Several people asked how to use this userscript on mobile, and also how to modify it for darkmode, so I will do my best to explain!
Installing Userscripts on Mobile
FIRST: Make sure you are using a mobile web browser which supports installing extensions or supports userscripts. I use Firefox for Android, so that's what these directions will be for, but there are a few other options that might work if you are on iOS or elsewhere.
In Firefox for Android, open the options menu > Add-ons, and select the Add-ons Manager. In the list of recommended Add-ons, find Tampermonkey and install/enable it.
Go back to the Add-ons menu and tap Tampermonkey. You can use Tampermonkey's search function to find the userscript, or simply go to the userscript's GreasyFork link and install it from there.
Repeat with any other userscripts you'd like to install! Searching "AO3" on GreasyFork can turn up some fun options, and AO3 themselves link to a few in this guide.
â
The userscript is now installed! You can go on and use the script on AO3 now as OP described. Everything after this is just optional tweaks, mostly cosmetic.
Further tweaks...
Note: All of the tweaks below also work for desktop.
Optional: Modify AO3 Floating Comment Box for Darkmode
By default, the background of the input text box is white and doesn't change with your browser/phone settings. Fortunately, a quick edit fixes this. (Note: you can also do this same kind of edit if you use this userscript in a computer browser. The code change is the same.)
Open the Tampermonkey add-on and navigate to settings.
Select the Installed Userscripts tag, then tap the "Edit" button on AO3 Floating Comment Box (the little pencil and paper)
This will open the code editor. It might look like a bunch of nonsense unless you're already familiar with JavaScript/userscripts, but don't be intimidated: we're just finding one word and changing it!
At the top of the editor, click Find. Search for white
You will see the following chunk of code:
".float-box": { "min-height": "70%", "max-width": "98%", "background-color": "white" },
replace white with 333 (i.e., changing the color of the background of the text box from white to a dark grey). Make sure you don't accidentally alter any of the punctuation!
-> if you want it to be a different color than the one I picked, you can use an HTML Color Picker or names list to get the hexadecimal code or official name for the color you want. (Don't include the #)
Close the Find dialogue, then at the top, select File > Save. All done!
In your browser, open a works page on AO3 and open the floating comment box to check that the result was what you wanted.
Other Optional Tweaks
---- FOR AUTHORS: Ensure that the script doesn't try to modify the New Works page:
Toward the top of the script, in the header/settings section, immediately below the //include line, add:
// @exclude *://archiveofourown.org/works/new
----- Add the AO3 logo as an icon for the script:
Toward the top of the script, in the header/settings section, immediately above the // @namespace line, add:
// @icon https://archiveofourown.org/favicon.ico
---- Make the text box take up less vertical room on your screen:
under const allStyles, in the float-div section, change "height = 30%" to "height = 20%"
(you can also play around with these numbers to tweak it to your preferences)
Mentions for the folks who @-ed me: @inahc3 @harleyqueerner @sunset-diamond @fuctacles
Hope this helps!
(edited for clarity 2023-11-03)
In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.
I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!
From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!
I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.
The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.
(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)
If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.
The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.
insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box
add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box
delete -> self explanatory
on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic
The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.
Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.

Nooooooo the AO3 floating comment box script stopped working for me :/ after I had to reinstall Chrome, it seems like it just...doesn't work anymore. It's showing up as enabled in the Tampermonkey extension when I check it on an AO3 page, but the button itself is just not there. I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling the script tomorrow, since I'm tired and need to sleep, but hopefully I can get it back. It's been SO SO SO helpful and I'd be really sad if I couldn't use it anymore. Fingers crossed.

A QUICK GUIDE TO AO3 CUSTOMIZATION FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT CODING
ft adding pink to everything and my secret to writing long comments
note: I originally posted this to twt but if that place burns in a fiery pit I spent too long on this for it to disappear, so I'm putting it here too :)
so many people know way more about this than I do, but this is a step-by-step walkthrough of the changes *I've* made, and hopefully it works as an introduction people can build from for whatever they'd like to do
There are a lot of images in this post! (click to enlarge)
to start, AO3 skins
site skins change how the AO3 website appears when logged in (even on mobile), mine is pink and blue!
I'll have my skin turned off throughout the post so the guides appear as they will for you
to create, edit, and view skins, go to the "skins" tab from the left-hand menu. you can also view public site skins from there or from the button in the preferences.
public site skins are made by other users. i would really encourage previewing and exploring them to become familiar with the possibilities (maybe you just want to use one of them and now you're done!)
to create your own skin
on the skins page, click "create site skin"
if you don't know CSS (same), use the wizard! clicking on the "?" will give more information about each option
I only use the colours section you'll see a link right there for hex codes I use pink as a header colour and bue for accent but lots of people change the background colour and that looks really cool!
submit
The next step (optional!!!) is to add CSS from a public skin to your own. I use "ByLine" by Branch. this separates the tag categories and adds spacing to make them easier to read.
here is a before and after using the fic "Landslide" by @roosterbruiser as an example
to see the CSS of a skin, click the title
copy all the text below the CSS heading
in the skin creator/editor press the custom CSS option and paste all the text into the CSS box
you can have both wizard and custom CSS settings, in mine you can see the header and accent colours as well as the CSS
level up: USERSCRIPTS
userscripts are small pieces of code that modify a website. for AO3, this may involve adding shortcuts and buttons or even advanced tagging functions (computer people, I'm so sorry if this is wrong, I'm trying). I use Greasy Fork and Tampermonkey.
This is how I write long and formatted comments!
Greasy Fork is an archive of userscripts and Tampermonkey is a browser extension and userscript manager. You don't need to use these two in particular. please use your common sense when downloading anything or adding permissions to your browser.
Greasy Fork guide on installing scripts
Install Tampermonkey on Chrome
there are TONS of user scripts for AO3. This is another good opportunity to explore all the possibilities. there are lots of more complicated options I haven't explored.
scripts for AO3
i use this floaty review box
and this comment formatting
EDIT: if you use chrome you might need to turn on developer mode in your chrome extension manager - you can google "tampermonkey developer mode" and it should explain that :)
to install (once you have Tampermonkey installed):
open the script you want in Greasy Fork and press install
Tampermonkey will open, press install again
clicking the Tampermonkey extension will let you toggle scripts on and off, and opening the dashboard will let you view, edit, and delete scripts
i find i can only have a few turned on at a time before they cancel each other out, but that depends on which ones you're using and someone more savvy might be able to fix that
how to use the floaty review box - write more comments!
there will now be a "floaty review box" button at the top of the work, it will open a floating text box you can move anywhere on the page. highlighting any text and pressing the insert button will paste the text with italics into the box
anything you type in the review box will appear in your comment at the bottom of the page!
if you have also installed the comment formatting script, you'll be able to highlight any text in your comment and use the new buttons above the comment box to format it
thats all ive got! Hopefully this is a good starting point to get familiar with some of the terms and basics for skins and scripts <3
if you want some inspo for how to comment on fics i made a whole fic rec list on twitter based on comments I've left, it's here. i have a masterlist of recs there mostly for darklina/reylo and similar ships.
the tag #reading with ru has cod recs and me talking about books
:)

Comment resources
Receiving comments means so much to fic authors so weâd love to encourage people to leave more. But we appreciate that leaving comments can be a bit daunting or draining, especially on days when we are tired or already stressed. So here are a few resources to hopefully encourage us all to leave more and to make doing so easier.
Archive of Our Own floating comment boxes
There are a couple of versions of these out there and they can be helpful. They are browser extensions that allow you to keep the comment box on the screen whenever you like so that you can easily comment as you read, rather than getting to the end and panicking about what to say.
Here are two different versions:
AO3 Floating Comment Box by ScriptMouse
Floaty Review Box by ravenel â I use this one and think itâs great - Squid đ
Feed The Fandom Fest
Have you heard of the @feedthefandomfest bingo cards? Because if youâre participating in these, maybe one of the recs on this blog could be the perfect way to tick off a square on these cards. Or, if youâve not started one yet, why not pick one to encourage yourself to comment more and have some fun while doing so?
Here are the different cards:
Original Card
For Beginners
Fluff Edition
Angst Edition
Smut Edition
Old Fic Edition
Billy Hargrove Edition
Or put your own together!
Iâd also just recommend having a look through the Feed The Fandom Fest blog in general, itâs such a wonderful resource đ
Additional AO3 Kudos
Hereâs some images of additional kudos for when youâre longing to mash that button again but all it greets you with is that mocking red smiley face. These are complete with the html to easily put them in!
AO3 Random Nice Comments
This browser extension will give you a short, nice comment from a list at the press of a button. It may be useful for beginner commenters who want to say something nice but are unsure what.
Comment prompts
If you want to craft your own comments but are unsure what to say, hereâs a few starting points:
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think back on the fic? Iâm sure the author would love to know
Who was your favourite character in the fic?Â
Where are you reading the fic?
Speculate on what could happen after the end of the fic
How did you react emotionally? Did you laugh? Cry? Smile? Scream?
Or thereâs the simple but ever loved:
Keyboard smash
String of emojis
âLoved this!â
Hereâs some more lists of prompts:
Good and easy comment ideas by ao3-shenanigans
Some more easy comment suggestions by ao3-shenanigans
Unhinged fic comment ideas by magpie-murderÂ
Our comment stickers
Hereâs a few stickers we made to use in place of comments if you want to leave something but still donât know what to type out yourself:
html for the above, in order:
<img src="https://i.postimg.cc/yYRJxJ8C/readforbookclub-sticker.png" alt="sticker with stars and text reading: I READ THIS FIC FOR FANFIC BOOK CLUB AND LOVED IT" width=45% />

If you aren't using the AO3 Enhancements extension, I really really REALLY recommend it!!! My favorite features:
floating comment box for live reactionsâkeysmash in real time!
autosaving comments in the browserânever lose a comment to any kind of outage/accidental quittage again!
estimated reading timeâperfect for picking reads for your lunch break!*
* I personally recommend rounding down your wpm so you already have built-in time for leaving comments! (e.g. my actual reading speed is 800wpm, and I set it to 600 wpm on AO3.)
Setting up AO3 Enhancements on a mobile browser
Hey there! Do you:
read fic primarily on your phone?
feel tired of having to punch in a lot of filter tags every time you browse for fics?
have an android device?
then I might be able to help you make fandom a cozier place! (and hopefully nip future drama in the bud, lol)
With this post, I'm gonna guide you through the process of installing the AO3 Enhancements browser extension, normally only available on desktop, on your mobile device. It works a charm, and I've been using it for months, and it's made the Undertale tag navigable again despite my utter disinterest in AU content.
Here's an archived version of the full post in case my dumbass accidentally deletes it for some reason
Let's get started!
UPDATE: For IOS users! You can download the browser app "Orion" which allows firefox extensions! No need to do this procedure, just install it and download the extension as you normally would from Firefox Add-ons
1) Download Firefox Nightly.
For those who are hearing of it for the first time, Firefox Nightly is a separate Firefox browser made specifically for developers. The name itself is due to the fact that it's patched and updated on a daily (er, nightly) basis. This makes it more prone to crashing and issues than the standard Firefox app, but I've switched over to nightly as my main browser months ago now, and if I ever encounter a problem, I just... download the latest update and I'm good to go.
What's crucial about Nightly, however, is that it gives the user access to various additional features. One of them being desktop extensions on mobile, which is what we're here for.
Here's the Google Play link.
2) Make a Firefox Account
This will be necessary to install the extension later
Once you've done that, go to the Firefox add-ons website and log into your account in the upper right (where it says "Biscia" in the screenshot below). Click on "View My Collections"
3) Making an add-on collection
Since browser extensions are technically blocked from being directly installed by the browser, Nightly offers a workaround.
Create a collection, and give it a name without spaces to avoid errors.
4) Adding the extension
Here is the link to ao3 enhancements (if it's not showing up, try reloading the page in desktop mode). Scroll down until you see the option "Add to a collection" and select the one you just created.
You can do it with any extension! Go nuts. There's lots of good stuff out there. Just remember that it's not guaranteed every one of them will work, since they aren't intended to be used on a mobile device.
5) Activating debug mode.
In your browser, tap the little sandwich menu in the bottom right, scroll down and click Settings. It should be under "Save to Collection".
Scroll down even more until you reach the "About" section, and click on "About Firefox Nightly"
Click on the firefox logo 5 times, and it should be done.
6) Activating your add-ons
Go to "View my profile" as seen in the screenshot in step 2. At the end of the link, there should be a string of numbers. Copy it.
After this, go back to the browser settings again, scroll down until you reach the add ons section and click on "custom add on collection". Paste the numbers you copied from your profile where it says "User ID", and the name of your collection EXACTLY as it appears in the link, where it says "Collection name". Mind, it's case sensitive.
Press okay, and it should kick you out of the app. Open it again and, going in add-ons then add-ons manager, you should be able to add your extension.
ATTENTION!! If you get the error message "failed to query add-ons" you either inputted the wrong user id or the wrong collection name
To avoid this type of issue, don't name your collection something that has spaces or punctuation in it, as it might mess with the link formatting.
7) Setting up your AO3 enhancements filters
If everything's worked out fine, you should be able to visit ao3 and see a new drop-down window.
Click on it, click on option, and it should open up a new window with all the settings available! Tweak them to your heart's content. Though mind, the background tag wrangling done by the ao3 volunteers doesn't work with this extension, so the extension is going to hide only the works tagged EXACTLY what you filtered. Character for character. This makes things a bit tricky when people aren't consistent with their tagging, but if it proves to be enough of a problem, you can just filter out the author name in full and be done with it.
You can choose to hide the fic behind a "show" button, or make it not show up at all. If you choose the latter option, and you blocked a tag that has lots of fics, it might look like certain pages of searches are almost empty, since all the fics were hidden.
And that's it! I sincerely hope this helps people avoid their triggers and other topics that make them uncomfortable. No more excuses fellas. You find a tag you haven't filtered yet? You add it to the list and move on. Easy peasy.
Hope I haven't missed anything. Let me know if you need any help!
#ao3#psa#for anyone who struggles with leaving comments#the floating comment box is GREAT#you can insert a bit of the text and say âi like thisâ and BOOM!#amazing comment for the author :)#do that a bunch of times?#quickly become a favorite reader!

Comment Bingo
Very simple rules: connect 5 squares in a line by completing the task in each square
Very simple goals: encourage readers to comment on fics; encourage fandom writers to KEEP WRITING
STEPS:
Download Bingo Card HERE (png) or HERE (jpg) or HERE (pdf)
Complete the tasks on the card, marking off each as you go, until you've completed 5 in a line (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal; NO double-dipping; kudos âĽď¸ is a free space)
REBLOG/POST your winning card (or list your filled squares) and tag @feedthefandomfest! Glory in your victory.
PROPOSED REWARD:
Bingo Badge!
@ihni and I thought it'd be fun to receive something commemorating a win (who gets bingo first isn't the pointâALL BINGOS are wins), in which case, there could be different tiers of achievement:
Bingo Badge (one line filled)
Double Bingo Badge (two lines filled)
ELITE Bingo Badge?? (ALL squares filledâfor the ambitious, or at least for @ihni who will prob eat this card for breakfast)
I can make a badge with my limited Canva skills, but we thought it'd be cool if fandom artists came up with different designs? So if any artists wanna contribute, let me know.
If enough people are into this, I'm open to planning a more organized event, but figured this would be fun to try out for now.
no pressure, just tagging anyone who seemed interested: @sanguine-tenshi, @adelacreations, @redfeathered, @heartbreak-sandwich, @magniloquent-raven, @sepulchralsmile, @inquisitiveadventuress, @mrprettywhenhecries, @1jet2unknown, @iravenish, @six-demon-bag, @billyharringson, @suometar, @tciddaemina, @phoenix-burns-wildly, @lafey, @doctor-of-war-and-heartache, @supercomplicatedperson, @g-arya, @hesitantsorrows, @soap-lady, @fan-written, @we-want-mini-mini, @komatsuna-yuki, @calico-kiwi, @pinkittwice, @puppylove24680, @starcourtjesus
P.S. To facilitate unhinged liveblog comments, install the AO3 Floating Comment Box!
if you have any questions/concerns/suggestions, let me know! đ

luvnotes ⥠an AO3 comment notepad
sharing another silly-but-useful thing i made for myself â a handy lil comment notepad for AO3!
hangs out inside your ao3 tab right next to the fic text, always ready to receive your dazzling remarks
saves your draft comments locally in browser storage
minimizes to a small icon when not in use (& shows a lil badge if you started writing a comment for the work you're currently reading)
quickly add blockquotes and text formatting (and preview the html!)
pastes into the comment box when you're ready to roll!
i also added a bonus feature that will hide that obnoxious fundraising banner that won't go away right now đ
if you've ever seen the "Floating Comment Box" script, it's a gently beefed up version of that.
you can grab it here; tested on firefox, opera, and chrome (desktop only) â let me know if you try it out in a different browser!
you'll need to have the Tampermonkey or similar extension installed first :3 instructions for doing that in various browsers is here.
** note: if you didn't have Tampermonkey installed, you might need to enable "developer mode" in chrome://extensions and restart your browser before it'll work!
happy commenting~ feel free to drop me a note if something's borked, feature requests etc

Do yourself a favour and get:
It puts a little bubble in the top left of your ao3 window which you can click at any point in the fic to open this:
You can select text from the fic, click "insert selection" and it will put it into the box (automatically putting it in italics).
When you're ready to comment, click "add to comment box" and then you can add whatever you like to the comment.
The trick to leaving amazing comments on fanfic (if youâre nervous to comment/have nothing to say)
Sometimes, I see people who want to comment on fics, but are shy, nervous, or just donât think they have anything to say. So, hereâs the trick to low-effort but amazing comments:
- copy-paste your favourite line from the fic into your comment.
- add an emoji showing how it made you feel, or write what it made you think.
- Thatâs it. Thatâs the entire comment.
âBut thatâs so low-effort, wonât that disappoint the author?â Firstly: no, authors in general love any positive feedback. English teachers arenât grading your comments. Authors will love that you bothered to say anything no matter what you say, so long as it isnât mean. Thereâs no situation where this is a concern.
Secondly: authors love this kind of comment. Itâs my favourite. It demonstrates that you engaged with the text, which s always super flattering, and additionally provides extremely useful data. We want to know what lines stood out to you the most, to be worth commenting on! We want to know what they made you feel or think! Again, this isnât an English essay; pasting your favourite joke and attaching a laughing emoji is enough! This kind of data helps us improve as writers and demonstrates that our work made somebody think or feel something. Itâs great.
So thereâs the tip. If you want to comment, but have nothing to say, copy-paste your favourite line and add a reaction. Works every time.
#ao3#floating comment box#i often see a line and think#i must comment on that when i finish#this makes the process so smooth

A Birthday to Remember
Pairing: Ari Levinson x Female Reader
Word Count: 1665
Summary: Ari makes sure you have a birthday to remember.
Warnings: Fluff, Smut, P in V, Oral Fem, Spanking, Size kink Ari is 6â4Â
A/N: This is also self-indulgent for my birthday today.
A/N 2: Thank you to my beta readers @lfnr-blog-blog-blog & @late-to-the-party-81. Thank you @late-to-the-party-81 for my header.
Please Read, Reblog, & Comment. It lets me know you like my work. đđ
I do NOT consent to translating or reposting my work on any social media platform, app, or third-party site or run through AI. If you see my work anywhere besides my personal Tumblr & AO3 accounts, it has been stolen.

Today is your birthday and Ari has everything planned for you when you walk in the house. You can smell your favorite meal being cooked by your husband as you take your shoes off. Walking into the kitchen Ari turns around to hug you. His hugs are always satisfying because of the way he wraps you in his arms and softly squeezes you.
âHappy birthday, sweetheart. I hope youâre hungry âcause dinner is almost done. Plus I went to your favorite bakery and bought the cake you love.â
You giggle as he lets you go. âAri youâre the best in the world doing all this for me.â
He grins at you, âbut wait, thereâs more.âÂ
Leading you to the dining room you see a dozen roses in a vase in the middle of the table. There were also some balloons just floating around and a small gift box at your place-setting.Â
âCan I open my gift?â You ask as you turn around and give him doe eyes.
The kitchen timer goes off and Ari looks over his shoulder then back at you. âLet me grab this first, yeah?â
Ari jogs to the kitchen and takes your dinner out of the oven. Once it is sitting on the oven top he walks back into the dining room. He watches you for a moment before clearing his throat to get your attention.Â
You turn around with the box in your hand and smile at him.
âGo ahead and open it.â
You donât need any further encouragement and carefully open the box. Inside is a set of diamond earrings and you gasp at how beautiful they are. The last pair you had you lost one of them, which was devastating as they were an anniversary gift.Â
âAri th-this is so thoughtful of you. I canât believe you remembered I needed a new pair.â
âWell I knew you were upset over the lost earring, so I wanted to get you a new pair.â
You skip over to Ari and hug him tightly. Standing on your tippy toes you kiss your 6â4 husband who scoops you in his arms and deepens the kiss. Pulling apart after a minute you take a deep breath in.Â
âNow letâs go eat,â you state as you head toward the kitchen.
The meal Ari made is absolutely delicious. The flavors are mind-blowing and it made you remember why this is your favorite dish.
Ari stands up and grabs the dirty dishes. âWhy donât you go take a bath while I take care of cleaning up the kitchen.â
âAre you sure? I could help.â
âNo sweetheart you leave it to me. Go relax for a while, Iâll be up in a little bit.âÂ
He places the dishes next to the sink and turns to kiss your forehead. As you turn to leave, he swats at your butt and you squeal.
âThatâs one!â He yells after you as you run up the stairs to the master suite.Â
Walking into the bathroom you take your clothes off, putting them into the hamper. You start running the water until itâs the right temperature. Then you add a lavender bath bomb to the water. Once the claw foot tub is filled you climb in and sink into the warmth.
You hum as the warmth envelops you and you lay there in peace. Time passes fast because it seems only two minutes before Ari appears in the bathroom dressed in shorts but with no shirt on. His chest is covered in hair and that beard of his makes you rub your legs together.
Ari leans down and touches the cooling water. âWhy donât we get you warmed up and ready for dessert.âÂ
Oh, you know he isnât talking about your cake downstairs as he licks his lips. You stand up and Ari wraps you in a big fluffy towel as he helps you out and drains the tub.Â
You dry off quickly and hang your towel up before heading to the bedroom. You walk seductively to the bed, a swing in your hips, and slowly climb up on top.Â
The whole time Ari is watching you like a lion stalking its prey. The bulge in his shorts is visible and you watch as he slides them down, revealing his large thick cock.Â
This time itâs you licking your lips and crooking a finger for him to come to you. Slowly, Ari crawls onto the bed and over you. His dark blue eyes are filled with lust and you know he is going to take care of you.
He leans down to kiss your lips. The kiss starts slow and sensual, then builds into a dominant frenzy. He pulls back from kissing you and you try to catch your breath. Ari transfers his attention to your neck and that one spot that has you groaning for him.
Making his way down your neck, he heads to your chest where he sucks one of your nipples into his mouth. His left-hand squeezes your other breast and rolls that nipple until it hardens into a pebble. He then switches sides so that each breast gets the same attention.
You pant out over and over as you feel your arousal wet your petals between your legs.Â
âAri, please,â you beg as he kisses his way down your body until he reaches where you need him most.Â
âNo need to beg tonight sweetheart, Iâm all yours. Now let me get a taste of you.â
You spread your legs wide enough for him to fit between, but he tosses them over his shoulders so he can pull you close to his mouth. His tongue licks a long stripe down your wet pussy. He makes a second pass just as slowly, but this time he teases your clit with his tongue.Â
Ari begins to eat you out like a man starved. Every dip of his tongue into your pussy has you moaning. Every suckle to your clit has you begging for more. Then Ari presses two of his thick fingers inside your pussy and starts fucking you with them. Your hands find purchase in his hair and you start moaning his name like a prayer.Â
He slows his fingers down and curls them just right so heâs hitting your sweet spot. He sucks on your clit while his fingers work you higher and higher until you finally fall off that edge screaming his name.
Your breathing is ragged as you gasp for air. Gosh, this man was going to be your undoing one day. You canât believe he is all yours.Â
Ari smiles warmly up at you and chuckles. âDonât get too comfortable, I'm far from done with you tonight.â
Quickly he rolls you onto your stomach and pulls your hips up so youâre on all fours. His thick cock rubs through your arousal getting him ready for your pussy. A moment later he places the tip at your entrance and starts to push into your pussy. You both moan and groan in unison as he takes you inch by inch. You feel the normal burn as he stretches you in all the right places. When he finally bottoms out you sigh in relief.Â
Ari starts to pull out and then thrusts back into you. His hands grip your hips as he starts fucking you in earnest. He slaps your butt on a particularly hard thrust and groans out, âtwo!â Every few thrusts he pants out a new number and smacks your ass.
âOhmygod, Ari! Faster please.â You moan out quickly,
âThatâs a good girl. Take everything I give to you.â Ari growls out as his speed picks up.
All you can hear in the room is skin slapping against skin and you pleading for more.
Ari spanks you again and calls out, âThirty! God-damn baby, how old are you again?â
âIf you spank me anymore Iâll be offended,â you call out over your shoulder.
Ari chuckles as his left-hand moves between your legs and starts rubbing your clit. A few more circles around your it, plus a hard thrust, has you squirting your release all over his cock.Â
Ari is not far behind you as he chases his release and he cums deep inside you with a shout. After a few sloppy thrusts, he pulls out of you and you collapse on the bed. He sits back on his haunches for a minute to catch his breath. When he can finally breathe normally again, he goes to the bathroom and grabs a towel. He first cleans himself off then returns to the bedroom to clean you up. He then throws the towel in the hamper and crawls into bed next to you.Â
You roll over and curl up next to his body, humming in contentment as you wrap yourself around him.
âWas this just what you needed for your birthday?â Ari asks.
âThis was perfect. But do you know whatâs missing?â
Ari looks at you confused.
âCake!â You exclaimed excitedly.Â
Ari starts to chuckle at you over how excited you are over cake. âWe should go have a piece, sweetheart. Itâs your day and you get what you want.â
âGood, because I want to eat cake and then to ride you so hard your soul will leave your body.â
âWell letâs go get you fueled up, so we can get back to bed and burn off some calories.â
âCalories donât count on your birthday,â you giggle as you go to the dresser and pull out one of his large t-shirts. âNow letâs go. Iâm hungry.â
Ari gets out of bed and pulls his shorts back on. He follows you down the stairs and gets the cake ready with candles. Once he lights them he starts to sing for you and you canât help but tear up. This is all you wanted for your birthday â a relaxing evening with your husband. As you blow out your candles you wish to continue to be this happy forever with Ari.

How Do You Write a Long/In Depth Fic Comment?
First of all, let me say-- there's no 'wrong' way to write a fic comment (unless you are being rude or offering unsolicited concrit). Short comments are good, emojis are good-- all of it's good! Don't take me making this explainer to mean you have to write long, analytical comments. Express yourself however you want! Authors love hearing about how much you liked their work no matter how you choose to tell them.
This is meant to be a guide for people who want to do this, but don't really know how, because they find it difficult to express themselves, or don't know what authors like to hear. If that's you, let's continue below the cut!
EDIT: Also, here's a post by bourbon-ontherocks about how to add a floating comment box to AO3, in case you want to grab quotations you like as you go! Thank you @flowersforthemachines for finding it <3
Why should you do this?
because it's fun!
because you really like someone's work!
because it's motivating for an author, and can sometimes inspire them to post more, or re-post old stuff!
because it's usually a great conversation starter! Some of my best fandom friends have been made in comment threads on AO3!
What do authors want to hear about in long comments?
Many things, but primarily:
What you liked about their work
Why you liked it
You can show them what you liked by quoting their work back at them (I find it useful to put quoted text in an indented section; the html code for this is <blockquote>text</blockquote>), talking generally about which events or characters you enjoyed most, or, if you have thoughts about it, what you liked about the structural parts of their work-- i.e. plot, pacing, sentence structure, etc.
As for telling them why you liked something, getting into emotional reactions is great for this-- you can tell them where you laughed, or cried, or where you felt moved by something they said. If you found the way they had the characters talk or think realistic or relatable, tell them that! If you want to, authors love hearing that people noticed them foreshadowing events, or planting clues within the text.
You can also tell them where you were when you read it, or your overall experience -- did you read at 3 am? Do you have school or work tomorrow, but you just had to finish reading? Did you read their fic in the club? Tell them! And if you're feeling especially brave or you want to share, feel free to tell authors how or why you related to the text. If it makes you uncomfortable, don't worry about it, but those are some of my favorite comments to reread.
How do I comment on specific parts/lines of a fic?
Okay, a demonstration! I am going to pretend to analyze my own work here, for convenience:
He dreams of it, ceaselessly. It seems to echo throughout his days; he cannot let his mind drift too far, lest he fall back into it. He has to cling to this world, like a drowning man to a raft, though it rarely feels worth the effort.
Okay, so let's pretend I read this section and I really liked it. If you want to talk about that, stop and consider what about it was special, for you. Maybe I thought that the third sentence really captured what it felt like to be depressed, or the second reminded me of something that happened in my own life. I might say:
"I really loved this part! I found the way you wrote about [the character's] feelings in this paragraph so relatable; I think you captured exactly what it feels like to feel consistently hopeless."
You can also take a look at the way the author has written the sentences-- try reading them out loud. If I think the last line has a nice sound, I might say something like:
"I liked how you chose to structure the last sentence! The grammar you used gave it a really nice combination of phrases and stops. I loved how it sounded, and the rhythm the punctuation created."
Another thing you could talk about was how the sentence or paragraph made you feel about the character. If that section made me feel particularly sorry for them, or if this was the point in the story where I connected strongly with them, I might say:
I think this part worked really well to demonstrate how [character] felt! You communicated the pain they were in really effectively, and I was very connected to them, during this part.
You can also just express your excitement! I love great writing, and sometimes I just keysmash, or put a million exclamation points, or say AHHHHHHH!!!
Okay, that's all the advice I have for writing long comments, for now! If you have any questions, or would like to talk about similar things with me, please feel free to ask or DM me at any time! Thanks for reading, and happy commenting!

Some Resources To Help With Commenting
If you have ever gotten a comment full of pull-quotes, you know it is a joy to get as an author. You get to know exactly which parts of a fic stood out to someone! Which lines made them keysmash or delve into character or made it all click! Amazing!
If you've ever tried to write one yourself, you know that scrolling to the bottom of the screen to get to the comment box again and again is an exercise in frustration only matched by repeatedly closing your hand in a door while the fire alarm goes off. So. Here are some resources to help with that!
(Note: The high-tech versions below are for Ao3, but they replicate functionality Wattpad already has built inâ you can comment line by line on that site! The low-tech resource linked below should work for any site that allows you to leave comments.)
The High Tech:
There is an amazing use script written by @ravenel which gives you a comment box that floats on your screen, which is detailed below.
It can be intimidating to install a use script, so @bourbon-ontherocks wrote a tutorial about it here:
For people who use Ao3 site skins, here's the code to make an Ao3 site skin and add a bookmarklet that turns having your comment box at the bottom of the screen on and off. Bonus: this will also work on mobile!
Here is an alternate Ao3 comment box that lets you open a box, type your commentary in the moment, and then send it down to the comment box at the bottom of the page, and then close it again! Includes an update by @aidaronan which was designed to work on mac and firefox!
The Low Tech:
Honestly I have been meaning to install one of these cool scripts, but I keep putting off installing them, so I just use my notes app. I open up a new note, and on my computer I put it behind my browser window so I can click to it, and on my phone I just keep it so that I can swipe across apps. So Then I copy-paste the quotes I want, dump them in the notes app, and put my commentary below! Simple, fast, and fantastic for when you are stuck on the bus for an hour.
So what do you comment?
What kind of commentary, you ask? I will be honest, a lot of the time the commentary is me going OH NO or keysmashing after lines. And that's also okay! I have been told so by authors before!
I know I have personally gotten comments where commenters did delicate character analysis after lines and those comments are in my treasured forever box, and I also have comments where someone went OH NO OH NO AOHNFDIOFNDISJFODISJIDJSIOFD YOU DIDN"T AUTHOR NO and I also hold them dear to my heart all the same. The author gets to know the reaction a work got from their reader! And that's fantastic!
The point of the pull quotes comment is showing the impact a work is having on you as you go through the work, section by section, and sometimes that's a digression about how this line made you think about the characters relationship and how he DESERVES THIS HAPPINESS, and sometimes it's responding to a heartbreaking line with twenty weeping emoji. The impact of opening up a comment email and seeing 10 lines of quotes of your own work will hit whether you have thoughtful commentary or you are rolling yourself into a little ball like an octopus and tumbling across the screen (ordinary standard unhinged comment I have left on the works of writers who make me feel Like That).
Go forth! Comment in detail! Let the authors know which lines made you go "oh no" out line in the kitchen as you made soup! Let them know about callbacks that you just realized and now you figured out the whole mystery! Let them know about how this one bit was so cute you had to step away from the computer for a sec! Let them know what you thought!

I came across that silm nobel prize argument you mentioned in yr tag. Iâm not asking about the ship war stuff, I know you donât do ship stuff but only if you donât mind, I was interested in hearing yr thoughts on the accessibility stuff they were talking abt, like what makes a fanfic acessible. I was thinking of your post on making your AU acessible for a fanfic reader, and it made me think that the nobel prize OP was using the word inacessible in a wrong way?
I assume this refers to that âSilm writers are inaccessible & elitist compared to TROP writers, nobody wants to write an essay about the fanfic they read, flower shop AUs have more âreal human emotionâ than thematically dense fic, itâs AO3 not the Nobel Prize longlistâ nonsense unless thereâs another one floating about in which case jesus fucking christ lol
Itâs an interesting one lol⌠I donât follow the page or post about the show so I didnât see it, but a bunch of people have DMed it to me across the last couple weeks, since while the OP was speaking in general or collective terms, I tick a few of their shitlist boxes in a rather obvious way lol. Iâve said variations of this across said DMs and other writers may have a different opinion but essentially:
I personally donât treat âaccessibilityâ as a concern when it comes to fanfic, unless weâre talking disability accommodations like alt-text or not using emojis, or tagging for triggers. âMust be enjoyable for people who like a certain style of writingâ is not an accessibility requirement, itâs your Goodreads wishlist. I do not care about what you want Santa to bring you. Perhaps itâs because Iâve not been in fandom long enough but I genuinely cannot think of a response aside from âget a fucking grip lolâ.
And re your question about my AU, what I meant there by adapting the story for a fanfic audience was that I toploaded it with regional context and diaspora eyes before getting into the actual narrative in a way I wouldnât have done if (god forbid) I wrote it as a novel. That isnât a comment on style or theme, itâs literally just because Iâd expect that someone walking into a bookshop, picking up, and paying for a book about a Marxist madhouse in North Kerala full of intertextual elements so thinly veiled as to be practically wrapped in clingfilm, would be at least vaguely familiar with the genre and context.
This is something I would not assume of people scrolling through AO3, because thereâs no reason to expect that, hence providing extra info, being conscious as to what I canât presume people already know, putting some extra elbow grease into âworld buildingâ, translating within the text itself, answering questions about regional/historical context etc⌠itâs not an accessibility measure, Iâd say itâs closer to providing an appendix/glossary.
I donât know, like imo itâs kind of ridiculous to sit around shitting on people for writing narratives more complex than what you personally like, but thatâs your space, preference and prerogative⌠go ham and shit away, it is your toilet, not mine.
My irritation is mostly with the language of âaccessibilityâ and âelitismâ and trying to make it sound like a societal ill by using such buzzwords. Yes, there may well be elitism or lorebros or whatever in a general fandom sense, but I donât know what fanfic has to do with that.
The Silmarillion probably does have a higher concentration of whatever they mean by Nobel Prize fics but thatâs not exactly due to some oppressive feudal fandom hierarchy, itâs literally just because the fanbase skews older and the source text is conducive to a certain style of literary writing being relatively popular⌠itâs not some big injustice, itâs pretty normal, generally speaking, for fanworks to reflect the style and tone of the source text regardless of how transformative they are, simply because the one thing most people in any given fandom share is their enjoyment of said source text.
I like to think of myself as being well read but there are tons of books âinaccessibleâ to me beyond reading preferences. When I was at university I worked on regional literature but I always specified Malayalam rather than âSouth Indiaâ even though the college used the latter as a tag, because I canât read Tamil or Kannada etcâthat doesnât mean those languages are inaccessible languages. Oneâs experience as an individual is not a benchmark for something already as subjective as accessibility. Iâm not exactly going to call the Dance Mums fanbase elitist gatekeepers for writing fanfiction just because Iâve never seen an episode of the show.
Also not to be an insufferable pedant but like⌠if someone wants to use âpublishable standardâ as a negative term, they should probably look up what it means. Publishable standard just means that a work is fit for publication, itâs not meant to be a comment on genre, style or content. The Cat in the Hat is of publishable quality but that doesnât mean Dr. Seuss should win the Booker.
Finally, I know the OP was speaking in general and refers to a âgroupâ of writers but speaking for myself, lâm sorry I simply cannot see how on earth a style of writing can make someone elitist: I donât deny Iâve spent years with the academic silver spoon up my ass, I have openly acknowledged it on multiple occasions both joking and otherwise, and also do not deny that comes across in the way I write.
However, my blog is 80% pure shitposting. My AO3 page isnât required reading. You do not have to enjoy my writing style in order to interact with me, you are allowed to find it insufferable because it often is insufferable. Hell, you can even tell me you hate it, preferences are subjective. There is no gatekeeping here. Nobody is holding quiz nights about 1970s India and beating people if they get a question wrong.
TLDR: yes, yes, fanfiction doesnât have to be of a publishable standard because itâs people writing for fun yes, yes, elitism is bad, yes, yes, but that doesnât mean ânot writing a flowershop AUâ is some kind of systemic oppression against the AO3 proletariat lol.
Hope this went some way to answer your question!

Just had a small epiphany lmao
Commenting on ao3 posts is a great way to practice those dreaded "respond to 3 of your classmates" assignments.
Talk about what you liked in the fic, or what you didn't like. If a sentence jumps out at you, jot down what you liked about it or how it made you feel, or use the floating comment box extension. If you see a very bright and obvious flaw but otherwise like the fic, let the author know so they can grow (gracefully and respectfully of course. But remember you can't control how people respond to feedback!)
Doing all of this will prime you for critiquing your classmates paragraphs. And being able to critique is a great skill to have, because believe me these assignments don't go away in college.
Discussion is essential to engaging with all forms of art, even fanfiction!
Here's a link to a guide on how to install the floating comment box extension, share your thoughts!
Thank you for reading my brain fart
