bill’s answer.
Ultimately, what it comes down to is this: a player has the last say in what is and isn’t canon on their own askblog. Period. Underlined.
Tip #6: Yes, You CAN Roleplay with Yourself
It’s also worth it to note that not every blog has to start out directly RPing with another blog. Yes, you can write independently! Granted, yes, not everyone wants to, but my point is that if your first post can just be you posting your own thoughts on the way the Pokémon world works. That and not everyone interacts with other blogs all the time. In fact, this blog got its start just making shitposts in the guise of pokédex entries not because I really wanted to RP but instead because I was trying to make myself laugh by posting as Bill. And for the most part, it’s still that; because the canon is so different compared to fanon and because this is a sideblog, I don’t really send Bill or Lanette out to interact with other people unless someone tags this blog in something.
That isn’t to say I’m not open to it or that everyone has to be like me; it’s more saying that it’s okay if all you do at first is construct a story for yourself on your own blog. If your character and the world they live in is interesting to the rest of the fandom, people absolutely will stop by because people either love hearing about their favorite pokémon, or they love hearing about how this one scenario they’ve thought up will play out in someone else’s world. So don’t sweat it if you find yourself talking to the void for a long period of time.
If anything, consider it freedom because in space, no one can hear you yeeting actual canon out the window.
Tip #7: Yeet That Canon
Final tip: The more you think about Pokémon canon the less it makes sense. It’s just ... it’s just like that. So yes, it’s okay to treat canon like some sort of all-you-can eat buffet where no one’s going to judge you for putting the hot fudge sundae toppings on a slice of pizza. Pick and choose whatever canon you want or disregard it all. Take your blog and run with it. Eat that pizza with hot fudge sundae toppings, you absolute animal.
And most of all, best of luck!}

Hi, Anonbox here! How does one open a JSAB askblog? I am planning to but I need tips on running it. I hope I don't off as desperate. :/
First off I’d say if you’re thinking of opening an ask blog, you’ve probably already developed your characters to a certain point. Don’t be discouraged if some of what you’ve thought up doesn’t stick. Characters often evolve organically as we use them, especially as we interact with an outside influence as we do with an ask blog. Some characteristics or mannerisms you’d never considered may start cropping up simply because it feels right for the character. I like to think of ask blogs as big character studies, exposing them to things you would have never considered and seeing where it takes you.For a time after the initial creation of the blog, it’s going to be you and your followers getting to know the world and characters. If you’re eager to initiate bigger plot elements and story lines it can seem a little frustrating and slow, but I encourage you to let yourself adjust to having the blog and discover your characters with your followers before guiding them on exciting new adventures.
Don’t burn yourself out! I’ve run a couple of other ask blogs in the past, some that lasted only a short while, and one that lasted several years! It can be exciting getting asks and wanting to reply to everything right away, but working yourself too hard in an effort to get everything done as soon as possible is a surefire way to make you hate running the blog. Some days you can get several asks answered with no issue.Sometimes it’s a struggle to get even one done. Don’t turn running your ask blog into a chore, it is supposed to be fun after all, accept that you may have to sit down some days and say “I can not do this today.” Your mental, emotional, and physical well being is more important and your followers will understand if you’re not cranking out 10 asks every night. Work at your own pace and don’t beat yourself up for being human. Letting yourself forego working on the blog can even be as simple as because you wanted to watch a film or play a game instead. Remember, an ask blog is for fun, it’s not your job.
Sometimes you will get asks that you cannot answer. Maybe you’ve received the same sort of ask several times and don’t want to essentially be making the same post 5 times. Maybe things progressed too quick and some asks aren’t relevant any more. Maybe you just don’t understand what some asks are asking you for, they’re nonsensical or vague. Maybe an ask is trying to impose a magic anon that you don’t want or know how to implement. Maybe you just can’t think of what to respond to an ask with. There is no shame in holding off on an ask for a later time, or for when they’re more appropriate, or even deleting them altogether if you feel you can’t do anything else with them. If an asker thinks it’s important enough they may send it again, giving you another chance to properly answer it, or they may rework it so it is applicable to the current situation. You are allowed to put it out there that you’re not accepting magic anons or that you have trouble with or don’t want to deal with certain kinds of asks, and you are certainly allowed to ask people to stop if anyone spams you. People want to interact with you, but they need to respect your boundaries. I haven’t had any issues of these kinds but I feel this is an important concept to get out there, to askers and answerers alike.
If you’re at a loss for ideas, or have the beginnings of something you’re having trouble fleshing out, I find it helps to have someone to bounce ideas off of. An outside perspective on things can be very helpful.
Tumblr has an anti bot system in place where new blogs’ posts won’t show up in tags until they’ve reached a certain point of creating content and interacting with other users, even if it’s a sideblog. I experienced this at the start, but in the grand scheme of things it didn’t take long for my posts to start showing up in the tags. Don’t be discouraged, keep at it and you’ll be in the tags in no time. Consider using your main to redirect people to your ask blog initially. I would also be happy to give anyone’s ask blog a shout out to get the ball rolling in the dark times before tumblr decides you’re allowed in the tags. :)
I’m afraid that’s all I can offer you anon, but I hope you found something useful from all this. If something comes to me after I’ll be sure to put it out there for you and everyone else. I can’t wait to see what unique take on this game we all love you give us. Take care, have fun, love you.

TIPS FOR STARTING A POKE-ASK BLOG - MASTER POST
HEWWO THIS IS A MASTERPOST OF ASKBLOG TIPS CREATED BY SKITTY-A-DAY MOD. I HOPE YOU FIND THIS TO BE HELPFUL IN ANYWAY AND IF YOU HAVE A TIP THAT IS NOT MENTIONED ON THIS POST, FEEL FREE TO COMMENT IT AND I WILL ADD IT RIGHT AWAY. - Keep your presentation clean and professional. By this I mean do your best. Try and post finished art. Don’t leave the rough lines underneath the finished work, try to avoid quantity over quality. A tip for this is to avoid overly complicated character designs! Keep it simple and sweet, and easy to recognize. That way you can draw it over and over without stress. For digital artists, or artists learning digital art. Here are some resources for you: Free: - Paint Tool SAI (Cracked. I use this version, it should be safe to download) - FireAlpaca - Krita - Medibang (Avaliable on the App store as well) - ibisPaint (App) - Autodesk Sketchbook (App) - OpenToonz (Animation software) Not Free: - Manga Studio 5 / Clip Studio Paint (I own this, I highly recommend it) - Photoshop (There are cracked versions, but please be safe) For traditional artists, it may be a bit rougher for you because digital art tends to be a bit more eye catching. But if you can’t make the transition to digital, here is a tip. If you can, use a scanner for your work instead of a phone. If you do use a phone, use this wonderful app: Camscanner
- Choose a Pokemon that you love but is easy for you to draw. Your best choices should always have arms. I know you may adore wooper or may love dratini. But if your muse lacks arms and even legs, your ability to draw responses will become incredibly limited as your muse cannot physically pick stuff up or easily interact with the environment. Looking at you voltorb.... - Character first, Pokemon second. Don’t look at a Pokemon and simply decide you’ll make an askblog revolving the said Pokemon simply because they’re cute or popular. It’s bad practice and can lead to you losing motivation for your blog. Try to develop a character first and create a reason for their existence, develop the world around them, give them motivations and struggles. Then choose a fitting Pokemon you love. - DON’T give into impulse blogs. I know that one Pokemon is awful cute…. I know how you think it would be real cute and easy to draw everyday and that you’d figure out a plot/character later…. DON’T DO IT THAT IS THE DEVIL TALKIN’ TO YOU Plan your blogs out. Don’t impulsively start a blog that honestly means nothing to you. Trust me, you will likely drop it within a month. And if you keep changing muses/recycling the blog, people will lose interest as they can’t keep the connection to the characters up. - On a similar note, DON’T JUMP ONTO POPULAR POKEMON BANDWAGONS. Or do so if you wish, but like with the impulse blogs, try not to create a blog simply because the Pokemon is popular/new. It will lead to inactivity if you don’t really have the passion for the Pokemon and instead jumped on board for the fad. Fads fade and so may your interest for that Pokemon! - Try to not oversaturate your ask roster. Unless you have great experience with it, try and keep your ask blog to one to two muses minimum. It’s more intimate for the audience learning about one or two characters than it is trying to keep up with a large cast. - Plot based blogs are hard They can be very draining and difficult to keep up with. I’ve noticed that this is one of the number one reasons why people drop their blogs. Story board your blog first if it’s plot related, as in make sure you at least write down major story beats and details. Do not rely solely on asks to keep the plot going, you won’t always gain the necessary asks you need. Make standalone story posts / comic pages to help further serious plot points. If you want to even, follow this next advice: - Send asks to yourself. Honestly, don’t be afraid to send asks to yourself. There’s nothing shady or embarrassing about it. If you’re a new blog and can’t seem to get enough asks to reply to / garner interest to get more asks rolling. Send some anonymously to yourself! Or have a friend send them! There’s no shame in prompting yourself to give yourself a head start you need. I gave myself a couple asks when I first started! With the format of ask blogs, you do what you gotta do to keep the format going! Another reason to send yourself an ask is if no one is noticing the finer details of your plot / characters! Perhaps you want to give a subtle call out to a detail people may have missed, send yourself an ask alluding to this said detail! - Interact with the community. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP. Unless you happen to have some ballin’ art right off the bat (even then...) you’ll rarely gain any followers or interactions unless you give with equal parts take to the community. Send asks, reblog other’s art with your added interaction, follow others! In return you’ll gain followers from that sort of friendly exposure. Keep in mind that the community seems to run on the mutual exchange of drawing each other’s muses. It’s fine if you don’t want to draw the muses featured in asks and focus on stuff like your own characters, but know that drawing other people’s characters encourages them to do the same for you, and as a result makes your character’s design more well known and recognized. - Join Pokemon Discord servers. There are plenty of them out there! Get to know the mods of blogs personally and then you’ll be able to support each other’s work on a more intimate level! If you have a Poke Discord, feel free to comment / reblog this post with a link to it! - Be consistent. Try not to disappear for long periods of time unless you need that mental break (I’m pretty guilty of that) A lot of popular blogs tend to have an upload schedule / have a steady pace in between uploads. On the flip side, don’t be afraid to take breaks! Keeping up with your blogs and your followers is wonderful and all, but if it’s taking a toll on you, popularity means nothing when it comes to your mental health. Stock up your queue if you wish, a queue is an artists’ best friend! But please take breaks if needed. - DELETE OOC CONTENT This one is a big one. I know some people don’t want to bother with a mod blog. But trust me, keeping your blog free of unrelated content is REALLY important. Visitors who come to your blog to see your work will inevitibly be turned away if they encounter nothing but ask memes and other unrelated relogged content. I know it’s your blog and you can do what you want with it, but if you want that ease of access for your followers, be considerate and provide what they followed for. Delete ask memes when you’re done with them, and keep unrelated reblogs to a personal / mod blog. It helps a lot in the long run with maintaining a viewer’s attention and interest. - HAVE A REFERENCE OF YOUR CHARACTER LINKED ON YOUR PAGE That means find a theme that will allow you to do so. There are plenty of tutorials online on how to find a suitable theme and implement it! People responding to your ask or interacting with your character will want to have that said character’s ref available on hand. It’s considerate to have it readily available for them so that they don’t have to dig through your blog! - Tag the person who sent you the ask in the finished response! (Provided by @walking-in-a-dream) After you’ve finished an ask sent to you by someone who wasn’t anonymous, tag them in the finished work, even if you are answering them directly. Tumblr, especially as of late, rarely notifys you of these sort of things. So if you tag the person asking, it’ll give a better chance of them seeing! - Reblog the asks you sent out! (Provided by @walking-in-a-dream) On the flipside of the previous tip, reblog the finished response someone took the time to create for your ask! It’s polite and it helps out that said artist by sharing their finished work! This may conflict with the ooc content tip, but this takes priority. Help out your community and share answered asks! - Draw for yourself, not for popularity (Provided by @leilani-popplio) Do not draw for popularity or any other goal in mind other than for your own enjoyment. If you obsess over your follower count or your notes, it can lead to unneeded disappointment, jealousy, or stress. So please do yourself a favor and don’t worry about what’s ‘popular’ Everyone works at their own pace and your blog will blossom with the love and dedication you put into it! - Tag your work! (Provided by @deathbycelosia) This is very important, for two reasons. One reason is for the exposure to new followers! If you tag your work with relevant tags, new people searching through those tags will find it! Tags may include: Pokemon, [Insert specific pokemon], pokeask, and askblog! Another reason is to organize your posts for the convenience of others. When your posts are tagged by character, by plot chapter, event, etc, it gives a better ease of access for your followers to find posts with certain content! [more to be added]

skrtomg replied to your post: someone convince me to stay in the south park...
I don’t think being in a fandom necessarily has to be an active state? Just make and consume what you want when you want to, enjoy what you like and ignore what you don’t. At a certain point how much work can one person produce? Contribute what you want when you want to – you don’t owe anyone anything.
cant argue with that one
but its less about the work and just i dont enjoy the show or really anything else anymore. i just feel like ive been dormant for too long and ignoring what i dont like has just ended up being the whole show (plus its hard to run the askblog now because i keep getting questions about the new seasons, and the more of the show they make the more i have to ignore and the more obscure my stuff is getting) so. i kind of just feel like im floating and pointless
