Im still thinking about Belinda. The biggest problem with the finale is not that she became a mother. You could have kept the Poppy storyline and had her become Poppy's mother. But for a character who from the off valued and pushed to have her agency respected, the fact that this child didn't come into her life through any choices she made should have had ramifications. It's the same problem as in Interstellar Song Contest. Belinda recognises that the Doctor is dangerous in episode 1. He essentially kidnaps her and nearly gets her killed multiple times after that so. As much as she can like the Doctor, how does it not become a sticking point to her that the Doctor TORTURED someone and nearly got her killed AGAIN. And then again in Wish World/The Reality War, she has a child, but it's because of Conrad and the Doctor's wish so when she realised this she could have still felt like "I have memories of Poppy and I am her mother and I want to keep her safe" and also "Doctor I just wanted to go home and now my life has been changed so radically without my consent" and when they were discussing the possibility of losing Poppy she should also have had a moment to recognise that because of the Doctor she is facing a huge huge huge loss. The loss of a child is no small thing. What im saying is there were no emotional ramifications that felt truthful to the Belinda of Ep 1 throughout this season. Her character was cheated of any lasting traits and personality. She could have even come to recognise that she wants adventures with the Doctor but still reckoned with the fact that she was right. He is dangerous. He is pretty words and talks of destiny and then wreaking chaos into her life and upending it without her say so. He's like fire. Stand too close and you get burned.

We've now gone from people harassing Halle Bailey because she played Ariel and people decided all mermaids have to be white for some reason, to people harassing Avantika Vandanapu over a FANCAST of her as Rapunzel in a potential live action Tangled that hasn't even been confirmed! This ask genuinely drove me to tears when I realized I don't even know what the freak out thing in Chapter 3 is. It's so funny. Like. There's a few you could argue, unfortunately. Maeda and his beautiful work during the floor investigation. Maeda and his great time on the stairs going to the rec room. Maeda and his good job with Iranami's ribbon. Maeda and his beautiful response to Tsurugi's ideas in the hallway. Maeda and his incredible conversations in Tsurugi's dorm during the investigation.

His fun time with Tsurugi is definitely the biggest freak out + not polite moment that comes to mind but like. He's sort of been up to things this chapter. I don't know team I think maybe he deserves his freedom from the timeout corner. Free my boy he didn't do anything! I mean he did make choices but I think they were good ones. Maeda and his flawless job not leaving Tsurugi alone with Higa, like he promised Uehara. Thanks Maeda.

You know, i swore off of watching any more marvel movies for a few years, but I did watch DP 3 because well, i used to know what deadpool used to be, and it used to be GOOD. it used to be not just funny, but it had heart too.

But well, it was very silly to expect anything like that when all marvel seems to be doing now is treating characters not as characters, but as conduits for one liners and jokes. Its the death of sincerity. The death of art, really. And the writing laughs at you for expecting anything more. Its laughing at you for ever having connected to these characters... because theyre NOT characters anymore.

And I guess thats why ive fully lost my passion for this stuff as of late.

And I cant even take it as brainless slop, because this brainless slop tells you with no pretense that this is a souless cashgrab that you fell for. And an expectation for a film... well that was your own mistake. Fork over the cash, waste your time, and move on.

I think the reason I like the 5 Eccentrics so much is that it's just such a good depiction of the….variety of friendship. Because it was a group literally created to be destroyed. It was, in other words, a forced union of 5 people who might have never or barely interacted. Yet even with that, even knowing that, they all chose to have a meaningful friendship with each other - they chose to be friends and remain friends even if their union was forced, even if the very reason that they met was to be taken down. It's almost the arranged marriage trope but it wouldn't work as well like marriage because it really isn't that. It's like the family system (brought together by chance and a common identity) but it's still different. Because they didn't HAVE to be friends even if sharing the same label, because they didn't have to keep sticking around each other and become a real family. They chose to be friends in spite of all odds, chose to be grateful even amidst their destruction, and forged a precious bond that not even their predetermined fall could break and in this essay I will -
