London Calling: Kotobuki Special

Aka: ReiRan Trash Fluff Content No One Asked For! Under the cut~ Another oneshot inspired by the UK Reiji event in Shining Live. (Word Count: 1237)

Reiji hit the duvet with a thud and a sigh, his face hitting the exact gap between the two sets of pillows. Flopping in the middle of the bed after a long day and receiving no grumbles in return? It wasn't the same.

The excitement of being back in England obscured the distinct lack-of-Ranmaru feeling for the first few nights, of course. It had been a whirlwind of meetings and executives, stores and shoots. Not to mention sightseeing with Syo in every spare second, dragging him to the best of places with so much blind enthusiasm you'd have thought it was Reiji's first time in the UK.

In fact, it wasn't until the third day he started to really feel it – in the muskiest of back alley record stores, the gruff clerk was chain smoking while 80s punk blasted through the speakers at a volume discouraging discussion. Ranmaru's favourite volume. Wouldn't Ranmaru have loved the selection, the aesthetic, the guitars lining the walls? And the place they went for dinner, some pretty famous rockstars had dined there before, Ranmaru would have thought that was neat. Thoughts of that nature built up, becoming louder than his enthusiasm and more pressing than the usual kind of underlying chronic emptiness until it peaked. It was only day four, and Reiji was left sighing into the sheets after something as silly as seeing a stray cat in an alleyway. The spitting image of the stray they called their own, a black coat of fur with the cutest little white socks. But even if that wasn't the case...

“Ranran would have wanted to feed it...” Reiji murmured. He fumbled for his phone in the pockets of his tweed jacket, only to be met with vibration and the most delightful image on his phone: A candid snap of his boyfriend chowing down on a banana.

He quickly sat up, putting on the biggest of grins as he propped up his phone on the pillows and faced it.

“Ranran! I was just thinking about you~ See, I told you we're connected. It's magical!” There he was. Rolling mismatched eyes, perfectly spiked hair, too much eyeliner, lips that tried too hard to suppress their own smiles. “Yeah, whatever. Airhead,” Ranmaru grumbled, voice lacking in bite. He glared at Reiji halfheartedly from what looked to be a dressing room – make up bags open on a counter, cans of hairspray littered about. Reiji pouted his poutiest pout, grey eyes widening and lips pushed out to the extreme. “Mouu, you're being mean before you've even said hello. Where are your manners?” He angled the phone a little higher, giving a better angle for viewing his mock heartbreak. “I said I'd call you on break. It's break.” Ranmaru's stare was almost accusatory. The sheepish smile Reiji gave him return elicited an exasperated sigh. “Airhead.”

“Riiiight, you did say that! I completely forgot, hehe~ ”

“Yeah.”

There were few too many beats of silence, lengthened by Ranmaru's intense focus on, well, anywhere except for the screen.

“Soooo... how's Japan?”

“Fine. Quiet.” Ranmaru paused, pursing his lips in the way that he did when he wanted to say something, but wouldn't. “Guessing England's great?”

“Only the most amazing place on Earth!” Reiji couldn't stop himself from sighing dreamily, for the United Kingdom truly was a land of wonder. “We both fit in here so well! With my knowledge and Syotan's looks- Oh, his looks, he looks so good in punk fashion just wait till you see the pictures! It's fate! Such an eye for aesthetics, Ai-Ai must be so proud.” Another dreamy sigh, his kouhai certainly did look fantastic.

The moment where Ranmaru would have usually told him to slow down (or in severe cases, shut up) passed, encouraging the motormouth to fill the space. After all the existence of silence meant his RanRan wanted to listen, that he'd maybe even missed the rambling. “We're just, really having the best time, even though there's been some uh, pining. Syotan misses Nattsun a lot. Buuut, you didn't hear that from me.” Reiji enthused into the camera, with a little wink at the end. “Hue hue, he's trying to hide it of course, but he's bought a plush toy from just about every souvenir shop we've been in. So cute.” “Always with the gossip,” Ranmaru grumbled half-heartedly. “Leave 'em alone.” “I'm just keeping an eye on our precious kouhai group, that's all!” Reiji said, punctuating with a whine. “Aww, don't make that face. You love it!”

Ranmaru shrugged and grunted in response. As the resident Ranmaru grunt expert, Reiji instantly recognised it to be a neutral grunt. Noncommittal. Heh, he totally loved it.

As opaque as those oft mismatched eyes could be, as forceful as his protests could be, Ranmaru's heart seemed pure and transparent. The more he tried to hide his feelings, the more they slipped through the cracks. Watching it unfold made the world around Reiji more bearable, made him feel less breakable somehow.

“You know...” Ranmaru cleared his throat, rubbed the back of his neck. “I think Aki-chan misses you. She's been meowing at the door. Being all weird 'n shit.”

“Meowing for papa? Oh, Aki-chan! Poor baby. At least I know Ranran will take very good care of our girl.” Reiji couldn't help but smile a small smile, imagination racing.

Their sweet kitten curled up on Ranmaru's lap, napping together on the couch. The afternoon sun would shine through the windows of the condo, Ranmaru's hair catching the light in a way that made it seem to glow a little. Almost as sweet as reality, the pixels that made up Ranmaru's face on his screen and the words that made up his thinly veiled affections.

“Still... I better come home soon then, ne? For Aki-chan, of course.” The grin Reiji wore was hardly innocent. It had the rocker spluttering. “Do whatever you want!”

“What I want,” Reiji left the word hanging, tension mounting. He watched Ranmaru's shoulders stiffen, tense, on the defensive. Likely expecting teasing, or worse innuendo. Reiji chuckled and hoped he'd never become immune to the giddiness these antics brought him. “- is a good nap session with you. I'm missing my Ranran, you know!”

And he was hooked, line and sinker. It was always such a pleasure to watch the tension drain out of him, watch him soften, try and find his bluff and bluster.“Video not enough for ya?”

“Of course it isn't!” Reiji scoffed in mock offence. “You're not here, and I wanna take you all around London! There are so many stores you'd love, and street musicians, and bars, famous venues and-” “I'd go with you.” Ranmaru blurted it out like some kind of confession, eyes screwed shut as colour filled his cheeks.

Eyelids fluttered as Reiji blinked in rapid succession, lips parted and eyes wide. “Eh? What was that?”

“You heard me,” Ranmaru gruffed. He looked offscreen, as if trying to pretend his cheeks weren't burning still. “One day. I'll go with you.”

Reiji shot up, dropping is phone in the process. “Whoo hoo!! You mean it?!” “F-For the rock. Don't read into it.”

“Too late! Uwah! You can't see yet, but I'm doing a happy dance.” He swiped his phone from the duvet, grinning into the camera. “Hue hue, you really do love me, ne, Ranran?”

Video calls were their own kind of magic, tangible and wonderous. The warmth in Reiji's chest felt full to bursting, smile so bright his cheeks hurt. It only grew as Ranmaru scratched the back of his neck, his gaze falling to his screen – the visage of Reiji that filled it. “Yeah. Come home soon.”

Also, just like Egoistic, I think that No. 1 is a big turn on for Reiji (especially when he sings the "SHOUT" part... I mean, am I the only one ajdjs I'm not doing this on purpose I swear who would beg him to dominate the shit out of me?), so if we really had a version of Reiji performing the choreography with Ranmaru... Holy Moly, guys.

I haven’t brushed up on your rules so I’m very sorry if this isn’t too specific or detailed for you. ;-;

Hi Syd! Of course I don’t mind! I’m super happy to be writing some more for utapri! Usually I limit headcanon requests to 3 characters, but I’ll make an exception here because I couldn’t possibly split up the lovely men of Quartet Night 💖 Enjoy! 

First of all, being Quartet Night's composer would be hard work. These guys are pro's, but they were brough together by Shining, not by friendship. As their composer, your job is not only to create music for them, but also to keep them together a little.

There is but one way to unite them as one front: whenever someone is threatening you or flirting with you. Or just getting too close to you, for that matter. You are THEIR composer, and everyone else needs to stay away from you. If anyone treats you wrong, they've got 4 men stepping in to tell them to back off, sometimes politely, sometimes not so much.

Every Quartet Night member has a weak spot for you. You create the most beautiful songs for them based off their preferences and personalities, much better than any composer-for-hire they've ever worked with. Because of this, they're all nice to you in their own, unique, way.

Camus

You're one of the few people Camus shares his sweets with. Whenever possible, he asks you to join him for his afternoon tea. If a new song needs to be written, or if he needs a woman's advice on a job, he likes to take these opportunities to ask you. Otherwise, teatime will just consist of a pleasant chat or a comfortable silence.

You're also the only one he trusts with his dog, Alexander. He'll ask you to watch him if he's out for a long job and if you want to, you're allowed to walk with him whenever you want. Alexander is super attached to you as well, almost as much as his owner is.

Camus is the type to have long conversations with you about the song you composed before he starts writing the lyrics. What were you feeling when you wrote the piece? What were you thinking about? Did you have a theme in mind already? He wants to bring your message across to his fans as best he can.

Reiji

Reiji is constantly showering you in compliments. It can be about your skill, about your appearance, about your professionality,… it doesn't matter, Reiji will find something and he doesn't let a single day pass without complimenting you.

Hugs. Hugs everywhere. Reiji is a very affectionate person, and he will often hug you as a greeting, when he's happy, when you're sad or tired... basically, at any excuse he can find. If you're shorter than him or around his height, he also likes to stand behind you and rest his head on top of your head or shoulders.

Reiji is your absolute hype man. Whenever you're having trouble creating or finishing a piece, or where you're feeling demotivated, he will be there to cheer you up, cheer you on or even to brainstorm a little with you. When you finish a piece, he's already praising it after the first few notes.

Ranmaru

Ranmaru is an amazing cook, and he knows it. That's why whenever you're near him around any time you need to eat, and he has the energy, he will offer to cook for you, on the condition that you eat together with him. His rice omelet is to die for.

He is especially grateful that you're his composer. Most composer in their branche of the industry don't know how to write a good rock song. Either they sound like some big rock hit, or there's no soul in them at all. Because you know him and his style so well, you deliver the best rock songs with all his emotions in them.

Though he's no good at actually helping you compose things, whenever he notices you're having a block or when you just can't get something written, he will drag you out of your room and distract you. No use forcing things when it isn't working right? He'll help you get some fresh air and some laughs, so that hopefully after that, with a different mindset, you'll be able to get something done.

Ai

Ai is a very perceptive man, and it shows. He's constantly paying attention to the little things about you and because of that, he often helps you before you can even ask anyone for help. You're about to say you're cold? Ai's jacket is already on your shoulders. Low on energy? Ai is already holding out a healthy snack to you. You need a nap? He'll sit down next to you so you can use his shoulder as a pillow.

If you're looking for objective feedback on your pieces, Ai is the best person to go to. The other members of the band love your music unconditionally, and will excuse any parts that aren't perfect. Ai is the same, but if you ask him for any points to improve on, he'll analyze ever part of the piece and give you some good feedback. He doesn't sugarcoat his opinion, but he makes sure to not hurt your feelings either.

Ai actively avoids conflict with the other members of the band when you're around. He'll ignore things they say or do that he'd usually comment on, and even help you and Reiji calm Ranmaru and Camus down if needed. They may not always get along great, but he doesn't want you to get caught up in their arguments. With his logical arguments and calm mind, the situation usually calms down pretty fast.

REIJI KOTOBUKI

I've always been drawn to characters with complex (and fairly dark) personalities, so liking Rei-chan was honestly inevitable for me.

He looks like a very bright and cheerful character at first, which he is, but sometimes that part of him is a little misleading because, in actuality, he's a character that holds a lot of negative feelings about himself due to a past that he can't seem to move on from. He holds a lot of those feelings to himself because he doesn't want to burden anyone else with them. He's a reliable, cunning, and ultimately selfless character that chooses to shoulder a lot on his own out of his infinite care for others, and perhaps a secret sense of atonement, all hidden behind his bright demeanor and goofy smile, and it's endlessly interesting to me.

Besides the duality of his personality, he has a lot of other endearing quirks to love about him. He loves his mom a lot and is a mama's boy. His old-man jargon and catchphrases never fail to amuse (I still can't get over the way he says "my girl"). His obsession with anything even remotely British is something my APH England phase can relate to. His style of music brings a lot of pleasant feelings of nostalgia for me, and his pretty voice suits them a lot. And most of all he's just a very good boy overall. I rate 99999 out of 10 would love and support him and also maybe pay for his therapy because god knows he needs it. Happy anniversary!!

What do I like about Reiji kotobuki? A Lot of things actually!

Well, I've always really liked Reiji as a character as he seemed to be one of the more interesting characters to me, due to how complex he is with his backstory and general just personality.

I have always really enjoyed how Reiji just solves problems too? Like he is just such an outgoing person who deserves all the support!!!

Like the best word I can use for Reiji is just, unique. Everything about him is just so Reiji. From the way he talks, to his nicknames or even his texting style. Like have you seen how many people use emoticons when texting as Reiji? It's just so him.

I like his way of thinking too! I feel like some of the interactions in the games are just so interesting, just seeing Reiji’s point of view. How he deals with a sort of survivor’s guilt and all of that.

Personally, some of my most memorable roleplaying moments were watching a Reiji rper in action, like just seeing them interact and flow so seamlessly with the other characters was just so fascinating to wee baby rper me. Such a large part of playing Reiji is just how you flow with the people around you and comedic timing. I have so many funny moments where Reiji was just interacting with people and it was just so inspirational (?) like I couldn't stop the smile on my face. I had learnt alot from them. I still consider them my roleplaying senpai almost! I don't talk to them anymore but I really had an amazing time just seeing their spin on the character.

I don't find him to be a romantic partner towards me nor do I see any of the characters in that light, but I've always found Reiji as such a personal character. Not even just towards me, like even with other utapri stans. The most relatable character always seems to be Reiji.

I've always been pretty similar in many aspects to him and I often find myself relating to him in numerous ways like his vibe is just relatable! I have often found myself trying to make other people laugh and have fun that many times I'm spreading myself thin and feel unappreciated...Reiji really helped with that.

This is where i start getting into the really personal stuff LOL feel free to skip if you dont wanna hear the angsty backstory.

I had really come to love Reiji when I had just...hit a low. I had a group of friends who I enjoyed hanging out with and just talking to, but they weren't very good friends per say. I often had to schedule every activity we did and I spent days and nights trying to think of concepts that might be fun. They took it for granted.. I had spent 4 months trying to make a game for them, and they had constantly pushed back times that we would play it. Using excuses to not play it, without telling me out right what they did not like or even why. The site I used was later taken down without notice and thus I had lost all my progress. Later, they had mentioned how they would like to play it except that later ended up being two years later. I really wish I could've solved things with that friend group like Quartet Night did but that didn't happen. That is when I started seeing things Reiji’s way? Not to say that it was the same or similar scenario to Reiji but I had just associated it with him.

RANMARU KUROSAKI

Ran is such a fun character! He sounds like a "rough outside, soft inside" kind of character, but his roughness is more like an integral part of him and it's through it that he shows he cares rather than setting it aside. That's what made me want to rp him. I also like how he is such a strong guy who's always determined to do his best in everything he does despite so much having gone wrong in his past. And it's very satisfying to see him form bonds and start to trust people.

Originally, my favourite Utapri boy was Ai, and it had been the robot boy for several years upon entering the fandom. In fact, it only switched to Ranmaru sometime late last year but regardless, I would still die for this man. Part of the reason why I switched is because I’ve always been a fan of Suzuki Tatsuhisa and I have a huge bias towards any man who wears nail polish without fearing being “feminine” because fuck gender roles.

As someone who studies fashion, I think Ranmaru is very coordinated and confident when it comes to portraying himself that way. He knows he’s not very good at expressing his emotions and utilises his passion for rock and playing the bass to portray those feelings through his songs. It’s also incredibly inspiring to know that he bounces back from pretty much anything considering his backstory and the stuff he deals with in the game/anime.

But my main reason for loving Ranmaru so much stems from the fact that I admire him a lot and want to be more like him. For a long time last year, I got to roleplay as Ranmaru in a few Utapri groups and through those experiences, I gained a better understanding and appreciation of the characters that I wrote for. In some weird way, by highlighting his flaws, character progression and how he dealt with different emotions, I ended up providing insight into how I dealt with similar issues by looking at them from a 3rd person perspective.

I used to be very shy and was very shut off from friends and family, and due to this I’ve always admired people in my life or fictional characters that are so confident in being who they are. Ranmaru particularly struck that chord in me because his bluntness knows no end. He’s very opinionated and doesn’t fear confrontation, in most cases being the one to provoke it. He speaks his mind openly without being overly anxious of the consequences. This is something that I feel is especially relevant today with being your authentic/unapologetic self is such a trend.

It’s something I’ve also noticed with having met people in or outside of this fandom, the notion of idolising a fictional character containing traits that we want to see in ourselves. Which made me think about a lot of my favourite kinds of characters which at the end of the day all boil down to sharing one similar trait: Being a bitch.

And in Utapri, Ranmaru embodies that. So naturally it’s very easy for me to idolise him.

(Tldr: I like his bitchy attitude.)

AI MIKAZE

It's hard to put into words why I love Ai Mikaze, perhaps it's because I'm subconsciously drawn to him, maybe it's because his hair and eyes are my favorite color, maybe it's because his voice is that of an angels, there are many reasons why I love him. I couldn't tell you a definite, "These one or two reasons are the entire reason I love him", but I'll try to sum it up.

I grew to love him by admiring his personality, his smile, his determination to reach his goals, everything about him made me happy. He's strict and a little scary at times, but when he sees people caring for him, he becomes happy and in a way, sentimental. He's not sure how to explain the way he feels, but he tries. I think I admire how he holds all the little things precious to his heart as he learns about them, and he wants to understand how to care for others and how they care for them in return. Even after six years, he still remains the most dear to me. I think that he now has a sentimental value to me, because even if I 'loved' another character more for a while, I will always come back to Ai. Ai deserves the world, and I'd give it to him if I could. He'll always be special to me, and I think that he very much deserves that.

My love for Ai started after I found Shining Live by chance and started to play. At first I wasn't particularly attached to any of the characters and decided to go back and watch the anime to maybe remember some context other than who Starish was. When I got to the episode focused on Ai and his "secret" I was absolutely thrown off by it all. I ended up feeling like I had so many questions and I knew that the anime would give me little to no answers, so I frequently turned to rambling on the internet about it. Eventually, this fixation on weird things about him seemed to turn into a clear fondness for him, and friends made me realize just how much I liked him. Knowing the cold and often strange aspects of his personality was due to something out of his control was something I resonated with as someone on the autism spectrum. He reminded me of some of the ways I used to think and behave.

I also began to notice other things I loved about him. Things like how soothing I found his voice, the pleasant shade of light blue in his hair and eyes, how ridiculously pretty he is... but the best things are the endearing parts of his personality. Though he's somewhat harsh, he's still entirely genuine. His curiosity is absolutely precious and his occasional awkwardness in expressing emotion or understanding the emotions of others made me empathize with him. And if you look at the Ai in Shining Live and compare it to the Ai in the anime and games... he really has changed a lot and grown as a person. He now seems so much gentler and understanding, and he clearly values the friendships he has now too! I think he's a wonderful character and ever since friends of mine encouraged me to selfship I've essentially been in love with him, but it also makes me happy to see other people appreciate him for other reasons as well. He's just so lovable!

Hello, this is Suikamaru, here to share a tiny story of why I, and eventually you, love Camus Rondo Cryzard.

At first glance, his looks appealed to me, but not his behavior (and ironically enough, his voice) so I didn't bat an eye on him. I've always been on a neutral leaning to dislike opinion on Camus, which is quite understandable because have you SEEN the way he acts. Unfathomable.

…..To a Young Suikamaru, that is.

I've grown, so naturally I've changed preferences regarding characters, ikemen, and who to stan and who to avoid like the plague. I will lie if I said that I expected to like that blonde confectionery devouring machine at any point of my life.

But it did happen so who are we fooling here.

It dawned on me that Camus is the type of character that you cannot appreciate unless you go in depth into his lore, backstory, and see him for who he really is. Because then everything else will make sense. And that never happened in my case until I started roleplaying as him.

I realized that he's not just a two faced, sweet toothed mean man. He's a perfectionist, someone who's always been raised since his childhood days to be nothing less than complete, who has locked on his heart and emotions to devote himself completely to the purpose given to him. He has the looks and brains for what though? He should be a little stupid honestly.

But his intelligence gave him the complexity that he just needed for his characteristics. Because as aforementioned, he's not someone to easily like or fall in love with. And I think that's quite rare in characters, and very much appreciated due to the fact it gives the fans a chance to not actually stay on a flat level of knowledge regarding their favorite characters.

I've slowly started to see myself in some aspects of him, which was the number one factor of liking him. Then came the Maeno magic when I realized Camus shares the same VA as another character that I love as well. (Hamelin, from SinoAlice.) From then, everything went downhill.

Trigger Warning: This does deal with depression and anxiety, and some suicidal thoughts, so please be warned! I will try to tag appropriately, but if I miss a tag or need to add another, then please tell me! 

Reiji Kotobuki:

    I take shallow breaths. I can feel the tears welling up in my eyes. I cling to myself, in hopes his arms will appear as mine. In hopes that he will come hold me and tell me he’s here for me like he has always done. I swing my head into my lap. I can feel my body shake. 

    So, so, so, many bad thoughts. Horrible thoughts! What if he never returns? What if he tried to leave me like Aine did us? My head shakes violently. No, no, no, no! That isn’t possible! He wouldn’t- would never do that! To us! To me! 

    The tears drip down. But, what if he did? What if he did leave me? Like everyone else? Why am I alone? Why am I all by myself? Aren’t I a good person? One who deserves love and happiness? 

    Did I mess up? N-No.. I would never… Reiji… please, don’t leave me alone. Please don’t leave me like Aine did.

    In my thoughts, a light floods in. The arms around me transform and a sudden warmth envelops me. Huh…? W-What is? 

    “It’s alright my girl/boy... I’m here for you now. Sorry to have left you alone for so long.” T-This voice… t-t-this voice! My arms greedily move to wrap around the body of the person who’s holding me. I cling onto him tightly. 

    “Haha… don’t worry my girl/boy~. I’m not going anywhere else I promise. I’ll even lock myself in here with you if it makes you feel better.” 

Ranmaru Kurosaki:

    The cats aren’t him. They are just reminisces of his touches. Of where and what he used to be. I pet them in hopes to get some of his warmth, but it is gone. Not a trace of him left. I never thought I was a bad person to him. Didn’t I love him properly? Don’t I love his cats and take care of them while he’s away? 

    I bury my own face into the pillow, the pillow where he used to rest his head on. What if… he never comes back? What if he is so fed up with me that he doesn’t even want to see me anymore? Do I even want to see myself anymore? 

    The cat on the bed beside me moves. Even the cat doesn’t want to be beside me anymore. I hug his pillow close and sob to myself. Am I so worthless? Such a waste of space that not even a cat wants to be beside me anymore? There is a creak on the bed beside me. Is my mind playing tricks on me now too? Only for me to be disappointed in the end? 

    “Oi… aren’t you going to welcome me back?” I can feel my heartbeat stop for a moment at his words. Is it truly… him? I start to move my head up, only to shoot it back down. No, it can’t be. I’m just hurting myself by leaning into my tricks. 

    “Hey, look at me.” My body gets pulled up and I’m stuck looking into two different colored eyes. That are… so familiar… 

    “I’m right here. Look straight at me. I’m real aren’t I?” His words sound real? He seems real…? I move my hand to touch his face. Upon feeling the smooth flesh I burst out in tears of joy. I wrap my arms around him, and cry. That’s all I do. Cry.

    “It’s alright okay? I wasn’t going to leave ya or anything. That’s why the cats are here. To remind you of my return. So I’m here now. Don’t cry anymore alright?” 

Ai Mikaze: 

    I’ve been bad. Very very bad. That is why I’m stuck in here. I’ve really done something this time. I must be so so so worthless! I mean nothing to him! The love I gave him, the time we spent together. It all means nothing now right? Doesn’t my life now mean nothing? Am I… nothing? 

    The steaming tears burn down my face. A reminder that I’m here and mean nothing to him. I grasp onto the metal bars of the cage I was stuck in. He hates me, he absolutely must hate me. Why hasn’t he returned? Why did he leave me by myself for so long? 

    Is his security not telling him I am here? Did he stop watching me through his cameras? I can feel my body shake with every rapid thought tumbling through my head. He’s all I have left, and he left me. He just walked away and is he never to return again? 

    I wrap myself up tight into a fetal position. What is the point to me living if he isn’t here? If he doesn’t want me anymore? I silently let the tears continue to pour over and onto the metal floor. I become so trapped in my silence that I don’t hear the approaching footsteps.

    “(Y/N)...... (Y/N)....? (Y/N)?!” Distubred by a loud commotion I come back to my senses. The person in front of me holds me gently in their arms, stroking my hair ever so gently. When I can finally see through the tears, I find my special person. The one I thought had thrown me away. 

    “A-A-Ai?” I can barely breathe through the amount of joy and happiness I am feeling right now. I never thought I would feel so much joy. I have never felt this much happiness my whole life. 

    “(Y/N)... I won’t ever leave you alone again alright? I’ll take you with me wherever I go from now on. I’m sorry for leaving you like this.”

Camus:

    A heavy feeling lays on my chest. I feel ready to cry, but the tears don’t want to come out. I’m afraid that I won’t see my protector again, but I’m frozen to the spot. I feel the chains wrapped around my wrists and ankles. So cold, just like him. I bring them close to me. 

    If I die here, then that would be fine with me. Since he doesn’t need me anymore. The world doesn’t even need someone as weak and useless as me. I was always just a burden to him wasn’t I? Someone who couldn’t stand up for themself. Someone who had to hide in his shadow. 

    I am so useless. I could never help him out. He would always do everything. I was just a mold of something potential, but I never reached it. Even with his help, I was still always nothing. That’s why he left. He finally saw it. Saw how impossible I was. I just dragged him down and hurt him. 

    So it’s fine. To die here. Trapped inside these horrible memories of all my mistakes. It is what I deserve. I don’t deserve to be loved. I never did. That’s why he finally left. 

    “(Y/N). Listen to me when I talk to you.” A single tear, finally drops. I snap out of my thoughts to see my knight. Standing in all of his radiance. I try to stutter out his name but he shushes me. 

    “It’s alright. I shouldn't have left you alone for so long. Everything is going to be okay now, so no need to be scared.” He places a hand on my shoulder and I cautiously try to move to lean in.

Noticing my signals he puts both arms around me and pulls me in. 

    “Don’t be afraid. I’m here for you now. I won’t leave you. I need to be here to protect you don’t I? I love you more than anything.”

More Incubus AU Stuff

Okay, so I think I got everything I need down to a good enough knot.

Succubi also exist in this AU, but because UtaPri is mostly a male-centric(?) cast, it’s more focused on incubi and that stuff.

They have different classes that can be distinguished by their horns. I haven’t figured all that out yet, though ;w;

As well as the different varying horns, they also have a variety in tail sensitivity. Some have no effect, some find it ticklish, while others find it. . .

Like that. I guess. ‘^//////^

Some suc/incubi are more passive and cooperative while others are more aggressive and won’t be willing to hear you out. Some of them are patient and would wait for when you’re ready, but some would want to just do whatever already either because they want to get the job over with or they just enjoy it that much.

That being said, there are suc/incubi that get assigned humans to them to take care of. It’s only a one human per incubus rule, though. Very few oppose the idea. Sometimes, there’s a chance a suc/incubus won’t be assigned to a human. Despite that, they are free to roam Earth and do whatever they like.

There are times when an suc/incubus and their assigned human would fall in love. If they don’t want to leave each other, the two can agree to do a permanent assignment. This lets the human be permanently assigned to the suc/incubus on one cost: when they die they will be reincarnated as a(n) suc/incubus themselves. This can only be done if both the suc/incubus and human agree to this. If one opposes the idea, then it won’t be able to happen.

Some humans are labeled as untouchables. An untouchable is someone that suc/incubi see as not applicable to their system. This would include people under the age of 18, couples in relationships, and others who would fit the category of an untouchable.

Their Yandere Type (QUARTET NIGHT Edition!)

Reiji Kotobuki:

Reiji is a Obsessive, Protective and Delusional type.

Of course with the two of you being the closests and best of friends already it wasn’t odd for one of you to develop a crush on the other. Not only that but despite all of your refusals and talk of wanting to stay friends, you thought that you finally reached him and convinced him. Too bad that you were wrong though. No instead he continued to talk about you passionately to his group members. Talking nonstop about how much you loved and cared about him, how you were the only one that felt this way about him.

It ended up getting so bad that he actually started calling you his girlfriend in front of others. Oh, and he also made sure you went to him for every problem you had. We don’t need a repeat of what happened to that other friend the both of you had. Some nights Reiji gets so anxious that you may try to do the same thing and he won’t be there to guide you away from that fate, making him stay by your side until that feeling passes. Protecting you and always making sure you stay happy, even if it costs him his mental health and happiness.

Yet, aren’t you the one who always makes him happy in the end anyways? I wouldn’t be surprised if that sad face you always pull ends up looking like tears of happiness in his eyes.

Reiji almost lost someone very important to him long ago and blames himself constantly for it. ...This time he’ll make sure that someone important like you never leaves him.

Ranmaru Kurosaki:

Ranmaru is a Possessive type.

It’s cute when two lovers hold onto each other to signify who they belong to. What happens if in reality that hold is actually a chain to keep you in place? To keep you by that person’s side forever? After losing so much in his life he could never let you go again. Though, at least you have plenty of cats to talk to while your locked up right?

Those cats are around you so much that they probably love you just as much as he does. At least if they did then they don’t show it. Honestly at first it surprised you. To see him getting much more warmer and closer to you. It was sincerely cute back then.

Though now you can’t help but to hate it. To want to get away. To want your freedom back. Yet he’ll probably just tell you that he’s all the freedom you need.

To see his family crumble into debt by a trusted family friend. Then to see everyone of his band members vanish from his side. It was all too much to bear. So now he’ll make sure you can never leave him.

Ai Mikaze:

Ai is a Stalker and Delusional type.

As soon as he opened his eyes for the first time he was interested in you. Not romantically, but as a trusted friend and someone to find comfort in. It was years later until he decided that he now feels this word called “love” for you. Being out of contact with you for so long only made him want to know more and more about you. Soon his hobby of people watching turned into a hobby of person watching.

He asked you about this feeling only for you to answer vaguely. Yet with each passing moment he needed more and more. He came to his own conclusion that this was love, and that you felt the same. I mean, you probably only answered vaguely because you were too shy to admit that you felt the same right?

So instead of putting logic behind it he decided that he wanted to learn more about this feeling, one on one with you. Of course he had to get closer to you first, closer than how you two already were.

Ai, being a robot, doesn’t know how to love. All he can do is observe and learn from people. Love though… Was something he learned from you, by watching and observing you.

Camus:

Camus is a Manipulative, Protective, and Sadistic type.

With you constantly talking about how rude he was and continuously yelling at him to be genuinely nicer to people, it wasn’t odd for him to finally fall for your charms. Though something he found annoying in you, he quickly disregarded that for how confident you were in nature. You never once let anyone drag you down and he always found you standing up for either yourself or the weak. You always did utter your disgust towards the man. Always trying to stay away from him as possible.

That turned into a hard task as soon as he saw you fit to be a Queen. That was when his inner knight broke out, swearing to you that he will always be by your side ready to serve and be your shield. Also, don’t think that your confident nature would last long as soon as he turned into this. Oh, instead he would find ways and say words to make you feel weak, powerless until you were nothing but a fragil, destroyed shell. He would make sure you would beg for his protection, and to make you feel the pain he felt when you spoke awful things from those pretty lips.

He’d make sure you were at your lowest, vulnerable and toy with your feelings over and over again. He’d force you outside without him making you feel hopeless and scared for your life. He’d made sure that no one else could ever take place in that heart of yours, by mentally ingraining himself in your mind, to be your one and only knight, your shield of protection to be yourself.

Always being the shield of the Permafrost Queen made him want to protect the people he loves dearly. With you, he always made sure that you knew this, by him always being your shield, by making you feel like you would die without him.
