Ramblings of a madman underneath-

-So, originally- just going to make sun- since I drew him in the little comic I made a while back, but then I decided , why not make a moon too

because-

you know-

no sun is complete without their Moon /silly

So rambling rambling rambling time, info dumping mmm

Wanted to distinct them with their own names-

Esmeray! (or just Ray) -(Sun)

Sulien! (or just sully/sul) -(Moon)

Esmeray means dark moon and Sulien means sun born c:

Sometimes I'll forget so if a say sun and moon at some point it translates to Ray or Sul-

-So the same logic as last time applies,

the lighter size of their face and body is damaged/very sensitive, so the eye that's on the lighter side of their face is very very foggy so essentially, they're blind on that side of the face, soooo half blind. Often causing them to bump into fish or other random things in their enclosure sometimes.

-Usually you only see ONE at a time, but NEVER BOTH.

Often leading visitors to assume that there is only one clownfish in the enclosure that transforms or something when it's night, but really, when it's daytime Esmeray is out y'knoww, entertaining, doing tricks, swimming around while Sulien sleeps and when it's night time, Esmeray sleeps and then Sulien is entertaining, or just glowing around, looking pretty.

You never see them both out at the same time, rarely.

Really unless it's something important or it's something special.

Sometimes they'll both cuddle together in their little cove..🥺 on their sea anemone bed

usually in the late evenings 4-5pm before Sulien gets to go out and roam for the night.

(ray can't fall asleep comfortably, without being close to his brother [happening since they were young] so sulien snuggles with ray until ray falls asleep)

-as I said before- later on down the line, when y/n begins working at a janitor at the exotic fish aquarium, our lil fishy frens kinda gets the memo after a while and starts to draw on a little area of sand that's infront of the glass to communicate and y/n started fogging the glass and writing on it to communicate, Ray (sun) doesn't understand words so they both do little drawings instead.

No one really knows where he learnt it from- but Sulien (moon) knows a bit of English, only a few simple words (hello,bye, mad, you, me, us, angry, food, help, feel,etc.) he also uses the sand.

Performance wise, esmeray does lil heart water bubbles, (or really just any shape, kinda like how clowns do balloon animals and other items) it's something he usually does for visitors, kids mostly. He'll wave, bow, press his face against the glass to be funny, do silly faces that makes the kids laugh, even some regulars that really want to become marine biologist, etc. that often visit the aquarium on weekends that he's very very fond of. He does loads of shows and tricks for people when they walk up to his case, very very active lil fella

the clown fish must perform!! :]

Sulien on the other hand, usually comes out when it's night time, so it's quite rare to see him considering he's mostly active during practically closing time- up until opening hours.

When people do have the rare chance of seeing him at the front of one side of their enclosure, he's not really that active in terms of show BUT he will put on a very pretty light show.

It's absolutely mesmerizing.

Those who get to stay and finish watching it atleast-

The guards are pretty avid on getting everyone out of the aquarium at the designated time.

He also sings sometimes, which is extremely extremely rare-

Guards working there for years have probably only ever heard it twice-

THANK you!! ohhh i do have old pikmin ocs... i actually revamped my old captain a while back, i can share him:

i had a whole crew of pikmin ocs who were a part of the S.S. Harmony, they were gonna be SUCH a nuisance to everyone they ran into...

i thought about making a rescue corps oc for fun. hrmm! maybe...

AHHH thank you!! i've seen a shocking number tags and asks from people saying that I'm apparently the reason they like Dingo now? and i have to say that is so mind boggling to me, because when i first played Pikmin 4 I didn't care about him at all!! he was a nothing sandwich to me... but then i drew him a few times... and started thinking... and then things went downhill and now i REALLY like him...

(referring to this post) i think dingo is better when he's withered

(referring to this comic) I HEAR YOU... I HEAR YOU... but if any tear at all would cause oxygen poisoning, i wouldn't be able to draw them all battered and cool :(

i imagine that there's a seal around the neck in case there's a breach in the suit's lining. so as long as their backpack (life-support) works and is connected to their helmets, then they can breathe✨

(referring to this post) Olimar would be horrified because he knows Louie, and if he sees that note there's only one thing it could mean! his coworker tried to eat pom!! if pom hasn't been outed as wraith and Olimar is questioning her, she'd just say Louie bit her and then refuse to answer any follow up questions 💖

Shepherd would be... concerned. she might think they have a weird fling going on and louie's talking about a kiss? she probably wouldn't realize Louie quite literally means he ate something from pom. oops!

that's a really good question... I'll be honest, with a lot of the "when and how did x happen" questions, there's not an official timeline or anything; the pom wraith au is sort of an umbrella with a bunch of different stories and what-ifs underneath it. although there was one story where louie does find out her secret!

louie and pom end up bridging their differences (with the help of olimar), and become good friends while pom is continuing the rescue effort. then there's a very unfortunate incident where pom and louie are away from the base and they're attacked... pom has to reveal herself to defend them and she accidentally hurts louie :(

its fine though, louie doesn't care what pom is. they're both freaks in his mind and that's all that really matters. he does end up having to defend pom from olimar (who's been made vindictive through his trauma with the plasm wraith) sometime later!! here's some older art:

me too! they do NOT get along... louie's kinda pissed at her for chasing him around on PNF404 and beating him in dandori battles when he just wants to stay there and vibe. pom meanwhile doesn't understand him, he pisses her off too! she likes olimar a lot, and as an outsider it looks like louie doesn't appreciate the friendship olimar offers him. to someone who's trying to understand and participate in this whole friendship business, she thinks he's ungrateful and weird. they do not get along!! at the beginning at least...

that's a fun thought! he would probably be able to sense that something is off about her. but he'd also probably just think "she's weird like me." honestly, the whole wraith thing doesn't really matter much to him -- the only thing it changes is that pom can now offer her tendrils as a skewer for his cooking at any time and location!

i think i'm gonna call her rose wraith!! and ohh, i didn't know that... i was just gonna call her rose wraith since she has a rose head. i'm creative i promise

(referring to this post i think) AHHH hehe... honestly, when Pom first learns about Dingo's fear of blood, she only tries to keep him from it because it's really annoying dealing with your coworker when they faint. he's like a sack of potatoes when he's knocked out. but yes, as they become actual friends pom will (subtly) do her best to keep blood away from dingo. it's fortunate she doesn't have any!

she might not get phobias, but she understands what its like to have a crippling fear, so she's empathetic!

I have plenty of headcanons for them! Though a good amount of them centralize around Edd, Matt, and Eduardo! (Since they're my favorite characters), so, I'll just go over them in order, I think

(Very long text blog, by the way, lol);

Edd Central;

The most important one to me is probably Edd and Tord being platonic life partners, I never truly could see them as a romantic pair, so this just made all the more sense to me. I always sorta thought of Tord and Edd as childhood friends anyways, while the other guys came later, like they met in school perhaps when Tord had just moved there with his parents and Edd was the first one to talk to him and they've been inseparable ever since type of thing. I always depict Tord being really clingy, mostly out of me projecting, but also because, dang it, drawing these two together is lovely :[ (I'll put some art below all the text). Edd I always sort of headcanoned as AroAce, other than one or two instances there aren't many depictions of Edd thirsting over people in a way that would make me go "Oh yeah he's _________" but the way he values his friends, especially Tord, always struck me as similar to my own experiences as someone presiding on the AroAce spectrum. He loves people clearly, but I just don't think I could picture him in a fully romantic relationship. Though I don't think I would describe his relationship with Tord as brotherly, I feel like they're more than that but not in a romantic way? It's hard to explain, but that's the big headcanon that's gonna be present on this page. Final note I headcanon that one of Edd's parents is from Spain, so he was raised in a halfway Spanish household. The reason for this is mostly because me and my other Hispanic friends like to jokingly have a rivalry with Spain because haha world history is funny and since I headcanon Eduardo to be specifically Mexican it just seemed funny for one rival to be at least partially from Spain and the other to be from Mexico. Also, imagining them arguing in spanish gives me life, like picture Eduardo and Edd bickering from either side of the fence and every now and again Eduardo points out the differences in the Spanish dialect they speak to fan the flame, like come on. All lighthearted, obviously, I never see Eduardo and Edd as like

MEGA HARDCORE RIVALS

I think its more of a silly friendly rivalry where they sometimes accidentally end up actually arguing. Is this also projecting? Probably, but I don't care! Also, I don't think they met as young as they're depicted to in PowerEdd? Everyone knowing each other since they were kids always was sorta weird to me because? Where? Did Eduardo's accent come from then? If anything, I think they met in their teens and have been verbally beating the crap out of each other ever since.

Matt Central;

Despite Matt being my second favorite of the main guys, I managed to go nearly 9 years in this fandom without learning to draw him at all. Which is a shame since he's such a silly guy. Personally, I headcanon that Matt was adopted as a kid, we see that his mom in fun dead's hair is a lot darker than his and to me? In my brain? It kind of screamed that she used "box dye" to match her adopted son. I DO think his grandma is blood related, but I think she got in contact with him much later in life (perhaps when he was 15-17), and that's how they've managed to be in contact in certain scenes or episodes. Keep in mind that I don't read the comics for the series anymore, honestly? So if anything in there IS relevant, I, yknow, I haven't seen it! It's a smaller note, but I also kind of just like the idea of Matt being Czech (not by adoption. From birth). It's not like a big thing in my HCs it's just always sort of in the back of my mind. Sexuality-wise, I thought of Matt as pansexual! It just makes the most sense in my little brain

Eduardo Central;

Come on, how could I NOT get attached to this guy? He's rude, He's morally dubious a lot of the time, He's Hispanic?? You basically described at least a good sizable chunk of my extended family. Anyways, as said before, I definitely headcanon him as specifically from Mexico (specifically somewhere in Michoacán), and I mean like born and raised at least until he was like seven and then he moved to the United States until he was 15-16 when he then moved with his family to the United Kingdom. I think if anyone, he met his friends in high school, Mark and Jon just always seemed less like childhood friends troupe and more like the "I met him in science class and now he comes over to my house at 2am and knocks on my window because he got lost on his way home and he needs to use my bathroom and also probably raid my kitchen" kind of friends. Him and Jon specifically have such an honestly terrible but also interesting dynamic since it's one I've seen a lot in my life. Personally, I think he means a lot of what he says in a non serious manner despite his tone? As, we see in the end part 2 that he DOES at least CARE about Jon, this just comes off to me as someone who has problems expressing that at all which is sad but not an excuse or justification, just an explanation. I absolutely headcanon Eduardo as gay because.. I don't know! I genuinely just do not get straight vibes from the guy, and I definitely see deeply internalized homophobia but not a straight guy. I don't think I see him and his friends as in any kind of romantic relationship, but you know it's just something I like to keep in mind when thinking of him. He's also very connected to his culture in my mind, I can imagine him genuinely teaching Jon and Mark about it often. Actually, we only ever see these guys in very HEAVILY characterized, overly specific situations, and I'd like to more often imagine all the things we missed in between. After Jon is gone, I think it's fair to imagine he mellows out, perhaps due to regret? I don't know, am I saying he's the best character ever and is exempt from all guilt or flaws? No. He's an asshole. But is he one of my favorites, nonetheless, because of how I wrote him in my own mind? Yes.

I haven't done an intro post yet, so I'm just going to put a VADD fanfic I wrote to start off. It contains spoilers-- actually I may accidentally drop spoilers after completely forgetting that there exist people that haven't read the Villains are Destined to Die Novel, so BEWARE.

Also, I'm a Reynold stan -- this account is dedicated to him -- but if you want to send asks for another fanfic (you probably won't since my writing is nothing special and you're about to see that for yourself), I can do that for you too.

Lastly, if you actually read my fanfics or even just look at my blogs in general, take some of this: ❤❤❤❤❤. I'll pray you get to meet your very own Reynold in life. Here, I'll even bless your eyes right here and now for reading this far --

Anyway, here it is. My fanfic I mean. Kinda weird but ok:

Late at night, when the moon was high in the sky, Reynold quietly snuck into the palace through the secret path he had discovered. Determined to have some fun and meet his niece after what felt like years but was actually only a few hours, he tiptoed through the corridors until he reached Judy's room. Why did he have to do this, you ask? The answer is simple. He had been banned from entering the imperial palace after getting caught a week ago teaching Judith how cigarette kisses were done by Duke Eckhart. He insisted the former Duke was lying, but then Judy started asking Penelope to cigarette kiss her and who else could teach her that, honestly. Side note, Callisto cigarette kisses Penelope later, except with candy… I'll write about this later. REDO--

Late at night, when the moon was high in the sky, Reynold quietly snuck into the palace through the secret path he had discovered. Determined to have some fun and meet his niece after what felt like years, he tiptoed through the corridors until he reached Judy's room. They had planned to meet the previous night when he snuck in for the first time after being banned from entering the imperial palace by his sister yet again. He brushed his bangs to the side, thinking about how unfair it was that literally anyone could come and see his niece at any time but he couldn't and whispered a curse. "Dammit. Damn my fucking life." Ok, maybe it was more than just a curse. Feeling a little better, he quietly pushed the door open.

Judy, who was wide awake and waiting for him, greeted him with a cute smile. "Uncle Reynold, you're here!" she whispered excitedly.

Reynold put his finger to his lips, signaling her to keep quiet, feeling excited about seeing his niece. Nobody could separate them. "Shhh, we have to be sneaky," he whispered back. "I learned something cool earlier and thought to share it with you, Judy." he said, entering her room and closing the door behind him.

Judy's eyes sparkled with anticipation. She loved their secret night-time adventures..

Reynold pulled out a small notebook from his pocket, flipping it open to a page filled with doodles and funny drawings. "Tonight, my dear Judy, we're going to learn the ancient art of speaking in silly accents," he declared, smiling his stupidly cuter that Judy's grin.

Judy giggled, covering her mouth to stifle the sound. "Silly accents? Like what, Uncle?"

Reynold cleared his throat dramatically and began speaking in a comically exaggerated accent. "Well, my darling niece, we shall start with the renowned 'Penguin Accent.' You must speak as if you have a beak and waddle around like a penguin. Watch me!"

And, on that note, Reynold actually demonstrated his best penguin impersonation, waddling around the room and flapping his arms. Judy burst into laughter, unable to contain her amusement.

Meanwhile, Penelope, who had been woken by a nightmare, sensed that something was amiss. Concerned for her daughter's well-being, she quietly approached Judy's room, with Callisto trailing behind.

As they opened the door, they were greeted by a sight that made them both gasp in surprise. There was Reynold, wearing a silly penguin hat and speaking in an outrageous accent, while Judy mimicked his actions, laughing uncontrollably.

Penelope's jaw dropped in utter shock, but quickly recovered and gritted her teeth in annoyance while Callisto couldn't help but smile at the absurdity of the situation.

"Reynold. Eckhart." she hissed through her teeth.

Caught off guard, Reynold froze mid-waddle, his face turning beet-red. "Uh. P-Penelope! Th-that… this… this isn't what you think it is, I… We were just having a bit of fun, you know… teaching Judy some… unique skills!," he stammered, trying to find an explanation.

"You were banned from entering the palace because your personality was rubbing off on her!! If you were going to visit-- Wait how did you even get here?!"

"Uh… that's…"

Penelope crossed her arms, clearly pissed. She was joyed at the fact that she was greeted by the sight of her daughter laughing with pure joy and having great fun, but Reynold was not as welcome. The things he taught her were simply outrageous, and her daughter was only five, so she didn't know any better and shared all the things Reynold taught her with all sorts of people, and Reynold didn't always teach her things like penguin dances and accents -- Penelope had worked so hard to make Callisto's foul mouth disappear so that their daughter would be more proper than that, but a month ago, the butler informed the both of them that little Judy was going around asking every staff member in the palace what 'a hell' was! The more she thought about it, the more annoyed Penelope became.

Callisto, sensing this placed a hand on Penelope's shoulder.

"It's alright, my Empress. At least Judy's having fun. We should increase secur---"

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

He was interrupted the the sound of a scream filling the room, and the both of them, who were just gazing at each other, turned their heads in Reynold's direction.

"WHAT THE F**** ARE YOU DOING IN FRONT OF YOU FIVE YEAR OLD CHILD?!" he yelled, horrified, and at this, Judy starting screaming too.

~ And that, children is how Reynold Eckhart died at the tender (?) age of 30 years old ~

Copyrights and Wrongs, Part 1

Hello there!

Feels like it's been a bit since we last spoke, and I'm sorry for that. Two weekends ago, Becca and I were out of town (I'll share a little bit of that later) and then last weekend, I was just dealing with being really depressed and uninspired and I didn't want to just not write my blog, I didn't really want to do anything. I'm doing a bit better and am about to have a lot to talk about, probably for a few weeks (at least 2-3), so buckle up and get ready! This blog's a special one because appropriate for the time of year, it has HOMEWORK!!!

Also, as a head's up, this first part's going to be a bit shorter as Becca is at Cartoon-a Palooza starting this afternoon! More on that below too!

What is Copyright?

Copyright is both exactly what the name says and a much deeper, more complex thing. In a nutshell, it is the right to copy a creation. If you draw a piece of art, if you write a poem, if you design a machine or a building, if you compose music for a song, if you write a blog even (hehe!), under U.S. law, you are the owner of that work and other people can't use it without your permission.

In more concrete terms, copyright is a form of intellectual property law that defines ownership and use of art under some pretty specific terms. The three biggest ones being: originality, creativity, and fixation. Originality asks if a work is original and unique. What that means is if you and your friend see a cool dog, and you both draw a picture of it, as long as your friend didn't just copy your exact picture, you both now have an original piece of work. Maybe the most commonly thought of example against originality is plagarism, where someone takes another person's written work and tries to pass it off as their own. Creativity is maybe the most nebulous term involved in determining copyright and often overlaps against originality, but should broadly be thought of as the work's intent and execution. Let's say you put together a Pintrest board of inspiration. It isn't meant to be a unique creation or piece of art unto itself, it's just a bit of reference. But if you printed all of the images from that Pintrest board out and collaged them into a piece of art, that would qualify as a creative effort. Finally, fixation refers to whether or not you actually made the thing in a trackable way. If I sing my cats a silly little song to announce their breakfast, but I never write that song down and it isn't ever recorded, it isn't fixed and there isn't proof that you've made the thing. However, if I shoot a TikTok of me singing that song to my cats, hey, I've got that record and I'm set.

That's a very basic overview and, like I said, copyright is complicated. Being a set of laws revolving around ownership in a capitalist system, there're whole sections of the legal industry dedicated to arguing out and testing and defining the limits of copyright. The other really basic stuff you need to understand about copyright for the rest of this conversation are what you can do as a copyright holder, how long copyright lasts, and what "fair use" is.

Here it is from the horse's mouth--the U.S. Copyright office--but the rights a copyright holder has come down to reproduction, continuation, and distribution. You can make more of your work, either through copies or by creating more new work covered in part by your initial creation, and you can display it or sell it or perform it or otherwise make it available. As part of sale, you can also sell the copyright itself--transferring the ownership to someone else. A lot of comics is done with this step happening before the work is started as "work for hire." This basically says that if you're creating an image for a company that owns the copyright to, say, a character like Batman or property like Transformers, you understand that their copyright to the initial work of art supersedes that of the work you now produce for them, and in exchange, they're going to pay you for your creation and any rights that might otherwise be claimable with it. Not to say it too many times, but it's a complicated system and one that has a lot of very reasonable and righteous criticism lobbed at it. There's often a bit of a rub between copyright as protecting creators and copyright as protecting companies.

Companies, for example, famously have been responsible for the expansion of copyright after the death of the author. Current U.S. law dictates copyright for modern creation lasts until the death of the author, plus 70 years. After that, works enter what we call the public domain (more on that in a sec). But just to really put that into perspective: Stephen King is still alive! And there is a distinct chance that his books won't be available until the 2100s under current copyright law. Or, rather, most of his books. If I did my math right, I believe Carrie will be available in 2069 because it actually pre-dates the current code! And this is further complicated by various other things--like work-for-hire creations and anonymous creations have different term limits, and we're reaching an interesting point where some original works are becoming public domain, but their derivative works are still copyrighted (like, say, Mickey Mouse. Steamboat Willie, the first Mickey short, will hit the public domain in 2024, but ALL OTHER MICKEY STUFF will still be under Disney).

Which brings us back to public domain and fair use. To briefly tackle public domain first, it is the idea that after a copyright expires, that work is available to anyone to use as they please! You wanna tell a Dracula story? Do it! You wanna stage a Shakespeare play or adapt it into another medium? Do it! You wanna turn the Odyssey into a rock opera? Do it! Public domain says no rules, just right! Do it! It's a good idea to check what is in the public domain (Wikipedia linked as a starter) at any given point, just to see what may be available to you. This is going to be important in coming weeks. But everything in the public domain is fair use.

As are certain other things--if you're an Adobe subscriber and use photoshop, the software is copyrighted, but you've got fair use to use it, if you see a movie, the movie is copyrighted, but you've paid your money and have fair use to view it. There are certain limitations for research, education, and transformational uses too. I can't get into all the specifics, because they're varied and incredibly nuanced, but as a few examples: if Mad Magazine does a parody of X-Men called "Ecch-Men" or whatever (a thing they've definitely done), that's fair use--it's understood to be parody/satire and not the original work. If a textbook is publishing a historically significant photo, that may be under fair use. Posting a quote from a book on social media and in a locker room with or without proper attribution may be fair use (this is a real example).

Okay, that's a lot to take in and we haven't even gotten to stuff like trademark, patent, or infringement. But hopefully that's enough of a primer that you'll feel confident in the coming weeks of conversation.

Homework Time

Toldja there'd be homework! So here's what we're going to be talking about over the next few weeks that you might wanna get yourself primed on too!

First off - The Copyright office is conducting a study on generative AI and taking into account public opinion and information on it related specifically to copyright. Public comments are open until October 18th. I already submitted one--that I may reproduce in part or in full here--but if you are (rightfully) concerned about "A.I." as it currently exists and the many ways in which it is already violating copyright law, definitely take the time to share a comment!

Secondly - You may've seen the news in the past 24 hours that Bill Willingham is releasing Fables into the public domain. I'm linking to the A.V. Club's article because well... you all know how I feel about Substack (and you may know how I feel about Willingham himself, which is to say, he sucks!). Next week, this'll be our first topic of discussion to see what that actually means. And please remember, I'm not an expert in copyright law, but I do wanna discuss it!

Finally - No homework on this one, but the other thing we'll be talking about is digging a little bit deeper into work for hire and the complicated relationship between comics, artists, and licensed and unlicensed works.

Pic of the Week: Becca and I were in Vegas a couple weekends ago, saw Weezer. It was fun. But on the way back, we stopped by the Original McDonald's Museum in San Bernadino! It's a fascinating little place, in the building that was built where the first McDonald's was before it was torn down and rebuilt to be a little theater. It's also not recognized by the McDonald's corporation because this is the location the founders kept for themselves when they ultimately sold the rest of the company to Ray Kroc. Anyway, so it's a funky little place with a lot of history and is full of toys and packaging and photos and outfits and this big Grimace suit with Becca!

Where do you get all your ideas for these drawings and how do you actually find the strength to do them? Also what happens if you finish a piece and aren't satisfied with it?

Oof, oh man let's see...where I get my ideas from is a tough one, because I get bits of ideas from a lot of different places, and then they just ping around in the circus of my brain until they combine into something I want to make. And with soukoku specifically, there's something about them that appeals very strongly to my sense of humor (not just my sense of humor of course, but it was that aspect which drew me to skk initially), and that makes it easier for me to go "oooh, I want to draw them doing this", or "wouldn't it be funny if they—", etc.

Basically, because I think about them a lot, that leads to things like, say, me listening to the Little Mermaid soundtrack one day while cooking and thinking "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if Chuuya was Sebastian and Dazai was the french Chef" and then running with it and writing a very very weird oneshot. Or, me taking a walk in the snow and thinking "hey what if soukoku were walking in the snow and then Dazai flopped over and started being dramatic about being Snow White" and then my Snow Day comic happened.

As for how I find the strength to do them (and unfortunately I feel like this isn't going to be a very inspirational answer): for me, drawing is a way that I process, calm myself down, and just...express myself. Ah, for example, that recent "Operation Quiet Heart" comic I made recently! I binge-drew that in about two days, because several things had happened to make me Very Stressed and Upset, and so I drew something silly but also comforting because I knew it would make me feel better. And it did! By the time I had sketched it out I had gone from a state of "I am about to either start biting people, or burst into tears" to "Okay I can manage this actually, it's not that big of a deal".

At this point, honestly, it's worse for me when I don't draw. A while ago I hurt my drawing hand while gardening and had to rest it, and in less than a day I started trying to teach myself how to draw with my non dominant hand, just so that I could make something. That's how feral I was going, not being able to draw anything. (I'm actually slowly getting better at left-hand drawing! Can't really do lineart very well yet, but I've occasionally used it for very loose coloring/non-precision stuff when my right hand needs a break.)

It's probably not the healthiest, but...I figure there are worse things I could rely on. Drawing daily has helped me get through some of the worst parts of my life so far—even at times when I couldn't express what I was feeling in words, I could still draw. I think that's just how my brain is wired, sometimes visuals are easier than words. (I like writing a lot, but it's definitely harder for me.)

Aaaand as for what I do when I don't feel satisfied with a piece—I'm gonna put the art ramblings under the cut, since this is already getting long—but the tl:dr is that it depends on how stubborn I'm feeling at the time :D

For example! Sometimes I finish a piece and go "eh", and then I just leave it!

Like this one! I don't hate it or anything, but after a while of messing around with it, it still wasn't quite what I wanted. Close, but not quite. Didn't quite like how Chuuya's hair turned out and such—so, I decided it was a learning experience and left it at that. Maybe I'll come back to the idea at a later point, but honestly I had no plan when I started this one and was just vibing, so I didn't take it as much of a loss.

And then sometimes I get really, really stubborn about a piece, and keep working at it until I get it to look how I want. For example, this one!

This one took me a WHILE, even just to figure out how I wanted the poses to work. I kept drawing sketches, turning off the layer and then trying again on a new layer. So first we had this:

But I felt like adding Dazai to this pose would be awkward, because he would be so eclipsed by Chuuya, so I tried again.

And nope, still didn't like it. having the profiles like this felt too stiff somehow, even though I liked how Dazai was holding on to him. (Also here's an example of me coming back to an idea later, because I recently made a side-profile-facing-corruption-piece that I ended up actually vibing with)

So, I tried again.

I don't have the full undersketch for this one, because I mangled it while drawing, but here—you can vaguely see what I was going for, mostly with where Dazai's arms are positioned. So I had the pose, but then of course there was the process of actually coloring it, and that was a whole other thing. Oh also Chuuya's face took a WHILE for me to get to a place where I didn't hate it.

Here I was mostly just trying to figure out base colors(and the background), and I ended up redoing almost all of it because I was being really sloppy—especially with Dazai's bandages and the curse marks on Chuuya's arms. Also Chuuya's head was a bit too large in proportion to his body, so I ended up selecting all those layers and shrinking it.

Getting closer, I fixed the curse marks and messed around with Chuuya's expression more (but I still didn't like it). Only now I felt like Dazai and Chuuya's heads were too zoomed out and small in this composition (also I tipped them too far back and now it looked like they were falling in a weird way), and also I wanted to add something else because I felt like Chuuya's hands were drawing a bit too much attention (plus it was a messy hand and I didn't feel like fixing it), so I decided to add a graviton to cover the hand and make that lower corner dark. I really wanted the focus to be Dazai's arms holding on to Chuuya.

So I changed Chuuya's expression again, adjusted the angle, zoomed it in, added the graviton, and then messed around with filters to get the colors more how I wanted them to look. And THEN I decided I was done, because I didn't want to overwork it, but yeah! That was one of the times where me being very persistent with a piece actually wound up with something I really liked.

Long answer short: sometimes when I don't like a piece I keep trying until I do, and sometimes I just let it be a learning experience, and try a different approach the next time.

Who is Kennie indeed? This show has enough girls of the week that one of them could have had that name eventually lmbo- but if there is, that's not who's being referred to here...

Oh, also, just to get ahead of it- I switched to digital AGAIN oaihsdohas- My tablet had been acting up, but I've got it working now... I also animated the first panel, in hopes of animating all of this ask for practice. I'm hosting a reanimated project (different fandom) and wanted some practice... however, I quickly found out just how inexperienced I am and how long that would take, soooo I scrapped that idea LOL- have this puzzled Karr gif, ig?

Ok. I know how this looks okay. But I'm NOT just boosting Ask Blog Engagement by introducing a Marketable Animal Sidekick or something. I've actually been tossing around this idea for quite a while, and have had an established design for Kennie as early as 2020 (granted, not drawn very well because... two year old art x_x)

YeAh. It makes,,, some amount of sense for him to have a dog in the AU. As much sense as you would expect from our beloved Silly 80s Car Show anywho. Idk if it's clear from looking at her or not, probably not because I don't draw dogs very much at all, but she's a Husky! GERMAN SHEPHERD HOW DID I JUST NOTICE THIS OVER TWELVE HOURS LATER ASHDOIAHSD she’s a German Shepherd. I figure that Karr would be a dog person. The "Roving" bit of his acronym seems to suggest that he was more equipped for offroading than Kitt was, or at the very least more willing to (was there something in TDR about that, too??? I feel like there was but it has been a hot minute since I watched it haosfd), so he probably wouldn't have the same hang-ups about "a dog will mess up the interior and scratch the paint!!!" Plus, after how many times he's been double-crossed, he appreciates having a really loyal companion.

If I ever complete the AU beyond the ask blog, I'm not sure how much I will be able to integrate her... as fun as it would be to include her in the adventure, it would kind of bloat things sometimes too, y'know? I dunno, I'll have to spend more time considering it...

Anyway, you can imagine how well Kitt takes this.

I had a cat for Kitt too, but I cannot find a drawing of it, and it made no sense, so that's unfortunate :c

06/05/2023 - Onset

Hey, I'm not quite sure what compelled me to do this but I figured it might be worth a shot! I saw some comics on twitter earlier today of a man who would draw cartoons depicting how down he was when his wife was gone for a period of time, and I've been struggling a bit so I thought maybe airing all of my messy little feelings through some medium would emulate that. Maybe I'll show you these one day, or maybe I'll keep them here! It's been...really, really difficult without you here. Way, way more than I like to admit. In my opinion, silly or not, I want you to enjoy your internship and all the opportunities along with it as much as possible --- to me, that means sometimes not conveying the magnitude of which I miss you. I never want you to feel unloved or not missed, but I at the same time don't want it to be a burden or emotionally taxing to you. We're both busy people, and while we can definitely make time to be there for each other, I'm afraid it could become a codependent or otherwise emotionally taxing situation if I was given that access and became over-reliant.

But honestly I've been sick to my stomach missing you. As someone who has exclusively done long distance relationships prior, I gravely underestimated how much it would hit me being here without you. I think about you all the time, I cry probably the most often I have in a long while. I'm also just wondering what you're up to, if you're thinking about me. I've been kind of a mess! I think there's a lot of reasons to it. The largest part is just genuine love and the separation is just making me palpably aware of how lucky I was before and how comforting, pleasant, otherwise amazing those moments I do get to be with you in person are. It's weird realizing just the degree of closeness I feel with you already, I think I'd share just about anything with you if prompted, even stuff I'm typically pretty uncomfortable or reserved about within my closest circles. You were such an insanely calming presence the past few months, and it definitely leaves a bit of a hole! Some other parts are unfortunately not so romantic and cute. I think LDR may have reopened a lot of the insecurities, dependencies, and self-worth issues I had in previous relationships. I do get flashes of times of some paranoia induced from exes. It's no secret my past ex brought me to near suicide, not hyperbole. With her, every day was wildly unpredictable. She worked for 8 hours too everyday, and on good days she'd be instantly responsive and upbeat outside of that frame. But if she wasn't responding? If she was cold? It wasn't ever out of busy-ness. It was intentional and deliberate on her end so you knew she wasn't happy with you, didn't like you, and in the later stages was debating cutting you off entirely. I heard a lot of horrible things from her throughout those final months. The only instance we tried nsfw stuff she basically laughed when she saw me. She would ask me if I would be okay with her cheating on me if it was a girl. She would say stuff like I'm lucky I'm funny, etc. She broke up with me (one of many times) when I shaved and sent a picture. BPD or otherwise, every single day with her felt like a test. A lot of days it felt like I had to be at my best --- funniest, best dressed, most understanding, etc. or she would drop me in an instant. Even when you were doing everything right, she would suddenly go silent on a call and tell you to leave. You never know what you were doing wrong or why, but you could always feel you weren't enough.

I thought with my brief therapy stint and some introspection I had overcome those hurdles, but I see a lot of the aftermath of that in the way I interact with you. Days where I feel like I didn't make you laugh as much or that I responded too much/too quickly I kinda beat myself up for. It leads me to sometimes not texting at all, or leaving shorter stuff. I get sick and afraid that if I just continually let out the gushy mushy "hey reminder im in love with you" type stuff youll get bored eventually. I don't know what it is with long distance, but I start seeing it all as a performance, not in that what I'm doing isn't genuine, but that if I'm not acting what my brain views as perfect, you'll suddenly/gradually become disinterested and leave. I'm also painfully aware its so much easier for someone to just break up over LDR too. These are insane irrationalities, and I by no means should be accomodated for it. In fact, you already do. You've repeatedly assured me that you're with me through thick and thin, and I should show more gratitude than I do. You are a genuinely kind, wonderful soul, I just get lost in my head. It's clearly a self-esteem issue, there must be some fear that one day you'll see me as boring or not so funny or not so cute and once again, you'll leave. It's why I get a bit of weird irrational jealousy too. Not in a controlling way, just in a gross feeling way. Hearing about how great Andrew is, or the Christian camping thing do make me feel weird. I sincerely don't believe you'd ever cheat, and so its not like a genuine concern. It's just this irrational fear that *someone* will come along who's better than me, and you'll realize. It's a terrible thing to say about myself,I know. I don't think you'd cheat, but I'm afraid you'll wake up and see me as I am, not as how you view me now

I'm not the gross monster I see myself as. Sometimes I feel ugly, awkward, lame, boring. Especially this week. I'm just not doing well I'm afraid. I know I'm not any of those things. I'm actually a pretty decent looking guy with a right haircut, I actually do talk to a lot of people and do a lot of things, I can be pretty funny. I just feel awful. I feel so boring and nothing and routine compared to the life you're getting, to the opportunities you have, to the new people who might be more talented, more cozy, funnier than me. and I'm so afraid of losing you. I really really love you and I can see a future and I don't want to jeopardize that. ah it actually does hurt thinking about it. I think that's why I've felt so sick and gross and weird. My brain has conjured up a million ways I might lose you, a million ways I might not be enough and I'm so fucking afraid one of them will come true. Am I destined to make them come true by constantly viewing it throug hthat? how fucked that would be. self sabotage at its finest. god fucking damn it

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa im sobbing. you cant see this no one should see this aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa nothing but bad thoughts right now. the classic insecure dependent bullshit. im not good enough for you, you deserve better type hsit. not true. im actually a pretty kickass boyfriend and someone as great s you deserves the energy im willing to put in

I think I just need to find my center again. I need to recognize I am valuable, I have worth. Even on days where I'm not perfect, even on days where I'm not funny, even on days I don't look all that great. I have a habit of tying my self-worth to things like productivity, to other people. Bad ideas and I know it and have been trying to work against doing so, but I get caught up still sometimes.

The fact is I've been born on watching standup, I have hours of random niche info dumps, enjoy everything from gayming to rock climbing, actively aim to get more fit, am a talented writer, always willing to give advice and emotional support. I'm a wonderful guy, and no bad print day or occasional fail joke takes that away from me. No one's comments about me, no matter how close they were to me prior take that away either. I wanna work on independence. Emotional independence is a big one - not being quite as needy, not being quite as gross and weird-feeling when you talk about how nice someone is, or plans you have. There's a decent chance you feel some of this too! My only like regular friend rn is claire, so I would get if you felt weird by just how often I bring her up, though just like it is for you its completely normal friend stuff for me.

I think if i focus on some of my own goals I outlined for myself, it will help us all. It will make me a better person (net positive for us both) it will give me some accomplishment (self esteem positive) it will keep me interesting (relationship positive) and it will make time pass faster (see eachother sooner positive)

Days do kinda grind forever. But I'm not doing a ton outside of work so no wonder! Of course I'm going to be lonely and sad if I just lay in bed the moment I'm out of work. I need to do more stuff, live more!!

I know this is a very scary post to be shown so hopefully I don't LMAO but know this is also just a snapshot. There are plenty of days, hours, moments I feel completely fine. I've just this week really been hit with the self esteem stuff. Maybe it finally sunk in that you're gone gone for a while! I wanna end this all on a sentiment that is kinda nihilist, but in a good way. Cole and I have this belief that we both need to focus more on experiences now rather than future or past stuff - pretty common universal truth, but we want to consciously make an effort to be more present and do so in present. A way I like to frame these bouts of insecurity is with the following idea: In a nightmare world where you and I broke up, I would still be immensely grateful for everything. You've imparted so much emotional wisdom, gave me so many milestone experiences, truly made me feel loved and cared about. You are one of the best people I ever met and that opinion will not change. No matter any gossip you are a warm, loving person who just wants to understand others and enjoy their company. I can be an introverted shell, and I think there's a much darker alligator world where I never met you and stayed silent and awkward forever. You push me in a lot of good ways, and I think those impacts will be with me for the rest of my life. I can only hope to have positively affected you a quarter of what you've done for me.

I consider all these weird feelings the first true "obstacle" in the relationship. I love you, and I want desperately to make this work. As naive and romantic as it is, I genuinely believe that we are compatible enough that we could WAYYY down the line form an actual life together. I could see you being the proverbial one. Knowing this, I will overcome these hurdles. I will become more confident and secure and less moody and emotional. On two fronts. One, myself - if I can't love myself I can't love others and so much of my joy in life comes from loving and helping others. Two, for you - if working through my emotional weaknesses to become a stronger, more independent person strengthens our relationship, how could I ever simply lay down, let the bad feelings hit me, and die? I will fight my inhibitions.

if you do end up reading this one day, boy secret: after a big, hearty cry where you really ugly let out all emotions, there is a compelling desire to jerk off. It's like the self-love equivalent of makeup sex LMAO. toodles!

Jikook Dynamics Through The Years: 2014 pt. 1

The posts for pre-debut and 2013 dynamics can be found in my masterlist as well as I'll link them here for you. We are now finally getting into 2014! This is a interesting year, and I'm probably going to say that for every year going forward now 😂 oh well. We get to see even more how much they were all already so close. Jimin and Jungkook included. Something important to keep in mind that I'll be sharing moments, AND my personal opinions, along with facts. My opinions are my own. You can agree or disagree. I encourage you to go and check it all out, see this content for yourself as well and form your own opinions during this time frame too. I will be splitting this up into 3 different posts probably to manage the length and be able to add more links/photos in each post.

We literally start the year of 2014 off with Jikook. On the second of January, the first BTB of the year is again, a minute of JK filming Jimin acting goofy and dancing. Jimin has always been one of his favorite models when JK is in charge of the camera 🥺 JK is singing/rapping and Jimin is dancing to whatever song he randomly starts singing. Both giggling their heads off the whole time until it abruptly ends with them both exhausted from holding the camera up high and dancing so much lol

Our next BTB of the year gets posted of the Maknae Line runway show. Lmao Jimin plays revolving door to Tae and JKs runway walks and it's silliness and rough housing and just fun. We see how they are all so playful together, it's good natured rough housing between friends. The video cuts off with Jimin grabbing Tae and then looks like he is about the grapple with JK.

On 140106, Jimin posts on Twitter a Maknae line photo. The caption saying "we started the day with some pumpkin. TaeTae ate it all though." And the look Tae is shooting him in the photo is comical 🤣 but they all look very cozy together on that couch sharing a plate 🥰

Followed up with our next moments being from the short BTB of JK dropping honorifics for JM. He went down showing all his hyungs on camera and calling them by name-hyung. And showed Jimin last with just a Jimin-ah. And immediately giggling as Jimin swatted at him for being a brat. JK did this a lot, being kinda bratty towards Jimin to get his attention. Jimin in turn, allowed this, thought it was funny and indulged his behavior. If it had truly bothered him, JK would have stopped. It brings me back to his statement on Rookie King, where he says he teases hyung because he likes him so much. It is a playful banter between them.

On 140119, we get the behinds of them receiving the best New artist award at the Golden Disc Awards. It's your general Jinjikook rough housing and brattiness, and then maknae line messing with their Suga hyung as he is talking the whole time too. I swear, JK tried tried inhale Yoongi with how hard he was sniffing him as Jimin laughed and pointed 😂 which gets followed up a few days later with a mostly Vhope focused BTB of the guys all dancing/singing to trot. Vhope dancing together and drawing the others into it. Jikook do a little "duet" together though too. Including it here mostly because it's insanely cute

On 140126, they post an OT7 log, giving well wishes to each other for the coming year of 2014. They go down the row. There really isn't anything happening here between KM, but I'm including it because I think it shows their general attitude approaching this year, things they had going on and their personal mindsets. And it was precious seeing their hopes for each other. It was also the first time mentioned about Jimin going on some extremely strict diets that ended up getting ARMY worried about how little he was eating. And Tae voicing that worry and telling him he just wants him to be healthy was very heartwarming. Young Kookie just listening to everyone very intently too. They are so hardworking and humble.

February kicks off with them dropping their Skool Luv Affair Showcase Making DVD. It's about 90ish minutes and has a few Jikook moments but is mostly just showcasing them working hard, being goofy together and their playful energy. They also had solo questions, and JM and JK both listed Love as one of the 3 things they felt like they needed in life for Happiness. The other moments I feel are worth mentioning from this DVD are their responses to the question about what would happen if the members all liked the same person. I think Jimin very affectively shuts down all those weird shipper theories and worries about him dating anyone else or liking anyone else if another one of his members also liked that person. If you know with this one, you know.

And during a small segment of the DVD about JK loving his hyungs, it was tons of cute clips of JK hanging out with his older members while waiting to perform, the jikook one was adorable, holding hands and dancing backstage together. I won't lie and say it didn't give off a bit of a different vibe to me then the other clips, but maybe that's just my bias coming through.

On 140212, Jimin posted a series of 4 photos of him with jikook on Fancafe, with the caption "Real Men Brushing Teeth." It was super cute.. They were all quite obsessed with this real men, manly men type of attitude in these first few years. Jimin being named the most manly among them during the showcase DVD mentioned above. And on the 18th they appear in a video message together for Hobi's birthday, everyone else filmed solo and the other members even question why they did it together with no response. Lol the whole video is emotional and cute as heck. Watch if you haven't! 😭 always makes me tear up. The beginning of them sticking together through many video messages and ending remarks even though they really don't have to be doing it together at all. Lol

Also on the 18th is this 60 seconds Interview. This is the first time (I believe) that JK gets asked to give his rating of the members on their looks as the Maknae and ranks Jimin last (himself 6th) and this then sort of becomes a running gag joke in the group. One that Jimin laughs off well here.

We get another interview on the 22nd, this one not as silly as the 60 second one, but clearly still them Goofing off. Jimin spends a lot of time with his hand on JKs thigh. Jungkook again gets asked for his ranking of the members looks. He again, ranks Jimin last here too and Jin first. Jimin does seem a little disappointed, but still definitely is willing to joke about it with everyone else too and laughs it off.

The next moment we get is a Jikook log, our first in a while. It's posted on the 24th and is very sweet. Jimin gushes over JK a lot in this one and there is also a lot of talk over how close the two of them are, how they sleep outside in the living room together, work out together, practice together. He also talks a lot about how JK has grown up. He also mentions here the past 2 interviews where JK ranked him last in looks repeatedly. Jokingly shaking him and saying he is going to kill him while JK giggles.

My opinion is that JK isn't actually ranking Jimin last in looks. I think he doesn't think ANY of them are last in looks. I think he was a young kid here who was put on the spot in an interview and didn't know what to do. I don't think he wanted to rank anyone last and I think he thought Jimin would be the best able to handle the jokes and teasing, not realizing that he was hitting on Jimins own insecurities a bit there too. It falls in line with the way they teased each other back then. So I really think it was more of a "I think Jimin can handle the joke the best" thing. JK looked up to him a lot and Jimin was always giving off a very confident and secure vibe. Where as others, such as the rapline, had expressed insecurities before and had plenty of haters attacking their looks at that point. I think he just thought Jimin would brush it off the easiest. It was never something he seriously meant anyway and the joke took on a life of its own after all this anyway too with JK and all the others because Jimin himself played into it and laughed it off. And then once the joke became a thing for them, it spiraled out of control and feelings weren't *really* considered a whole lot. They were young, that happens between all of them at times when jokes jokes too far. That's my take on this whole weird dynamic there anyway.

I'm including this video link, not because there is a jikook moment here, but more to "disprove" a jikook moment. BTS did a skit for Mnet before their Just One Day performance on the Mnet stage. And I've seen the moment of Jimin pushing Tae away from JK in sooooo many jikook jealousy moments. Using this as proof of Jimins feelings for JK, that he didn't want Tae to be pretending to kiss him. It's taken out of context though. When you see the whole thing, it's obviously all scripted. And right before that, there is a moment basically exactly like it with Jin pretending to go kiss JK and Suga stopping and pushing him away. No one was jealous, no one was trying to actually kiss or seduce JK either. They were all just following the script for this little skit. Which was... weird, yes, but it was all acting between all of them here. BTS does weird ass skits sometimes. We all just need to accept this 😂

Another link for the 140227 심심타파 SSTP Radio Broadcast. JK gets asked "As the Maknae, when I'm lonely, upset or worried... the hyung that gives me the warmest comfort and best attention is...?" And JK answered "Jimin hyung" and Jimin wrapped him up in a big hug smiling super big. Just once again showing how they are one of the closest duos already at this time and JK was already considering Jimin to be a place of comfort for him. Just One more thing to disprove all those jikook weren't close or JK didn't like Jimin in the early years theories. They've always been wonderful friends together for sure.

I'm also including this link to their radio show interview with Jungchi and Harim, not because of any moment that stands out as something more than anything else, but because around 40 minutes in, they all talk about how JK is more carefree, playful, loud, etc with them then he is on camera, where he gets more nervous with his interactions and is a little more quiet and solemn. Adding it for those who want to watch, and because it's something we get told often about JK over the years and speaks to recognizing how it may have affected his actions and dynamics with his hyungs that we see.

Link again to JKs entrance to high-school video. He brought all his hyungs out with him for this one along with his mom and dad. Everyone was soooo proud of him and doting all over him. "Our pretty Jungkookie" and talking about how proud they are. It was adorable. And they all went out for a meal afterwards too. No big KM moments in this video, but it leads us to these 2 posts over this day, also posted on the same day 140304. Jimin made a Twitter post about not only their performance that day, but about being proud of JK doing his entrance ceremony. He also made a fancafe post featuring a photo of the back of JKs head. The caption about being proud of their youngest and saying that he is "very close with Kookie now." And finally the photo they posted all together on Twitter. That we know they recreated later on in 2017 after he graduates too

Playful JinJiKook BTB once again showcasing JKs love of girl group dances and Jin being very fond of his dongsaengs. And when they all did am activity about how God made the members for each other, JK got Jimin and his was very cute. Lmao they were all teasing each other a bit with it. JK said that God made Jimin with cuteness, abs, dance and spilled/forgot all of the height 😂 Link to full video of them "presenting" their papers over the members. Mnet posts BTS on their twitter for a countdown. It includes 4 photos of jikook being very cute together. Jimin and Jungkook on 140321 host a special MC on Music Bank together Link below. They also had an official Twitter post announcing their MCing together, with the photo I used at the very top of this whole post. Lol

And on 140322, Big Hit posts photos of Jikook together being cute. JKs smile in the first one and Jimins smile in the second one 🥰 they were trying to be tough manly men I'm sure

At the end of March, they did an Interview with Haru Hana Magazine Vol. 23. Here is the full translation of their solo interviews. And here is the full spread of the Magazine with their interviews and photo spreads. The only parts I want to mention here is that both JM and JK mention the other as the sporty guy when assigning "school roles" to the members (they click!) and that Jimin twice brought up JKs shyness with the female lead in the MV. Once in his own Interview mentioning how that was supposed to just be shot with JK and the female lead actor. But that JK was so shy and so Jin and Jimin ended up taking parts of the shot so he had less to do. And he interjected in Jungkooks own solo Interview to say it as well. JK saying that his facial expressions in the MV were because he was trying to show that he wanted to opposite sex to become his woman. Lol to which Jimin interrupts and giggles saying that he only 16 and wants them to be his woman, but that he couldn't look the female lead in the eye at all. You can see the exact translations in the links above. But Jimin! Let him breathe! Lol

Jimin makes a Twitter post with a photo from a Thai photoshoot they did back at the end of 2013. His caption translated would be: "While looking through the photo gallery I discovered a photo during our Thailand photoshoot hehe I want to throw my body into a swimming pool again.. Oowah~~ If only Summer would quickly arrive ㅜ the hyungs look stuffed hehe." (Not my translation.) This Thailand photoshoot and DVD get released later in April

April kicks off with the release of Hanryu Pia Japan Magazine, April Edition. With them being interviewed over their Boy In Luv MV. When asked at the end about what other attractions were in the MV, both Jimin and JK mentioned each other's parts in a teasing manner (JK teasing Jimin about cleaning the toilets scene and Jimin again teasing about JK being shy and having a hard time during his scene with the female actor). Then we get this BTB, nothing major really. Just then having fun together, but their smiles while looking at each other and the giggles are precious. It's all just very cute.

BTS took over MBC Show Champion's Twitter before their performance and its JK who posts! And he takes and posts a photo of Jimin. His caption translated is: "How it’s Jimin he’s so cute right?!Today will be broadcast 6PM KST Pleased be looking forward to us !!Writer BTS Jeon JungKook." (Not my translation).

This bangtan bomb has nothing to do with jikook really. Im only including it for the one line that is more coming off a Vmin moment. Very early on, like 9 seconds in, when about to start their dance, Tae decides to make a grab for Jimins *area* lol. Jimin very quickly deflects him and they all laugh about it, but Jimin laughs and points at the camera awkwardly saying "in front of the camera...." before they all get back to the dance. I think if nothing else, it shows they are aware of and adjust their behavior a bit while they are in front of the camera. Not saying they are groping each other off camera, but the jokes are probably rauchier/dirtier, the skinship and physical intimacy is probably higher, their comfort level is higher, the guards are down, etc. It goes hand in hand with the comments from all the members about the difference in how JK acts/treats them on and off camera too. Something to keep in mind.

BTS at KBS2FM Super Junior Kiss the Radio official interview on 140414. You can find the translations here. The only one I'm wanting to draw attention to is Jimins call out response to JK and Hobi. He says "Jungkook, why is hyung always 7th place in terms of looks rankings?! Is hyung really that ugly? J-Hope hyung, When you’re bored, you’re always messing around with your dongsaeng, always dissing me. Do you take me for a fool??" Its the first time we see him really give a hint that it bothers him, this 7th in looks rankings ongoing joke. It's the first time he says that he IS insecure about that, even if it's said in a more joking way, it's still the first time we see him bring it up and not just totally blow it off and laugh it off. And he mentions Hobi teasing him a lot too. He brings up teasing between 3J again in later interviews this year as well that I will get to eventually.

140425 brings us back to M!Countdown and a backstage interview. Clips from this interview are again very popular in jkk compilations. So I'm sure you've seen it, but if you haven't seen the whole thing, make sure to watch. This gives us our first video of Jimin jokingly asking JK out on a date and claiming he wants to spend their next day off together. JK doesn't really reciprocate this desire in this video. No, I don't think this is Jimin confessing his crush. I think this is him playing it up a bit for the camera, but also needling and pushing at those walls that JK still always has up in front of the camera. Wanting to push his boundaries a bit more while still expressing his want to be even closer to the maknae then he already is.

So this wraps up the first 4 months of the year. I think it's important to remember and keep in mind that this is not everything they all did these 4 months nor is it even all the jikook moments of the past 4 months. This is a lot, yes, but it's the ones I felt like drawing attention to. My opinion here is that this really doesn't give us too much of a shift in dynamics from 2013. What it shows us is that Jimin and Jungkook were close in 2013. And in 2014 they started to get even closer. Jimin very much so also wanted us to KNOW that they were even closer now then they were before. And he very much so wants to continue to get even closer than they already are too. Hence the teasing and asking for more time spent together too.

Add in that we know JK isn't as shy or withdrawn from his hyungs off camera as he sometimes is on camera, it becomes even more clear how close they already were and just getting closer and Jimin pushing for that closeness a lot.

Add in again that they teasingly complain about JK teasing his hyungs too much and how a lot of that is centered towards Jimin. How Jimin is already letting him get away with everything. How JK already seeks out Jimins attention and affection and how Jimin already has a soft spot a mile wide for his maknae and wants to be even closer still then they are. He clearly loves JK a lot and loves spending time with him, and vice versa too.

So in conclusion, no, I'm not seeing any shift in feelings between them during this first part of the year. It's all still very friendly, but they also clearly are special to each other already too and find a happiness and comfort in each other and playing together. It's all very very sweet and I love seeing it so much! We start seeing a bit of a possible shift in their behavior with each other I the next coming months of this year too, especially in Jimin, which we will talk about in part 2!

Thoughts on the comic and Skully's Identity. [Slight Spoiler Warning? Not really any plot spoilers just details and characters.]

So a lot of people accept that Jay is probably Skully, either surviving or something else. However there's also speculation that it could be Alex, Jessica, or even Seth Wilson, a few thinking about Tim. (Though I would rule him out as the artist drew what he looked like in the Comic on another post) So I raked out every detail I can. Of course it can all just be a stylistic choice but whatever - make of it what you will.

It could just be some new random asshole, but It's a given they know Jessica, so it is very likely to be Jay. He presumed she was gone, unless he watched the last Entry. That would also explain "It's you" sort of "oh shit" moment. Jay was also set on looking for Jessica, so if he did survive, you could assume that would still be one of his motives. Tim wouldn't likely have that "it's you" moment because he knows Jessica is alive. Alex might have that reaction though. I believe he presumed that she was gone.

It also takes two things from Brian and Tim. The hoodie and the plastic mask. So this person has likely seen both of them and came to imitate their appearance.

Coat Buttons

The Jacket appears to have snap on metal buttons. It's typical for this style of jacket (similar to a utility jacket, which would be useful and warm to run all over the goddamn woods at night) to have the buttons placed on top of the left side for a men's jacket. (Of course it could just be any person in a men's styled jacket, but still.)

I picked this out because it's paid attention to very carefully as a detail. Of course that's good for continuity, but I know for filming Marble Hornets they were very careful with detail and hinting at things.

2. Height

They're only seen crouching up to a door with Jessica on the other side, but if they both stood straight, they'd come to be about the same height, which was true for Jay and Jessica in the series.

3. You are broken but you CAN be fixed

This is what the masked figure says to Jessica. Similar to ToTheArks video saying Alex was broken, but couldn't be fixed. That might line up with Jay's motives because he continued to think he could solve the situation. It could be argued he also believed Alex could be saved from the Operator. It it were Alex, it could be his own changed perspective in whatever "form" this is now. That would be quite interesting to see why he would go from wanting to destroy the tapes to actively giving someone the tapes.

4. Not a point but something I noticed.

On the Rosswood bulletin, there is a blurry poster that looks like it could be a "Missing" sign. Who for - I don't know, but it does kind of appear they have glasses, so it could be Alex? This could also just be meaningless background illustration.

In the same frame, Adam also talks about people getting lost in the woods and says, "The Majority of them were recovered safely but," and he stops. That's a pretty cliffhanger "but" there Adam.

Closer inspection of the Rosswood Map shows Rosswood Rd, mentioned in the series, and was supposed to be the road off the usual parking lot they stopped in when meeting up, and an X location to hard to read atm, but it is off the beaten path.

5. In a silly doodle drawing in the comic files, I did notice this poster with a skull on it. It may just be nothing but could also be implying that whoever is in the skull mask died and came back.

Also I appreciate that the soda is Conk.

6. It's Fall about 10 years later after the first incidents in Rosswood began, in the timeline 2019 ish, but that is apparent from the trees outside and the time the comic was created at.

7. Jessica has a "Sarah" in her phone. Could he literally the millions of Sarah's but I'll point it out anyway. But more interesting barely covered is Tim's contact.

8. I was thinking about why their seems to be Blue Lenses in Skully's mask, they're even visible from a distance. Now this is really digging at the bottom of barrel but when Jessica grabs the pipe to defend herself, it's highlighted by red for emphasis. Red and Blue have often been a scheme for duelity and such.

This repeats again in the second title page:

A lot could be discerned from it. Maybe she is Skully, like a second half of her, as one of her nightmares is fighting against herself. May also not mean that and be another symbol of duelity, red vs blue.

I don't think the blue is styling choice because you can quite clearly see eyes in Masky's drawing. I believe there is definitely something covering their eyes - like lenses. Their "fashion choices" are also leaning towards the expensive side I noticed. Unless they just stole it went to a goodwill and got lucky. A utility jacket like that would cost somewhere beyond a $100 unless you're lucky. I'd pay to see a cryptid running around in Gucci in butt-fuck-nowhere Alabama in the middle of the night. Or who knows maybe Alex got some prescription lenses put in that shit.

9. Do I even have to explain the symbolism of a Jay.

10. I can say with good certainty this probably symbolises Jessica's memory of Alex.

11. Some damning evidence, whoever is in the mask has access to the original entry files, not just downloaded YouTube stuff. Jay, Tim, Totheark would likely have access to that. Alex was pretty dead-set on having all the traces deleted, I'd doubt he'd have them all uploaded to a computer.

12. No idea what this might represent besides some metaphor for life being a merry go round, but in the postcard Skully is chilling on a horse lmao. "Stuck in a loop of unhappiness." Ring a bell?

13. Can't attach another photo but the abandoned house Jessica goes to has "Bones" written on it, much like the Hospital did. In the original series they said that graffiti was just there, so maybe they decided to work with it? Who knows maybe it's some kind of new group? Maybe ToTheArk vs "Bones?" You CAN'T be fixed vs You CAN be fixed.

14. I also can't speculate what it exactly means, but it's obvious Skully can talk, not seen previously with the others. Whether out of an inability or just not wanting to. Could be argued it's a person behind the mask by choice, not volition. We also don't really know if Brian chose his path or became that. But he became a masked cryptid after supposedly "dying". We also never see people "die" just assume they have died or are dead and they disappear. Tim implies that it's just feeding off them, physically or mentally. They always die off camera or get fucked off somewhere by the egg head. They appear dead afterwords, with Jay and Brian, but still missing. All of their bodies were taken by the monster and are god knows where in some seperate dimension. This is borderline r/im14andthisisdeep but what is "death" in this series. Does it mean gone permanently or just "gone" ... For an unknown amount of time. People die, but do they stay that way? Or do they die ... In one sense, but not the other, Losing something of themselves from before, and becoming something new. That would awfully explain Brian's behavior after Alex "killed" him. It's also implied there are others apart of ToTheArk that were never shown in the series, suspected to be other members of the original cast who maybe had "died" and come back as someone else. Something broken.

Tim seems to be an outlier. It's presumed he has avoided death, and essentially kept his mentality. But still slips into another form out of his control, usually in response to the monster or the hooded man being near and stealing his pills and shit. Is he between death? Is that why doucheslender follows him? "The one that got away." Istg I don't take drugs.
