when I downloaded tumblr for more Käärijä lore I remember one post so well but can't remember who wrote it, maybe it was in the tags, but it was a friendly rant about how Jere and Bojan are the cutest but also the most annoying couple to watch or something. And one line was

Trent is our dumb little princess who deserves only nice things in life. He's very blorbo-shaped despite his lack of defining personality (during Island) and/or his title of the Narratives' Favourite Punching Bag (Action did him so dirty character wise), but you have to remember that Trent was intentionally designed to be the "normal guy", meaning he's got the same appeal as any other "everyman protagonist"; that is, you can project/insert as many headcanons onto him as you'd like and they're all feasible! A jack of all trades, if you will.

(DunTrent is the mirror image of Gwourtney in my mind, which makes it very funny to imagine. I wonder how it'd work out?)

Trent is just functional enough to have gotten a driver's licence post-Action, and he probably inherited a beat-up pickup truck from his dad, or was gifted a second hand Ford Focus for his birthday. He's altruism would quickly lead to him becoming friend groups' allotted taxi driver, though he laments his charitableness when they take advantage of this.

The Cody incident was probably an accident (...at least, that's what he claims 😈), since I can imagine Cody being the eternal passenger princess to Trent's long-suffering designated driver. Justin and Harold would be the bickering siblings in the back seat on their way to their next gig, since they has tour bus privileges revoked after one of their public scandals leading Trent to be their main means of travel between shows. (He's itching to run over his bandmates at any given moment. Every time one of the boys walks in front of his car it's an internal battle against his morality and the desire to floor it.)

Ugh I really like writing for Leo but I feel like there's something limited in his story :,(. I'm glad you like him!!

TW: dude living in your walls, obsessive-ish behavior, mostly fluff

A collector-- or rather a borderline hoarder. He stashes little trinkets and shiny things in his home inside the walls. 

• Doesn't quite feel comfortable sleeping or even really living in any space besides the walls. Appreciates the couch and your bed to lay with you in, or even to rest his head on your lap, but hardly ever sleeps there unless requested. Leo has gotten so used to being inside the walls and fearing the sound of footsteps outside that he's still not yet adjusted to the idea of living away from them.

• You've learned to recognize where he is inside the house by how far away his footsteps sound, and the creak of the walls. Though, there are times where you don't notice him nearby and nearly scream from seeing his eyes poking out of the little holes he dug. 

• Leo has agreed to stop making holes in the walls, but only if they are left uncovered so he can see out of them. Though, you wouldn't compromise with him on the bathroom. Every now and then though you have to re-cover the holes after you find them visible. You try your best to scold him for the pervy behavior, but can't bring yourself to hate him once he twiddles his fingers and shrinks down shamefully. 

• Leo is curious, and doesn't always realize the weight of his actions. So when he caresses your skin and tries to pry under your clothes, he doesn't entirely understand why you're so hesitant. You're friends now right? So shouldn't he be able to touch you?

• You still catch him from time to time trying to caress your inner thigh or underneath your shirt when you're sleeping. 

• Leo doesn't like it when you have friends over. You thought about introducing him to them, but decided against it considering all the odd complications that would come with. You didn't want one of your friends calling the authorities on Leo, even if they were trying to do it for your own good. You knew he wouldn't be able to survive by himself in an unknown element. And besides, things were going alright, even if he was getting more touchy and whiny than usual.

• Likes to nuzzle into your chest, curling up like a scrawny barn cat cuddling for warmth. He especially loves it when you wear t-shirts big enough for him to slide underneath and share with you, even if it isn't the most comfortable.

• Leo is kind of like a pet in that he’s very cautious and curious, and also mooches off of you in any way that he can. He doesn’t understand most social formalities or polite ways of doing things, but he’s always interested to learn, especially if it gives him a chance to be with you.

again, i'm not familiar with much anime myself, but one of the series that would fit in this category for me would be takano ichigo's orange! i discovered it through an article of shoujo recs last summer and i quickly became obsessed.

I came for the sci-fi twist and slice of life setting, and stayed for the memorable cast of characters and heart-wrenching internal conflicts. I have definitely held back from recommending it to everyone since it deals with a fair amount of sensitive topics. At the same time I think that the series did an adequate job of tackling those subjects without being completely overbearing or sugary. I also liked the little tweak to the familiar love triangle, where the two boys truly respected one another and the other's relationship with the girl instead of just fighting over who won her heart.

One of the biggest strengths of this series was the strong bond between the six friends. I never felt like Hagita, Azusa or Takano were ever "unneeded" or "filler" characters. I loved how they immediately accepted Kakeru and tried their best to make him feel included and loved. Another strength of the story was how it highlighted quiet inner strength in its main characters. I know both Naho and Kakeru got some flack for being indecisive, but as a shyer person myself I understand how hard it is to move forward after something difficult or gain courage for an action out of your comfort zone.

I also enjoyed the general aesthetic of the anime! I have so many other graphics/collages I created focused on the series and made a playlist last summer dedicated to "orange vibes." I still love adding newer songs to it whenever I think they fit, whether that's through the theme of the lyrics or the feel of the music. some of my favorites would be:

The problem with my brain having been obsessed with knowing what fictional characters' singing voices sound like since I was a little kid, and especially now that I'm a vocalist as an adult, is that I can't listen to hardly anything without that voice in the back of my head being like "oh this sound. This specific moment in this specific verse or chorus or whatever. That's specifically what xyz character(s) would sound like!" And I hyperfixate on that for the rest of my life and I craft so many headcanons 😭

That being said, when he's singing seriously Atticus has an incredible voice argue with the wall. Atty has a very wide range but his voice really lives and thrives in the mid range. But he likes to sing higher pitches whenever he gets the chance and is very good at harmonizing. When he gets Chazz to sing with him he always let's Chazz take the melody as often as possible and harmonizes over him. He also plays like every fuckin stringed instrument and hosts weekly campfire jams for the J-Squad to unwind and hang out and de-stress ☺ he always schedules them around his and Chazz's Saturday night sleepovers so they never miss one 😌

Chazz can also sing but doesn't discover it until Atticus gets him to sing with him during like a campfire jam session or one of their regular hangouts. His voice is best suited for more mellow, slower songs like me wow wonder why I headcanon that 🙄. and everyone is very impressed by his vocals, but he gets huffy and embarrassed whenever anyone compliments his voice. In my head his vocal range is on the lower to mid range side and has a very nice rasp to it, especially on the lower pitches where it's a little more prevalent and compliments Atty's voice so they blend very well.

Jaden has the perfect pop punk voice. Just the perfect tone and range, perfectly unrefined sound for it too. But if anyone asked he would shrug and say he couldn't sing. Of course he can, but he doesn't particularly think he's all that good and doesn't really care if he can or not, it's not that important to him like card games are so he'd rather not call attention to it askskskks. His ego is reserved for card games and card games alone 🤭. But he always hypes up the others during Atty's campfire jams and he participates fairly often because he thinks it's fun and everyone else seems to enjoy it when he does so he's down for it. He also lives in the mid range but has a pretty strong upper register for belting out those pop punk classics 😌 Dear Maria is his now Alex

Alexis is an alto, she lives in the mid to lower register, she does have a little bit of an upper register too but she lives on the lower side. Her voice is very warm and soothing and mature and just nice af. But she's self conscious about it so she doesn't sing very much and almost never around other people. Leading to the theory that when the subject could come up she, like Jay, would says she couldn't sing but unlike Jay, she just isn't confident in her voice even though it's very good. Atty likes to nudge her to try and get her to sing with him at his campfire jams, but she always declines. He keeps trying though 🤭

Hassleberry has a surprisingly good voice, very warm like Alexis's and lives in the mid to lower register like her. If she sang, they would blend very well I think. He's private about his voice too, but he'd be fine if the crew find out about it. His southern drawl is still quite prevalent when he sings and it really elevates the gentle warmth of his voice. His vocals are unrefined and amateurish but they're still very strong. He prefers songs with simpler melodies and really thrives in softer, more melodious country/bluegrass music which isn't a surprise to anyone but the fact that his voice is so warm and gentle despite his rough exterior makes people view him in a different light. But in a good way 🙂 he's embarrassed at first when the J-Squad finds out he can sing, but he comes around quickly and has participated in a couple campfire jams himself every once in a while.

Syrus's isn't very different from his regular speaking voice at all I don't think. He has a very young sounding voice and he hates it. It's not bad by any means, he just feels self conscious about it like Alexis but also like he's self conscious about literally everything. Same my guy. That being said, he's a tenor. He has almost no lower register but he has enough of one 👍. His voice is very light, which he's also self conscious about. And he tends to stick to humming, he feels less embarrassed and self conscious that way and wouldn't die on the spot if anyone heard him. Also like me, if he is actually singing along to a song and it gets too low or he just feels like it's too low, he sings it up the octave.

And unsurprisingly at least to me, I feel like Bastion has the most old fashioned type of voice. His range is also very wide like Atty's is. He knows he can sing and is confident about it around strangers, but if anyone he knew heard him or complimented his voice he'd blush and get very embarrassed in an adorable way. Honestly he enjoys the compliments but he doesn't really know how to handle getting them for something not having to do with how smart he is, so he gets flustered when people compliment his voice, to varying degrees depending on how well he knows the person complimenting him or not. That being said, if you want anyone singing the old school classics at the Christmas party or some golden age musicals, you want Bastion.

character ask: yuri, please ☺

First impression: He was not immune to propaganda 😔 he's young, maybe he's got potential to get better.

Impression now: Ok he's funny at least. I'm still very wary of him but he does have his moments.

Favorite moment: I think when he was teaching Anya. While he might not have intended to actually care for Anya's studies, it was really nice to see how he handled her making a mistake. He said that it's okay that she made a mistake, and just had to understand how to do it right. That's a really kind teaching method to approach kids, especially young ones. It shows he knows how to handle kids and how to be kind to them (and he even did it better than Loid did at the start, lol)

Idea for a story: I'm just gonna copy-paste my idea from my post about Loid: Twilight has disguised himself as Yuri because for Reasons he has to infiltrate the SSS offices, but then for some reason the actual Yuri appears there too. “Yuri” and Yuri fight, and an incompetent officer finds them, aiming his gun at them. Twilight is silent, but Yuri tries to convince the guy that’s he’s the real Yuri and he should shoot the fake one. The guy says that “Only a spy would act like that” and shoots. While that happens, within a split second Twilight thinks “I have to let him die. I have to get out of here. I have to let him die.” But he just cannot do that because he knows how much it would devastate Yor to lose her brother… so he pushes him out of the way and takes the bullet instead. Maybe not anywhere too dangerous, like his arm or something. But it’s enough to slow him down as he tries to escape, and he’s finally caught while still wearing the mask with Yuri’s face. You can imagine Yuri’s shock and horror when he realizes it’s “Loi-Loi”, who is a spy and tried to infiltrate the offices and also saved his fucking life. Because as many lies as Loid has said, Yuri has now absolute proof that this man really does love his sister. I think it would fucking break him, especially once the SSS starts torturing Loid. His belief that Westalis is the enemy and anyone from it wants to destroy the country his sister lives in, versus the proof that a Westalian spy cares so much for said sister that he preferred to be arrested and tortured if it meant Yor wouldn't lose Yuri. Maybe it could be the proof he needed to abandon what he's been doing all along.

Unpopular opinion: I don't know where the icky headcanons about him being actually in love with Yor came from, but I genuinely don't think he has any intention of taking things there with his sister. Yes he is super obsessed and devoted and overprotective of her, but I don't understand how people see that and think "Oh he must wanna *** her". I mean, no, I do understand, we do live in a world that's very sex-obsessed but very sexually repressed at the same time, and thus people can reach such wacky conclusions.

Anyway, someone on tumblr said at some point that the only reason Yuri is suspicious of Loid is not because he married Yor, but because Yor didn't tell him for an entire year about their marriage, and it's understandable how that would sit very wrong with Yuri. The fact that Yuri is also jealous of Anya because she spends all day with Yor proves that all Yuri wants is to spend more time with his sister. A lot little obsessed and overprotective, yeah. Icky, I don't think so.

Favorite relationship: Honestly, I'd say with Anya. I want them to spend more time together so that she can bring out his soft and/or playful side. Everyone deserves a bit of Anya in their lives.

Favorite headcanon: I think it's actually canon from when he helped Anya study but I believe he speaks at least one foreign language fluently. For their time period that's actually pretty impressive.

Also yes! The Neatherlands are way too overpopulated hehehe, one of the only things I'm not a fan of. So if I just go over there to be a tourist Amsterdam definitelly wouldn't be the main focus.

Some words just sound so awkward or out of place I guess. I would burst into laughter with some kinky words in my native language🤭but I'm also not the biggest fan of mixing English and my native language since it's a slavic language and they just sound very different. I will definitelly be sticking to English with kink🤭English is cool because it has a huge vocabulary so there are a lot of words to choose from.

I've seen Lucifer one time, and now I watch some episodes from time to time. It was one of the series I've watched during the quarantine times so it has a special place in my heart. 1. Music ❤ listening to it, making playlists, buying CDs, obsessing over it with other people who like the same music, waiting for new releases, going to concerts and everyone screaming along, just music music music msusicmuismsucic ❤❤❤

2. I passed my driving test yesterday and that has made me pretty happy! Finally I can crack out the P plates (they came in a pack with the L plates so they've been sat in a drawer for about a year and a half 😭)

3. Games or apps where u get to dress up a little character that looks like u 🥰 I literally change my bitmojis outfit like once a week on snapchat LOL I just love dressing things up 😆

4. Reading & writing! 📚✍ I can't wait until summer I'll have so much more time for it <3 every time I go into my bedroom my kindle is sat there staring at me like read me read me read me 😅

5. As much stress as it causes me my university course really does make me happy 💓 it's super interesting, I just love learning especially about psychology, all the projects I've been able to work on this year have been really fun, all my coursemates are lovely and there's only 5 of us so there's no drama 😅 also i think the course that I'm on has only been running for 3 or 4 years and this is the last year they're running it bc it's not popular enough for the university to justify it :( so I feel really lucky that i got to do it bc it really is the perfect course for me lol - also not to be a massive sap but I really love my university as well, everyone is so lovely and the campus is so lovely and I'm lowkey sad that I have to leave but I know I'll be welcome back anytime ☺

Your ask was actually how I came to know about Shadow Detective, and subsequently that there are kdramas (or at least one?) on Disney+ now, apparently????? Which could signify we're entering an era where they are simply considered tv shows—which for some of them, including, I believe, the Shadow Detective kind, it's long overdue.

I've watched the trailers available for SD. I liked that the main character is an older detective that wants to retire. We don't see MCs of his age range often, and a person with a lot of experience is more interesting for me to observe than beginners, honestly. I don't know about the supporting roles, but I'm usually satisfied with a good murder mystery. I'm putting this one on my list. Thank you 🧡

Hmmm I started watching t-dramas only six months ago, so I'm still getting used to see them all over my blog, too. It was a lot different than starting to regularly watch k-dramas, because before doing that I was already invested in the korean culture for many yaers. But with thai dramas... I got into it knowing so little I had some embarrassing moments, at first. Everything was new to me, but there was a lot of history to be learned. Well, there still is, and I seem to be hypnotized. Fixated. Obsessed. *gesticulates* But it's just a phase, I'm sure.
