You are so right. He is extremely edible, and thats exactly why i have two aus specifically about that happening (im using this post as an excuse to rant about my slimecicle nom aus, buckle up and strap in)

Im specifically gonna talk about an au that i havent talked about here yet, because we already kinda know about vore-ogins smp. This one, is called AWOOTS.

Yes. The name is dumb. But it specifically stands for "A Way Out of This Slimy Situation" which is the title of the fic and i find it kinda sums it up pretty well. Basically, charlie, a human peasent in a hidden medieval mountian kingdom, gets trapped away from home and forced to survive in a world where everything is out to eat him. Including the thing that saves his life.

A pack of 20 foot tall shadow wolf creatures rampage his town and take him and a few others back out into the wilderness as a later snack. Charlie manages to escape their den, but cant outrun them once they realise hes gone. In comes 70ft tall Slime to the rescue (yes theres two slimes in this au, idk why i do this with every fic but i like the dynamic they have :] also hes based off c!slime if that gives an idea of his character) and charlie is fucking terrified, for valid reasons. Slime, being the nature gaurdian he is, beats the crap out of the shadows and then goes to check on charlie (who is actively bleeding out) and of course notices his injuries. Charlie is scared, tired, and woozy from blood loss, and the last thing he sees before passing out is the back of slimes throat as he gets swallowed whole.

Next thing he knows, he wakes up on a bed of moss feeling better than he has for the last ten years of his life.

TLDR: charlie gets trapped outside his walled in kingdom and finds a giant slime who saves his life. Slime has healing abilitys, but because of the magic that's used, healing is super painful, so he uses the numbing acid in his stomach to provide anesthesia before properly healing charlie. Charlie consequently decides to stay with slime because going off on his own is a death sentence and slime literally wont let him leave on his own even if he wanted to. (He is a giant puppy who gets incredibly attached to him.) And all while this is happening, Schlatt and Ted back in the mountian kingdom believe charlie's dead, and are actively grieving him to varying amounts of success (schlatt is guilt stricken because he thinks he couldve saved charlie but no matter what he did, it wouldve ended the same way)

Anyways yeah, thats AWOOTS. By the time charlie gets back home, hes gotten accustomed to slimes show of affection (eating him and going to sleep) and so when he tries to explain to Schlatt and Ted that "yes, the giant slime monster that ate me is actually my friend" you can imagine how well they took it.

I think the best thing about this au is that before i realised there was a nonesexual vore community, i managed to get a whole slimecicle fan server (it was mostly just the people in the art channel) invested in this story, and nobody seemed to clock that it was about vore. Like actually, there is fanart of these guys (WHICH BTW IS SO GOOD OMG) and no one even batted an eye when i explained how and why Slime ate charlie

Oh i also posted about AWOOTS on my main tumblr blog before i found nsx vore, which is why i havnt talked about it yet in case someone sees the two posts and connects the dots, but like, people took it really well, so that was nice :]

BLACK PHONE CHARACTERS AND WHICH WALKING DEAD COMMUNITY THEYD BE IN (seasons 6-8) (spoilers for that btw)

Finney, Gwen and Robin - THESE GUYS ARE SO ALEXANDRIA CODED ITS INSANE. yes. i do not care. i wasnt sure how i really wanted to do this au- if i wanted them to be the equivalent of rick’s group, or just silly background cast, but i can tell for SURE these three are together and ‘thriving’ in alexandria. i can see them all just sitting on the porch roof and just chatting, or sneaking out like how enid and carl did to just be silly in the woods. idk if theyd be members before rick (or the equivalent) comes around, but theyre alexandrian thru and thru^_^

Bruce, Amy and Billy - kingdom!! bruce and billy just have the kingdom aura, and its common protocol that siblings stay together in these things so amy is too!!! i can defo see her living there and taking care of the vegetables:3 id like to think that bruce n billy are pretty close to the King (still havent decided if im keeping ezekiel or finding someoje else) and somehwat kinda taking the role of benjamin sort of except without the dying part (not yet at least i need all the cast 2 meet). i really like the thought of them going out to do the trades alongside the king and company and studying the freak out of the saviours!! also i just really wanted me some cool bruce combat scenes cause that would be FIRE im sorry.

Griffin - HILLTOP. its literally THE place for him. little community,, on the top of a hill,, surrounded by a good ton of animals and plants and an ex-museum in the backdrop,, living ‘peacefully’ and quiet,, its him guys. its his place. in this fic im writing, its already 169% canon, and his mom is one of the doctors there since she was a nurse before the outbreak so!! yippee!! perfect life for him i hope nothing bad happens. he plants strawberries behind the trailers and shares them with a somebody ;)

Vance - now the reason why he’s separate from everyone is because i could NAWT figure ts out completely. but let me tell you one thing i am SURE about,, vance as an ex-saviour. THINK OF IT. i wasn’t completely sure if i should make him an actual saviour or having a family member who is/was, but i was thinking that whatever it was, he escaped the sanctuary and left for one of the other communities or completely off course and miraculously stumbling upon another member of the cast. he was originally going to be a sort of jesus character (THERES A FR CHARACTER NAMED JESUS IN TWD DONT TAKE OUT OF CONTEXT) back at hilltop with griffin, and im pretty sure i implied he was there, too, but im still stuck on deciding:P wouldnt it be funny if ex saviour vance stumbles upon kingdom bruce and then- *gets shot*

loren, marie and Swan Father™️ - before yall execute me again, i couldnt NOT add them. i need them (marie) and griffin needs loren okay. OKAY. (if you dont know who these freak these people are go read @straightupclownin fic trust you wont regret). so !! swan father is one hundred percent saviour, anf im cutely passing the role of simon onto him, which is funny because i HATE simon anf i HATE swan father so !! because of fun family bonding, he parades his children around with him when raiding hilltop and boom swagg begins. yada yada yada, swan father lies, cheats, kills and his children just stand and watch. i was honestly thinking marie would be doing some of the bullet work either alongside (or taking the place of) eugene cause i have a fun silly little idea for a thing regarding her making the bullets anf lorens complete loyalty residing in hilltop instead of the sanctuary. idk just a thought.

okay so. i was thinking about a fic to write where a character had a part of themselves appear somewhere else? like ive been getting into omniscient reader but i have a diff story im trying to commit to rn so i cant really write something with it when i dont really know shit that happens besides like end game spoilers lOl

but i find the idea of like the 49/51 (?) interesting? i think thats the right numbers. no context to people who dont know what that means but that part broke me even though all i know about omniscient reader is by reading a shit ton of orv fanfiction. my heart man... sob.

i dont know where im going with this thought but like. i remember the dawn knight said something like. if things could be different? but like it cant be because they've gone too far now to forgive each other? but like he wanted there to be peace.

like the dawn knight expressed regret that it had to be this way and wanted things to change but it was far too late. but like. he never did that stuff now (well lilia will remember so poor grandpa but. he's also been really forgiving towards humans when doing it for someone? like he endures it? like when he was searching for a way to hatch malleus and these people were really against lilia for being fae when he just existed, and he didnt fight back because it would paint a bad picture for the draconias? there was another example related to silevr but i cant remember it im. not what i was thinking about but theres also when he contemplated killing baby silver but changed his mind because he'd been trying to teach malleus to like. 'walk in time with his neighbor' and so and so and i forgot what he said but that how could he do that when he should be like setting an example for malleus or something right?)

also silver learning who his parents are in a maybe less traumatic way (like NOT running away knowing malleus' mom might die and then oh shit the ceiling collapsed and IS THAT THE ENEMY oh god please dont let malleus' egg be hurt and then he shares the same face as me? and that ring-- cue silver hating himself and being dragged in by darkness and i am just sobbing my eyes out like no silver he loved you so much :((( )

and even if lilia still holds anything against the dawn knight. still has lingering feelings even towards this not-dawn knight. that he wouldnt want to condemn the dawn knight, and then have silver condemn himself for being of that blood even though he didnt even do anything yknow?

and then when lilia dies he can meet up with the ghosts of maleanor and raverne (is that spelled right? i genuinely cant remember the EN spelling but it was something like that. uhh.??) and i know thats sad but i want lilia to be able to spend more time with maleanor and raverne too yknow? but im not sure how to do that

maybe. like the. the the . council? i cant remember its name fshuidfh but those assholes who appeared when we made it to. blackscale(?) castle... ? i. forgor. maleficia(THATS GRANDMA RIGHT?? i get so confused by who is who in draconia) castle??

fully getting over stuff. heart demons. talking things out. lilia gets to talk about stuff for the first time in awhile (remember when like literally no one talked about the circumstances regarding malleus' birth or something so silver and sebek just had no idea what they were getting into??? and like i guess he could talk to baul? baur? idk which one is the one on EN i forgor. but idk man.)

its like. the unique point of view of talking about things between former enemies. like how they viewed things, etc etc

and then when lilias lived a full life, no regrets, he meets maleanor and raverne in the afterlife.

oh yeah also about his dorm i have no fucking idea. i honestly mostly forgot what each dorm represents but either ramshackle or diasomnia, which i know is like nobility or something? but anyway dawn knight married a princess, also i associate diasomnia with fae / briar valley which is related considering hes book 7 stuff so im pushing him there anyway

or maybe the mirror cant read him because his soul is fragmented. or maybe retcon and his soul isnt like that? idk but i like to think the other part of his soul is in the afterlife with his wife yknow? and eventually silver will be there and able to meet his mom and huggies, and acknowledging that these are who his parents are, but also that lilia is also his parent and the one who raised him yknow? there can be more than two parents in my eyes.

its just that his soul is like in half because of the part of him that wants to have seen silver grown. i think i said this earlier in the post but that since the last time he saw silver was as an infant (also he had blonde hair so-)

also wasnt infant silver asleep for like hundreds of years until it was either because someone who loved him came by (lilia) or because the spell finally wore off (which is what lilia thinks. i dont know where to put my two cents at tbh of which i think is right)

Except I make an entire game layout with it, including three mini boss fights and a final boss. They're in order of when they appear in the game, and color coded based on the area.

This took so long why did i do this-

Parasite - The music at the starting area, before you've began your expedition. Like the home village. Possibly shows up at the epilogue too, when you return to the village, if you enter certain buildings.

Tear Drop - The salon that acts as an equipment shop. Except the shop keep has intense lore. Is maybe evil. We dont know. It pops up all through the game, or theres a way to get back to it and its in a neutral area.

Delusion Tax - You begin your journey into the first area! It looks very rocky and lava filled, with the stone buildings melded with the rocky mountains.

I Love You - Investigation scene. For what, I have no idea. Probably something related to your mission. The beginning of ILY is like. you find something very shocking and kinda scary, but then the rest is like. you + ur group(?) using it as a cataylst to keep looking and journeying. (its giving danganronpa udg honestly)

Backdraft - The 1st mini boss fight. A very overconfident, fiery kind of boss, despite being the weakest. This is the first part of the fight, where you're chasing them while they effortlessly hop through/set off many traps you have to dodge.

Salamander - Second part of the 1st boss fight where the boss actually stops to fight you. They fight with fire (...wow who would have guessed)

Purge March - When you get to the second area, and you're. continuing with your journey. Or something idk. I'm thinking this area is circus themed. Many animals.

Vampire - You first meet the boss. You think they're just a friendly child. They're so cheery and happy and childish and innocent. And then 1:19 in Vampire, you realize they're a little fucked up. But thats okay, because they're just a kid and they could never hurt anyone-

INMF - Now they're trying to murder you, so you're running away as they chase you and throw shit at you. Like uh. A million gruesome ways to die from billie bust up.

Animal - The second boss fight, filled with many circus props used as weapons. The softer parts of the song are when you're fighting different animals this boss sends after you, like lions and other circus animals.

Android Girl - Adventuring theme for the 3rd area. This area has a glitchy, techy hallucination theme. Like the boss is hacking the area to make illusions. Everything looks very glitchy, and has a kinda cyberpunk city look.

MKDR (DSCF) - Some part of the journey through the 3rd area where you've been completely absorbed into a hallucination, likely before you know that there are hallucinations here. When this happens it becomes a lot less glitchy looking and more real.

[Android Girl part 2]

Reversible Campaign - Phase one of the 3rd mini boss fight. They have a very techy theme. Like ig spamton.

Double - Phase two of the 3rd mini boss. You've pissed them off now, and theyve switched forms. The parts of the song that are softer (when mikoto's singing) are when you're deep in a hallucination. Then when you break free, it goes back to the glitchy harsh vibe.

Neo-Neon - You've defeated the three mini bosses and are filled with a newfound sense of determination. Now you go through the final area (likely a castle?) to get to the final boss. This area is a lot shorter.

Deep Cover - The final boss fight begins ! This is the first phase, which is very long distance and not quite near the boss yet. I imagine this one has a very celestial, crystal / star theme.

Streaming Heart - You weaken the boss via long distance, and they become more enraged. They haven't given up though, and fight with even more determination. This is where you can finally get face to face with them and have an all out battle.

AKAA - This is where their tough exterior cracks. You have a brief conversation, in an attempt to persuade them to stand down. But they put the broken pieces of their form together, for one last stand.

Cat - You've defeated the boss!! Roll end credits. Yeah thats it cat's just end credits. I. could not think of anything else </3

Triage - Epilogue after the boss fight when you're talking with everyone. Everything is happy and good, but there's also those very sentimental convo scenes.

Emerie lore speculation post?!! :O

Okay guys this is my little gift to myself for finishing my school work on time. Also like low key regardless if you agree or not, drop your Emerie predictions/thoughts in the comments— because for whatever reason my brain has attached itself to her, but she has like 5 mins of screen time and vary little discourse surrounding her :D

Okay guys I’m get real with you, I don’t think Emerie was created as an enhanced clone, or with some kind of special ability. I think she was made to be as plain and reg-like as possible.

Based on Nala Se’s reaction to Omega’s blood being sampled and tested, we can assume she knew and maybe even was responsible for Omegas ability to support an M-count. What I think happened was, Nala se was like “Oh oops it appears I have gotten emotionally attached to this child so I’m keeping her as my own, but I dont wanting any snoopers out there to trying to figure out whats so special about her,” so she created Emerie as a decoy of sorts. Essentially a female version of a reg to send out to the world to prove that theres no reason for anyone to inquire about Omega because look how regular female clones are. Like in a super heartbreaking way, my theory is that Emerie was essentially made to have no identity. To be an obedient little placeholder to take attention away from Omega’s existence.

Wow thats cool but why does it matter?

OKAY so throughout the premiere we saw that maybe there was some trouble in Tantiss paradise for Emerie. Shes been content(?) with complying and doing what is asked of her up until this point, but we saw her be willing to break rules for Omega’s sake, and we also saw how shaken she looked when Hemlock was like “Return to the lab, Dr. Karr”. She also looked like she was really pondering things at the end of episode three when she discovered Omega’s ability to support an M count transfer.

I think maybe during the rest of the season we’ll see her start to grapple with what she really wants to do here, as (I believe, in her own little way), she now has a sister she cares about and wants to protect. I think Omega, through her doll making and Batcher taming, has shown Emerie a little bit of light. That clones can have their own wants, and makes choices based off of them. But really, I don’t think a person who has presumably grown up being conditioned to follow rules and see herself as property would be able to quickly break out of that rigid structure shes used to and make a personal choice to try and keep Omega safe in a significant way.

What? Okay please just bear with me. Wording things is not my forte.

I think Nala Se will see an opportunity to further get in the head of an already torn Emerie. I think she might reveal her original purpose of essentially being made to protect omega. And emerie, who already sort of sees herself as a tool to being used for some greater purpose, will then feel almost like shes been given “permission” to disobey. Sort of like “Oh damn, not only is this something I want to do, but more importantly it was the purpose I was designed for yassssss”. I think she will continue acting as normal but will basically be a shooter on the inside for Omega and it will build up to her sabotaging further experimentation done on Omega if shes captured.

Idk if this makes sense or is dumb. But I just think it could be a cool avenue. Because we’ve seen clones grapple with what theyve done under imperial command and have seen some of them change their ways which is awesome. And, I think it could also be cool to see a character whos been so shaped by her upbrining, and doesnt have that soldier-ly sheer force of will to just defect. I think it could be cool to see someone go about a change of allegiance in a more roundabout way where they basically have to reason themselves through it because they arent equipped to do it any other way. But yeah its 2 AM now so goodnight.

so it started with me trying to find away to somehow link tarmite, clover, and jaoba together because they all happened to have liminal space themed floors. So I linked it to MR's cult. It started off with just the three, mr, enphoso, and maneveurer (idk how to spell) and then folly, then glevil was added, then unpleasant, AND THEN NULL. i forgot when scary mike was added

now relationships are complicated;

tarmite and glevil are married and are having a baby, theres an evil polycule with folly, unpleasant, and scary mike. jaoba and clover will get together somehow. jaoba and tarmite are the song good luck babe but mlm. unpleasant and glevil have a rivarly, unpleasant sees them as inferior. unpleasant is manipulative to null. ashton is evil, he shot 18 cloverlings, he will try to kill aformentioned glevmite baby

most of my designs dont have meaning

clover has two clothing designs, one more ragged and ripped and the other is the sweater vest and more put together. the former is used in past scenes and when theyre in the cult. the latter is used when poob and friends 'kidnap' them..

tarmite has knightly armor and jeremy has prince-like clothes. supposed to represent tarmite trying to protect jeremy when he was young.. Scary Mike has ripped clothes kinda, also he has my old folly's designs clothes, tying the two together more since he is more attached to folly

unpleasant's markings are meant to look like fungus and shes supposed to look like a succubus overall though

glevil wears their long ass skirt for a reason, its too look more mannequin-like. covering their humanoid legs.

jaoba has his cuffs around his wrists and neck is to represent Enphosos control.

the general plot is focused mainly on clover and them escaping the abuse from the cult. also focused on characters and revealing their lore aswell as the main plot revolving around a not so twist villian

i am curious about cassidy :3 bc you posted about him earlier i think, what’s his thing? you said something like he’s so focused on getting afton he causes hurt to his own side, and i love characters like that so i would like to hear rambles <3

ok so the thing with cassidy is. we dont. know a lot abo it them. a lot of what we know comes from either Batshit Matpat Theories TM or vague context clues from other things BUT im willing to explain my thoughts on this

so, cassidy was the fifth child william killed rkght. theyre super often referred to as “the one you should not have killed” by a multitude of animatronics in UCN (william’s personal hell, presumably made by cassidy):

“greetings from the fire, and from the one you shouldn’t have killed!” - jack-o-chica

“i have seen him - the one you shouldn’t have killed!” - withered chica

“he’s here, and always watching - the one you shouldn’t have killed…” - mangle

so the running theory, at least the one from game theory’s Big Lore Videos Part One (ultimate fnaf timeline) is that cassidy was the most brutal of the murders, which. yeah. could see that happening, “the one you shouldnt have killed” in regards to them and not the other souls? would only make sense their death was much more brutal and enraged them to a point of revenge

the thing is, the only proof i really have for cassidy keeping the others trapped with them is some of the death quotes you get from some animatronics; my main proof being withered bonnie.

“what is this new prison? is it me trapped, or is it you? perhaps it’s us both.”

along with this, if you die to three specific animatronics in ucn (happy frog, orville elephant and nedd bear) you may get secret lines with a quiet child’s voice echoing the line in the background:

“they tried to release you. they tried to release us. but i’m not going to let that happen. i will hold you here. i will KEEP you here. no matter how many times they burn us.” - orville

“this is how it feels. and you get to experience it over, and over, and over again. i will never let you leave.” - nedd bear

the only one of those three that really contributes to the idea of trapping the other souls with them in this personal hell they created for william is orville’s; “no matter how many times they burn us.” though it could just refer to cassidy and william specifically, i cant help but feel like the other souls are included in that.

and plus, ”they tried to release us, but i’m not going to let that happen” i mean come on. if that doesn’t scream “i’m using other people to get revenge” idk what does

im sure theres other voice lines i could theoretically find to back up my claims here but !!! theres just my silly ideas. i really like the concept of cassidy being so infuriated with afton that they go out of their way to hurt him, no matter how much it may hurt the other souls trapped with them in the process.

i could ALSO probably get into the idea of cassidy and william’s souls being essentially bound after between pizzeria sim which is why he’s being haunted by them in hell but that’s another rant in and of itself (i say, with no proof for that at all)

omg. omg. OMG. i honestly have no words (lie. i have many). when playing the chapters, its abundantly clear as to why it took 4 years to make. THE MINIGAMES?? FIGHTS? ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!??!?

im going to have to replay much because, like always, my mentality follows gaming george, and i manage to proceed in the right direction even when i dont want to.

chapter 3:

tenna was an awesome antagonist. i dont have much else to say! very sympathetic character, makes me incredibly glad i still have a tv with shows i never asked for because it is a better experience to have in the living room than youtube (imo).

i absolutely loved how alive every single character felt! susie and ralsei having their distinct playstyles of gaming every once in a while vs. has never touched a controller made me want to watch their hypothetical twitch streams rather than play the game myself. loved the music band minigame, not a huge fan of the cooking one but i feel thats the point (i did end up tanking the flames for the most part)

still disappointed toriel was unconsious the whole time but the rest more than makes up for my diappointment! UNDYNE !!!!!! TTOTT ong we r gonna save your ass you need to be lesbians with alphys NOW!

absolutely loved the conversations and susie starting to take more charge when it comes to narrative decisions. ralsei has my heart. i have kris' heart, so i mainly feel bad for them.

chapter 4:

O.M.G. i didnt realize entering and touching dess' guitar would immediately shift the gameplay, so i missed out a few things a replay will fix. absolutely chilling, my heart (real) was pounding as i moved the heart (game) around the vents trying to avoid kris. GAAAHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just loved it !! i wouldve let susie and noelle flirt more when the breakers broke, but i also felt like being a little shit. i wonder what happens if i dont move around?

carol scares me. shes for sure in cahoots with the knight, or at least knows something we do not (duh).

speaking of...... it might be a red herring, but i really hope it is dess thats the knight. also but damn lesbians move quickly. susie and noelle have only properly talked to eachother for two days and already acting like theyve been in love for years (this might be true for noelle, but i dont think susie ever noticed that her mercy mightve been due to something else). cute!

last thing. FUCK that fight with the jack-o-lantern. that shit took more tries than my fight with the titan (1st try vs like 8th try.) infuriating that you needed to fight it for climbing gear smh

Im not a hardcore fans of GoT but the amount BS that i had to witness from Hotd make me think GoT is a masterpiece espessially when it come to professionalism, Lena and Emilia knew they are actors and they never justify or give their characters excuse to what horrible thing their character has done, meanwhile Hotd got some actors who projecting them self and their struggles into their characters, begging people to not call them villain at comic con, inventing a whole new ass background story and relationship, stealing 90% characters trait from other characters just to make her more likeable, even asking the writers to write a PLOT because they are bored had to shoot in studio? Jesus

I do wonder why people dont talk about nepotism in HoTD anymore i remember they talk about this after someone on reddit mad they didnt get cast for a role because theres actor who has famous daddy (David Tennat) was already booked for that one and this is happen three month before they announce the casting for that role that person even come as far making a whole essay in all this cast interviews and he is right David's son get that role how can we forget Miguel's wife was behind the idea to make Rhaenyra and Alicent a bestfriend

I still haven't done my research into how HotD's actors overly defend their characters, I only know of Fabien's bc he consistently has said Cole is more or less "misunderstood" 🙄 in interviews despite giving mountains of evidence that he isn't. so I can't commit to anything on the others' parts.

As for the Tennant nepotism, idk abt that either bc I don't often look at bts-bts stuff. Agreed this show doesn't deserve an Emmy, but I maintain many of its actors do.

I will be forever grateful for the musical score...or really Ramin. Certified bangers.

yeah she only does historical mm romance. i wasn't super into it at first but i really love her now. can i recommend you one? i love any old diamonds, the romance is not schmoopy and the characters have a real bite to them. plus there's other stuff going on that makes the plot gripping. anyways if you ever decide to try any of her books i hope you'll like them! also do you have any mm romance recs?

of you can rec me one! i had think of england downloaded for a while, idk why but that's the only one i kept between changing devices. i've never heard of any old diamonds but i love what im hearing! any character with a little bite to them is so welcomed by me when im reading romance bc it seems like everyone's so dreamy and nice now.

and yeah i have mm recs. let me list some of my favs:

the lamb and the lion trilogy by gregory ashe - i cannot explain how this series moved me the first time i read it. it's a romance suspense with an ex-mormon wildlife wet, tean, and a scam artist, jem. both of them are grappling with so much like the questions about the universe and faith and truth while being amateur sleuths and falling in love and there's just this gentleness with them that makes everything feel so profound. it's written beautifully and the characters are so complex as greg ashe's characters always are. the slowburn and the pining ughhhhhh if i ever write something as half beautiful as this i'd be the happiest gal around.

hazard and somerset by gregory ashe - okay, look, this list will have so much gregory ashe (esp his old stuff) because no one does deep, complex character work like he does (all within a beautiful prose) and i'm a very character-focused reader. hazard and somers are (especially in the first series (there are three series for them with a total of 16 books lol)) so rough and messy and toxic and gorgeous ugh. basically hazard is a police detective that comes back to his hometown and finds out he's been made partners with his old high school bully, the town's golden boy, john-henry somerset (my fav boy ever). there's so much history between them and the mystery aspect of the first series is pretty hefty so it's slooooow moving but the way their dynamic changes and develops is so fascinating. it is a hefty undertaking but this is also greg's first main series that took off and is the reason we call his shared universe of these books hazardverse. they're the blueprint. my favorite series is the lamb and the lion and my favorite couple is what i'll mention below but hazard & somers is soooo everything like it takes you a bit to get into the first book bc it's thick as fuck but if you want traumatized men with complex history and characterizations... here

borealis investigations by gregory ashe - FRIENDS TO LOVERS EXCELLENCE. north and shaw are a pair of private investigators who've been bffs since college with shaw being the eccentric new age gay and north the blue collar background asshole gay. they are my favorite couple ever. im obsessed with them because they're soooo so so so bad. this series does the one thing i wish all friends to lovers stories did which is they hurt each other - a lot. bc they know and love each other the most. i think they need a third series (they have 2 series so far with 7 books) for them to actually reach the healed stage and idk if it'll happen but god they make me insane. THE PINING. im sorry the pining. they're also very very annoying like both of them will make you wanna rip your hair out with how they act but that's a feature for me tho ymmv.

so, all three of these couples (and one more couple, theo and auggie from the first quarto series) are in the same shared universe and theres a crossover series waaay down the road. if you're interested shoot me another ask and i'll type up the best reading order for it but basically you can read the lamb and the lion on its own and switch h&s and borealis like h&s -> borealis -> h&s a union of swords -> borealis without a compass -> h&s arrows in the hand. also none of these books come with trigger warnings when they should so check for that as well.

dig two graves by ka merikan - this is a western historical that is so fraught and violent but sweet as well, i reread it sooo often. it features our sweet guy ned infiltrating the gang that killed his parents and falling in love with the gang leader's pseudo son, cole. the second book will ruin your life at certain parts probably but it's really good and so very underrated in my opinion. like these are big books and they are very plot heavy as well so they move like a slog sometimes but like i said i love slow and subtle things more so if that can be your cup of tea, give it a try. gotta mention: a lot of triggers again but merikan puts a list in the blurb so mind that.

if we could go back by cara dee - first warning: cheating. not between the guys but they are both cheating on their wives with each other. basically bennett and kieran meet on a train one day, become best friends, and start an affair that goes on for years. it's been a hot minute since i reread this book but i remember it having a really strong sense of character and why they're even doing this. it ends a little goofy but the meaty chunk of it is pretty pretty good. i should reread this actually now that i remembered it exists.

the cabots and midcentury nyc series by cat sebastian - with you reccing me kj charles, i assume you might be familiar with cat but i especially wanted to mention for 20th century historicals as i like these ones a lot. cat has such a strong way of creating and atmosphere that i dont mind her stories basically have no "bite" to them. the cabots are p short, hard to call any of them novels and tbh i havent read the second midcentury nyc yet but i thought i should throw some nicer stuff in here.

rule breaker by lily morton - look, i dont read lily morton anymore bc she's overdoing the british humor, pop culture ref thing a lot at this point and all her books started to feel the same but rule breaker will always have a special place in my heart. it's a classic asshole boss/sassy employee novel but their dynamic is soooo fun. and like gabe (the boss) is an asshole asshole which makes the third act drama fun for me. it's a very quick read too. (dont read the sequel (not the second book in the same series, thats about jude) where they get married, it's useless)

extracurricular activities by neve wilder - for that good smut. there's really nothing else in these books for me but the smut is great.

rend by roan parrish - i dont remember the other books in this series at all but i remember the sleepy hollow sense in rend. it's contemporary but it has this gothic fantasy morbidness for some reason. it's about a couple trying to come back from edge of separation and the fears fueling that. i should reread this one too.

the dupage parish mysteries by gregory ashe - okay one more gregory ashe. this is a paranormal romance series that mostly has my heart because the link between character trauma and the paranormal elements are so good and it features one of the most annoying MCs on earth who's loved despite that. it was never meant to be a series so there's kind of a disconnection between the books when it comes to details but i love this pairing a lot. this is not everyone's fav gregory ashe but i love it a lot.

mdzs or grandmaster of demonic cultivation by mxtx - if i may suggest a danmei. brilliant if you haven't seen any other adaptations like the untamed bc it's soooo fun to go back and forth between the timelines and trying to figure out what's lan wangji's deal is with wei wuxian and how did wei wuxian die anyway. will probably always be my fav danmei, just the balance of everything is great. the translation lowkey sucks so don't expect world altering prose here

Girl, i feel like you have some personal things against Philip I mean, most of what I see from you on Twitter is you insulting him and talking about how bad a person he is, and so on, at least three pages long in each tweet, to the point of a little annoying but with great details, so it is clear that you hate him as person, but what about him as a character ?, as a villain? And why most people hate him even though a lot of other characters in other franchises with far worse goals and far worse actions didn't get this hate ?, like lich of adventure time

Well ofc I hate him as a person,,,he is bloody awful in every way and we are meant to hate him. And I'm sorry but I will be pretty concerned if someone tells me they like him as a person when he's someone who's been shown to murder, abuse and manipulate.

But as a character? I wouldnt be talking about him, analyzing his actions and his place in the narrative if I hated how he was written. I find him compelling. And I'm never stating in my analysis stuff that is not canon, so me pointing out he is bad in this and that way is literally just things that happened in the show. Idk how you want me to analyze him in other ways.

So theres a very clear distinction here. And when theres similar villains in other franchises? I hate them as people too. You should have seen me talk about Bill Cipher when I was more into that show back in the day. Awful person but well written character who did a good job as villain.

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

so the funny thing about all three of these ocs is they all started as characters for different games that just kinda ended up getting dragged into different things. without getting into much detail (bc this post would be a mile long):

oli is my captain in sunless sea, so of course i pulled the whole cannibalism & spending a lot of their time at sea from that (the vampire thing was unrelated & originally meant to be a substitute for the cannibalism but then i added it back bc it makes things more interesting).

jules is my bloodborne character, & the reason hes kind of twitchy & prefers to do things in the company of others is bc i am so bad at bloodborne & always hit the wrong buttons & need help with the game. honestly idr why i ended up making him a vampire. possibly just so he would still be alive by the time oli was around? idk.

cameron was meant to be my character in a blades in the dark game that never really took off (i sat out the first bit to Observe ao i never actually ender up playing them), & so the whole thing of them being part demon & having some control over weather stuff & also their drug problem was like... literally just from that. honestly cameron probably had the fewest changes getting kicked over to this setting but that might also just be bc they were the least developed at the time lmao

🌂 - What genre do they belong in?

im. not really sure yet?? im gonna be honest my grip on genres is. not good lmao. & i have plot elements but not an actual full plot yet. does supernatural count as a genre? its not really horror i dont think. the setting is definitely futuristic (although the aesthetic is largely historical) but i dont think it really counts as like... scifi... i would like to have some sort of mystery going on but maybe not enough that it would be considered A Mystery Story?? is it a fucking drama. like not a romantic drama bc its definitely not a romance but like drama as in There Sure Is Shit Happening All The Time??? idk what the actual factors are that qualify something to be a drama. also i have some sort of dislike for that term but i think thats just bc it is so often grouped w romance. but it feels a bit Too Much to be slice of life so that seems like the next step up... i do want some scenes that have some action but overall i definitely wouldnt consider it one..... what else is there im sure im forgetting something
