Spiderverse OC/Earth-42 OC - Parvati Mandali (Phin Mason/Tinkerer Variant)

Don't mind me, I'm just making Desi versions of cool characters again and inserting them into my hcs :P

So previously, I talked about how cool it would be to have a Phin Mason variant on Earth-42 where Miles G. Morales is from, so I decided to make one!

Her name is Parvati Mandali, the same initials as Phin Mason, and she was born in New Jersey. She moved to Brooklyn beginning of freshman year and was enrolled in Brooklyn Visions Academy, the same time as Miles G. Morales was.

They're both very academically gifted, and because of this have similar classes, AP calc, AP computer science, AP physics, etc...

But, they hated each other.

They were academic rivals who were just constantly competing with each other, who got the better grades, created the better projects, just high school stuff.

Note: THIS IS NOT AN ENEMIES TO LOVER AU, THEY GENUINELY HATE EACH OTHER AND ARE CRAZY COMPETITIVE

But under the mask, they actually work together.

Parvati's older brother, Ravi, worked for Oscorp, and helped develop the process for the VENOM symbiote to properly link with other people. However, Osborne cut funding to that department, forcing them to work with fewer and fewer materials and on shorter and shorter deadlines. Eventually, mistakes were made and the VENOM symbiote was released, and ended up killing Ravi.

After Parvati found out, she went into a depressive episode, and was so filled with rage that she used her robotic genius to build gear specifically designed to be able to fight VENOM, and made it her life's goal to defeat the symbiote and destroy Oscorp.

Miles G., as the Prowler, also had a deep hatred of Osborne because of his involvement in the Sinister Six cartel. On Earth-42, people know who the Green Goblin is, but no one's actually able to stop him because of Osborne's wide sphere of influence and just fear in general. The Sinister Six was involved in his dad's death, and because of that Miles G. decided to work with Parvati, The Tinkerer, to take down Oscorp once and for all.

But they don't reveal their identities to each other, because they find it easier to confide in each other when they don't know who the other is.

Neither of them have to worry about who the other might know, who they might tell, because they don't know who they are. All they know is that they both want revenge, and they're willing to give up their lives for it.

They have a STRICTLY PLATONIC relationship btw.

when i saw whiscash i swapped into scizor because i thought it was safe and i wanted to preserve weavile's strength, speed, and fake out for later... and i did my calcs wrong. i've been hunched over calculators and spreadsheets for hours to have the best odds of winning this streak and somehow i was calculating doubles damage instead of singles so EQ was stronger than i expected. embarrassingly i didn't notice this until someone pointed it out to me after the fact LOL. i don't even know how i didn't catch it, of course EQ does more damage, it's STAB!! so that was actually a pretty damn dangerous switch! but he missed stone edge i am BLESSED stone edge more like stone MISS AHAHAHAFSDKFSDAL

anyway after whiscash was down i let entei take out my scizor because scizor is slow and was already on low HP, if i tried to preserve it it would probably just get outsped and die to a legendary or something later. and entei had two dangerous sets in particular it could possibly be so i really needed to scout its fire move. tbh when i saw entei my heart sank, i knew my team was really weak to fire and that it could be a problem but i just never found any good pokemon to swap while climbing round 7. i just hoped that garchomp resisting and having earthquake would suffice... but the entei had a shuca berry (halves a super effective ground hit) so outrage actually did more damage. if entei crit me at any point it would have been over but otherwise it would have been impossible to take out garchomp in two hits thankfully. and i had a persim berry if outrage ended in two turns and confused me. but didn't end up mattering!

my heart SANK when the focus band proc'd on latios (a 10% chance) but then i was like YES!! THIS IS WHAT WEAVILE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR!! THERE'S NO WAY IT PROCS TWO MORE TIMES IN A ROW RIGHT?! because weavile using fake out would give me a chance, and then if focus band proc'd again, the flinch from fake out would let me get a second turn and weavile outspeeds that latios SO it was pretty safe unless i got insanely unlucky. AND IT WORKED OUT!!!!

i dunno if i deserved this win because my round 6 (the round before this one) was INCREDIBLY lucky, like, i got the round 7 staraptor in my draft and it had choice band brave bird and just decimated EVERYTHING except a couple bronzongs which i had a strong vaporeon for, so... it was basically a freebie and then round 7 had some close calls but also i got garchomp from trading with the literal first trainer (who i almost lost to but shhh) and then all the stuff with scizor/whiscash... BUT. it's been long enough i'm TAKING IT

oh i just saw, congrats on the bachelors!! im still in calc 3, i thought itd be less mundane but it is actually killing now to the point where i cant even open our stewart text. all my friends in decent math programs are doing more fun and general versions this course. i just cant wait to not use this awful book anymore (all our work is based on the books problems and methodology). all this is to say your progress is inspiring. hopefully i get to a point where i can also be having fun around structures and such, i just have to finish grinding through the filter of "do a bunch of this and don't worry about what it really means, btw good luck problem solving on your exams with 0 neither provided intuition nor rigor". i hope blogs like this stick around!

I'm so sorry to hear that this is how they teach you math, something like this takes away all pleasure and satisfaction. I didn't have calc 3 as such at my university, we would generally focus on theory and understanding from the start. however, we did have some courses where the mindset was like you just described and it was torture. I hope it changes for you soon so that you can finally enjoy some beautiful math!

This is so cool! It must be really exciting to get a new story to play based on this. I've not yet played Pleasantview (ikr) so I'm not sure how much I'd change things up for my first time, maybe I'd use my calc just for premade secondaries, or maybe just wait until they age up once before recalculating like I did with Veronaville. I really hate the personality + zodiac mismatch of the premades and how a 'random' zodiac sign can ruin chemistry so thats why I made my No Zodiac Chemistry Mod.

Btw, I'm not sure when you made a copy of my calculator, but if it was after I made the change to my interest scale which I have not updated in the description then I do apologize, I'm working on moving the description to my new WIP website.

Pleasantview Reimagined: Don Lothario

Have you ever wondered how different the premade sims and storylines would be if the developers actually stayed true to their interests and personality? No? Just me?

I stumbled across @belladovah's aspiration calculator which calculates the aspiration based off of their personality AND interests - this takes the "whole sim" into account, and it makes sense to me that this is how you would develop their "truest" storyline and lifetime want. I started plugging in some data from the Pleasantview premades and WOW - what a different story that paints!!!

I also found that there's not a single PV sim besides Herb Oldie that has the correct zodiac sign (determined by personality points) and this is huge when it comes to compatibility in the sims! The developers start becoming more accurate with subsequent EP's, but man - they really said "let's just make this sim's zodiac sign wrong even though our coding says a sim with this personality should be a totally different sign".

That gave me an idea to start a brand new Pleasantview with their updated - or what I'm considering as their genuine - aspirations, zodiacs, hobbies, and lifetime wants. I'm finding some sims are pretty on par with their storylines, while others change the dynamic completely. I'm so excited to play PV in a different way than I've ever played before - and I've been playing TS2 for close to 20 years 😅

Anyways, if you made it this far, this is an example of what I'm talking about. Using Belladovah's aspiration calculator, Don is a Popularity Sim with a secondary aspiration of Fortune. His true zodiac is Gemini vs Leo. His "One True Hobby" could be either Fitness or Sports but he has a higher interest in Sports. Because he has such a high interest in Sports, it made sense to me to have him in the Athletic career with a Lifetime Want of "Become Hall of Famer". This is on par with his interests and Fortune/Popularity aspiration.

In conclusion, Don may not be a manh0e. He just wants to be popular - with the ladies 😂 And perhaps the disappearance of Bella *was* an elaborate scheme to gain access to the Goth fortune...

They don't necessarily need to use a portal to through worlds cos they have that little handle/switch thing near the shop's door/house door so they'd just turn it and then- boom! They open the door to the world they need to be in! Calcifer usually stays in the castle but let's just say when they're summoned he's on they're shoulder and probably shit talks everyone- even barbatos. They'll also kinda dress like howl does in the movie! Yk, half-buttoned up shirt, black pants, a coat hanging on they're shoulders, the matching earrings and necklaces! But a few minor changes like instead of the coat being pink and the exact same design it's the reader's favourite colours and design. They probably teasingly called Lucifer sweetheart when they said they won't join the exchange program so they had to be convinced with something like forbidden spell books that Solomon or satan wouldn't be able to get a hold of! I also headcanon they are more powerful then Solomon and the only reason they're name isn't all over the place like his is, is cos 1) they don't need pacts to have power nor do they want it 2) they don't use it a lot, only to do house chores, sell positions and have a bit of fun and 3) they travel a lot so even while they're in the exchange program they travel to multiple worlds to get some things done and to just have some of they're own time for themselves (and calcifer)

Asmo found it kind of hot when MC called Lucifer "sweetheart" without hesitation.

Belphie also makes up pranks that are too extreme that MC starts thinking if he even likes Lucifer a little bit.

With Calcifer, Belphie likes him because Calcifer is not even afraid to trash talk.

Sometimes, Belphie joins in on the trash talking for Diavolo and Lucifer.

22. I'm... reasonably organized? I write in LibreOffice, and my files are organized by fandom (when relevant) and I have a different file for every chapter. I keep a list along with a wordcount (and a daily wordcount as well) in Calc (aka Excel) file. All the files are synced to the cloud for safety purposes and I back them up regularly.

25. I answered this one for Encanto things, but I'll give you some Hamilton. In my Sense8 fic that no one has read 😅 Alex has spent way too long putting various queer and activism stickers on his wheelchair (which is neon green btw) and he's annoyed that one of them is wonky because John tried to kiss him when he stuck it on.
