Sweet Sweet Hunger - Chapter 1
Location: Seisou Hall Common Room Characters: Mitsuru, Nagisa & Niki Season: Autumn Writer: Mai Nishioka
TL Note:
Wagashi is traditional Japanese sweets that have red bean paste and are often served with green tea.
This is a method used to cut daifuku (rice cake stuffed with fruits or paste). You can view this video (link here) for a better idea how it’s done.
Amanatto/candied natto are beans covered in sugar syrup. Its name is derived from natto (Japanese fermented soybeans) as they look similar.
Momotarou (often translated as Peach Boy) is a traditional Japanese folktale and talks about a boy who is born from a giant peach and goes on a journey to defeat the demons marauding the land he lives in. He befriends three animals along the way by giving them food.

Niki: *Munch munch…*
! Mmm! This cake is absolutely delicious~♪
Let’s see… The sponge cake is fluffy and just melts in my mouth. It’s also been soaked in a Western liquor and it brings out the flavour of the fruits… There.
Alright, next! I’ve been eating cake after cake so maybe I’ll have some wagashi[1] next.
Eeny meeny miny moe~... alright. I choose you~♪
Oho? I’m supposed to cut this strawberry daifuku with a string[2], right?
I see… I can cut it without destroying the fruit inside and it makes a pretty cross-section too.
This earns more points~ Visuals are important when it comes to food. Only the best chefs are picky about plating.
Alright, time for a bite… *Munch, munch*
! Is this really rice cake?
It’s delicious and melts in the mouth right away…♪ The red bean paste is light and smooth. It's as if I took a bite of a celestial maiden’s robe!
I need to note this down…
What should I pick next?
Mitsuru: *Sniff sniff* I can smell something nice over there~ It’s calling me over…♪
Niki: Ahh–
Mitsuru: Ah! Shiina-senpai’s eating a mountain of desserts!
Niki: Hmm? *Munch munch… gulp* Oh, Tenma-kun. What’re you doing here?
Mitsuru: I smelled something good after coming down to the first floor and ended up here after following the scent, y’know!
Niki: Huh? Smell? You’ve got the nose of a dog, Tenma-kun~ You might make a good chef if you’ve got such a keen nose.
Mitsuru: What~? No, I prefer eating, y’know! So I’d rather be an eating specialist!
Shiina-senpai, you’re so lucky~! You’ve got so many desserts in front of you. That’s something I’d be seeing in my dreams, y’know? *Drool* ♪
Niki: Oh. Do you wanna join me? I’ve finished tasting the ones over there, so you’re free to have them.
Mitsuru: Oh, are you sure!? I wanna eat them!
…Hm? But what do you mean by taste? Why’re you doing something like that? It’s a waste to just taste it and not finish them, y’know?
Niki: No no! I wouldn’t do something like that! I would’ve still taken responsibility to eat them all even if you didn’t come along, Tenma-kun.
I was just trying not to fill myself up too quickly. This is my little tasting event that’s both beneficial to me and also something I enjoy doing.
Mitsuru: Tasting event?
Niki: Yup. I have a blog where I post food and dessert reviews and I’ve been getting a lot of views recently~
I figured I should post more often, so I decided to hold a tasting event where I taste everything all at once.
Mitsuru: Oh! I know about that! Your blog is called “Hearty Appetite All Year Round”, right?
I’ve read it too~! All the food you recommend looks delicious, so it’s so much fun reading it, y’know? ♪
Niki: Ohh~ You’ve read my blog? I’m flattered ♪
Well, anyway, that’s why I’m trying out all these desserts. I’ve prepared a lot, so you’re welcome to eat them once I’ve finished tasting them.
I’ve been thinking recently that it’s pretty nice to share and eat them with someone else.
Mitsuru: Yaaaay ♪ Thanks a bunch, Shiina-senpai!
Niki: Don’t mention it. I’m an adult now too~ I have no issues sharing my food.
I’ve been feeling less stressed mentally and stomach-wise now that my food expenses are balanced. So this is what it means to become an adult, huh…
Mitsuru: Ahaha, you’re so weird~ I don’t understand what you’re saying, Shiina-senpai!
Alrighty, I’m gonna try this one ♪ *Munch munch*
Mmm~!? What the–!? I’ve never had anything so good! It’s fluffy and tastes expensive, y’know~!
Niki: Right~? But these madeleines weren’t actually that expensive.
Madeleines were originally pretty well-known amongst the locals here, but its popularity suddenly skyrocketed throughout the entire country last night.
Mitsuru: Really~? If they’re cheap, I’d love to have heaps more, y’know!
Hm? Hey, Shiina-senpai. What’s that? Candied natto[3]?
Niki: Oh, good eye, Tenma-kun~! Didn’t think that would catch your eye.
This is something that’s only available over the counter and on their online store~
They’re almonds that are coated with coffee and fresh cream.
Mitsuru: Hmm? Coffee? I don’t think I like bitter stuff.
Niki: It’s not bitter at all~ There’s not much of a coffee flavour to it…
There’s a slight bitterness and it goes perfectly with the sweetness. You won’t be able to stop once you try one~!
Mitsuru: Now I’m starting to get excited, y’know! I’ll give it a try~!
Nagisa: …You two look like you’re enjoying yourselves. Having a little dessert party?
Niki: Oh, Ran-kun. Hey, there.
I’m trying out a whole bunch of different desserts for my food blog.
Tenma-kun came along since he smelled them and now we’re eating them together.
Mitsuru: Yeah! I’ve become buddies with Shiina-senpai and we’re eating desserts together, y’know!
Nagisa: …Hehe. Seeing you befriend each other over food is just like the scene from the Momotarou[4] story.
…Your food blog is pretty popular, Niki-kun. Ibara has told me he reads it.
Niki: Wow, the Vice President reads my blog? That’s a surprise~ I didn’t think he’d be interested in food.
Nagisa: …Yeah. I don’t think he reads it as a hobby but rather, he uses it as reference when purchasing gifts for others.
Niki: Oh, that makes sense. Come to think of it, I’ve got a lot of comments that say something similar.
Nagisa: …Hmm. You’re having a tasting event? There are so many desserts in front of you.
…Hm? You have so many but you don’t have “tiantian” that’s trending right now?
Niki: “T–Tiantian”...?

Rules
Just a heads up, I am in no way caught up with the anime or up to date on the games. So a lot of my portayal will be researched or headcanon based.
No godmodding.
This blog is 21+ only. Adult/dark/nsfw themes may be present. Mun is 30+ and does not feel comfortable interacting with minors under any circumstances. If you lie about your age you will be blocked.
Highly selective and mutuals only. Meaning I will only rp if we are following each other. This is mainly to keep my sanity in check. I have anxiety issues and have had bad experiences in the past with non mutuals. That being said, non mutuals can still send in asks, but all I ask is that you do not try to get around this by using anon. I enjoy getting anons. Don’t get me wrong, but if you’re trying to get around my rules this way then it makes me want to interact less.
For multi-muse blogs, I may not follow back because you may have muses from other Fandoms that I’m either not part of or familiar with. I am very picky about my dash, but if you have a muse I am interested in interacting with then I will make an exception.
Please be patient with me. I work a full time job and don’t always have the muse to be online every day. So replies most likely will not happen super quickly.
I do not practice reblog karma, but I do prefer that memes be reblogged from the source. It can sometimes be a downer if you reblog a meme, get several notifications, only to see that its just others reblogging from you. Especially if we are not mutuals. Doing this persistently will result in a block.
Please do not reblog rp threads if you are not involved in them. It’s ok to leave likes, but if you reblog them I will not hesitate to block.
Personal/non-rp blogs are ok, for now. All I ask is that you do not reblog any of my headcanons, in character, or ooc posts. Doing so will get you blocked with no warnings. This will also include spam liking and reblogging persistently from me. It clutters up my notifications and makes it difficult for me to keep track of stuff I may owe for replies.
If you rp on a sideblog, please let me know or have it stated somewhere on your blog.
With all of the bot stuff that’s been going on, if you follow me, but have nothing on your blog, no icon, description, or anything, then I will automatically block. Even if you are not a bot, I have no way of actually knowing this is the case. Especially if there is zero info whatsoever.
There are a lot of fandoms out there that I’m not familiar with, but I do have a few that I WILL NOT interact with. This includes anything that is Disney, Nickelodeon, or Harry Potter related. While I am familiar with a few things, it’s just not my thing. And I would just prefer not to. There are some fandoms that I don’t mind reading into a little bit if I’m interested in interacting with a certain muse, but please respect that at least these are a hard no for me.
As far as triggers go, I don’t really have any major ones, but I do understand that most do. I will do my best to tag things as appropriately as I can. If something isn’t tagged that I missed, feel free to let me know.
DMs are preferably used for ooc talk and plotting. I would prefer not to rp this way, if possible. I do, however, have a discord if anyone wishes to rp there instead. Just shoot me a DM and I’ll give you my info. Just bear in mind that I’m not always super active on discord, but I will do my best to keep track of things.
I will do my best to match your length of replies. I am not against small replies or one liners, but I do at least ask that there’s enough for me to get a good sense of what’s going on.
If you wish to continue from an ask, I am most likely down for it! If you reblog one of my ask replies with a response, I will most likely move it to a new post and tag you after that.
AU/OC/Crossover friendly. I am very much for interacting with all three. For OC’s (or any rp blog in general), I would prefer there to be a background and info to go off of. If there’s not, then I may not be interested in interacting.
Duplicate friendly because there's different interpretations and I'm here for all of it! As far as other Kojiro/James muses go, I'm also all for it, but I do understand that it's not everyone's thing (I have dealt with negative stuff in another fandom regarding this aspect and I definitely get the reluctance). So just know that I don't harbor any hard feelings over it.
Shipping and relationships. Be it romance, platonic, etc., I am down for it. Though, for romantic relationships, I do prefer a bit of chemistry unless discussed otherwise beforehand.
Finally, rac.ism, inc.est, ped.ophelia, pol.itics, downright hate in general are a hard NO. I don't want any part of it and I will not hesitate to block. If I receive anon hate, I will not address it and simply delete. I will not feed into the negativity.
Brief mun info
Zorra Lynn, 37, she/her, GMT-6, married with 2 cats (Chewy and Momo), suffers from anxiety/depression, half Indigenous (Muscogee/Creek), pharmacy clerk.
I am also the mun of Astarion @fcllxn-stcr of Baldur's Gate 3 and Hanzo Shimada @brxken-arrxw of Overwatch (which isn't active at this time).

How Does Eating Humans Work?
Hello, Gotou here. We’re shamelessly borrowing from the format of a KnY Fanbook #2 comic to launch an investigation into demon metabolism and development by crossing the Sanzu River again to interview demons in the underworld. While we’ll be using canon materials as a base, the analysis and conjecture herein is personal, so we ask for your understanding. Also, please note that consuming any food in the underworld will make you unable to return, and we cannot promise your safety even though the interview subjects are dead, so please come along at your own risk.
Tumblr media
Some of the questions we’d like to answer are, why do demons need to eat humans? How much do they need to eat to survive? Are there factors that influence how eating humans makes them stronger? If they don’t want to kill humans, what are their other options? We’ve rounded up some special guests below the cut (hidden for length and grossness), everyone from the lowly Temple Demon to the lovely Tamayo, to see what their actions in canon might tell us.
First, a review of what canon tells us, mostly as summarized in Fanbook #2: 1. With one exception named Yushirou, all demons were created by Kibutsuji Muzan, for his own purposes. They all have some amount of his blood, and can be divided into four classes depending on how powerful they are. From top to bottom, the Upper Moons, the Lower Moons, demons with special abilities, and other demons without any special characteristics. 2. Demons may be stronger depending on how much of Kibutsuji Muzan’s blood they have. Most beings’ cannot handle a large amount of his blood, and it will rupture the cells and that being will die, but there are demons who adapt well to it. 3. Typically, sunlight is the only way to kill a demon, by either bathing them in sunlight or cutting of their head with a Nichirin blade. However, there are powerful demons for whom chopping off their head does not work, and if it’s strong enough, demons can also be killed by wisteria poison.
4. Demons eat human blood and flesh. The more they eat, the stronger they become, and the faster their regenerative abilities become. Some humans have “Marechi,” a rare blood type, which is especially nutritious to demons, and eating one Marechi is the equivalent of eating several humans.
That’s an interesting thing we’d like to come back to, especially since we’re looking for quantitative information about how demons gain nutrition (though I have my doubts we'll get enough for statistical analysis). As an interesting note, Fanbook #2 also tells us that if demons try to consume the same edibles humans do, they’ll vomit it back up.
I’m told that Miss Tamayo drinks tea, though. That’ll be an interesting question for later. In my notes, it seems she’s also explained to Tanjirou back in Chapter 15 that demons will normally go berserk if they go a long time without consuming any blood or flesh. Berserk is one thing, but I wonder if they can starve to death? We’ll see if these canon clues will lead us to anything. We’ll begin now in an interview format. Hopefully this will go smoothly, but I’ve got a feeling it won’t. First up, we’ve the Temple Demon.
Temple: Who were you calling ‘lowly’ just now? Up there, above the cut?
Gotou: That was in a literal sense, not having Blood Techniques means you’re in the bottom common tier of demons.
Temple: Argh. Fine. What do you want to know?
Gotou: In Chapter 2, you were spotted with three human victims. However, it seems you left their bodies mostly intact and only ate small parts instead of consuming one full human at a time. Could you comment on this?
Tumblr media
Temple: I’d have gotten to more later if that whelp with the strong legs didn’t interrupt me! Who’s got time to eat entire humans anyway? I went for the easy stuff first.
Gotou: I see. It appears you might had focused on key organs, like the heart and the liver. Would you say these are especially nutritionally dense?
Temple: I guess. If I’m going to eat humans, I’m going to start with what’s worth bothering to digest. Blood’s easier on the stomach, so that’s what I was busy with on the lady there.
Gotou: Then it takes effort to digest? Hmm. Let’s come back to this later. How many humans would you say you consumed, including these three?
Temple: Not a lot… I tried to get a variety so I could get stronger faster, but…
Gotou: I’ll put down a guess as ten or less. Let’s move on to someone who has a sharper memory for numbers. One of our longer-lived guests at Mt. Fujikasane for 47 years, the Hand Demon. While most of the demons on the mountain had only eaten two or three humans, you’ve eaten a whole 50 of the children who headed into the Final Selection, didn’t you?
Hand: Yes, that’s right. It was hard at first since I wasn’t very strong, and the demons usually all went crazy there eating each other, just like that one brat who got away in Chapter 7 said. If you could manage to kill any of the kids, you had the other demons to fight off to even get a piece to yourself. That was enough to get me by, and stronger, little by little. Your body learns to make your meals last, and make the most of what you can get. I usually only had a bite of one child a year, can you imagine how horrible that was? Most demons who survive usually figure out some way to develop and survive better, and once my cells found something that worked for me, I kept doing it. I got really good at snatching away prey from other demons, and soon enough I was a bigger threat than any of them. None of them could, you might say, lay a hand on me.
Gotou: That’s an interesting point about self-development. A demon named Nezuko was spent two years doing that in her sleep.
Hand: She must have had a big meal before that!
Gotou: Well, anyway. It seems that in near starving conditions, your metabolism made the most of what you had, leading to the most efficient use of whatever food was available to you.
Hand: That’s right, I got really good at it. Wasn’t always pretty, but I made it work. I got to a point where I could go two years without eating and still keep my wits about me while the other demons were going mad. But I chose to eat. I liked to keep my appetite for specific children.
Gotou: That smile is not reassuring. Some humans taste better than others, I guess?
Hand: That’s for sure. This one kid tasted awful, like rust and man sweat! I still don’t have that disgusting taste out of my mouth! But he was one of my more satisfying meals, so I ate more of him.
Gotou: Then why would you… nevermind, I don’t like that smile, no further questions. While I had hoped to keep these interviews focused on quantities of humans consumed, it does seem personal taste is worth asking about. I had tried to invite a Swamp Demon from Chapter 11, but it kept arguing with itself and it felt like I’d be wasting my time. The one definite thing I learned was that this demon is picky, with a distinct preference for 16-year-old girls. Based on the number of trinkets he kept, it seems he had consumed at least seventeen of them, including several in one town. Sheesh, that’s sort of a rough mission to send a first-timer on. I’ve got a more cooperative guest here to discuss her tastes, a Snake Demon who, according to Chapter 188, has a special taste for baby flesh.
Tumblr media
Snake: Thank you for having me here. It’s good to be appreciated again.
Gotou: Did you only eat babies?
Snake: Goodness, no. Babies are delicious, but they aren’t very nutritious. And their skulls certainly aren’t that big, the ones I lounged around with were from the people whom I killed and stole from. But you know the nice thing about baby skulls? They’re still soft. They take a long time to digest, but I can swallow them whole.
Gotou: Like… like a snake, then. Sorry, I’m a little ill hearing that. Let’s back up, were all those skulls the remains of adults you ate, then?
Snake: Meh, I ate some of them of better-looking ones, but most of them I only killed. I could usually kill a lot more at a time than I could bother eating, my killing record was fifty women all at once.
Gotou: And you didn’t find that wasteful?
Snake: Wasteful? Not at all. I wasn’t exactly in dire straits, I lived a more luxurious life than most demons do. That meant I could afford to wait for a truly delicious meal, like how you humans might leave something in a slow-cooker to enjoy the perfect combination of doneness and tenderness, plated in the most appetizing of ways.
Gotou: I guess demons and humans are similar in that regard.
Snake: I’m so glad you can relate! Then you understand the frustration of a meal you’ve be preparing for years opening up the slow-cooker and running away right when they were just about done.
Gotou: I have never had that experience.
Snake: I’ll get you, my pretty. And your little snake, too.
Gotou: I think we might have gotten a little off-topic here. It does seem digesting humans comes with some difficulty. I’d like to invite the Drum Demon in next. Your name is Kyougai, I hear?
Kyougai: !!
Gotou: Kyogai, right?
Kyougai: You’ve heard of me! You know my name!
Gotou: I happened to, yes.
Kyougai: What have you heard???
Gotou: That you were kicked out of the Lower Moons for being unable to consume enough humans.
Kyougai: Oh. ……..yeah, that’s me.
Gotou: I thought demons go berserk if they go a long time without consuming humans. Wouldn’t that make an inability to consume them problematic?
Kyougai: It wasn’t that I couldn’t eat them! Like I said in Chapter 24, I had to in order to sustain myself, just like any other demon. But, at some point, I couldn’t eat as much as I used to. That happens to humans too, doesn’t it? When you just can’t stomach anymore?
Gotou: You mean like when you’ve overeaten? In a human’s case that feeling may go away within a few hours.
Kyougai: Sort of like that, but you know, humans reach a time when nothing is appetizing or the thought of eating makes them feel sick, right? Isn’t that the human condition?
Gotou: …uh… maybe if they have a medical condition? Or anxiety? Do demons get anxiety? Or eating disorders?
Kyougai: I… I don’t know. I just wasn’t good enough.
Gotou: I think it’s plenty good if you stopped eating humans. Though to have developed Blood Techniques and been a Lower Moon in the first place, you must had eaten a great number of them.
Kyougai: You think I’m great?
Gotou: What?
Kyougai: No, sorry, I was getting ahead of myself. It’s true, I used to be able to eat as many as the other Lower Moons always consumed. Our stomachs were stronger, you might say. Demons got strong by eating humans, and then the more you did that the better you usually got at it, so the strong ones would eat more and more and keep getting stronger and stronger. At least, that’s how it usually worked. I’ve seen other demons below me reached that point too, where they feel the drive to eat, but then they have trouble digesting it for a long time, so they don’t wind up eating that many people.
Gotou: Then it would make sense to eat the most nutritionally dense parts first.
Kyougai: Or a Marechi.
Gotou: Yes, or a Marechi.
Kyougai: It was a great idea, wasn’t it?
Gotou: I cannot condone any consumption of humans as a good idea.
Kyougai: I knew it. I’m nothing. Go ahead, stomp all over everything I ever tried to accomplish.
Gotou: I think I’m going to move on to my next interviewee now. It looks like we’ve got… oh, would you look at this? Lower Moon One. Enmu, I believe.
Enmu: You can believe whatever you want. I’m happy to help.
Gotou: I don’t need any help, thanks. I’m curious, since you were one of the stronger demons out there, it seems you had a stronger capacity for consuming humans.
Enmu: I did, I was always careful and paced myself so the Demon Slayers wouldn’t notice me. I took my time. I liked to enjoy e-e-e-a-c-h one.
Gotou: Then you had tastes too? Like babies, or 16-year-old girls?
Enmu: I could season any human to my liking. They’re all very easy to prepare.
Gotou: I’m still trying to get quantitative data. Can you tell me at least a rough estimate of how many humans you consumed?
Enmu: I told this more precisely to that boy with the earrings back in Chapter 59, and I can tell you this too. At my best, I could had eaten over two-hundred people at once if I took my time.
Gotou: OH MY GAW----sorry, I dropped my pen. Two hundred, at once?
Enmu: Yes. If I had just. Had. A little. More. Time.
Gotou: Clearly there is a huge difference between what common demons are capable of and what the Twelve Moons are capable of.
Daki: Psh, those were all any random common people. That’s nothing to brag about.
Gotou: Excuse me, and you are?
Daki: Daki, Upper Moon Six. You want something really impressive, you talk to the Upper Moons.
Gotou: I’m sorry, I don’t see you on my list.
Daki: What! Your list is stupid. Look me in the eyes, I’m Upper Moon Six!
Gotou: Very well, then. What can you tell me about your diet, Miss Upper Moon Six?
Daki: That’s more like it. It’s true that digestion takes a while, and takes some effort. Even though we Upper Moons may have eaten hundreds of people in our lifetimes, it’s not as if we gorge ourselves. The clever ones among us save prey for later to eat when we feel ready for it.
Gotou: Food storage? How do you keep them fresh?
Daki: You leave them still alive, numbskull. Nobody wants to eat something cold, that’s gross.
Gotou: I see, so that’s why demons prefer to go after new kills instead of saving what they’ve already managed to kill. That also might explain why the demons on Mt. Fujikasane wouldn’t had eaten many humans, if they found long dead ones in edible.
Daki: You want to know the real secret to eating humans? You can eat what you find tastes good, sure. But to get stronger, you eat strong people. Like your Corp members, the ones besides chumps like you? Using all that Breath makes their muscles really lean and potent, it’s like they come offering themselves as protein bars for us.
Gotou: You make them sound like a fad diet…
Daki: The real secret is eating Pillars. Besides Marechi, they’re the strongest meals out there. Guess how many I’ve eaten?
Gotou: I don’t have the data to make an educated guess.
Daki: Then get educated! Look back at Chapter 88! I’ve eaten seven Pillars, and my brother has eaten fifteen!
Gotou: Your brother? Who is he, then, Upper Moon Five?
Daki: What? Ew. Gross. Gross! No way, ew!
Gotou: Hmm… eating Pillars, huh? Well, I can think of one Pillar who was…
Douma: Me too!
Gotou: Speak of the devil.
Tumblr media
Douma: Actually, we Upper Moons can! And he's not Satan, that's not how this works. But I guess Muzan-sama’s curse doesn’t effect us now. Ask me anything you want!
Gotou: That Chapter 143 reference was such a rude entrance. I understand that Pillars are particularly nutritious—
Douma: Oh, please don’t misunderstand! I don’t even eat all the Pillars I’ve encountered. There was the one Flower Pillar who got away from me, but some of the boy pillars I just leave around. What’s really the key to consistent nutritional intake is women! It’s really unhealthy for a demon not to get enough women in their diet, that’s why even if you’re only looking for Marechi or Pillars, your metabolism is going to get thrown out of whack with sudden big meals. You grow a stronger metabolism with consistency, I believe!
Gotou: If I could stop you there, I had an image from Chapter 142 I preferred to focus on for this case study. I see you keep a wide collection of skulls, from victims whom I assume you ate.
Tumblr media
Douma: Yes, they all stayed together inside me for eternity, but the room looked lonely without décor.
Gotou: It seems other demons usually go for nutritionally dense organs like hearts or livers, or easy to digest parts of the body, perhaps just blood sometimes. Eating the entire victim, bones and all, doesn’t seem to be the norm.
Douma: Bones are organs too, you know! That’s where blood is made, at its freshest. They do take more practice in learning to digest, and I had to find a way around not having to chew them, but the bone marrow is very, very good for you, so I make sure to consume it frequently. It may take more time and it causes some of my followers to panic more while they wait, though, that’s a bit of a downside. Oh, and I guess bones can make good storage for some sneaky poison. Even fingernails and hair follicles, who’d have thought?
Gotou: I don’t think hair would have much nutritional value in the first place. In all my years, I can never recall seeing a victim with their hair eaten.
Douma: Tsk, tsk! Clearly you haven’t done much metabolism research in advance. I was really impressed by how well Shinobu-chan understood how my digestion would work. Eating hair can do amazing things! Isn’t that right, Genya-kun?
Tumblr media
Genya: ?????????
Gotou: Genya-kun!?
Genya: What am I doing here?
Gotou: I don’t think you’re supposed to be here. Isn’t there, you know, another side? The other direction?
Genya: What are you doing here? Did you die?
Gotou: I’m here doing research on demon metabolism and how they get stronger by consuming flesh.
Douma: What can you tell us about what up with having your friend feed you hair you found on the floor in Chapters 170-171, Genya-kun?
Genya: I’m not a demon!! Why the hell are you asking me?
Douma: ‘Hell’! Haha, good one!
Gotou: How do you even know about that? You were dead almost a full volume before that. And Genya’s different, he’s not a case study in how demons consuming humans works!
Douma: Are you certain?
Gotou: I hear the term get thrown around a lot that he’s ‘half-demon’, but—
Genya: I’m not a demon!!!
Gotou: --how would that even work? That would imply that one of his parents had to be a demon, and that—
Genya: What did you say about my mother!?!
Gotou: What? Nothing—
Genya: You say that to my face! You just trying saying something about my mother to my face! My mother never actually ate any flesh, you got that? She doesn’t deserve any of this!
Gotou: Genya, calm down, what—
Douma: I see we’re learning nothing about hair at all. Maybe Kokushibou-dono would provide better commentary on that?
Genya: Mom? Mo-o-o-o-m? Are you down here somewhere?
Gotou: And there he goes wait, did you say Kokushibou? Upper Moon One? Oh no—he—he didn’t want me bothering him, he did not agree to another interview—
Douma: He-e-e-e-e-y, Kokushibou-dono! How did that work with Genya-kun eating your hair? Hair can be nutritious, right?
Kokushibou: You would gain… nothing… from consuming human hair… it’s not… flesh… you wasted your energy digesting it…
Douma: Aww, cutting it off them would had been sad, though.
Kokushibou: Demon hair… like demon weapons… is made… from our unique cells. It’s not dead… like human locks. Because that boy ate my live cells… it affected him…
Gotou: Yes, because he had a very, very unique metabolism, analyzed separately in this post. To be perfectly clear, Genya is completely human with cells that could temporarily transform, and he never consumed human flesh.
Kokushibou: He… vexes me…
Gotou: Um… while I’ve got you here, you’re one of the longest lived demons, clocking in at over three, maybe four centuries. Do you have any estimate of how many humans you’ve consumed?
Kokushibou: ……I see in… Chapter 100… that you are 23 years old?
Gotou: That is correct.
Kokushibou: Do you bother… remembering how many meals… you’ve had in a mere 23 years?
Gotou: I’m very sorry to have bothered you.
Douma: Kokushibou-dono’s ancient compared to the rest of us! But if I tried, I could probably recall. Let’s see. One, two, three, four…
Gotou: Is that? Your finger in your brain? Oh—ohhh—that is disgusting---I really don’t need to know numbers that badly, please stop. Is there maybe just some average you can give me for the Upper Moons instead? Like how many you’d eat in a month?
Douma: I wish I could, but a certain someone was an annoying outlier and didn’t like to eat so many humans. He made me worry all the time about his health.
Gotou: Really? Who might that be?
Douma: Hello-o-o-o-o-? Akaza-dono? Yoohoo! He spends all his time with his wife now and never answers when I call, it makes me so sad. Akaza-dono did eat humans, plenty of strong ones, but any time he wasn’t under orders from Muzan he liked to spend his time training instead of eating. Fanbook #1 says he did that way more than eating!
Gotou: Training? What sort of training?
Douma: Similar things to what your Corp members did, I imagine. Doing squats, throwing punches, things like that.
Gotou: Then demon muscles had similar function to human muscles, and could be strengthened through hard work? That’s surprising.
Douma: I know, right? I’ll let you in on a secret, I don’t think it was the physically repetition that did anything. I think it was his willpower getting honed and shaping his muscles.
Tumblr media
Douma: I had to focus when I acquired new skills too, like breaking down poisons. A lot of sad, lowly demons, like that Hand Demon fellow? They focus as hard as they can in their desperation, or focus on some strong emotion or attachment or whatever, and they grow and develop because of it. Sometimes all their weak bodies can manage is an ugly mutation, but that’s proof enough of how much focus they had.
Gotou: That sheds a lot of light on Nezuko, actually.
Douma: Shed “light” on Nezuko-chan, hahaha! Sunlight! You humans are all so witty!
Gotou: Speaking of willpower, I’ve got one more interview I need to get to down here. Of all the demons I have records of, only Nezuko went her whole time as a demon without consuming any human flesh, although she did go through moments of berserk cravings for it. It’s possible that other demons were killed before they could consume anything, but typically they will consume flesh as soon as possible, which is why its common for their family and close relations to be among the first ones killed. Tomioka-san even mentioned in Chapter 1 that these close relations are especially nutritious.
Tumblr media
Gotou: A demon about as old as Kokushibou, if not older, is a special case of her own. She was one of the only demons we know of to have escaped Kibutsuji’s curse and acted in dependently of him, including having created a demon of her own after two hundred years of trying. Most notably to our purposes, she trained herself to subsist on small amounts of blood, after having survived on corpses and wild animals for a time, according to the extensive Taisho Secrets at the end of Volume 21.
Tamayo: I explained this in more detail to Tanjirou-san in Chapter 15, but I went on to purchase blood from poor people, and extracted it in ways that wouldn’t be harmful to them. The one demon I created, Yushirou, could subsist on even less. I gained enough self-control that I could treat injured humans without feeling tempted into a berserk state.
Gotou: I was just talking to Douma about willpower making demons capable of accomplishing new physical developments. Was that how you were able to gain this state? I heard you even enjoy a cup of tea now and then.
Tamayo: Yes, I’ve taken a liking to it. I’d offer you some if not for this, you know, being hell. It’s nothing like the hell I went through when first resisting consuming humans, though. My demon body refused to take anything but fresh human flesh at first, but in the hardest moments, I always remembered a kind demon hunter who said he believed in me and my desire to defeat Kibutsuji Muzan. I believe Nezuko may have summoned her strength to resist the call of her demon cells in a similar way; she knew she had her brother there to rely on. Once she mastered something as remarkable as resisting the need for human flesh, it gave her the freedom to prioritize other developments.
Gotou: You spent centuries researching demon cells, especially how demons may break down and metabolize poisons.
Tamayo: I had not studied the metabolism of poisons until working with Shinobu-san. The medicine we concocted for Kibutsuji was only possible thanks to her work, and I couldn’t had worked with many of those wisteria-based substances on my own. I feel I was only there to fill in the gaps of her brilliant understanding.
Gotou: You’re very humble. I would pass along my thanks and compliments to Shinobu-sama too, but I’m pretty sure she’s not down here. On that note, did Genya-kun go back home?
Tamayo: He did after a nice reunion with his mother just now, it was very sweet. Shizu-san and I get along well, after all, we both carry similar guilt.
Gotou: Wait, was his mother a demon? That means Wind-sama’s mother was too? Wait?? What??
Tamayo: The worst hell I went through, or that any demon has gone through, is to realize what you’ve eaten after the hunger-driven madness clears. Being similar to your own cells, they’re easy on a volatile new anatomy to break down and digest. That’s why many demons may have driven themselves to forget everything all over again, or to twist their personalities to justify the horror, saying that because they ate the hearts of their loved ones and because demon flesh can live forever, then they never truly killed them. The truth always remained untwisted for me, and to this day, it torments me more than anything in this underworld can try.
Gotou: …
Tamayo: You should wake up now, Gotou. You’ve been through a lot; the nightmares must be taxing on your health. Please remember to eat well.

The Number One Rule. Chapter 25.
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N has always been seen as “Steve’s rambunctious sister.” However, she grew up, graduated, and moved to London to study abroad for 4 years and get her bachelor's degree. The girl that returns looks nothing like the teenager that left, but don’t worry the attitude is still there and stronger than ever. What’s to come of the two grown adults that used to push each other's buttons, but now have a lot more in common than they’ve ever realized.
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Y/N Rogers (Steve’s little sister)
Word Count: 2300+
A/N: Ok this one is really cute and comedic. I thought seeing these two would be adorable as well as a great step into my next chapter! In saying that, the next one is either going to be the last or second to last! Thank you all once again for the undying support and love with this series:)
Chapter Twenty-Five:
“Thank you guys so much for babysitting tonight,” Wanda gushed as she ran around grabbing things last minute. “Vis and I have had very few moments to actually go out. Pietro was a huge help while he was staying here, but had to go back to training. Then mom and dad had some business back in Sokovia, so getting a second to breathe after 2 weeks of never leaving the house with these чудовище, monsters, has been near to impossible.”
“Wanda, really no worries at all. I promised I’d help you guys out, and,” Y/N paused as little Tommy squealed in joy in her arms. “That’s a promise I am glad to keep.”
“You say that now, but wait until their moods change. We had them crying for a total of 5 hours straight yesterday. Changing the diapers, bottles, pacifiers, non-stop rocking, nothing worked,” she huffed, grabbing a light jacket for the spring air outside.
“Darling, I believe we are supposed to be convincing them to stay, not scaring them away,” Vis said, coming out of the room with a soft smile.
“Right, right,” Wanda chuckled bashfully. “They’re a breeze,” she tried to quickly offset.
“A little late on that cover Wands,” Bucky chuckled, standing with Billy in his arms as he rocked him back and forth.
“It’s fine, you guys,” Y/N laughed looking up at Bucky as he started making faces at the little guy in his hands. “I babysat all through highschool, and nannied overseas to make some money on the side. This isn’t anything out of the ordinary for me,” Y/N reassured. “Plus, Bucky seems to be doing great by the looks of it.”
“I’ve been holding him for 5 minutes,” Bucky said, never breaking his eyes from the baby. As if if he were, it would combust if he didn’t pay attention and it would be on him.
“I’ll make sure we’re fine,” Y/N laughed. “Now you two get out of here before I kick you out and lock the doors so you’re forced to enjoy your evening.”
“Ok, ok!” Wanda put her hands up in defense. She moved, grabbing her purse and Vision grabbed the keys. “Bedtime is at 6:30, if you can get them down. If not, the sound machine really helps. A bottle before bed luckily is the one saving grace for us, as it has yet to fail but once in getting them to knock out. Oh, and-”
“Wanda, dear. I think they have it under control,” Vis chuckled, putting his arm on her shoulder. “We really shall go before they give our reservation to someone else.”
“Ok,” she sighed, going back to the boys. “Mommy loves you two. Be good and don’t scare these two off. They may be our only hope in having nights out again.” She gave each of the boys a kiss on the forehead getting a coo from each of them in Y/N and Bucky’s arms.
“Don’t hesitate to call if anything happens. Emergency numbers are on the fridge, including doctors and neighbors. But knowing this one,” Vis pointed to the redhead who was double checking everything around her to make sure they were set. “Our phones will be on loud and we will be picking up within 2 seconds of you calling.”
“I don’t doubt that,” Y/N laughed before shooing them out of their own house. Eventually succeeding and joining Bucky back in the living room where he hadn’t halted his rocking with Billy still happy in his arms.
“Why do babies go to bed so early? I never understood that,” he noted, slowly moving to sit on the couch as delicately as possible.
“What do you mean?” Y/N asked with a laugh, repositioning Tommy to one arm and moving toys on the counter around while also moving the bouncy seat over to her spot on the couch with the other arm.
“How do you do that?” Bucky asked, impressed with how easy she made holding and working around a baby look.
“Do what?” she hummed, finally sitting by him and placing Tommy in the rocking seat.
“You just grabbed a heavy form of equipment and a 2 month old baby while also reorganizing a table full of toys,” Bucky nodded his head. His arms around his twin tight to make sure no harm could come to him.
“It’s called having done this more times than I could count,” Y/N laughed. “And as for going to bed early, babies literally only sleep, poop, eat, and cry. They tend to go to sleep early on their own so it’s just working around their sleep schedule on finding a bedtime.”
“Ok, but if all these parents complain about waking up early with their kids, why don’t they put them to bed later?” Bucky asked.
“I don’t really know. I’m sure there’s some science and routine behind it, but I’ve never really had a kid of mine own, so I couldn’t tell you,” she joked as she watched Tommy gurgle with his spit in the chair. She grabbed a blanket and wiped his lips, getting a giggle out of the little boy.
“Do you want kids of your own?” Bucky asked a little more timidly.
She turned over to him and smiled. “I do. I would love some little monsters of my own.”
He couldn’t help the lovestruck look on his face as he watched her go back to Tommy as he babbled to her.
Don’t get him wrong. He had thought about it before in the past, but hearing her confirmation meant something else. Seeing little mini-Y/N’s running around made his heart warm. I mean, he had witnessed a little Y/N himself growing up and though she was a handful, she was a cute little stinker. Then you add in the fact he could be part of that equation… Well, it made his heart practically melt inside.
“What about you?” Y/N asked, breaking him out of his thoughts.
“With my special someone? Yeah, no second thoughts about it,” he grinned at her as she started making faces at the baby. He laughed with Tommy at her before she looked back and relaxed into his side. She looked over and down at Billy who was falling in and out of sleep himself.
“You’re pretty good at this you know,” she remarked.
“I haven’t moved besides sitting down. I don’t think you can mess anything up doing that,” he laughed.
“Oh, trust me. You can. You’d be surprised just how picky babies are about every little detail and movement,” she laughed, placing a kiss to his cheek.
“We only have really an hour of them being awake before we put them to sleep and relax until Wanda and Vis come home,” Bucky took a breath, leaning his head on top of hers that was on his shoulder.
“Please tell me you’re not that naive with babies. You do realize just because we put them to sleep doesn't mean they’ll stay like that,” she giggled.
“I know, I know,” he laughed with her. “But I’m hoping for the best.”
_________
Well, the best did not happen. It took less than 45 minutes after that comment before the boys decided to do an Act 2 of their crying scene that Wanda described earlier.
“I don’t know what to do,” Bucky groaned, bouncing in a harsh manner with his knees as Tommy cried in his arms. Y/N was across the room in the kitchen making bottles with Billy crying as well, but not near as loud, in her arms.
“No one ever does. We just have to pull out all the tricks and one of them works!” she yelled from the other room. Quickly she ran in with the bottles, one already propped under her chin feeding Billy who was now content, and the other she was handing off to Bucky who was scared to adjust to one hand with a baby in his arms.
When he did give Tommy the bottle though, the baby kept moving his face away from the nipple.
“I don't think that’s the trick for this one,” Bucky said in defeat.
“Here let me see,” Y/N said, trying to feed it to himself.
“Wait,” Bucky said, pausing his bouncing. “Do you smell that?”
“What-Oh…” Y/N noticed. The two scrunch their nose in sync. “It’s diaper duty time.”
“I’ve never been on diaper duty…” Bucky replied softly, fear clear in his eyes.
“You’re about to learn today then,” she said with a wicked smirk. “Here, you take Billy and I’ll take Tommy. I’ll show you how to do it, and then next one is on you.”
“There’s not way I can opt out of it?” Bucky tried to joke as he followed behind her with a face of disgust from the smell.
“It’s funny you think that’s an option,” Y/N remarked before turning a corner.
Once in the boys room and at the changing table, she set a crying Tommy down and started unbuttoning his onesie and noticed they had a bigger issue than they had hoped.
“Oh God,” she gagged some. Bucky hadn’t looked at the damage since he was just coming in the room with a newly adjusted baby in his arms.
“What? Wha- Oh God,” he repeated. “Ho-What-How do you fix that?” he pointed at the now laughing baby on the changing table.
“Well, what we have here Bucky is a classic case of a blow out.”
“A blowout?”
“A blowout.”
“What’s the solution?” Bucky questioned, pinching his nose with the same hand that was propping the bottle into the other twin’s mouth.
“Well, I would tell you but instead, we’re going to have to use a hands on form of assessment,” Y/N laughed, motioning him over, which he hesitantly did. “Little stinker here thinks this is funny, don’t you?” Tommy laughed in response. “Yeah, that’s what I thought. Ok, you stand here to make sure he doesn’t move around in it much more, and give me Billy.”
“I think I prefer the clean baby,” Bucky hesitated.
“Bucky, I’m putting Tommy down so we can clean Billy up together. It’s easier with the method I’m using,” she chuckled, switching positions with Bucky.
“Oh God, it’s everywhere. How is it everywhere?” Bucky covered his nose as he held Billy from rolling in his own mess.
“Like I said, a classic blowout.” Y/N put Tommy in his crib who was luckily already getting sleepy for the night and went down easily while they took care of the other twin. “Ok, pick him up and let’s go to the bathroom.”
“Bathroom?” Bucky asked.
“Yes, bathroom. This is going to be a heavy duty diaper duty,” she laughed. “Now grab him big macho man. Don’t tell me you’re scared of a little bit of poop.”
“Don’t patronize me,” Bucky stuck his tongue out at her.
She laughed before heading off to the bathroom herself.
“Ok, but really. Not that I can’t handle it, but I’d rather not get crap on me little guy. Try not to wiggle,” Bucky took a deep breath before going in.
So heavy duty clean up involves taking the shower head off of the wall and just completely hosing down the baby like a dirty dish plate apparently. And in the process, with him being a little boy, there was also a round of pee coming out like a jet stream.
Lucky for the two, they didn’t get in the line of fire, but that doesn’t mean the surprise didn’t end up with them getting almost as wet as little Billy.  After that, he was a happy baby and took a bottle with ease.
The two boys ended up settling completely asleep right at 6:45. Just over 15 minutes of their normal bedtime.
So, a little wet, very exhausted with just an hour of fun twin festivities, and with the baby monitors on and showing a live feed, Bucky and Y/N collapsed on the couch.
“I bet you the spy’s who do fight scenes for hours on end in movies, can’t do that,” Bucky groaned. Y/N laughed as she fell into his lap.
“I don’t think they could,” Y/N agreed.
“How the hell do Vis and Wanda do that all hours of the day?” he sighed deeply, moving his hands to her hair to wipe it off of her face in reflex.
“It’s not always like that, but I do agree. That is some exhausting stuff.”
“Still want monsters of your own?” Bucky teased.
She paused before answering and looking up at Bucky. He noticed the silence and looked down at her.
“When it’s your own kiddos, it’s a whole different kind of mess. One that you’re a lot more willing to endure.”
He smiled at her sweet notion and ran a thumb down her cheek.
“I guess you’re right about that,” he grinned.
“Although,” she huffed, getting comfortable as she laid her head in his lap. “I can gladly wait a few more years before I add that kind of chaos to my life.”
“I think I can concur with that,” Bucky chuckled, slumping back in his stance. “Hey when you’re ready to move again, want to put on a movie?”
“Always.”
They sat like that taking a second to breathe in the calm. Before Bucky broke it.
“Hey, Y/N?”
“Yeah, B?”
“I love you, you know that right?”
She sat up some and actually sat in his lap now. She leaned her forehead on his and smiled as they both closed their eyes at the intimate gesture. Their intimate gesture.
“I know Bumble Bee. I love you too.”

BLOG TABOOS:
- I don’t tolerate hate. Full stop. If you’re actively harassing anybody, sending them death threats, hating on them for their fandoms or interests or literally anything else, I’m going to hardblock you. I don’t care if the other person sucks, I don’t believe that fighting hate with more hate helps anybody. By all means, give constructive criticism when necessary. But if the person doesn’t listen, block them. Don’t stoop as low as I’ve seen some people do. Be the better person.
- I do expect my roleplay partners to follow basic roleplay rules. Please don’t take control of my muse for me, or kill / seriously injure her without discussing it with me. There’s a chance I’ll be all for it considering I’m an angst fiend, but there’s also a chance I might want to take the thread in a different direction.
- I don’t get involved with fandom or RPC drama unless I want to. Please don’t try to drag me into it. I will speak up on things from time to time, but I try not to involve myself unless I absolutely have to. I don’t reblog call out posts and I don’t post them. I’ll simply block a person if they make me uncomfortable and move on.
MY PERSONAL BOUNDARIES:
- I am over 18, but this blog is strictly SFW when it comes to things of a sexual nature. First off, the most obvious reason- Noelle is a minor! All of the main characters from Deltarune are minors! They’re in, like, highschool. You should not be writing or drawing sexual content with these characters.
Aside from that, I’m very uncomfortable with sexual content in general, especially when directed towards me. This does include innuendoes and jokes. Please don’t send me anything of this nature, or I’ll more than likely softblock you. Especially if you’re a minor, you shouldn’t be interacting with that sort of content at all, much less sending it to a legal adult.
- Okay! As for romantic shipping, I don’t plan on getting into that too much. Noelle is a unique case in that she does have a canonical crush on Susie, but that’s probably as far as I’m gonna go with that sort of thing. I don’t currently intend on doing any romance-centric plots, so if that’s what you’re here for, this probably isn’t gonna be the blog for you.
- I usually don’t send rules passwords due to anxiety. That being said, please know I always read people’s rules before I follow them. That’s always the first thing I do when I’m scouting out blogs. I just get really nervous about sending in passwords to people I haven’t interacted with ‘cause I feel like I’m putting them on the spot to interact if they might not want to.
- I’d appreciate it if you’d have an idea in mind before you come to me for plotting. I’m gonna be honest, I absolutely suck at plotting when I’m prompted to do so. I try, but my brain often refuses to come up with ideas when I’m actively trying to come up with ideas. I will contribute what I can, but if you’re gonna come to me first about it, I’d prefer if you’d start it off. I’d rather you not message me randomly with something like “do you want to roleplay” because that does kind of put me on the spot. Just lemme know that you have an idea!
Also, as an add-on to this, I’ve gotten really bad at answering Tumblr IMs in general recently. If we’re mutuals, I’d much prefer you to add me on Discord for chatting and plotting! You can find me at CONSTANTLY SWITCHING FANDOMS™#0154! Just please let me know who you are via Tumblr first.
FOLLOWING & INTERACTIONS:
- This blog is moderately selective and mutuals only. I’m gonna be a little more picky on this blog than I used to be, because Tumblr RP was really starting to stress me out, and I realized that it was because I wasn’t setting enough boundaries for myself which was leading to me getting overwhelmed.
If I don’t follow back I will more than likely softblock. There’s no hard feelings towards you whatsoever if I do this- more than likely I just couldn’t see our characters or writing styles meshing well together, and that’s totally okay!
- When it comes to crossovers and OCs, these are gonna be the blogs where the slight increase in selectivity is going to be the most obvious. I’m still very open to interacting with other fandoms and OCs, but I will be a little more watchful about whether or not our fandoms really mesh well together.
Again, if I decide they don’t, no hard feelings. It’s mostly just to make sure my muse remains fairly high for all of my threads.
- Personals! Y’all can still follow me, I don’t care about that. Just so long as you follow some common courtesy rules. Don’t reblog IC posts or posts specifically relevant to this blog. Don’t like my starter calls, I only do threads with other RP blogs. Liking IC posts is fine, and reblogging stuff like fanart from me is also fine. I don’t worry about the notif spam thing too much, just so long as you don’t reblog things you shouldn’t.
ACTIVITY & RESPONSES:
- Noelle is a high activity muse for me, but I’m planning on making this blog more of a side project than my main focus, which means it’ll likely be mid-low activity. This is to keep me from getting burnt out with Tumblr RP again.
- My reply speed will vary drastically. Either I reply within 20 minutes or it takes me a week, no inbetweens (/hj). And I will have thread biases, muse biases, and even mun biases in some cases. Expect me to reply to threads with canon characters a lot quicker than crossover threads.
As for reply speed on your end, I don’t care! So long as I still have muse, I’ll probably be okay with continuing a thread even if it takes you two months to reply to it. Please don’t stress about replying to me quickly. Roleplay is supposed to be a hobby, and if you’re stressing out, there’s no point in doing it.
- When it comes to reply length, that varies drastically for me too depending on the thread. The longest reply I’ve ever written was 21 paragraphs, but my average tends to fall between 4 and 8. Please don’t feel the need to match length if I write you a novel. So long as you give me something to work with, it’s fine.
On the flip side, I don’t force myself to match length either. I write as much as I can handle writing at that particular moment, and that’s it. This, again, is so I don’t burn myself out with Tumblr RP again. That being said, I will never give you a one-liner in response to a full length RP post. That’s not cool. So don’t worry about that. Most times my responses will be over 3 paragraphs.
- I’m fine with doing mains, but not exclusives. I don’t want to limit myself to only writing with one version of a character. However, if I run into a mun or a specific portrayal of a character that I really click with, or that has a unique relationship with my Noelle, I’ll totally be down to be mains!
CONTENT & TAGGING:
The very first thing you should know about me is that I’m a top tier angst fiend. Always have been, probably always will be. I don’t have any strict boundaries when it comes to angst so long as it doesn’t break any of the rules I’ve already laid out, but I do tend to be a little cautious on Tumblr so I don’t inadvertently break somebody else’s boundaries.
Along with that, my Noelle’s main verse is from the single most traumatizing Deltarune route. Snowgrave is dark, arguably more so than the Undertale genocide route. There’s going to be mentions of character death and violence on this blog, and a lot of it at that. And I more than likely won’t be tagging canon typical violence and character death because there’s so much of it. So, if that’s something that bothers you, this probably isn’t the blog for you.
HOWEVER, I will be tagging any other trigger that pops up on this blog, along with anything personal to you. However, I’m only human and I may forget sometimes. So please let me know if I forget to tag one of your triggers!
My format for tagging is “(trigger) cw”! So make sure yours are blocked in a way that will catch that tag.
On the same subject, there are a handful of things I personally need tagged:
Anything that could be a health anxiety trigger, preferably tagged with the specific illness, as it highly varies what triggers my health anxiety and what doesn’t.
Controversial and stressful topics like politics, religious debates, and world issues.
Heavy criticism of my interests. (And by this I mean full on rants & fandom / character bashing.) + Fandom and RPC drama.
Sexual NSFW in any context. Visual gore (art / pictures). Vomiting and unsanitary things that could trigger somebody to vomit.
ABOUT THE MUN + CREDITS:
Hello hello! You can call me Color. I’m currently 19 as of 12 / 26 / 2021. I’m a cis girl and go by she/her pronouns. I’m self-diagnosed with ADHD, though I plan to seek out an official diagnosis when I have the ability to do it. I also have anxiety, like every other roleplayer on this website. /lh
Deltarune sucked me in way harder than I expected it would at first. I’m in love with the characters, the soundtrack, and everything else about it. And I’m super happy to have a chance to involve myself in the RPC.
The graphics on this blog are either (A) random stock images I pulled from Google Images or (B) My art. There’s not a lot of official Deltarune art AFAIK, so I was forced to improvise, Lol.
OPTIONAL RULES PASSWORD:
So! This is absolutely not required. Believe me, I understand being anxious, and I’ll trust that most people read my rules. But! If you want to give me extra confirmation, you can do one of two things:
(1) Like this post. Or (2), send me this password: “It’s difficult to see through the ice.”
Otherwise, thank you so much for reading, and I hope we get to interact soon!

K and S from the dirty headcanons for all of them! 👀
Insert ‘anything for you, Beyonce’ vine here. I’ve got a margarita in me, time to get SPICY
Dirty A-Z Headcanons here
For obvious reasons, answers under the cut.
Since these are both multi-part I’ll answer each question for each OC, but I’m gonna do it in bullet points for the sake of my brain.
K - Kissing (what parts of their body do they like having kissed? what parts of their partner do they enjoy kissing? do they like leaving marks/having marks left on them?
Zelda
Loves her wrists, the space just in front of her ear, and the insides of her knees to be kissed, especially if those kisses are laid out on the journey elsewhere.
Loves to kiss her partners on their temples, shoulders, and lower belly. Also of course a fan of a light kiss to whatever bits her partner has, usually paired with a cheeky look and a ‘would you rather me be here?’. Also, hello, tits??? Grabby hands, put them in her mouth now
Adores both giving and receiving marks, wears them with pride if they’re in visible places. Can, will, and has bitten a partner’s ass to watch them squirm a bit when they sit down later on. Scratches are great when she’s topping, love bites are ideal when she’s bottoming, and god help her if her partner is wearing lipstick. She’s an adult, she fucks, if you’ve got beef that’s your problem
Miriyam
Prefers her kisses on her mouth, but if she had to pick other places - her back, her neck, and her inner thighs. Loves her ribs as well, though it’s more of the giggling kind of enjoyment than horny enjoyment.
Happily gives kisses on necks, in the center of her partner’s chest, and when she’s feeling mushy/soft, foreheads or cheeks. Not really discriminate on kiss locations though, she also likes giving them on ankles, wrists, and lower backs. Also an ass biter. Suddenly I understand why Miriyam and Zelda work in that one AU.
Miriyam less likely to give markings normally, but she loves giving love bites and bruises. She’ll keep them to areas that can be covered if you ask, but otherwise she is literally going for the throat. Not particularly picky about what she receives, though, she generally just thinks that kind of shit is great.
Monster Miri is aggressive with marking. if you don’t tell her otherwise, she will grab with enough strength to bruise, and you will get bitten. A lot. She’s a territorial bastard and it scratches the protective itch.
Astoria
Please kiss their hands, any and all pulse points, and their back. Particularly if you kiss the phases of their moon tattoo down their spine, it makes them squirm like there’s no tomorrow. Kisses on their chest make them soft and if you kiss their ass, they’re just going to tell you they’d rather sit on your face if your mouth is already down there
Usually they prefer to kiss mouths, but chests (over the heart), wrists, and the pulse point on their partner’s neck are all fair game. Also generally just enjoys putting their mouth on bellies and thighs, because they’re soft and they feel nice. Please smother them.
They prefer to keep marks to where they can be covered on themself, which isn’t hard for their wardrobe, but when giving they’ll put them anywhere their partner wants. However, nothing makes them go more feral than the idea of leaving lipstick kisses on every bit of skin they can get their mouth on. Especially if mixed with some small love bites here and there. Drool.
Matilda
Tilly would love it if you kiss her thighs, ankles, or her abdomen. She loves her legs, they look great, please worship them and give them the attention they deserve because they are not this toned for nothing
Preferred kiss deliveries are to lower backs, the backs of knees, and stomachs - mostly because she thinks they’re under-appreciated but she also loves it if it makes her partner giggle. The good kiss spots are for when you can make your partner laugh during sex.
Not a fan of receiving marks, but will dig her nails in and give some good scratches if her partner is into it. It’s too risky if she’s in a show and she prefers clothing that shows off a bit of skin when it warms up, so she’d rather not stress about how it looks professionally. Prefers the aftermath of ruined makeup on herself after a good obliteration, though, so go for it, she’ll thank you later.
Tamryn
Absolutely adores his hands, chest, or his upper back/the back of his shoulders being kissed. It makes him feel mushy, especially if done when cuddling in one way or another
Prefers to give kisses to jaws, collarbones, and fingertips, though his favorite thing to do when he’s feeling soft is body worship with his hands, quickly following the trail they make with his lips. Odds are he’d spend hours happily mapping every inch of his partner’s body with his lips and fingers if they didn’t stop him.
He enjoys marking - because he can’t enjoy them visually, he focuses more on sensation. He prefers them on the softer parts of his body for the lighter, tingly kind of enjoyment, and spots like his ribs to make him jump because it feels sharper and draws his attention more. Also, to be entirely honest, bite his tits. He will jump but he loves it, especially if he can lace a hand into his partner’s hair while they do. When giving, he just likes to be directed where they want their marks, though he is also inclined to grip hard if he’s being ridden
S - Sleepy sex (do they give oral to wake their partner up? do they like receiving oral to wake up? do they like fucking their partner awake? being fucked awake? how about being fucked to sleep at night? do they have lazy morning sex?
Note: I’m running on the assumption of a discussion beforehand about consent and boundaries, because that’s important. Even if my OCs are okay with something, they’d never do it if their partner isn’t also okay with it. If this isn’t your cup of tea, that is a-okay, just go ahead and scroll on by, I understand. That being said, away we go!
Zelda
Will give oral to wake a partner up, and very happy to do so if given permission.
Loves receiving as well, though she’s more enthusiastic about giving in the mornings. Heavy sleeper means you can move her around a little bit, and you’ll know she’s awake when her thighs start squeezing your head.
Zelda’s situation for ‘woken up with sex’ is pretty specific, but I digress. She’s a stomach sleeper, and if her partner were, say, to gently turn her over and start trailing kisses down her skin, she’d be very receptive to oral once she’s in that sort of drowsy, awake-but-not-ready-to-leave-bed state. Which, at that point, she will start waking up pretty quickly, and if penetration is on the table after that point, she’d be very inclined to pillow princess for once. Just don’t be too rough on her, mornings are for soft and lazy and cozy, obliterations are for nighttime.
Not really inclined to fuck someone else awake, but would wake a partner up for the explicit purpose of asking for sex because she’s horny. Which, honestly, that happens sometimes, she has no shame in admitting that.
Loves a good romp at the end of the night, both for the purpose of tiring herself out or her partner, it’s just a good way to go to sleep after a long day. She’s usually fairly energized and will take the chance to wind down in one way or another if her partner is feeling indulgent, but if she really feels restless, she can take care of herself.
Lazy morning sex is definitely good, but uncommon with Zelda, usually because she likes to get up and start getting ready for the day rather than lazing about. Which is also why it’s better to wake her up with sex, she’s content to stay right there and pillow princess the morning away for a little while rather than jump straight out of bed.
Miriyam
Not a fan of receiving oral to wake up, it just isn’t her thing.
However, she will happily settle in and wake her partner up with oral, if she’s late she’s late and she’ll eat the consequences for that after she’s done eating -
Not a fan of being fucked awake, sleep is a vulnerable state for her and being moved around for that will set her into a fight instinct rather than anything else. Also not really the type to fuck someone else awake for similar reasons, she doesn’t like it on herself and won’t do it to others
Shitty day at work? Will accept both an obliteration and doing the obliteration, fucking her or fucking a partner to sleep is absolutely ideal, though you might start crossing into the Monster Miriyam instinct here. Horny bastard.
Loves the idea of lazy morning sex, but given that mornings for her on days off are something like two pm, odds are it’s just her dragging you back to bed for a cuddle and sex in the middle of the day. Not that she’s complaining, it’s a day off for a reason.
Monster Miriyam falls pretty close in line with this, but, well. There’s no such thing as a lazy morning with her. You can pillow princess in the mornings, but you’re definitely going to be awake for it.
Astoria
You will get absolutely socked if you try and fuck them awake. Or kicked if you try oral. Point is, don’t try it if they’re not awake yet.
Given the strength of their feelings about receiving, their thoughts about giving are also probably pretty clear.
Not at all opposed to being woken up for sex, but like...give them five minutes. And a few kisses. They’ll make it clear when they’re good to go, promise.
Loves sex at the end of the day. Sometimes their mind is so active that it’s hard for them to shut it down, but an orgasm (or more, if their partner is feeling indulgent) puts their head in this really warm, calm space that’s great for going to bed in.
Lazy mornings run on the assumption you wake up before them, which feels unlikely, but they are inclined to stay in their pajamas on lazy days. They wear these light, loose cotton nightgowns, and just those nightgowns to bed, but even if they’ve gotten out of bed to do something, they’ll come back. Especially if they can pull the bottom of said nightgown up around their hips and straddle their partner in one way or another, clothed sex is a big thing of theirs.
Matilda
Not as violent as Astoria if you try oral or fucking them awake in the morning, but she will very quickly push you away and give you the silent treatment.
Also not really likely to wake up her partner that way, it’s just not her thing
You can, however, meet her in the shower for a quick bit of morning fun before she has to run to work. Her shop, her hours, her problem if she’s late.
Definitely loves sex at night to wind down. It’s her preferred time for it, too, when she can take her time and not have to stress about work or orders or rehearsal - just focusing on her partner and making each other feel good, and that’s it. Granted, if she had rehearsal that day, there is not a force on this earth that will make her do anything other than pillow princess.
Lazy morning sex is kind of...eh, in her opinion. She’s usually up at the crack of dawn to go for a run, and if it’s when she gets back, she will literally do nothing before showering. Wakes her up more. However, she will give oral if her partner would like it when she’s done in the shower, and if they didn’t already join her.
Tamryn
Please do not give him oral when he’s asleep, he has a morning checklist he goes through when he wakes up to orient himself and waking up with a mouth on his dick throws him into something of a panic. He knows he went to bed with his partner, yeah, but he just doesn’t have the awareness to want that right away.
Not inclined to give oral to wake a partner up either, but if once they’re awake fully and they’d like oral afterwards, that’s a request he can manage happily
See above points for why he does not fuck awake or be fucked awake, thank you
Loves sex at the end of the day, though he’s usually more inclined to bottom at that point. It’s a good time to get him very subby and very pliant, though if you want him to top, you can squeeze a service top out of him with some direction. Good for winding down at the end of the day.
Lazy morning sex is a whole Tamryn mood. He likes to position his bed in spaces where the sun filters through the window so he’s warm when he does come to, and he loves to cuddle while he motivates himself to get out of bed. That being said, this is a good time (in his opinion) for sex, especially if you want him to top. He’s feeling warm and fuzzy and just wants to take his time, and he will if you let him. After that? Shit, he might not even need his usual morning coffee to power through the rest of the day.

Under the cut for length!

Tumblr media
Name / Alias: Ann Are you over 18?   Yes  / No Is your muse(s) over 18?   Yes /  No  / Verse Dependent / Depends on the Muse You’re Asking About When was your blog established?  Revamped into its present multimuse state on 10.29.2020
– w r i t i n g  –
Tumblr media
Are you selective about who you write with? No (Anyone)  /  Semi (Most People) / Yes (Some People) / Highly (Few People) / Private (Mutuals Only).
Are you selective about who you follow?
No (Anyone)  /  Semi (Most People) / Yes (Some People) / Highly (Few People)
I’m not actually that picky, though, and if you have a good rules page and a good about page, and if you seem nice from your OOC posts, I’ll probably follow back. I try to give everyone I have even a small amount of interest in a chance, because I know how hard it is to be a new RPer here.
If your muse is canon, how much do you adhere to canon? Not At All  / A Little  / Some / Mostly /  Strictly / Not Applicable.
My favorite of my canon muses (Kabuto, Guzma, Octavia, etc.) tend to be canon divergent.
What post lengths do you write? One-Liners  / Single-Para / Multi-Para /  Novella / All Of The Aforementioned
I prefer single-para and multi-para, but I tend to match length. Novella is fun for plotted threads. One-Liners are better for silly threads or dash commentary.
Do you use icons and/or gifs? No  /  Gifs / Icons /  Yes / Sometimes.
More accurately - I always use icons, a small few of which happen to be gifs.
Do you write on other platforms? No / Yes
I’ll RP on Discord, but I’m very slow over there. I prefer to use it for OOC chatting.
What level of plots do you write? Unplotted /  Open-Ended Plots  /  Semi-Plotted /  Fully Plotted Epics / All Of The Aforementioned
I’d rather plot at least a little bit, but it’s fun to wing things, too. That being said, the more plotted something is, the faster my reply time is.
How quickly do you usually respond to threads? Very Slow (More Than A Month) / Slow (3-4 Weeks) / Average (1-2 Weeks)  / Fast (Less Than One Week) /  Very Fast (Less Than Three Days)
It really varies, and relevant factors include my ooc workload, which muse I’m writing as, how intensely plotted the thread is, whether it’s from an ask meme or a starter call, etc. I aim for a two week turn around, but I can be faster or slower. Overall, if our thread is really plotted out and I’m not busy ooc, my reply time tends to be faster. (It’s ... probably worth mentioning, however, that I am a chronic thread dropper.)
What types of themes do you like? Adventure  / Romance / Fluff / Angst / Violence /  Tragedy / Domestic / Family
Violence is okay in moderation. Threads where our muses do nothing but fight tend to bore me. For the most part, though, I’m willing to explore any of the above themes.
What genres do you like? ( feel free to add! ) High Fantasy / Supernatural / Science Fiction / Historical / Horror /  Comedy / Romantic / Drama / Action / Smut / Adventure /  Espionage / All Of The Aforementioned
My personal favorites of the above are horror / supernatural, romantic, drama, and adventure.
Are there any themes you’re uncomfortable writing on your blog? (not triggers) No  / Yes /  Sometimes
I will never write smut publicly, as it makes me very uncomfortable. I’ll only do so privately, and that’s only if I trust you and our muses are dating or married.
Do you have any triggers? How do you request it tagged?
Trigger is too strong a word, and I’m not going to unfollow over it (unless you constantly leave it untagged), but please tag politics, sexual content, and ooc drama (i.e. callouts). I also ask that you tag the URLs of the people you write with, as there are some RPers I don’t want to see on my dashboard.

Tumblr media
What types of relationships are you open to? Romantic /  Platonic  /  Familial / Antagonistic / All Of The Aforementioned
What types of pre-established relationships are you open to? Romantic /  Platonic  /  Familial / Antagonistic / All Of The Aforementioned
Sometimes romantic or familial can work as a pre-established relationship, too, but generally I’ve found it’s easier to choose platonic or antagonistic for a pre-established relationship and build up from there.
Do you have otps? No /  Chemistry Only / Yes
There are some ships I’m very biased towards, but if it doesn’t work between our specific takes on our muses, then I won’t force it.
Do you have notps? No / Yes
I don’t see any of them often enough to really ask that they be tagged. However, in particular, if you frequently post romantic G.uzma x L.usamine, I probably won’t follow you.
What is your muse’s sexual orientation?
Heterosexual /  Heteroflexible  / Bisexual / Pansexual /  Homoflexible  / Homosexual / Demisexual /  Sapiosexual /  Asexual / Still Trying To Figure It Out / Depends On The Muse You’re Asking For
What is your muse’s romantic orientation? Heteroromantic /  Heteroflexible  / Biromantic /  Homoflexible  /  Homoromantic   / Panromantic / Demiromantic /  Sapioromantic  / Aromantic / Still Trying To Figure It Out / Depends On The Muse You’re Asking For
Are you comfortable writing smut? No  / Selectively / Yes
And by selective, I mean, “Only on Discord, only if our muses are dating or married, and only if I really trust you.”
How early in a relationship do you ship romantically? Autoship / During Plotting  /  After A Couple Ic Interactions / Several Ic Interactions / Slow Burn / Plot Dependent /  Never
It really varies. Some muses click right away, while others take a lot longer.
Are you open to toxic ships? No / Selectively  / Yes  / I Am Not Sure
It really depends on the nature of the relationship. Note that I won’t write adultery threads, and I won’t ship anything incestuous, nor will I ship adults with minors.
Are you open to problematic ships?
No / Selectively  / Yes  / I Am Not Sure
See the above comment under toxic ships.
Are you open to polyshipping?
No / Selectively  / Yes  / I Am Not Sure
It really depends on the muse. For example, any attempts to polyship with Kabuto are pretty much a no-go, whereas Lucy is polyamorous. However, I much prefer to have all ships in separate verses.
Are you an exclusive shipper? Never / Sometimes / Yes / I Would Be Open To Discuss It
I do have a couple of single-ship muses, but most of my muses are multiship.
Does crack shipping ever happen? Nope / Yes / Depends
Honestly, if we have a crack thread where the muses display any kind of chemistry, I’d be open to exploring something more serious with it.

LOL A 401K IM DEAD but honestly...... tru
all that tax stuff, retirement plans.... nanami’s got it covered. and then there’s gojo, committing tax fraud 🤧 i’d compare gojo to salt as a seasoning but that’s kinda mean, he does have some flavor. like, sugar probably suits him better?? sweet, can be addicting, but bad for you if have too much of it 🙈 AND THEN NANAMI. man’s the whole spice rack, he wouldn’t have it anything less since he loves food so much 😤 he is, as we say, umami personified 🤌
yeah, it’s unfortunate lmfao but oh well. i do occasionally have them in a smoothie though, like you said!
alsjfhsha it’s def time consuming.... like i’d be sitting down w my family and when i’m finally done picking it all out, they’ve finished eating welp 😭 and yeah, the rational part of me knows that, but i’m that person someone has to go up the service worker for and be like “excuse me she asked for no pickles” (except i didn’t 🙈) i’m much better in restaurants bc the language barrier isn’t as intimidating so i will tell them to leave out an ingredient if it’s something i can’t easily take out
mmmmm i can see that! he’d be the guy who’d eat pizza with a fork and knife wouldn’t he lol. and dab all the excess oil off w a napkin. he probably only goes to the Legit pizza places too haha but i think if he likes you enough he can be convinced to eat almost anywhere
ofc!! ask games are more fun if it goes both ways 😌 and ooooo tsumu! interesting...... 👀 those are honestly such good date ideas w a guy like atsumu! that’d rly be smth he’d enjoy and ngl the moment i read ‘something physical’ i immediately imagined y’all racing LMAO. he’s a prime example of how competition can be good for you w the right person, so i can see you filling in the space osamu left after he decided to focus more on his food aspirations. like imagine making cute lil bets w him and the loser having to do what the winner wanted hehe. omg a double date w the miya twins would be sm fun tho??? from my impression of you so far, i definitely trust you to keep tsumu in line lmfao so catch me there. me and osamu are the ones spectating and judging your guys’ competitions and cheering you on to beat atsumu like we’re olympic commentators or smth LOL
aaaaa i’m honestly p shy but if anything can get me to come off anon, it’d be nanamin 😂 (it’s like we’re todo and yuji bonding over their shared type but w nanami skdjfjsjsjs) let me know if you prefer to keep it here or on discord and i’ll give you my account, whichever platform you like better! also congrats on 1k! much deserved!! 🎉
cut for length!
A;LDSKJ GOJO WOULD COMMIT TAX FRAUD. lmao salt is a lil mean!! sugar is more fitting <3 sugar is also used for more fun foods, and I feel like it matches him bc of his sweet tooth. but Nanami........ o lawd. definitely the whole spice rack yes. 100% agree. pls I would use him in everything. wait was that a weird thing to say?
ah I totally understand! well, u got this friend. the next time u go out for Mexican food, I’ll be there cheering for u in spirit!!
and yes.... ugh... I don’t think he’s particularly picky, he’ll try anything. he just doesn’t like foods that are excessive, if that makes sense? like what you were saying with the grease. I think he’s more the type to like subtle flavors. an obnoxious meat lover’s pizza from The Hut would be a no go, but he’s down for a, quote, Legit Pizza Place. the kind of Italian restaurant that’s authentic! but let’s admit it, by that point it wouldn’t even technically be “pizza.” authenticity comes with a price :’)
ty friend you’re far too kind 🥺 AND PLS YOU’RE MAKING ME BLUSH OVER MY LAPTOP HHHHHHH. I would love nothing more than to fill the Osamu-shaped hole in his heart once they both go into their separate careers. and god..... don’t encourage him. or me. I would definitely make bets w him. and I would win. but thank you sweet anon, I would do my best to keep him from annoying the shit out of you!! it would be an honor to have you and Osamu comment on our tomfoolery. 👉👈
MY GOD I WAS ABOUT TO KEYBOARD MASH AGAIN. we’re definitely Todo and Yuji.... u like Nanami and so now I’m obligated to imagine a whole life we coulda had together in high school together. even tho I graduated five years ago. and I’m assuming you did some time ago too since you mentioned you’re old...... lordt. anyway! thank you for the congrats!! I would love to discuss more headcanons and such w you over Discord! dm me and I’ll add you so that we can sob over Nanami’s absence in the anime <33
nanamin date anon said: me, rewatching eps 9-13 on replay until the new episode comes out: hahaha i love all the jjk characters equally! nanamin and *looks at smudged writing on hand* the extras
lol i love them all rly, it’s just super refreshing to have an adult like nanami in a shounen
haha yeah, i’m definitely glad i’m not the oldest (bc that’s way too much responsibility for me, idk how they do it) so being player 2 as a younger sibling isn’t too bad, especially since it’s the story that i’m usually more interested in rather than the gameplay itself. i don’t have to worry about remembering which buttons to press in a fight when i can just watch the plot play out lol. (it’s definitely a good game, i just suck at the controls 😅 my brother let me play a bit and i couldn’t get the web swinging down i was struggling so bad aslfjjfsjak) what sort of games are you into? 👀
even if it’s boring to some ppl, watching is a good way to experience the game for yourself as well, esp if it’s a single player game! ofc i do tend to prefer multiplayer games, but it’s not too dissimilar to watching someone play a sport tbh. AND NO KENMA IM PRO-SIDEQUEST LIVE OUT YOUR COMPLETIONIST DREAMS. if we gotta fetch that dude a super rare item to unlock his backstory we MUST do it ok
YEAH! mikorin is also voiced by noya’s va! it’s honestly a shame gsnk didn’t get a second season, it’s so good 😔
me: lol does that mean kuroo’s your tomoda
kenma: ok this date is over
LMFAOOOOO not my fault the popular choices are the ones that get you the good end 😤 and it’s all good, i’m also guilty of replaying to see how the other choices impact the story haha. if there’s no save system tho, i’d make him switch out w me every time we replay bc i’d zone out at all the repeat stuff (bless games that have a skip option 🙏)
UGH TELL ME ABOUT IT!!! ok so I love the other charas too but.... Nanami’s so good. so good. iono about you, anon, but I went back and rewatched his episodes from the dub and it made me Feel Things. and I agree, it is refreshing to see an adult like him in shounen. esp since he treats the kids like kids. and he makes it clear that their being kids is never a bad thing. I will reiterate: he’s so good.
ahhh friend that’s so nice!. your brother sounds really chill. plus it sounds like a good balance: you get to watch the story, and he gets to dick around!! win-win. and as for my fav games, I’m up for anything! I try to avoid co-op games like Overwatch bc I get too competitive and I’m a sore loser lmao (but they are fun!). the last games I played were the Last of Us 2 and Persona 5, two very different games, but stuff that’s a good time nonetheless. tbh as long as I can immerse myself in the story and there’s tons to explore, I’m down. what about you?? you’d kind of mentioned otome games and Animal Crossing, but I’m curious!
hm. interesting. that’s a nice way to look at it. I guess if it’s a really good game, it’s no different from an interactive movie! also Kenma would love that omg you’re going to save so many villages in the rpgs he plays w you.... gotta max out EVERYTHING. every side quest! every mundane task!! collect literally every feather!!! but I feel like he would pass the time by making idle conversation. like some dumb shit Lev had mentioned earlier that day. such a nice way to unwind at the end of the day, shit talking Lev w his fav person 😌
anyway! going back to completionist stuff: Kenma would have such a blast going back and replaying games w you! and yes bless games w a skip option hhh. thankfully he’d remember all your previous choices together, so he can help navigate where to go next. he has no qualms handing the controller over, I think he’d love to curl up next to you and analyze how you play! but I also feel like he’d be giving unwarranted suggestions....... thanks, Kenma.
also, about Mikorin’s va: WHAT. OH MY GOD. so many things to learn..... pls. indulge me w your trivia.

Not as it Seems
A Horror Septics Story
(This is not what I planned to post today, but things came up and I had this in the works. Enjoy reading the next series of events that happens to Stacy and her family, and also this weirdo called “John” who seems to know a lot. It’s pretty long, but not as long as the last one fjdskafh)
—————
There was a good few inches of snow on the ground, courtesy of the blizzard last night. Luckily the roads had been plowed quickly, or Stacy would’ve had a hard time driving. Still, the roads were slippery, and she elected to park two blocks away from the coffee shop and walk the rest of the way, braving the cold instead of risking driving the rest of the way.
Thus, she was even more relieved to step inside the warm, coffee-scented air of the cafe. She sighed, unwinding her scarf from around her neck as she scanned the shop.
“Stacy!”
Someone was waving at her from a table by the cafe’s front window. Stacy smiled, and walked over, sitting at the same table. “Hey, Jaqueline,” she said. “Sorry I’m late, driving was a bitch.”
“Ah, don’t worry about it,” Jaqueline said, leaning back in her chair. “I knew you’d show up eventually. You want to order?”
“Sure.” Stacy noticed the table was empty of drinks. “You didn’t order already?”
“Nah, I wanted to wait.”
“Aw.” Stacy smiled, touched. “You didn’t have to.”
“But I wanted to.” Jaqueline shrugged. “Besides, it’s no problem.”
The two of them went up to the counter and ordered. Stacy got a mocha latte with whip cream and Jaqueline got an americano. They chatted while they waited, just general small talk about the surprising blizzard last night, unusual for the area. The barista quickly filled their orders, and the two of them sat back down at the table.
“Y’know, you should really be wearing a coat, Jaq,” Stacy pointed out, taking a sip of her latte.
“Oh, I have a coat right here,” Jaqueline said. “I just took it off. Which you could stand to do, it’s warm enough in here.” She settled back into the seat. “So, how’s the job hunt going?”
Stacy sighed deeply. She shouldered off her coat, draping it over the back of the seat. “Not good. I keep getting denials online. Y’know, the whole ‘thank you for your application but we don’t think you’d be a good fit here,’ that whole shebang.” She tried not to let on how worried she was about it. She hadn’t gotten a job once since arriving in this new city of Rysbuwich. That was insane; surely she should’ve found something by now?
“Maybe you’re being too picky,” Jaqueline said, as if reading her mind. “You’re only going for food-related ones, right?”
“Well, I mean, that’s where all my expertise is, so yeah,” Stacy nodded. “It’s what’s on most of my resume. I’d prefer baking, like my old job, but I’ll take anything similar.”
“Hmm.” Jaqueline nodded. “That’s understandable. But, y’know, there’s only so long you can support two kids on unemployment. Maybe get a job you’re less qualified for, but one that’ll take anyone.”
“Yeah, I’ve started to do that,” Stacy agreed. Really, she’d only sent about two applications for positions like that, and both had been rejected. “I wonder if there’ll be a lot of those online...I’ve been seeing some help wanted signs around town, maybe I should just walk in.”
“Hey, it’s better than nothing.” Jaqueline chuckled. “Where have you been seeing them?”
“Uh...a bookstore, an arcade, a couple fast-food places, I think there was a toy store…” Stacy had been making a mental note of every place she’d seen one of the Help Wanted signs, but she couldn’t be sure she was getting them all. Staring out the window, she stifled a yawn.
“You seem tired, Stace,” Jaqueline said. “Long night?”
“Yeah, had something with my other friend,” she replied. “It went late.” She paused. “Y’know, I mentioned you, and he got real weird about it. Asked me if I knew your last name.”
“Really?” Jaqueline raised an eyebrow. “That’s a little weird. We only just met, and it’s not like people go around introducing themselves as So-and-so Last Name.”
“That’s exactly what I said!” Stacy laughed. “And, I mean, I don’t even know his last name, so it’s not really fair. Do you know my last name?”
“Yeah, it’s Allen, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. Guess I told you.”
Jaqueline smiled. “Yeah.”
Stacy paused, taking another sip of her coffee. “So, what’s yours?”
“Wait a sec, I just realized something.” Jaqueline frowned. “Your friend is a guy? And he got real weird about you seeing me?”
“Uh-huh.” Stacy nodded. “It was...it came out of nowhere, honestly.”
“Hmm.” Jaqueline pursed her lips. “You don’t think he could’ve been...well, protective of you? In like a...y’know. ‘Has feelings’ way?”
“Um...I don’t think so.” Stacy cast her mind back. “I mean, John’s a little...weird. Kind of crazy. Don’t tell him I said that,” she hurried to add. “‘Cause I know he has reasons for acting the way he does, even if I’ve never asked. And besides, he knows I’m still not over my, uh...he knows I’m not looking for a relationship.”
“Which is totally understandable,” Jaqueline assured her. “But I’m just saying, I’ve known some guy ‘friends’”—she made air quotes with her fingers on that word—“who would act weird and suspicious when their female friend started getting friends outside them. Just consider it.”
“I will, don’t worry,” Stacy took another drink. She really didn’t think John was the type to do something like that, but then again, she didn’t actually know that much about him. He helped her out back in the last town, Bronainise, with that...thing in her house. And she knew he had experience with things like that. And she couldn’t help but feel sorry for him after seeing him have that nightmare last night. But...she didn’t really know that much about him. She didn’t even know his real name. Stacy shook her head, putting those thoughts away for now. “Anyway, enough about me, how have things been going with you?”
* * * * * * * * * *
She arrived back home in a significantly better mood than she had been when she left. Being with Jaqueline always did that. They’d only met up twice since their initial meeting a few weeks ago, but Stacy could already tell she really liked her. There was just something about her that left Stacy feeling happy; like she was just full of energy and it rubbed off on her. She was really glad they’d met each other.
Walking into the house, she was greeted by the sight of Larkin lying on the couch, reading. “Hey, Lark,” she said. “What book is that?”
“Hi Mom!” Larkin said. He lifted up the cover for her to see. “I got it from the school library. It’s one of a bunch of series, The Magic Tree House. Mr. Teller said I’d like it.”
“Oh? And do you?”
Larkin nodded. “I like Annie.”
“That’s great!” Stacy smiled. Larkin was doing a lot better in English in this new school. Apparently all he needed was an encouraging teacher, who would point him towards books he would enjoy. He started to put more effort into trying to read, and had leaped ahead to be one of the best readers in the class. “Do you know where Mathew is?”
“Uh, I think he’s in the backyard.”
Stacy headed out back. Mathew wasn’t actually out in the yard, but she could clearly see him. Over the small brick wall. In the empty lot behind the house. She hurried over, snow crunching under her boots.
It appeared Mathew was talking with John, who had cleared a spot in the lot free of snow and was now trying to set up his tent. Stacy picked up their conversation as she approached. “—and I’m told that you get the true ending if you do a pacifist run, so you don’t hurt anyone, but I never got around to playing it when it came out,” Mathew was saying. “But I dunno...should I get it on my Switch?”
“Oh yeah, totally,” John said, busying himself with trying to set up some of the tent poles. “I played it, and I loved it. It’s seriously really good, totally worth your allowance.”
“You did?” Mathew asked skeptically.
“What, just ‘cause I live in a tent and don’t own anything electronic now doesn’t mean I never did,” John joked.
Mathew smiled a bit. “Are you sure you don’t need any help?”
“Nah, I’m good. Thanks for asking, though.” John glanced over, noticing Stacy. “Hey.”
“Hey,” she said. “Just checking on you two.”
“We’re good, Mom,” Mathew said, with a hint of what she called the “duh” tone that teenages sometimes used. “I just wanted to talk to John about games.”
“Nice.” Stacy nodded. “I’m going to make lunch. You good with sandwiches and chips?”
“Sure.”
“Um...John, do you want lunch, too?” Stacy asked tentatively.
John shook his head, not looking away from his tent. “I’ll get something somewhere.”
“Where?”
John shrugged. “You know.”
Stacy frowned. “Alright. I’ll make an extra one, if you change your mind.”
“...thanks,” John says softly. He managed to pull one of the tent poles into a standing position, using a spare rock to pound a stake into the ground. “So, Stacy. You, uh...saw your friend today?”
“Yes, I just came back,” Stacy said. Mathew, sensing the appearance of adult small talk, turned and hopped back over the wall into the yard and then the house. “It was nice.”
“Good. Good.” John sounded a bit curt. “Had fun?”
“...yeah.” Stacy narrowed her eyes. “You sound a bit, um...is everything okay with you?”
“With me, yeah. What about you?” John finally looked over at her.
“I mean...it’s going alright,” Stacy said haltingly. “I’m still looking for a job, but at least I’ve made a friend.” A friend, being key. Jaqueline was the only person she’d met in town who’d seemed interested in...well, meeting up with her more than once. Though it was hard to meet up with people when you didn’t have a lot of places to go. No job to socialize, and Larkin and Mathew were still making friends of their own so she couldn’t even chat with their friends’ moms.
“Hmm…” John pulled the other tent pole into place. “How’d you meet...her? She goes by Jaqueline, right?”
“Yes, that’s her name. We, uh...met in the grocery store.” Stacy smiled awkwardly. “I was shopping, she was shopping.”
“She approached you and started talking, then?” John drawled.
“Yeah.” Stacy couldn’t quite remember their first conversation, but Jaqueline had been so friendly it had left a good impression of her. “That’s how most conversations work. Usually you don’t walk up to someone and go ‘hello, there’s a demon in my house, can you help me?’”
“It really, really isn’t a demon in that house,” John said, frowning. “I told you why I don’t like that word for them.”
“Mm-hmm.” Stacy watched for a bit, just long enough to make sure John got the tent up. Then she turned around. “Well...I’ll be around.”
“Wait!” John suddenly stood up.
Stacy spun back around. “What? What is it?”
“I…” John now seemed to be regretting calling after her. “You, uh...really like this friend, huh? Y’know you should be, um...you should be careful about talking to strangers.”
“Yeah...I know.” Stacy raised an eyebrow. “I’m not seven years old, I know all about stranger danger.” Evidently she was feeling a bit sassy today. “Trust me, I know what I’m doing.”
“I know. You’re, uh. You’re smart.” John shifted awkwardly on his feet. “Very careful, I could tell when I saw you. Just, uh...remember to be careful, okay?”
“...okay.” Stacy backed up. “Talk to you later.” She turned and left, glancing back over at John as she hopped over the wall. John still seemed to want to say something, but she walked away before he could.
* * * * * * * * * *
The next morning, she went driving around town while the kids were at school, looking for a few of those Help Wanted signs she’d seen throughout the town. Retracing her usual routes, she was sure she’d run into one of them. But to her surprise, there wasn’t a single one. Strange...she wandered around for a while, glancing into store windows, but still saw nothing. After a bit, she stopped outside a bookstore that she distinctly remembered had a Help Wanted sign in the window. She would go in herself, talk to an employee, and see if they were still hiring.
Walking in, she was greeted by the small tinkling of a bell and soft music. It was a big enough shop, but still had the sort of atmosphere of a small bookstore. Stacy immediately thought that this wouldn’t be a bad place to work. She walked up to the counter, looking around. There was an employee with their back to her. “Um...hello?” she called. “I have a question.”
The employee straightened, and turned to face her. “Stacy?”
“Oh!” Stacy blinked. “Jaqueline! I didn’t realize you worked here.”
Jaqueline chuckled. “Really? I could’ve sworn I told you. Thought you were checking up on me.” She frowned exaggeratedly. “Aw.”
“I mean, if I’d known I might’ve,” Stacy said. “Are you guys, uh...hiring?”
“We were, but the position was filled yesterday,” Jaqueline sighed. She pointed down the shelves at a young man. “New guy right there. Sorry. It would’ve been great to work together.”
“Yeah.” Stacy sighed. “It seems nice. Looks like they have a lax uniform code to start, if they let you wear your jacket.”
“Hey, it’s cold. Management understands that.” Jaqueline smiled.
Stacy smiled back, but it quickly faded. “I just...I could’ve sworn there were more people hiring in town.”
“Well, jobs at places like this tend to get snatched up quickly. High turnover rate, y’know. I’m even new here.” Jaqueline reached over the counter and put her hand on Stacy’s shoulder. “It’ll be okay, y’know. Someone with your skills is sure to have many opportunities.” Jaqueline withdrew. “Most organizations actually favor online applications over in-person ones these days. Keep trying there, and keep talking to them about the application. It’ll get you somewhere eventually.”
“You think so?” Stacy asked.
“I know so,” Jaqueline said, reassuring her.
Stacy breathed out. “Thanks.” She already felt a bit calmer about the situation.
“Hey, you want to meet up next week? Maybe on Friday?” Jaqueline asked. “We could spend an evening together.”
“Yeah, that sounds great. I don’t have anything else to do.” Stacy paused. “Well, I’ll see you then, then?”
“I’ll meet up outside your house,” Jaqueline said.
Stacy frowned. “Do you know my address?”
“Yeah, you told me. And I told you mine, remember?” Jaqueline shook her head. “Sometimes I worry about your memory, Stace.”
“...huh.” Stacy considered this. Maybe her time back in Bronainise with the thing in her house had messed with her memory. Who knew? “Well, see you.”
“See you.”
Stacy left. She didn’t bother to check any of the other places she thought had hiring signs. Evidently all those posts had been filled.
* * * * * * * * * *
The week passed quietly, without change, and soon Friday arrived. Stacy was about ready to go out to meet Jaqueline when she got a call from the babysitter.
“Are you absolutely sure you can’t make it?” Stacy asked.
“Sorry, Ms. Allen,” the sitter said. “Nobody could’ve seen this coming. And it is an emergency.”
“It is, it is,” Stacy said, nodding even though nobody could see her. “Sorry to hear about it, by the way. Good luck.”
“Thanks, Ms. Allen.”
As soon as the sitter hung up, Stacy sighed, staring at the phone screen. It froze for a moment, the image freaking out briefly before settling to normal. She filed that away in her mind, to be worried about if it came up later. The more pressing concern was what she was going to do now. She’d promised Jaqueline she’d meet up with her, and though she trusted Mathew to be able to watch Larkin and himself for a day, she worried about the two of them being left alone for the night. Should she...just leave and trust the kids for the night? No, what if something happened?
Just at that moment, she heard a knocking sound. She jumped, and spun around, peering into the kitchen where the sound came from. John was standing at the glass door at the back of the house. He knocked on the glass again.
Stacy walked on over and opened the door. “Hi. What’s up?”
“I really need to talk to you,” John said.
“Oh, um. Okay. I was actually planning to go out—”
“With Jaqueline?” John interrupted.
“Yeah,” Stacy said, surprised. “How’d you know that?”
“Just a guess,” John said. “Look, that’s what I need to talk to you about. She’s not what you think she is.”
“You’ve never even met her,” Stacy muttered.
“You’re right, I’ve never met Jaqueline,” John said. “But—”
“Well, then, why do you care if I’m going out with her?” Stacy asked.
“I just don’t want you to get hurt!” John slammed his hands down on the kitchen table. “Look, you barely know this—this person.” He spat out the last word like he couldn’t come up with something better, and thought the one he’d found didn’t quite fit. “For all you know, she could be  a serial killer!”
“I barely knew you when I gave you a ride to this town,” Stacy pointed out. “You were in the car with my kids and me for two hours, and you didn’t take the opportunity to do anything.”
“Yeah, but I’m different!”
Stacy blinked. “Wow. That sounds...kind of…” Entitled, if she was being honest.
“Okay, maybe I could’ve phrased that better,” John admitted, backing down. “What I mean is that...I-I know what she is.”
“A woman?”
“No!”
“Oh wow.” Stacy took a step back. “Look, don’t take this the wrong way, but I don’t think you, as a man, have the right to judge someone on their womanhood. Especially someone you’ve never met before—”
“What—how the fuck did you jump to that conclusion?!” John gaped at her. “Look I didn’t mean it like that—”
“Um, kinda sounds like you did—”
“No shut the fuck up and let me talk!” John blurted out the words, and immediately his expression shifted to regret. “...sorry.”
Stacy took a few steps backwards. “I think we both need some time to cool down,” she said after a while.
“No, look, this is important, I have to tell you before you meet...your friend,” John said, approaching as Stacy retreated. There seemed to be genuine fear and concern in his visible eye. “I-I—what I mean to say is that, this friend of yours isn’t actually your friend.”
Stacy sighed, irritation rising. “You still don’t even know her. I’ve barely told you anything.”
“You’ve barely told me anything because you barely know anything!” John’s voice became hushed. “If I asked you what her eye color was, would you be able to tell me?”
“Of course, John.”
“Alright, what color are her eyes?”
“I don’t see what that has to do with anything,” Stacy snapped. “Look, she’ll be here any minute. I gotta go.”
“Just answer the question!” John suddenly lunged, grabbing onto her wrist as she turned to leave.
Stacy yelped, and instinctively slapped him across the face, startling him enough to get him to let go. Immediately, she backed up and then turned and ran. She was at the front door and heading out before John even had time to call out to her.
There was a car outside the house. When Stacy approached, she saw Jaqueline inside, who rolled down the window. “You okay, Stace?” Jaqueline asked. “You look a little shaken.”
“I’m fine,” Stacy dismissed. “Tell you about it later.” She rounded the car and got into the passenger side door. “Let’s just go.”
* * * * * * * * * *
Jaqueline ended up driving the two of them to a part of town that Stacy wasn’t too familiar with. When the car pulled into a parking lot, Stacy looked out at the nearby building and immediately frowned. “Is this a bar?”
“Well, no, it’s a restaurant with a bar inside it,” Jaqueline said. “Why, is that a problem?”
“Um...I don’t drink anymore,” Stacy explained uneasily.
“That’s alright, we’ll just get food,” Jaqueline said. “This place has great chicken.”
“...well...I do like chicken,” Stacy said slowly.
“I know! You’re gonna love it here, just give it a chance.” Jaqueline smiled, and stepped out of the car. Stacy hesitated, then followed.
They ended up sitting at the bar area, but that was because the place was packed. It seemed that this was one of the most active places in town, and on a Friday night that meant there was barely any room to sit anywhere. It also meant the wait for food was long, so Jaqueline suggested they ordered drinks to start. Stacy agreed, but stuck with just water while Jaqueline jumped straight into ordering a martini. After their drinks arrived, Jaqueline asked, “So, are you gonna tell me why you were so shaken when I went to pick you up?”
“Hmm? Oh, I did say I’d tell you later, didn’t I?” Stacy sighed, and took a big drink of her water. “Nothing, it’s just...I had a fight with my friend.”
“The same friend who started acting weird when you mentioned you were hanging out with me a week and a half ago?” Jaqueline asked.
“Well...yeah,” Stacy admitted.
“Hmm,” Jaqueline hummed. “What about?”
“Uh...well...you.” Stacy muttered the last word into her drink.
“Oh. Well, then.” Jaqueline sipped her martini through a straw, finishing the whole thing in one big drink. “That’s an interesting coincidence.”
“I mean, it’s not a coincidence,” Stacy said. “He just...really thinks I shouldn’t be hanging out with you.”
“I see. You ever ask him if he, y’know, liked you? In that way?” Jaqueline flagged down the bartender again, ordering another martini.
“No, but I can tell it’s not just that.” Stacy took another drink. “He’s paranoid. I think he thinks you’re gonna be, like, a murderer or something.”
Jaqueline laughed. “Wow. We’ve never even met! What have you been telling him about me?”
“Nothing, really. Just the normal stuff.” Stacy paused. “I mean, I understand why he is the way he is. Something happened to him that made him so crazy. And, well, at this point, it is a little crazy to be so paranoid about someone you don’t know. But there’s a reason, and I know it’s a bad one.” She sighed. “I feel kinda bad for fighting with him.”
“Hey, no matter what someone’s past is, that shouldn’t lead them to interfering with other people’s lives,” Jaqueline said.
Stacy nodded. Slowly at first, then she sped up. “Yeah, you’re right. You’re right.” She took a sip of her drink through the straw.
“Honestly if he’s bothering you this much about it, it sounds like it’s a problem that needs to be addressed,” Jaqueline said.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, if you’re right and something happened in his past that made him like this, it sounds like any paranoia on his part is kinda just a reaction because of how, like, his mind formed or something,” Jaqueline said. Her voice, though it wasn’t any louder than anyone else’s, really stood out against the background chatter of the restaurant. Its familiar tone was soothing. “Maybe he should talk to someone professional about it. Sort out these issues.”
“Huh. That’s a good point.” Because John clearly had some sort of issues. Stacy had noticed them. He was paranoid about everything, about people with phones, about strangers, and about so much more. He lived in a tent, and she got the feeling that was because of a choice he made and not because he had no other option. Or maybe it was both. And she hadn’t forgotten how he had a criminal record back in Bronainise. For petty things, like pickpocketing and minor vandalism, but still. He had a past of being a bit...disruptive.
“Maybe you should just, like, remember that,” Jaqueline suggested. “I’m not saying you do anything about it unless it gets bad. You want a second drink?”
“Huh? Oh sure.” Stacy waved the empty martini glass she was holding. “Didn’t even realize I finished.”
“I’ll get you another one of those.”
“That would be great. Thanks.”
* * * * * * * * * *
The next thing Stacy knew, she was waking up on a cot in a holding cell at a police station with a pounding headache.
“Wh…?” Stacy tried to sit up, and immediately winced as the ache intensified. “Um...hello?”
A uniformed police officer outside the cell turned to look at her. “Oh good. You’re awake.”
“What...am I doing here?” Stacy asked, looking around.
“You don’t remember? Well, it doesn’t surprise me.” The officer shook her head. “With a BAC of 0.21, I’m surprised you were even able to keep walking.”
“Wait, I’m sorry, what?!” Stacy tried to stand up, but instead ended up rolling out of the cot onto the floor. “Th—that’s impossible, I don’t drink!”
“Well, you did last night,” the officer said, raising an eyebrow.
Stacy shook her head in disbelief. This was impossible. She’d sworn off drinking. “What happened? Why’d I get arrested?”
“Disorderly conduct,” the officer explained. “You and some other lady were making a ruckus on the street, walking all along Fleet St. for a couple hours. Ended up throwing some bottles and tipping over wheelie bins.”
“Oh my god…” Stacy whispered. “This other lady, where is she?”
“Some family member of hers posted bail an hour ago. She said she’d be back to post yours. Should be any minute now.”
Stacy nodded vaguely, muttering another “Oh my god…” before settling down on the cot. She put her head in her hands and started to wait. She’d sworn off alcohol. After her husband died, she fell pretty hard into that rabbit hole. She hated it, but she’d hated remembering what happened more. She was lucky enough to pull herself out of it. But it seemed that last night she relapsed. She’d thought she was doing pretty good...but now,the whole town will only know her as the lady who caused some crazy drunk disturbance.
It must’ve been ten minutes later when Stacy heard, “Wow...you don’t look good.”
Stacy looked up, and sighed. “Thanks, Jaqueline.”
“No problem.” Jaqueline flashed a smile of teeth, then nodded at the police officer, who unlocked the door of the holding cell. Stacy quickly left. “Wow, crazy last night. I’ve never been arrested before.”
“Really?” Stacy asked idly.
Jaqueline shrugged. “C’mon, I’ll drive you home. God, that whole thing last night must’ve been crazy. I walked out of the station and all the officers were staring at me.”
Stacy winced. Then the first statement really registered. “Oh my fucking god, I need to get home! I left the kids!” She hurried out of the station, Jaqueline following close behind.
* * * * * * * * * *
When Jaqueline dropped her off at her house, Stacy immediately rushed inside. “Mathew?! Larkin?!” she called, running into the living room. Upon not immediately seeing either of the boys, she ran down the hall, tripping over her own feet. She cried out, catching herself by grabbing the wall.
“Be careful, there.”
Stacy paused, then backed up, glancing into the entrance to the dining room. John was inside. He was sitting on the floor, back braced against one of the dining room chairs, one of her books in his hands. “How’d you get in here?” She asked, startled.
John folded over a corner of the page and set the book on the chair behind him. “You let me inside last night, remember?” He said, standing up. “And when you left, I figured, y’know, nobody was here to watch your kids for the night.”
Stacy flinched. “I-I didn’t mean to leave so suddenly. The sitter quit, she had a call from her mother in the hospital—I was going to stay, really!”
“Hmm.” John folded his arms. “I do agree it was...most unlike you. You must’ve really, really wanted to meet up with your...friend.”
“Well...yeah, but I wouldn’t have—!”
“Yeah, you would’ve,” John muttered. “When in this situation, anyone would’ve.”
Stacy blinked. “What?”
“Tell me, Stacy.” John took a few steps towards her before stopping and leaning on the nearest wall. “Why do you hang out with this...person?”
“Wh...Jaqueline?”
“If that’s what you want to call—yes, fine, Jaqueline.”
Stacy frowned. “John, you really shouldn’t be so concerned with this. You’ve never even met her, why do you care so much about me—”
“Because you just up and left your kids!” John suddenly shouted. “Overnight! In a town you’ve only lived in for a month and a half! For what, this thing?! Stacy, we haven’t known each other that long, but I know you wouldn’t ditch your kids without supervision to go out with friends. I can tell you care about them too much to do that. So maybe you should think about why you left them last night and I had to stay in your house with your fucking computer and electronics just so I could make sure nothing happened to them!”
Stacy bit her lip, holding back an immediate response. She took a few deep breaths before continuing.  “John...I didn’t mean to leave last night. I was angry and not thinking clearly, but I know I shouldn’t have left all night.” She paused. “I...actually got arrested.”
John blinked, then his eye suddenly went wide. He ran over and grabbed her by the shoulders. “What did you do?! What did it make you do?! How are you back here now?! What does it plan to do next?!”
“Jesus christ!” Stacy grabbed John’s wrists and threw his hands away, taking a few steps back. “What are you talking about?”
“You don’t know?!” John suddenly calmed, shaking his head. “No, of course you don’t, I was talking to you earlier and you still called it by that name, but what’s it going to do next? What is it planning? This isn’t normal, it’s moving too fast.”
“John…” Stacy said softly. “Are you alright?”
“What?” His head snapped up. “Well, technically no, but as of my current standard of ‘alright,’ yeah, I guess.”
“Look, it’s very weird—no, that’s the wrong word, I mean...I know you’re aware that this way you’re acting isn’t normal,” Stacy emphasized.
John laughed. “Nothing about me is normal anymore.”
“It’s, um...it could be harmful,” Stacy said delicately. “To yourself, or others. Maybe you should talk to a therapist about it.”
That just made John laugh harder, bracing against the wall. “Oh, that’d be a great idea! Y’know I don’t really feel like being put in an institution again! Honestly, what I should be doing at this point is be fucking dead, but no way! Not gonna let that happen! It’d just love that!”
Stacy took another step backwards. “Look, I know it seems a bit ridiculous, but...I’ve been thinking recently, and you...well, you need help.”
John’s laughter suddenly cut off, and he leveled her with a single-eye stare. “Did your Jaqueline tell you that?”
“Look, this is exactly what I’m talking about!” Stacy said, exasperated. “You’re so focused on someone who didn’t even do anything.”
“Oh, a lot of people would disagree with you on that,” John muttered.
“Jaqueline is the one person who’s been friendly to me in this town!” Stacy shouted, her voice cracking. “She’s funny, gives great advice, always wants to hang out—”
“—makes you so happy to be around that you can’t wait to meet up again,” John jumped in. “So happy that you probably don’t even remember that you’re still looking for a job, or that your kids sometimes need help with school, or that you’re running out of food in the fridge—yeah, I checked that. A happiness so intense that it’s basically an addiction.”
“You don’t get addicted to people, John,” Stacy said flatly. “Look, I gotta check on Mathew and Larkin. I don’t...can you leave? By the time I get back downstairs?” Without waiting for an answer, she turned and went back down the hall. She felt John’s gaze on her the entire way, but when she came back down, he had left, just like she’d asked.
* * * * * * * * * *
Two days later, she finally found a place with a Help Wanted sign in the window. Her mood immediately lifted. She’d been applying heavily online, calling businesses just to make sure they were absolutely sure there wasn’t a spot open, but had got no results. This could be the game changer. She walked inside; this place was an arcade, so she was instantly hit with a wall of beeping electronic sounds and flashing lights. She walked up to the counter and asked, “Hi, I noticed you had a hiring sign? Is that still applicable?”
“Oh, yeah,” said the employee at the counter. “Hang on, let me get my manager, he’ll talk to you about it. Brenda? Can you man the till?”
Only a few minutes later, Stacy was sitting at a table in a back room, talking to an older man who identified himself as the manager and owner. An interview! Finally. And so quickly, too. Maybe she’d finally get a new job. And from there, she could continue her search on the side, but at least she’d have a source of income besides unemployment and her savings.
“Alright, just one more question, I have to ask this for security reasons,” the manager said, writing something down. “Do you have any sort of criminal record?” He asked the question like he already knew the answer.
“Oh...um…” Stacy tried not to squirm. “I mean, I got...arrested once.”
The manager stopped writing and looked up at her.
“It wasn’t for anything bad!” Stacy hurried to say, before it suddenly occurred to her that this would seem super suspicious. “I just—it was really recent, it was just for disorderly conduct, I got drunk—” The manager frowned slightly. “—but it was just a few days ago, and it was just the one time!”
“I see.” The manager wrote something else down. “Well, thank you Ms. Allen. Can I get your phone number? We’ll be in contact.”
Stacy gave him her number, but walked out of the building with a heavy heart. ‘We’ll be in contact’ was what employers said when they weren’t really considering you.

“Hey, Stace!”
She was in the grocery store, three days later, and her lingering gray mood hadn’t faded. But then she looked up and saw Jaqueline approaching. Her mood suddenly lightened, and she beamed. “Hi, Jaqueline.”
“You looked a bit down before I showed up,” Jaqueline said in a joking tone. “What’s up?”
Stacy sighed heavily, grabbing a box of Lucky Charms from the shelf—it was Larkin’s favorite, but harder to find in this country. “I just...still haven’t had luck.”
“With the job hunt?”
“Yeah, and just...life.” She put the box in her cart. “I swear, people keep staring at me.”
“Me too,” Jaqueline said, tone sympathetic. “I think someone filmed us last Friday night and shared the video online, so we’re pretty well-known now.”
“Oh…” Stacy groaned. Of course it would be like that. Of course life would add another scoop of ice cream to the bad-luck sundae that was the past few years of her life. The metaphorical bowl must be overflowing by this point. “So now we’re both known as the crazy drunk ladies.”
“Yeah, it sucks,” Jaqueline sighed. “But, y’know, you look even more upset than that would warrant.”
“I just...still no job. Mathew and Lark are having a hard time making new friends. And now nobody’s gonna want to talk to me…” Stacy sighed again, this time blinking away tears.
“Maybe you never should’ve moved here,” Jaqueline said.
“Maybe I never should’ve moved here,” Stacy repeated. “Yeah...I mean, why’d we have to leave the whole town? The thing was probably only in that house, we could’ve just got a new one. The kids would be a lot happier, too.”
“Wait, you want to leave?” Jaqueline asked.
“I mean, nothing’s been good ever since we got here,” Stacy said. “I can’t work, I’m fighting with John all the time, I got drunk for the first time in months...yeah.”
“Aw, but I’ll miss you!” Jaqueline whined. “But...I understand. It’s for the best of everyone.”
“Yeah…” Stacy nodded slowly. “Yeah, it’s for the best.”
* * * * * * * * * *
She started idly making plans to move back to Bronainise. She didn’t book a moving van, or go online to look for houses like she had upon initially moving away, but she did bring it up with the kids. Larkin seemed vaguely okay with it, like he didn’t really care, but Mathew was confused about moving back when they’d only been there for a little under two months. Stacy had explained that she could tell the town wasn’t a good fit for any of them, but he’d still been a bit upset about so many moves in such a short time. But he relented.
Stacy was a little concerned about what to do with John. He probably wouldn’t want to move back, but should she ask him anyway? After all, if it hadn’t been for her, he wouldn’t even be in this town in the first place. Maybe she should at least offer to give him a ride. But then again, she hadn’t been seeing much of him lately.
Until about four days after she’d initially gotten the idea to move back. She pulled into the driveway after picking up the kids from school, and was greeted by the sight of John, wearing a backpack with his rolled-up sleeping bag attached, carrying a full duffel bag, rounding around the side of the house. She stepped out, followed soon by the kids. “What’s going on?” she asked, confused.
John stopped, letting go of the duffel bag. “I’m moving. I packed everything up, and I’m leaving.”
“...oh.” Stacy said. “Um...why?”
John rolled his visible eye. “Because you clearly don’t want me nearby, of course.”
“Hey, that’s not true,” Stacy said. Behind her, she heard Mathew and Larkin climb out of the car and walk up the drive to the front door, going inside. “I’ll be in in a minute, boys!” She called after them.
“Look, I think it’s best for both of us if I leave,” John said. “I never meant to hang around anyway. But I’m human, we get attached. Unless we’re pretending.”
That was an odd statement. Stacy stepped forward. “If this is about something I said, I’m sorry—”
“It’s not just that,” John interrupted. “Look, before I go, I just want to straight-up tell you what I’ve been trying to get at for the last three weeks. Apparently just hinting at it hasn’t worked.” He paused. “Your friend, Jaqueline? Is not human.”
After a long, quiet moment, Stacy sighed deeply. “John—”
“I know, you think it’s your friend, your only friend,” John pressed forward. “But it’s making you think that. You haven’t talked to anyone else because it’s made you focus on it. You’ve been acting weird because it’s been influencing you. You shouldn’t trust it.”
“John,” Stacy said sadly. “I really do appreciate you helping out with that thing in the house, but not everything is tied back to something supernatural.”
John laughed. “Oh, you don’t know my life. But trust me, this time, it is. I’ve seen this thing in action before.”
“John…” Stacy could only shake her head. He must’ve been so immersed in this world, so affected by whatever happened to him, that he saw it everywhere. “I’m sorry—”
“Y’know, I believe you, in some way,” John interrupted. “But this just proves I should go.” He picked up the duffel bag again. “Maybe we’ll see each other again.” And he started walking down the sidewalk, snow crunching under his feet.
Stacy watched him go. She wanted to say something, but couldn’t think of what. After a few seconds, she turned, and went inside.
She didn’t see the way John froze, stopped walking, and looked back.
* * * * * * * * * *
Inside the house, Stacy was dialing a number on her phone. She waited anxiously while it rang.
The other line was soon picked up. “Hello?”
“Jaqueline?” Stacy asked, already her mood brightening.
“Yeah, Stace? What’s up?”
“I just...I just wanted to talk to you.”
“Aw, that’s great! Hey, why don’t we meet up tonight? What about seven, in the park?”
“Sounds great.”
“You should bring your kids, too. I’ve always wanted to meet them.”
“Alright.”
“And we might be a while, so like, grab some entertainment for them. Books and stuff, y’know.”
“Yeah, they’ll get bored soon if we’re gonna go do something.”
“I’ll see you then.”
“See you.”
Jaqueline hung up. Stacy realized she’d been smiling the whole time. Well, that would be something to look forward to.
* * * * * * * * * *
Just before seven, Stacy gathered her kids and their entertainment and piled them all in the car. Of course, Mathew and Larkin questioned it. She explained that her friend wanted to meet them, but that they might get bored. Neither of them seemed too happy about that explanation.
“Mom, isn’t it a little late?” Mathew complained. “Larkin has school tomorrow.”
“I don’t mind staying up,” Larkin piped up.
“It shouldn’t take too long,” Stacy assured them. “Jaqueline’s great, you’ll like her.”
Mathew groaned. “Do you want us to call her ‘Aunt Jaqueline’?”
“Of course not!” Stacy said. “Not if you don’t want to.”
“Mom, I can watch Lark for the evening, it’s fine,” Mathew insisted. “You can go.”
“It won’t take too long,” Stacy repeated. “You have your Switch, fully charged. What would you be doing at home? Playing on your Switch.”
Mathew grumbled at the accurate statement. Meanwhile, Larkin was staring out the window, frowning. “Where are we going?” he asked.
“To the park, honey,” Stacy replied.
“I don’t wanna go,” Larkin whined.
“Why not? It won’t take too long.”
“I dunno,” Larkin said. “But I don’t wanna go.” He slumped in his car seat. “It feels...like this isn’t good. A bad idea.”
“It’s just a short meet-up, Lark,” Stacy said gently. “If you still want to leave after, just let me know, and I’ll drive you back home.”
Larkin still looked a bit upset, almost nervous, but accepted this. The rest of the drive was silent, and soon Stacy pulled up to the city park. “Alright, here we are,” she said, opening the car door and stepping out. It was a bit darker than she’d expected, the sky a dark, dusky blue. It was cold too, but luckily she and the kids had thought to bring their coats. Snow covered the grass in spots where there would’ve been shade in the daytime, and it crunched under their feet. There was a hole in the park, marked with stakes around it, attached with tape. A large shovel was shoved into the ground, standing upright. Stacy glanced into the hole. There was a pipe running along the ground. It appeared this was maintenance for something or other, probably a water pipe. Stacy ushered Larkin away from the hole, just in case.
“Hey Mom?” Mathew asked. “Is that your friend?”
Stacy glanced up. There was a figure standing nearby, underneath an elder tree. She instantly recognized the red hoodie. “Yes, that’s her,” she said, smiling. “C’mon.” She grabbed Larkin’s hand and walked on over, Mathew following close behind. “Hey!” She called.
“Hey, Stacy,” Jaqueline said, waving. “Glad you could make it. These are your kids?”
“Yep.” Stacy closed the distance between her and Jaqueline. “This is Mathew, and this is—Larkin, what’s wrong?”
Larkin had stopped walking, and now looked very pale. He pulled on Stacy’s hand, backing up.
Mathew, noticing this, frowned. “Lark, what’s up?”
“Moooom?” Larkin said in a whisper-shout. “I think we should leave. I don’t think your friend is coming.”
Stacy blinked. “What are you talking about, sweetie? She’s right here.” She pointed at Jaqueline.
Larkin whimpered slightly, and tried harder to pull Stacy away, causing her to stumble.
Jaqueline laughed. “Wow, he must get his sight from his father.”
“What? I mean, if you mean he has his father’s eyes, that’s not right, you can see he takes after me there…” Stacy trailed off. What an odd thing to say.
“Ah, I’m sorry, it’s dark,” Jaqueline said dismissively.
“Oh. It’s okay.” Stacy turned her attention back to Larkin. “Honey, what’s wrong? Do you want to leave?”
Larkin gestured for her to bend down. She did so, and he got up on his tiptoes to whisper in her ear: “Mom, we need to leave soon, before the monster catches on.”
The genuine fear in his voice made Stacy’s heart stop. This wasn’t even the sort of fear she’d heard in his voice when he was younger and scared of monsters under the bed. This was raw, real, life-under-threat fear. “What do you mean?” She asked quietly.
Larkin glanced back over at Jaqueline. “Mom,” he whispered. “I think the demon is tricking you.”
Slowly, Stacy straightened. She slowly looked back over at Jaqueline. This was...this was wrong. Why would Larkin be so afraid of her, call her a monster and a demon? She was perfectly normal.
But...
John had warned her away from Jaqueline. And...and he would know, wouldn’t he? He had a lot more experience with this kind of thing. He’d straight-up said that she wasn’t human, that she was tricking her. And Stacy had brushed it off as paranoia. Which...was sort of true, John was a bit paranoid, but he also knew his stuff. Wasn’t it a good idea to listen to the expert, even if the expert was a bit strange?
Jaqueline laughed. “I’m not good with kids,” she said dismissively. “Maybe he should wait in the car or something.”
“Alone?” Stacy asked, frowning.
“Of course not! The other one can go with him to make sure everything goes okay,” Jaqueline said, her tone soothing. “It won’t be too long while we talk.”
Stacy found herself relaxing, but then it struck her that she shouldn’t be relaxing. She wasn’t about to leave her kids alone in a car while it was dark out! Why would Jaqueline suggest that? Didn’t she know that wasn’t something you were supposed to do with kids?
Wait...had she ever told Jaqueline that she had kids?
She couldn’t remember...
In fact, she couldn’t really remember the specifics of most of their conversations. When she tried to recall how she’d met ‘Jaqueline,’ she only came up with a vague, fuzzy memory of being in a store somewhere.
She squinted at Jaqueline. “You’re just wearing a hoodie. No coat? There’s snow and everything,” she said slowly.
“Oh, I had a coat. I left it in my car cause I didn’t think this would take that long,” Jaqueline said dismissively.
But there wasn’t another car nearby. Actually, she couldn’t even remember what Jaqueline’s car looked like. “And...the hood up?” she asked. “It’s dark.”
“Oh, it’s not too dark.” ‘Jaqueline’ laughed. “What is this, an interrogation? I thought we were just gonna talk.”
Stacy didn’t say anything. She was too busy thinking. Had she ever seen Jaqueline without the hood up? In fact, had she ever seen her without the hoodie?
She then remembered one of the very first questions John had asked her about Jaqueline: What color are her eyes?
She realized she didn’t have an answer. She couldn’t picture Jaqueline’s eye color in her mind. She couldn’t even picture the shape of her features, or recall the pitch of her voice.
Eyes wide, Stacy took a step back.
Jaqueline tilted her head, and took a step closer. “What’s wrong, Stace? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
“Um...Mom?” Mathew asked, confused. Suddenly remembering her kids, Stacy pushed Larkin behind her and went to stand in front of Mathew.
“Hey, don’t be like that,” Jaqueline said. Her voice was soothing...intoxicating.
“I just remembered—we left the lights on,” Stacy said casually. “Don’t want to run up the bill. We’ll be right back.”
“It won’t be that bad if you leave them on for a couple hours,” Jaqueline said in that lovely, luring voice. “Don’t worry about it. You worry too much, Stace. I just want to tal—”
WHACK!
Jaqueline’s head whipped to the side as she was hit with enough force to knock her over. Stacy blinked, stepping back, pushing her kids behind her. She looked to the side, and then she saw him. “John?” she whispered.
John backed up, holding a long shovel in both hands—the one from the hole she’d seen earlier. He was breathing heavily, at first looking a bit panicked, but then he turned his eye to Stacy and the kids, and his expression softened with concern. “Are you okay?”
“Y-yeah,” Stacy said. “How’d you—”
Crack.
The noise drew her attention back to ‘Jaqueline.’ She watched as she—it—slowly stood up. Its head was twisted to the side, far more twisted than it should’ve been. Stacy gasped softly. It rolled its shoulders, the movement accompanied by snapping, crackling sounds. The sounds of bones and stiff flesh. Its hands reached up and grabbed its head, twisting it back into place with one more Crack. A smile stretched its face, just a bit too wide. “Well. That was rude.”
Larkin cried out, burying his face in Stacy’s side. Mathew’s eyes widened. “What the fuck?!” he shouted, staggering backwards. Normally Stacy would’ve chastised him, but in this case, she’d allow it, as she pushed him back behind her.
Before anything else could happen, John stepped in front of Stacy and her kids, holding the shovel in both hands like a weapon. “Back off,” he said, voice firm.
The thing that looked human laughed. “Or what? Are you going to hit me with a shovel again?”
“If I have to,” John retorted. He glanced over his shoulder at Stacy, his eye darting between her and the surrounding areas before turning back to look at the thing.
The smile stretched wider still. “Wow. Good luck with that. This has nothing to do with you, øħŐÁê. Unless...oh, oh you’re the friend she keeps talking about, aren’t you?” John didn’t answer, but the thing gasped like he had. “Oh, you are! She’s calling you John, I suppose you don’t object because it’s not too far off. You’ve been warning her away from me, but she hasn’t listened, has she?”
“Hey, I mean, it paid off in the end.” John glanced back at Stacy again, who was frozen in place, trying to figure out what that one word the thing had called John was. “Here we are, she’s on the other side of you. You failed, so go. Isn’t that sort of your thing?” John looked around the surrounding areas again, glancing back at Stacy with some urgency in his eye. What was that…? Stacy realized he was glancing back towards where she’d parked her car. He was telling her to run.
“So you assumed I wanted her for myself?” The thing sounded amused. “Oh, no. I’ve found humans with children are more resistant than the ones with no family. They have that connection.”
Stacy glanced back at Mathew and Larkin, squeezing Lark’s hand. She also glanced in the car’s direction, and luckily her kids were a lot quicker on the uptake than she had been. Mathew nodded firmly, and Larkin squeezed her hand back, biting his lip and straightening.
Confusion crossed John’s face. “...what?”
“Humans know each other, do you not think that things like us know each other?” The thing smirked. “Misery loves company, and I’m willing to do it a favor.”
The confusion gave way to realization. “Oh my god…” John whispered. Stacy tensed, her eyes wide as she reached the same realization.
“Gods have never been any help to you,” the thing said tauntingly. “Now, if you’ll just step aside—”
John stood up straight. “No.”
The thing’s mouth curved into a scowl, and for a moment its teeth seemed a bit too sharp. “Move,” it growled.
“No. What’re you going to do, kill me?” John smirked, suddenly confident. He gave Stacy one last look. She nodded imperceptibly. A part of her wanted to ask what he was going to do. She didn’t want to just abandon him. But...she had her kids behind her. They were practically everything she had left. She had to protect them at all costs.
Oddly, the thing seemed reluctant to move forward with John in the way. It stepped to the side, only for the movement to be shadowed by John. It hissed, and looked over his shoulder, gaze landing on Stacy. “Hey, Stace,” it said, tone shifting into something more human than not. “Maybe we should—”
Stacy turned and ran, grabbing Mathew by the arm and pulling him and Larkin behind her. She heard a decidedly inhuman shriek, followed by a few sounds of footsteps, then John yelled, and there was a heavy thump! Mathew tried to look over his shoulder, but stumbled and faced forward again.
They reached the car quickly. Stacy pulled open the driver’s side door. “Get in, get in!” She shouted, and Mathew and Larkin climbed into the car through the driver’s door. Larkin tumbled over into the back seat while Mathew smushed against the passenger side window and tried to untangle his legs and sit. Stacy turned the keys—which she just now realized she’d left in the unlocked car—and the engine started. Without even bothering to put on a seatbelt, she hit the gas and threw the car into reverse. It shot out of the parking space, and after a moment of squealing and turning, darted off.
“Mom…?” Mathew said slowly. “What’s going on?”
Stacy glanced at him. “It’s...a long story, Mat. Just...remember how our last house had a ghost?” Mathew’s eyes widened, and she looked away again, back into the park. She could make out two figures rolling around, one apparently pinning the other to the ground. Hitting the brakes, she watched, trying to make out details. But they were...fuzzy. Her eyes were going out of focus, her vision doubling at times. She backed up, pointing her car towards the fighting pair and turning on her high beams. Light flooded the scene, just in time for the figure being pinned to throw off the other and back up. That one was wearing a red hood…
Instinctively, Stacy hit the gas and the car lunged forward, surging over the curb, across the sidewalk and onto the grass. The red hooded one stood up, and seemed to look in her direction, surprisingly unbothered. But perhaps she was making that up, since it was only a few seconds before the front of the car slammed into the red hooded thing. Stacy shouted, Mathew yelled, and Larkin screamed as they all felt the four wheels bump over something. Stacy quickly hit the brakes again, jolting forward. Pain burst in her face, and blood started to trickle from her nose. “Ow! Fuck!” She shouted instinctively, then turned to look at her kids. “Is everyone alright?”
Mathew sat up straight, rubbing his forehead where it had hit the dashboard. Larkin poked his head around the back of Mathew’s seat, looking shaken but unharmed. “We’re okay, Mom,” Mathew muttered, and Larkin nodded.
“Good,” she muttered, and then she rolled down the window and poked her head out. “John?!”
John was standing a mere six inches away from where the car had barrelled forward. After Stacy called for him, he grabbed the back car door and threw it open, climbing inside. “Jesus fucking christ, Stacy!” He shouted.
“Look, I panicked, I didn’t want you to get hurt!” Stacy said.
“Fucking hell!” John slammed the car door closed. “Drive!”
“Drive?” Stacy repeated, puzzled.
“Drive!” John twisted over and pointed out the back windshield.
Stacy turned around to look, as did Mathew and Larkin. There was a crumpled form laying on the ground, but soon it began to move. Bones audibly snapped back into place, and the thing in the red hood arched its spine, lifting itself up onto its hands and feet in an extreme backbend. With another jerking motion, it elevated onto the tips of its fingers and toes, balancing its whole bent weight on those small points. Its head cracked to the side and back, and its smile widened.
“Oh fuck!” Stacy hit the gas again, just as the thing rushed at them, still in that bizarre bent-backwards position. Stacy swerved to the side and back onto the sidewalk, then off the curb onto the road again. As soon as she hit the road, she sped up even further.
“What was that?! What was that?!” Mathew cried.
“Mat, it’s a monster! Demon!” Larkin said. “Duh!”
“Don’t tell your brother ‘duh,’ Lark,” Stacy said automatically. “And yes, it’s a monster.”
“It was doing like, the crazy thing from The Exorcist!” Mathew shouted. “I thought that was Mom’s friend, was it possessing her?!”
“I don’t think so, honey,” Stacy said. “I think it was always like that, but it made me think it was a human, a-and it got close to me, and—wait, when did you watch The Exorcist?”
“Mom, I think there are more important things to think about right now!” Mathew protested.
“Yeah, I gotta agree with him,” John jumped in. “Keep driving!”
“I’m not stopping!” Stacy snapped. “Why don’t you drive?!”
“I don’t know how,” John said casually.
“You know what that was,” Stacy said to him. “You warned me against it. Then you hit it with a shovel!”
“I would not recommend anyone else to do that,” John said. “That’s just my special circumstances.”
Stacy laughed hysterically. “What special circumstances would let you wrestle an—an eldritch horror to the ground and walk away unhurt?!”
“What, do you want my whole life story?” John asked defensively.
“No, but maybe just something! I’m so sorry for doubting you,” Stacy hurried to say. “Really, I am. But I really don’t know—well, anything about you! I don’t even know your real name.”
John laughed. “I told you my real name! Guess you forgot, too.”
“When did you do that?” Stacy asked, confused. “Did that...thing mess with my memory? Can it do that?”
“Slightly, I think,” John said. “Really it just...it’s really good at suggesting things, to say the least. You lose track of time. Want to spend more time with it. Will do anything it asks. Last time I saw it, it had wormed its way so far into someone’s head that it made him lose his fucking mind, the guy was so out of it and just screaming for this thing to come get him.” He shivered a bit. “Anyway—”
Slam!
Stacy screamed as something hit the back of the car. Something red that rolled right off the back windshield, leaving a long group of five scratches. The kids screamed in unison. “Holy shit! What the fuck?!” Stacy started to hit the brakes, then glanced in the rearview mirror and saw a figure in a red hood standing up. She then decided to speed up instead of slow down. “How’d it get here so quickly?!”
“Oh, what, you think the laws of space govern these guys?! No! If anything, it’s the other way around!” John looked out the back again. “Fuck, you need to get out of town. There’s no time to get anything from your house.”
“What? Noooo,” Larkin protested.
“Lark, honey, do you want the demon to find us again?” Stacy asked.
Larkin closed his mouth, and silently shook his head.
“It doesn’t usually follow people who get away,” John muttered. “This is weird…” He glanced at Stacy. “Did you get the same feeling that I got?”
“That this thing was somehow working with the thing in that house?” Stacy asked.
John nodded.
“Well, if we get out of the city, it’ll leave us alone, right?” Stacy asked hopefully.
“Uh...no.” John sounded almost apologetic. “I know this one. It’s not bound to one place like the house thing was. It’s a wanderer. It’ll be able to follow us anywhere we go.”
“What?!” Stacy slapped the steering wheel. “Where are we supposed to go, then?!”
“Uh…” John trailed off. “I mean...you can always do what I do and...go around. Not stay in one place too long.”
Stacy paused. “Wait, is this thing the thing that…?”
“Ohhhh, no.” A slightly unhinged smile grew on John’s face. “Definitely not.”
Stacy fell silent for a while. She appeared to be concentrating on the road and not hitting anything at high speeds, but she’d still glance back at John every so often.
“Look, what do you want me to say, Stacy?!” John suddenly snapped, picking up on the glances. “That I clicked on some random video online that I thought was just an ordinary scary Internet video like fucking Blair Witch and then the video freaked out with glitches and my life went to shit from that moment on?! Cause, y’know, I don’t feel like talking about my time in literal hell!”
“Okay, I’m sorry,” Stacy said. Then she sighed, and repeated, more sincerely, “I’m sorry. I’m just...we can’t just wander around. The kids need stability, and to, you know...not be in danger.”
“That would be nice,” Mathew muttered.
John nodded silently. After a moment, he said tentatively, “There...might be one place it won’t follow us.”
“Where?” Stacy immediately asked.
“It’s a town in Ireland,” John said. “It won’t go near there.”
Stacy paused. “Why?”
“Uh...well.” John hissed, sucking air through his teeth. “More...supernatural shit. But if you don’t go into the woods, you should be okay. And at least you can, y’know, stay there. Instead of travelling all around Europe, afraid for your life.”
Stacy thought about it for a while. It was either this, or constantly flee. She sighed. “Alright, fine. How do we get there?”
“Uh, well, first you need to get to Ireland, so head west.” John glanced out the car window. “We’ve left town already, I see.”
“West. Okay.” Stacy awkwardly dug her phone out of her pocket—difficult under most circumstances, more dangerous when she was going this fast. She handed it to Mathew. “Mathew, can you use my GPS, please? Tell me how to head west.”
Mathew nodded, opening up the Maps app. Then he suddenly gasped. “I left my phone in the house.”
“We left a lot in the house,” Stacy sighed.
“I mean…” John piped up. “I grabbed your handgun.”
Stacy jumped, then coughed as Mathew and Larkin stared at her. “You...did, huh? When?”
“That night you left the kids alone and got arrested,” John explained. “I found it in your room. Wanted to make sure you didn’t...have anything that could hurt anyone. So I, uh, confiscated it. Put it with the rest of my stuff.” He paused. “Uh...then, earlier today, when I started to leave, I, uh...decided I couldn’t just...y’know, leave...you alone. So I, uh...put my stuff in your trunk.”
Stacy blinked. “Oh...I didn’t lock it?”
“You did. I picked it.” John smiled faintly. “Handy trick I figured out.”
“...huh.” Stacy bit her lip. “Maybe you can teach us how to do that.”
The car sped through the dark night, heading west, not stopping for as long as possible. And somewhere else, a thing in a red hood eventually stopped following. If they were heading where it thought they were heading, it would probably be for the best if he stayed away.
Still, there was more than one way to skin a cat. And more things hidden in the darkness that would be willing to help.

Omg, I just read your Dimitri x s/o who is afraid to be alone in the dark and I love it so much! Could I request a part two to it?
I’ll write part two to take place in the future / after the war, since part one was already post time skip!
You can find part one here!
I hope that this one is good, I’m not 100% sure how I feel about this one. >_
Dimitri x Reader - S/O who is afraid of walking alone in the dark part 2
About a year or so had passed since the rather embarrassing yet endearing event had happened, where Dimitri just so happened to chance upon you at night in your room debating and arguing with yourself on whether to get water in the middle of the night or not. As embarrassing as it felt, it was also something that brought the two of you closer together, especially when you cuddled with him in his room for the rest of the night as a “punishment” for all the teasing he did.
By now, the war had ended and the two of you had a wedding to be planned, amongst all your new duties that needed to be completed. It was quite hectic, and the two of you hadn’t much time, aside from the nights, to be alone together. Time with each other was even more limited however, when it was insisted that you stayed in a room other than Dimitri’s due to “Traditions” and “You’re not married quite yet, even if you did sleep next to each other during the war, that’s somehow different now.” and your all time favourite, “It’ll cause a scandal for his majesty if word ever got out to the public.”
It was a pain, really, all you wanted to do was spend the night with your fiancé. You just wanted to hug him and cuddle him while you’re getting ready to sleep, tell him how much you love him and- No. You would not idly sit aside and let them decide what you can and can’t do, you’re an adult, you can make your own choices. With a puffed up chest and a pout on your face you marched up to your room door, hand reaching out to open it before faltering.
The castle, unfortunately for you, somehow seemed even scarier than the monastery was at night. Perhaps it’s because of the size, or how dark and deep each hallway is, but the place sure looks like it could swallow you whole, to never see the daylight again if it had wanted to. And thus, started yet another battle with yourself. It was time to pep yourself up once more in order to gain the courage needed to press onwards; The courage needed to visit your fiancé late at night when it was dark both inside and outside the castle.
“Alright (y/n), you’ve fought in a war, and won it. A little darkness shouldn’t be so bad. Plus if you run you’ll get there faster! Dimitri’s room isn’t that far away... As long as I’m quick, it’ll be a small two minute run! Besides, the castle is a safe place, there are plenty of knights guarding the place, so the chances of something happening is very unlikely. Let’s be rational here. Let’s be reasonable. Deep breaths. Breath in... hoooooo..... and out! Haaaaaa...” You continued on with you monologue, slowly trying to calm yourself and build up the courage to face your biggest nemesis; the darkness.
When suddenly the knob twisted itself and in came Dimitri, with a teasing smirk on his face. Your face instantly flushed red, knowing he had once again heard you. Just what kind of luck was this? One time was embarrassing enough, but twice? You swear, he has a detector on him telling him when you’re acting like this just so he can see you flustered.
“I came here to visit you to see how you were, but it seems like perhaps you wanted to come and see me instead. My room isn’t too far down from here, but perhaps if it would comfort you more, I could ask for more lights to be set up, so it’s less intimidating for you?” His arms gently snaked around your waist, pulling you close to him as he continued to tease you with a cheeky grin on his face.
“Is it such a crime for me to want to spend the night with you? Besides, those hallways at night time do not look welcoming at all. Surely you can agree with that statement. With another person, it wouldn’t be so bad, but walking through it alone is a different story.” Your lips pouted and you huffed as you reached your own arms up to wrap him in a hug, laying your head on his chest. With a sigh, you expressed the frustration of not being able to be with him at night, “It feels empty, not being able to do something so simple as sleeping next to you. We used to do it just fine during the war, and no one said anything about it then, so why be picky about it now?” You asked softly, your voice sounding more like a whimper than anything.
One of his hands gently ran their way through your hair, caressing it as to comfort you. “I know, it seems silly. And quite frankly, it is. That’s why I actually...” He paused before clearing his throat, pulling you back a bit to look into your eyes, “I wanted to ask if perhaps we could spend tonight together, just like before. We don’t get to spend nearly enough time together, not alone at least, and I much prefer sleeping with you at my side. You’re my beloved, my light, the one who silences the voices no matter how loud they get, even at night.” He slowly brought you back in again, grazing his lips against yours, “You’re to be my queen, after all.” He stated before pushing his lips against yours into a firm, but loving kiss.
“Yes, let’s spend the night together. I need and want you by my side as much as you need and want me by your side, my love. There’s no other place I’d rather be than in your arms tonight, Dimitri.” You reached a hand up, cupping his face affectionately.
He simply nodded and guided you over to the bed, pulling the covers over the two of you as he held you close; His arms felt so safe, so secure. The two of you murmured to each other words of affection as you slowly drifted off to sleep, cuddled up to one another. It was the best sleep you’d had in quite a while, even if you did get scolded as soon as you woke up.

Note
all.....all of the fanfic asks :>
Hey! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
1. If you’re an author, how many WIPs do you currently have? (Be honest!)
Two, if I only count the ones that have at least part of an actual scene written for them and which I still intend to finish someday. (Because otherwise, they're not works in progress, are they? :P) Three if I count the one that's still in the idea stages but is starting to be fleshed out a bit more.
2. What’s next on your ‘to-read’ list? (Fan fiction or otherwise)
City of Stone and Silence by Django Wexler. Everyone, please give his books a try if you're into fantasy. They're so good. He's written for adults, middle grade, and YA, and all of it is fantastic. He's probably my second-favorite author atm (because I love Seanan McGuire and her writing too much to give the top spot to anyone else XD).
3. Do you prefer canonverse or AUs?
Yes.
(Seriously, I like both. I guess my very favorite would be canon divergence—where we're still in the canon universe but one or more things change)
4. What fandom’s/ship’s fan fiction do you read the most?
I don't think there's a clear winner? I bounce around a lot because I read too fast and am too picky with my preferences for one fandom to sustain me. I guess out of the fics I'm following that are still updating at least somewhat frequently, it'd probably be more-or-less a tie between BnHA and Trollhunters/Tales of Arcadia. But that only means, like, 5 – 6 fics each compared to 3 – 4 for most other fandoms, so. Not a big difference. ^^;
5. What’s a crackship you love?
I…can't think of any. ^^;
6. What’s the last thing you read that made you laugh?
I don't really remember. Maybe the newest October Daye book? Tybalt can usually make me smile even if he wasn't in this one much.
7. What’s the last thing you read that made you cry?
No idea. ^^; Probably a fanfic, but beats me which one it was.
8. Bed sharing or roommates AU?
Hmm…roommates, I guess?
9. Fake dating or arranged marriage?
Probably arranged marriage.
10. Mutual pining or enemies to friends to lovers?
Enemies to friends to lovers.
11. Kid fic or childhood friends?
This…depends a lot on how you define kidfic. If it's "the characters raise a kid together" then…I'm not all that interested in either, but I'd probably take childhood friends, depending on the plots of the individual stories. If it's "the adult characters when they were kids", then…they're almost the same thing, unless you're writing adult characters who grew up as childhood friends, and either way I have no real preference for either. If you define kidfic to include de-aging fics, then I'll take kidfic. Such a surprise, given my current WIP, I'm sure. :P
12. Friends with benefits or secret dating?
I guess secret dating, though I'm not fond of either.
13. Exes or established relationship?
Established relationship.
14. (For authors) Post a line of dialogue from one of your WIPs without context.
“Perhaps we should give him what he wants. There is no need for him to remain on the island when he is this desperate to leave.”
15. Post the last line you wrote without context.
Robin's neck prickled. That timing had been far too convenient. The librarian had likely known where the book was the entire time, if there was even a book at all.
(This is technically the last line I edited; the last new line I wrote was in the chapter I just posted and I have no idea which one it would be)
16. Describe your WIP that currently has the highest word count.
That would be Dissonant Echoes, so…The Straw Hats arrive on a mysterious island. Zoro disappears and comes back as a kid with strong negative reactions to the rest of the Straw Hats, and they have to find out what happened and try to fix things.
17. Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage.
A full AU, tentatively titled Praying to Embers. More-or-less modern times. Luffy and his friends come to an island on vacation (still working out which SHs come with him and which they'll meet there). They arrive just in time for a festival celebrating the island's god, Roronoa, and at the festival they meet Zoro, a local who Luffy ropes into being their tour guide. He's not very good at the guiding part, but Luffy's sure they'll be great friends, which is good for Zoro, because he's really going to need some friendly help soon, if he can learn to trust them before it's too late.
This is what I'll be writing after DE, barring a new idea taking me hostage unexpectedly.
18. Do you have a fic reading/writing routine?
Reading, not really, unless you count downloading fics to my kindle and doing most of my reading: in the bathroom, while waiting for laundry or food to be done, when I’m supposed to be sleeping, etc. Well, that and reading on the computer, trying to see the screen past my armful of big fluffy kitty while he kneads my neck and shoulders and arms and face. >.<; Writing, I like to have a cup of tea before I start, I guess? And usually some music.
19. What’s your favorite character headcanon?
I…can't think of any right now. ^^;
20. Do you have a favorite fanfic or author? If so, tag them/post a link and share the love!
I don't think I have a single favorite. I'm not sure I could even narrow it down to a half dozen, haha. But I'll link a few fics (not going to tag anyone because I don't know everyone's tumblr, if they even have one, plus that would be putting myself out there a bit more than I feel comfortable with atm. If one of the authors of these fics see this, I love your work and I'm sorry for being such a shy anxious mess ^^; ).
Going to keep it to one per fandom so this doesn't get obnoxiously long, though for most of them (looking at BnHA, Detective Conan, Coco, and ToA in particular), you can assume there are at least one or two other fics I like just as much as these.
From Muddy Waters, Boku no Hero Academia, by HLine
Want and Need, Fate/Zero x Fate/Stay Night, by Kiiam
The Case of the Missing Detective, Detective Conan, by Utukki
Don't Listen to Kafka (series), Tales of Arcadia, by Archaeopter-ace
A Pound of Flesh, Tokyo Ghoul, by notitlesapply
Population: 1, Voltron: Legendary Defender, by AvaBlook
El Camino a Casa, Coco, by Bookwormgal
The Human Mask, Natsume Yūjin-Chō, by harunekonya
Half of these are WIPs that haven't updated in years, which is really depressing T-T And I'm absolutely sure I forgot some, even limiting it like this, but they'll just have to wait for another time.

Rev Recaps Hard Contact (Chapter 10)
CW: murder, death in combat, slightly graphic descriptions of corpses
TL:DR Recap: Etain and Dar go to one of Jinart’s safehouses and are immediately betrayed, which yet again, kind of justifies Etain’s paranoia. Darman kills a man, which perturbs Etain. Omega steals mining equipment and accidentally captures Guta-Nay. Hokan is pissed that Dar and Etain got away, and reveals that Jinart literally murdered the collaborators and tore them to pieces.
unfortunately, after posting the last recap I saw two Kal mentions in Chapter 9 that I missed, so we’re starting at a Kal count of 18.
Beginning Kal Count: 18 Ending Kal Count: 19
I regret to inform you I missed TWO references from Niner about Kal in chapter 9, so we’re starting at a Kal Count of 18.
I won’t screenshot the opening quote, but it’s basically a notice to the farmers on Qiilura that anyone who has Republic soldiers on their land without knowing will be sold into slavery and anyone helping the Republic on purpose will be shot. It does provide some needed framework for the rest of the chapter. Then we open in Darman’s pov, and IDK, I just kind of like the opening line. He still thinks of Kamino as “home” apparently at this point in time.
Tumblr media
Etain is still being kind of unfairly snarky, and Darman’s at a loss what to do about it.
Tumblr media
“Darman took is as a sensible observation rather than an insult.” Etain isn’t really being great right now, I recognize that, but I still love that line.
Anyway, they stop at the first safehouse and Etain goes to knock. Darman hates feeling obvious and exposed, and compares his lack of ability to blend in to, you guessed it, Skirata.
Tumblr media
Kal Count raised to 19, BUT so far I think that’s the only one in this chapter.
Anyway, the house is empty; the family fled in the middle of a meal. Darman is still overly cautious, and walks Etain through house clearing procedure, even though her Force-sense tells her it’s safe. He points out that she can’t sense a tripwire that would murder them, even though Jedi Danger Sense is an established thing in the EU by this point and-
Sorry.
He also redirects her when she’s peering over his shoulder into the pantry instead of standing guard at the door and watching their gear, although he’s gracious enough to admit it had probably never occurred to her with Jedi senses.  While he raids said pantry with the intent to test the food for toxins later, she goes to fill bottles of water from a pump outside, and he asks why she isn’t using a filter. Again, we were just giving Etain shit a few chapters ago for being too paranoid and now she’s asking if he was trained by Nemoidians, but honestly I’m feeling kinder to Dar than Jinart because it really is a culture clash.
Tumblr media
Yet again, I wonder how the Kaminoans can afford to kill that many clones out right when each clone is such an investment to rain and train in terms of both input and time.
Darman doesn’t know what to make of a Jedi who isn’t the perfect demigod he was promised, which is affecting his trust levels. And Etain hasn’t been helping a lot with that. But she does notice something is wrong with him; she just doesn’t know him well yet, so she assumes it has something to do with his physical injury.
They eventually make it to another safe house, when they meet a woman “with a face like a gdan”, several children, and a few other adults. Dar is briefly overwhelmed because it’s the first time he’s seen this many humans who aren’t clones. I guess the commandos never saw their Sergeants group up.
Tumblr media
Darman places mines all around the entrance to the building before he goes in, which I’m sure would win him no love even if the farmers weren’t already under threat of execution or slavery. The family at the safehouse says very little, outside of one woman who wants to know how the Republic is better than the Nemoidians, but they do attempt to feed Dar and Etain, which I have to say, is generous for the kind of place they’re living in. Or would be, if the family weren’t planning to sell them out & use the food as a distraction.
Tumblr media
Dar, honey, she’s going to be able to read you in the Force better than anyone else in the galaxy by the time this is over and you’ll like it, so you might as well just buckle up.
Also, clones are able of discerning thoughts/behavior patterns/moods really easily through minute observation and there’s nothing ruling out Etain doing the same her, but I guess it makes sense he jumps to mind reading the way the Kaminoans built up the Jedi.
Tumblr media
Lots of little thoughts here. There’s post to be made based on a conversation I had with rey-skywalkin-away about Etain and food that I’ll save for another day, but for now, let me just say as much as KT tries to present Etain as a picky/snobbish eater, lemme just say that I don’t blame Etain in the least for being suspicious when the last stew Jinart tried to serve her included grains literally picked out of the manure on Etain’s cloak. Also, it’s still kind of sweet that Darman notices she isn’t eating enough and immediately offers her his bread, even though he’s in heaven getting “real” food. It’s generous.
But good things never last, and Etain pretty much immediately is warned by the Force that someone is approaching unexpectedly. Darman flips out and the family immediately flees, which only confirms his suspicion. Dar and Etain brace for combat, while Etain uses Force-sense to pinpoint the incoming enemy forces. It’s actually kind of a great little action scene for the two of them.
Tumblr media
“She put her lips so close to his ear he jumped.” Idk, I just giggled at that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s just kind of a great little moment, getting to actually see Etain use her Force skills competently in an action scene. But of course, it immediately devolved. Darman, being raised to be a soldier, kills the one surviving Separatist, who’s injured on the floor. Etain, being raised a Jedi, doesn’t understand. Again, it’s a culture clash, but given the military focus of the books, we know who the narrative thinks is right.
Tumblr media
I STILL WANT TO KNOW... who the hell were the clones supposed to be killing on Kamino? I can’t imagine the Kaminoans would let the clones kill even “worthless” Kaminoans, for fear of the armies they were raising getting ideas. I suppose Jango could have snuck back a bounty that was supposed to be dead every now and then, but that wouldn’t be a lot of people for training with 3,000,000 men.
Also, Darman literally had his freak out over killing people on page 56 of this same, book, so it comes off as a tad hypocritical, even though this isn’t the last time he’ll not understand what Etain is upset about wrt killing.
Anyway, Darman is shot in the shoulder, though it’s a minor wound, they’re now on the run with no “safe houses” to hide in, and at the end of this scene, when Darman asks if Etain can sense droids, we find out she can’t when a droid starts shooting at them.
We then skip to Niner and Atin and Fi raiding a quarry for droids/explosives/equipment. I’m not gonna lie, I could care less about the plot of this section. This is my third time reading it and I’m still fuzzy on it. But it has a few fun little moments:
Tumblr media
Atin is tricky. Also, I’m pretty sure that if this wasn’t a Star Wars book, that line would say “pants-shittingly nervous” rather than “drink-spilling”. With the facility seemingly cleared out, Niner and Atin go in to loot it, and we build some more on the “Atin is the tech guy” thing.
Tumblr media
Except the guard shack isn’t empty. Guta-Nay (again, the would be rapist) has been hiding there, since Hokan wants him dead. Guta-Nay tries offering various bits of information if Niner will keep him alive, and KT really, really leans in to the whole “to stupid to function” thing, which is still making me uncomfortable, but comes to a head a few chapters from now. Eventually, Niner concedes that they’ll take Guta-Nay prisoner rather than kill him. Atin is displeased, but starts leveraging it to try and find a technical solution to one of their other problems.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Niner, you should absolutely keep thinking mean thoughts about Vau.
Atin hacks some droids, and they’re going to use them to move the mining charges and smuggle them into the places that need to be blown up, including the Nemodian comm relay in Tekklet. Atin still does not like Guta-Nay.
Tumblr media
And then one bit that really makes this scene:
Tumblr media
Tiny bit of foreshadowing for Triple Zero and True Colors. GREAT moment of Fi’s typical sass. “Don’t stand there being so ugly, man. You’re scaring him.”
We then close the chapter with Hokan being pissed that Darman and Etain escaped. I’m not going to spend too much time on it, because it’s mostly Hokan yelling at his subordinates.
Things that are of note,  with a CW for a graphic description of mutilation of corpses: this is what Jinart went and did to the collaborators.
Tumblr media
As negatively as Traviss paints them, I actually feel really bad for the farmers in this book. She’s not much sympathetic to them, and she explicitly goes out of her way to show why you’d be stupid to sympathize with them, but on the one hand you have the Separatists and Hokan torching these people’s land, selling them into slavery, and executing them. On the other... you have Jinart.
On top of which, they’re literally starving because of the Nemodian’s financial control of their lives. They don’t even have 21st century plumbing, in Star Wars. Whatever point Traviss thinks she’s making about unworthy civilian/local populations, it rings kind of hollow in the face of that information, because I can understand exactly why the NPCs act the way they do, even if they’re technically in opposition to our protagonists.
Anyway, Hokan pulls all droids out of Tekklet, where the comm is, to guard Uthan’s facility. He tells his men he wants either Darman or Etain alive, especially if Etain is a Jedi. Preferably both of them. Again, remember, he tortured Kast Fulier to death with Fulier’s own lightsaber, so remember what we’re working with here.
And that’s where the scene ends.

Starco Fic Recs
Disclaimer: This list is largely curated to my own personal preferences (minimal feelings angst, minimal AUs, character development >>> plot) and has a fairly high bar for quality in characterization, etc. There will likely be many popular/beloved fics that I really don’t think highly of at all and therefore don’t make the cut. Feel free to DM me things you think I should consider adding, but I make no promises.
And of course I’d be flattered if you gave my own works a chance - stop by my About Me section for links! Thus far I’m particularly proud of the post-canon series I just started in collaboration with an awesome team, The Greatest Gift.
(Updated 9/26 - I decided to redo the list since people might appreciate seeing it in the tags again. To anyone whose own work is featured here that I haven’t personally responded to - I’m a tough critic with a lot of strong personal preferences so PLEASE do not take my gripes as condemnations of your skills - if they make the list at all, I think they’re worth a read!)
See below for the very thorough list!
Bolded titles indicate must-read.
Italicized titles indicate work is incomplete (in the case of continuous stories).
Asterisks indicate new additions from last update (3 for brand new, 1 for status update).
I’ve VERY loosely organized the categories by personal priority order this time around, but read the descriptions and decide for yourself!
Must-Reads
Forevermore - A Starco wedding story (with a bit of Jantom as well). Simply one of the best fics I’ve read in the fandom. I have no meaningful criticism to give it, and that’s the highest praise I can possibly give something.
Monarchs of Mewni (+ Traditionally Lovingly Yours) - A series of chronologically disconnected oneshots set years after the show. The backstory is very dated given how long ago it started (Jarco was kinda serious for a few years, Tomstar v2 never happened, etc) but overall it’s lovely. Has a bit of plot, a bit of Jantom, a lot of other character interactions, and a boatload of Starco - plus a Starco kid who is a decently developed character but also doesn’t just take over and crowd out Star and Marco themselves! That alone deserves merit.
Ruined - Aftermath of a hypothetical return of Monster Arm. Angst with a happy ending (and one of the few angsty fics that gets my seal of approval), so read this extra early if that’s more your schtick than mine.
study buddies - Y’know what, fuck it, I’m putting this here. It’s a short ball of Starco fluff but it’s one of the sweetest and fluffiest fluffballs I’ve seen in a long time and it’s very emotionally immersive and y’all needa read it.
*When Two Worlds Collide - One of my favorite postcanon series thus far. I admit I’m really not big on “magic returns!” plots in postcanon (which this has), and the sections that focus on that are hit or miss for me, but overall it has some of the funnest and cutest characterization and gags I’ve seen in any SVTFOE fic, ever. Absolutely worth following (and it has a fair amount of art to go along with it!)
***Star Chef - Oneshot (two chapters, so twoshot technically?) set in the same universe as Starlight Justiciar (see below) and is just a day in the life of Star and Marco. Goes absolutely above and beyond at emotional immersion and little nuances and details to bring the world and characters to life, which elevates it to something special to me.
Light of the Sun and Stars - (Promoted to Must-Read!) One of the few heavily divergent AU fics I care for. Marco is an orphan raised by monsters, and meets Star after running away. Just finished its “first season” and I've loved the recent chapters, am very excited to see where it goes.
*Don’t You Let Me Go - Wonderfully fluffy post-Cleaved Starco, one of my favorite oneshot “epilogues”.
i want to tell you (but i don’t know how) - Post season 3 fic detailing the growth of Star and Marco’s relationship. It’s spectacular writing and shows off a lot of the true depth of Starco beyond just being cute.
Adult - NSFW warning, non-explicit (aged-up characters). It’s a story about the journey towards Star and Marco’s first step into adulthood together -  it’s not graphic and way more focused on the emotions involved, but it still is definitely more explicit than your average FFnet rated-T fic. If sexual themes ain’t your thing, I totally respect that, but this is a charming and funny piece of writing.
Lawchan’s various oneshots - There isn’t a great compilation for them right now so the best I can do is give you her tag for it and you can comb through it yourself. I like some more than others here, but they’re all very well-written - my only gripes with some of them are my own tastes in subject matter, so have fun perusing this on your own.
I Will Always Be There For You - A really pure and wholesome Starco oneshot. Very well-written.
Post-Canon Series to Follow
I figured with the show being over, and so many people starting their own series, I should include a lot of them here even if I’m personally not the biggest fan just to help gather them up so people can decide for themselves. Little bit looser on judgment here.
*Life on Earthni A to Z - Non-chronological postcanon slice of life oneshots, Starco and some Globclipsa and Jantom. Overall really good so far, one of my favorites in terms of direction.
*When Dimensions Cleave (sequel - Unforgettable Getaway) - Another postcanon series hellbent on bringing back magic queen lore, but it has some solid Starco fluff still. Credit where it’s due, the “Star constantly freaking out over what a horrible person she was” bit that I called preachy in the prior rec post gets somewhat less preachy and does end up actually going somewhere as part of character development, but I’m left scratching my head at how they all act sometimes. The good parts are certainly good, though, and in terms of quantity of lovey dovey Starco, it really can’t be beat (especially the sequel) and that’s worth something by itself.
We’re a Miracle - Extra adorkable postcanon fluff. Lighter on the “but ACKSHUALLY MAGIC IS BACK” stuff compared to the others, but it’s there, like almost every postcanon fic in existence.
Star vs the Sands of Time - Heavy politic/lore postcanon fic, not my fav but if that’s more your thing then great. Has some casual Starco too.
Goodbye Isn’t Forever - More POV dives into Cleaved.
Fake Proposal - Some decent jokey but cute fluff
The Stars Above - Some exploration of Earthni
New World - A bit over-the-top meta, but fun fluff
The Starlight Justiciar - Four years after canon, some social change plot stuff and some decent Starco. Not the biggest fan of some of the plot stuff but check it out for yourself!
Starco vs the Forces of Evil - Another collab fic/art thing. Fair warning, I really am not personally a huge fan of a lot of the characterization and plot decisions here (see my notes on Sign of the Moon waaaay down below) but decide for yourself, don’t let my pickiness dictate your own preferences!
Ready For The Future - Technically a oneshot (with some Starco) but sets up some Mina plot, if you’re interested in more give it a follow/review.
Worlds Together - Some Starco and exploration of Earthni.
Epilogue -  Some Starco and exploration of Earthni.
***A Dark Horse - Has a few really nice lovey dovey Starco bits but also lots of superdrama with politics stuff. There’s a lot of fics here that I honestly just windowshop the scene I like for a quick fix of dopamine every now and then and skim at most otherwise, and this is one.
Revolution - end of canon AU where Moon is as anti-monster as Mina, dark as fuck. Only putting it here cuz some of y’all angstlords might like it.
Shorter Works/Oneshot Collections
I’ll Carry Your World - Big ole’ ball of wonderful Starco fluff with an important moment between them (written before end of show so a bit divergent).
***LoveIsTheStrongestKindOfMagic - Very short and basic fluff.
Starco Week 5 (Hugs Included) - Some of it is postcanon Earthni oneshots and others are from the Light of the Sun and Stars AU (see above). Great author, fun as hell writing style.
Fragile - Star worries about keeping her boyfriend Marco safe.
Complete - An older Star reflects on her past and present. Short and sweet.
Knighthood - Simple fluff piece on if Star and Marco got together after Storm the Castle.
Too Hot to Move - Star and Marco try to survive a heat wave on Earthni. Also funny fluff.
Marco Make-out Mayhem - Star really likes kissing Marco. Funny fluff.
Cleaved Together - NSFW warning, non-explicit (aged up) - Star and Marco’s first time. Very very overly focused on the whole purity/sacredness of first time thing, but still pretty cute.
Like Us - Really nice, sweet casual reflection on her life with Marco from a future Star’s POV.Toothpaste Kisses - Short fluff about its title.
A Friend’s Memento - Starco fluff with some reflection on the results of destroying magic
Plum Pie - Some goofy antics and hurt/comfort.
Not Losing You - A little dive into Marco’s POV at the end of Cleaved. Also adds a kiss.
We Belong Together - More speculative slightly angsty comfort/fluff.
Enough - A nice study of the emotions and thoughts during the last scenes of Cleaved, adds some depth to it.
Heartless - A bit of angst over magic going away with some sweet Starco comfort.
Together - Post-Cleaved Starco megafluff.
My Prince - Starco fluff set in a world where they were together before Cornonation.
Dancing with a Star - Starco fluff from alt S4.
Love in the Time of Pancakes - Written hours after my last update of the list, another little ditty based on the pancake promo.
Pancakes - Fluffy S4-promo-based little oneshot.
Hers - Hurt/comfort/confession-y fic, has some really nice moments and shows off a lot of how much they care about each other. Nice to see after such a drought.
Someone to Stay - Another hurt/comfort fic, nice and simple.
A Viola, a Violin, and a Butterfly’s Sword - some nonlinear oneshots about Starco. Some kinda weird directions gone in with the “plot” but it’s pretty good overall.
Falling - One of many, many fics from throughout the fandom’s history about Star and Marco getting together. Short and sweet.
forget about white horses & once upon a time - Drabble collection of various moments scattered throughout Star and Marco’s lives. Cute fluff.
The One Where I Thought I Lost You - Post-BFM fic where Marco realizes his feelings for Star earlier. Very wholesome.
christmases when you were mine - Established relationship fluff.
lightning in your veins, thunder in your heart - Post-season 3 established relationship fluff (slightly divergent, written before 3B).
once upon a december - Established relationship fluff.
Flags - Alternate rendition of the episode “Flags” with Starco.
Spells and Hot Chocolate - Wintry fluff.
5 Ways to Say ‘I Love You’ - Post BFM with some events in Star and Marco’s lives.
You’re My Wish Come True - This is just indulgent Starco trash. I won’t even argue for the characterization/writing quality, this is just a straight-up guilty pleasure.
Wands and Nachos - ^
The Princess and the Safe Kid - ^
A Day in the Life of Starco - ^
A very Starco Xmas - ^
Could It Be -^
All the times Star wore Marco’s hoodie - ^
Protect Me, Squire - ^
Crushed - Star and Marco both get turned down by their respective crushes and find comfort in each other.
Stay - Cuddly fluff. There’s another Stay out there which I frankly can’t stand with will-they-won’t-they melodrama out the wazoo, so don’t get confused.
Longer Series
*The Inescapable Us - Really tropey miscommunication will-they-won’t-they type of thing. Not my fav, especially now that the show is over and finished that leg of Star and Marco’s story once and for all (I’m personally WAY less interested in things that redo something canon already did). However, where it’s at now has some really good Starco moments. Fully admitted that I hella skimmed most of it until the parts I enjoyed, but And if you’re more fine with that type of thing then you’ll probably really like it, it’s well-written otherwise.
Together We Fall - Throwback S2 AU fic where Star and Marco go to the dance together instead and Toffee makes moves earlier. Gets kinda dark but has a lot of nice Starco along the way.
Safer, Sorrier - A recent rewrite of an older fic, Better Safe Than Sorry, where Star has to leave early to become queen and Marco is alone for a few months before they reunite. A very dated premise (post season 1 ish) but quite good.
Sugar and Spice - NSFW warning, non-explicit (NOT aged-up characters). In this fic, Star and Marco have gotten together after BFM, and a spell gone wrong leads to Mewberty relapses with obvious consequences. This fic has adorable Starco moments, but what I love this for above all is the other character interactions (especially Glossaryck and Star’s parents). This is probably a controversial add-on to the list, but I stick by my decision - if the subject matter isn’t your thing, then by all means avoid it.
Beyond Dimensions - Plotfic + established Starco where some ancient sorceress has to trap Star to escape and try to take over Mewni. Maybe y'all are more into plot stuff than me but the Starco that’s there is quite good regardless.
Starfall - NSFW warning, explicit (aged-up characters). Probably the most popular one to make the cut. Star and Marco are forced apart and have to find their way back together. Very old fic, lot of dated stuff here, and the narration and plot itself can get kinda questionable sometimes, but it has a lot of good Starco and some interesting plot elements that make it, in my opinion, worth a read despite a lot of flaws. A few epilogue chapters contain rather explicit sexual content, so be wary of that (and the epilogue itself after Ep 6 kinda transitions into a nextgenverse, so maybe just skip that entirely).
The Star Butterfly Effect - The sole fic on the list that is purely plot-based, with very little actual Starco development whatsoever. I can’t even really explain it, just give it a shot and see what you think; I was rather engrossed by the plot, and that’s rare for me.
The Princess and her Knight, Return of the Empire The former fic in this series is way more character-based, while the latter is very heavy plot stuff. Pretty decent character writing with some fluff. There’s a third that I honestly can’t recommend because I completely dropped it because it was just a nonstop war story.
Experimental - REALLY heavy, dark AU where Star and Marco are tortured and corrupted. It’s pretty decent.
Blood Moon Blitz - Alt BFM fic of Marco going to fight Toffee with Star. unfortunately dropped without completing, but what’s there is pretty solid.
Read at Your Own Risk…
The Sign of the Moon, The Dance of the Stars - Starts post-3A, involves the growth of Star and Marco’s relationship as they take on foes in and out of the castle and learn more about the Blood Moon. This series is rather… melodramatic, and there were some chapters and character interactions I flat out did not enjoy reading. But some people aren’t as strict on character interpretations as I am and would love such a long plot-based Starco fic, so overall I still will at least list it and let you decide for yourself. There might be a third entry in this series now, but I dropped it before then.
Photos - I hesitate to include this one here because the “Tom is a perfect angel who must sacrifice his love for Star” thing pisses me off. But just skip all that (and ignore the random “a part of me will always love Tom” line) and it’s a really nice post-s3 confession fic.

[ as we proceed. ]
Hello! I go by Mars. Currently, I am in the Pacific Time Zone, but I’m fairly versatile with roleplaying alongside with others from different timezones. Twenty-nine years of age, and I have been roleplaying for over 14 years, so I have a good deal of experience in my humblest opinion. I figure that’s enough about myself; now to get to the main reason you’re all reading this, and that is because I have been looking for roleplayers with the coming of this new year, someone to keep my muse levels high and my writing always on point while I maintain having two jobs, as well as a burgeoning social life. Someone easygoing yet creative with a vivid imagination to bring ideas to form is highly desired in a writer.
This request is not for the faint of heart, and those who have considerable limits, hesitations, and triggers are likely not going to be a good match. Just fair warning.
WRITING
I am a multi-paragraph sort of writer, which means that frequently, my writing will exceed at least 600 words, and upward of 1000+ words. I love detail and description, and I am actively seeking someone of the same infamy. Once upon a time, I managed to keep up with a story that teetered around 3000+ per reply with someone, still maintaining the same detailed descriptive writing, and I definitely wouldn’t mind having that challenge once more.
GENRES / PAIRINGS / FACES
I exclusively play male characters in mxf pairings with any smut or romantic attachment, this is non-negotiable. I fully understand and respect roleplayers who are able to play both males and females and nonbinary characters in different pairings. I simply don’t have that versatility, as when I’ve played them in the past, there was an innate in-authenticity that I felt. On the other hand, I am a bit more versatile when it comes to genres and settings that I like to play in. Supernatural is my absolute bread and butter, especially urban and gothic fantasy. Anything to do with vampires, werewolves, demons, witches, shapeshifters, mutants, other urban creature of folklore, given some sort of modern day spun, is absolutely perfect for me. I also really love science fiction in its many forms. Primarily, I take my sci-fi craving inspirations from Star Wars, Mass Effect, and Destiny. I’ve also been slowly intrigued by zombie-less post-apocalyptic storylines, something where the cataclysm is not necessarily caused by rabid zombies (I’m not a big fan of the stereotypical zombies portrayed in The Walking Dead and stuff), but something with either a lethal virus, or a planetary disaster, like an extreme coronal mass ejection.
Another genre that I’ve slowly found interest in includes that of the superhero genre. I’m a big fan of both Marvel and DC fandom, and the concept of having superhumans, humans with abilities, anything of that short would be awesome to do. Against, these would be with original characters on my part. I’m not as fond of general real-life or general modern day genres and themes without a good, complex idea attached to it.
One thing I really love to employ in my roleplays would be face claims, faces, playbys, picture bases, however you call it nowadays. Like I said, I started out roleplaying on forums like proboards, and later, jcink and invisionfree, so face claims are quite prevalent for me. This would only be real-life pictures, and not anime or drawings. We can use the latter for reference points, but I would ideally like face claims to be involved. In terms of looks and stuff, I’ve generally gone for a variety of different guys for who I use to represent my characters. Two of my favorite faces are Tom Hardy and Charlie Hunnam: I can use them for anything. I’ve also had a penchant for guys like Richard Armitage, Marlon Teixeira, Chadwick Boseman, Jason Momoa, and Ed Skrein. For women, my characters playing against, I like to go for an even greater assortment of faces. From actresses like Natalie Dormer, Katie McGrath, Deborah Ann Woll, and Olivia Wilde, models like Adriana Lima and Candice Swanepoel, glamour models like Lucy Collett, Lucy Pinder, and Billie Faiers, alternative models like Sara Fabel and Kelly Eden, and even adult faces like Christy Mack and Nikki Benz – you name them, I’m probably interested in them. So the flexibility is highly wanted.
NOTE: This one is also big, as I have met previous partners who use anime or picture drawings, or have reservations about particular types of faces. I would prefer a partner to be rather versatile and potentially willing to try some of these faces and such. Bonus points if someone is comfortable using faces like Ellie Rayne and Cervena Fox and the like.
WORLD BUILDING
I want an active roleplayer in this category, without a doubt. i love to world-build, but I tend to lose interest when I am the only one who puts in the effort to world-build. Too often I find people gun-shy in this regard. If I feel that I’m carrying the weight of the world-building part with specific ideas, I will end the roleplay in a heartbeat. And consider that the world building is just the tip of the beginning, so from that, I’ll be able to see whether we’ll be a match or not. Because we’d be starting from scratch with whatever we do, it would be a big relief to have someone who doesn’t mind letting ideas flow to set up the universe that we will be roleplaying in. That way, I feel as though we would both be extremely immersed into the roleplay. Let’s create lively planets with vast underground criminal empires, ot a galaxy far, far away, or galaxies far, far away.
MATURE CONTENT
I enjoy writing smut, writing violence, plain and simple. I don’t hinder myself – or I try not to – in what I write, the exact extremeness and depth and detail, and I expect my partner to do the same. Maybe not extremeness in a total and complete smutfest (but really, I wouldn’t be opposed), but I do like a variety of things that can be incorporated along with a fascinating story. Some kinks I love include BDSM, incest, the unholy trinity (oral, anal, and such), dubious consent, hair-pulling, those sorts of things. A particularly darker kink that is not explored enough for me is pregnancy/impregnation/breeding. Also, since I love things like psychological trauma and experimentation (in science fiction and supernatural context), those are also highly desired. The manipulation of someone’s mind, body, and soul, combined with elements of corruption and body alteration/transformation – love. These lean more on this smuttier side of the roleplaying, which I like to fashion it as a coin; heads being the smut, tails being the story. I tend to think of them as two halves of a whole and complete experience, and you simply cannot have one without the other. Sometimes I'll ebb more on the smut side of things, sometimes I won't, but a partner who is more than comfortable in that regard is great.
NOTE: I should make this a bit clearer for any potential partners, but I am looking for roleplays on the darker, smuttier side of things, with little to no limits, and a great deal of my own interests would need to be met by any potential partners. If this part is glossed over in any fashion, I'll be able to pick up on that. I'll be particularly picky about this part. If you have any reservations or have major conditions about this, then it's likely that we won't mesh.
I’ve bulleted the major kinks/mature themes that I want to explore.
Psychological torment. Again, I really enjoy this sort of roleplaying, challenging the mind, characters in situations where they ultimately do not recover from it mentally, where their psychological profile is irrevocably changed.
The unholy trinity. Oral, anal, vaginal sex. Like I said, I enjoy my smut, I’m shameless, don’t care much for judging.
Corruption. Easily one of my favorite themes to explore, and it doesn’t have to just be as simple as sexual corruption, turning a poor innocent girl and debasing her to the point of no return. Something as simple as a hardened person, forged from the rigors of life, suddenly finding themselves in a position of finer things. Of wealth, of relaxation. That can sow the seeds into a slow descent into something illegal, lewd, or all of the above. And they can view it as the ultimate freedom from that hardship.
Drugs. The exploration of a person’s psyche that forces them to turn to recreational drugs to cope with whatever situations they have.
Vanity, body alterations. This can be through different genres and for different reasons. Imperfections are everywhere, and I love roleplaying themes where the characters will go through whatever means. Larger breasts and a more voluptuous curves in order to make money or ascend higher in the economic sphere. Modified abs, cosmetic surgery, all of those things would be included.
Taboo pairings. Specifically incest or interracial. I’ve not tried mother/son pairings, but i’d like to see if anyone is up for that. I’m also good with father/daughter and brother/sister pairings, but those would be primarily for science fiction and urban fantasy.
Gore. I don’t mind there being a little or a good deal. With urban fantasy, you can expect this, because I tend to play creatures as vicious, war-mongering, and unapologetic about tapping into their bestial natures.
Bad endings. What if happily ever after isn’t so happily after all? What if the main character doesn’t get the job done, what if there is no fairytale ending, and what results is heartache, pain, misery? Or delight, freedom, and inspiration?
Pregnancy. Impregnation. Breeding. Demons need to procreate to get their army, no? They need to find that special someone who can unearth their demonic spawn and destroy their adversaries. Or, for a more subversive notion, a simple one=night stand ends up being nine months of sheer interest and intrigue for the involved coupling. I lean toward the former, having had some basis in erotic roleplaying in the past, so the more odd themes of this are welcomed. But normal pregnancy with the right plot is also quite fun.
Again, I can’t stress this enough. These themes are going to be darker by nature. While I don’t believe in a purely smut or purely story-centered roleplay, the fact of the matter is that I’m looking for someone who can and has no problem with handling those themes. For me, I’m alright if you have any particular aversion to rape (I’ll never pressure anyone for this) and things like scat and watersports (I’m personally not okay with those latter two), but I’d like it if everything else was fair game. So BDSM, incest, the exploration of similar themes and such.
The only limits I have in this regard would include scat and watersports, those things of that nature. I generally do not mind non-consensual stories that start off that way initially, but over time change (and I know that that isn’t how non-consensual sex works in real life). However, I honestly do not mind it at all if that theme is not included at all since I know that it can be a particular trigger to some..
INSPIRATIONS / FANDOMS
I have many different inspirations when it comes to what I roleplay and how I generally approach a roleplay through my characters, the setting, and such. For urban fantasy roleplays, I’ll take different sets of lore for creatures and create my own, not following any specific script, to say the least. Things from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Blood, Vampires The Masquerade, for instance, would cater to my urban fantasy cravings. Bonus points for anyone familiar with video game franchises like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Destiny, Borderlands, Overwatch. Now, I don’t necessarily roleplay these fandoms to the tee, and I wouldn’t play any canon characters from it. I would, however, love to play opposite canon characters with my own original assembly of characters, as well as playing in scenes and settings reminiscent of these.
PARTICULAR CRAVINGS
Now that I’ve pretty much laid out what I’m about, I’d like to turn your attention to a few particular cravings that I’ve had as of late.
Supernaturally-themed plots are always going to be my bread and butter. I’ve had a craving for demons and demon hunters, this nigh eternal struggle between those that bring hellfire and corruption to humanity, and those tasked with defending humans from them. Or, a more self-serving alternative, these bounty hunters being skilled enough to take the unenviable task of capturing and/or killing demons for a hefty price. Maybe one, or a few demon hunters, get too big for their britches and take on a truly horrifying upper demon. We can play intense themes of carnal desires, corruption, underhanded tricks, contract obligations. [18+]
On the level of science fiction, you’ve seen me repeatedly mention Mass Effect. I love the crew idea, exploring the vast known and unknown reaches of space. Maybe they are a crew of bounty hunters looking for the next payday, or soldiers trying to stave off an alien threat. [18+]
Another science fiction, but with a more centralized main character. Called “The Traveler”, I would like to explore some sort of time-traveling person (not akin to Doctor Who, but the premise is the same). Someone with the advanced technological resources or metahuman abilities to traverse through time. What’s his purpose? What’s his motivation? Maybe instead of preventing things from happening that indicate bad results, maybe “The Traveler” IS the cause of these bad events. Maybe this Traveler has ambition to travel through significant events in history to manipulate them to his ultimate advantage, to gain more power. [18+]
Gotham will burn – Now, this one, is partly because of my interest in the show Gotham, but also from the Batman: Arkham series video games. I love a dark, gritty sort of cityscape with mobsters and criminals, and these rogue vigilantes trying to clean things up. I’ve also been inspired by the TV show Arrow, so this would be along those ideas. Maybe, for once, these supposed “heroes in the dark” can’t clean up the city and instead succumb to the corruptive pressures of an easier, more hedonistic lifestyle? [18+]
The “ambitious plot” – this is something I’ve coined myself, since it is pretty ambitious to bring to life. And this is one of my primary cravings, something of an all-inclusive episodic series, so to speak, which would feature just about everything I love in varying or limitless amounts. I thought of it as something akin to a Mass Effect inspired, Game of Thrones-esque establishment and episode structure, wherein there are different characters with different plot points, in different settings, but altogether would combine for some sort of universal roleplay. Naturally, this would also combine my other four cravings. [18+]
Each of these cravings would require us to play multiple characters off the bat, as well as adding characters either selectively to the storyline, or nondescriptly, because we think another character with a specific personality might add even more intrigue to it. These cravings are also going to vacillate highly between smut and story, depending on the particular facet we’d like to explore. To me, the ambitious plot is the one I’m really seeking, but it is a pretty time-consuming one, and something not for the faint of heart or for others that don’t have all that much time on their hands. As these cravings will be fairly demanding and require a good deal of OOC communication, I will require you to add in your own input AS you contact me. Which means, if you do decide to email me, specifically about those ideas, you must already have some ideas ready to throw at me.
MEDIUM
Medium-wise, I’ve done various forms of roleplaying before. When I started roleplaying, I was initially a site go-getter, loving the pretty graphics and the jcink and invisionfree (and to a lesser extent, proboards) communities. I’m not sure if I want to roleplay on that, for this particular request, as I don’t have it in me to go through the semantics and the time consummation of having to write up an application or a character sheet, so right now, forum roleplaying is off the table. Right now, my main preferences for roleplaying include email and Googledocs, with Googledocs being the main preference right now.
Hopefully I have not dissuaded too many people, but I will say that for the purposes of what I am looking for, I am going to be rather picky about who contacts me. So please, be as detailed in your email as I have been in my request, that’s all i ask. I don’t wish to have emails with the body of them being “Hey, i’m interested in everything you listed, so let’s roleplay” – that does nothing to inspire my confidence and excitement. Let me know what specifically wrapped you into contacting me.
CONTACT
If you are interested in potentially roleplaying with me, please contact me by email ONLY. I made this tumblr just to be able to send these kinds of request, but I otherwise do not use it and will not respond to messages made on it. I created the email specifically for roleplaying means – [email protected]. I’m open to communication and creating a general dialogue through Discord and Google Hangouts, but only after the initial email correspondence has been made. For contacting me, I would like your name/online alias, age (because I will only be accepting partners 18 and over), timezone, roleplaying availability, interests, kinks/limits, and – well, hell – include your favorite song lyric in the title of the email.

SEVEN DEADLY SINS
Sin 1: Lust 1. Who was the last person you checked out? Did they check you out too? Surprise surprise, it’s my girlfriend. Yeah she did - I think I’d start worrying if she didn’t, lmao.
2. Who was the last person you desired, but they didn’t feel the same? Gab, at one point. Other than her, I haven’t desired anybody else; but I was on the ‘didn’t feel the same’ side at least once, back when Mike used to like me.
3. Ever cheated on a significant other? If so, have you learned from it? No, I’ve never cheated.
4. Do you watch porn? Yes. I’d have phases where I’d view it 2-3 times a week, then I’d completely stop for months – kinda like how everyone plays The Sims lol. I don’t know why it works like that for me.
5. Do you masturbate? Sometimes.
6. Best physical features on your preferred sex? I don’t have a preferred sex, and my favored features differ per person.
7. Who are some celebrities that you think are totally hot? Kristen Stewart, if you don’t me already haha. Also Eugene Lee Yang from the Try Guys, Beyoncé, and Jennifer Aniston.
8. Did you ever lust after a best friend’s significant other? How did it turn out? Mmm nope, I never found myself attracted to Hans in any way. The fact that he has always been associated with Angela ever since high school also helps.
9. When was the last time you had sex? Like a week before Christmas, I think.
10. Ever pursued someone, even though they were taken? No, that’s a little awful.
Sin 2: Gluttony 1. When did you last eat at a restaurant? What restaurant was it? Last Monday – Gab and I went to Yabu to catch dinner. We had been entertaining my mom’s guests and their kid all day and thought we couldn’t leave the house cos it’s a bit impolite, but I had such a craving that I ended up asking permission if we can go to Yabu by 8:30 even though the mall closed by 9 lol. I realize I talk about Yabu an awful lot on here so for those who wanna know, it’s this local Japanese place that serves theeeee best katsu.
2. When did you last have fast food? Where did you get it? I don’t actually remember. If I’m not wrong, it was around two or three weeks ago, and we had KFC delivered to our house because we were too lazy to cook or go out. I had the Zinger Steak, which I hope they never phase out because it’s insanely good.
3. What was the biggest meal you had all day? I haven’t eaten yet, and it’s only 10:51 AM.
4. Do you have too many clothes? How often do you go shopping? I wouldn’t say it’s overwhelmingly many, but I definitely own more clothes than the pieces I’d usually wear, and that’s because I don’t like throwing old stuff out just in case I’d need them in the future (definitely got my great-grandma’s hoarding tendencies). I go shopping once in a few months, which in itself is pretty seldom, but that’s because when I go shopping I usually already buy a shit-ton of new clothes, enough for me to be able to mix and match to come up with new outfits for the next few weeks.
5. What’s something you have a LOT of? Black clothing. I’ve made an effort to get more colored tops, but the blacks still overpower.
6. Do you eat a lot? I’m very takaw-tingin, which is a Filipino term used when you get a crapload of food either because you’re hungry or because you’re confident you can finish it – or both – then you never do. Takaw means greedy or glutton, tingin roughly means sight, so it literally means that you just kinda want to get everything because it looks like a lot. So to answer the question, I always feel like I can eat a lot, but at the end of the day I just end up with stomachaches and I never learn.
7. What was the last thing you splurged (spent a lot of money) on? If a bunch of stuff counts, then I splurged on Christmas presents for various people that I all bought in one go – I got massage oils, a garlic press, a frisbee, Marikina sandals, lipstick, and Instax film. If you’re talking about a single thing that I had to drop a ton of money on, it was for my dog’s blood test and some arthritis meds that the vet recommended.
8. What do you spend most of your money on (besides bills and anything necessary like that)? I only ever spend on necessities like gas, clothes, and food, honestly. Other than that... I spend on (and this is very seldom) whatever hobby I’m into at the moment. At one point I spent on slime because I got interested in them, and before that – and y’all know about this – I spent my Christmas savings on adult coloring books and pencils.
9. Last time you ate candy? What was it? A week or two ago; I had a Crunch bar.
10. Last thing you ate too much of? Eggs, I think. My mom makes it for breakfast so I have it almost every day.
Sin 3: Greed 1. Do you share things? How often? Yeah I can be pretty generous with my stuff. I know I’d appreciate it when other people lend me their belongings, so I try to do the same. I once lent my phone to Rita for over an hour just because she wanted to play Mario Kart, and I also lent a book that’s really important to me to an online friend I barely knew; it was with him for like two years, lol.
2. Someone asks you for a piece of your cookie. You break it in half, but the pieces aren’t equal. Who gets the bigger piece? Usually it would be me; but if the person who asked for it was Gab, or if that particular person likes the cookie I have, then they get the bigger piece.
3. When you see change on the ground, do you pick it up? Only if it’s a 10-peso coin, because I’m greedily picky like that lmao. Other people might need a peso or a 5-peso coin more, so I leave it be.
4. How often do you lend money to people? I don’t, and that’s one thing I wouldn’t tend to lend. My parents just give me allowance and it’s usually enough for necessities and for treating myself once or twice a week, so I wouldn’t be able to have some left for others. Besides, that’s my parents’ money and it would be pretty fuckin’ unfair to them if I just give it away to others lmao.
5. Do you loooove money? I hate what it’s done to society, how it’s divided the rich and the poor, and how the people with the most money also tend to be the most selfish coughcoughBILLIONAIREScoughcough. But I love spending for my own, hah.
6. If someone offers to pay for you, do you decline or readily accept? Oh no no no. Decline all the way. If they keep insisting then I’ll probably give in because it’s the polite thing to do, but if I can, I’ll keep declining.
7. Which of your friends is the wealthiest? Rita. Her grandpa is a former senator and she lives in literally the swankiest neighborhood in Metro Manila; I was a bit intimidated when she invited us to her place for the first time lol. She’s the simplest person I know, too; and that’s my favorite kind of rich.
8. Would you take a high-paying job that you didn’t really like just for the money and benefits? That’s definitely what I plan to do, lmao. At least this is how I know myself now: I have enough money to buy whatever I want, and I’m a happy camper. That may change in a few months or within the next year and I may eventually wanna search for a passion – but for now, it’s the mindset I’m going with when I go job-hunting soon. If I survived four years of college with a very burnt-out, emptied passion for journalism that I thought I had, I could probs do the same in the workplace.
9. Ever stole from anyone? What about stole from a store? What happened? I unknowingly stole a box of crayons from a store back when security equipment wasn’t that rigid yet lmao. I realized I ‘stole’ it because I had it in my hands and not in a paper bag when I walked out, so I immediately went back to pay for it. I’ve never stolen anything from anyone.
10. Do you ever have enough money? I don’t think anyone ever feels this way. Ever heard of billionaires?
Sin 4: Sloth 1. Last thing you procrastinated on? Washing the dishes last night.
2. When you’re at a strip mall and the next store you want to go to is at the other side, do you drive over there instead of take a short walk? It depends how far “the other side” is. <-- Yep pretty much. If it’s literally on the other side of a street, then obviously I’d go walk. But in places like my school which is super big and where ‘other side’ could mean 2 km away, a drive would be more convenient.
3. What’s a typical day off of school and/or work like for you? I’d normally spend the day lazing around on the couch with my dog beside me and lurking around social media.
4. What’s one talent you have that you don’t really work on, even though you have the ability to be good at it? Public speaking, or debating.
5. How many hours of television do you watch a day? I keep Friends as a background noise on Netflix nearly all day because I hate when it gets too quiet around me. As for watching on an actual television, I haven’t used one in years.
6. What about the amount of time you spend on the internet a day? The internet takes up my entire day it’s crazy lol. I kinda need it for everything now.
7. How many hours of sleep do you get a day? Do you sleep in late? It’s always different. I can go anywhere between 3 and 10 hours of sleep. I don’t sleep in often, though.
8. Do you drive to places that are less than three blocks away? I don’t know how big blocks are supposed to be since we don’t use that system here. But yes, I usually drive even though Point A to Point B is very much walkable hahaha. My friends make fun of me a lot for it but I don’t care, at least I don’t get to my destination all sweaty and smelling like the sun.
9. When was the last time you exercised? November, on my last PE class.
10. Ever copied and pasted your homework from a website on the internet? I never did this. My schools always emphasized the consequences of plagiarism so as someone who always stuck by the rules, I always made sure I at least paraphrased the content I see on the internet.
Sin 5: Wrath 1. If you could kill one person and get away with it, would you do it? I know it’s pretty dark to come from such a place, but I’ve always thought death is an easy way out for people who’ve done awful things. I could answer this question with a name of a corrupt politician, rapists, or animal abusers, but tbh they don’t deserve the sweet escape of death, even if it were from murder.
2. Is there anyone you honestly and truly can say that you hate? Anybody who has hurt cats and dogs.
3. Is there anyone you want revenge on, whether you want to get them back big-time or just play a little prank on them for hurting your feelings? Like I said, I’d daydream about getting revenge just to satiate my desire for it, but I think it’s pretty childish and downright cartoonish to actually go through with it. I’ve only ever seen people getting petty revenge in movies, but it seems a bit stupid in real life.
4. Are you fighting with any friends right now? Why? No. The most that’s happened was me kinda scolding Andrew for not letting me know beforehand that he submitted our thesis proposal to our prof through VIBER, which is incredibly unprofessional and I definitely let him know what I thought about it. I didn’t fight with him though.
5. Last time you were really angry? What happened? The aforementioned thesis prof letting me know we’re missing a part of our thesis on the last day for profs to submit their grades. That meant that however early we submitted a revision, she wouldn’t have been able to give it a mark anyway. That definitely pissed me off, especially considering that she was silent for two weeks and didn’t give back any comments which made us think we were good to go.
6. When you’re angry, what do you do to calm yourself down? I watch Friends or any one of my favorite YouTubers so I can have some relief. Other times, I’d force myself to sleep.
7. “Hate is just the fear of loving someone.” true or false? No. That makes no sense to me.
8. What’s the best revenge you ever got on someone? Never done this before.
9. Was there any hard feelings after your last break-up? On whose end was it on? There were definitely hard feelings in the beginning because she executed the breakup so poorly and I thought I didn’t deserve any of the treatment I was getting, and I was also mad that I wasted my time for that long only for her to break up with me in the end.
10. Ever been cheated on? How did that make you feel? No.
Sin 6: Envy 1. Is there anyone you’re jealous of? Name a person and tell us why. Envious is the better word, and I feel this way towards anybody who live with both parents. My dad’s worked overseas all my life, and as grateful as I am for his sacrifices, having a dad at home is more foreign sensation to me than the idea of having a dad who’s gone for 4-6 months a year.
2. List three physical features some other people have that you’re envious of (no need to get specific and name people; you can just say something like “brown eyes” or “having perfect eyebrows”). Straight teeth, fixed eyebrows, legs that don’t need much shaving.
3. List three personality features that other people have that you’re envious of. Confidence, independence... is privilege a personality trait lol?
4. Are you a jealous significant other? I can be. I don’t make a big deal about being jealous as much as I did two or three years ago anymore though.
5. Could you date someone who was really jealous? Gab can be a little jealous but for the most part it’s endearing because it’s never turned into abuse.
6. What celebrity’s looks do you envy the most? Audrey Hepburn.
7. Do you think anyone is envious of you? In your opinion, what characteristics (physical and mental) do you possess that you think someone might be envious of? Being in a long-term relationship, definitely. A lot of people my age want significant others so bad, and I know this because a good chunk of them post the same wish over and over on social media lol.
8. What are a few things you wish you were good at? Drawing, playing an instrument, dancing ballet, changing a car tire, COOKING.
9. Did you ever date someone, break up, and then see them dating someone very attractive a few days later? Were you jealous of that person? This has never happened to me.
10. When looking at a love interest’s exes, do you often find yourself jealous of their good-looking exes? I haven’t had to do this, because I was Gab’s first. I wouldn’t want to fixate on exes if I were in a different situation, though.
Sin 7: Pride 1. What’s something you brag about a lot (be honest–we all brag sometimes)? My school is easy bragging rights. Everybody wants to be in UP.
2. What physical features do you take the most pride in? My body figure in general. Also my fingers, legs, and jawline.
3. Are you satisfied with what you have? Yeah but as the above questions have made it clear, I can always use more money lol.
4. Be honest… when someone is telling you something, do you often change the subject so it’s about you and your accomplishments instead? NEVER. That’s one of the worst things anyone can do. I feel like I used to do this when I was younger, then it just hit me one day about how tasteless it can be so ever since then I’ve let other people hype themselves up and be excited about accomplishments or new things in their life as much as they want with me, as long as they aren’t being so conceited.
5. Do you like talking about your achievements? If I’m in a group and we started sharing our achievements then yeah I’d join in. But I wouldn’t bring it up if it wasn’t already being brought up. It’s better to let the accomplishments speak for themselves.
6. Do your parents tend to brag about how well you came out? My mom is definitely more ~braggier than my dad, but she’s never come off as an asshole about it. If she was, I’d pull her aside.
7. Do you strive to be better than others? Do you think competing with others is healthy? I keep a mindset of competing with others, but I keep it internal.
8. What do you do better than most people? See the little details. I’m always surprised at how most of the people I work with just look at the big picture – like how they don’t pay attention to the red squiggle under misspelled words on a group paper (or if they do see it, they don’t do anything about it), or how they don’t seem to care about proper spacing on a Powerpoint and proceed to just dump a bunch of text on one slide. Now this is something I can brag about too, cos a lot of people are just so not detail-oriented lol.
9. Do you believe in taking pride in things you can’t control (ex. being proud of your heritage, being proud of your skin color, being proud of your natural artistic ability)? I don’t see why that’s an issue.
10. Who are you competing with right now (it could be anything–classmates for a grade, co-workers for a position, other girl for a guy, etc.)? There’s no particular person, but like I said, I’m always in this perpetual mindset of wanting to compete with others just so I’m more motivated to perform well and get things done.
