ok so I couldn't get the age order to be the way I wanted and ignore the moms names they're just placeholders;

but here is Abby's immediate family for the bookseller and the florist. François was married to Anne and they had Matt; they got divorced and after the divorce François realized he was Bi. Such is life. Matt was an "every 3 days kid" until he was like 12 and something with the custody came up; he went to being with dad all the time and mom only every other weekend. And by the time he was 15-ish he just stayed with François (and Will) all the time.

Will was married to Dorothy (they were highschool sweethearts who got married at like 19 and everyone was like 'bad idea but go off ig'), they pretty quickly had Jack, and then about three years later Liam. William had some Stuff (TM) happened that made him realize he was gay, him and Dorothy were divorced by the time Liam was 1. They're still decently good friends, even though she moved pretty far away. Jack and Liam always spent summers with her, school year with William and then bounced back and forth for the allotted holidays.

{side note there's eight-ish years between François and Will so Matt is significantly older than Jack and Liam even tho their dads were about the same age when they had their first kid}

I haven't decided exactly but Abby was somewhere between 7-10 when she was adopted; she's older than Liam, about the same age as Jack, and younger than Matt (yes i know what the fic says i'm going to edit some things). Will and François had been together for about 3-ish years when they adopted Abby. (well, William adopted Abby, François got his name added when it became legal where they lived when she was about 12)

{side note pt 2. in this AU François and Will never actually get married due to a little thing called "it's not legal yet" & when it does become legal they just don't bc of a mutual "marriage was fun to try but i'm never doing that again sorry"; they might file for some sort of civil partnership eventually but besides that}

Years later, like Liam is in his 2nd year of highschool later, they get early on-set empty nest do some Debating, and end up getting a surrogate and having Peter. Officially they don't know who his bio dad is, but you look at the boy for two minutes and can tell he's a Kirkland. Just,,, Matt is back in town, Abby & Jack are back from College for fall break or smth, Liam is in highschool he's always home but; they sit all the kids down and are just "we have big news, we're having a baby!" and the general reaction is "what-what the fuck? aren't you two like,,, ancient?"

Anyway time goes on, Peter is like 3, Liam moved out to live with his mom and go to college around where she lives, Abby is back with an English degree to help Will run the shop (initially she was going to be a teacher but changed her mind); Jack is getting some long fancy degree no one quite understands but he's hyped about it and he's never been excited about school. And Matt is off wandering a national park and having a grand old time doing it.

Pete is down for a nap François slides in the room with a serious conversation to have with William;

within two years they've adopted Angelique, she's about six when Pete is five so they're close but not as close as Abby and Jack. It's so stereotypical but Abby was super happy to have a sister FINALLY she had kinda been hoping Peter was a girl but it's fine. She's fine.

And then last but def not least in the story there is actually going to be a future chapter when Abby drags Lars to meet her parents with the excuse of "you know that baby my parents have been fostering? Wendy? well the adoption papers finally went through, so legally she's their kid and legally she's my sister and they're throwing a little party and you should come and meet the rest of my family everyone is going to be there yes bring Emma and Henri"

Hi Sage!! thank you for dropping by! I must tell you that I've been thinking a lot about this since you sent it to me; originally I was gonna write a short blurb but I didn't want to give you something so short! So please accept these long ass headcanons (it occurs to me this is the first time I'm doing headcanons!? so I hope these aren't too lame!)

So I watched what video where the costume designer is explaining every little detail of each character’s wardrobe and when they got to Eddie MY MIND started going all over the place

Everything he wears is special to him for different reasons, literally every single detail is significant to him, no matter how tiny.

I’ve included this bit in the latest chapter of my fic, No One Like You, but I headcanon that his leather jacket was a gift from his uncle, right when Eddie was experimenting with his look, growing out of his awkward phase and embracing his identity through his style 

Eddie’s always been into classic rock but as he grew up, along with the way music was evolving, is when he started getting into heavy metal and more of that ‘wizard’ metal like Dio.  

After he started buying those records and further immersing himself in that music, clearly he wanted to look the part – look like he belonged in that world. 

So his Uncle Wayne, who is actually super supportive of him, got him that leather jacket. It was either his or he found it at a second hand shop (still torn between which, but my heart goes a little soft at the idea that it was his uncle's originally).

When Wayne got him his jacket it was still too big for him, but Wayne was super cool and fatherly about it, telling him that, ‘you’ll grow into it, son.’ But initially it fit Eddie like a leather version of a wizard's cape (which he didn’t mind, actually!) 

So his leather jacket is one of those things that he’s had for a long time and that is very dear to him, like his own version of a teddy bear. Later he gets his denim vest and that one’s special because it’s his own little canvas where he can put all his band pins and patches. The DIO one is extra valuable to him because it was a limited edition one that he got when he bought the album.

His jacket is already chipped here and there, the leather is a bit worn, and he’s had to add different chains and links to mend the few rips around the cuffs that it has. 

Because it’s so fragile now, obviously he’s very picky about its handling. 

He gets weirdly annoyed when he’s hanging out with his friends, either at a casual get-together at someone’s house, or at school for the D&D campaigns, and everyone sheds their jackets and gets mixed up in the heap of clothes at a corner. He’s not a tidy person in the LEAST but that’s his one pet peeve; he makes sure that his jacket is properly hung someplace. 

So when Eddie meets you and starts going out with you, you know it’s the real deal the moment he puts his jacket around you. 

He wouldn’t have done it were you anyone else. 

It happened one Thursday night; you’d gone to a midnight double-feature at the drive-in, and afterwards you stayed back to comment on the movie, pass the time inside your own little bubble before heading home and ultimately having to face the reality that it was a school night. 

Obviously with Eddie, one thing led to another; the night passed you by as you spent it making out with him and only did you realize how late it had gotten because of the chill creeping in your bones, making you nuzzle into his chest, rubbing on his shoulder blades trying to absorb his heat. 

Of course, being the gentleman that he is, upon noticing you shivering, he didn’t think twice before shedding his leather jacket to envelop it around you. 

You hesitated, knowing what it meant for him, but there was nothing but earnest in his eyes; so you smiled and wrapped it more snugly around your frame. 

With the intention of giving it back the next day, you wore it to school and you reveled in parading around Hawkins High with it, showing off that YES, you’re Eddie The Freak Munson’s partner and proud of it.

(And all the cheerleeders who are secretly into him but never want to admit it can back off now lol)

He actually freezes on the spot when he sees you from afar, going to your locker room. His belly fills with a warm, fuzzy feeling which tugs at the corner of his lips until there’s a wide grin blooming on his face. 

He’s elated, totally over the moon by the sight so all words escape his love-struck brain and all he can do is tackle you against your locker and attack you with smooches all over your face. 

He’s completely glued to you all day, wanting to proudly display that you’re his. 

Obviously he keeps lending it to you and insists you wear it on different ocassions, more often than not, when you're in the back of his band and sexy times ensue lol

His favorite thing ever is when you're wearing nothing but his jacket on.

More and more as the relationship progresses, he does little things to make you part of his world, gives you things like pins or cassettes or bracelets so that you’d always keep parts of him with you. And he also includes you in his outings. 

He wants you to accompany him to the record store to buy music, the bookstore as he strolls around browsing and skimming through horror novels, comics, fantasy books and music magazines (not music related but I headcanon that one of his favorite magazines is Fangoria). 

He has you with him, in charge of changing up the radio station when a song he doesn't like comes up, when he’s working the weekends at Thatcher Tire. 

But the one place you haven’t been to is one of his D&D campaigns, because you’re nervous about disrupting the fun, interfering with his friend’s established dynamic. 

Although you’ve always been curious to see him being a Dungeon Master – after all you’ve sat beside him countless of times as he worked on all the details and narrative for his campaigns. 

One night you finally gather the courage and accept one of his invitations to join. You don’t play on that first night, simply want to watch him in his element – in his own little kingdom. 

And of course, since the nervousness is still there, he lets you wear his jacket as a token of luck but also to comfort you. That way you'd have his embrace all night, even if he was sat afar from you.

Knowing that you’ll get to hold onto a part of him all throughout gives you all the confidence you need that night, as you get to the drama club classroom hand in hand for the night’s game. 

Obviously you didn’t have anything to worry about; everyone is super friendly and affectionate and you’ve never laughed this hard in your life. You’ve found it hilarious whenever his friends would get ACTUALLY, SERIOUSLY mad or frustrated over the scenarios unfolding for them. 

But the highlight of the night is of course, watching him smile with full teeth, move about the place with such speed as if he was in a jungle gym and sit on his throne at the top of the table like the rightful king of the game that he was. You’ve never seen him so unabashedly himself. In there, no one called him a freak, no one gave him shit for his grades or his life choices, he was totally, utterly free, and you felt the luckiest in the world to be a part of that. 

You’re also swooning with how handsome he looks,  with the back lights highlighting his hair and the warmth of the candles all over the room softening all his rough edges, as well as the red fill-lighting illuminating his face in all the right angles. 

It’s truly a sight to behold and it makes you smile, knowing that you’re with him – and that you have his jacket on to proudly display it.

Hello! I know I've seen your name around before, so welcome back! Even when I wasn't posting on this blog specifically, I was still on tumblr posting fic and stuff, so even though there is a gap I've always been here.

Now, as far as the 60th anniversary specials: I haven't watched them and don't plan to for a long time. A long-winded and salty rant by me is under the cut.

To be honest, I haven't felt the need to watch any new Doctor Who since Capaldi and Moffat both left because it all sounded like boring and cringey fan fiction (derogatory) I wasn't really jiving with. If that makes sense? Then RTD came back on as a showrunner and I was severely disappointed because it felt like such a step backwards. Plus that Tennant was going to be in it? No thanks.

Like... I get that to a lot of people, his return makes these specials "feel like Doctor Who again". I've seen that statement a lot from both randos and people I know. Which, fine, whatever, I'm not begrudging people for it, but for a lot of folks saying that, the statement includes a bunch of the show that doesn't feel like Doctor Who to me. I came in w/s5 because of a series of events that turned me off to the show early on. I was nearly sixteen when s1 premiered in the UK. That should have stuck me in the prime demographic to not only love s1-4, but have a sort of nostalgia filter over it to help facilitate excitement over the 60th specials. Well, there's some problems with that.

I can't stand Rose Tyler and any reference to her as something positive makes me cringe. Doctor/Rose in any form makes me viscerally nope out of anything. She was not as likeable as people lead others to believe.

I've been Pavloved into disliking Tennant due to the oversaturation of his interpretation of the Doctor in the series and the fandom as a whole, despite the fact he's just meh. The Doctor is not his best role and in general he doesn't do it for me in the looks department, especially as the Doctor. Which, it's fine if you like watching him (I'm sure Georgia loves watching him and she is a very good sport about a lot of shit) and I know my DW experience has been enhanced by watching the pretty but I am a demographic outlier lol.

What I did see of s1-4 before I got into s5 was Rose being an idiot, getting a deeply unsettling feeling over Jack Harkness, being pissed off for Martha and Mickey and livid about Donna, being irritated by the Master and the angsty space Jesus shite, and thinking Ten and Donna would make a good couple actually.

Oh yeah, and very specifically I'm mad because I watched The End of Time Part 2, like, almost soon as I could, and knew immediately that Martha/Mickey was Pair the Spares Race Edition even though at that point I hadn't watched all of s1-4 and for all I knew they hit it off in an unseen-by-me episode for a reason that wasn't getting drunk over their mid-tier white exes hooking up. Like, I clocked that shit back in 2009. There was a lot of shit I was not clocking in 2009, but I caught onto that, which should be an embarrassment.

...and, like, I'm on the internet, so I've seen spoilers. It's difficult to not see spoilers. Some of the spoilers I love to see hello Fifteen's THIGHS we love us a good slutty Doctor and I do have one UK-based friend specifically whom I've talked to at length about the specials. My fiancé also has been watching this entire time w/o stopping since 2005 (bc he caught it all as it premiered here in the US and at least he got to watch s1 Billie Piper; I fault him for nothing), so he's been giving me updates on what's going on as well. He is a good man who has done saintly things like drive me across three state lines to meet Peter Capaldi at a Doctor Who convention, so... he's generally trustworthy, but also a lot more forgiving than I am. But he was also the one who broke to me the news about Rose Noble because he knew I'd get upset that she's not Donna Jr. So I've got some good fonts of information. They tell me that I'd like the second and third more than the first, that we've just got some extra Ten-Donna adventures, and that generally everything's stepped up a bit from Thirteen.

...but to me, a step up from Thirteen is still not a step towards where we need to go.

You can't go from Eleven and Twelve, an ancient eldritch god trapped in a body with the grace of a baby giraffe and a legit punk who punches diamond walls for his wife and racists for his daughter, respectively, to a Tory apologist who never really got a scary "I am the Doctor and you're stuck here with me now what a shame :)" moment like Nine through Twelve got and think that "a step up" from that is going to catch me. I'm not enticed by the prospect of another Ten-Donna adventure done by the man whose writing and showrunning kept me away from Doctor Who for so long. I. could. not. care. less. There is literally no nostalgia filter making this okay to me. I cannot see what other people see.

I don't want to be an anti, I don't want to be a NMD, but they keep pushing my fucking hand and now I'm sitting here having not watched new episodes of what is literally one of my favorite shows since before the pandemic, watching from an arm's length as it sort of caves in around itself, going and absolutely pissing away their chances at having a really cool, massive-multi-Doctor bonanza like no other. You could have twelve Doctors. TWELVE DOCTORS. Eleven if our most venerable just kinda taps out like nah I'm done unless you give me Bill's job from the Three Doctors special. Like, the fuck, y'all. That got whizzed right down the fucking leg. Did they even try? Did they get rebuffed? Whose decision was the 60th specials? Do they even like Doctor Who? Or are they part of the set that thought that Tennant's Doctor would never be topped?

So... yeah... that's the gist of it. I'm sure it's gonna take being sat down for a marathon by Mr. Nehs before I get into Doctor Who again, which is honestly sad. The BBC has hated this show and been visibly trying to run it into the ground since they decided to make the divisive decision of casting Matt Smith (which worked out great in the long run but having been on the internet at the time as that announcement I can assure you it was not received well) and now they've got Mouse Bucks and some straight-up boring as sin seasons/series under their belts and idk what in the hell's coming for us now.

2. What fanfic do you wish you got more response on?

Hmm, is it bad if I say the one I'm working on right now?

I can't be too upset. I have received some lovely comments already (including a couple over on FFN today!) and I know the Powerpuff Girls fandom doesn't have a lot of traffic these days, but I guess since the story has been in my head for so long and it's the thing I feel the most passionate about at the moment, I really want someone to share that excitement with.

With most of my Transformers fics specifically though, the response has been above and beyond my wildest dreams. I still can't believe so many people liked "Cut My Noose, and I'll Cut Yours" (and I do hope to go back to it someday!) or that the lovely @gilraina did a podfic for the SkyStar oneshot I posted on Valentine's Day. I never thought anything I wrote would inspire someone else like that.

3. What’s a fic idea that you have but haven’t written yet?

Okay, so I actually do have one in my head that I haven't gotten to yet bc I'm in the middle of writing two others. I can't go into much detail because when I get to it I might publish it anonymously. But basically, it's a Breaking Bad "fix it fic" where no one dies, done in the worst, most chaotic way possible.

14. Have you ever co-written a fic?

No, but I'd love to! It's something I've been wanting to do for a while. Writing can be a pretty lonely hobby sometimes, and it would be great to have someone to share a project with.

15. Are there words, phrases, mannerisms or scenes you tend to use a lot?

I have a bad habit of using filler words and overusing dialogue tags. Also, I'm a very uncertain person in general so there's a good chance you'll see a lot of "probably's" "a bit's" and "slightly's" in my stories no matter how much I try to edit them out.

Neighborhood Brats is a female fronted punk band. Actually, Dirt Cult Records has a number of pretty cool artists - I can't speak to all their gender/sexualities but their music is good. Dan Padilla (the band not the man lmao), Needles//Pins, Dead Years, Postage and, Feral Trash. I can't remember if Dear Landlord and Shallow Cuts are with Dirt Cult (i dont THINK so) but I do know they overlap with Dan Padilla.

Fangbanger is a really cool pop-ish punk band, and I haven't been into real pop punk in a long time but I really like them. Troll 2 is kind of folk punk, and by the tone of this ask I think you'd like them. i have a few Propoghandi songs i like (thrash punk), if you like ska you like Streetlight Manifesto. The Muslims and Fea my roommate got me into and both are really cool punk bands - the muslims is a queer poc crunchy punk band and fea is a san antonio based latina all female band. Ramshackle Glory is an anarchist punk band. GOGOL BORDELLO HOW COULD I FORGET YOU romani punk band from lower east side manhattan. i had a Sainte Catherine's cd on repeat for like 4 months straight when i was a teenager and honestly i was so valid for that.

Leaving punk, I know I just commented on a post about basic music but i really do like Florence + The Machine. Rip. Feels and hurts are pretty much the same here, the ending is stunning in its cruelty, but i also adore the editing, the way they arranged the pieces. First Bill gets shot, then we are interrapted with a full flashback where the Doctor is trying to get her to go on asventure with Missy and right as Bill says "promise you won't get me killed" we click back to the whole in her chest, not a second has passed, like it was life flashing before her eyes. It hits hard. A better sequence doesn't exist change my mind.

Paint Tool SAI - Pros: lightweight/fast/responsive, one-time purchase, easy to navigate. Cons: not as many bells and whistles or editing capabilities as other programs, there is a monetary cost associated with it (it is allegedly easily piratable, but I would recommend paying the ~$45 USD to purchase it bc I think it's worth supporting the creator). Probably still my favorite program to use, Paint Tool SAI just runs really well. It's quite beginner friendly, but doesn't have all of the editing capabilities of other programs. That said, it's specifically for digital painting and drawing, and it does a phenomenal job when used for those purposes. 9/10.

Krita - Pros: free, has almost all of the same things you would find in commercial products including basic animation capabilities (I believe they're working on expanding and improving these as well). Cons: runs a bit slow at times, layers & layer modes are kinda complicated to figure out. I got Krita not too terribly long ago, and after exploring it a bit, I think it's perfectly viable up alongside commercial programs. It can lag a little at times, and it has a bit of a learning curve, even for those familiar with digital painting/drawing programs, particularly in how to set up layers and layer modes (I have a document set up to remind of certain steps in Krita, like how to make clipping masks). Other than that though, I'm excited to see the improvements it gets going forward. 8/10.

Clip Studio Paint - Pros: an all around solid program with lots of unique tools and access to a user community where you can acquire additional assets, highly customizable. Cons: paid license subscriptions 🤮, can run slow and lag at times, limited brush options at the start. I tested out CSP fully for the first time yesterday and I was pretty impressed by its capabilities. I especially enjoyed the ability to pull up a bunch of reference images in a sub view window, and a seemingly infinite color history which was super helpful in painting. I wish there had been more brush preset from the get-go so didn't have to teach myself how to get/make more, but the ones that are there are decent enough, and I'll probably use CSP some more before my free 2-year license of it expires. That said, I am disgusted by the paid subscription cost, and if you're a low-income artist, Krita can do a majority of what CSP can, for no cost. 7.5/10.

Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator - Pros: I mean, they can do what you want them to do I guess. Cons: paid license subscriptions 🤮 (by Adobe 🤮🤮). Joking and hatred of big corporations aside, I think both Photoshop and Illustrator would be better if they had more tools for painting/drawing, but you'll still be able to accomplish everything you hope to with them. They're two really well-known programs; Photoshop especially is frequently used for digital painting/drawing, but it's not really built for that. It's got a lot more photo editing capabilities (as it's name implies) than tools for digital painting/drawing/ illustration, though it can do those things just fine. Adobe Fresco is the program that's supposed to be more painterly, but I haven't tried that one out. Not going to give Adobe my money if I can avoid it though. There are cheaper, even free programs, that can do everything Adobe products can do and then some. 7/10.

GIMP - Pros: free + open source, very good editing & selection tools, customizable, you get a lot for $0. Cons: can run pretty slow/lag, actual drawing/painting tools aren't that great, even with pressure sensitive tablets, bit of a learning curve but if you've used other similar programs before GIMP is pretty easy to explore and figure out. I used to use GIMP for making thumbnails for my YouTube videos, and I still really enjoy it's image editing capabilities, but I wouldn't say it's very good for digital drawing and painting. 6/10 since it's free and does some stuff better than commercial programs.

Medibang Paint (Mobile) - Pros: it's nice to have a painting/drawing app I can access on the go, free, has all the basics. Cons: probably better on a device larger than a smartphone lol, mobile UI is a little annoying as well. I haven't tried the freemium version of Medibang, or any other version not on my smartphone. I don't hate it, but I wish the mobile version had a slightly different layout. I'd say the painting/drawing capabilities of Medibang mobile are at least on par with GIMP's, maybe a little better. It's tough to use the editing tools on mobile as well. 6/10.

Hi, is there an essential collection(s) for greek history/mythology you might recommend that is deeper than surface level understanding of well known myths? When I was kid we has Edith Hamilton’s Mythology but it wasn’t particularly long or complex.

It's honestly been a while since I've read a myth collection, the only ones in recent memory that come to mind are the ones by Stephen Fry, however I have only read Troy, but I really enjoyed it and I thought it gave some good insight. He gives a lot of background to the foundation of Troy and it's royal family and well as the family history of the important Greek figures. It had info in there that I didn't know (like where Priam got his name) that I didn't know which was exciting bc it's usually rare. He also does some occasional commentary, for example Achilles can be a divisive character some ppl love him and some think he is a spoiled bully, Fry picks the middle road and comments on what makes Achilles so enduring. Also Stephen Fry is funny while still being thorough and visibly loving the material.

I've been meaning to read his Mythos and Heros, the main thing stopping me usually being cost as these are hardcover books printed in color.

Also worth a read if you haven't would be Ovid's Metamorphoses, tons of myths and a good variety too everything from the Gods, heros, and Trojan war. (And most importantly things turning into other things, Ovid is holding a gun to your head to make sure you get the theme 😂) I listened to a public domain translation so it didn't offer commentary but I'm sure there are editions with lots of background and footnotes.

I actually own a copy of Edith Hamilton's Mythology that I've had for YEARS and still need to read it, I just remember finding it kind of boring 😂
