Genuine question: when you read fic what is like the most important thing for you to actually click on something and decide to read it?

I got a little sad seeing on twt that I guess a popular thing is to look at the comments/kudos:word count ratio (which I personally think is bullshit) where as I focus on the tags?

Like I'll give something a chance even if it has low/no kudos or comments so long as it's not in 2nd person POV and over 800 words.

ok so WOW i was not expecting this so i am compiling all of my thoughts/theories i have gathered from the trailer

ok so for those of you who don’t know the main character is Melinoe zagreus’s sister (or half sister because sometimes Hades and Zeus are swapped around in regards to her origin) so no thanzag fan baby for us :’( sadge, but anyways, on to the story(that we know of)

so the story from what we can gather is that kronos (titan of time, father of zeus, hades & posiedon ETC, ate all of his children, was chopped up and had his chunks scattered around tartarus for said child eating) is the big bad here and he has presumably taken over the underworld after capturing hades as seen here

(and presumably all the other cthonic gods as well, but we don’t know for certain)

we know from the supergiant blog post that melinoe will be fighting through the underworld (and maybe more) but instead of going up through the underworld to the surface melinoe will instead be going down through the underworld to tartarus, which is presumably where kronos, and maybe even the other titans are waiting.

we also have a bunch of new characters such as:

moros! doom incarnate and im calling it now, he is SO gonna be a romance candidate like come ON look at this emo bitch and tell me supergiant wont let us fuck him, no idea whether he gives is boons or not.

we also have apollo, who does give is boons and seems to have a ‘daze’ debuff effect he can give you he seems to fill the same roll as the other Olympian gods so i dont have much to say about him yet

nemesis, very cool looking, probably also a romance character

and dora, who is a shade, which is interesting because before this we could only listen to shades in passing conversation, so the fact that we can talk to them is cool, and may also have something to do with melinoe apparently being the goddess of ghosts

we also see a few potential non-underworld areas, mostly the forests, but there is one in particular i want to call attention too

this one, just look at this place, water everywhere, coral growing on the floor, fishy looking enemies, even those shell shaped jugs, id bet money that this is posidons realm, or at least his house or something which makes me question just how BIG this game really is and just how much is at stake here, we know kronos captured hades, but what about his other kids?, did he capture them too?, because i don’t know why else melinoe would be in posidons realm other than to free him, or maybe to ask for his help to save hades?, IDK man im just really exited for this game and needed to write out my initial thoughts

okaaaaaay the girl loss moment! it’s gonna be so fun >:3 (<- I’m making an animation meme of kinda like Willow’s backstory/Willow and Stella’s falling out, I’ve changed it a lot since the last time I told u about it XD)

(^ idk if I told u about their original meeting but n o w Willow is a puppet/construct kinda like Schrödinger! Willow was made as more of an experiment to see if the puppets could actually behave like living cats, which is what makes her more of a ‘construct’ and less of a puppet made to be a soldier, like Schrödinger. she and Stella were childhood friends and stayed pretty close as they grew up, until Willow got into and accident and nearly got destroyed. she’s made to grow and learn but she’s still a construct and not meant to be capable of dying, so the Incident reeeeally rattled her and she started looking into ways to ‘become immortal’ or get deified to Avoid That (she doesn’t know she’s a construct/puppet at first btw), often at the cost of her health. her and Stella get into a lot of arguments over this and start kinda falling apart

(coincidentally, around this point in time Stella Dies and due to a combination of luck and intervention is deified, and Willow is desperate to figure out how – which is what finally fully drives Stella away. she ends up travelling with the two new characters, Wander and Gray, while Willow continues her experiments

(eventually Willow starts getting increasingly desperate, and starts working with Ash and a group of powerful magick users who are working to Kill Death, hoping this could help cull her mortality. Unfortunately the group’s target is Gray, and Constellation and Wander aren’t going to let anything happen to her without a fight, which places Willow and Stella on opposite sides of the battlefield.

(Willow tries to just kinda. avoid Stella, but Stella ends up taking a hit for Wander and is really badly injured, which is her big girl loss moment in what I’m working on rn :3 originally I was gonna give her a girlboss moment instead, but what I drafted worked better with causing her pain >:D

(aaanyways that kinda makes Willow feel a bit guilty over the whole thing, and decides to abandon the cause and continue her research on her own. The group is still, mostly, successful though (which causes Problems later on), and later on she’s contacted again by Ash, leading to her last confrontation with Stella before the official timeline starts – in which Stella is Very Concerned (but still not happy at all with Wills) over the way Willow has started to… degrade, who of course insists that nothing is wrong.

(Which Is another animation I’m working on lmao! The whole thing kinda changes the Foxglove incident so I’m still finagling those details bc I think it’s important that he dies. Willow fucks off for a second time to follow new leads and also hide from Stella, where she eventually meets Arceli :>

Okay this is a fun question bc I drop the Matteo lore every chance I get bc its so funny to me. Ferret inspired little man. But the truth is, the others...all came about because the world Matteo resides in, needed them?

LIKE GFJKSHGFL He is the sun around which the ocs I have created rotate even if they don't really ever interact, bc through him I start thinking about gaps in the world or things that would be fun to add. He's the filter and everyone who appears is condensed little nuggets of an idea.

Vance exists because he needed a Boss. In needing a Boss, Vance's storyline also very nicely added up to being a catalist.

Julia exists because the plot needed a hook. Because of that, she's developed into something more, and my wife and I are actually in the middle of reworking her purpose to better fit agency into her whole situation.

Others came about for similar reasons - what is this story missing, and who can I fit into it to help fill it out?

From there idk. I just take elements that feel like the right "vibe" from the mental library in my brain and fiddle with it until it looks/feels right....it's not often a very directly-inspired-take??? Moreso I'm not often entirely aware of the influences going into the oc, bc I do it based on vibes KJKJGHSLKDJF

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: her and utena! 99% of their interactions its like woah juri what is yuor issue then you learn all about shiori and its like Woaaah i get it. and then the parts where juri helps her .. :) like juri definitely projected on utena (and projected herself+shiori onto utenanthy a lot) and you can TELL !! but i also think juri saw utena as a symbol of all the things she could never quite do and in the end utena does EVERYTHING. like she gets out and so does anthy. so its a little headcanon territory but i think juri definitely kind of. idk i dont want to say she lived vicariously through her but i think her wanting to help utena wasnt entirely selfless LOL. also the implication in the movie that juri etc arent far behind utena in leaving ohtori... bursts into tears

but ya i think the main motivation behind development was seeing these ppl's neat ocs and thinking... "i wanna do that!!" as a 9 year old and making my first warrior cat oc, then sonic oc, then pokemon trainer oc

and then feeling frustrated that i couldnt draw the pose i wanted to and then scouring the internet for poses to learn and taking in little bits from different artists i looked up to to polish my drawings.

Watched this with my friends for halloween. It’s tragically already left my mind largely. It was fun, very stupid, could have used less titties in my humble opinion but otherwise a great yelling at the horror movie watch.

Paprika (2006)

Hadn’t seen it in a long time, still fucks. Concept strong, memetic virus type things are always fun, back when i watched it the first time was when I learned the 180° rule. Fun stuff. Tokita… I think I was uncomfortable with him when I was younger but now i love him visually but do still gripe with a few decisions about him from like. A narrative perspective. It’s so nice to just. See big people depicted. And he still is allowed to be cute. And good ultimately. And I don’t *think* the fatness and the childishness go hand in hand but it’s just sort of. Unfortunate. But i can live with it. The chairman or w/e also troublesome but less so, especially than the book version from what I’m reading.

I should watch paranoia agent again sometime when it wont make me spiral…

Angel’s egg (1985)

Ok. I get why it was a commercial failure. But the critical failure? They weren’t ready. Had a *blast* picking this apart with my friend. Absolutely gorgeous, ambiguous with room to interpret but in a *fun* way. I think it’s even more fun because like, the christian theming is both intentional and has some depth to it where (thinks about, for example, NGE) that’s not often the case from what I’ve seen. A fascinating take, beautiful little movie. Also that guy is so gender.

Phantasm (1979)

My father loves this movie. I’ve heard of it my whole life. Finally took a peek. It sucked. The music was pretty good admittedly, and they had one cool set, but like. It wasn’t scary, the lore was uninteresting and just. Stupid. It didn’t feel like it was trying to be campy or funny either. I dont understand why this one lasted. Maybe I just dont get it idk. Sadge.

Ringu (1998)

For some reason I’m delighted by how teen girl-y the teen girls are. Theyre having fun. Being assholes.

It mostly makes me wonder why the american remake was the way it was. The family drama is way more interesting in this. As is having supernaturally sensitive characters. It’s still the ring otherwise tho idk what i expected.

Just a thing, in Crystal Hearts, that time when Kohaku made the soul link, I wasn't surprised you put his Helter-Spider version, but for some reason I can't stand it in a good way, that version makes me flustered and perhaps is because his event was the first on getting a 5 star card and I don't regret it, his outfit is so gorgeous!!
