I think what I want to get into with the "Anyone can do harm." thing that I keep beating yall over the head with is that literally anyone, anyone at all can do harm it's not "in your DNA" to be an abuser or written in the stars that you'll be a predator.
Whatever image you have of an abuser in your head, drop it and replace it with your favorite person in the world and you'll probably be closer to the truth than you realize.
It's easy to address harm when it's coming from someone you already hate.
I see it happen all the time. Someone you couldn't stand for no real reason does something heinous then all of a sudden here comes the avalanche of "I always knew they were a fucked up individual."
No, you didn't.
There is no possible way you could have known, you just already didn't fuck with them before they started doing something you could use to justify your hatred of them. I'm guilty of it too! I'm petty, mean, vindictive, and yes! I'm way quicker to believe something bad about someone I hate versus someone I love because I'm human. Still, y all gotta learn to move past that initial "Well, they were always nice to me!" gut feeling and understand that nobody truly knows anyone and anyone can be capable of anything. Even victims. Even you.

I had a dream… where Cherik were Logan’s parents and Erik was disapproving of Logan dating Wade because of how unserious and witty Wade is.
“What do you even see in this kid, Logan?”
“He makes me laugh.”
Then my dream cuts to a couple of years later where Logan and Wade are getting hitched somewhere without telling anyone but Vanessa. When word gets around Erik is having a panic attack while Charles is comforting him, said they’ve done worse.
Unfortunately, I woke up.

It's the cowboy in me trying to escape through creative means
Wrangle's Lore dump is here!!! He's... hmmmmm... basically a Link that became an Epona
Poor guy comes from a Hyrule where everyone is enjoying the peace a little too much. So much so that when the residents of the Central City heard some country kid was being claimed as the hero, they're a little reluctant to be living through another dark time in Hyrule's history.
A hero showing up means terrible things, so whats a city of snobs to do but bully this "Link" child. He runs from a crowd that had gotten a hold of him and ends up where the Triforce chills out and accidentally makes a wish to the darn thing from his pleas. "I dont want to be seen as the hero. I want to run away." And the Triforce said "Bet."
Next thing Link knows is he's standing on shaking foal legs and a golden set of reins settles on his head. He couldn't do much as guards heard the commotion only to find this pony hanging about and hey free horse with a side of panic as their golden relic is completely gone.
Years past and Link gets the reputation of being a brute, but does enjoy watching the people panic over a doomsday that hasn't really shown any evidence at happening. He gets to live life as a work horse and bucking cocky lawmen off of him.
Until one day the infamous horse thief, Midna, stops by and skips him to go after the other horses first. Only she has to hide in his stall at almost being caught before she could leave with the last horse.
The guards are furious that he's the only horse left and if they can't ride him what's the point.
They gang up on him to be sold and buy other horses to another farmer, butcher, glue factory, anything. Link bucks and fights but theres too many of them. But when he all but gives up Midna comes tearing out of her hiding spot and fights her way through the guards on him.
She gets real hurt in the fight, but Link charges towards her and all but throws her on his back as he bolts out of the city.
They get away and have a mutual respect for one another and are pals from then on. Link never really reveals he's a person, he just stays as a loyal steed. It's simpler to him.

thinking about nanami in casual clothes very heavily right now. a sweater and sweats that hang off him cause they're actually one size too large. you had overshot in the sizing when you bought them for him, but now it doesn't feel so much like a mistake, they suit him too well.
at first, he doesn't seem to catch on to why you become so attached to him when he's dressed more comfortably. doesn't see any sort of attraction in his hair being so tousled, the appeal of him stretching while in a loose shirt, or the charm of him still blinking sleep away as he brushes his teeth. you assure him that you still love him put together, but there's just something about him letting loose around you that makes you happy.
he lets you undress him when he gets home sometimes, a routine you eased him into slowly. when you first moved in it pained you to still see him in his suit or tie despite him having been home for some time. when things were worse, you would find him in the living room the next morning splayed on the couch and with hardly any time to take off his shoes.
your plan started slow, catching him at the door and loosening his tie as soon as you greeted him, trapping him at the entrance with conversation and enough affection to have him slightly spinning. it would at least get his coat off. other articles were slightly more difficult, but not impossible. his dress shirt often comes next, when he grows tired of your fleeting affection and finally catches you in a deeper kiss; your hands wander casually, leaving the nape of his neck and planting themselves on his hips. he lets you untuck his shirt with ease, too immersed in making sure you knew and felt how much he missed you.
when the two of you break away, he always looks much softer than when he walked in.
"let's take this off?" you offer, tugging at the hem of his shirt and guiding him toward the room. "i want you to be comfortable."
and he'll gruff and mutter and act releuctant, but follow nonetheless. he can't find himself denying anything when around you. "i'm well aware," he'll reply through a chuckle.
he chooses your favourites without being asked, sometimes will even pick based on what you're already wearing so that the two of you match. he knows it makes you happy, your smile wide when he comes to join you on the couch. the two of you might read separately or while the other watches something on the television. it didn't matter, as long as the both of you are tangled together and you can feel the sigh of relief that escapes his chest when he feels the weight of your head rest on his shoulder.

obviously all the characters in Interview With The Vampire have such tragic pasts, and they each have so many good lines of dialogue that beautifully capture that trauma, but the one I just keep coming back to is Armand saying, voice shaking, "No one has painted me in over 400 years". It's the sadness and resentment in his voice, the implications of it, partly he just misses Marius I'm sure, but I really think that it's more than that, Armand is so deeply insecure, I can't help but think that maybe he doesn't consider himself worthy to be painted, he says "No one has painted me in over 400 years" and I can't help but hear "It has been 400 years since I was worth painting"
