Can’t stop thinking of a Have You Seen My Sister Evelyn AMV/MAP of Pinepaw and Daffodilpaw looking for their sister. It starts out silly- cartoon art style, Pine and Daff asking various Clanmates on where they saw Asphodel last, lots of hijinks and slapstick, etc. Over the course of the song, the landscape gets progressively darker and more realistic, with occasional realistic shots, until at the very end the gleeful illusion is broken and it’s just BarrenClan standing over a child’s corpse

Okay, I have got to address this. This is the - fourth? fifth? - time that this song has been suggested to me with this exact idea for it. 🪸 JULY LISTENS 🪸

(ft. some lovely coral for those of us caught up on The Magnus Protocol😌)

this month, i’ve been working through some of the stuff that’s been languishing on my listen list for approximately a million years as well as revisiting some old favorites. here’s what i enjoyed most in my earholes:

G.O.B.L.I.N.S — (pilot, crowdfunding now!) for fans of Stellar Firma, the Meredith brothers have reunited with some other familiar voices to spin a story about an overly ambitious human office worker who gets dragged through the veil into the fae realm by a pair of chaotic goblins. the show is scripted but it’s marked by the same sense of humor that has characterized the Meredith’s other improvised works. 8 episodes projected if it funds.

Larkspur Underground — (11 eps, complete?) a fictional exposé about the sole survivor of a serial killer’s disturbing abduction and grooming. i was giddy to discover this one as an ardent fan of Showtime’s Dexter. it’s gory and glorious, and if you’re keen you might spot some clues; if not, the final episode is going to shock you. creator wants to make more, but it’s been a few years so who knows.

I Found A Wormhole — (5 eps, complete) a short yet existentially harrowing series. exactly what it says on the tin. mind the content warnings on the final episode but by the time you get there you’ll definitely know what’s coming tbh.

The Grotto — (10 eps, ongoing) a pull-no-punches exploration of messy grief with a supernatural twist. season two is here! this series has an absolutely killer soundtrack and immersive sound design. it has such a unique vibe. you’ll definitely like it if you like WOE.BEGONE.

Dear Bastard! — (16 eps, complete?) an epistolary comedy about a bunch of squabbling neighbors. i like to use this show as a palate cleanser when i’ve been listening to a lot of gruesome horror, because it’s just so light and fun.

Deviant — (10 eps, complete) a space pirate dramedy! i stumbled across this purely by accident and did a little binge. i love an absolute mess of a protagonist, so this was right up my alley. it’s a little abrasive at times but overall i enjoyed the narrative and it wrapped up nicely.

Murphy — (6 eps, s2 in production) a folkloric monster-of-the-week mystery with very charming characters. the first season is complete and although it is short, the episodes are long and make great use of their runtime. pleased to see their recent crowdfunder has been successful so there will be more!

Ghost Wax — (45+ eps, hiatus) a horror anthology facilitated by a “reclaimer” who can extract the final statements of the dead. this is similar to How i Died but the lore feels much more fantastically intricate. i don’t want to spoil too much of the meta plot but there’s a LOT going on, and i’m looking forward to s2.

Fulmar’s Folly — (12 eps, ongoing?) people on reddit love this series so i decided to give it a spin. fans of zombie survival like We’re Alive are most likely to eat this up. it can be a little overwrought at times, but the constant tension feels genuine in context. episodes are quite long but the length feels satisfying and necessary.

Nowhere, On Air — (46 eps, ongoing) another spooky small town radio show about a girl in a world she doesn’t belong to. this is one of my favorite genres of AD. fans of WTNV, King Falls AM, Tiny Terrors, and other shows of that ilk will probably enjoy this. it leans a little more surreal and introspective than comedic. IMHO, the host also just has a lovely voice. the meta plot is currently really hitting its stride.

All In My Head — (19 eps, ???) night terrors turn out to be something much more sinister. so intriguing, i was devastated to realize it may have been abandoned. i’m not going to completely give up hope for a final season though!

Zoinks! — (11 eps, complete?) a darkly comedic homage to scooby doo and other childrens detective fiction. i loved the way the narrative approached the subject of child neglect, while still maintaining a thread of silliness that saved it from complete bleakness. s2 has been mentioned but it’s projected release date has come and gone without a word, so it may or may not happen.

Trice Forgotten — (10 eps, ???) an aspiring cartographer gets accidentally mixed up with some pirates. i relistened to this series in honor of its anniversary and was just blown away by the sound design all over again. the setting is made so rich and alive by the effort put in by the production staff! and the character dynamics are so intricate and gorgeous. i am especially a fan of the tension between alestes and gammon. beautiful first season with SO much left to explore, i really hope to see this come back for a s2 someday.

Angel Dust as The Old Witch Sleep and the Good Man Grace

I waffled on this a little bit, but in the end I always kept coming back to The Old Witch Sleep and the Good Man Grace for Angel.

This part in particular stands out to me:

'Cause I've been here so many times before Don't you think I look pretty Curled up on this bathroom floor? But where you see weakness, I see wit Sometimes I fall to pieces Just to see what bits of me don't fit

Romanticizing his own breakdowns, self destructing because it’s the only way he knows how to cope.

There’s also something to be said for the way that the glass metaphor mirrors Poison:

Somehow now I'm drinking, and I'm lifting my glass To that last good man grace Who has left me, he's left me at last

…

Then the hollow folk pour me another shard full of glass And I toast to their talents and I forgive them at last

Mmm yummy broken glass, yummy poison. This is fine. He’s fine, guys, don’t even worry about it!

Narrator Voice: He was not fine.

Angel using humor (often sexual humor, but still) as a shield comes up here, as well.

And I laugh, and I laugh 'Cause laughing right now, it's all, all that I have

And the conflicting forces throughout the song, the Old Witch Sleep and Good Man Grace, themselves, can be fitted over the conflicting forces on Angel’s Afterlife.

I could see an argument in either direction for which force matches up with which, but personally, I’m for the Old Witch Sleep as Angel’s addiction and the people with a vested interest in keeping him from being sober vs Good Man Grace as redemption and the pressure to get there.

There's a fire burning, and I'm learning to be So much more than my tiredness So much more than that old witch sleep wishes She kisses my eyelids And I breathe

The Old Witch Sleep represents the comfort in familiar, yet ultimately unhealthy coping mechanisms.

In the song, alone, I would say she sounds a lot like depression and the symptoms and coping mechanisms that come with it – telling the singer to rest, to give in to his tiredness.

And isn’t it easier to sleep? To lay in bed for hours, wasting away because you’re so, so tired, and everything is too much, and it’ll all be there when you get up (if you get up), so sleep, just sleep.

When applied to Angel Dust, specifically, she sounds like addiction.

Return to the comfort of your vices, break yourself so that it hurts less when he breaks you, escape through drugs and sex and dissociation. Isn’t it nicer here, where your thoughts and your feelings and your memories and your pain are blurred and distant and forgotten as you rewrite the narrative from trauma to indulgence? Isn’t it easier than trying to face it all sober?

She’s well intentioned, the Old Witch Sleep. After all, sleep is a necessity. The problem comes in excess, and even then, it can be seen as a kindness – as shelter from the inherent cruelty of being awake.

It kind of reminds me of Cherri, trying to comfort Angel by bringing him back to his vices. Her intentions were good, but ultimately she wound up putting him under even more stress.

So, what about Good Man Grace?

"You're better than this" He says as a hand slaps my face and I stand And say, "No good man grace" I can't do this (you can) I can't do this (you can) I can't do this (you can) I can't do this, you don't understand

Yeahh, remember Charlie and Vaggie’s whole thing in the first half of Masquerade? And to a lesser extent, Video Killed the Radio Star?

Good Man Grace is expectation. Being told that you can do better, trying to do better, wanting to do better, and oh fuck, they don’t understand, because there are forces here beyond your control and it’s harder than it looks, damn it!

And (through Angel’s slightly skewed lens of things) when you don’t make progress fast enough for his liking, Good Man Grace turns his attention to some fucking snake and you wonder if you were ever worth anything to begin with.

Ultimately, neither extreme is helping him.

(Luckily, though, I think Charlie and Vaggie are willing to give him a bit more leeway now that they understand the circumstances behind his resistance to change and his clinging to the mask of his persona/the comfort of his old coping mechanisms. And Cherri may become more of a neutral party, now that she’s stopped viewing the hotel as the problem.)

Alastor as That Unwanted Animal

LISTEN. I know this song is about sex. But can we pretend for a moment, that it isn’t?

Can we take its metaphors about violence and animalistic hunger literally, and transfer the themes of vulnerability in sex to vulnerability in human contact of any kind?

Honestly, as an aroace, I find myself doing this to a lot of songs about sex.

Actually, as I’m writing this, I’m realizing that it is very fitting for @prince-liest’s 666 Live On Air! Alastor, specifically. Which allows us to add the sex back in, but in a uniquely aroace way.

I feel an unbelievable amount of gratitude for the opportunity to have made this album. Writing this record allowed me to grow up in ways I needed to. It forced me to reflect and be accountable. I wanna recommend an anime to you to make you smile from the bottom of your heart. I watched ( Buddy Daddies ) anime yesterday and this anime has become one of my comfort animes. I love father-daughter relationships, and in my opinion, every story and anime needs one of these relationships because it's so cute. Now imagine what would happen if there were two dads instead of one. Also, I'm glad the anime didn't try to force a gay relationship between the two men. I am not a big fan of Yaoi anime. To be honest, I am not a fan of Yaoi and Yuri at all. I'm not saying I hate it, I just don't like this genre. I have not tried to watch Yaoi until now, maybe I will try it later and change my opinion about it. But what was so lovely about this anime was that it didn't try to go with a forced romance. Kazuki and Rei were two friends that a little girl changes their lives and they understand how much this girl is dear to them and decide to change because of this girl.

Story:

Plot Story: Well, at first glance, you think this anime is very similar to Spy x Family, but in my opinion, this anime was better than that. The comedy of the story and the relationship between parents and children was depicted much more attractively. It was very admirable that this story was related to the mafia but tried to maintain a sweet and family atmosphere. And that in the final episodes, we saw a combination of drama, action and the beautiful love of two fathers for their daughter. I was so hooked that I couldn't wait to see the next episode.

Characters:

Miri: Cute, simple and lovely little girl. Miri is very cute and kind. I swear, whenever she smiles, I want to hug her and squeeze her so that she suffocates. I know that her daddies will kill me. I was very upset when I heard the truth about Miri's real parents. I don't know if this is true or not, but I'm glad Miri's real parents are dead. Miri is a pure and innocent girl and deserves to always smile. She should be with her daddies. Those two are better parents for Miri.

Kazuki: Dad as a lovely mom. I love that he became Miri's daddy in such a profound way from the first time he met her. It's as if he's been waiting all his life for the moment when a child calls him daddy. Kazuki's relationship with Miri is sometimes very funny. That he thinks so much about Miri's future and does not want any boy to approach Miri. He is a very cute dad. Kazuki's past and the death of his wife and child were very sad for me. Maybe that was the reason why Kazuki was so afraid of change. But he has Miri now. A girl who really loves him and makes him happy. Kazuki deserves this happy and beautiful family.

Rei: I fell in love with Rei at first sight. His character and style are very cool. He was always tired and playing games or killing people. I love that in his first meeting with Miri he told Kazuki I can shoot that girl to complete our mission and in the last he turned into a man saying Miri is my daughter. Don't you dare to hurt her, otherwise I will kill you myself. Rei needed more time than Kazuki to get to know Miri and become attached to her. On that first day, he even refused to hug Miri, but he slowly approached her, he told the guards that she is my daughter and hugged her, he played with her, he slept in Miri's arms, he took care of her when she was sick, to the party He went to Miri's kindergarten and encouraged her, and in the end, he fought with his family, his own father to protect Miri. It was very interesting that in the end, Kazuki suggested that Miri be sent to an orphanage in another city so that she would be safe, but Rei refused and said that he wanted to stay with Miri for the rest of his life and raise her like his own daughter. Rei made a lot of progress. I swear I wanted to cry when he talked to his father about his love for Miri. Rei has really fallen in love with Miri and loves her more than anyone else. He made a special juice for Miri and called her my princess. This man is an exemplary father. The close bond he developed with Miri and helping Rei and Kazuki take care of Miri was so sweet.

Misaki: I hated her as a mother. I was very angry that she left Miri to go back to her mafia lover. She is your daughter, Bitch. But in the end she also changed. When she got cancer, she realized how precious Miri was to her. She decided to be a good mother to make Miri happy in her last moments. The fact that she regretted what she did is valuable to me, but to be honest, I am happy that she is dead, she does not deserve to be a mother for Miri. She could not be a good mother to Miri.

At the end of this story, it had a wonderful ending. Kazuki and Rei get the happiness they deserve, and Miri lives a happy life with two men who love her more than anyone else. If you want to have happy moments for a few short moments, I suggest you watch this anime.

-and the contestant has officially Gone Berserk tm, what a moment! 1 "traumatizing event" for him

-1 "action" point for basically asking what he needs to do to be allowed to live

-2 "yikes statement" points for this small moment here where he says so many sad things about his current life. he gets a will to live, he loses it, rinse and repeat. he keeps getting hurt every day. he only lives to remember rem

-MENTAL PALACE TIME EVERYONE 1 "traumatizing event" thanks to the fucked up but neat representation of his powers in his mind.

-1 "action" point for not doing nothing after Hoppered basically cursed him for the rest of his life

'Darling?' James called from across the suite.

'Yes, dear?' I replied, reading in the front room.

'Jane's school is on the phone, would you be a dear and talk to them? I was in the middle of something...' he trailed off.

Knowing he was likely in the midst of dismembering one of the hotel waitstaff who has misbehaved at his party last night, I sighed and stood.

'Coming!' I called, smoothing the front of my black housedress, its high-neck collar sitting perfectly on my collarbones. I ashed my cigarette before rushing hastily into the bedroom. James sat perched in the velvet bedside chair, running his fingers over his mustache.

He stood upon my entrance, walking to me and giving me a kiss on the cheek and a squeeze on the rear. I had guessed right. His hair was tousled and his brow was sheen with sweat. He sported only his thin white collared shirt and suspenders. James had obviously been...working.

'I heard the phone from my study, I've no idea what they're calling about,' he briefed me, before retreating back into his private room.

I ran my hands over my chin-length bob and took another drag of my cigarette. I brought the receiver to my ear and spoke.

'Hello, March residence. Y/N March speaking,' I smiled.

'Ah, yes, Mrs. March,' the female voice on the other line replied in an unreadable tone. 'I'm calling from your daughter's school.'

'Yes?' I said, growing impatient. 'What is it?'

'Jane is, well, she needs to be picked up,' the woman stuttered. 'There was an incident and we need a guardian to come to the school as soon as possible.'

'My, i-is she injured?' I asked. 'I- can be there in about ten minutes, i-is that okay?'

'No, Mrs. March, Jane is quite fine,' the female voice clarified. 'I can explain more once you get here.'

I placed the phone back on the hook and hurried over to the bookshelf, pulling out a copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray, and triggering the hidden door to open.

'James!' I called. 'We need someone to go to Jane's school.'

'Just a moment, dear!' he shouted back. 'I'm just about finished.' Quick footsteps came down the hall toward me, followed by James' handsome face.

'Jane's school would like someone to pick her up, they haven't told me an ounce of what's wrong,' I explained, concern in my voice. 'I told them I would come but, obviously, I can't.'

'That's quite alright, my beautiful songbird,' he cooed, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. 'I am sure she's fine. I will send Miss Hanson.'

Miss Hanson was the receptionist at the Hotel Cortez. She was 'me' when I couldn't be 'me.' I knew he had made a vital mistake in not homeschooling Jane. Or in not sending her to James' choice of school. It was only her first day of Kindergarten and there was already an issue.

About an hour later, Miss Hanson walked through the door with Jane in tow. Her head hung low as she crossed the lobby toward James and I. Her little black dress looked so cute paired with her matching stockings and Mary-Jane slippers. The frown on her face was a stark contrast to the cute pigtails I'd put in her soft black hair that morning. The ribbons I'd tied to the ends were gone.

'Oh, my sweet,' I exclaimed, stooping down to her level. 'My sweet rose.' Jane's little legs carried her into my outstretched arms. She crashed into me with all of the force in her tiny body.

James crouched down to meet the familial embrace. 'Whatever is the matter, dear one?' Miss Hanson cleared her throat uncomfortably. James stood to speak with her.

'Jane got into quite some...trouble...today,' the girl started. 'Jane, would you care to tell your Mama and Papa what happened?'

Jane poked her head up from my hug and rubbed her eyes with her tiny fist. 'Eddie stole my Creepy Crawler,' she mumbled.

'What was that, young lady? Speak up,' James demanded.

'E-Eddie stole m-my Creepy Crawler, my bat. S-so I...I,' Jane struggled. We had just bought her a set of toys called 'Creepy Crawlers.' They were plastic bugs, insects, basically any animal considered 'gross.' She took a liking to the plastic bat immediately.

'She punched little Eddie and pinned him to the ground. She strangled him, Mr. and Mrs. March,' Miss Hanson cut in. 'Until he was blue in the face. The teacher noticed before the poor boy was dead, but the school doesn't want her back.'

I looked over at James and saw the brightest light behind his eyes. A small smirk was on his lips. He was right, and he knew it.

'Now, Jane,' James began. 'We knew you wouldn't be like the other kids. From the moment you were born, I saw something in you. My, where'd all the time go?' He paced back and forth in the front of the room, Jane and I sitting as a captive audience to his grand monologue. The one he'd prepared years ago when the discussion of school first came up.

I ashed my cigarette on the ashtray on the coffee table and took a drag. I couldn't help but laugh under my breath at him.

'You are a special little girl. You have the power to see what others cannot,' he continued. 'You can weed out bad from good. You know who to eliminate from this existence. You can see who is utterly useless scum, and you have the power to get rid of them.'

'What Papa is trying to say, dear, is that you're too smart for regular school,' I smiled, patting her head with my free hand.

'Your mother is right. That school was no good,' James smiled.

'So, I'm not in trouble?' Jane asked in a little voice.

'Nonsense, dear one. Quite the opposite. You've found your calling,' he explained. 'So we'd like to send you to a different school. One a bit further away. One where you can truly learn the art of murder.'

'It's a sleepaway school, Jane,' I clarified. 'So, you'll have to go away for a while. But, you won't miss us a bit. It will be so much more fun for you.'

Jane took in the information and nodded. I wasn't sure that she fully understood what we meant, but it was for the best. She wasn't like other kids, and this was the fairest option for her.

James and I saw her and Miss Hanson off that afternoon. We knew we were sending her somewhere safe for kids like her.

When we arrived back at the suite, James grabbed me by the waist and spun me to face him. He pulled me in close and kissed me passionately.

'We've raised our little girl perfectly,' he interrupted, entirely too pleased with himself. 'I only wish we could make another.'

'And I'm entirely too glad we can't,' I chuckled. James swept me off the ground and carried me to the bedroom, slamming the door shut demonstratively behind him.

4 more weeks or 1 month left until the new season starts and I feel like we are currently in the calm before the storm and I am definitely nervous. 😬

This is my rewatch for episode 4 of season 1 and I absolutely adore this episode as shit pretty much hits the fan after this relatively sweet episode. I have a feeling that we won’t have an episode as happy as this one in season 2 so it’s best to enjoy it as much as possible. 😭

IWTV S1 E4: The Ruthless Pursuit of Blood With All a Child’s Demanding

This episode starts out with Daniel talking on his phone to I assume his agent for the book he is going to write about this messy vamps. I wonder if this will be important later?

And of course the sleep paralysis demon that is Armand/ Rashid is just standing there.

Some of the lines he says to Daniel are so archaic it’s crazy people didn’t think he was Armand.

But he has the important job of bringing Daniel to Claudia’s old diaries.

Daniel makes a remark about the tree and Armand says something about an architect which I wonder if that will also be someone from the book that we did not know yet.

And he tells Daniel where to start with the dairies but of course he doesn’t listen and starts reading one towards the end. 😂

Now we are finally starting Claudia’s pov

“You were ready to abandon our home. Now you want a third” Lestat was so hurt by Louis leaving :(

In this version it’s Louis that wants Lestat to turn Claudia instead of Lestat just out right baby trapping him. But that doesn’t mean that Lestat turned Claudia without selfish intentions. He knows if he does this for Louis that he will no longer want to abandon him.

God that look on Lestat’s face when he thinks he’s getting a family. ☺️

Also! No secrets my ass!!!

When I first watched the pleated skirt line it took me out! They are everything!!! 🤣

Claudia is Lestat’s daughter alright. Claudia said ACAB and that is why she is an icon.

This episode is comedic genius!

I LOVE when Lestat sneaks in Louis’s coffin. It’s so sweet and since it’s from Claudia’s pov we can more objectively see the good parts of their relationship. I’m sure if Louis was telling this part of the story that he might have not mentioned their coffin-sharing almost every night.

I also really adore the scene with Louis and Claudia in the boat. In the book Claudia doesn’t actually know why or how she was made but in the show Louis tells her the truth that it was because of him that she was hurt so bad in the fire. I like that he just tells her outright for how she was made. I also really love that when Claudia asks Louis how love works between two men and Louis makes that adorable face. It gives me butterflies!

After that scene, Daniel takes a break and walks in on Rashid/ Armand praying and he notes that he spoke a language that is from the Crimea which is a call back to the book since Armand’s character is originally from that area in Europe. So I think that they will still incorporate that part of Armand’s background in the show too.

This makes Daniel sorta suspicious of Rashid also because of him referring to Dubai as a ‘child’ Also Daniel’s notes on ‘Rashid’ is so funny.

We go back to the unholy family and they are just having a grand old time just being hella cute~

I wonder if the marquis Lestat mentions at Claudia’s birthday is his dad or his oldest brother? It sucks either way because they got guillotined during the revolution.

They look so good in their formation as the leave the wake.

Lestat bringing Claudia to the lovers lane for some dinner isn’t… the best but he is trying to bond with her and he does treat her so sweetly in the scene.

This does awaken something inside her like her sudden need to grow up.

And in her need to grow up she finally meets Charlie as her first love.

In classic vampire fashion Claudia accidentally kills Charlie

And though I hate to admit it Lestat is right when tells his fledglings to stay out of human goings on. He should have just been more sensitive about it when she brought Charlie’s body home.

Louis finally shows back up in the interview! I wonder what was doing other than ‘resting’

Louis so sad about Claudia. 😢

This episode ends so sad and miserable… Poor Claudia 😔

Okay with that ends my s1 episode 4 rewatch.

I am definitely not looking forward to episode 5…. It’s a tough watch but I’ll try to do it next time.

So this fic--podfic--deserves two spots on the list. First because I almost didn’t read it. Star Trek was the first media I can remember watching as a child (dear god, the nightmares from those fucking ear bugs) and it remains one of the nearest and dearest to my heart, so I’m extremely picky about crossovers--but I trusted Sine and it quickly became one of my favorite Trek fics, in or out of the fandom. I’m ALSO picky about podfic--I get very very little time for podfic and I’m super picky narrators on these kinds of things--audiobooks/podfics/podcasts--so I wasn’t sold on the idea, but I had a house to paint and a friend rec’ed it and omg, best decision ever. As emotional as the reading the fic made me, listening to the podfic was even more so. I love it to an unhealthy degree, honestly.

Haven't read all of the Riordan verse books (read the main pjo books and plan on a reread this summer along with heroes of Olympus )(probably on physical form if my bookstore has them since I read them as ebooks the first time)

But!

From best to worse

1.the last Olympian

Spoilers for this one, but the way Luke's character arc shines so brightly and you really get to see him not as the evil, backstabbing villan, but as the abandoned child who wants to help other children, no matter what, no matter how *wrong* the means are along with him becoming a danger against the people he sought to protect, as his justice is build on anger and feelings of revenge was so impressive. Rick's refusal to condemn the character for choosing wrong, giving him the chance of a noble death and redemption? Percy agreeing with Luke's ideas but choosing a peaceful way of achieving them? *Chefs kiss* also Percy's refusal for immortality is a scene that lives rent free in my head.

2. the titans curse

We get some of my favourite characters in this one! Zoe Nightshade, and Nico di Angelo made my heart break in this book as did Bianca whose death I'm STILL not over. I'd also not be able to mention the titans curse without drawing attention to Annabeths physical strength ( a character who is mostly known for her smarts) and self discipline, and determination shining throught the book, as did her bond with Percy.

3. The battle of the labyrinth

Okay okay, controversial one I know, considering that it's most people's first if not second most favourite book and honestly? I can 100% see why. However the underworld is so interesting to me, and Nico's character both hilarious (never getting over him feeding the dead McDonald's) and tragic as he comes in terms with his grief,has so many parallels with Luke, both angry and grieving, both abandoned and both seeking justice in less than ideal ways, reaching redemption (okay Nico thankfully without the dying part) are so very dear to me.

4. The sea of monsters

Okay I don't have many things to say about this one, I love Tyson so so very much, and his bond with Percy is so precious to me! The adventure in this one, and the allyship between Clarisse and the main trio? Hilarious and 10/10! The friendship between Grover and Percy shining through makes this a 5/5 star worthy book for me!

5. The lighting thief

It's good! It's great! It's setting the tone for Percy's character and has so many fun little quests ( also the book with the second most iconic Sally scenes) however it doesn't have the emotional depth to me that the other books have!

Over the past few days we’ve received a barrage of questions about this year’s notables, so I figured we’d start with the oldest and work our way down to the newest models.

First up in the hot seat: Theo Fairchild

Q: Sooooo, asking for a friend, what do I have to do to get Theo Fairchild to notice me?

A: Be interesting. Or half naked. Those are my best suggestions. If you’re looking for something more specific then I’ve heard before that the way to Theo’s heart is through books. First editions, usually, because he’s posh like that. He likes 200 year old copies of Shakespeare and ancient Grimoires written in dead languages, so good luck with that

Q: Morning Blackheart! What’s with all the bruises on the pretty boy man child?

A: That would be courtesy of the Blackthorn fight club, where our dear Theo is a regular, maybe too regular if you ask me. Who the hell enjoys getting their face beat in that often?? He usually wins, of course, but almost never before his opponent has gotten half a dozen nauseatingly brutal hits in. You’d almost think he’s doing it on purpose.

Q: Can you tell us more about Theo’s relationship with his dad?

A: Unfortunately, this is one subject even I don’t know all that much about. Information on Beaumont Fairchild is scarce on a good day. He was at Blackthorn once, and now he’s not. He’s never been seen on campus, and no one talks about him, especially not Theo. I gather their relationship isn’t spectacular, but then again, Blackthorn students tend not to be big fans of mommy and daddy — unless they’re using their Amex black card 💳

Q: What’s Theo’s major?

A: Theo is a classics major. I know, I can’t believe it either. It’s all books and spells and dead languages for him. Personally, I didn’t think he’d have enough brain cells left for deciphering spells from ancient epics after his fifth concussion, but who am I to judge?

Q: Can we get a zodiac sign/love language/seven deadly sins low down for Theo?

A: Sigh, why not? Theo is a Leo (hey look, it rhymes), his love language is physical touch (might have something to do with wanting touch that doesn’t bruise, but you didn’t hear that from me), and his deadly sin is wrath 😈

Dear fans of Unikitty and subscribers of my blog. The author of the blog is in touch with you and I have big news for you, since it depends on the plot in my AU, and I will also tell you about a couple of works for the near future.

1) I've been dragging my feet with this statement for a long time, but I decided to express it right now – I'm getting rid of the character of Cornelia in my AU.

More than a year has passed since I created her, and earlier I didn't regret that I created her.

Initially, she was conceived as a child of Unikitty and one canon character (that is, yes, I literally "aged" Unikitty for this idea) so that she also had a child from the company of 7 main characters. And it was my mistake: the fact is that no one had ever thought of complaining or writing to me directly before that it was better to change everything and "return the old age" to the princess, which at first was not easy because of Cornie. But later I still noticed that I completely stopped developing the Unikitty × the canon character relationship, and therefore I finally got rid of this peering, but I will clean everything and rewrite chapter 1 of "Santa Frown" by the end of this fall, if not later.

It would seem that the problem was solved, but it was not there: since Cornie was previously the daughter of Unikirty, I had to do something so that I would not be accused of anything, and I decided to turn Cornelia into the third (adopted) sibling of Unikitty and Puppycorn, and it was written well in the end. But over time, realization came to me.

The realization that I seem to be "deliberately ignoring" Unikitty, passing everything to Cornelia, as if I am thereby "killing" Unikitty and just not touching her.

And because of this realization, I made two decisions for myself, one of which I'll choose and completely change everything – either I A) literally kill Unikitty and Cornelia will be "her face", or B) I get rid of Cornelia for the good of my AU. The answer didn't take long to wait for myself and I chose plan B. That's right, I decided to "erase" Cornelia from AU so that she would not overshadow Unikitty and take an active part in various trials and funny stories.

I consider the creation of Princess Cornelia in AU to be my BIGGEST mistake that I did and I'm terribly ashamed that you saw everything I did with her and I want to "clear" my conscience by deleting/editing ALL posts related to Cornie/her relationship with Uni n' Pup.

But, if it weren't for this deliberate innovation, I might never have created my own mascot for my creativity. In other words, she is dead in MJ AU, but I resurrect her as part of her becoming my mascot for my creativity. After all, the design doesn't disappear, does it?

it WAS IMPORTANT for me and for my brainchild, and I do not regret that I made such a difficult choice.

2) On works for the near future – COMICS! Yes, I really want to draw comics and I have a spoiler for you with the participation of Jacob's company!

Also REDESIGNS and stories of Old concepts of both existing characters and wasps for AU. And also the Unikingdom citizens will be affected and only some will have children. I won't spoil it too much, as I have a lot more to tell you.
