"Tapestry of Spirit and Flame" Version 5.2 Update Details

Dear Traveler,

Below are the details of the Version 5.2 update "Tapestry of Spirit and Flame" and the update compensation.

〓Compensation Details〓

Maintenance Compensation: Primogems ×300 (60 Primogems per hour the servers are down)

〓Scope of Compensation〓

Maintenance Compensation: Travelers who have reached Adventure Rank 5 or above by 2024/11/20 06:00 (UTC+8).

Compensation must be claimed before the end of Version 5.2.

Issue Fix Compensation: Travelers who have reached Adventure Rank 5 or above by 2024/11/20 06:00 (UTC+8).

Please log in and claim your compensation before 2024/11/23 06:00 (UTC+8).

Our developers will distribute compensation to Travelers via in-game mail within 5 hours after the update maintenance is finished. The mail will expire after 30 days, so don't forget to claim the attached compensation in time.

PC: Close the game, open the Genshin Impact Launcher, and click Update.

I. New Areas

New Areas Now Available

◇ New Areas: In Version 5.2, the following areas in Natlan will become available: Tezcatepetonco Range, Quahuacan Cliff, and Ochkanatlan.

※ As long as you have completed Archon Quest Prologue: Act III "Song of the Dragon and Freedom," a Teleport Waypoint will be automatically unlocked near Tezcatepetonco Range in the northwest of Natlan's Stadium of the Sacred Flame. (If you have already completed this Archon Quest, the Teleport Waypoint will be unlocked after the update). You'll also receive the Primogem reward for this Teleport Waypoint when it unlocks automatically.

◇ Natlan Reputation System Update: With the opening of new areas, the Natlan Reputation System now includes Tribe Reputation for the Flower-Feather Clan and Masters of the Night-Wind.

◆ Unlock Criteria:

• Complete "Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame" in Archon Quest Chapter V: Act I "Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn"

Adds the Natlan Fishing Association, where Travelers can exchange for new items here.

In addition, there will be new Fishing Points and "Radiant Spincrystals" in Natlan.

II. New Characters

5-Star Character "Skyborne Arbiter" Chasca (Anemo)

◇ Vision: Anemo

◇ Weapon: Bow

◇ The Peacemaker of the Tlalocan, the ender of all disputes.

◆ Elemental Skill: Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt

◇ After casting her Elemental Skill "Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt," Chasca immediately deals Nightsoul-aligned AoE Anemo DMG to nearby opponents, and enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state. Chasca then mounts "Soulsniper: Ritual Staff" and remains airborne, increasing her Movement SPD and resistance to interruption. In this state, tap the Normal Attack button to deal Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG to opponents. Hold the Normal Attack button to carry out "Multitarget Fire" and load up to 6 Shadowhunt Shells based on the duration for which the skill was charged, dealing DMG to selected opponents. Some Shadowhunt Shells will undergo Elemental Conversion based on the Elemental Types of the other characters in the party, dealing Nightsoul-aligned DMG corresponding to the Elemental Types.

◆ Elemental Burst: Soul Reaper's Fatal Round

◇ Chasca's Elemental Burst fires a "Galesplitting Soulseeker Shell" that deals Nightsoul-aligned AoE Anemo DMG to opponents. Afterward, the Galesplitting Soulseeker Shell will split into 6 Soulseeker Shells, which attack nearby opponents. Soulseeker Shells will undergo Elemental Conversion based on the Elemental Types of the other characters in the party, dealing Nightsoul-aligned DMG corresponding to the Elemental Types.

4-Star Character "Shadow of the Night-Wind" Ororon (Electro)

◇ Vision: Electro

◇ Weapon: Bow

◇ A young man from the Masters of the Night-Wind who instead lives in the wild alongside all manner of life.

◆ Elemental Skill: Night's Sling

◇ Throws a "Spirit Orb" that can bounce between enemies, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG.

◆ Elemental Burst: Dark Voices Echo

◇ Summons a "Supersonic Oculus" to continuously taunt nearby enemies and deal Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG.

◆ Passive Talent: Nightshade Synesthesia

◇ After a nearby party member triggers Nightsoul Burst, Ororon will gain a set amount of Nightsoul points. Within 15s after using his Elemental Skill, when other nearby party members' Hydro or Electro attacks hit opponents, Ororon will also gain a set amount of Nightsoul points.

Also, when nearby opponents take Electro-Charged reaction DMG or Nightsoul-aligned DMG dealt by other nearby characters, Ororon will consume a set amount of Nightsoul points and enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state. He will then deal Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG to a set number of opponents.

III. New Equipment

New Weapon (Examples based on Refinement Rank 1)

Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage (5-Star Bow)

For 12s after triggering a Swirl reaction, ATK increases by 24%. In addition, when 1/2 or more characters in the party are of a different Elemental Type from the equipping character, the DMG dealt by the equipping character's Charged Attacks is increased by 20%/48% and Elemental Burst DMG dealt is increased by 10%/24%.

◆ During the event wish "Epitome Invocation," the event-exclusive 5-star weapon Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage (Bow) will receive a huge drop-rate boost!

Waveriding Whirl (4-Star Catalyst)

Decreases Swimming Stamina consumption by 15%. In addition, for 10s after using an Elemental Skill, Max HP is increased by 20%. For every Hydro Elemental Type character in the party, Max HP is increased by another 12%, and the maximum increase that can be achieved in this way is 24%. Can be triggered once every 15s.

◆ During the event wish "Epitome Invocation," the event-exclusive 4-star weapon Waveriding Whirl (Catalyst) will receive a huge drop-rate boost!

Flower-Wreathed Feathers (4-Star Bow)

Decreases Gliding Stamina consumption by 15%. When using Aimed Shots, the DMG dealt by Charged Attacks increases by 6% every 0.5s. This effect can stack up to 6 times and will be removed 10s after leaving Aiming Mode.

◆ During the event wish "Epitome Invocation," the event-exclusive 4-star weapon Flower-Wreathed Feathers (Bow) will receive a huge drop-rate boost!

Calamity of Eshu (4-Star Sword)

While characters are protected by a Shield, DMG dealt by Normal and Charged Attacks is increased by 20%, and Normal and Charged Attack CRIT Rate is increased by 8%.

◆ Calamity of Eshu (Sword) and its refinement materials can be redeemed in the "Iktomi Spiritseeking Scrolls" event.

IV. New Main Story

1. New Archon Quest

Archon Quest Chapter V: Interlude "All Fires Fuel the Flame"

Permanently available after the Version 5.2 update

◆ Quest Unlock Criteria:

• Reach Adventure Rank 28 or above

• Complete Archon Quest Chapter V: Act IV "The Rainbow Destined to Burn"

• The "Focused Experience Mode" function is available for this quest.

2. New Tribal Chronicles

"Of Fading Flowers and Falling Feathers"

Act I – Act III of "Of Fading Flowers and Falling Feathers" will be permanently available after the Version 5.2 update

◆ Act I and Act II Quest Unlock Criteria:

• Reach Adventure Rank 28 or above

• Complete "Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame" in Archon Quest Chapter V: Act I "Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn"

◆ Act III Quest Unlock Criteria:

• Reach Adventure Rank 28 or above

• Complete Archon Quest Chapter V: Act IV "The Rainbow Destined to Burn"

The three acts must be experienced in sequence. You can only unlock the next act after completing the previous one and meeting the corresponding unlock criteria.

"Memories Flowing With Color"

Act I and Act II of "Memories Flowing With Color" will be permanently available after the Version 5.2 update

◆ Act I and Act II Quest Unlock Criteria:

• Reach Adventure Rank 28 or above

• Complete "Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame" in Archon Quest Chapter V: Act I "Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn"

The two acts must be experienced in sequence. You can only unlock the next act after completing the previous one and meeting the corresponding unlock criteria.

You can use the "Quick Start" function to accept and progress through Archon Quest Chapter V: Act I "Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn" while maintaining your current progress in the existing Archon Quests. After using the "Quick Start" function to complete Archon Quest Chapter V: Act I, you can continue to accept and complete the subsequent Acts of Chapter V until you unlock the latest Archon Quest or Tribal Chronicles introduced in the current version update.

3. New World Quests

"Lost Traveler in the Ashen Realm" Quest Chain, "From One Case to Another" Quest Chain, "Charge Forward! Go, Go, Go!," "Molting Season," "A Saurian Returns to the Nest," "Every Aspect of a Warrior," "Dancin' in the Moonlight," "Come Fly With Me," "Stand by Me," "The Mystery of Tecoloapan Beach," "Twisted Extension," and "Open Your Heart to Me," etc.

Adds new content to the "In the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons" Quest Chain.

V. New Enemies

Tenebrous Papilla

◇ A great black monster that has come from the abyssal dark, eroding the memories of the earth. It can warp itself and transform into a formidable foe.

Some of its attacks can cause stackable Attrition that, after a time, will cause your active character to lose HP. During combat, the Tenebrous Papilla will use Beseech the Dark to grant itself a Void Ward. At this time, use a certain number of elemental attack to break the Ward, which will cause it to enter a confused state. Nightsoul-aligned elemental attacks will break the Ward more effectively.

Located at Quahuacan Cliff

Wayob Manifestation

Burning-Aflame: Wayob Manifestation and Biting-Cold Wayob Manifestation

◇ The Wayob worshipped by the various tribes of Natlan manifest themselves in the form of these obsidian totems.

In battle, the Wayob Manifestation will deploy its Arena: Moment of Trial, creating a shield for itself and absorbing the Elemental Energy of all characters in the Arena. Characters in the Arena deal greatly increased DMG. If the shield is broken before the Arena expires, they will also regain a large amount of Energy. However, if they fail to break the shield, the Manifestation will generate a barrier based on the value of the remaining Elemental Shield.

Natlan Saurians

"Qucusaurus," "Iktomisaurus," "Qucusaurus Chick," and "Iktomisaurus Chick"

◇ The Saurians that inhabit the land of Natlan.

Special dragons that were better able to adapt to their environments, taking on different shapes and forms based on their surroundings.

Sauroform Tribal Warriors

"Winged Warrior: Skysoarer," "Winged Warrior: Feathershedder," "Winged Warrior: Skymaster," "Qucusaurus Warrior: Heartstar Hammer," "Qucusaurus Warrior: Blazing Sky," "Spiritspeaker Warrior: Determinator," "Spiritspeaker Warrior: Psychokinetic," "Spiritspeaker Warrior: Contemplator," "Iktomisaurus Warrior: Icy Tidebearer," and "Iktomisaurus Warrior: Cryocrystal Cannon"

◇ The warriors of Natlan's great tribes who fight for the honor and glory of their people.

Over long years of living and fighting alongside their Saurian companions, these tribal warriors have gradually acquired their traits and learned how to apply them on the field of battle.

New Action Cards: "Flowing Purity," "Maiden's Fading Beauty," "Iktomisaurus," "Scions of the Canopy," "Ultimate Surfing Buddy!," and "Glittering Gemstones" can be purchased from Prince at The Cat's Tail.

The Forge Realm's Temper is once again available. The theme of this edition is "The Forge Realm's Temper: Endless Swarm":

(1) Defeat endless waves of enemies during the rounds in "The Forge Realm's Temper: Endless Swarm" to accrue score.

(2) After you complete the stage battle, you will gain a score and the corresponding rewards based on the highest score you got in the stage.

(3) Different stages will contain different special rules that grant buffs. Use these rules well to fight more effectively.

Imaginarium Theater

After the Version 5.2 update, the two Imaginarium Theater seasons will be as follows:

○The first season of "Imaginarium Theater" will be available on December 1, 2024.

Required Elemental Types: Hydro, Electro, and Anemo

Opening Characters: Sangonomiya Kokomi, Xingqiu, Raiden Shogun, Kujou Sara, Jean, and Lynette

When Imaginarium Theater is open, the corresponding Opening Characters will obtain Fantastical Blessings.

Special Guest Stars: Lyney, Bennett, Zhongli, and Collei

After the first season of Imaginarium Theater begins, the characters Fischl, Sangonomiya Kokomi, Alhaitham, and Gaming will each gain a new "Thespian Trick" that can be exchanged from the NPC Wolfy.

○The second season of "Imaginarium Theater" will be available on January 1, 2025.

Required Elemental Types: Pyro, Cryo, and Geo

Opening Characters: Diluc, Bennett, Ganyu, Kaeya, Navia, and Noelle

When Imaginarium Theater is open, the corresponding Opening Characters will obtain Fantastical Blessings.

After the second season of Imaginarium Theater begins, the characters Klee, Zhongli, Shikanoin Heizou, and Layla will each gain a new "Thespian Trick" that can be exchanged from the NPC Wolfy.

Spiral Abyss

After the Version 5.2 update, Phase 1 of the Spiral Abyss will be updated on December 16.

◆ Floor 11 Ley Line Disorder changed to:

• Characters' Charged Attack DMG increased by 75%.

◆ Updated the monster lineup on Floors 11 – 12 of the Spiral Abyss.

◆ Blessing of the Abyssal Moon:

Shield-Piercing Moon

All party members' Shield Strength is increased by 20%. While the active character is protected by a Shield, when they deal DMG to opponents, their attacks will unleash a shockwave at the opponents' position that deals True DMG. This can trigger once every 5s.

〓Adjustments & Optimizations〓

● Enemies

Adjusts the collision size of the enemy "Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant" to prevent it from getting in the way of Plunging Attacks.

Optimizes the combat experience against the enemy "Ichcahuipilli's Aegis": Characters cannot be returned to the place of exile again for a short time after leaving it.

● Quests

Adjusts the Artifacts equipped by Trial Characters in some Quests from "Noblesse Oblige" to an Artifact Set more suited to Trial Characters at Level 75 or above.

Adds the "Recollections" function to certain World Quests, which can be used to review plot which has already been completed. Travelers can choose whether they want to review content or not.

● Serenitea Pot

Adds the filter option for "Set Type" to the filters on the Furnishing Blueprints tab of the Realm Depot.

Adds the "Wood" exchange tab in Realm Depot which is refreshed every week.

When holding down to drag-select in Editing Mode's Multi-Select Mode, if selection is interrupted, or no new Furnishings are selected, the previously selected Furnishings will remain selected.

Increases the storage limit for seeds in the "Seed Dispensary" from 20 to 40.

Reduces the cooldown for using the "Boon of the Elder Tree" from 15 seconds to 5 seconds.

Adds a prompt message: A prompt will now appear when the number of unobtained Furnishings in a Replica in the "Serenitea Pot" exceeds a certain amount, preventing the Queued List from being created, Quick Purchase from being used, or Furnishing Blueprints from being used quickly.

● Imaginarium Theater

Adds a "Next Act" button to the finalization screen after combat events if the Traveler has completed Act 3 of the "Imaginarium Theater" and the quests related to "Wolfy."

Adds a "Supporting Cast Record for this Season" button to the Supporting Cast interface, allowing Travelers to check details of the corresponding records. (This feature will be available after the Imaginarium Theater is updated on December 1.)

Adds a character constellation display to the "Supporting Cast" interface.

Adds elemental statistics for characters to the "Performance Details" screen.

The "Performance Details" interface now remembers the tab Travelers were viewing when they last closed the page.

Adds Character Role and Character Elemental Type filter tags to the "Party Setup" screen and calculates and displays the number of characters selected with each role and elemental type.

Adds a "Villain" avatar at the bottom of the Event Selection interface and includes a description of the attributes that have an advantage against them in the Villain's description.

Calculates the number of characters of each elemental type in the remaining Principal Cast members in Companion Events, and will display the avatars of the corresponding Alternate Cast that can still be selected.

Increases the "Blessing Level" buffs for "Special Guest Stars" by 100%.

● Artifacts

Adds a function to display 5-star Artifacts in the order of when they were obtained on the "Artifacts" tab of the Inventory.

Adds an Artifact-marking function: Marked Artifacts will be automatically locked. When a locked Artifact is unlocked, its mark will also be removed.

Adds an option to filter by "Mark" status to the "Artifacts Filter" function.

Optimizes the sorting rules for "Marked," "Locked Only," and "Not Locked" Artifacts in the Inventory.

Changes the name of the "Artifact Auto-Lock" function to "Lock Assistance" on the "Artifacts" tab of the Inventory and adjusts its layout.

Adds a button to access the "Lock Assistance" function to the "Domain of Blessing" entry and Reward Collection interfaces.

"Lock Assistance" Function:

A. Adds a lock option for any slot to "Automatically lock Artifacts with both CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG as Minor Affixes."

B. "Set Lock Plans" allow for a certain Minor Affix to be set as a "Required Affix." Once marked, only Artifacts that include all the Required Affixes will be locked in the corresponding Set Lock Plan.

C. "Set Lock Plans" now allow for different Minor Affix requirements to be set for different slots.

D. Adds a "Recommended Plan" for each Set which can be enabled separately and will automatically update.

E. Adds a "Delete Plans" function which allows for the quick removal of Set Lock Plans that have been set.

● Map

"Waverider Waypoints" can now be tracked on the map interface.

Map prompts without rewards will not cause the area tabs in the bottom-right corner of the "Map" interface to display a red dot.

When opening the map interface in a Domain, the map will be centered on the Domain.

Original Resin regeneration time can now be viewed on the "Map" interface and in the "Adventurer Handbook" when in Controller Mode.

● Other Systems

Optimizes the reading experience of the interface display for challenges in the open world for some languages when the challenge text is long.

Adds "Condessence Crystals" as potential acceleration items to the Accelerate function on the Ingredient Processing interface.

In addition to indicating the locations of existing chests, the "Treasure Compass" can now indicate some locations and clues that may lead to chests spawning (including Open World Time Trial Challenges, Seelie that are yet to return to their Seelie Courts, and Monetoo that are yet to complete their graffiti).

Adds a new Quick Swap feature for "Treasure Compasses" and "Oculus Resonance Stones" which can automatically swap these gadgets based on the region your character is in (you can enable this setting via the pop-up prompt that appears when you first use one of these gadgets after the update or by selecting one of them on the "Gadgets" tab of the Inventory).

Speeds up the accompanying animations for creating items on the Crafting, Forge, Creation/Furnishings, and Cooking interfaces.

When claiming, forging, or redeeming weapons on the Battle Pass, Forge, and Shop > Starglitter Exchange interfaces, the amount and refinement rank of any duplicate weapons already in your Inventory will be displayed.

● Audio

Optimizes the sound performance of certain enemies.

● Other

Adjusts the criteria for unlocking the Tribe Reputation "Obsidian Totem Pole" teleport function once the Reputation System in "Natlan" has been unlocked: After adjustment, the Traveler can unlock the teleport function by approaching an "Obsidian Totem Pole" in a region where they have already unlocked the Statue of The Seven ("Obsidian Totem Poles" whose teleport functions have already been unlocked before the update are unaffected).

Optimizes the Aimed Shot animations for some male bow users.

The Limited-Time Area Exploration Reward page on the "Events Overview" interface now displays the Traveler's Exploration Progress in their own world when in Co-Op Mode (previously, only the Exploration Progress of the host player—or Player 1—would be displayed).

Increases the Base DMG of the Overloaded, Superconduct, Electro-Charged, and Shatter reactions.

The keyboard can now be used to select dialogue options during quests (using the default keyboard settings, the W and S keys or the mouse wheel will move the selection up and down, and the F key will confirm which option is selected).

Adjusts the Phlogiston recovery range of "Teleport Waypoints" in "Natlan" by increasing the height of their detection range.

After the Version 5.2 update, Travelers using certain mobile devices may receive a pop-up message saying "Some quest resources are missing. Returning to the login screen" when they first log in. Follow the instructions in the pop-up to enter the game normally.

〓Bug Fixes〓

● Quests

Fixes an issue whereby interacting with the tabletop to continue the adventure during Clorinde's Story Quest "Hunters' Gathering" would cause the game to enter the wrong scene under certain circumstances.

● Enemies

Fixes an issue whereby, when challenging the enemy "Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto," the DMG dealt would be erroneously reduced when all destructive waves from a single round of the Baleful Vajra's destructive waves hit the same character.

Fixes an issue whereby there is a chance that the "Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant" won't take DMG from Electro-Charged reactions when challenged.

Fixes an issue whereby the progress for "Adaptive Countermeasures" erroneously continues to accumulate even after the game is paused when challenging the "Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device" or "Secret Source Automaton: Hunter-Seeker."

Fixes an issue whereby there is a chance the enemy erroneously exits combat and recovers their HP if a player is downed when challenging "Childe," "Signora," "Shouki no Kami," or "Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto."

● Characters

Fixes an issue whereby, when Xilonen activates a Source Sample, the corresponding special effect would not properly display on certain devices.

Fixes an issue whereby when Yelan uses her Elemental Skill to mark enemies, if her Lifeline explodes while triggering Nightsoul Transmission to switch to another character, the Elemental Particles generated will experience abnormalities.

Fixes an issue whereby Xilonen would erroneously remain in idle animation when she fell while climbing in the Nightsoul's Blessing state under specific circumstances.

Fixes an issue whereby Xilonen's Charged Attack special effect would not be correctly displayed as the corresponding element when she gains other elemental infusions.

Fixes an issue whereby other Travelers experience erroneous camera shaking when Kachina uses a Normal Attack while riding Turbo Twirly in Co-Op Mode.

Fixes an issue whereby characters with alternative Sprint Skill or Nightsoul's Blessing state would experience rapid, abnormal twitching on the surface of the water when using the related skills or entering the corresponding state under specific circumstances.

● Genius Invokation TCG

Fixes an issue whereby the achievement "Rhythm Tengoku" cannot be completed when preventing the enemy "Electro Abyss Mage" from regenerating its Ward.

Fixes an issue whereby there is a small chance that Saurians' special effects will not display normally from the view of the host player (Player 1) when other players are indwelling Saurians in Co-Op Mode.

CHAPTER ONE back from rehab

SYNOPSIS the beginning of a teenage girl named y/n who is fresh out of rehab but doesn't intend to stay clean.

FROM THE WRITER AHH IM SORRY IM LATE GUYS!! This is the first chapter I'm ever writing, I took some inspo from episode 1 but I'm going to have to cut each episode into fourths because I really don't want to spend a whole week trying to finish a whole episode and school work. But I hope you guys really enjoy this chapter as much as I did - Love you guys, Sapiyah <3

Suddenly, the whole world goes dark and nothing else matters except the person standing in front of you.

You were once happy. Content.

Sloshing and swimming around your own private, primordial pool; Then one day, for reasons beyond your control, you were continuously and repeatedly crushed...

Over..and over.. again by the cervix of your mother, M/n.

You put up a good fight, but eventually lost, for the first time, but not the last.

You were born 3 days after 9/11, your mother and father spent two days in the hospital, holding you under the soft glow of the television, watching those towers fall over and over again, until the feeling of grief gave away to numbness.

And then, without warning, a middle-class childhood in the American suburbs.

You were sitting at the dinner table with your mother, M/n, and Father, F/n. But it appeared something else had gotten your attention, a set of numerous lights above the dinner table, in which you wanted to count.

"Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen, Sixteen, Seventeen.."

" What are you looking at y/n?"

"..."

"What are you doing? ..Y-y/n look at me."

"One, two, three, .."

"What are you doing Y/n?"

*cries*

"Id say she's suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder..."

Its not like you were physically abused..

"...attention deficit disorder..."

..Or had some type of clean water storage..

"..general anxiety disorder.."

..Or was molested by a family member.

"..and possibly bipolar disorder. But she's a little bit too young to tell."

So, explain this shit to me.

"Honey, it's just the way your brain was hardwired; Plenty of great, intelligent, funny, interesting and creative people have struggled with the same things you struggle with."

"Like who?"

"Vincent Van Gogh, Sylvia Plath, and even Brittney Spears, your favorite!"

You haven't remembered much from the ages of eight to twelve. Just that the world moved fast, and your mind moved slow.

"Does anyone have an idea of what a perception might be?"

And every now and then, if you focused on the way you breathed...

You'd die.

"Slow down, just breathe"

Until every second of the day, you'd find yourself trying to outrun your anxiety.

"What's wrong Y/n?"

..And quite frankly..

"I'm just fucking exhausted"

Coming down to the kitchen, you could hear the small talk between your mother and younger sister, S/N.

"You said the doctor was in our network. How can he suddenly be out of network?"

"I can't afford it."

"Did you see that video of the girl who got acid thrown at her face?"

"What? No.."

"It's pretty fucked up.."

"Mom do you know where the tampons are?"

"In my bathroom, right under the sink."

And at one point, you'd make a choice of who you are and what you want.

"Alright Gia, let's go"

"Why do the co-payments cost $300?"

"Y/n did you eat breakfast?"

".."

"What's with the glasses?"

"What glasses?"

You just happened to show up one day, without a map or a compass..

"Attention students, we need to lockdown."

..Or to be honest, anyone capable of giving on iota of good fucking advice.

And I know it all seems sad but guess what? You did not build this system up, nor fuck it up yourself.

But then it happens. That moment where your breath starts to slow. And every time you breathe, you breathe out all the oxygen you have.

Then everything stops: Your heart, your lungs, then finally, your brain. And everything you feel, you wish, and want to forget, it all just sinks.

And then suddenly... you give it air again, give it life again.

You remember the first time it happened, where you were so scared you wanted to call 911. Go to the hospital and be kept alive by machines and apple juice. But you didn't want to look like an idiot, and you didn't want to fuck up everyone else's night.

And now overtime, that's all you've wanted.. those two seconds of nothingness.

You spent a good portion of summer before junior year in rehab. God granted you the serenity to accept things you cannot change, the courage to change the things you can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

"Y/N," your sister yelled from afar, greeting you after your long leave. You smiled, and whilst running up to her, tried to continue the conversation with your younger sibling.

"Hey, Come here!"

"How are you?"

"Good, I missed you."

"I missed you too."

"Look at you, are you growing?"

"No."

Looking over, you see your mother standing by your family car.

"Hey," you yelled out to her, only to receive a small smile from her.

And with that. you knew it was your time to go.

"I'm very happy for you Y/n. You're about to start a brand-new chapter," Your mother says while driving you and your sister to school. You looked at her with a smile, then turned your attention back to the car window.

You had no intentions of staying clean. And yet, Jirou just moved into town.

"There's some new girl in town that I think you'll be friends with," Shoto said, with you standing beside him in his store.

"Who?"

"Shit, I don't know. She came in looking all punk rock and shit; So I'm thinking to myself, like, 'look like somebody Y/n would be friends with'."

Which was sort of a dead-on observation for Shoto, who's not normally revolving in the same direction as planet earth.

"So how long have you been back?" He asked.

"About five days."

"And how are you feeling?"

"I mean, ever since I gave my life over to my lord and savior Jesus Christ, things have been, like, really good."

"Word? That's what's up," You chuckled at his snarky remark, giving him a small smile.

"I'm fucking with you," you said whilst laughing, "It was a joke."

"Shit, hey, I don't judge," he defended, hands raising to just above his chest.

"But for real, is Deku in the back?"

"Are you serious?" Shoto questioned, seeming very disappointed in you.

"What, you think cause' I went to rehab I stayed clean?"

"I mean, ain't that the point?" he asks.

"Yeah, well, the world is coming to an end, and I haven't even graduated high school yet."

You gave Shoto one more smile before going to Deku, whilst Shoto stared at you the entire way there; There was a hint of sadness in his eyes, but since you were too busy looking for Deku, you didn't see.

You opened one of the doors of the refrigerators, leading you right to him with a bowl of fruit loops,"I thought your ass was dead," he said one he saw your appearance.

"And I thought you had Asperger's till I realized your just a prick," you barked back.

"This a fickle industry, y'all come and go. I'm just trying to stack my cash, pay off our mortgage," he said while pulling out a bunch of plastic bags out of a microwave.

"So what the fuck do you want?" You gave him a knowing look before he handed you needed.

"You sure you don't want to try something new?" He asks you.

"Like what?"

"2C-T-2, 2C-T-7, and 5-MeO-DIPT."

"I'm sorry I have no fucking idea of what you just said."

"It doesn't matter," he stated, "but this shit, is fucking lit."

"What is it?"

"N-diisopropyl-5-methoxytryptamine. It's a fast-acting psychedelic."

Got some similarities to LSD, but with, like, key differences. Not as visual as shit, but definitely a sense distorter.

"What's wrong?" That same dark purple hair girl questioned.

"I'm just so happy," you responded back.

"I don't know, this shits been going off in Tampa, and mad people like to fuck with this," Deku continued on with his descriptions with the drug.

"Okay. Yeah, why not."

"That'll be 120."

"Oh uh, Shoto said he'd spot me."

"Shoto doesn't spot nobody."

"Yeah, well, it's a post-rehab discount, so you should ask him."

"I will go ask him, cause' I know your full of shit."

Those were the last words he said before you walked out. Those were the last words you heard before you saw the same two boys in freshman year.

Like always, our next Cert Update includes further code fixes. Code describes changes made directly to the engine, which requires Certification from each Console platform to pass its checks, such as ensuring an Update doesn’t crash the machine itself.

We also need to ensure Cross Platform Play parity so all Tenno can continue to play together!

Incarnon Mode is inaccessible to Clients after a Host Migration in the Circuit

Missing VFX on Void Mirrors (ex: seen in Isolation Vaults in Deimos)

Burst-firing weapons like the Hind or Sybaris ignore the user option "Fire manual-trigger weapons continuously," causing them to fire burst after burst automatically

Aiming-down-sight Mods do not grant benefits to Yareli while on Merulina

Using VOIP in Faceoff missions on Xbox can cause crashing

Weapons that have alt-fires that empty entire magazines (ex: Cyanex, Kuva Kraken, etc.) will retain one bullet left in the chamber

Interview With a Writer

Story: 1968

Paring: modern Aemond Targaryen x female!reader, modern Aegon Targaryen x female!reader

Where did the idea for 1968 come from?

I am a high school social studies teacher by trade, and my absolute favorite class to teach is American History. The 1960s and 70s were actually one of my weak spots when I got my first teaching job back in 2020, so I ended up researching a lot about that period of time and got absolutely obsessed with it. In my American History class, I spend a whole lesson on JUST 1968, because so many important events happened in that year that are emblematic of broader trends and tensions.

One day I was re-reading one of my favorite books, The Other Mrs. Kennedy by Jerry Oppenheimer, which is specifically about Bobby Kennedy’s wife Ethel, but also gives a lot of insight into the Kennedy family generally and what it was like to live through that era. The idea of using this setting as a fic AU occurred to me, and I ruminated on it for a few weeks while finishing up Napoleonville.

Eventually, I had a revelation of the ending of 1968 (true to my usual pattern), and then knew I’d have to write the fic! I was actually really worried about all the political and historical details being too boring and/or confusing (especially for non-U.S. readers), so I was relieved that so many people gave it a chance. 🥰

Honestly, it was brilliant with the similarities to the Kennedys and Targaryens in the story. Were there any historical cameos in 1968 that you enjoyed channeling? Or perhaps struggled with?

I find LBJ super fascinating, and I feel that because of the Vietnam War he really doesn’t get a fair assessment when people look back on his presidency. His work for civil rights and the Great Society (SNAP, Medicaid, Head Start, Job Corps, PBS, etc.) was truly revolutionary, and as someone who grew up in poverty and benefitted from a lot of those programs, I don’t think LBJ’s contributions get the recognition and praise they deserve. I perceive him as a haunted sort of figure, and I really enjoyed his cameos. (To be clear, he was also super problematic and bizarre personally, and I don’t mean to excuse any of that 😂).

As for someone who was difficult to write about…honestly, the George Wallace research I did was super depressing, so while he was necessary to include, I didn’t really enjoy working on those parts!

Was there anything in specific that inspired your Reader portrayal?

Io is a bit of a composite sketch. Ethel Kennedy was known as doggedly committed to her husband’s career above all else (despite eventually being the mother of 11 children!!), and I think that inspired Io’s single-minded determination to help Aemond win the election in the first few chapters. Ethel was traditional in the sense that her husband was the center of her world and made all the important decisions, as was expected of women of her social class in that time period. But Io is also a manifestation of the counterculture of the late-60s. She is young, educated, genuinely progressive politically, and likes to party. She tries to reconcile the expectations of her family/time period and her actual personality by intentionally choosing a husband with whom she can have an equal partnership making the world a better place. And…we all know how that worked out.

Can you explain your interpretation of Aegon? How does he compare and contrast to Aemond? What drives them? Why are they the way that they are?

In 1968, Aegon is 40 years old, and so his role in the Targaryen political dynasty is very well-established: once his family realized he couldn’t be weaponized for their purposes, he was largely disposed of, and lives this aimless, uninspired, self-loathing sort of existence. He does have some genuine love for his family—missing Daeron and feeling guilt over him being sent to Vietnam, a vague sort of fondness for Mimi and the kids, distress when Aemond is shot in Palm Beach, an apology of sorts to Alicent by performing “Mama Tried” at her birthday party—but Aegon exists on the periphery, and he knows this, and while he doesn’t want to be a politician the rejection still stings.

At first, he perceives Io as yet another person who makes him feel inadequate and unloved; and in fairness, she is cruel to him, in fact more so than Aegon is to Io in return. It is noteworthy that in Chapter 1, she viciously criticizes Aegon in front of everyone in the waiting room (“if someone had to get killed tonight it should have been you”), but he doesn’t return fire until they are alone (the infamous cow comment), and even then he seems to regret it immediately.

Aegon, fundamentally, is more sad than mean. When in Chapters 2 and 3 Io abruptly reveals herself to be someone who is vulnerable, wounded, abandoned, and kind of a hippie lowkey, Aegon begins to perceive her differently, and she becomes an opportunity for him to be truly understood, protected, and loved for the first time in his life.

I think we would all describe Aemond as ambitious and ruthless, determined to prove that he is the best to compensate for deep, lifelong insecurities. He is a progressive politically because he sees a path to build a winning coalition, and perhaps in small part because of the whole Greeks-being-despised immigrants thing. But in 1968 there is a sense that you never fully understand who he is as a person. This is intentional! 1968 is Io’s story, and she never gets to see the whole Aemond. She sees parts of the picture, but never the full image. As awful as he is to Io, there is also a side of Aemond that truly (even if in an…unorthodox way 😂) loves Alys and their child, and there are clues that Alys understands him like no one else can (that Ouija board message… 👀). He’s by no means a good guy, but he is multifaceted. I think the stress of the presidency, and his long separation from Alys, ends up softening Aemond a bit, hence him defending Io’s reputation and ultimately letting her go.

Did anything inspire your other OCs? Specifically "The Ones Who Married In" club?

I didn’t sit down and plan what sorts of characters would be in the “The Ones Who Married In” club. I was possessed by these random visions of them: a perpetually drunk Mimi, a perhaps not too bright but very sweet Fosco, and Malibu Barbie but make her Polish Ludwika, and I was thinking: “These people are ridiculous, this will never work!” But then when I thought about it more, I realized that Mimi, Fosco, Ludwika, and Io all serve strategic roles to help advance Aemond’s career, and so it would make sense that Otto and Aemond cobbled them together and shoved them into the family portraits. I ended up really loving them, but they weren’t a big part of my original outline for 1968. 🙂

How would Io rate them based on her friendship with each of them?

Fosco is definitely #1; they connect on an emotional level that is deep but also largely unspoken. Ludwika is a close #2; she’s Io’s shopping buddy but also witty, supportive, and very feminist in her own way. And then Mimi is a distant #3. Io pities Mimi and feels loyalty to her as a fellow Targaryen, and goes out of her way to try to protect Mimi from her own self-destructive tendencies. But Io, as a collected and self-reliant person, also has difficulty understanding and dealing with someone as messy as Mimi. And of course, once Io realizes she is super into Aegon, that creates some one-sided resentment of Mimi!

Do you have a feeling of what happened after chapter 12? What is the ending you vaguely see with Aegon and Io? What about Aemond and Alys?

Where I end a fic is really the last clear image I see of the characters, so I sadly don’t have a lot of specifics to offer. What I do feel is that Io and Aegon have children of their own (like, several children, maybe even 5+ children) and Aegon is present for their early years in a way he wasn’t able to be for his kids with Mimi. Io is a stepmom to Aegon’s OG kids and has a good relationship with them, but she’s only really close with Cosmo.

I also sense that Aemond has basically no contact with Io or Aegon, which makes sense considering his abuse of Io and the lifelong fury Aegon would therefore have towards him. Aemond is happy with Alys and their son (as happy as someone like him is capable of being); he does the ex-president thing and settles into a largely ceremonial role and advises Democratic politicians, although he is not very friendly with President Reagan.

And then my wild theory is that a Daeron/John McCain ticket ends up winning the 2000 election and the War On Terror plays out completely differently!

And finally... 1968 seemed to pour from you like a fever dream. Does this mean something else might be coming to continue the Maggie's Suffering Sunday tradition?

1968 did seem to fly by, despite it being a longer fic at 12 chapters! I do have something planned for this Sunday... 😉 All I can say for now is that it is very weird, totally unexpected, and tonally a mashup of Comet Donati and When The World Is Crashing Down.

I've been thinking long and hard about the BDS Microsoft Boycott call. The request focused on Microsoft Games, on the basis that, in theory, that's the easiest part of the Microsoft financial ecosystem for people to disconnect from in order to send a message. This includes pushing people (including parents) to uninstall and get their kids to stop playing Minecraft.

First off, the way the game industry is now, unfortunately, is that game developers or even full divisions of larger companies that underperform - or even just indy developers who self publish and underperform, just get shut down and everyone gets fired. Even if we boycott South of Midnight as part of the BDS movement and clearly communicate that message, what's more likely to happen is the company would be shut down, everyone would be fired, and a bunch of alt-right chuds would ignore the BDS boycott and call this a triumph of "Get Woke, Go Broke". They might even try to co-opt the movement as a half alliance of convenience, half desire to redirect the movement for antisemitic ends, with no actual interest in the plight of the Palestinian people.

There was an opportunity here to point people towards alternatives outside of either abandoning the software entirely, or alternative programs people who want to boycott can use to abandon something that they didn't think they could.

First, and this feels weird to say, Minecraft is something that doesn't have a lot of alternative replacements - it's a sandbox that allows children to indulge their imagination to create large scale ambitious projects that can't be replicated the same way as, for example, Lego, because they take no space in the real world, and thus you have no real world storage concerns, both in terms of space and in terms of risk of damage. The alternative to Minecraft isn't Palworld or Ark Survival Evolved. It's Roblox. And Roblox is also a bunch of dark patterns and sexual predators stacked on top of each other in a trenchcoat.

Now, on the other hand, Microsoft will happily charge you money to host a Minecraft server through them, and that puts money in the Azure division, the part that is directly aiding and abetting Israeli war crimes. But you don't have to go through Microsoft. You can run your own Minecraft server. Microsoft even tells you how to do it.

So, cancel your Minecraft Worlds subscription, and roll your own server. You can even set it up so it stays in your network, so your kid's friends have to come over to use it (or so it stays in the family).

Next up - Microsoft pushes OneDrive hard as part of Windows 11. They also pushed it hard on Windows 10. They insist that it's the best and biggest way, and easiest way to backup your data. It's not. There are myriad alternatives, from Google Drive, to Dropbox, to the Apple iCloud (if you use iOS devices). And, OneDrive uses Azure Cloud services to host your data

So, disable OneDrive, and go somewhere else. I've listed several alternatives above, but if you're okay with the backup being on site, you can also build a NAS (Network Attached Storage) server to store files locally. This does have the disadvantage that if something damages your house, your kinda in trouble, though using something like Backblaze on the NAS can make up for that.

Then there's the whole Microsoft 365 suite. Azure is connected to the Microsoft Office part of the business, and they've been incorporating some of those services, like Copilot, into Microsoft 365. So, again, there are alternatives.

LibreOffice has been around for years, is free, and runs locally with no cloud hooks. You can replace Outlook with Thunderbird, or the BetterBird fork.

Finally, there are the hooks to Copilot, which also runs on Azure, which Microsoft runs in the operating system. Turn that shit off.

A skin palette based on a selection of skins from @withlovefromsimtown / Lifa's Birthday Suit set. It comprises 11 geneticized and townified skins, including defaults for S1-S2-S3-S4 and the alien skin (check out the original set for the zombie & genie defaults).

Beside that base palette, you also get optional sets of repo’d showerproof skins for a variety of body shapes.

This palette will conflict with my previous 11-skin palettes (x, x) as I reused the same files to save time on the showerproof skins. This has the upside of giving you the option to use them interchangeably if you want to change up your sims’ looks without compromising their genetics. Like the previous 11-skin palettes, it also conflicts with part of my big realistic palettes (x, x).

The textures are Lifa's, though I made some edits: I changed the color of some of the scalps so they would better match the faces, replaced the teeth with teeth taken from io's 0320 skins, added a few more wrinkles to the elder faces and made the area around their eyes a bit lighter.

• skins 1-10 are geneticized and townified, the alien skin is townified • the number at the end of every file name (e.g. 0.08, 0.1, 0.18…) gives you the genetic value of that skin (to learn more about skin genetics and how to edit them, see Rikkulidea’s tutorial) • if you don’t want all 11 skins, you can absolutely pick and choose, the genetic spectrum won’t be disrupted • everyone TU-EU has the appropriate fat, normal and fit states (for the alien textures to show up as they should, please use Argon’s alien and zombie fitness fix) • toddlers have the cute toddler teeth and babies have no teeth • elders have wrinkles • the non-default skins will appear in CAS in the custom skins bin with these thumbnails:

The showerproof sets

What are showerproof skins? They are skins linked to a custom body shape (or body shapes). When you give a showerproof skin to a sim, that sim will have the body shape that the skin is linked to when they are nude (taking a bath, streaking, doing ACR stuff, etc.). Showerproof skins have no effect whatsoever on clothing, because clothes use their own meshes.

The showerproof sets are repo’d to the regular skins above: you need the regular set for the showerproof sets to work. Like the regular set, they’re geneticized, except for the alien ones. You’ll have to choose if you want them to be townified or not (townified skins can appear on new townies and NPCs that spawn, non-townified skins cannot).

The required meshes are included, don’t forget to choose between blockfeet/sexyfeet/Marvine feet and Maxis hands/smooth hands. If you’re missing meshes, the affected sims will appear as floating heads or will be missing half their bodies when naked (it won’t break your game in any way, it’s just definitely not the intended result).

All of these skins are tooltipped, have their custom thumbnails and are sortindexed so that they will appear tidily set after set in your custom skins bin. If you use other skins though, there is a chance that those will appear jumbled up with mine if their sortindex numbers happen to clash. It’s only an aesthetic issue but if it bothers you, see this tutorial by Kurimas on how to change the order in which clothes appear in the CAS catalogue (it works for skins and other bodyshop content too).

Dovrei essere contenta vista la quantità dei drama visti quest'anno. Ma ahimè quantità non implica qualità: a differenza degli altri anni, non ho trovato serie capaci di farmi innamorare...capaci di rimanere nella mia mente per settimane e settimane.

Quel drama che ti prende il cuore e si fa amare anche con mille difetti...ho visto drama carini, apprezzabili e godibili ma roba alla Black o alla The Untamed - per capirci - non ne ho trovata.

ma comunque:

1) Il drama più bello che hai visto: Reborn Rich

Ok, diciamo che questo drama è tutto, tranne che perfetto. Il finale poi andrebbe riscritto da capo e la storia d'amore per me, poteva benissimo essere eliminata.

Nonostante ciò a me questa serie è piaciuta molto. La recitazione è stata d'altissimo livello per tutti gli attori, con alcuni che hanno letteralmente spaccato lo schermo data la loro bravura.

La trama non è nulla di innovativo per carità - tizio sfigatissimo che torna nel passato e grazie alle sue conoscenze trova rivalsa e giustizia - ma ho amato tutta la parte anni 80' e 90' e 2000: i vestiti, i film, gli eventi e tutta la cultura che faceva parte di quel periodo. Come dimenticare l'attesa per lo scoccare degli anni 2000? Quando alcuni pensavano che sarebbe finito il mondo?

E' poi così soddisfacente vedere il percorso del protagonista, i suoi piani e soluzioni per raggiungere i suoi obbiettivi e inevitabilmente ti ritrovi a fare il tifo per lui, soprattutto in confronto agli altri personaggi. Song Joong Ki tratteggia un personaggio che per certi versi ricorda il buon Vincenzo e siccome ne ero un po' orfana, trovo bello ritrovare anche qui. Anche se qui la scena viene letteralmente rubata da Lee Sung Min che regala un interpretazione del Nonno del protagonista da Oscar. la dinamica tra Nonno e Nipote poi, credo che sia la cosa più bella e che più mi ha convinto di questa serie.

Ho poi trovato interessante come nonostante la serie fosse un mini corso di economia aziendale, tra azioni, borsa, indice di mercato e compagnia, io non mi sia mai annoiata. La serie ha un buon ritmo, svariati colpi di scena ed è emozionante osservare il viaggio di Joong Ki per ottenere la sua rivincita.

2) La storia d'amore che ti ha conquistato di più: My Dear Donovan

Ci sono state tante storie d'amore che ricordo con piacere soprattutto sul lato Korea. Ma faccio il salto della quaglia e voto per My Dear Donovan direttamente dalla Thailandia.

La prima cosa che ho apprezzato è che il lead non fosse il solito CEO arrogante, con la puzza sotto il naso che guarda un po', si innamora del caso umano di turno. In My Dear Donovan, il Donovan è un ragazzo normalissimo che nonostante faccia l'attore e quindi si presume sia superbo come pochi, in realtà è dolcissimo e molto alla mano.

La storia d'amore è semplice ma ben costruita passo passo, con la protagonista imbranatissima in amore ma una volta trovatolo, è decisa a stargli accanto nel bene e nel male. Come ogni relazione ha i suoi alti e bassi, litigate, dubbi, fraintendimenti, problemi di comunicazione ecc ecc ma loro reggono botta - soprattutto grazie alla lead - e superano le difficoltà che gli si pongono davanti guidati dalla voglia di stare assieme.

Carini da morire.

3) Il drama che ti è piaciuto di meno: Gaus Electronics

Ok, questo drama è stato visto unicamente per la presenza di Kwak Dong Yeon, attore che avevo adorato in Vincenzo e che volevo vedermi in un ruolo più centrale. Ed perché era una commedia leggera. Io e @veronica-nardi ci guardiamo sempre mattoni, robe serie e per una volta volevamo qualcosa di più spensierato.

Ma Gaus è troppo spensierato. Ed ha una comicità che non mi ha quasi mai fatto ridere. Un po' come Welcome To Waikiki. Quella voglia di far ridere a tutti costi mettendo appositamente scene assurde che dovrebbero essere divertenti ma che lo senti da lontano che sono forzatissime solo per suscitarti la risata.

Più vedo questi genere di drama koreani e più penso che una certa comicità possa farla ed esser convincenti solo i giapponesi.

4) una serie che meriterebbe un sequel: Mezzanotte a Istanbul

Ne ho due. Il primo è Mezzanotte a Istanbul. Necessito di un seguito perché la serie si è conclusa con un colpone di scena che presuppone un continuo ma che ad oggi, nulla si sa. @ili91-efp nulla?

Le domande lasciate aperte sono milioni e tutte le teorie che mi sono fatta sui vari viaggi nel tempo, il ruolo e l'identità della protagonista, sua figlia, il lead e tutta quest'altra roba, DEVE essere risolta.

L'altro è Moving. Anch'esso è finito facendoci presupporre un continuo, con la presentazione di altri ipotetici villain - un intero alfabeto a quanto pare - ma soprattutto voglio vedere come continua la vita delle persone con i super poteri? Le varie famiglie avranno trovato la pace? O il Governo - come si evince dal finale - non ha ancora finito con loro? Dateci il sequel!!

5) Il personaggio preferito: The Gifted

Nonostante la serie di The Gifted sia affondata nella mia opinione personale come il Titanic in quella celebre notte, una cosa positiva me l'ha data: Wave.

Wave mia stella polare nel nulla cosmico.

Quando inizia la serie Wave ci viene presentato come un vero "dito in culo". Ossessionato dai voti e dalla classifica della scuola, Wave non è interessato a stringere amicizie o conoscere persone. Anche perché soffre di una terribile mancanza di fiducia negli altri e teme di poter essere usato.[ SPOILER] cosa che è effettivamente successo. [FINE SPOILER]

Durante la serie Wave mostra un evoluzione clamorosa. Quello che dice e fa' , mi ha riempito di gioia e di un orgoglio senza pari. Durante il drama rimane un personaggio a tutto tondo, deciso e chiaro, dimostrando però di poter e voler cambiare.

Il voler andare nella stessa università dei poracci di Pang rinunciando ad una formazione a 5 stelle per amicizia - anche se per me questi due sono già fidanzati e sposati. Ma non lo dite in giro. Per me sono un BL nascosto - dimostra un cambiamento, un apertura che non ha eguali in nessun altro personaggio della serie. [FINE SPOILER]

6) Il personaggio più odiato: Goodby My Princess

Ci metto quasi tutti i personaggi di Goodbye My Princess. Dal principe in questione, al second lead. Dalla Nonna imperatrice al cane che passa sullo sfondo. Ho augurato ogni male a più di metà personaggi ed ad ogni morte non ho mai versato una singola lacrima. Ok, qui più che colpa dei personaggi era colpa della scrittura della serie.

Ma ancora... se ripenso al lead [SPOILER[ che uccide il second lead davanti alla moglie e dopo gli professa il suo amore, [FINE SPOILER] mi sale un crimine così forte che vorrei entrare nel drama per pestarlo.

Ed è infatti il lead di Goodbye il mio vincitore in questa categoria. La serie ce lo presenta come quest'uomo desideroso di vendetta e potere che manipola, usa, intriga e ammazza chiunque gli si pari davanti. E nemmeno gli affetti più cari sono in salvo dalla sua missione. [SPOILER] Qui ricordo che nella prima vita ha mentito alla lead, la usata, gli ha ammazzato Nonno, Madre e reso pazzo il Padre. L'ha rapita e voleva sposarla con la forza.

Nella sua seconda vita, siccome sta poraccia non aveva sofferto abbastanza, si ritrovano sposati e senza memoria di cosa sia successo prima.

Il lead, nonostante sappia che la famiglia della ragazza sia morta, le mente di nuovo, facendole credere che siano ancora tutti vivi. Forse prova un fascino perverso nel vederla scrivere a dei genitori che MAI RISPONDERANNO. Poi s'innamorano - dio solo sa come - ed il lead inizia a insultarla, stalkerarla... da bravo uomo tossico non comprende come la moglie sia infelice della loro vita matrimoniale e anche se lo capisse NON GLIENE FREGHEREBBE NULLA. L'importante è che lei stia lì. Aggiungiamo sequestro di persona ai reati di quest'uomo.

Con una simile mentalità non può sopportare che la lead sia legata ad un altro uomo, quindi, quando ciccia fuori il second lead e nonostante sappia che sia il maestro della moglie e che lei ci tiene molto, lo ammazza davanti e a lei OBBLIGANDOLA a vederlo morire.

Disperata e obbligata ad un matrimonio tossico la lead finalmente recupera la memoria della sua prima vita e la tegolata che gli arriva in testa è terribile! Quado poi il lead decide di fare guerra al regno della moglie, la ragazza si ammazza pur di fermarlo.

Ma per tutta la serie il lead, con le mani ancora sporche di sangue e sanità mentale della moglie [FINE SPOILER] ci ripeterà che l'ha sempre amata.

OHHHHHH.... l'amore!

Io non so quante imprecazioni ho tirato verso questo personaggio. Ogni volta che era in scena, avevo la bile che saliva a livelli astronomici. Bugiardo, manipolatore, tossico...

7) L'ambientazione più brutta: Back From The Brink

Back from the Brink. Quella foresta di alberi finti tipo recita della scuola mi danno ancora fastidio a pensarci.

Idealmente erano anche paesaggi belli essendo il drama un fantasy, c'erano molte location che visivamente - da lontano - erano belle.

Ma una volta viste da vicino si vedeva questo effetto finto che pareva tutta roba di plastica.

8) Il finale più bello: PS: i hate You

Poetico.

Il finale di questo drama, non solo racchiude perfettamente il mood della serie ma lo fa con un colpone di scena che si poteva annusare da lontano ma che quando accade è così assurdo che non ci credi. Non solo.

Il finale di Ps I hate you chiude splendidamente tutte le trame e da' ai personaggi la conclusione perfetta.

Niente buonismo, niente cose strane per far arrivare al lieto fine forzatamente la storia...finisce tutto come dovrebbe finire.

[SPOILER] ho amato che Saras, l'unica delle cinque ragazze a prendersi la responsabilità dei suoi misfatti, fosse anche l'unica che alla fine sorridesse. [FINE SPOILER]

Finale perfetto. Non lo cambierei di una virgola.

9) Un attore e un attrice che ti sono piaciuti tantissimo: Reborn Rich e One Piece

Attore preferito: Lee Sung Min. La sua interpretazione in Reborn Rich è stata così toccante e intensa che mi sono commossa. Soprattutto nella parte finale della storia quando la trama prevedeva un'interpretazione più emotiva, ha dato il meglio di se. La scena dell'ascensore rimane una delle più toccanti viste quest'anno.

Vorrei però dare il premio di consolazione a Lee Je Hoon in Taxi Driver. Qui la storia prevedeva che l'attore in questione fingesse di essere diverse persone e non importa il tipo: dal coatto di periferia al tirocinante imbranato, Lee Je Hoon ha interpretato in modo magistrale qualsiasi ruolo richiestogli. Bravissimo.

Per le donne invece, voto per Emily Rudd in One Piece. Considerando la giovane età e la pressione del dover intepretare un personaggio così famoso, Emily ha fatto un ottimo lavoro. Il cambiamento della personalità del personaggio durante la serie, è perfettamente realizzato dall'attrice che fa notare molto bene questo passaggio cruciale del suo personaggio.

La sua recitazione non è ovviamente intensa come quella di altre attrici nella mia lista ma voglio dargli il voto sulla fiducia e sul grand lavoro svolto.

10) La morte di un personaggio che ancora non hai superato: Goodbye My Princess

Onestamente non ricordo di morti che non avrei voluto accadessero. Ma trovo allucinante come in Goodbye My Princess [SPOILER] siano crepati TUTTI tranne l'unico a cui auguravo un Erasmus tra i lombrichi.

Scherzi a parte, ci sono rimasta male per la morte della lead poiché sta poraccia aveva avuto una vita di merda, con un matrimonio orribile e l'unico modo per sfuggire a tutto è stato il suicidio. [FINE SPOILER]

Non si meritava quella fine. Non così. E non lei.

Chiariamoci, non è perché mi freghi qualcosa di lei a livello emotivo - mi stava simpatica ma nulla di più - il mio " morte non superata" è più ad un livello di giustizia divina.

Goodbye My princess mi ha insegnato che non c'è giustizia a questo mondo.

11) La OST che ti è piaciuta di più: High and Low

Qui me la gioco facile. Se nel quiz c'è High and Low, stai certa che vincerà nella categoria musicale. Sarà perché in realtà questo drama è uno spottone al gruppo degli Exile?! probabile

Comunque sia, l'OST che voglio far vincere è Top Down degli Exile appunto, canzone che accompagna il Liceo Housan.

Mado' che carica che da'! Il ritmo e quelle note ti fanno venir voglia di saltare sulla sedia e ballare come se non ci fosse un domani.

12) L'attore e attrice peggiori: Café Minamdang/ Back From the Brink

Come attrice peggiore voto Oh Yeon Seo di Cafe Minamdang. Purtroppo a me questa attrice, non c'è verso che mi piaccia. L'avevo già vista in Korean Odissey ed era stata la sua recitazione il più grave motivo per il drop di quella serie. In questa, continuo a trovarla troppo rigida e finta. Una recitazione che non mi convince, con quegli occhi spalancati e quella rigidezza che proprio non mi piace.

Stesso discorso per Neo Hou di Back from the Brink. Ho trovato la sua recitazione troppo rigida con il risultato che il suo personaggio doveva essere altero e freddo ma sembrava troppo compassato. Anche nelle scene presumibilmente più divertenti, la sua rigidità facciale mi ha impedito di godermi i momenti.

13) Una serie che merita più conoscenza: Miu 404

Voterò per MIU 404 premiandolo per essere sì una serie investigativa ad episodi ma capace di sviluppare la trama orizzontale lungo tutta la storia. E non sempre è così. Ha un buon livello di indagine, qualche mistero e personaggi interessanti che creano delle bromance molto carine.

Inoltre ha un buon ritmo e umorismo alla giapponese che non guasta mai.

Merita di essere più conosciuto secondo me, perché è davvero un buon prodotto, uno dei migliori che ho visto di questo genere ad episodi.

14) Il momento che ti ha fatto saltare sulla sedia PS: i hate you

PS: I hate You si è portato a casa qualche premio quest'anno, tra cui questo. Il momento che mi ha fatto saltare sulla sedia non è stato tanto per la rivelazione ma perché era così assurda, così "malefica" - ma che si sentiva da lontano - che quando succede davvero puoi solo coprirti la bocca con la mano sconvoltissima.

E sì, [SPOILER] mi riferisco alla sorpresa di Pitch come psicopatico che ha complottato per uccidere la sua stessa sorella ed avere la ragazza dei suoi sogni come premio e giocattolino nel finale. [ FINE SPOILER]

E' stato stupendo perché io già a metà serie avevo annusato che c'era qualcosa che non andava ma mai avrei pensato che sarebbero arrivati a quel punto.

Capolavoro.

Della psicopatia.

Ma ancora capolavoro.

15) Il protagonista maschile preferito: High and Low The Worst Episode 0

Io sono piuttosto sicura che non è la prima volta che Murayama Yoshiki si prende questo premio. Ahimè sono una sua fan sfegatata: potevo perdermi l'occasione per premiarlo ancora una volta? Dai che è l'ultima.

Tralasciando battute da fangirl, leggendo la lista, grandi lead maschili capaci di prendermi il cuore e farmi empatizzare con loro...non ce ne sono stati. Carini sì. Alcuni più interessanti di altri ma ancora dimenticabili.

Ed allora voto per questo ragazzo - anche se ormai dovrebbe essere sulla venticinquina - ma l'età scolastica del Liceo Oya è variabile - capace sempre di farmi sorridere e stupirmi.

E' chiaro che una delle cose che apprezzo di più in un personaggio è la sua crescita ed evoluzione. Posso amare un characters quando lo vedo crescere, cambiare ed essere una persona diversa, rispetto all'inizio della storia.

Murayama è così. Parte come ragazzino a cui piace fare a botte senza nessuno scopo, per diventare un leader competente e capace anche di prendere decisioni impopolari per salvaguardare il futuro dei ragazzi. E quando nel finale decide di lasciare finalmente la scuola, è come se passasse il testimone agli altri ragazzi che adesso dovranno portare in alto la bandiera dell'Oya come aveva già fatto lui.

Tra i vari personaggi dell'intera saga di High&Low, Murayama è quello che ho amato di più e su cui la serie stessa ha sviluppato la storia. E ci sarà un motivo. XD

16) La storia d'amore che non ti è piaciuta: Extraordinary You

Per non far vincere di nuovo Goodbye My Princess - anche se questa categoria sarebbe la sua, praticamente - voterò per Extraordinaey You.

Non ho mai capito perché e per come questi due si dovessero amare. La lead si incuriosisce del personaggio senza nome che fa da sfondo alla trama del fumetto, iniziano a parlare e s'innamorano. La storia d'amore parte anche in modo carino e per i primi episodi più interessare ma dopo un po' annoia.

Erano perfetti assieme e grondavano miele fuso non c'è mai stato conflitto, tensione, pepe nella loro storia d'amore. Tanto che i classici impedimenti sono stati tutti esterni alla coppia.

Ed alla fine ho trovato la loro storia d'amore piatta e super scontata. Anche perché lui, avendo la personalità di un budino, faceva tutto ciò che la lead gli diceva, lei lo guardava con gli occhi a cuore ecc ecc...

Una coppia noiosa.

17) Miglior bacio: Tale Of The Nine- Tailed 1938

Voto il bacio tra Lee Rang e Jang Yeo Hee.

Finalmente una gioia per quest'uomo!

Dopo un corteggiamento serrato da parte della sirenetta dei nostri cuori e dopo aver ricevuto vari rifiuti, finalmente Lee Rang abbandona tutte le paranoie, insicurezze e dubbi e mi regala un gran bel bacio. Anche perché nato dopo episodi ed episodi di ottima chimica trai due personaggi e occhiate languide da una parte e dall'altra. XD

E' stato bello vederlo sciogliersi a abbandonare l'ossessione per suo fratello per vivere finalmente questa storia d'amore.

18) Il drama che hai fatto fatica a finire: The Gifted 2

Oddio, in questa risposta ci poteva entrare benissimo anche The Midnight Museum ma si è salvato poiché così assurdo e fuori di testa che volevo arrivare alla fine, solo per scoprire cosa gli sceneggiatori si sarebbero inventati di altrettanto inconcepibile.

Ecco perché il voto va a The Gifted 2. La prima stagione mi era piaciuta ma la seconda mi ha terribilmente annoiato e non vedevo l'ora che finisse: personaggi involuti, villain con un plot armor esagerato, buchi di trama, cosa che accadono ma che facciamo finta che non siano mai successe...un delirio.

Inoltre tutta la parte centrale della stagione, non vede la trama fare passi avanti. [SPOILER] Da quando Pang e gli altri si allontano - intorno al 4-5 episodio - fino al 10/11 episodio, non succede nulla di rilevante ai fini della trama. Sì c'è la lotta tra il governo e il preside, la non morte di Time e Korn ma nel disegno globale, tutto questo potevano cancellarlo e voilà il finale non sarebbe cambiato quasi per niente. [FINE SPOILER]

19) Scena d'azione migliore: Yu Yu Hakusho

Incredibile ma vero, non è High And Low a vincere in questa categoria. Anche se le botte sono state meravigliose come sempre!

Voto per combattimenti di Yu Yu Hakusho che sì, c'era troppo sangue e budella per i miei gusti ma le legnate tra Yusuke e Goki nella discarica delle macchine, mi rimarrà nel cervello per mesi.

C'è Goki che prende una portiera di una macchina e la lancia dritto per dritto in faccia a Yusuke. Quello salta al centimetro e con mosse da contorsionista, schiva la portiera che si va a conficcare in un altra auto a 2 cm dal protagonista!

Poesia!

20) Miglior Villain: Reborn Rich

Voto per il vecchio Jin Yang Cheol.

Ok, è un villain un po' atipico ma per il lead e noi spettatori, ha sicuramente rivestito il ruolo di antagonista da sconfiggere.

Il nonno del protagonista infatti, non è malefico, infido o perverso. Quest'uomo è un cinico bastardo, arguto capitalista inflessibile, esigente, a tratti crudele, machiavellico, spregiudicato...ma ha anche dei difetti

Ma allora perché il migliore?

Perché se è difficile creare un eroe in una storia, ancor più difficile è creare un avversario credibile da battere ed il Nonno del protagonista è stato un incredibile rivale per il nipote. Per Do Jun battere il nonno in affari è l'unico modo per mostrare quanto vale, a costo di farlo soffrire.

Ed il finale del personaggio del Nonno è incredibilmente triste e se la serie è riuscita a farmi empatizzare con un tale personaggio, un uomo mostrato spesso nel suo lato peggiore, c'è solo da fare degli applausi.

21) Il finale peggiore: I Am The Years You Are The Star

Qui il premio c'è a mani basse. Dopo 24 episodi che mi rompi il caz..o sulla SICURISSIMA morte della protagonista. poiché malata di una malattia sconosciuta ma incurabile... [SPOILER] lei guarisce. Da cosa non si sa. Come non si sa. Ma lei adesso sta bene. Giusto in tempo per coronare il suo sogno d'amore. Non è bellissimo??! [FINE SPOILER]

Quando sono arrivata al finale ero così basita e fuori dai miei panni che mi sono trovata a ridere istericamente per 10 minuti buoni.

Questo non è un finale. E' una presa per il cu..o.

22) La protagonista femminile preferita: My love from the star

La star Cheon Song Yi. Donna con i contro cazzi ma capace di essere alla mano e super divertente. Nonostante il ruolo da attrice famosissima, Song Yi rimane una ragazza alla mano che fa cose che tutte noi potremmo fare: cantare ubriache davanti alla tv, fare telefonate senza senso o scenate degne della migliore tragedia greca.

Ma oltre a ciò, Cheon Song Yi è anche una donna decisa, che sa quel che vuole e risponde per le rime a chi non la rispetta.

E se qualcosa va male, non si deprime pensando che la sua vita è rovinata ecc..ecc ma prende le cose come vengono. Decisa sì a rimettere in piedi la sua vita dopo i vari problemi ma senza piangersi addosso ogni 3 minuti o implorare l'aiuto di altri.

23) La scena o frase che ti è rimasta impressa: Reborn Rich

Di nuovo Reborn Rich e qui metterò papale papale la scena incriminata: [SPOILER]

Io non credo che potrò mai dimenticare il 12° episodio: la scena nell'ascensore, quando il Nonno dopo una sfuriata colossale al lead, si fa la pipì addosso e guarda il ragazzo con lo sguardo disperato è di una potenza stratosferica. Credo di aver pianto. Tornando alla scena dell'ascensore, quella è emblematica per mostrare i diversi livelli di attaccamento dei due nipoti verso il nonno: mentre il maggiore mette consapevolmente il nonno in difficoltà, mettendolo appositamente in imbarazzo, desideroso di mostrare agli altri la demenza del Nonno per il proprio tornaconto, Do Jin protegge la dignità dell'anziano, rovesciando appositamente il secchio d'acqua per nascondere la pipì del vecchio e non far capire alla donna delle pulizie lì presente, quello che era successo.[FINE SPOILER] Nonno e Nipote si ritrovano a proteggersi a vicenda cementificando un legame già stupendo e regalando allo spettatore tutta l'intensità di questa relazione ormai arrivata alle battute finali ma che è stata così incisiva e bellissima lungo tutto l'arco della serie.

Ci ho ripensato per giorni a questa scena e ancora adesso mi fa scendere la lacrimuccia e mi fa commuovere.

24) Il villain peggiore: W

Cosa c'è di peggio di un cattivo scritto male??

Uno che non esiste. e voilà

Eh già. Perché il fantastico autore di questo fumetto ha pensato bene di dare al villain un valore emotivo e non narrativo e quindi non strutturando nessuna storia attorno a lui. [SPOILER]

Il cattivo di W e poi anche del fumetto, non ha motivazioni, non ha background, non ha nulla. Semplicemente è un cartonato che sta lì per ammazzare la famiglia del lead, incastrarlo per omicidio della stessa e ciao. Adios amigos. [FINE SPOILER]

Terribile. E lo so che dovrei prendermela con lo scrittore del fumetto per aver creato sto mostro di nonsense, ma siccome si vota il "villain peggiore" e l'autore non si è impegnato manco mezzo secondo per crearlo, il voto della vergogna se lo prende lui.

25) Una bromance spettacolare: Tale Of The Nine Tailed

Qui voto per il fratelli volpe. Lee Rang e Lee Yeon lungo tutte le due stagioni hanno un rapporto molto strano: Il minore è legatissimo al fratello - quasi ossessivo - ama suo fratello ma lo risente per averlo abbandonato. Vorrebbe passare del tempo con lui ma ha sempre il terrore di affezionarsi e poi soffrire nel caso che Yeon [SPOILER[ lo abbandoni di nuovo. [FINE SPOILER]

D'altra parte Yeon adora il fratellino ma vorrebbe vivere una vita sua, stare con la ragazza che ama e vorrebbe che anche Rang trovasse una sua strada che sia a prescindere dalla vita di Yeon.

Nella prima stagione tra i due fratelli c'è maretta e una dinamica conflittuale ma che allo stesso tempo è amorevole. Nella seconda, le cose vanno ancora meglio ed i due fratelli finalmente si riappacificano e trovano ognuno la propria strada.

Una bromance carina, profonda e divertente che rivedo sempre volentieri.

Back From The Brink per il drama Wuxia, One Piece per il drama tratto da manga e Moving per aver vinto il Grand Bell Awards nella categoria Miglior Serie. oltre ad aver vinto una fraccata di altri premi.

La sfida di quest'anno è di vedersi un drama/film co-prodotto o con attori (principali) di due o più paesi, entro la fine del 2024. Dite che è fattibile? XD

Qui ho barato. Onestamente non avevo idea di quale drama vedermi con queste caratteristiche...ma poi leggendo la risposta al quiz di @lisia81 mi sono illuminata: One Piece.
