What’s your OTP for your Muse(s)?

Hm! I won't say it here, because I don't want to give the wrong impression. I will say I do have a few OTPs! My close friends/besties already know my bias!

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

Excluding the big NO-NO (r*pe, non-con, underage sex, and etc.), I'm pretty open and willing to try a variety of things for shipping. It can go from fluffy/playful to angsty next. On that note, I am also open to exploring toxic ships/red flags as well. :3

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

As someone who RP's muses who are either in the three digits or immortals, I can safely say as long as they are both ADULTS who are consenting, all is good. I will say NO if our muses have a parent/child bond like Muse A has raised Muse B since they were a kid, or anything similar to that.

Are you selective when shipping?

In general, it's a yes.

Mostly because I don't get home until the evening and by then my energy is pretty low. It takes time for me to sit down and focus on tumblr replies. Too many things happening can feel overwhelming for me, especially if I think about making sure shipping with the same muses are different/varied. It hasn't happened yet as my activity levels here are random! But I am thinking it about now and rjrbrjrhrje Y e a h. That is why I made the shipping rule for new people who are following me the first time.

Otherwise, if we're already friends, chances are we already went feral about the characters/ship. I don't mind going straight into pre-established ship or RPing (plotting) how they got together. I'm not picky in that regard.

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?

I don't think I have reached that point on this site. If I do, I would say the moment they start stripping while kissing and getting handsy with each other. Maybe there's touching the private parts. At that point, as I try to follow my own rules, I would probably move the full NSFW into DMs/IMs.

I would say just be direct and ask if we can ship our muses together. I will say "yes" most of the time, especially if we have been plotting in the DMs and have a few IC already). Because, the more we talk about our muses dynamics and each other, I am more likely to fall in love and turn feral! I will be 100% on board shipping them! Like moreso if it's a character I am neutral about it's a BIG WIN because YOU made me love them!

What’s your OTP for your Muse(s)?

HM!! Very difficult question to answer. I was fortunate enough to write Nnoitra / Grimmjow for several years on here with Lexie, so that ship is dear to me, but I don't see myself writing them together again because yeah, Lexie's Grimmjow was just the perfect fit for Nnoitra. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get in contact with Lexie for a few years now, but I'm still forever blessed to have written this ship with them.

So, I don't really have an OTP for Nnoitra. His most popular canon ships, Nnoitra / Nelliel and Nnoitra / Tesla are not OTPs for me, but I'm still open to writing them if our muses click.

I honestly prefer either crossover-ships, OCxCANON or rare-pairs. I want interesting dynamics that I haven't thought about or tried before.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

I'm open to anything, as long as it's in-character for Nnoitra. It's pretty difficult ( or should I say impossible? ) to have a healthy ship with Nnoitra, as he is a very toxic person, so writing toxic ships is my jam. I'm fine with writing non-con ( Nnoitra's canon, hello? ), abuse, manipulation and so on and so on. The only things I will not write are things that I consider OOC for Nnoitra, such as him being the submissive in the relationship, any type of feminization-plot. I also won't write prefect lovey-dovey ships because that's just not Nnoitra.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

No age gap limits, but Nnoitra is not interested in minors. I also won't write ship with mods who are under 20. I'm in my late 20s and considering the sort of dark material I write and how toxic Nnoitra can become in a relationship, I feel more comfortable if my writing partner is older than 20.

Are you selective when shipping?

YES. I'm very selective when shipping. Mostly because it takes Nnoitra a good while to form that sort of bond with someone. I also like for things to develop "naturally". I don't do pre-established romantic relationships. I want Nnoitra to fall in love on his own, without me pushing him along.

I typically tag things as "suggestive //" right away if there is a sexual or graphic tone to the post. Nnoitra is a crude person so this can happen easily. I would only tag sex or foreplay as NSFW.

At the moment, I have no active ships for Nnoitra ( he's sleeping with a couple of people though, win for him fjfjfjf ). I really miss writing ships for Nnoitra, so I'm writing a few crossover ship fanfics for him (Nnoitra/Atsushi and Nnoitra/Kōtarō), but this is just self-indulgent because I want to see him happy from time to time ahaha.

Does one have to ask to ship with you?

No, you don't. It's absolutely cool to tell me if you want to try and explore a ship between our muses though! I'll be onboard for exploring, but please note that there is never a guarantee that Nnoitra will grow attached to your muse. We can set them up on a date ( Nnoitra is actively trying to find dates these days ), but again, there are no guarantees. If your muse has feelings for Nnoitra, feel free to tell me!

In Defense of Ladrien

Hello there everyone, and welcome to a shorter post this time. I'll be honest, I'm in a random Ladrien mood right now, so I figured I should go rewatch a few of the Season 2 episodes with it. As you do. Then I remembered...it doesn't exist. Not in canon anyway, and that's a real shame! Despite Adrien and Ladybug's mutual crushes on each other, we don't get anything except a couple times where they blush at each other and stammer through their sentences. Which okay, it's cute, but c'mon, there's so much potential here! So today I want to lay a bit of groundwork as to how Ladrien could have been improved in this show, and also (hopefully) open up a discussion about it, since I rarely see anyone bring it up in modern MLB. I guess we're all too busy with Sentimonster angst and questioning what's going on with Lila's three mothers. Still waiting to see how they'll try to write themselves out of this predicament... Anyway, today we're talking about the most underrated lovesquare ship, Ladrien!

First of all, it's worth mentioning that I won't be going over the show episode by episode. This is just a short post discussing the ship in general, not a 7.5k analysis like I did with Chloe, my keyboard still needs time to recover. So, I'm sure we all know the basics, but I'll give a simple overview of canon Ladrien just to have everyone on the same page! Ladybug (Marinette) has a crush on Adrien Agreste. Adrien (Chat Noir) has a crush on Ladybug. That's it. That's the ship. Nothing more to it!

Okay...well, things aren't so simple. Canon does give us a couple moments where this dynamic is toyed with, but they're few and far between, leading to a...less than adored ship in the fandom. Don't get me wrong, I love Ladrien! That's why I'm writing this after all, and surely there's others out there who ship it too! But when compared to Adrienette or Marichat...it falls flat on it's face due to the utter lack of content we have to work with. Thankfully, we at least have an established dynamic! And hey, with this show, even that's a bloody miracle!

However, I have seen a lot of people (in yee olden days) say they prefer other sides of the Square because Ladrien seems...a little dishonest. In their defense, it really wasn't hard to make the claim that Marinette's crush on Adrien was (by early S2) still quite superficial, considering they hadn't actually gotten to know eachother than well, and vice-versa for Adrien with Ladybug. I can see why, especially since these are the respective personas that are "least real". Adrien is forced to conform to his father's expectations and always be perfect, while Ladybug needs to be professional and has the city's safety to worry about, hence is unable to ever be genuinely "Marinette" while in the suit. Add to that all the identity shenanigans, and it's easy to see why this ship got pretty much dismissed by a large portion of fans back when it was still relevant. And given that Miraculous has since pivoted away from teen drama and more into the "crazy butterfly man wants to destroy the universe" territory, most ships except Adrienette (and Marichat in Elation) got left behind as the storyline progressed. Ladybug and Chat's relationship evoled, we had a whole arc where Adrien was depressed, etc. That's just the natural progression of storytelling. At some point, we have to move on with the plot.

Fortunately, I am here to present the opposite argument! Ladrien would actually be a very viable ship, especially because of this hero worship that afflicts both Marinette and Adrien! It makes for amazing and complicated interactions on both sides, and here's why! It's because Ladrien was misunderstood, or maybe even misrepresented by the show itself. In my humble opinion, it shouldn't (only) be about Adrien blushing the moment he sees his crush, or Ladybug stammering twenty times in a single sentence. That's all well and good, but look at that I said a moment ago. Ladrien, by the very nature of it's existence is dishonest. Neither Ladybug nor Adrien can be themselves with eachother, even if I have no doubt they would rush headfirst into some kind of secret romance if given the oppurtunity! But...that the point of this ship in my opinion. They both view each other as this perfect, can-do-no-wrong person and have placed one another on a pedestal higher than Lila's delusions! Ladrien is fundementally doomed to this flaw from the very start...but overcoming it is what's interesting!

Just...hear me out! Let's say that after Gorizilla (or some other Akuma with Adrien as a target), Ladybug goes to check on him post-battle to make sure he's okay. Maybe she visits him that night, and surprises him with her presence. They do their usual routine of blushing and stammering, and for one reason or the other, one of them confesses that they have a crush. Regardless of who it is, or how exactly this plays out, let's say for the sake of argument that they get together after another visit or two. Maybe Marinette thinks this is her chance and can't resist getting to know the boy she loves, maybe Adrien is the one to bring it up because Ladybug is his hero. The immediate first problem is that while they know eachother...they can't be honest with their partner. And this brings up an amazing character conflict!

For Marinette, it's possible she has doubts about herself and rationalizes that of course the Adrien Agreste would never see her, but be in love with Ladybug! There's a whole other can of worms here about Marinette's feelings in regards to her mask, but that's for another post. For Adrien, maybe he's a bit conflicted because Ladybug is in love with him...but not Chat Noir, who he considers to be the "real" him. And the more they interact, the more both of them realize that the other is blindsighted by the mask they wear. There's genuine moments sprinkled in between, but feelings of inadequacy keep them from truly connecting. Think "the wall between us" metaphor. But...just when it seems like neither of them is really that happy, when they start feeling like a mistake, both Ladybug and Adrien get a glimpse of the person behind the mask. She realizes that he isn't some perfect, unreachable guy, and he in turn figures out that she's trying so hard to be good enough for him. This can happen in an infinite amount of ways, and I guarantee there's at least some Ladrien fanfics out there that do it! And I'm really glad, because it means someone else gets it!

After this we have a myriad of possibilities as to how things could go, but regardless, things absolutely change in their dynamic. They slowly start to getting to know the person behind the mask. Naturally, they both find themselves even more in love, then eventualy there's a reveal somewhere there, they get together officially, etc. You get the point, right? The reason why Ladrien is interesting is the dichotomy between Maribug and Adrichat's identities. It's the idolization that blinds them slowly fading away to reveal the truth, it's the feelings of insecurity that plague their relationship until everything finally comes to a head! If Ladynoir is parters in battle to lovers, Adrienette is high school sweethears, and Marichat is friends to secret midnight visits to lovers, then Ladrien is idols to friends to lovers! And I absolutely adore their dynamic!

Now, I'm obviously not the first person to bring this up, since I distinctly recall some great Ladrien fics from back in the day with pretty much this plot. And the reason why I adore them is that they play into the inherent dishonesty so well! I hope my point has come across, and if anybody wants to add their own analysis, by all means feel free! This post is supposed to open up a new discussion after all. Anyway, I have to go take a day off and go through my old Ladrien bookmarks! im going to be honest i don't mind chris thorndyke. in my ideal world sonic x wouldn't have needed him, because I hate the whole two worlds thing- the story should have just focused on sonic and not all the new original characters. ideally it would have been an adaptation that fleshed out events in games (especially classic games, where theres' not much of an established story) and relationships between characters. i complain about the human characters a lot with the movies but im not super fond about it for sonic x, either.

the thing about sonic x, however, is that all of their human characters are at least a little bit zany. tanaka and ella and chuck and topaz are likeable and memorable characters because they're fucking weird. they're fun. the sonic movies sort of treat maddie and tom as "average" people and they become boring in comparison to the extraordinary. especially since the sonic movies don't have the benefit of a LOT of time like sonic x does. sonic x can afford a few human focused episodes because they have like twenty more to go through. the sonic movies have a max of like two hours to balance the plot and the characters. maddie and tom aren't as interesting in comparison to the plot or the mobian characters.

also, people rag on chris a lot, but i think that's mostly because they don't engage with his character. he's a child who's neglected by his well meaning but busy parents. he makes a real, genuine connection with sonic, after spending a lot of time feeling isolated, and of course he's going to be upset when he has to lose his best friend. he's literally twelve years old! he's going to be emotional and reckless because he's genuinely immature. and i think that makes him compelling, too- he's a three dimensional character. he wants to be a good kid but he's going to make brash and selfish mistakes.

he's not my favourite character, mainly because i don't care for the rich character archetype, but i am not fond of people trashing on chris just to turn around and praise tom. like every criticism people have for chris can easily be turned on tom. "chris steals the spotlight from other sonic characters!" who do you think was the main character in sonic 1 because it sure as hell wasn't sonic. "chris was selfish for not letting sonic go home!" well first of all he DID let him go home. its a similar situation to elise from 06- they know what they have to do, and they will, but it's HARD. tom was selfish for endangering sonic and then initially wanting nothing to do with him. "chris is mean to helen." tom is mean to rachel and crazy carl.

i don't think chris was the best way to go about sonic x, but i definitely like him better than tom. at least when he's a dick he has the excuse of being literally 12 years old. but i do think giving sonic a younger kid as a companion was a wise choice on sonic x's part- it matches the storybook series, when sonic gets transported to a new world and helps a person with their issues while saving the world. it feels weird with tom and maddie, especially since they're forcing this nuclear family dynamic with him.

anyway tldr: chris is fine for the story sonic x wanted to tell with the two worlds theory. sonic movies missed out on giving sonic a human companion closer to his age instead of the weird family thing they're pushing.

Stex Appreciation Month Day 3: Greaseball

Fav actor: Honestly I’m not very picky on Greaseball in general so I don’t have strong preferences.  I just like as low, rich, and powerful a voice as possible for him.  Vocally I like Andreas Wolfram on the 2013 cast recording (being great at rapping in German with an Elvis inflection is one hell of a statement) and the very brief Megamix footage I’ve seen of Lashane Williams as him.

Fav song/scenes: Pumping Iron, One Rock and Roll Too Many and clowning around with Dinah in the megamix.  Honestly I liked basically everything he was in onstage irl last year, he was probably my favorite of the main characters since his numbers are almost more fun if you don’t know what he’s saying and view Elvis Train as the real protagonist for saving us from the REAL big bad: romantic ballads.

What Time Is It? is offensively bad as a song but I just love the concept of him and Electra having a rap battle and wish it was longer/more intelligent and more about beefing with each other vs fighting over some girl they both barely know. 

Fav costumes: I’m content with pretty much all of the replica ones, since they don’t vary too much

Ships/Friendships: Him and Electra as enemies with benefits especially if it plays up the irl arguments of diesel vs electric. It’s not a very deep relationship, they just want to kill each other but also make out violently.  If they joined as comrades maybe they could beat their real shared nemesis (automobiles, and Trucker Caboose as a minion of them) once and for all.  I’m way more invested in the potential of their rivalry vs the actual main plot tbh.

He doesn’t deserve Dinah (and she deserves better than him) but I don’t see them separating, they just seem too attached to each other. I definitely prefer their more recent dynamics where she’s way more assertive because it’s funny to watch her boss him around (I love Dinah harassing engines in general) 

Headcanons:  He’s practical and pragmatic, if perhaps a bit too dismissive of doing things in newer/smarter ways vs past proven ones.  Electra thinks he’s disgusting the way nonsmokers view smokers (it’s how he is about most combustion engines) but finds something alluring about his diesel clatter and how he feels alien to someone who mostly works in urban environments where it’s electric-only.  

Unpopular opinions: I’ve been haunted by the thought experiment of “what if Mykal Rand played him in another timeline?”.  He’d probably pull it off but has SUCH an un-Greaseball face that you have to just forget about him looking like Elvis and find what else works with the general vibe and themes of the character.  Which opens the door to “what else could they have done with Greaseball if he varied as much as Electra visually/character-wise?”

I think he’s fine as is and doesn’t need changing because he just works (there’s a looot of things that need fixed in Stex before even thinking about that).  But if I had to modernize him slightly, I’d make him more like Gene Simmons/KISS in general to scoot him forward about two decades.  Still a VERY visually iconic inspiration and it would barely change the vocal style, over the top macho character, and “rebel” turned rock establishment aspect.  You’d even have a free excuse to finally give him some fun makeup for once!  It would also be relatively easier to genderbend him because Gene sings a bit higher and his costumes have always tried to make someone lanky/soft look bulkier so you wouldn’t have to struggle to find actual Chadettes with the right look already. 

In a similar vein, I also like the idea of cat facepaint Greaseball the longer I think about it.  It’s such an ironic animal motif for a macho character but it suits the “cat whisker” livery of a lot of midcentury locomotives and the diesel engine purr/growl. Also ties into the KISS thing in a way that won’t lead to copyright issues lol

(I can’t really say much on Wembley Greaseball other that I’m intrigued by the concept and will draw my own idea of female Greaseball eventually (metal-leaning design based on Floor Jansen and Noora from Battle Beast).  From what I’ve seen just doesn’t seem to look/act tough enough for me and the costume is too narrow/glossy for my liking but I think the idea has potential.  I am always in favor of randomly butchifying male characters because it’s fun.)

years of experience?: since I was a wee'un! I was the kind of kid who ran around make-believing that I was a character in the Hardy Boys and stuff like that, and that and creative writing were my pipeline into written rp. I started on forums writing warri/or cat ocs, and it was a whole journey from there. I starting rping on tumblr in 2012.

fluff, angst, or smut?: I like all of them! Angst most of all. I had a period of time where I wasn't writing smut so much, but I'm swinging back into finding it fun to write more regularly. And fluff can be fun! Tho I tend to prefer fluff threads in established dynamics. I think it adds a lil extra depth to it for me.

plots or memes?: Both! I do like memes, though I find the threads have something of a tendency to peter out without any ooc discussion to direct it? Unless you've discussed some kind of dynamic prior to meme-ing back and forth? In which case I think the memes can carry themselves more. If that makes sense?

long or short replies?: I like both! My muse is very fickle, so I never make any promises either was as to which length of reply is more likely to get an answer faster. I try very hard to consistently craft replies I'm proud of; the length is less important to me. I tend toward longer replies when there's more plot behind the thread; otherwise, it's the whims of my muse.

time to write?: it used to be night time (like, 3 or 4 am) but now the best time i have to write is between classes, around noon, or while laying in bed at like, 7 or 8 am before i crash, some "nights".

are you like your muse(s)?: i would say harry is most like me! but i tend away from my own traits in writing characters, as a rule of thumb. it's more fun for me to write someone i don't have as much in common with.

MOST ACTIVE MUSE : It can change but lately it’s almost always a dragon and second is a fae. I think a lot of that is because they’re part of groups with dynamics with other muses of mine that I can also have fun with incorporating. EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS : A side blog for about a month before I took the plunge and made this one! Leeeetttt’s seeeeeee, like 2015? I was a senior in high school and I’ve been here suffering ever since!

BEST EXPERIENCE : Absolutely absolutely the worlds and friendships I’ve made here. Some of my favorite years here were getting to create so much with @thewolfisawake​ and a friend who’s unfortunately no longer online. Kirei and I have been friends basically since I started and oh man, the love explosion I could go on about. Eight years this year! My rotten soldier, my sweet cheese, my good-time gal, she’s been with me through the best and worst days of my life and I cannot ever begin to truly articulate how much our friendship means to me.

Getting a little less sappy, even though our third friend is no longer around, I’ve felt so honored to have still been able to make connections here and getting to create new worlds, new plots, and new friendships with people. It got a bit disheartening for a while because I wasn’t writing as much because it felt like all I could find were people who frankly didn’t bother giving me the time of day because I was someone new and someone they didn’t already ship with. It was hard to get interactions or write with new people. So this past little while has been an absolute blast.

RP PET PEEVE : Oh my gosh I feel like I go on about this so much that it’s going to get annoying but it’s always my most consistent number 1 issue over the years. Shipping. Smut. Only caring about ships. Only caring about smut. Heck, only caring about solely your muse in a ship or only caring about writing smut for our ships. Dropping even attempting to interact with a muse of mine like a hot potato just because you realize the possibility for romance isn’t happening or because I didn’t immediately jump onto the ship bandwagon with them. I swear I’m not anti-ship because I also really like writing romance and I think writing smut can be fun! I just hate when it seems like that’s the only thing someone cares about when writing with me.

I guess it’s like...you create this fully fleshed out muse with hopes, dreams, aspirations, story hooks, and relations to other muses but none of that gets touched because you’re only used as fodder to write out “And (my muse) kisses (your muse) before having wild and raunchy sex with them” over and over again. I feel like it comes as no surprise if you’ve followed me for even a short amount of time that I really enjoy creating plots and events and things like that with our muses. It’s just how I prefer to do things. I’m also here to, like, write with people, not write out romantic scenarios for people, if that makes sense.

So if it’s obvious, and it always feels like it’s pretty obvious to me, when what we want out of something isn’t matching-- and worse, my muse is being treated like a glorified sex doll? Yeahhh. It’s why I wrote that big dramatic rule update/PSA post a minute back when I was going through some spring cleaning (also talking about my #2 pet peeve-- mutuals I can’t get to write with me)  and-- I’m glad I did? I was right, I would not have wanted to deal with that with how stressed I am now and I’ve been enjoying using Tumblr and writing out muse mess as a breather. So, pat on the back to past me I guess?

Kind of stealing Marshy’s sentiments (who I’m also stealing this meme from too, hi) I’m a big fan of ships but I’ll never insta-ship, and depending on the muse, I genuinely mean it when I say that it may take time to get there, but I think the journey is part of the fun anyways. Anyways, I rambled again! Sorry!

PLOTS OR MEMES : I’m fine with both! I always tend to automatically resort to memes or fun dash things rather than long-form plotted threads when I’m super busy or tired, which is why I haven’t touched a tracked thread is a hot second ahahaha.... But I like both! 

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : *SpongeBob out of breath meme* How long are we talking? I can do long, it just depends on the muse, my energy, and if I have enough to work with. Longer threads may take me a while to get to since they require more attention and focus, but it all just depends!

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES : Some yes and some absolutely not and thank goodness for that. I feel like most of my muses differ from me more often than not, and the only ones I may share similarities to are the introverts like Veritas, Raven, Aur, etc. Veritas, being my first ever muse, has more pieces of me than anyone else, but really that’s more like some of her personality beats and awkwardness than anything else and I still think she’s still a lot cooler than me personality-wise anyways!

3. do you have a pet peeve when it comes to shipping?

I do have a few pet peeves when it comes to shipping. The first, is some people assuming just because I ship a character with someone else muse that it automatically means I will ship that regardless. This goes for just because someone ships their muse with another person who writes same character as me, that doesn’t mean I will ship with them too. While it maybe true that I adore certain ships no matter what. I don’t like having someone force their muse onto mine. I have had this happen before and it really does just drain my motivation to want to write with that person and in general sometimes too.

Another pet peeve of mine is not bothering to read someone rules when it comes to shipping. This is a huge red flag to me because how is someone going expect another to understand their boundaries if they don’t take time know theirs. For example there are ships that make me highly uncomfortable for valid reasons, so when someone still tries to send me asks trying ship that..it just makes me really not want to be here for a bit. I usually end up soft blocking or blocking to curate my space but still it isn't much to read someone else rules for shipping. Both writing partners deserve to feel comfortable.

The last one I can think of is people being hateful towards a ship. For example, my Riku I write as being gay. It's just how I perceive him, there was a time I was writing Soriku on twitter and people would like vague tweet about a thread me and my writing partner were working on. Someone even called him a dog once, which please don't. I get some characters might talk this way but the character who said this to my Riku was another Sora so;;; yeah just be respectful with how someone portrays their character sexuality. As someone that's bisexual and gotten hate in the past, it just is very discouraging when people in character will be hateful towards a character because of their orientational. Just people need be mindful of how they are coming across even in character.

4. do you prefer to plot a ship, or would you rather “wing it”?

I am a slow burn ship writer, unless the person is a close friend and I trust them with my muse. I still ask that they talk to me about it before just randomly sending stuff. Plotting is much more fun to me though, it allows so much development over time. I adore going back through discussions or threads with shipping partner’s and just seeing how the characters fell in love with each. That growth and hardships they maybe faced to get to that point.

Now this isn’t to say that I am against winging it sometimes there are threads you just want to do something really soft but again this is mostly with friends or mutuals that have talked about shipping certain characters with me. I do ask that if someone would like to ship to ask first and we can definitely talk about it. I’m not going out right say no but again it depends on the ship. There are ones I will never do for boundary and comfortably reasons. Communication is important regardless.

5. do you prefer fast plots, pre-established relationships or slow burns?

Slow burns, I want to see the chemistry between two characters form. Did they start out as childhood friends and develop from there or was it one of those they met later in life and it grew over time. I just think it’s important to a ships development to see their emotions. Why did they end up falling for that person, how does the other make them feel.

Again though, that isn’t to say pre-established one’s are bad because they aren’t. There are some characters I write that are canonical in love with another character but they still have some development that lead up to that. I also am not opposed to writing pre-established ones since that does give a lot to work with, but with these type of dynamics I usually am only comfortable with friends.

Like you're making us see that even if they has same dynamic at other world, (Erwin still have authority on her), reader isn't tying hersef to it. I can be wrong, that's just me but it's beautiful. They surpass worldly labels. And Erwin isn't pursueing her so far which is realistic because he is professional.

I also say this is what reader-insert is indeed because I really imagine your fic exist even in orig Aot. Every canon charac have same characteristic and you make reader very real like them.

Erwin's action is very realistic and accurate like orig aot. It is a challenge only few could do because Erwin don't like entering relationship like what orig manga says.

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING? I am, but only when it comes to the actual writing (I don’t ship based on faceclaims or lack thereof, and I don’t care whether a character is an OC or canon), and the quality of the character: I like complex, characters that have been fleshed-out with a strong presence, balanced strengths and flaws, and an established, consistent personality that I can bounce Ariveth off.

HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY’RE CONSIDERED NSFW? I think clothes-off is the cut-off, or intimate touching that becomes graphic in description. Depends on the thread!

WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH? Basically all the characters she’s currently romantically involved with lol. There are also a few characters I can see future potential with too, for sure.

DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU? Not really, unless you want to plot a pre-existing thing! Chemistry is key, and that requires in-character interaction. If an interaction naturally ends up flirty/romantic in nature, I will almost certainly be keen to ship without having to be asked (though I do like talking about ships anyway, and about the characters, where we want them to go, how we want them to develop etc. tl;dr I’m a talker dkdflks).

HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP? Anytime, since I love shipping in all forms: flirtationships, flings, ex-lovers, star-crossed lovers; everything. And luckily, Ariveth’s character lends itself well to all of that. I’m just a lot slower to ship serious, longterm stuff because I like to get into a thread or two to test the dynamic first.

ARE YOU MULTISHIP? Sort of! I plan to have a single ship for Ariveth’s canon storyline, but I’ll consider multishipping in AUs.

FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU? Ask me for a pre-established non-serious romantic connection, or just interact and lets see if it happens! Ariveth’s flirty nature makes it very easy to ship with her. 

As for endgame ships (and specifically Ari’s ‘canon’ ship): that’s something I’ll only consider doing after extensive writing. If our characters have already established chemistry and a romantic dynamic in more than one thread, and I feel like the other muse would be a good match for Ariveth, I will mention the possibility to you. This isn’t something I care to rush however, given the slight exclusivity it entails, and I want to make sure there's compatibility plus a healthy relationship/mutual investment with the other mun. I wanna be clear: I do not expect more time/effort be devoted to our ship than others at all (in fact I’d encourage equal investment among all your ships) but I’m very wary of committing Ariveth to a character whose mun neglects the ship or gets bored/goes through ships quickly. I prefer to have minimal yet quality ships. I hope you can see it from my perspective and understand my trepidation. I really want to be sure. If you ARE interested in this, interaction is the only route toward it; I will not pre-plot without proper development.

hai admins! so since this group had already started and you probably had a dynamic already forming, i wanted to ask if you had any expectations from applicants regarding the skeleton and more specifically to caper's role in rounding up the group. i've read through the skeleton but i feel there are multiple directions for the character to go in and since the group is already established i'd like to go for something that would suit the group. i hope this makes sense at all!

hey  there  !  while  i  absolutely  love  the  dynamic  we  have  going  with  our  current  muses,  i  would  say  there’s  plenty  of  space  left  for  caper  to  fill  !  i  can totally  see  where  you’re  coming  from  because  there's  definitely  different ways  to interpret caper, but i  wouldn’t  say  that  there’s  one  specific  direction  we  prefer.  we’re  really  excited  to  see  the  different  takes  people  have  and  to  see  how  you  make  the  character  your  own.  in  terms  of  making  sure  your  muse  fits  in,  i  think  a  great  way  is  by  thinking  about  their  connections.  every  one  of  our  skeletons  is  important  for  the  overall  dynamic  of  the  group,  and  the  connections  are  a  big  part  of  that.  the  canon  connections  have  also  been  wonderful  jumping  off  points  for  developing  other  dynamics  in  the  group  !  i  promise  that  all  of  our  members  are  excited  to  plot  with  caper,  so  i  know that  the  muse  will  fit  in  great.  also,  if  you  want  a  little  more  inspiration  about  capers  overall  vibe  we’d  be  happy  to  do  some  prompts  for  caper  or  of  course  answer  any  specific  questions  you  have  !

Anyway for real, I sure hope no one is deliberately releasing non-native and invasive earthworms, or bait worms, anywhere on Turtle Island/North American land, especially west of the Mississippi River or north of the Wisconsin glaciation. Earthworms and bait worms sold in stores are, by and large, not species native to the continent. They severely harm forests and soil ecology, leading directly to disruption of fungal networks; death of saplings and seedlings; death of forest understory plants; replacement of typical understory species with grasses; mortality in adult trees, as well; changes in pH; and other harm, especially devastating in northern hardwoods forests of the Great Lakes region.

Not gonna name names, but several times this year, popular blogs from the [forest-lover, anarchist/leftist/solarpunk, Moomin-fan, environmentalist-ish] realms of Tumblr have widely shared advice recommending the release of non-native earthworms or bait worms into the wild, as a form of “praxis”. I’ve got these posts screenshotted, but since I generally respect people in these circles - and in the interest of avoiding discourse and drama - I’m not going to share them. (A popular post was widely shared in February 2019; another “release store-bought earthworms” post was shared in December 2019.) I appreciate where their hearts are at. But:

"The western Great Lakes region, which is the area we're focused on, has no native earthworms," says ecologist Cindy Hale, a research associate with the Natural Resources Research Institute at the University of Minnesota in Duluth. Native earthworms in the region were all wiped out after the last Ice Age. The current population was brought by Europeans hundreds of years ago, (soil was often used as ballast in ships) and they’re now changing the face of local forests. Anglers are adding to the problem by dumping worms that don't end up on the end of a hook.

With support from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Hale's team created the Great Lakes Worm Watch website and outreach programs to stop the spread of non-native earthworms and to clear up the common misconception that they're harmless. [...] Earthworms may be small but when they take over a forest, the impact is dramatic. They cause the rapid incorporation of organic material into the soil, changing its structure, chemistry and nutrient dynamics. What's known as the duff layer is suddenly removed, and this duff, or decaying organic material on the forest floor, is habitat for several species of insects, spiders, small vertebrates, bacteria and fungi. It is also the primary rooting zone for most plants."What's really the biggest negative effect on the plants directly is the removal of their rooting zone. It can cause mortality of adult plants but, furthermore, it can cause a loss of reproductive potential. Non-native worms disrupt fungi networks, alter soil pH, damage seedlings, and allow grasses to gain stronger footholds to replace native/natural forest understory plants (from an EarthSky review of 2016 research by German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research):

Bottom line: European earthworms, introduced by early settlers, are changing the physical and chemical characteristics of soil in northern North American forests, creating a decreased diversity in native plants. [...] At the top soil layer, earthworms convert fallen leaves to humus. That’s a good thing if you’re growing a garden, but, in a natural forest, it causes a fast-tracking of the release of nutrients instead of allowing the leaf litter to break down more slowly, as it would without the earthworms.

Also, as they burrow through the ground, earthworms disrupt the mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship between fungi and plants. Some deep-burrowing worm species change the pH of upper soil layers by mixing in alkaline soil from deeper in the ground. [...]

All of these changes adversely affect native plants that did not evolve in such conditions. For instance, the goblin fern is rarely found in areas with high earthworm density. Other native plants facing threats include largeflower bellwort, trillium and Solomon’s seal. Earthworms also consume the seeds and seedlings of some plant species, influencing what grows in the forest understory.

In some locations, grasses, with their fine root systems that quickly absorb nutrients, dominate the forest floor. Non-native invasive plants that evolved in soils containing earthworms gain an even stronger foothold in these forests.

Non-native worms harm birch trees specifically and hardwood forests generally (excerpt from University of Toronto research, 2016):

The worms can cause dramatic changes to ecosystems by altering soils, reducing leaf litter and disrupting microbial interactions, which reduces biodiversity. Now it seems they are also eating plant seeds in the wild, potentially altering the make-up of forest communities. (…)

“They eat a lot more seeds than we think,” says Cassin [ecologist at University of Toronto in Mississauga], now at the Ontario Invasive Plant Council in Canada.

The study shows another way that earthworms can alter forest ecosystems, particularly for small-seeded species such as birch, says Lee Frelich, an ecologist at the University of Minnesota in St Paul. (…)

Once earthworms have invaded a habitat, they are almost impossible to eradicate, says Erin Bayne, of the University of Alberta in Canada. Conservationists must instead work to keep worms out of pristine habitats, he says, for example by restricting the use of worms as fishing bait and by controlling accidental transport of contaminated soil.

Non-native worms lead to wildflower, fern, and sapling death. In hardwood forests, this loss is probably due partially to how worms degrade the duff layer; the loss of this layer also provokes soil erosion and directly eliminates the forest floor shelter of larger invertebrates and amphibians. Studies conducted by the University of Minnesota and forest managers show that at least seven species are invading our hardwood forests and causing the loss of tree seedlings, wildflowers, and ferns.

Sugar maples, important both for forests and human food production, are devastated by the worms (from several years of research by Michigan Technological University across multiple national and state forests in the Upper Great Lakes):

A new study suggests that non-native worms are eating up the forest floor, causing sugar maples to die back and perhaps harming other forest dwellers.

Sugar maples are prized as much for their valuable lumber as for their sugary sap and dazzling fall colors. In Michigan alone, they are the basis of a multi-million-dollar industry. But several years ago, foresters began noticing that the crowns of the big trees appeared unhealthy, with bare limbs and little new growth. “They were losing trees before they could harvest them.” (…)
