I want to submit Felix from Cassette Beasts! It's a monster-collecting indie game where people, ideas, concepts, characters, and stories from different time periods and realities can end up/physically manifest.

Felix is my favorite companion. He's a zote artist and comes from a world where comic books don't exist. He quit his job and went freelance, because he got fed up working under shitty bosses who never recognized him. Which... really hits home when you're also a fellow creative.

His questline is my favorite. You and Felix encounter his ninja-half angel-half demon-purple-cat girl OC, Kuneko, that he made when he was 12... except Kuneko has become her own character and is desperate to prove herself so that Felix won't find her embarrassing anymore.

Beyond the hilarity and relatability, it's really interesting how his questline involves creator-meets-creation; dealing with the overall lore of how concepts can come to be. Seeing Felix come to accept and love his past works, recognizing they're all a part of who he is today. It was just... touching.

He's a sweetheart dork (who makes you his MUSE) and I still haven't "finished" the game, because I don't want to part with him just yet.

Okay first I'm cackling at the drawing bc I thought you dropped the wrong pic for a second 🤣 why is Kuneko so accurate?? 🤣🤣 This wasn't my first reaction but it's at the top bc it sent me. Okay. Aww wait, you said she's trying to gain his pride 😭 oh now I feel bad for laughing. I'm sure she's a sweetheart.

Felix actually reminds me of Hot Chocolate! Like, if I had to draw his face in this style, it would look like this, but with longer locs and a mustache.

Yep, he absolutely was. He was worried somehting might happen toi the first actual live person he's met in like...literally ever, so he was following from a bit of a ways away.

Yep! He doesn't LIKE to, cause he still really doesn't consider them friends. L33 just might know where the Hamatos are, so Casey is keen on being nice to him. And sometimes his little legs get tired and he needs to be carried :)

He likes music! He's actually been there for a fairly long time, maybe a little over a month? It was both safe from raoming krang dogs and he got to enjoy something "human". He's kinda just been sitting around listening to different records to see what kind of music he likes. So far his favorites are Queen, Mr. Blue Sky and a select few electronic type songs that he thinks he doesn't really like so much as they're just comforting for some reason.

That's a bit of a spoiler ;) But I will say he powered down due to the electric shock! His systems were given a bit of a power override so he'll need to cool down for a while. He will probably turn on soon though ;)

L33 isn't sure how he's powered. He knows he has some sort of power source, but he himself isn't really sure of what it is. Just that there's a deep hum of some sort of current inside him. He does need to rest from time to time, though. He can sometimes feel that power source weaken and knows that means he needs to shut off for a bit and rest - which, a s aside note, L33 can willingly shut himself down or go into sleep mode. He has some sort of internal timer set up that he can't control that will eventually wake him - sort of like an internal clock in a human! I can't say much else cause spoilers but yeah :)

That deoends on if his ninpo/soul is actuallly tied to it, which, no one ever really found out :) L33 himself doesn't really know what will happen if he "breaks" either, and it kind of scares him. Spoilers as well ;)

I'm glad you enjoy L330-N so much! I really really love robots and love drawing him, I jus thaven't had the time to work on a more complex comic (drawing wise I mean) in a while so it's been hard to focus on him ;-;

there is not enough femslash in batcest circles. the girls deserve to be just as weird about each other as the boys are. if BruDick gets to be weird father/son/brothers/lovers/friends/rivals/soulmates then it is only fair that Babs/Cass get to be mother/daughter/sisters/lovers too. Something about that deep intrinsic but undefinable love that is born out of trauma, especially if you consider Cass not knowing what healthy love looks like in the first place. i think it's fun and deserves just as much fandom content.

besides that, you can get even more niche with rarepairs like Helena/Steph. Huntress/Spoiler: Blunt Trauma is already a fantastic comic and even though it's their only real canon interaction it has so much potential. very comparable to TimJay in how Helena tries to get Steph to understand her morals and the corruption you could play with it.

that comic also highlights on how both Steph and Helena are outcasts of the Batfamily and don't have the approval of Bruce to be doing what they do in "his city". I think there's so much Potential in Helena taking Steph under her wing because Bruce won't let her in and it becomes a weird codependent toxic sapphic mess. I think the protectiveness Helena feels over Steph from the get-go is so clear and the way she wants to look out for Steph, wants to make sure Steph understands the real world? I love them. Helena should be allowed to steal Steph, actually. I think it'd be fun.

there are a lot of other possibilities too like Babs/Steph or even getting weird with Helena Bertinelli/Helena Wayne and the existential question of "is it selfcest or not." But these two specifically live in my head rent-free, especially Helena/Steph and one day I'll convince everyone else to ship it too.

Another year, another Ink Demonth event. Let's see if I can get past the first 10 days again (I kind of doubt it, but let's not get ahead of ourselves).

Starting with a very interesting topic! As far as in-universe things go, I think the simplest interpretation would be: a look back at simpler times. Before the ink craze, the damn machine and all that. The times when (I presume) the only concern was getting the shorts finished on time. Nostalgia for a bygone era. It was more the metaphorical side that I was aiming for when I was making this drawing.

I don't really like to use this term when I reminisce about things that, in my opinion, are very "recent", but since it's been 7 years (more than half a decade, jeez), I think using "nostalgia" in this case is allowed in my view.

It's not surprising to say that I'm nostalgic for the times of 2017-2018. (In terms of Bendy, of course, not in terms of life in general, lmao) It's been so long... On one hand, similar to the in-universe reason, it was simpler times, I admit. Things weren't so…crazy, so to speak. And on the other hand, it's because of the good memories of that time (again, in terms of this franchise). The wait between chapters, the teasers, the theories, and the in-betweens. And what I wanted to show here, one of my top favorite moments that I remember the most, was the release of the reveal trailer for BATIM Chapter 3.

I was excited that day! I had just gotten home when the trailer dropped and I immediately went to watch it. An actual in-universe Bendy cartoon! Bendy and Boris animated! Mysterious Shadow!?!? and then BOOM, game stuff. Henry running in a hallway, silhouettes of new characters, Bendy statue, Miracle Station? and BOO, the Ink Demon jumping in the station! Alice humming, and OOOHHHHH RELEASING IN SEPTEMBER, LETS GOOO.

It was really cool. I would not only say this is one of my favorite moments, but also that that trailer is my favorite trailer we've had. Yeah, in the end the "gameplay" in the second half of the video was just a cutscene running, and the "scene" that happened in the trailer doesn't actually happen in the game. Hell, the "hallway trailer" wasn't even in the release! But, the cutscene is still pretty cool anyway, plus, even though the scene doesn't literally happen in the game, it still teased elements that were in the game without giving away spoilers, so the trailer wasn't a total lie at the end of the day.

But yeah, nostalgia. A hell of a drug, but at the same time, a nice time machine,I say.

On an unrelated note, hey, prompt for day 1, and I'm not that late! Sure, I'm posting this after midnight, so it's not day 1 anymore, but still, compared to other years, I'm very up to date with the event. After all, 1-2 hours late isn't that late compared to 1 week. But of course, prompt 2 is going to be another story entirely, but in the meantime? I'll enjoy this achievement.

Every week someone makes a post about how annoying it is that Dick Grayson fans don't acknowledge his flaws, and every week someone replies with an explanation that the flaws OP listed are entirely fanon and inconsistent with canon as it actually happened and at this point I have to assume that none of those explanations are ever going to stick because clearly some people just want the fanon to be true.

Anyway, I'm just putting this here for me to edit and add relevant-to-the-topic links later so I'll have them nicely at hand to read and sooth my frustrations when it gets real bad out there. (Echo chambers are good when we use them to drown out character mischaracterizing fanon.)

Listen... I really enjoy Wally's friendship with the original Titans, but I can't be the only one who thinks he's really OOC in almost every Titans related title, right?

#every once in a while I see someone who doesn't like Wally because their only contact with him is NTT or even just 90s/00s Titans and...#yeah???? completely valid #he's either really unlikable or has bursts of ''what the fuck is he doing?!''#and as a Roy fan it HURTS how fucking cruel he's to him #and I'm not saying Wally can't be an asshole (heavens knows he often is) but it just. chatted with bruce on zoom today!! apparently in addition to announcing the buddy cole doc at his rivoli show he also promoted it in a sirius xm interview he did about the new sketch show he's executive producing (the dessert)!! which is so freaking cool like he's using his platform for a bigger show he's working on to promote a doc i'm directing??? omg???

The urge to create smth more elaborate/decorative from the original base design vs both the desire to keep it simple enough to draw repeatedly and the need to have it read clearly, all while keeping it distinct and recognizable 🙃

I want to be more productive #that and I've got a massive backlog of videos to tackle still #that are admittedly more for listening to than properly watching; and are usually perfect for smth to listen to while drawing #good news is that the most expensive the exact model of adapter I have on this computer is only around $30!#bad news is that I Do Not Have anywhere close to $30!! not to mention I'd have to pay the guy™ to install it for me #and idk what he'd ask for in the vein of a service fee... also I still want that different antenna that I can move instead of just #screwing into the back and hoping for the best; it still screws in mind you but the ports are attached to cords #that are attached to a base that holds the antennae; so that I might move it around a little #that's around $20; at least for the model I looked at. tho I'd also have to check to make sure the parts are compatible #luckily I could probably just ask the guy; and if I have enough on hand I could probably buy one from him since he sells stuff like that to #oh yeah. also on the shortlist is external storage. I need at least as much as my computer can actually hold for backup purposes: 2TB #and I want more later so that I can actually maybe have less shit on my computer and more in appropriate places lol #someday I want a newer better computer actually. tho ideally we'd have abandoned this rotted log of a house by then...#I have other plans and needs but these tags are getting too long as it is lol

love trying to make timelines for things that have a clear passage of time but not necessarily a clear timeline. like events happen in the order they are presented but how much time is between each event? fuck if i know

#in other words i'm half delirious from being tired and trying in vain to figure out how much time passes in tmnt 2003 #my gut is saying s1-s4 is like 4ish years minimum #it just kinda feels right #funnily this is related to that usagi screenshot i posted earlier cuz like a day later i was trying to figure out how old he was #cuz he's like early 20s in the comics but his appearance in 2003 has him like #look visibly baby in that one flashback fight scene between splinter and drako #and if that's 3 years before the turtles go and they're all like #teenage aged #then usagi's probably around that #but he's gotta be like at least 2 years older than the turtles #my justification? feels right #but then that muddies up the comic canon a bit cuz at age like. 17/18ish #i'm pretty sure he's still one of mifune's retainers or something #but comic usagi and show usagi are 2 different bitches and it's all #[vague hand gestures]#..i'm gonna go to bed before my headache gets worse #mlabs myaps
