today was pretty good and i was talking w/ my dad and he’s usually pretty chill abt everything, so when i was running out of convo topics i just hadddd to open my mouth and start yapping 😭😭😭😭

earlier me and my friends were hanging out in class and as a joke one of them pulled a chair out from under me and i hit my head on a table (he wasn’t expecting me to actually fall or anything) and even i thought it was funny bc i wasnt that hurt and we usually goof off like that

it was all good and he apologized and it wasnt a big deal, but i got a small bruise lump thing on my head. Later, i was talking with my dad and having a friendly convo and i mentioned it lightly, but he got like concerned and stuff and bc i KNOW a lecture was coming i backed off and stopped explaining bc ik i can yap but GOTDAMNNN my dad can lecture me abt literally anything for hours

(context im transmasc and not out to my family yet) he was all like “thats usually how boys r to other boys and not to girls bc girls are usually smaller and lighter and weaker” like omfg stfuuuu “u hang around boys a lot but it seems like u dont know the boys rules 🤓 u gotta draw the line and not let anyone do that to u. If your friend was joking around like that it means hes rlly immature 🤓thats so dangerous did u know that ppl can die from that”

YEAH I DID KNOW IT COULD BE DANGEROUS but it wasnt serious! like im not stupid, i can read the room! If my friend was being actually mean and dumb i wouldve drawn the line but it was literally a joke gone somewhat wrong, he apologized n we laughed it off bc i wasnt injured!! I literally have been out as a guy to all my friends and they all see me as one and therefore treat me as one, but i cant tell my dad that ughhhh he keeps “reminding” me that girls are weaker than boys and shit ooourghhhdhfhjfjh im gonna corn on the kill myself

like yeah i get why hed be concerned but it was literally just me n my friends goofing off, and i tried to explain that but i couldn’t be 100% honest and maybe he could tell and he thought i was getting bullied or smth??? But damnn this always happensss

i try to have a goofy convo abt my day and he turns it into a lecture abt my future, safety, politics, or whatever omg like can u not???? we were literally having fun and then all of a sudden the whole dinner is awkward af

sorry for the rant its just that this lowkey reminded me of how none of my family actually sees me as a guy. odydidjdhkdkedidufj the only silver lining i can see is that my dad basically confirmed that my friends treat me as a dude 💀 but fr it rlly sucks that i cant speak openly around my family. Its like whiplash when i suddenly remember that oops, gotta keep like half my life a secret and i cant explain most of the fun stuff that happens in my life without accidentally outing myselffff

Fantasy Romance Thoughts: Twilight

Yeah, I went here. I know, I know. But I needed to do it. We all know where this one slots itself in, so here’s my second “bad” fantasy. well, just bad. We know it’s bad.

Who is in love? Bella and Edward How much time? Most of the movie. Happy Ending? Yes Plot Focus? Absolutely. How much lead up? I distinctly remember there being a lot more, but there isn’t! They hang out a lot and they spend a lot of time together but it’s distinctly not romantic until she finds out he’s a vampire. The closest you get to lead up is them having dinner together, but even still theere wasn’t much to work with. It was like going from one date to being totally cool with dating aserial killer. It escalated much more quickly than I remember. Were you into it? Not even when I was a fan of the books did I ship this How was it integrated? This was the plot, it’s a romance movie. He falls in love with her and then has to save her when other vamps come after her. It was integrated in the beinning weirdly tough, because they spent time together and became closer, but there wasn’t a lot of romance, except for a long look when he saves her life the first time and the hand touch. But that’s about it. It’s strange how quickly it escalates. Was it distracting? The romance itself isn’t distracting, because it is the movie, but the movie is also like, ridiculously annoying in the way it goes about the romance, and those moments stic out like a sore thumb. Kiss? Yes Sex? No-that would be unChristian of them. Annoyance Level: 10. So much of this pisses me off. Rating: I want to rate this higher because I remember a time when I liked them, but I think even when I liked twilight I knew this movie was shite, so I’m giving it a 2.  And that’s generous. Thoughts: Full Disclosure, I really liked these books for a while. Didn’t last long, but I did. Lol remember that Parks and rec episode where they watched this movie? Also has a good score. And soundtrack. I legit even had a flute book dedicated to this soundtrack. And it was AWESOME. Charlie is my actual fave. “oh right, one bathroom” is such a weird line. Also the sales lady picked out the bed stuff but what about all the decorations lining the walls? Yeah tones of voice here, so weird. So is this scene, since they used to play together but he introduces himself? Wouldn’t you say “sorry to be weird, but do you remember me?” the convo between the dads is low key the best part of this. Also why’d she ask which one’s the clutch??? Also remember in the books where Eric kind of disappears and is replaced with some dude called Ben? Did they segregate gym class??? Omg Anna Kendrick, sometimes I wonder if she gets to forget about this movie, even she isn’t great in this. “Oh my god Karen you can’t just ask people why they’re white” This laughing thing is like the most cringey thing ever. This whole discussion about the legality of the Cullens’ relationships is so real. I just have to say, Jessica and Angela are the most natural people right now but Bella’s being so WEIRD! Sometimes I wonder how I missed some of this. His reaction to her “scent” is just really hard to watch. LOL OMG HE’S JUST STARING AT HER. Now he’s being unnecessarily rude. This movie has over 40%, but right now I”m just laughing. Wait, why was she in there? Lol “one year”, I totally remember you from years ago while I thought you were someone else. OMG OF COURSE SHE REMEMBERS HER FAVOURITE?? she throws her homework away dramatically while no-one can see her do it then insists she has homework. Why would you ask someone you don’t know why they were gone? And again, why is that weird? And again, sh’es 17, what makes him think it was her choice to move? I mean it was, but why would he know that? And why would she notice his eyes? I have to stop talking. He’s just watching her…saves her life, has his arm around her, long look in each other’s eyes. I LOVE charlie! So her reaction to this is fair. She’s right ttto be suspicious of what happened. But why would she be suspicious of Carlisle? She doesn’t know him, she has no reason to believe something’s up with the family right now…Ok this conversation makes no sense. Again, her reaction to this is warranted. and props to him he’s playing this off so well. But it went from “I know what I saw, you were by your car” to randomly “I know what I saw you stopped the van”. And he just got REAL aggressive. And he was doing so well until then! He could have just kept on the whole denial thing and he wouldve gotten away with it! He distracts her and they super obviously stare at each other. Weirdly natural conversation, he just says “it’s what’s best”, and it go tweird again. “We shouldn’t be friends” what an awkward conversation starter, they don’t need to be friends…Yeah his flip flopping is weird. If you were samrt you’d stay away from me, I definitely would because that’s such a weird thing to say out of the blue. And how would she know he’s not the villain? God what a weird response! She is flirting HARD with him. Like way more than with Edward. Saves her again, scares rapists off with a look that’s definitely not that scary. Nearly running them over immediately would have been much less effective. He’s furious with the guys (obvi) like, violently. Where would she have gone? Why is she so cool with him following her?? “money sex money sex cat” was my favourite thing once. Valid quesiton edward, yeah his dialogue is creepy…She has such a weird reaction to that meet cute hand touch…Wait why were those flashbacks a thing again? Oh, cos he’s dead? Then why was there a closeup on his eye? Dead people don’t have gold eyes…Be real. Anyone else in that situation would NOT assume vampires are real. The way this scene is shot is so weird, it makes me sick. She’s not afraid of him for some reason, she insists he won’t hurt her, even though he actually wnats to kill her, and he wants to protect her but he carries her on his back. Wait, hang on was a romance ever a thing? Why doens’t she care, I thought they were friends? I’ve never noticed it, but this is so random! WHY DO YOU TRUST HIM? You’re literally trapping her? WHY? THIS MAKES NO SENSE??? THEY BARELY KNOW EACH OTHER??/ Is it because like he said that she draws her in? then isn’t it like date rape? What are the rules here? Also shouldn’t you be in school? God there’s so much of this movie left. Bonding over music and awkward dancing, and he takes her for an adventure in the trees. I’m sorry I know this is done to death but this is CREEPY! He’s watching her sleep! They kiss, and she begs him to stay and watch her sleep some more. So I know this scene is nototriously dumb but I actually really like it. Until the other vamps come, except for rosalie, it’s the only scene where everyone seems to be relaxed and not super uptight. The acting (for the most part) doesn’t suck here. He’s incredibly protective of her with the other vamps, they all are. That’s the second time they’ve said “rip them apart and burn the pieces” THEY JUST MET! And on top of that, rosalie was protecting her earlier, now she’s reluctant?? She’s part of the family, she’s his life now, WHY?? He omes to save her, and then sucks the venom out of her to make the pain go away? I guess? What are these images? She freaks out when he tells her to go to Jacksonville, saying  you can’t leave me, we can’t be apart. Why do you already hate each other? You don’t kow about the vamps/werewolves yet…May I remeind everyone, they just met. And she wants to become an actual vampire to be with him forever. And he fakes her out in my least favourite moment.

soooo we watched more! woohoo

we finished the hunter exam arc???? i THNK? lmaoooo at the end of the ep (21 i thiiiiink) we were on, satotz was like BUT THE HUNTER EXAM ISNT EVEN OVER YET or w/e lol aigh??? whats up w/that

anyways a lot happened in the last few eps that we watched....man i shouldve written this earlier but i litrelly havent been online. anyways

so during the hunter exam stage 4...gon is literally perfect (as i always have to say), him reuniting w/leorio and kurapika was rlly sweet :’) 

of course he immediately offered to help....goodest boy 

and wow that kid has such a powerful nose bvhjksfbjsk he rlly be a gr8 sniffer 

ok literally the part where leorio was in the cave and was like GON KURAPIKA DONT COME IN HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and they both full speed sprint into the cave with 0 hesitation.....we love a 0 brain cells family 

i love leorio so much he really just b running around w/a switchblade and a breifcase, both of which he barely used during the exam lmao

so bummed that leorio slicing up tht snake happened offscreen. how tf did that even work, he doesnt have a goddamn sword

gon just being able to hold his breath for almost 10 mins makes so much sense somehow...he rlly is one of those shounen protags who is just casually a ridiculous human being and doesnt even fully realize that its weird 

that shot of him carrying everyone out of the cave was so sweet

and of course gon vs snakes....hes so perfect....he trusts his friends so much :’) 

also random aside but im so glad tonpa is out and idk if i talked abt this in my prev post but i feel like in most shounen he wouldve been like, so inspired by gons shounen protag energy that he wouldve changed his tune and taken the exam genuinely and either passed or declared that hed definitely pass next year - but no, he was awful til the end, this aint that kind of story (yet...?) 

have i mentioned that i hate hisoka? cause i hate hisoka. nasty ass crusty clown bitch 

what else happened in the phase 4 stuff. oh yeah killua clowned on those triplet dudes (and hanzo lowkey), which was great

ok the opening not having changed this whole time is so funny. imagine if it never changed and its still basic and cheery when everything gets crazy and dark lmao 

ooh my god i forgot to mention this last time but i feel like gons backpack is full of hair gel and hair gel ONLY, he only brought hair gel and his fishing rod. this is canon ty 

oh gosh when killua and gon reunited at the end of the 4th stage....OOOUGH so precious...those two are so cute god. i want a compilation of their cute moments together i hope that exists 

GOD OH FUCK the scene on the airship where kurapika and gon talked bc gon was clearly bothered by something (what happened w/hisoka obvs. i hate that clown bitch) and OUGHHHH OH GOD gon crying LICHRALLY killed me oh man :( i was literally just chanting NO NO NO!!!! at the TV cause seeing tiny baby boy upset was so sad....and ik it gets soooo much worse oh god i cant handle it 

the whole convo was really good and really anti-shounen (once again...feel like thatll be a theme lmao) bc like, it was a healthy convo where gon talked honestly abt his feelings instead of using some shounen protag BS phrases like ‘it doesnt matter!!! ill be stronger next time!!!’ or w/e....and kurapika is a such a good parent oh man :( 

again, cant get over how genuine and uncomplicated the teamup of the main 4 characters has been....literally no ‘we’re competing and only teaming up for convenience/the hunter exam comes before our friendship’ nonsense

the interviews w/the candidates was interesting! i love how the old dude was SO not picking up what Creepy Hisoka was putting down lmaooooo

that poor old guy lmao he seems like a decent dude, he was like oh i dont wanna fight gon and killua cause theyre kids,....RIP u red shirt legend 

the bracket setup was so interesting oh man....very funky and creative. and then it wasnt really fully utilized lol, i feel like thats indicative of a bigger patten - hxh so far has been really creative and interesting, and clearly uninterested in setting things up simply to check off boxes on a shounen tropes checklist....i can already see what makes it so great if this keeps up bc daym, so many shounen have their interesting themes drowned out by the overwhelming necessity for the plot to hit certain shounen story beats, smothering otherwise new/fresh ideas and rerouting them back into the same old over-trodden shounen trope territory 

on a meta level, i wonder if the author was like, allowed more leniency (’do whatever bro’) bc hed already been successful w/yu yu hakusho. i havent seen/ready yyh so idk how ‘typically shounen’ it is but thats st that im curious about 

aaanyways. the tournament starts w/hanzo beating up gon for THREE HOURS STRAIGHT. jesus dude. so yeah obviously leorio and kurapika are the best parents ever and them getting so righteously angry over seeing this happen to gon is so heartwarming and good and also a big big mood 

they love their son okay. also that was fucked up. ALSO i find it interesting that thats only the second time we’ve seen kurapikas eyes turn red 

i bet that hisoka saw that also and somethign something phantom troupe, see bottom of post in predictions section 

seeing gon get beat up like that made my heart hurt :( especially when hanzo broke his arm...oof. 

god also i cant believe hanzo is 18 hes literally bald hvbhjafbjs whats w/hxh and making everyone a teen or younger lmao god 

also omfg i love that leorio and kurapika are lichreally 19 and already have kids wow thats amazing especially considering their kids are 12. its so funny that theyre such Parents already considering that the age gap is kinda hilariously small, espec bc i thought that they (mostly leorio) were a lot older at first lmao 

the fact that gon gets to win that fight against hanzo was a legit shock to me....again, anti-shounen. we’d normally want to see what our protag can do in a fight - espec in a tournament-style arc where the consequences arent as high typically - so we’d want him to go further, which is easy here bc to move on he has to lose, which is easy bc gon is a baby w/no offensive capabilities (that we’ve seen)

god ive talked abt this already but its so fascinating how we havent really had any full-on fights???? espec w/the main 4 characters????? we still barely know what they can do....WE STILL HAVENT BEEN INTRODUCED TO NEN???? 

ive been spoiled (i guess?) to the existence of nen but thats abt it. what can it do? what is it? fuck if i know lmao. so i could totally see them pulling a ‘we were using nen the whole time’ w/like hisoka or st, OR a ‘YOU were using nen the whole time w/out realizing it’ w/gon

ok anyways. that hanzo fight was rough but also gon is literally the best. he was trying to bargain w/hanzo to figure out a way where they could come to a conclusion that would satisfy them both - despite hanzo clearly outmatching gon in skill, so the effort on hanzo’s part would be pointless and simply for gon’s benefit....basically the entire proposal sound ludicris and insulting to suggest (or st, idk how to phrase it), but since its gon of COURSE he only has the purest of intentions and means it so genuinely that you cant even be mad at him 

hanzo just knocking him out lmaoooo and then hes just out for the rest of the tournament???? thats so wild and...whatdya know....un-shounen!

also the whole convo he and satotz had abt gon’s victory and hunter license and earning/deserving it was so good :’) 

also i feel like the show did a good job of humanizing characters like satotz. i legit thought he was a robot or st at first but it feels more like hes just A Guy now,....albeit a weird guy, but thats to be expected. its like, yeah this guy also took the hunter exam at one point, wow.

anways this is already long and i havent even gotten to the killua stuff yet lol so im gonna stop here for now. and introducing a new segment..........the prediction corner! where i dump my speculations/predictions, entirely for my future self’s benefit 

PREDICTIONS: 

first off as i alluded to above, i think that hisoka has some sort of connection to the phantom troupe (does he know them? maybe not, but he knows where to find them? idk) and when he saw kurapikas red eyes, was able to figure out that whole deal and said st to kurapika during that fight like ‘hey i can help you find the phantom troupe if you want :))))’ 

i kinda said this earlier but i predict that kurapika might get really wrapped up in revenge and go off the rails a bit. we’ll see, so far that hasnt really happened, but for some reason i kinda think that it will? we’ll see

i (incorrectly) predicted that killua would have known that illumi was there the whole time, considering that he was able to noticing the hunter exam dudes following him in phase 4, etc....but BOY was i wrong about that oof 

iiii think that the whole ‘the hunter exam isnt over yet!!!’ stuff will be an opportunity for killua to pass this year still, maybe? idk abt that tho
