honestly same...I also only stick to reading the same ifs I've been reading since like 2 years ago + as a disabled lgbt person this community has gotten to toxic to interact wth tbh

hmmm putting this under a read more but here's some ramblings about my personal experience as well as some advice if anyone wants it

before i started writing tnp, when i was just a reader, it was very easy to curate my space and avoid a lot of the nastier people (especially back when the forums were the main space for people to talk about IF. i didn't go on the forums at all) and i was very much outside of the fandom and followed only like one artist whose recommendations i started off with before finding more stuff on my own.

once i became an author though it is impossible to avoid certain groups of people and it's really hard to hold on to that comfortable space. over the last like 3 years now my audience has definitely changed and dwindled a lot due to my.... Big personality but before that i had to endure a lot of harassment, people stalking me, people harassing my friends just for being my friend, almost constant transphobia and racism, and even now i still have people that seem to just camp in my inbox waiting for any opportunity to try and hurt me/get a reaction out of me.

i've been pretty open about all of this stuff happening too which most people also don't like, though that seems to be pretty standard across any fandom when you try to talk about how bad they are. i'm never really surprised when other authors delete without any warning or they just slowly stop posting and never come back. it's definitely something i've wanted to do more than once and still think about sometimes. even now after finally seeming to find my "niche" and a more understanding audience, it's really hard and i struggle with finding inspiration and motivation because of how people have treated me.

unfortunately i think it's always been this way, it's the nature of sharing work online and especially with IF feeling so "collaborative" people really feel entitled to it. and i also see readers facing this same kind of harassment, too, so it's definitely not just an author problem.

my advice is to just block and ignore people as best you can and just stay in your own little bubble with your friends or at least people that you trust. if you're an author going through any of the things i mentioned then just know there are a lot of other authors that have had to go through it, too, and that you should also just block and ignore to the best of your ability. just because you're an author doesn't mean you have to tolerate it. i used to respond to a lot of messages which is why i feel that a lot of my harassment lasted for so long, because they thought it was "funny" to upset me, but the more you respond and give them attention the more they'll keep doing it. so just block anons and move on (i know i make it sound so simple. trust me i used to be really bad about it, now i try to take at least a day or two before responding and usually by that time i realize how stupid it is and i just delete it without any fanfare)

at the end of the day though it's your decision, and your well-being comes first before anything else. i say this to both authors and readers, there's no reason to force yourself to stay in a place that makes you uncomfortable or is triggering. sometimes it's better to just let go and move on, though i know that's easier said than done. i'm a prime example as someone who still logs into tumblr daily despite trying really hard not to do that.

and i'm not saying to give up on your work, but rather that writing privately is always an option, and it's what i've been doing now with my other projects ever since i took siren's call down. i know the desire for outside validation can be overwhelming but i think it's important to remember that you should be writing this for yourself first and that there's no harm in keeping your work private until you're ready. tumblr is fun but there's also a lot of problems that can be difficult to deal with while you're also trying to keep motivation and creativity up to write your story, and it can be really discouraging.

like i said, your first priority should be yourself, and if you have to step back away from tumblr/fandom then you should & you shouldn't feel guilty about it.

all of that to say that there are nice people out there, too, i've made really good friends here and i really value their friendship and their understanding, especially when i was going through the worst of it. and there are a lot of readers who have been very kind to me and that have sent me very nice messages and drawn lovely art over the years and i always try to focus on that over everything else.

it can be really easy to get overwhelmed by all the negativity and hostility which is why it's so important to find your people and be supportive of each other.

My 3rd Dream of Gun Park✨

GOOD MORNING!! OK SOOO… I had another weird dream with Gun in it. Three times the charm, right? 😭 (SORRY, I HAD TO DELETE THE PREV POST BC I REALIZED I ACCIDENTALLY PUT “Post” INSTEAD OF “Save”. I’m dumb 😓) AND WHY IS IT ALWAYS HIM IN MY DREAM? I MEAN, I’M NOT MAD ABOUT IT BUT AT LEAST PUT SOMEONE ELSE IN IT FOR ONCE. Like Goo, or Jake, or EVEN SAMUEL. Alright, but this time, he isn’t being a total butt. He was actually nicer. A LOT nicer than the last dream I had with him in it. This was what he was wearing:

But his hair wasn’t fixed like that. It was the other hairstyle that had his hair parted onto one side. For some reason, he decided to buy me a ticket to go see an American hockey game at night. I’m not even a hockey fan btw and I wasn’t even interested whatsoever. But, I decided to go with him because I’ve never seen one either. He wanted to go because he was curious to see what was the appeal for Americans to watch a sport where they use sticks to score points for a team. (This was because Goo mentioned this to him before during work and he found it ridiculous. He should’ve thought about croquet too. They use mallets or something, I don’t know.) The ticket that he got for me were FRONT SEAT TICKETS TOO!!! LIKE WTH??? Big flex, but ok…? 💀💀💀 Honestly, I was getting interested in the game but on his end, he seemed kind of bored. TOO bored. It wasn’t even half-way into the game, and he already wanted to bail. I felt his hand slid onto mine as he gave it a tight squeeze before standing up from his seat and said, “Let’s go.” Confused, I got up as well and followed right behind him out of the arena with his grip still on my hand. Once we got outside of the arena, he dragged me away from the parking lot where I was expecting him to take me back to his car, but we were heading around the back of the arena. “Gun, where are we going?! Isn’t the car the other way around?!” With one swift pull, my back landed against the wall and he planted his hands strongly on both of my sides. Anxiously, I looked at both of my sides and asked nervously, “W-what the hell do you think you’re doing…?” When Gun’s face leaned in closer, he whispered, “What do you think I’m doing?” My eyes widened in surprise as I gasped and asked him loudly, “ARE YOU SERIOUS?! HERE OF ALL PLACES?!” Gun put his index finger onto his lips briefly, hushing me to be quiet. “If you stay quiet, then this could work.” Blushing furiously, I hissed at him saying, “Are you crazy?! Why do you want to do it here? Couldn’t this wait until later? I thought we have somewhere to go after this!” Gun chuckled mischievously as he replied with, “Dinner can wait. We’re too early anyways, so we still have a lot of time to kill.” Scrunching my eyebrows in disbelief, I answered, “But what if we get caught?” Gun shook his head with that foxy grin still displayed on his face. “We won’t.” I looked at him skeptically until he repeated himself once more. “Trust me, we won’t. If you stay quiet, then we won’t.” You protest again saying, “Ok, but what if-” However, the rest of my words were silenced with an unexpected kiss. From the night sky above, the moon revealed itself from the dark clouds that was previously shrouding it, shining moonlight down onto me and Gun. The nightshade illuminated Gun’s handsome facial features underneath the moon’s wakening. With my arms wrapping around his neck over his shoulders, entangling onto his soft hair from behind his head, I pulled him closer, letting the night naturally take us wherever this might go…

*FAST FORWARD TO ABOUT AN HOUR LATER*

Gun and I managed to arrive at the place where we were supposed to have dinner at. The restaurant was painted in light pink carnation walls and decorated with gold plated trinkets, but the atmosphere was harboring romanticism, with its dimmed French-styled chandeliers suspended up above wherever I went, as if I was walking through the Palace of Versailles. Thank god, we both made it in time after [CENSORED]. We were both seated at a table with a romantic display of a vase holding a flower bouquet of roses placed at the side of the table, with a small candle flickering softly beside it. Once the two of us took our orders, the waiter left us alone for us to exchange words about our earlier escapade.

“How was it?”

“How was… what?”

He smirked at my obliviousness, as if I had forgotten that we [CENSORED]. While I was observing the flowers, I realized what he was talking about, as my head slowly turned towards him with my face gradually shifting to an embarrassed caricature.

“And you’re going to bring that up… NOW?”

With that devilishly attractive grin of his, he took a sip out of his tea. Before setting it down in such a sophisticated manner, he crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair with pride plastered on his face.

“What? You didn’t enjoy it? Last time I remembered, you were-”

Already dying in embarrassment, I quickly leaned over the table and clasped my hand over his mouth to prevent him from continuing any further.

“Just shut up, will you?!”

I felt his hand gently grab onto my hand that was covering his mouth then slowly pulled it away from himself, relieving himself from my sudden abruptness. With a “Hmph.” I returned back to my seat and crossed my arms in return.

With his right arm now resting on the arm rest of his fancy chair, he leaned and rested the side of his head onto the back of his hand, while observing my very movements. Admiring my physical facial features, my facial expressions, and my eyes bashfully averting his over the candlelight, he gave me a warm smile.

“Every time, you never fail to amuse me.”

With my eyes now glaring at him, I said through gritted teeth, “Shut up and just wait for the damn food to come…”

The two of you sat there in comfortable silence, until the food arrived. The majority of the time when we ate together, we conversed in various topics about each other’s lives. How was work? How was school? Is work treating you well? (“Of course it isn’t. It’s Goo, we’re talking about.”) By having dinner and talking about the little things with this simple-minded man before me, was already enough to make me feel contentment. His constant complaints made me laugh, which made him admire my happy face over dinner. Leaving him feeling satisfied over a wonderful and successful night out with me…

Bro! I just read all the parts of Good Boy you posted and it’s like… so good??? And gross??? But awesome??? Idk man, it made me feel horrible for Finney but it also touched on SO MANY THINGS I wanted to explore myself but couldn’t figure out an interesting way to portray😩👌. Like Part 5 where you get into how Finney’s life was already pretty trash before the Grabber: Dude was getting relentlessly harassed and beaten by his bullies and the Dad, while shown to have some love in him, was definitely making a choice to be that awful to his children. I don’t see it addressed enough how Finney was already dealing with abuse CONSTANTLY when he couldn’t catch a nice moment for himself, so the fact that the GRABBER of all people was who brought attention to it and offered his own fucked up comfort in the end? Wth man?? I’m crying 😭. Then you addressed MORE of the poor kid’s abuse by having him FORCED TO GET DRUNK AND WORRYING ABOUT TURNING INTO HIS FATHER. You’re truly horrible for that my guy, but I really have to applaud you for writing it all so well and not dropping the ball on how gross and terrible everything is throughout (like no wonder you mentioned taking breaks lol, now if only the poor boy could get one). I’ve got more I wanna say but am too tired to type, so just know I would TOTALLY reblog your story if a) I had followers 😆 and b) It was a less gruesome subject. Sorry I can’t help much with interactions on that story, but understand that you should definitely be proud of what you posted because it was so. Well. Written. I really wish Finney's life before the Grabber - the violence and bullying and abuse - were more recognized. This kid has a hard life even before being kidnapped. He's a strong willed and kind character despite it all.

I have an ending in mind that isn't quite happy or depressing, just closure to it all. I'll get back to writing it one of these days.

I finished Golden Wildfire, so I decided to share my thoughts. This is mainly on the Eisner family. As little screen-time as they get, I actually have a lot to say. I’ll get to Claude in a separate post since this is gonna be long.

I recruited Byleth and Jeralt - oh my god, that whole chapter was such a pain. I had to restart four times, I think? Eventually I figured out bookmarks, but they do not make it easy. Nor do they give clear instructions, especially since it works nothing like recruiting any other unit. I definitely fucked it up the first time. Got to see Jeralt and Judith die before I restarted. When I get to that point in SB and AG, I’m looking it up beforehand. 

Everyone talking about Claude, but much less talk about Sothis. WTH? Her being pissed in the scene she shows up in makes sense - Byleth is nearly killed by someone who’s related to the Agarthans and Sothis clearly has more of her memories here. That’s not the part I think is stupid (though referring to Byleth as her vessel is a huh? moment). It’s the scene after. They made her seem downright evil, acting like Byleth is a meat-puppet, which is not how Sothis ever acted before (and Sothis does get her memories back somewhat by the time they merge in 3H, so no, her memories aren’t an excuse). Just changing the dialogue in that scene would have improved things, like her saying hey, ‘I was just trying to protect you! A little thanks would be nice!’ Something closer to her actual character.

Arval is so disconnected with the story. Even getting his backstory, you only get half of what’s going on. Is Shez his descendent? Actually, what is the deal with Shez? Maybe more is revealed in other routes. BUT! When Arval takes over Shez to attack Byleth? That was pretty dope, not gonna lie. That whole chapter was intense. And then the whole thing’s dropped. No one going to ask why Arval was after Byleth in the first place? Especially since Arval does indirectly hint at something unusual about Byleth while in Zahras. 

Byleth and Shez’s A support was interesting. Was Byleth implying that she and Sothis have completely merged at this point? But then at the end, when Shez walks away, Byleth says that what she told Shez came from the goddess. So either Sothis is still there, talking to Byleth and wanted Byleth to convey her feelings on the matter or Byleth and Sothis merged completely and Byleth now views herself as sort-of inheriting that position. 

Rhea recognizes Byleth as Sitri’s child and is pretty distraught to be fighting her, at least in the final battle. The first battle, Rhea doesn’t believe it could be Byleth, because why would they be fighting each other? Notice that Rhea refers to Byleth as Sitri’s child, not Sothis’s vessel, because Rhea placed the crest stone in Byleth to save her life, not to make her a vessel. It just worked out that way.

Rhea and Jeralt also have some interesting battle dialogue. Rhea is surprised and sad to be fighting Jeralt the first time. Jeralt, for all the trust he lost in Rhea, isn’t actually all that happy to be fighting her and is clearly only doing it because he’s getting paid. He repeatedly says that the relationship is complicated. He doesn’t trust her, but he doesn’t hate her. By the second battle, Rhea is legit angry at Jeralt, saying that he better not make her regret saving him. These two interactions really show that yes, they used to be good friends. On that note...

Jeralt and Rhea met 300 years ago. Finally! Age confirmation for Jeralt! Which means Jeralt was around for the last major conflict in Fodlan.

Jeralt and Byleth’s A-support is filled with irony. Byleth:’I wish I got to see the Officer’s Academy’. Jeralt:’You’d be a student. Not like you’re qualified to be a teacher, right?’ Oh boy... But their supports do show just how important Jeralt is to Byleth. It seems like Byleth is content following her father around. As long as he’s around, she’s happy. But it’s also a detriment to her. She’s clearly doesn’t think she should lead - that’s her father’s thing. 3H repeatedly says that Byleth really changed after becoming a teacher, but it’s interesting to see what she was like before she was encouraged to come into her own.

Leonie’s interactions with Jeralt are nice, and Leonie’s jealousy of Byleth does get brought up. Shez calls her out on it during their supports, saying that duh Jeralt is closer with Byleth, that’s his kid. But it was nice getting more insight on when Jeralt and Leonie met, and where Byleth was. Turns out she was too young to go on jobs. I don’t think it’s mentioned directly, but I guess that means someone was babysitting Byleth while Jeralt did his thing. Jeralt admits several times he’s really not a great father and that he isn’t really suited for it (even though he really does love Byleth - bring Jeralt along on the mission when Arval is attacking Byleth and you can hear the Papa Wolf start to come out), but he wasn’t completely irresponsible.

Jeralt only taught Byleth the basics of swordplay and how to live as a mercenary. Everything else was talent/instinct. Even he has no idea how that happened. Just an interesting tidbit.

Wish Jeralt and Byleth would have shared their thoughts on Byleth’s nickname. 3H implies she doesn’t like it (she’s visibly upset when Hanneman mentions it), but not a peep here. I get why the developers wanted to use it (Byleth doesn’t have the Professor moniker and the name is customizable, so they needed something to refer to her as) and having Byleth say she doesn’t like it would make its usage awkward. Still something I wished could have been brought up.

Why is Alois there? When did he join up? He just up and appears with Jeralt and Byleth. I believe Ignatz is the one who questions when Alois left the knights, but it still is something that’s left in the air. Maybe it gets answered in AG, since you get to see the Church’s side?

I wished they’d show Byleth interacting with the others. I know they didn’t give her supports because she supports everyone in 3H and it might be redundant, but it would have bee nice to see how everyone reacts to her when they don’t know her as a professor. This is really made worse because she sends a letter to Shez at the end of the route, saying how she finally made friends. And yes, she says friends, plural. So why didn’t we get to see that? 

I’m sure there’s more I could say, but I think I’ll wait until I played the other routes.

Ok so I decided to finally post the promised: defending Romione (🥺💗💕💖💞💘) against Dr*mione (ಠಿ_ಠ) shippers.

So I've read a few posts about Dr*mione shippers, talking about why their ship is amazing (which had nothing to do with canon btw) and bashing Ron (for no reason) and I'm literally shaking out of anger.

Here are my thoughts:

1. "Ron is too dumb for hermione"

Stop- Just-

Stop.

RON IS NOT DUMB.

Yes, he might not be very interested in school subjects, but 👏 that 👏 doesn't 👏 mean 👏 he 👏 is 👏 dumb 👏.

He is actually very smart! He beat McGonagall's chess game, he is logical and quick-thinking. There's MANY examples of this that I won't name right now, but it's a canonical fact. Ron. Is. Not. Dumb.

And consider he was dumb. So? Would that stop Romione from happening? NO! Hermione didn't mind Ron not being smart. She was just upset that Ron was lazy and wouldn't study anything until the last minute. She wanted to get both Harry and Ron to study according to a schedule.

Is it clear? Intelligence doesn't determine love.

**And this is something that confuses me. This doesn't have anything to do with the point, but why does nobody realize that Harry isn't much smarter than Ron? Yes, he was better at DADA but that requires TALENT, not intelligence. And I'm pretty sure we all know that Ron is talented as well (hopefully everyone realizes that). Nobody uses the fact that Harry wasn't intelligent against Harmione, but everyone uses the fact that Ron wasn't intelligent against Romione. The double standards tear apart the fandom.

2. "Ron bought hermione perfume and Draco could get her something better."

Soooo, you're saying that just because Ron didn't have the money that Draco had means that Hermione didn't deserve Ron?

Wow, this just says a lot about you dr*mione shippers. You only care about the money that Draco has, not his personality. You don't like Ron because he's poor (and I know how FanFics give the "kind Draco" Ron's canon personality so the only "problem" with Ron is his looks and lack of money). And you don't see Hermione nor Ron the way they are. This "point" of yours is literally stating that Hermione should be a gold-digger and get Draco because he can get her the expensive presents that she deserves. Yikes.

3. "Draco can understand the emotional side of Hermione while Ron can't."

Wait

What?

WHERE DO YOU GET THIS IDEA FROM-

Draco is only EVER concerned about his own self, he is a NARCISSIST. He would NEVER care for someone (let alone Hermione) as purely and truly as he cared about himself. He didn't even care about Crabbe, Goyle, Pansy Parkinson etc. He was selfish. The only reason he could express his emotions was because he had to go through a lot since he realized that killing Dumbledore wasn't as easy as bullying Hermione. This would never ever work.

And even if Ron didn't understand her as much, he STILL comforted her. Take the beginning chapters of The Deathly Hallows as an example. You'll see.

4. "Ron is too immature."

I need help.

Of course Ron was immature when he was 11!! Yes, he acted immaturely many times, yes, he made many mistakes, but guess what? He changed! He changed for Hermione!! Draco didn't change at all, not for Hermione, nor for anyone else. He remained the same bratty bully.

If you could reread the books and read prisoner of azkaban vs deathly hallows, you will definitely see how much Ron has matured. He doesn't argue with Hermione anymore, he comforts her, he's there for her. Yes, he made a mistake but he was manipulated by the horcrux! We don't blame Ginny for what tom riddle's diary made her do, do we? So stop blaming Ron!

Anyways, I think if dr*mione shippers have read the books, they'll know what I'm talking about when I say Ron changed for Hermione. I honestly don't know how you could miss Ron's character arc.

5. "Ron would be jealous of the brilliant Hermione."

What?

If I remember correctly, the reason Draco bullied the trio was because he was jealous of them. His jealousy turned into a 7 year torture for the trio and now you're saying that Ron is the jealous one? Please.

But anyways, Ron has been jealous of Harry and has made a few mistakes. But there are reasons behind them and I can defend him for each of these with arguments other than "everyone makes mistakes" (cough cough* Draco stans* cough cough).

First of all, Ron has admitted being jealous of Harry's fame because he lives with 5 older brothers who outshine him. But that's not really a mistake because he never let it get in his way. There were only 2 situations in 7 years when he left Harry out of jealousy but I think these have different explainations.

No1 Ron left in goblet of fire. I think the real reason that Ron let his jealousy get in his way this time, was not only because Harry got to participate in the tournament which could bring him eternal glory, but more likely because he was disappointed that his own best friend didn't even tell him that he was entering and didn't even help him participate (which wasn't true, but Ron thought so back then).

No2 Ron left in deathly hallows. This one was 100% because of the horcrux and I think we should all accept this by now and stop hating on Ron for being affected by dark magic.

And just like that, Ron never let his jealousy get in his way of friendships. I can't think of a situation where Ron is jealous of the brilliant Hermione so if you remember, please let me know so I can argue against it. <3

Coming from a person who has read and reread the books multiple times, I can assure you that Ron did many things for Hermione.

Of course, he was immature at first, he was mean to her, but slowly he started seeing more of the good in Hermione and started changing for her.

And even when he was immature, he still cared about Hermione and would protect her no matter what.

Let's remember how many times rubbish Ron stood up for Hermione against the brilliant bully Draco. 🥰

Let's remember how cowardly Ronald faced his fears of spiders to help Hermione (and the rest of the school, just how jerkier can he get?). 🥰

Let's remember how ridiculous Ronniekins stood up for Hermione against sensational Snape and got himself into detention (oh yes, this is the book version of the movie moment where Ron agrees with Snape about Hermione being an 'insufferable know-it-all'). 🥰

Let's remember how rotten Ronny comforted Hermione when she was worried about Hagrid and Buckbeak (and he even let her hug him and cry on his shoulder, how rude). 🥰

Let's remember how horrendous Ron attempted to hex Draco when he used a slur that was meant to offend Hermione. 🥰

Keep in mind that all of these were done when Ron was still immature and still argued a lot with Hermione.

As much as I hate the c*rsed ch*ld, I can tell you that it did its job portraying Ron and Hermione's unconditional love. Even in alternative realities, where they didn't get married, they were still in love.

And why would you even think that Ron and Hermione would marry and have kids if they didn't love each other? I need explainations.

I'm sorry, what? I'm genuinely confused??

What do you even mean by this? Yeah, they used to argue a lot, and? Ron thinks Hermione is brilliant and wonderful and he follows her advice. I can't recall a moment where Ron won't listen to Hermione, doesn't agree with her and ruins her plans. Anyone else?

Since this one is a big mess and a confusion, I'll move on to the next one until someone explains the points and arguments.

10. "Draco could make Hermione laugh while Ron couldn't."

Do I really need to say anything for this one?

Ron was the funniest one from the trio, that's why Harry enjoyed his company so much! Don't you remember the line in goblet of fire where Harry thinks about how much he misses having Ron as his best friend, because without him there's less fun and less laughs? I do.

But what I don't remember is finding Draco's sense of humor funny. I'm sorry but his intellectual level is almost as low as Crabbe and Goyle's. His insults are none other than Potty and Weaselbee, he only got 3 O.W.L.s and all of his jokes were stupid and dumb and their only purpose was insulting people he was jealous of.

Anyways, I'm going to stop here. I've delayed this post for very long and I'm so excited to finally post it!

I read a book on wattpad by a dr*mione shipper and it was nothing but a giant headache. That's where I got all of these statements from. Most of the garbage in the book revolved around Draco and Hermione being inseparable and getting over all obstacles (wth) and other stupid stuff like that which really annoyed me. The book was called "why we love dr*mione" and it was by Bittenwizard. You can read and enjoy! Trust me, you'll have lots of content to post about after that 🤠👍

little to no PDA, especially when you’re around strangers. if it’s just friends then sure, linking arms would be cute but that’s pretty much all. when you’re in private he’s practically begging you to hold him (taken from my enhypen as boyfriends post)

when you’re sitting on benches or sofas, in diners for example, and he’s sat beside you, he’ll make you jump sometimes by placing his hand on top of yours that was resting on the seat. when you get startled, he’ll just flash you a gummy smile and giggle a little leaving everyone around you questioning what you pair are giggling at. ugh and he loves to do that thing where you high five and then hold hands afterwards just so casually, and he smiles at you while the pads of his fingers rub over your knuckles.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

more likely to have a best friend that isn’t in his immediate friendship group. you spend time together alone rather than with other people since you’re the only people on that wavelength lmao. you are rarely ever seen together, but people you’re best friends, like they just know.

his advice would be top tier. sometimes, you didn’t follow your friend's advice, but if it was jungwon’s, you followed it because you knew it was absolutely the right thing for you to do. he cares a lot about you and thinks about your situation deeply, eventually coming to a conclusion on what exactly you should do in order to resolve your situation and most of the time it works.

you sass each other out like no one else can. like they can try, but no one makes jokes about the other in the same way that you two can, just because you know each other so well.

on your birthday, he posts all the embarrassing videos and pictures he has of you on his stories along with some sarcastic message about how you’re becoming old but it’s kinda cute and always leaves you in tears.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

he's not that much of a cuddler but when you do,,, he’s the little spoon whether you like it or not 😡 he wants to be held, it’s like a safety thing for him. when you hold him, he likes to tease you too, like he’ll flick his hair around jokingly to get your attention or to stop you from falling asleep. when you’re cuddling face to face, he likes pouting at you or doing his little “🥺” face to get you to kiss him. when you finally kiss him he’s like “bruh wth was that ew” but tickles your sides to let you know that he does actually approve. oh and he’s very giggly when you cuddle early on in your relationship. like he’s relaxed but he can’t help but giggle cos it’s so cute, you’re so cute.

when you guys watch a film together on the sofa, he likes to slowly bring his head to your shoulder and let it rest there for a while before you throw your arm over him and bring him closer into your side while his hand rests on your thigh/knee. when he looks up at you, again, all “🥺” and whatnot, he knows that it melts your heart so he giggles and invites you into his arms instead so you can rest on him for a bit.

it’s not really cuddling, but while lying next to each other, he always initiates a little playful game of footsie just to annoy you and get you to focus on him, and hopefully eventually cuddle him.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

his cleaning and cooking skills could do with some improvement, but it’s okay he gets the job done hehe. he’s confident when ordering take always on the phone and that’s more important than his cooking skills anyway 😭 he likes to do jobs around the house and thinks of his jobs as just part of life, something he has to do, so he never complains about them or does a bad job.

he’s still very young, he’s not thinking of settling down any time soon. sure meeting the love of his life would be great, but he’d still keep the relationship pretty innocent and non-serious until he got older. he’s definitely dating to marry, not for any other reason. he’s not just looking for fun to pass the time or for someone’s heart to break, it’s just it’s not that serious right now.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

i don’t think he’d struggle that much doing it face to face. he definitely couldn’t do it by text or by phone call, the only way he would break up with you is face to face. the reasoning would probably be along the lines of “we’re still young” or “this is too much for me right now”. he really doesn’t want to break your heart so he goes about it in a mature way. he explains his side of the story, listens to your side and finally reiterates his point just so that you know that it’s nothing wrong on your part, but it’s still over. i don’t see him being friends with his ex after the split to be honest, if he breaks up with you that’s it. but that’s not to say you guys can’t rekindle an old flame at a later date.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

wow wow wow marriage? that’s a little bit much. he’s a kid, don’t scare him with such a big commitment until you've been together for at least 5 years and he’s a little bit older. he’s excited to propose to you and he does occasionally think of how the moment will go down, but it’s never serious enough to actually do it just yet.

obviously, he wants devotion, it’s love after all. commitment is a huge part of any relationship and he wants you to know from the get go that he’s looking at you and only you.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

with his own emotions, he’s not that gentle unfortunately. there’s not much that can break this boy, probably because he’s been forced to grow up so quickly (i get big sad myself thinking abt that oh god) and so he doesn’t let things get to him in the way that others would. he doesn’t like to let other people see him cry, he rarely cries anyway so letting other people see him when he does is a big no no, even if they’ve known him for a while. i think something that does upset him is failure, whether it’s him or someone he’s close to. he doesn’t want to see anyone fail when he knows how much work they’ve put into something, so that upsets him a lot.

with you, he’s very gentle, he wants this to last so he naturally does everything in his power to make sure that he’s giving off this gentle aura. he’s forever smiling at you, whenever you make eye contact he flashes you a small little smile just to let you know that here’s there. he’s there to laugh with you when you need it most, and trust me, he knows when you need someone to laugh with. he listens to you well, he takes on board your concerns and brings back to you practical advice without making you feel condescended. he’d love to be able to help you out more than he already does, but he’s just too busy. any free time he has, he spends it with you, and you do the same too, but it just seems like there’s not enough hours in the day for him to help you with everything that he wants to :(.

this may not seem gentle, but jungwon will tell you what you need to hear. it’s not always what you want to hear, but it’s from the heart. he’s always honest with you because it’s for your own good, he only wants the best for you.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

when he’s tired, the only place he wants to be is in your arms. he stumbles through the door and stands there for a while, waiting for you to come and hug him so that he can rest his head on yours or on your shoulder. he likes it when he can stroke your hair while hugging because you hum into his shoulder and it’s like music to his ears.

when he sees you standing alone at home, often looking like your in a trance, he’ll wrap his arms around you from the back and almost jump on you to scare you. he’ll climb off you and land back on the floor, loosening his arms and expecting you to turn around so he can kiss you on the nose as an apology.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

he doesn’t say the words lightly. when he says them to you, he really means it. he'd make a big deal out of saying it even thought he just drops it into conversation, he might even cry (which i already said, he doesn’t do that often) because he’s just so pleased to have met you and started this relationship with you that he hopes will last forever. he will drop it into a casual conversation, making the atmosphere become intimate and deep, he likes that he can do that and that you’re not phased by it (despite getting a little flustered, but that’s only natural and he wants you to react in that way hehe) he’d be sat there explaining to you how you make him feel, how secure and comfortable he is with you and why he loves you, tearing up as he speaks because it’s really coming from his heart.

he’s actually not that anxious to say it, and that’s probably just because he truly means it and that it’s a very natural thing for him to say given the circumstances.

he doesn’t tell a lot of people that he loves them, so you must be really special to him.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

his silence is a great tell of whether he’s jealous or not. he’s likely to give you the silent treatment if he feels you’ve done something to make him feel jealous, or will sit in silence around you and whoever is making him feel jealous. he’d just sit and stare at you both, it’s a little intimidating but easily mistaken for him just looking at you after a small disagreement so no one ever questions it. it’s basically over to you to resolve the situation because he doesn’t want to mess things up on his own. he trusts you enough to make a sound judgement on what to do when he’s jealous and there’s got to be a reason why you’re still together, right?! because you always know how to make things right with him.

he doesn’t like it when you get jealous though. like he gets it, everyone gets jealous sometimes, but he can’t really see why you’re jealous at times, leaving you to figure out your pettiness on your own. he wouldn’t be afraid to tell people to back off and makes it known that he’s in a relationship anyway, he respects you a lot and hopes that other people do too, so there’s no real reason for you to get jealous.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

cheeky little kisses while you’re talking just because he can. brushing that annoying bit of hair out of your mouth then kissing you because he can. kissing your forehead then pulling away and giggling just because he can. he kisses you all the time, just because he can :) (taken from my enhypen as boyfriends post)

he gets kind of shy when he has the opportunity to kiss you in front of others. like he really wants to, but he always feels like the kisses you share have that “first kiss on the playground at school” kinda vibe with everyone’s watching on lmao. so for that reason, he doesn’t kiss you regularly in front of other people, but he'd rather save that intimate treat for just the two of you anyway.

sometimes, when he’s feeling like cringing you out in the most ironic way, he’ll kiss your hand and smile at you, waiting for your reaction to his silliness.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

too busy crying over their cuteness to interact, give him a sec.

actually, he’s surprisingly good with kids. other than the fact that he had to take breaks to go scream about how cute they are, he gets along with them and the kids warm to him a lot. he gets what they want, he just knows, and he can always supply.

(i don’t really wanna talk about or even think about him having kids bc he’s still a minor so i’m sorry if that’s what you wanted from this part :/)

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

he never wants to get up. he literally wants to lie in bed forever, especially if you’re there with him. he complains when you try and get him up, no matter how awake he is at the time, he does not want to leave the bed and will in fact tangle himself up in the sheets.

on work days, you two just have separate morning routines at different times. you usually only bump into each other when he’s showering and you wanna brush your teeth or something. you once caught him washing his face with your hairband on and he got all embarrassed and giggled about it awwweee. but when you both have the day off or it’s a weekend, you stay in bed until mid morning and then get up and go to a cafe for breakfast/brunch. on a different note, he has yet to go a day without laughing about your bed head or complaining that you snore too loudly in bed even though you definitely do not do that.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

LAUGHING! night time is the only time you get to spend together since you have no plans other than to spend time together. he also likes it when he can spend the evening talking to your family or when you talk to his before going to bed because 🥺omfg that’s the cutest shit in his eyes. he likes to learn more about you, or when you get to learn more about him and he could listen and laugh to their stories all night long.

he likes to play board games/card games with you and then think of a punishment for the loser (but you end up both doing it anyway). you tire yourselves out too much with getting extremely competitive so when you head to bed, you basically fall asleep straight away. one time, you were too tired to even brush your teeth and wash your face before getting into bed so he came and did them for you ahh he’s such a cutie.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

at first, he’s quite closed off with you, he’s definitely got a guard up no matter how much he tries not to. conversations aren’t that deep initially, he tried to gauge how well you two connect just from small talk (even though he hates small talk because he has no idea what to say to you without getting too deep) and he’d know pretty quickly if the vibe’s there or not.

it takes him three dates at least before he starts opening up about himself. the conversations aren’t as deep as they could be, but he’s still talking to you on a level that you weren’t doing at first. he starts to tell you about his life, his past and his family at this point, things that have made him into the person he is and what he’s looking for in a relationship.

only once you get into the relationship officially will he tell you everything. his worries and concerns, his insecurities and his struggles. it’s difficult for him to open up about this stuff to anyone, so when he does so, he just wants you to listen. he would welcome any advice, but will only start taking it seriously after like a year of being in a relationship (not because he didn’t trust it before, just that he thought only he knew what was best for him), by that point, he truly believes that you know him better than he knows himself.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

he doesn’t really get angry. his anger is suppressed most of the time, he knows when the right time to express it is, when it would be valid to do so. if a petty situation angers him, he can just hold it and stay silent because he knows it would be worse if he kicked off. he likes to stand up for what he thinks is right though, if someone said something political that he didn’t agree with, he would get angry and start a rather heated debate with them until they were too intimidated to continue.

when it comes to you, he’s not the angry type. fake anger when you do something small, sure, just for the bants. for example when you play a game and things are getting a little too competitive he’ll go to flip the board or something. but never real anger unless you did something very wrong. even then, he’s less likely to be angry, more so upset and disappointed.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

he keeps important dates and such logged on his calendar with a week’s notice so he rarely forgets them. he really doesn’t want to forget them so he checks his calendar like every day just to see if his phone was not sending him notifications lmao.

most of the stuff you tell him, little details, he remembers since he already feels like he doesn't know you as well as he should. he wants to know anything and everything about you so he makes a point of remembering them. if he ever forgot something about you, he’d laugh it off in front of you and then go and break down over it because he can’t believe he forgot something about you.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

the first time he heard you sing 🥰🥰

you were just doing some tidying up in your room, forgetting that your boyfriend was there too, when you suddenly started singing along to your playlist. he didn’t say anything, he just smiled to himself. that was when he realised that you must be comfortable around him. when you saw him besides you, you jumped out of embarrassment but he just giggled and was like “don’t stop, you are really good” no matter how good you really were. you actually both eventually ended up belting out a full on duet while tidying together, not caring who heard. it was actually very wholesome. he brings it up whenever you sing around him now and is all nostalgic about it.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

he trusts you entirely. he never really sees a need to protect you in everyday life. if other guys flirt with you, he just expects you to deal with it since he knows that you’re capable. he doesn’t want to misread any conversations you have with other people either, so he thinks it’s best to not intervene.

he gets protective of you around guys who don’t know their place though. walking past gangs of guys, just people who make you uncomfortable in general in fact, he would wrap his arm around your waist. it’s like protectiveness, almost anger (cos he’s disgusted by the way these people make you feel), but mostly for your comfort.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

he’s either really sweet with his gift giving or so bizarre you can’t even comprehend how he managed to come up with the idea. he’d buy you something small, cute and sentimental for important events like a little figure/ornament or a necklace. when it's a less important time, his gifts are like,,, useful but strange asf (jays bday present is a perfect example of this lmao). he’d get you an alarm clock with your celebrity crush’s face on it and hand it to you like “so you start to hate them since they’re the one waking you up”.

oh BOY your anniversary is always romantic. he treats you to dinner at a restaurant in the evening, you get dressed up all fancy, that’s when he gives you the necklace that he bought for you and puts it on for you. people think it’s strange because you’re so young, but it feels so right and he can’t wait to do it for the rest of your lives.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

as friendly and lovely as jungwon is, he can sometimes come off as a little cold and withdrawn to people who don’t know him yet. he tries his hardest to make connections with everyone and seem genuine while doing it, but he can’t help but put up a guard around people he’s not yet comfortable with. he doesn’t want to welcome people into his life that he doesn’t want there. it’s not exactly a bad habit, but to those who don’t understand his reasoning it may come off that way.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

it's not the first thing that comes to his mind when he thinks about his own beauty. he’s a big believer that beauty comes from within and would rather work on his personality and emotions than think about his appearance. sometimes, when he notices people are mentioning something about his appearance regularly, he becomes a little concerned about it, even if what they’re saying is good, and he’ll try to change it but in the end he decides against it because it really doesn’t matter what other people think. he does like to make himself look good, but it’s not something that he’s particularly concerned about.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

you bring out a side of him that he would never have been able to show anyone else. he’s so thankful that you understand him and aren’t always expecting something from him. if he had never met you, he could never truly be himself around anyone, and so for that reason, yes, he would feel incomplete.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

this boy loves when you let him put jewellery on you :(. like every time he sees you struggling with your necklace or a choker he’ll be like “you want help with that” and he’ll do it for you. it’s an underrated form of affection for him, his hands so close to your neck in the most adorable way. and the fact that he gets to help you with something that you’re struggling with is a (subconscious) boost for him and fills him with so much joy, hence why is wants to do it again.

not just necklaces, bracelets in the same way, but also rings too. he’ll slide them off your finger just so he can put them back on again. he’ll do that thing where he presses his thumb against them too to “secure it in place” uh cute.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

immaturity. sure, immaturity to some extent is good for your mental state, but he’s not gonna have time for people who are excessively immature and do not see an issue in it. immaturity as in those always start unnecessary drama and are self centred, defensive and never own up to their own mistakes. a big one for him is wanting to have deep conversations. immature people wouldn’t be able to talk with him about the things he wants to, hence why he’d avoid them. he finds it hard to relate to people his age due to his maturity and mind set. he tends to struggle with small talk with them despite the amount of effort he’s putting in to adapt to their personality. this is why i think he’d know pretty early on if things were gonna work out or not.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

the twitching 😭😭. okay so we all saw him “popping” in his sleep lmao, i doubt anything would change even if someone was sleeping next to him. he might accidentally knock into you on the odd occasion but he’d wake up straight after he did it and apologise and be all like “omg i’m so sorry it wasn’t me i didn’t mean it please don’t hate me”. doesn’t happen every night, but is still noteable lol.

but other than that, he’s pretty calm. he likes it when you hold him while he sleeps :((.

Yep yep yep, I'm liking this season a lot! 😍 Although I hope we'll get into a more frantic situation now, like with more battles and more bonding moments (Nya and Maya hopefully, but with Bentho too 🦈🦈🦈)! We got half a season to go, I'M READY!! 😎😎

GENERAL THOUGHTS

I do like the season a lot, maybe MoM was a little more cohesive? Idk but it's not a big complain, I still love it so far 😍

Also maybe I would've liked more interactions between Nya and Maya about how they've been apart for so long, they had a chit chat but I would've loved even more. Maybe with Nya saying that it was fine and she grew up only to realize she is still hurt by that, even though it wasn't Maya's fault. I still like how they did it, I wished there was more that's it 🤷‍♀️

While I do make sense to Maya's behavior, that while it seems a little different from Hands of Time it had its logic in my opinion, maybe Ray feels a little weird? He seems less courageous than before, and it was established that he is a hothead like his son so that came off as unusual 🤔🤔

But I do love the fact that he's here and he's bonding with his son, for real, I've been waiting for this for so long so I'm happy nonetheless 🤩

Maybe I'm just easy to please and I take all I can get idk 😅

My thoughts on all the Mystic messenger characters and their routes :

Ok, last week I finished playing the mystic messenger game. I completed all the routes, DLCs etc. And, OMG, WHAT A RIDE WAS THAT ! . It doesn't have any appealing plot like other otome games, but this game sure did capture my heart,which most of the otome games fail to do so. The fact I could relate to some of the characters, I felt bad for them, concerned, weirded out at times , and so happy when they changed into a happy person because of me. The game deserves all the praise it gets, 10/10 👍

In this post, I will give my rating based on my playthrough for each character, and I will also say who is my true route as well, i.e, the route I fell in love the most, And please remember, these are based on MY opinions alone, please don't come at me, if it doesn't match yours 👀, Feel free to share your opinions about the characters as well & this post is way long beware ~☆

My playthrough order : I followed the recommended playthrough to get a clear picture of the storyline.

And for your kind information, I never played this game to get a bad ending, i didn't want to hurt those precious fictional characters just for getting one CG 🤐, but I do know what happens

His route : 9/10 ( not the best route, but I liked it anyways, as he is my 1st route)

His character: 8/10 ( I don't like narcissism or narcissistic people, I know it was his coping mechanism, but I kind of dislike those type of men, his attitude in Jumin's route, kinda pissed me off apart from that , he is great ! )

Is he my true route ? : NO, I don't like guys who are narcissistic, I understand that that its was his coping mechanism, to make him believe in himself, but still being narcissistic all the time is not ok, I have a bad memory because of those type of guys, moreover, I am not that confident irl 😂 , I mean the MC in Zen's route,will have to say lots of weird ass choices, and the fact that will impress him⁉️, i wouldn't even say those choices irl to anyone . I wouldn't mind being friends with him though. He is definitely the ideal BF material, but he is just isn't for me..Sorry, Zen.😅

His route : 9/10 ( apart from the "You are just like Rika", I personally enjoyed his route, the character development was the best at the end 👌)

His character : 9/10 (OMG! He is just so cute, I am not the one to get attracted to the 'younger guy' type, but this guy just changed everything for me, but he needs lots of attention , beware, yandere yoosungs will pop out if u don't care about him enough, and the fact this guy was the only one who was supportive for Jumin's relationship with MC in Jumin's route , showed how much of a cutie he is!, unlike others 😒, he was a bit annoying in V's route, but it is understandable, he deserves to knw the truth about the person who he admires )

Is he my true route ? : Kind of a YES & a NO. Eventhough I enjoyed his route more than Zen, like I said earlier I am not into those 'younger guy' type, he is a guy who loves to be babied and protected by a mature MC , and well...I am not that mature either 😛,in reality, I am a independent person, but when it comes to relationships, i liked to be babied 😏. I personally think he deserves someone better than me, I don't want to ruin his happiness 🥺

Jaehee 🤎 :

A friend in need is a friend indeed, my bae,Jaehee! 😄

Her route : 7/10 ( ok, I am gonna be honest here, I did not enjoy her route, I was happy that she realized her dreams and goes for it, but do we have to ruin a character just for making this route dramatic? Yes, I am talking about Jumin, Do u guys even know, how much I struggled to even start Jumin's route, I was literally scared of him because of his potrayal in this route as that jerk which he was btw,this route actually made me avoid Jumin for sometime.I expected the relationship between Jumin and Jaehee to become a healthy one, but oh well, whatever, & the after ending was just frustrating,all the RFA members just isolated Jumin, seriously, eventhough he did wrong things ,I felt so bad for him, imagine his thoughts at that moment , ugh...Jaehee deserves a better route, I am just not a fan of 'downgrading one character to give more importance to the main one', it's just bad writing)

Her character : 8/10 ( she is an amazing friend, a bit mature one at that. But personally i felt , if she really wanted to pursue her dreams ,she could have resigned, if she is not liking it . She was behaving a bit ignorant at times, especially in Zen's route. She could have communicated with Jumin beforehand about her difficulty in handling the job? I knw it's very difficult to suddenly quit the job, but she has every right to resign,she does have the money to open a coffee shop, thn why?. Don't come at me, and tell me that I hate her just because she is a female character,HELL NO, I like her but still her route made me have mixed feelings. She was being rude at times , I really understood why CHERTIZ did this, to show women can liberate themselves to work for their dreams, but in a professional point of view, I still think the route could have been handled better. Small businesses success isn't as easy to get, and in my point of view it would have been nice to show how MC and Jaehee make it through in her route rather than making Jumin a jerk, because it ruined Jumin at first for not only me but also a number of players ,but oh well,🏃‍♀️, I do like her, she could be a great friend, nothing more that that )

Is she my true route? : NO, I am straight. I see Jaehee as a friend. Some ask a romantic route for her, but I don't mind about that , I was just glad that I could help her to realize her dreams as a FRIEND.

Jumin 💜 :

I don't see a selfish jerk here, I see a soft boi , in a gigantic body, who is just lonely

His route : 10/10 ( Seriously, I did not expect to like his route one bit, I thought I would hate him more, but turns out, I freaking fell in love with the flawed "him" , HECK YEAH! this was the only route where i was being TRUE TO MYSELF, did not refer any guides, understood his loneliness, I could relate to him so bad, I was happy to help him during his vulnerable times 🤧.Zen was annoying ,but I didn't care much about it, because I knw why he was like this. I prefer the good ending, and yes he does propose for marriage to whom he have talked for only 11 days, but I was very sure he will listen to you, if u don't want the marriage immediately )

His character : 9/10 ( He is so cute in his own way,mature, intelligent,awkward and even gets insecure,because he thinks he does not deserve you?! , you deserve better than me ,Jumin 😫, he does get possessive and irrational and that could make others uncomfortable, but for me, I understood that as well, being an empath myself ,as this dude never had a relationship with anyone,he is new into this, I don't mind teaching him new things about the world, about love. His characterization in Jaehee's route was god awful and cheritz did a bad job in it , I think they decided to make him like this, just for DRAMA,Jumin might have a bad way of showing emotions but he is not a soul less demon. I have seen people calling Jumin an abuser, but I didn't see that at all, he was being an idiot and he acknowledges it, every damn time, an abuser doesn't do this at all, and no..I don't think Jumin is dominant daddy material one bit like how the fandom perceives him. This is his first relationship with a woman, I feel he would be sweet, embarrassed loving and a loyal husband material, and I love his "opposed to living together before marriage" thing as well, as my religion follows that too as well )

I have never seen someone so perfect and also with flaws just like me , this guy made me realize that all along, I just never showed empathy towards others and that's why no one wanted to talk to me irl, I didn't care what people told about me. He seriously made me understand my own flaws and I corrected it, he made me into a better person, big thx , Mr.Jumin . Morever , I was being myself in his route only, I loved all of his calls , he brings up the strangest things just to talk to you, that's just so cute WTH , this man will be so loyal I am sure of it !.I don't really care about his riches, I am just in love with his true self 😫🥺

The main man of this game, hmmm....

His route : 7/10 ( ok, I was so hyped to play his route , cuz even before I started to play this game, 707 was so popular, I expected a lot, but it was a meh for me...he did have a VERY HEARTBREAKING PAST , he was suffering from a lot of things, I understand. But the whole route wasn't that gud though...and his secret endings are just painfully depressing and angsty, V's death just broke my heart, I felt so frickin bad for Jumin, how would he even handle those things?.It just destroyed me completely. Moreover I don't find 707's jokes funny at times, his route had good plot, but 707 failed to impress me in his own route)

His character : 7/ 10 ( oh boi,I am scared that I would be slaughtered with hatred for telling this, the fact that he was faking his own personality was very shocking to me, I did not expect that. I despise tsunderes ,and 707 is the literal definition of it, so yeah, It ended up being annoying for me. Even though I was hella depressed like 707 before, I couldn't find him #relatable at all. I don't knw why , but I couldn't see him more than a friend 🚶‍♀️)

Is he my true route? : NOPE. I was not impressed by him at all, don't knw why lol, I tried to like him as he is THE REAL TRUE ROUTE,but it is still not getting into my heart, maybe because I already started to love Jumin, idk. I felt bad for 707, I wouldn't mind helping him as a friend, but as a significant other...NAH....,I am not into these type of guys 🥴,sorry seven...

V 💙 :

I can understand why Jumin and V were best friends...they be looking like DADDY 👀

His route : 8 /10 ( for me, I was happy that V finally understood that he was basically a obsessive simp for Rika, I hated that he blamed himself more, which somehow I agree, I feel like he could have said something to the RFA , yoosung was hella annoying in this route, he spoke as if Rika is an angel or something, which she is not btw, yoosung, she brainwashed saeran and freakin created a cult, and this is not something an angel would do 🥴, V is not just flawed or anything,he doesn't even love himself,and so clings to rika because she was so wonderful in her eyes as an idea .He kept the freakin truth hidden,just because Rika doesn't want to, of course, my baby,yoosung will ask about . V is too emotional,and he was a victim of rika's abuse and manipulation just like Saeran,I liked the plot and though I didn't fall in love with him , I did have a tinsy bit of crush on him, mainly because of his looks, more like a puppy love, the voice acting was on point 👌)

His character : 7/ 10 ( boi could have handled the situation with his crazy GF much better, he actually let Saeran get brainwashed by Rika, he could have done something, and the fact that he liked Rika only as an idea, showed that this guy was in a very toxic relationship, Rika and V are the perfect example of what happens when two people who doesn't love themselves date, and he was clearly the victim of Rika's abuse and manipulation. I also don't think he is an angel either, he has done some wrong things definitely, and the fandom should acknowledge his wrong doings)

Is he my true route? : NO. Though Jumin and V are very similar , I did not like the fact that he simped for his crazy GF out of his obsession alone and though, she was clearly showing red flags earlier, he thinks that the power of love can change her lol . He was so confusing for me to understand. 😂

Ray 💖 :

His route : 10/10 ( The drama , the music, the plot & the voice acting was just fantastic, I was blown away by this route, but that doesn't mean I liked Saeran as a character, the boi needs therapy, not romance lol, sry,and the recovery from his brainwashed state was unrealistic )

His character : 7/10 ( seriously, the voice acting for both the personalities was just mind blowing, he is such a well written character, but his abandonment issues isn't something u should romanticize about, he loved the affection that the MC was giving , but one wrong move, he will change just like that , he confused affection with love. Some are telling that Jumin was abusive, which he is not btw , for me, suit Saeran was super abusive, WTH)

Is he my true route ? : HELL NO. Eventhough he was practically innocent because he was under the influence of that elixir or some kind of a drug and brainwashed by Rika , I would never in my life try to have a romantic relationship with those kind of people. I may like him after he receives proper therapy ,but NO, just No, I can help him as a person, but I wouldn't go for a kiss or something with him. 🙄

Rika 💔:

This scene still gives me goosebumps 🙄

Her character : -infinity / 20 ( she deserves this uwu)

Ok, hear me out, I hate Rika so much , i know she has been through a lot, i really do.. but it doesn't mean you can emotionally abuse and brainwash Saeran, he would have been a better person,she turned a person who loves ice cream and cloud watching into a self destructive psycho, another story showed how much she is capable of by her words , She manipulated V to not tell RFA that she is gonna start a cult, WHAT THE HELL, V, do you not knw what she is trying to do here 😳 ? But whatever,V was being manipulated by her "playing as a victim" tactics, she also played with Jumin's feelings for her, I was about to throw my hands on her, how dare u do that to my man ??, made yoosung to obsess over her to make him think that she is absolutely a gud person, and left him to ponder over her so called 'passing' , making him unable to move on from her.

And oh god,the backstory did not make me feel bad for her one bit, it only made me understand why she has become like this. Like dude, I understood she had a shitty past, but so did the other members of RFA, but did they all become like a manipulative victim player? Hell no.. they learned from their mistakes and they change, but even when all the members were trying to help her, she denies that she doesn't need a therapy. She deserves a proper mental therapy and a proper jail time. NO EXCUSE FOR THAT, she did the same manipulation and brainwashing for all of her disciples to get them into Mint eye.

But as a character , Rika just rocked it for me , she was so successful in making me and a lot of the fans hate her as an antagonist. Her voice actor was so gud,she had such a good way of speaking manipulative, like God, I understood why all the RFA members were all kind of whipped for her, she is such a master piece as an antagonist. 🚶‍♀️🤫

Vanderwood 💞👀 :

His character: 10/10 idk, why am I giving a rating for him though? I just love him 😂

Ok, I know he is a side character, but for some reason, I liked him more than 707 lol 👀, I just spoke with him only in one chatroom , but boi , was I whipped for him 😜

Rika -Though she doesn't have a route or a gud character she deserves a -infinity/20 ( and no place in my heart 🚶‍♀️)

Overall, this game is the best otome game ! , I actually paid for getting the hourglasses, I mean, I suck at patience, I was so intrigued by the story, but it was seriously worth it !. There are a number of otome games which charge more than this.

Walker 1x 05 Reaction

This is a memorable episode, and it’s taken me awhile to get around to writing my thoughts about it (after watching it three times). For me, this is the best episode of the season so far. I loved the undercover aspect of this one. I’m hoping there’s more of this in the future. I am dying to know what happened during those times Walker “went dark”. I hope we get flashbacks of this to explain some things and give us more insight into him.

What else did he do besides ride bulls in a rodeo? (I so wanted to see that). I enjoyed seeing Jared become another character. Duke isn’t Walker, and Walker isn’t Sam. This is the silver lining to the end of SPN for me. It’s interesting to see what Jared can do as an actor with other characters (but I will love Sam Winchester until my dying day). I’m also looking forward to seeing what Jensen does with Soldier Boy.

I know everybody has seen the comments and the pictures. Duke is sexy as all hell. So, why no sex? That’s the big question. Twyla Jean is an absolute mystery. What was the exact nature of their relationship? They did have sex. That’s pretty clear.

The way she dragged him into that motel and had half his clothes off in under three seconds is the behavior of a woman looking for some reunion sex. And was that scene ever hot! I have a new bandana around the wrist kink.

After a few glorious seconds, in which we get to objectify Jared, he stops her saying, “We can’t do this.” His reason? They shouldn’t be seen together. So, what does he do? He takes her to a bar-in public. WTH? 

While I was trying to figure this out, I thought “Maybe the bar isn’t in Austin.” But then when I watched it a third time, it seemed more like “No, this bar’s in Austin.” So, I’m totally confused about that one.

Walker has some complicated emotions about Twyla Jean. Oh, how I want to know more about the time he spent undercover! Did he actually have any real feelings for her, or was it all pretend the way he told August?

He’s not interested in having sex with Twyla in that motel, I mean the Texas Rangers and the FBI are watching, or is he? When he had sex with her undercover, was it just part of his job? Did he have to be that convincing as a rodeo cowboy, somebody he wasn’t, that it required having sex with this woman? 

Maybe he enjoyed it and started having feelings for her which made him feel guilty because Emily was dead, and it was somehow dishonoring her memory? The scene where Duke is talking to Twyla on the bleachers gives me the feeling it’s genuine, or at least he wants to feel something for her because he opens up to her about “losing someone.” It could be he misses the emotional intimacy.

Does she actually care about him? The way she argues with him over the money like she doesn’t trust him makes me take pause. Then later when she’s dancing with him with a gun pressed into his side makes me think “How much can she really care about him?” It could be she wanted to care about him but knew it was pointless because “There’s something behind those eyes that’s never quite going to let me in.” 

That thing could be his whole identity is fake., so anything they have is built on a lie. It could be he’s still in love with his dead wife, so he can’t truly feel anything for her. It might be a combination of both. 

The complexity of this whole storyline fascinates me. Liam says, “Cordell hated who he had to become as Duke.” And it looked to me like Walker was on the verge of a panic attack every time he ducked his head in a sink full of water. That broke my heart.

Add into this extreme level of stress Cordell is experiencing that August just can’t stay out of it. Goaded by Ruby, he follows his father and gets right in the middle of his undercover job. There’s something about this Ruby girl that has annoyed me from the start, and this didn’t help her case.

Cordell ends up yelling at August to get him out of this dangerous situation he’s put himself in. This is after his son calls him a “fake cowboy badass”. I know the kid is traumatized, but there are limits. Cordell deserves a Gather of the Year medal when he’s the one who apologizes to August later for that scene. 

Walker even refers to August when he has the idea to “kill” Duke by saying “let’s give my boy what he wants.” This happens in a staged shootout where Duke pulls a gun on the FBI. An agent “shoots” him, and he falls into a swimming pool.

The English major in me has to talk about all the submersion symbolism in this episode. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think water and symbolism is emotion. Cordell is clearly overwhelmed by confused and churning emotions.

The next meaning is the baptismal one or the cleansing and washing away of sins. Cordell definitely feels the burden of them, but we still don’t know what they are. Again, what did he do undercover? Does he feel he has failed as a father? Does he think he failed as a husband because he should have “protected” Emily? I feel like we’ve only gotten a small glimpse inside of him, same with Twyla. We very well may not have seen the last of her. If not her, other people Walker knew while he was undercover will be brought into the story. 

At the end when he falls into the pool “dead” then rises back up, it is his symbolic resurrection. The question is “What is this new life he’s being born into?” I think this is tied to the conversation Stella has with her new soccer coach, Trey. She tells him she played soccer while her dad was gone because she thought it would bring him back. Her father went to all her mother’s college games, so she thought by playing soccer it would bring him to her too.

In a notable conversation, Trey tells Stella she has to decide who she’s playing for. Is she playing for herself or her dad? I think there’s a definite correlation to Cordell here. Why is he doing what he’s doing? Is he trying to prove something to someone? Is he trying to atone for Emily’s death because he somehow feels responsible? 

The most extreme thing he’s done is go undercover. Why? Why so soon after his wife’s death? Cordell has secrets, secrets we don’t know yet.

The camera shifts around as the hand moves to adjust it on its tripod, fixing the device in place. When the image finally clears, stills and focuses, the hand moves back to reveal a man with blonde hair done in a mullet.

“Is it done yet?” A voice pipes up in the background.

The man adjusting the camera steps back to reveal a well lit room with wooden floorboards, the words KQ Entertainment behind him in big, white letters. Seven men hover at the back, all trying to push their way into the centre to see the camera.

“It’s on!” The man with the mullet cheers a little at his success. All eight of them rush to form a line, before he announces the beginning of the VLIVE. “하나, 둘, 셋 (hana, dool, seht)!”

“Eight Makes One Team!” They chorus together and bow, wide grins on their faces. “안녕하세요 (annyeonghaseyo)! It’s ATEEZ!”

They burst into a round of scattered applause.

“Hello everyone! It’s Hongjoong here!” The man with the mullet waves at the camera, smiling broadly. “So, due to popular opinion on Tumblr-”

“We’ve decided to check out @chasingatinydream’s fanfiction of us, Pirate King!” The young man with purple hair bursts into the frame, grinning wildly. “We’ve made a reaction video to some of the earlier chapters, which will be uploaded soon! We hope you watch it!”

“And finally, our villain! We present to you, Yunho, AKA Leon Bastiville!”

Jongho simply grabs him by the ankle and hauls him back to the front, Yunho’s fingers scrabbling along the floor, before he finally locks his arms around Wooyoung’s leg.

It isn’t working. “Yunho picked the lot for the villain.”

“Alright, I’ll begin reading!” Mingi announces, lifting the script to his face. He starts to read, in the most dramatic tone he can. “Chapter Twenty Two, Gunshot, Original Version. Warnings, whipping, some gore- What? I feel like I shouldn’t be reading this on a VLIVE-”

“It’s a zero budget production, we’ll be fine!” San shouts as he gestures from the sidelines for Mingi to continue. The rapper pauses a little hesitantly, before starting to read once more.

“You freeze. Every muscle in your body goes taut, a cold shiver runs down your spine. The arm around your waist is firm, strong and from the almost unbreakable grip he has on you, he doesn’t intend on letting you go any soon.”

“Wooyoung-ah, Yunho-ah.” San studies the script in his hand intently, before pointing at the taller man, who is still prone on the ground with an arm wrapped around Wooyoung’s leg. “You need to get into position, you know.”

There’s a pause, and the two turn to stare at each other in horror. “What?”

“You heard me.” San waves the script impatiently, pulling a Nerf gun from a small box of props the staff must have given him for this video and tossing it at Yunho, who barely manages to catch the bright yellow toy. “Yunho, stand behind Wooyoung and pretend to choke him.”

Neither of them move, still staring at each other.

“The fans demand it.” Seonghwa’s amused voice can be heard as the camera pans in on Hongjoong’s grin at the sidelines, next to San and Jongho. The maknae is snickering uncontrollably, hand over his mouth.

“You need to do it!” Hongjoong calls. He’s donned the black eye patch already and has the red blanket pulled around his shoulders, the thick fabric so long that it almost completely engulfs him with his head popping out of the very top.

Grudgingly and with no grace at all, Yunho moves behind Wooyoung, grabbing him by the neck and holding the toy gun to his head. The purple haired man makes several gagging sounds and Yunho’s face is one of utter disgust.

“Very good!” San praises as he glances down at the script again. “Now, Yunho, put your mouth at Wooyoungie’s ear.”

“What?” The two of them shout again, Wooyoung struggling to get out of Yunho’s arms while he still can. Yunho’s face is one of nausea as he scrunches up his nose.

“Do it, do it, do it!” Jongho and Yeosang are chanting in the corner, the maknae not even bothering to hide his laughter now. Yunho slowly puts his face near Wooyoung’s ear and Wooyoung gags.

“I can feel your breath at my ear! It’s weird!”

“It’s weird for me too, damnit!”

“Stop cursing! Now, Yunho, whisper in Wooyoung’s ear ‘I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.’ ”

“I hate this Leon guy, whoever he is!” Yunho yelps as the camera shakes from Seonghwa’s laughter. “Why is he so weird, going around whispering in people’s ears?”

“I don’t know! Someone save me! This main character’s life sucks!” Wooyoung flails around in Yunho’s grip. The tall dancer makes several loud retching noises, but has probably guessed that he won’t be getting out of this anytime soon. He simply closes his eyes for a moment, channeling his inner actor from that video shoot with Dingo, and leans next to Wooyoung’s ear, whispering softly.

“I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”

Wooyoung screeches like a dying cat. “No!”

“Very good!” San praises, clapping as he turns to Mingi. The rapper continues reading.

“Your heart sinks in your chest as the rest of your crew come into sight. Most of them are tied up in groups with rope, their heads hanging low as Navy soldiers kick and push them out of the cargo hold, where they had been hidden from sight. So that was why the ship had been so strangely silent when you and Wooyoung had returned to the Treasure. They had been captured- Holy shit, that was what happened to us in chapter twenty one?”

“I don’t know, I was saving myself, I mean the main character, from getting shot from a musket bullet!” Wooyoung wails, thrashing around. “Get me out of here! I regret ever drawing this lot! Who wants to be the main character when she has such a terrible life?”

“The fans love it!” Seonghwa remarks excitedly, the recording steadying for a moment as he shifts the camera to San, who bows dramatically. Wooyoung shrieks at everyone watching his torment live.

“Yunho, tell Wooyoung ‘Hello, hello, hello, my two dear pirates. Now, we’re finally all here together. I’ve been waiting for this the whole night.’ ”

“That stalker was waiting in wait for us? That’s so creepy.” Jongho comments with a shudder. Yeosang shrugs. He can’t fathom the mind of a lunatic either.

“There’s poison in his voice, sweet as honey and as dangerous as snake venom. You don’t dare to struggle against him for fear of being shot point blank in the head, but his hold on you is making you panic and he’s crushing your windpipe, making every breath an arduous effort.” Mingi reads aloud, and Yunho, getting a little too into character, squeezes Wooyoung’s neck tighter. The shorter dancer yelps, flailing around.

“You’re choking me!”

“Very good, Yunho!” San applauds, completely ignoring Wooyoung’s plight. Yunho grins, nodding at the camera.

“Hey, I’m pretty good at acting!”

“Wooyoung’s fine!” Seonghwa beams, zooming in on Wooyoung’s struggling to free himself.

“You’re killing me!”

“Wow, Wooyoung’s really getting into character. Good job, Wooyoung!” Hongjoong raises a thumbs up with a proud smile on his face.

“I’m not in character-”

“ ‘While the two of you were off causing your little commotion back there at the official’s building,’ the officer drawls, playfully resting his chin on your shoulder as he addresses the crew, ‘one of my men ran back to the harbor to report it to me. My colleague that saw to you yesterday, Yoongi, was already suspicious of you. He smelled gunpowder on your ship, but your little de facto captain told us that you hadn’t been fired on.’ ”

“Are you serious? He smelled us out?” Jongho looks unimpressed by this, scowling. “Who the heck goes around just smelling ships?”

“Bring him out.” Yunho snarls, pressing the toy gun tighter against Wooyoung’s head. His finger must have slipped on the trigger, because there’s a pop sound and Wooyoung yelps, a foam dart falling to the ground.

“That hurt!”

“No, Yunho, he’s not supposed to die yet.” San corrects, shaking his head and completely ignoring Wooyoung. Yunho pouts, breaking character for a moment.

“Sorry.”

“Anyway, Hongjoongie-hyung, it’s your moment to shine!” San announces, turning to his leader. Hongjoong tries to make his way over, but then he steps on the hem of his red blanket and trips, sprawling on the ground in front of the camera. “Oh, that was very good acting, hyung!”

“That wasn’t acting-”

Mingi glances across the script. “Leon clicks his tongue and you see your captain shoved forward, head bowed and hands bound in front of him. Part of you desperately wants to run to the man who named you, to insist he never incline his head to someone he doesn’t respect, but you are completely powerless now. He looks so small- Doesn’t hyung always look small? What’s the difference?”

“Yah, Mingi!” Hongjoong shouts as he attempts to get up, but trips and falls again. Jongho is snorting uncontrollably, hand reaching for a cup of popcorn that definitely wasn’t there earlier and Yeosang’s face is buried in a pillow as his body shakes with laughter.

“Bring me the cat.” Yunho snaps, getting into the mood once more, and San glances around for his extra.

Jongho couldn’t look happier, jumping to his feet at the words, his eyes shining.

“Really?”

Hongjoong’s eyes widen almost comically in horror and he desperately scrambles back. “He’s going to break my back!”

“We don’t have a whip, but we do have a squeaky hammer!” San grins, pulling out the plastic mallet from the box. He tosses it to Jongho, who catches it and eyes it with a vindictive smile Hongjoong’s honestly quite terrified of.

“Don’t worry, hyung. I promise I’ll be gentle.” Jongho looks more terrifying than that Leon guy could ever be. Striding over, he rips the red blanket from Hongjoong, leaving the poor leader on the ground. He raises the squeaky mallet.

The sight is menacing.

“I’m not doing this!” Hongjoong shrieks, running for his life around the dance studio, Jongho chasing after him. Seonghwa documents the whole thing, spinning round and round in circles before he finally retreats the the floor.

“Sorry everyone, I got too dizzy.” He apologises with a laugh.

“Let me go!” The leader screams as Jongho catches him by the legs, sending both of them sprawling to the ground.

“Tell me who broke my guitar string!”

“Never!”

The maknae raises the hammer and mercilessly thwacks his hyung with it, the rubber hammer going squeak squeak squeak.

“Fine, fine, fine! I broke it while trying to play Havana, okay? God, please just stop hitting me! I surrender!”

There’s a final, hard smack and the hammer goes flying out of Jongho’s hands, hitting Wooyoung straight in the face.

Your captain is on his knees, face pressed against the floor, body trembling.” Mingi baulks a little at the intense description. “You can’t even begin to imagine what absolute agony he must be in, your musket wound was nothing compared to this. But your captain remains silent, teeth gritted against the torment brought on with each swing of the whip. Honestly, you’re so cool in this story, hyung. The last time you got a paper cut you nearly cried and went to Seonghwa-hyung to get a plaster-”

“I didn’t!” Hongjoong groans from the floor, attempting to massage his back. Jongho climbs off him with a triumph grin, settling next to Yeosang.

“Now act like you’re strong and laugh at Yunho, Hongjoong-hyung.” San directs his leader, but the lead rapper simply remains prone on the ground.

“I’m dead, I’m dead…” He moans, lying on the floor like a dead fish. “Just let me die…”

San squirts a bottle of red liquid on his back and Hongjoong screams, leaping off the floor in fright. The back of his shirt looks like a bloody mess. “San, what was that?”

“Ketchup.” The brand is blurred out, but it’s ketchup, alright. “It’s supposed to be your blood.”

“I showered before this…” Hongjoong whines, staring mournfully at his shirt. San ignores him and moves to check his script once more.

“I wonder if your tongue will loosen if I do it to one of your crew, then?”

“I don’t want to die!”

“Now rip Wooyoung’s shirt, Yunho.” San instructs, studying the script. Wooyoung shrieks, doubling his efforts to become Houdini.

“This shirt cost me eighty two thousand won! Don’t do this to meeeee-”

With that, Wooyoung finally breaks free of Yunho’s grip, but the momentum brought on by his little escape sends him stumbling and he trips over Hongjoong’s blanket, before sprawling on top of his leader.

“Ow!”

“Wooyoung, you little-”

“Oh my god Hongjoong’s finally found out Chin Hae is a woman!” Mingi gasps in shock, a hand coming over his mouth. Yeosang gapes in shock.

“Oh no! What’s going to happen? Wooyoung’s going to hate her and they’re never going to be together-”

“Eh, I more of shipped her with captain anyway.” Jongho drawls.

“And he looks so betrayed! Hongjoong, don’t be sad! I promise Chin Hae didn’t want to lie to you-”

“I knew it from the beginning…” Hongjoong groans from under Wooyoung. Mingi ignores him.

“Not you, the cooler Hongjoong in the book.”

“She’s coming back with us. I hope you’re pure for sale, my sweet, but I suppose that may be difficult when you’re on the same ship as so many men- I sound like a pervert, I’m not saying this.” Yunho shakes his head, tossing the script away. It smacks into the camera.

“Ah!” Seonghwa rushes to save it. “Yunho!”

“Hongjoong-hyung, you’re supposed to shout Wooyoung’s name and we get a smoke bomb-”

“But I’m the main character!” Wooyoung protests as he heaves himself off his leader. The front of his shirt is sticky with ketchup, as if he’s the victim of a homicide case.

San pauses to think for a moment. “That’s true. We’ll just move on then. Jongho, smoke bomb please!”

Jongho picks up the cup of popcorn and throws it into the air. It goes absolutely everywhere.

“Great work, Jongho!”

“He flies out of nowhere, lunging for your captor. Leon snarls and tries to kick him away, but then he raises a short knife and buries it in Leon’s arm. The man holding you stumbles back onto the gangplank, falling onto the ground and your saviour takes your hand.” Mingi reads aloud, eyes wide. Then his mouth falls open. “Yeosang, you’re going to-”

“Yeosang the knight in shining armour to the rescue!” Jongho pulls three kazoos from his pockets and blows wildly. The screeching noise almost breaks a few thousand eardrums around the world.

Yeosang stands up, picking his way through the ketchupy, popcorn mess that is the room. He takes Wooyoung’s hand awkwardly.

“Like this?”

“Great! Yunho, pick up the party popper there and shoot Yeosang with it!” San cheers, almost grinning madly. Yeosang’s eyes widen in horror.

“Wait, what-”

“No, that movie is Goblin, Wooyoung-”

“What is this ketchup? It’s burning my skin!” Wooyoung shrieks and San double checks the bottle, face turning a little pale.

“Oh. It was chilli.”

There’s a moment of silence as Yeosang and Wooyoung both stare at each other. Then they’re bolting for the door in horror, dashing from the dance studio while tripping over their own feet.

San follows, calling after them.

“Need any help, guys?”

“I’m a terrible person. I’m a terrible cruel, cold hearted man who just killed Yeosang with a confetti gun.” Yunho is mumbling to himself. Mingi pats him on the back, pushing him out of the door as well.

“Maybe you should get some rest, hyung. I hear the author has some pretty nasty stuff planned for you after the Sea Witch arc…”

I saw your latest hanyo no yashahime post because I followed the tag and I have to say as a victim of grooming myself, I would rather be aggressive towards the adult Sessrin shippers,I do think some of them have pedophillic tendency’s, I know you hate that word being thrown around but how else would you describe people enjoying seeing sexualized fanart/actual porn of child Rin and sesshomaru. And a ship is just a ship yes but when large amounts of people try to normalize grooming I draw the line

First of all: I’m so sorry that you had to go through such a horrible experience and thank you for sharing this so openly. I’ll do my best to explain my point of view about the current chaos and how to navigate it as best as I can. In order for me not to repeat myself too often, I‘ll assume that people reading this will also have read my previous post that prompted Nonny to message me.

About the ship itself:

As far as the ending of the manga goes, Rin and Sesshoumaru are blank slates, leaving lots of room for interpretation. What is true for both characters is that neither of them have any romance set up, because neither Rin nor Sesshoumaru are anywhere near ready for any kind of romantic relationship (no matter with who) at that point in time. Rin because she’s a child and Sesshoumaru because he’s an emotionally stunted and immature mess of a man (which is why I find the sequel‘s premise incredibly unbelievable. There‘s no way Sesshoumaru was ready to have half-demon children and this is a flat-out character assassination for Sesshoumaru but I DIGRESS). In the manga, not a single trace of romance can be found, and thus not a single trace of grooming. Giving a growing child a new kimono is not grooming, it‘s common sense.

Now, most people that oppose SessRin do immediately jump to pedophilia and grooming for multiple reasons and, while I don’t ship SessRin, reducing the ship to assumptions like these is not an okay thing to do. I firmly stand by this statement and I’ll do my best to explain why.

Now, because this will be important to understand the thoughts I‘m conveying, please remember these key points:

1) Explaining does NOT equal excusing. I will never make excuses for people that romanticize children in romantic relationships. All I‘m doing is do my best to cut through the very emotionally charged and hardened fronts in this ship-war.

2) We NEED to separate the ship from its shippers. SessRin is an extremely difficult ship to write that needs to be treated with much more care and awareness than most other hetero-ships, but because people abuse Rin as their Mary-Sue and don‘t give the characters actual care and love, you end up with terrible fanfiction that depicts SessRin as „a given / destined / Rin‘s the closest vagina in the near vicinity“. And yet: Sesshoumaru grooming Rin is not the ONLY possible continuation of this ship. I‘ll get back to this in a bit.

3) Grooming is a choice, pedophilia is a mental disorder. While the two overlap at times, they are NOT the same. I’ll broach this issue near the end of this post.

Now, to get the worst out of the way, I’ll agree to this: The interpretation coming from the loudest and most aggressive shippers (Celestia on Twitter is an excellent example) is highly problematic and, as mentioned, shows a lack of comprehension regarding subtility and a lack of emotional intelligence. They‘re very black and white and they romanticize the characters as they were left in the manga, saying (among other things) how Rin is Sesshoumaru’s soulmate and understands him like no other, in spite of being a child, and THAT raises all kinds of alarm bells. Because this is exactly the rhetoric used by predators towards impressionable children. People claiming that this isn’t the case are being willfully ignorant and I usually don’t tolerate such people and use the block button generously.

But this is the WORST manifestation of this ship. Notice how I say the worst, not the ONLY.

Unfortunately, this worst interpretation usually comes from the laziest and most aggressive shippers that simply lack the creativity to imagine anything else. I’ve read many a SessRin fanfiction that built this relationship up in a believable way, taking its time and addressing the potential pitfalls, unfortunately this type of dedication or writing talent is not easily found in a fandom as vast and trope-y as Inuyasha. But I‘ve also read a ton of fanfiction where SessRin is a „logical conclusion“ because the author is actually writing an InuKag fic and has no idea what else to do with Sesshoumaru and Rin, hence: Another pairing to make babies with, yaaaay. SessRin happens by proxy, which is a huge NO-NO. This echoes one of my mantras: In order for Sesshoumaru to even get into a romantic relationship (NO MATTER WITH WHO), there is an entire story and development that needs to be told first. The same goes for Rin because again, by the end of the manga, she‘s not much of a character at all. “Why do you even read SessRin if you don’t ship it??” I hear you ask (not you, Nonny, I mean this and the following in a general sense). Because I keep saying that every ship has its merit and I’m interested in the stories that can be told. I keep saying that all ships are legitimate and I don’t want to miss out on any potentially amazing stories, especially because those were seriously hard to come by back in the day (anyone remember the 2000’s? Anyone?). I’ve read fanfiction from literally every Inuyasha ship under the sun. So if I see the tell-tales of a bad SessRin fic, I leave the author and their world behind and move on to something else. I’ll use this short interlude to say this: It has become such a horrible trend in fandom to put the sole responsibility of one’s fanfiction-experience on the author instead of taking responsibility for the content one might consume. There’s an incredible lack of self-sufficiency, a lack of ability to just move away when people read something they don’t want to read without taking personal offense. Now, I’m not saying that you have to be like me, but at least take responsibility for your own experience. ANYWAY, back to the topic at hand.

So again: In order for Rin or Sesshoumaru to get together romantically at any point in the future, a LOT needs to happen first. A lot of development, a lot of questioning, a LOT of build-up, because this relationship needs a heck of a lot more explanation than most other hetero-ships out there, but most fanfic writers and shippers are too lazy to set this up properly, leading to problematic romanticization, sugarcoating and hand-waving away of serious subjects that need to be addressed. Most of these types of SessRin shippers I see are found on Twitter and Tumblr (many are Spanish, too, wth is up with that), as mentioned, and they are are extremely questionable, seeing no issue at all with this ship, and here’s my opinion on why that is: Given from what I’ve seen, these types of shippers equal Rin with themselves. If you read how they justify this ship, it has nothing to do with her being a child, and everything to do with the blank slate that she is (like Bella Swan in Twilight). Rin has endless potential and it’s much easier to project ones own fantasy on a character that has yet to BECOME an actual character you can write a love story WITH. Of course, shippers don‘t realize this, because projection is usually done on an unconscious level. But to someone who’s been observing in this fandom and lurking for years, this seems incredibly obvious. Neither Rin nor Sesshoumaru have any agency, because they’re fictional, and that’s why SessRin is such a ticking bomb, always has been. They can be turned into whatever you want.

Now, that’s of course what fandom is for: Fulfillment of fantasies and works depicting any dynamic from fluffy to dark. But here’s the second main problem: Because SessRin is usually depicted as your typical, trope-riddled “male is alpha, woman is beta at best” romance, it falls right into heteronormative standards. Heterosexual relationships are TEEMING with extremely lazy writing (and normalized abuse, but that’s a subject for another time) and for some reason, I’ve observed how hetero ships have this insane entitlement to “purity”. What I mean by that is that hetero-ships are much more likely to attract fans that need their ship to be canon, otherwise they can’t function. This is EXACTLY what happens with SessRin. If you just had SessRin shippers doing their thing, I don’t think we’d be in this situation. But because of the sequel and its excellent marketing strategy, SessRin shippers are full of hope and, worst of all, grasping at straws and lording their ship’s superiority over everyone else with renewed fervor. If Takahashi/Sunrise weren’t such absolute cunts (pardon the language), we’d not be in this situation. Because SessRin is now a “possibility” in the sequel, people suddenly see the fulfillment of their own personal fantasies within reach. Let me repeat: This is about the fulfillment of their OWN PERSONAL fantasy and has nothing to do with Rin. She just happens to be the female character that’s closest to Sesshoumaru. The fact that she’s a child does not factor in this particular scenario, even though it SHOULD.

So again: The ship is fine on its own, because it’s literally a blank slate that you can go in ANY direction with. It’s the people that desperately grasp for canon and have decided that SessRin is a foregone conclusion WITHOUT any build-up or explanation that are the true problem. They look to the sequel and their own interpretations to justify their lazy and problematic interpretation of the ship. They make the ship into the potential grooming/pedophilia shitstorm that many “antis” are caught up in, but that’s not the ships fault.

Speaking of which, let’s talk about the grooming and possible pedophilia.

I’d ask people, after reading all of the above, to remember this: If there is any grooming at all, it has yet to happen, because NOTHING has happened between Sesshoumaru and Rin after the manga. Hell, they didn‘t even speak to each other in the charity chapter. They are still the same blank slates now that they were back then. Whether or not grooming happens is in the hands of any creator that decides to take their dynamic further.

As for pedophilic tendencies: I will not deny that there are traces of that in SessRin shipping (some prominent people also ship Zabuza/Haku from Naruto which is telling), but I swear to you that 99% of SessRin fanfictions I’ve read do NOT depict Sesshoumaru with a child Rin (except for 1-2 dark fics that portrayed the dangers of a relationship with such a power imbalance, which are extremely important works as well imo). Same goes for the art. This again because Rin is not treated as a proper character, but as a vessel for wish fulfillment.

I have said many negative things about the shippers that are triggering the entire fandom at the moment, but people that oppose this ship need to be honest with themselves and acknowledge that them jumping to the conclusion of “SessRin ALWAYS equals grooming and pedophilia” also lack creativity and the ability to differentiate between different paths and outcomes. Accusing others of pedophilia is inappropriate and uncalled for, not matter how upset you are. I too have had to learn and accept that pedophilia is a mental disorder and needs a proper diagnosis and treatment. What happens because of a mental disorder should never be excused, no matter if it’s depression, bi-polar disorder or pedophilia, but what we can hopefully all agree on is that mental disorders are not something you choose.

So the only thing I can say to you, Nonny, is this: If you see something that looks like pedophilia or grooming to you, absolutely do report it. As someone once told me: The block button is a form of self-care. Use it! I have done the same over the last couple of days and it’s cathartic. If something triggers you, avoid it and find someone/somewhere to vent to if necessary. Your feelings are extremely valid, your aggression towards others (if you have shown any, that is) is not. Your experiences were horrific without any shadow of the doubt, but the way this possibly influences how you react to and treat others is absolutely something that is YOUR responsibility.

What I would, again, ask all of the people aggressively opposing SessRin is that you reconsider your stance on pedophilia. Its potential consequences are inexcusable, but accusing other people of being pedophiles because you’re jumping to conclusions is in extremely bad taste and leaves you not only on the same intellectual level as the shipper you’re accusing, but possibly even lower than that because you’re cherry-picking which potential mental disorder you’re discriminating against. It’s a free world, of course, but I’m sure we’re all trying very hard not to be hypocrites.

I wanted to TL;DR this entire post, but there’s honestly no way to do that without skipping over important parts. So thank you if you’ve made it to the end of this massive ramble. I understand that this is a very delicate subject and I am open to any and all people that would like to discuss this further. Back in the days of LJ, I used to try and do a post at the end of each year, looking back primarily at fandom and fic. I fell out of the habit when everything moved to tumblr, and then it seemed like I didn’t have anything to say since I wasn’t writing or really participating any. 

But I always liked the idea of it, because I love to be overly reflective on stuff. And talk about my fic. Any excuse! I shuffled around some of the topics I used back then and added a few I’ve seen around that I liked. It got… long, because I TALK, so I split into two sections.

Your main fandom of the year? 

    Marvel (MCU) for sure. Primarily with characters from Spider-Man and Iron Man movies.

Your favorite film watched this year?

    The Old Guard - I saw a couple trailers and everything about it looked like catnip. ‘It’s probably going to be so dumb, but I don’t even care,’ I thought. And then it was so good. It was so much fun and so much smarter than I expected and I loved each and every character and it just made me happy in so many ways.

Your favorite book read this year?

    Red, White, and Royal Blue, Casey McQuiston - I read it twice this year actually. It’s so… cute isn’t the right world. Sweet and hopeful and soft and comforting and intense. I liked every single character which is pretty rare. I cried during the sad parts and then again at the happy ending, like straight up sobbed - both times. I already want to read it again.

Your favorite tv show watched this year?

    Schitt’s Creek - I started it on a whim and because a lot of people had said it was good. The episodes were short so it wasn’t a huge time investment. The first season was a little rough, but there were enough funny moments that I hung on, and then… I kept getting fonder and fonder of these idiots as they grew. And THEN… it kept not disappointing me? 

     You grow to expect certain scripts, twists, jokes, especially in queer story lines. To wait for the bad thing to happen, because it always does. Instead, Schitt’s Creek kept going, ‘hey, here’s the set up for that! Guess what? We’re not doing it. Here’s the happy version instead.’ The relief of having that happen again and again - the last season I’ve watched (I’m sort of saving 6) I cried a bunch but it was always because I was happy. 

Your favorite album or song to listen to this year?

    1896 - I’ve been waiting for the new Steam Powered Giraffe album so eagerly for aaaaaages. Finally getting recordings of Zero’s songs! Lying Awake remains my favorite off the album, with Eat Your Heart and Bad Days on the Horizon high up there as well. I’m loving what Zero brings to the band.

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?

    I don’t know if I really did discover that much? I stuck pretty closely to old fandoms and the ones I picked up in 2019. Maybe Zodiac? It was definitely inspiring, and I want to write and read more in it. 

    Maybe the couple discords I joined? I still really dislike discord and am not on there much, and mostly lurk when I am, but having somewhere vaguely like the comms I remember makes me feel a little less isolated. It’s the potential, that maybe if I said something I might make a friend, or someone might actually want to hear what I say. 

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?

    The Watch - I mean, I knew it was going to be a disaster with every word said during pre production. I wasn’t ever going to be happy with it. And then it came out and was even worse and uglier and … disrespectful not just of the source material but of actual people connected to Terry. I’m beyond disappointed that this is what we got, and it’s probably going to be a long time before we get anything else. 

    Devil All the Time was terrible, but I didn’t have especially high hopes. It still didn’t manage to meet them. Yikes.

The most missed of your old fandoms?

    Maybe MASH? Someone I follow started talking about it and I was reminded all over again of the wonderful fics in that fandom. I went looking and a lot are gone (still on my computer, lol, but not online), but rereading was such a trip. A slightly depressing trip, but still. 

The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?

    Hmm. I’ve kind of not had the energy to invest in other fandoms at the moment? When The Witcher was having it’s big moment back in January, I had a feeling I might enjoy it enough to fall headfirst into the fandom, so I avoided watching it. Ikr? I don’t have the time or the energy to actively seek anything out. 

Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?

    SO EXCITED about Winter’s Orbit. I mean, the third Spider-Man movie for sure, with worry. The second Venom movie, ugh yes. I have tentative hopes for Jungle Cruise? Jumanji was stellar and I always enjoy Dwayne. I have both hope and dread for the new Suicide Squad - I did love Birds of Prey, so if it’s along those lines, yay. The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard because it should be some fun garbage, my favorite kind. I don’t know how I feel about Dune, but, uh, I’m anticipating it. It seems highly unlikely it will actually happen, but The Wheel of Time TV series. 

I want to be excited about Black Widow but it’s hard. It’s not the story I’ve been wanting to see, and I’m angry about Natasha not getting a movie until she’s dead.

You know. If any of it is released for real.

The Good: 

I moved to a better place. I got a better paying, better benefits, better environment job that lets me work from home. The house acquired 3-7 more cats depending on the month. I was able to get some serious problems on my car fixed. I have insurance and was able to start on some health stuff. No one I know got sick or died. I wrote a LOT.

The Bad: 

Aside from the obvious? Depression hitting extra hard during the winter. Having to put two kittens to sleep. Have my car be hit three times in our parking lot. Being driven INSANE by one of the cats for months while the vets were all closed. Kidney stone. Dealing with several health problems. Stalling for months on Gotcha.

The Indifferent: 

Not leaving the house often or easily. Enjoying a new fandom but not doing great at making connections (still real awkward, bud). Raising kittens and saying goodbye. Need new tires. Reading a lot of fic but not a lot of books. Having more pay but more expenses as well (wth insurance??).

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

    SO MUCH MORE OMG. I mean, even just counting posted stuff! (I probably wrote a solid 300k of Gotcha this year.) I did not expect or plan on doing Kinktober, so that’s a whole 31 fics right there. I also wasn’t planning on doing any exchanges - I have a History - but then I did three? And beyond that, I did not expect for everything to get so LONG.

Topic you wrote that you would never have predicted in January:

    Tony/Quentin. Goddammit @the-me09 They were like hey, they could be interesting! And while I agreed, I had no ideas for them. THEN they had to go and write Just Bodies That Collide and next thing I know, I’ve got ten fics featuring them and two-six series focused on them or Peter/Quentin/Tony. What the fuck. 

Leitmotif of the year:

    Vulnerability, I think. I had a bunch of things typed up and they all circle back to vulnerability in the end; sex, being seen, being wanted, sharing trauma, asking for help, trying something new. Offering a soft spot in the hopes it won’t be hurt. 

Favorite character to write about: 

    Tony Stark, for sure. There are just a bunch of slightly different takes, and a lot of canon to work with (kind of frustrating too though). And I’m a sucker for emotionally damaged snarky traumatized characters that are viewed poorly both in universe and out. 

Favorite kind of fic to write:

    This year? Fluff and smut combined. Maybe that’s not the right term really. I keep looking for and writing, even in the angstiest fics, for those soft moments. Sure, maybe it’s a super smutty kink scene, but I want the affection to be obvious. Maybe everyone is consumed by guilt, but I want it to be based in caring too much. Maybe there’s no real love, just sex and even that’s messed up, but I want to find that tiny bit of fondness. 

    And I want happy endings. Or endings that look like they’re going to be happy, at least, even if there’s all the angst first. I don’t think I’ve killed anyone this year? Who AM I? 

Biggest disappointment:

    Not finishing the rough draft of Gotcha. I was making such good progress in 2019, from August to December. Even after the move, I basically finished part 6 in January. I fumbled around and fussed with 1 a lot, but that had already been given one draft, really, and I got through half of 4 before I slowed to a stop. I’ve barely gotten anything accomplished on it since June. Bits and pieces here and there, but nothing significant, not like I was doing. I can excuse October, due to 80k invested in Kinktober (yikes!), but aside from that… I’m sad. I’ll finish it eventually, but I really thought I could have the first draft done in a year. I’m sitting at about 480k out of what I’m almost certain will be 700k. 

Biggest surprise:

    Kinktober! It was kind of spur of the moment, decided just a week in advance. I’ve tried month long or even like, 20-25 day long challenges and I don’t think I’ve ever completed one. I thought there was a good chance I’d do so again, so I gave myself a little help and made my own list of prompts, things I knew I liked and hadn’t done much of yet. And it worked? I actually completed it, what the hell? Despite spending five days travelling near the end! Despite falling behind in getting ahead and writing a bunch of stories the day they were to be posted! Despite apparently forgetting how to do short form! 

    I, uh, could have done without the spawning of eleven series or sequels or continuations jfc WHY SELF.

Something you learned this year:

    Ideas breed ideas. I swear to god, the second I sit down to think through a current idea, I wake up the next morning with three more. 

    Words need to be restocked. I need to consume new - not rereads, not fic - content every so often to refresh my word bank. It is astonishing how quickly writing goes again after I’ve done so.

    I can write so much more than I thought I could. I can do so much more than I thought I could. Yes, I can complete challenges without dropping out early. Yes, I can do exchanges and not regret it. Yes, I can write more than 100k, more than 200k, more and more - and I can write 10k+ easily too. Though I wouldn’t mind if I could once again write less than 10k without feeling like I’ve cut off in the middle. 

    My time is shrinking, and if I want to write as much, I’m going to have to make the time. I can’t rely on three days off a week, on seven hours of uninterrupted overnight shifts, on hyper focused writing binges that leave everything else around me on fire. 

Most memorable comment: 

    So, so many! I can’t pick one. I’ve been really lucky to get a bunch of really detailed, enthusiastic, analyzing comments across all different fics. One of the types that always sticks with me are the ones like ‘I didn’t think/know I liked this ship/kink/twist, but fuck, apparently I do? You made me, what the hell?’. 

What, if anything, are you going to try to do differently in your writing in the new year?

So with writing Gotcha but not posting until it’s done, my view of what I’ve written vs anyone else’s is extremely skewed. I’m sitting here thinking, hey I’m 400k in and got another 10k done today, so much writing! While anyone looking at my AO3 account (for most of the year) is like, you’re averaging three months between fics :(

    All that to say I want to try and get something posted more frequently while I’m working on Gotcha.

    Also, writing for kinktober was really interesting - pushing myself to write every single day, often for that day’s post, forced me to get back into shorter form fic. Which used to be all I did? But it was surprisingly hard to just stop and not write more. So I’d like to challenge myself to write more fics under 10k at least. Maybe even under 5k though that might be asking a lot lol. I might get there with the many continuations of those fics I’d like to do. Does that count?

Goals:

   I want to hit 365 fics. :) I’m only 32 away!

    Aside from writing - 

    I’ve really enjoyed the reading record sideblog I started this year. I’ve let it lapse a little the past month or so, but I’d like to keep it going strong. 

    I’d like to leave a lot more comments. I want to get better about allowing imperfection - I want to write The Best Comment, but in the end? Probably 90% of fic writers are going to be happier with a comment expressing enjoyment in any way over no comment at all. 

And not just on fics, but on general posts as well. It’s hard not to feel… weird and stupid and invasive and rude leaving any sort of comment on someone’s post if I don’t know them at least a little. I have godawful rejection sensitive dysphoria and a lot of interactions that ended poorly; I’m really not good at people. But as dumb as it feels to say those things, I know I am thrilled and warmed and happier when there’s a reblog with tags or a note or a comment or an ask or just, any small interaction that shows someone out there notices and cares, at least a little. There’s no reason I can’t at least try to offer that to other people. 

    I’d like to make/run a couple challenges of my own, later in the year. I’m still figuring out what I want to do and what I could do. I’m really interested in doing something that’s not focused on creators, but the readers; some sort of comment or rec challenge maybe.

    I want to find a cheerleader for Gotcha. I’m struggling to keep up my motivation to write it when it’s already in my head, where I can ‘read’ it any time. There’s a line between depending too much on external validation and trying to generate all your validation yourself, and I’m getting to a point where I think I need to ask for help (gasp! The hardest thing EVER).
