My work literally closed refill requests and told all the providers not to send any medications, just to hope it's fixed Monday and take care of everything from yesterday and today and the weekend then.

you try and stand, but you cannot move. you pull at the flesh making up your stupid body, yet you dont move a blinding inch. your body just lays there, feeling weirdly exposed to the elements, with its arms behind its head.

now that you think about it, your clothes feel weird, and this pose is definitely NOT the usual starting pose, prone and sleepy. no, your arms are behind your head, almost smug. your legs are crossed with the one on top tapping its foot to some false beat you cannot hear. your mouth is pulled in some grimace or smirk, and there is a humming in your throat. Somethings wrong, off script in the worst way. you start to panic, but just as you start you hear mirabelle's call

"Sif~frin! wake up sleepyhead, we need to get ready!"

That's... not Mirabelle. that's her voice, yes, but that's not the Housemaiden. wrong line, wrong infection, wrong everything. you would get up to look at her if it weren't for your failure to control your body. suddenly, your mouth opens, and out pours a slimey voice that's disturbing in its familiarity.

"ugh, can it ms.alarm clock, we cant all be bright eyed and bushy tailed this early in the day, y'know?"

"oh siffrin, I know, but i need you to do me a big favor~ pleeease?"

your body sighs

"fine, what is it?"

as this mockery of the script continues, you are struck with revulsion, fear and confusion. you dont know how you managed to break the story this bad, but you need to talk to Loop. they usually have some clue on how to fix your faliures, or at least move on.

as you watch your body maneuver through Dormont, you catologue the changes made, and try to figure out what happened. when you look at the broken change god statues, you feel like you piece it together, but whatever you piece together gets taken from your mind just as fast, filling your thoughts with burnt sugar. in other news, Loop wasn't at the favor tree! its one more puzzle piece in your mind that makes up the secret of what happened. as your body approaches Bonnies start, you make a realization.

you did escape your loops, it wasn't a dream.

this isn't your stage. you have taken Loops role, without a physical form to guide with. the reason this script looks so off to you is because it isn't your script. you somehow got yourself stuck in another Siffrins timeloop, and can't even help them! you're going to have to watch them fail again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and you cant do anything. your family will move on while you are stuck here, forever. this realization throws you for such a loop you miss Bonnies talk entirely.

Hi Von! First off, I love tetro and you've done a great job! This fangan has actually inspired me to create the fangan ideas that have been rattling around in my head for the past year. I'm currently trying to do the character building and thought asking you a few questions could be helpful! First, how did you go about things like plot and character building/character design? Second, how did you go about assembling a team for tetro?

im glad youre enjoying it! thank you for the high praise! this got long, so ill put my answer beneath the cut!

one tip ill give before i say ANYTHING ELSE because this is my strongest gripe in the fangan universe: if youre planning on making something like tetro, or any fangan at all, DO NOT CAST UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO GIVE OUT CONSISTENT WORK. one of the biggest pitfalls in fangans is that fangan directors cast WAY before they actually need voice actors. if you arent yet in a place where you are going to be able to CONTINUE REGULARLY GIVING OUT SCRIPTS, you dont need to cast yet. focus on the other tasks!

in terms of plot/character building, you should consider what roles need to be filled in the story and what types of characters will be needed to keep the story interesting/moving forward. a lot of fangans struggle with having characters that dont really do a lot - not every character needs to be bombastically doing things all the time, but every character needs to have some sort of point in being there. it can be really tricky when youre working with the usual danganronpa numbers of 16 characters per cast, but take your time and really consider how you want your story to play out.

another thing i advise strongly is to make sure you're writing your characters in a way that lets the audience connect with them. the whole drive of danganronpa is that characters will die, so your audience needs to care when that happens. one of the biggest pieces of feedback i get with tetro is people saying that they like the whole cast and dont want to see anyone die - when you can cultivate that kind of cast, death matters. give each character something the audience can relate to in some way. you can still get interesting and specific with backstories and lore, but make sure the core of the character is something that someone can connect with. for example: harada. a lot of people probably cant relate to the idea of bullying people in their youth. however, many people can relate to the idea of doing something you regret down the line because you wanted to fit in or avoid trouble. the core should be something people can connect with. focus on that core!

in terms of assembling a team, i put up a casting call page! there are a couple different websites you can use, but this is the one i find to be the most effective. i only cast voice actors for tetro - other roles ended up getting taken on by people who were eager to do more work in the project or help out. i always say that if there's a job that needs doing in your fangan, you should be prepared to do that job entirely on your own, because the odds of getting help for free are slim. other people who know nothing about you or your project arent going to want to give you free art, video, music, animation etc., and from my experience, a lot of VAs will see a casting call full of calls for animators and artists and view that as a red flag. fangans are chronically unfinished, so make sure you can do every job by yourself if need be. learn whatever skills you need! there are tutorials everywhere!

as is said many times in the hypnosis community. "all hypnosis is self hypnosis." which is to say, YOU the subject are the one who's hypnotizing yourself. :3 hypnosis is ultimately just guided meditation. anyone can do it, even on their own. but its even easier with a guide.

to start with, let's do some simple breathing exercises.

with every breath in, a soothing sensation fills your lungs and spreads through your body

and as this goes, you take in more and more feelings of relaxation, letting them wash over you, and you release the tension that holds you back.

but this puts you in a cycle.

you soothe yourself so you relax

you relieve stress so you relax further

you relax further so you feel more soothed

you feel more soothed so you relax deeper

you relax deeper so you let out more tension

the tension fades away, so you relax even deeper

this endless spiral of relaxation pulls you deeper and deeper

you see, hypnosis is an interesting thing.

it's kind of like a feather falling gently down.

into the deep deep depths

but there is no real bottom to reach

no ground to land upon

because with hypnosis, you can always go deeper

how is that possible?

because hypnosis isnt a light switch can only go on or off

hypnosis is an endless void that you can go endlessly deep into

and the deeper you go the more relaxing it is

when read or listened to, if you wish it to work and trust who said it to you, you will enter trance with these words.

too often people are burdened with shame for who they are. for any number of reasons. maybe some feel they arent smart enough, or feel guilt for liking people outside the dating norm, or even wish they could just enjoy their favorite shows without feeling "cringe" for doing so.

in our minds, we build barriers to hide away from aspects of ourselves, as if shame alone can fix us.

but these sorts of things dont need fixing, they arent wrong or broken. if everyone is unique, why shame them for being so? isnt that a beautiful thing, worth celebrating?

well, the thing is, we've already found a way to lift barriers.

letting yourself enter trance like this, that was lifting a barrier in itself. letting you listen more deeply to my every word.

if we can open you up like this. we can easily lift away those worthless barriers that hide away your wonderful features. we dont need to live in shame.

so, lets do our part to make living life the way YOU want to, that much easier.

OMOZAI (bsd x Omori au)

An AU where instead of dazai joining the agency, he stays isolated from society after oda's death. Dazai blames himself for his death feeling like he should've tried harder to convince his friend not to go and that he should've gotten there earlier to stop oda from dying. He dreams of another reality where everything is different, the same darkness, but a little lighter.

(BTW, I can't tell if this is a script for a game or a fanfic, my writing style through this goes everywhere, I am so sorry for that-)

It starts with text that says "no matter whether your on the side of killing people or saving people," the screen goes to black again, another line of text shows up that says "there will never be anything that can surpass your mind." The picture they took that night they all shared together one last time. The screen goes black again "there is no place in this world that can fill your loneliness." The screen goes black again "you will linger in the darkness forever." The text fades again and we are transported to white space. It's dazai (the player), he's dressed in his pm outfit. It's the same layout as omori, but mewo is nastume, the sketchbook is his suicide book, the tissues stay and so does the computer and of course, the door. If you go to the door, you cant do anything yet. If you go to the computer and you check your computer, the options are to either stare at the computer or look at you calender. If you click the calender it just says "stayed with sensei" and "went to see ango and odasaku" scattered on different days throughout the calender. If you stare at the screen, the screen becomes blurry as you start to zone out. You can zone back in by just exiting the computer. If you check the suicide book, it's scattered with a bunch of little notes next to passages that say stuff like "don't try, too painful", "tried, didn't work", "that sounds disgusting!", "this doesn't sound too bad, might try". If you go to natsume you get "meow (what are you waiting for?)" And the tissue box is for "wiping your sorrows away". Suddenly something drops. You go to find the thing in a generated spot but in the meantime there are blue hands that try to get you if they see you (if they do get you, you go back to the a square), suddenly, you find a riot gun. You pick up the gun and it is now in your inventory. You can finally enter through the door, so you do. Once you enter, you're transported into a bar everuthing is dim at first until you see your two best friends sitting at the table, everything magically becomes more saturated, showing that his friends are his light. The one with black hair was sitting on the right, the red head was on the left, and there was a spot in the middle, a spot they were saving for you. They both notice you and the red head stands up and walks to you, taking the cigarette out of his mouth

ODASAKU: *with a slight smile* "hey DAZAI, how are you?"

ODASAKU: "ANGO and i were just catching up on work, we were hoping you'd show up"

ODASAKU: *he closes his eyes still with the same smile* "come sit down with us."

ANGO: *he looked tired, as always, and had a stoic expression* "well hello DAZAI, I'm surprised to see you, we didn't think you'd make it"

You sit with them in the middle on your little stool as the bartender serves you whiskey in a fancy glass with a huge chunk of ice in the middle, it was what you ordered everytime.

ODASAKU: "So, DAZAI, how are you? How's work been?"

Options: "it's been alright, just stressful with that shrimp always bothering me" or "it's been stressful cause of MORI"

First option scenario:

ANGO: *he slight smiles*"I know, it must be, but you two make such a great team together on missions."

ODASAKU: "I agree, You just have to be patient with him and yourself."

ODASAKU: "are you sure you hate him? You seem to be really passionate about hating him.."

Dazai starts to blush a ton and his cheeks turn a bright red seeming to squirm in his seat from that comment (he's clearly speaking but I wanted dazai to be like omori where be barely talks, but I still wanted his personality to shine through so it's gonna be a lot of that lol),

Odasaku laughs and says

ODASAKU: *clearly amused* "don't worry dazai, we'll keep this secret to ourselves"

Second option senario:

ODASAKU: "Yeah....the boss is tougher on you than anyone I've ever seen, even if he tries to keep it behind closed doors."

ANGO: "tell me about it. I don't know how you deal dazai."

ODASAKU: "He recently gave me a mission where I had to clean up a crime scene that occurred involving a kid being murdered by his parents. I know he did that on purpose just to break me down and make me quit."

ANGO: " What a terrible person we all have to work for"

ODASAKU: "tell me about it"

Resume:

Everyone stays silent for a moment until ango speaks

ANGO: *he clears his throat* "moving on...MORI assigned me to go look at some documents at the port mafia's accounting facility, would you two like to come with me?"

ODASAKU: "Yeah, sounds interesting."

ODASAKU: "you in, DAZAI?"

Options: "yes" or "no"

First option scenario:

ANGO: "Wonderful, let's get going"

Everyone gets up and goes into a line, dazai leading.

Second option scenario:

ODASAKU: "c'mon DAZAI , don't you need more information on one of the people who died anyways?"

ANGO: "that's right, I remember you telling us about someone that you were interested in knowing more about"

ODASAKU: "you need to stop avoiding work, DAZAI, it's not good for your reputation. People won't take you seriously if you keep this up."

Dazai finally agrees and everyone gets up and goes into a line, with dazai leading.

Resume:

They all get out of lupin bar and get there in no time. Once they get in, they start looking through documents that have been written by ango and former obituary writers. Dazai opened a drawer and found an old picture that ango took of oda trying dazai's homemade curry. Needless to say, it wasn't tasty and it showed on oda's face in the picture. On the back of the picture it said "Dazai made curry, but of course since dazai made it, it wasn't that great. Oda agrees." Dazai held up the picture for everyone to see

ODASAKU: "I remember this day, it was the day I learned to never let DAZAI touch a cooking utensil ever again."

ANGO: "that's what I told you in the first place, but you just HAD to insist on letting him try to cook."

ODASAKU: "Well, maybe we can try again next time"

ANGO: *He sighs* "let's hope not..."

While they were still looking for the document Ango announces that he found the document that dazai was looking for. But...somethings off..

ANGO: "wait...I don't remember writing this obituary.."

ANGO: "wha...what Is this?!"

ODASAKU: "what's wrong ANGO??"

ANGO: "ODASAKU...You..You're--"

Suddenly, the screen than gliches out...

so full disclosure, door knocking is one of the few things that *does* cause me significant anxiety (completely unfounded), so I have stopped doing it. HOWEVER:

As someone who did lit drops and phone banking for Obama when I was too young to vote, door knocking for Hilary in college, worked at the poll for 2020, and text banking, door knocking, sign distribution, etc for state/local candidates in the 2021- 2023 elections, here's some more details:

You have lots of options for how you help, and some of them have nothing to do with talking to voters, but if you do chose a voter-facing option, most of those are about talking to registered democrats, convincing them to actually vote, not about arguing with conservatives

-canvas launches are parties. Usually a local bigwig will send you off with a peptalk and snacks.

-there's a script

-there's a checklist

-there's a map detailing which houses you are supposed to go to. The map updated as best it can be to send you to houses that will be welcoming.

-if the house has a bunch of republican and second amendment signs, you're allowed to say "did not visit, unwelcoming" on your checklist

-you can go in pairs or groups and take on neighborhoods with allies

Now, for your other options, text banking and phone banking also have scripts and checklists. Text banking especially is done from a web platform and you just hit "send" in the script to a big list of numbers. If someone is Big Mean there's a pretyped message that they will not get any more texts from you. BUT if you want to be sassy and write a personalized message, you can do that. Just Watch Out because the candidate might go through and see that you're being snarky.

Sign distribution. Have a car? Offer to take signs to people who want them! They will be so happy to see you!

In a similar vein, if you have a car and don't have to work election day and/or have some days off during early voting, you can drive people to the polls. My mom got a cat doing this one year.

Get started with any of this (and other opportunities too! Last weekend I literally cleaned a couple bathrooms and swept the office out, making the space more inviting for the people who's job it is to be there) by contacting your local dems. Try googling "[county state] democrats". They probably have a website with a volunteer form.

Worst case, if you cant find anything, go to early voting (find that information by searching "[state] board of elections" and there OUGHT to be party poll greeters outside with candidate literature who can get you on a volunteer sign up form. If you're in a heavily red district, presence might be limited due to allocation of resources, so you could also look up specific candidates and getvin touch with their campaigns.

Also, re: door knocking

The worst experience I've had was the boyfriend of the person I was actually looking for, who gave me some bullshit to get me to go away. Not mean, just stupid.

The next weekend, the first door I knocked on, the little old lady who answered was SO EXCITED that I was there, because she was literally filling out her absentee ballot right then and needed information about on one specific race that I was able to provide.

Way more experiences like the second than the first, but when your body says you're done, you're done 🤷

I have debated how to say this or even write it but I'm just giving in to try. Based on Max's interview and your recent anon on expectations I wanted to add my opinion no one asked for lol. But here's my thing as a long time viewer and pretty successful predictor.

I take all my clues from Oliver, he has in the past validated and acknowledged and even said he wouldn't promote if he thought it was baiting. He's very sensative to the fandom and the fact he is now leads me to believe that Buddie will be canon by the end of 5 or at least we will have a huge clue that yes its coming. Lets be real here Eddie clearly has PTSD and I don't think thats something we run over to start a relationship. But again, I think we will see it as heavily hinted if they arent already canon.

Now on to my worst case scenario. If the show really cant figure out how to write Buddie or isnt committing to it. I 100% believe that they are done with female LIs for both men. I imagine them actually being roommates for many reasons, either worried about Chris or heck saving money on rent. Have you seen LA prices. And its a cop out but I think for the remainder of the series we will have an ambiguous "platonic " family unit upgraded from S2 and S3. I get why people would be disappointed but I'm really at the point of leave women out of this and let me feel in the blanks if I have too. Give me their family time.

But again... take your clues from Oliver. He wouldn't tease if he didn't think that was the road we were headed.

I have to admit I'm a bit torn. On the one hand, I do think it matters that Oli and Ryan indicated they're down with Buddie happening. And the change that Oli went through, from refusing to like Buddie stuff since it might be misleading, to liking Buddie edits and art again? It did give me hope he might know the direction these two are on and that it's the one we're all hoping for. On the other, he's also indicated recently he hasn't yet read the script for this season's finale. So... IDK. He might not know as much as we think he does. There might be something else influencing his decision to like Buddie stuff again. Maybe he just missed them, or he decided supporting the artists matters more? I really don't know. At the same time, he might also know the general direction for Buddie without knowing the specifics, like the 518 script, making my whole point moot. XD

If Buddie won't go canon, I can't see them both remaining single. Because 911 would probably want to re-affirm that they're straight by pairing them with female LI's, and also 'coz out of the main cast, they don't have that many single characters, and they can't let the only two be the single pink elephant in the room... However, they may let them be single and still more wrapped up in each other than in anyone else and raising Chris together for the show finale... But I agree with you, that if I can't have canon Buddie, I would take 'filling in the blanks.' If it helps, I think no matter what, the show will always dedicate some of its time to the Buddifer family unit. 911 has made it abundantly clear that romantic or platonic, that little family unit is precious to both the fans and the show.

As for the interview, I have to say that it doesn't scare me into "Buddie is def not going canon." At least not yet. Kristen didn't say Buddie is def not happening. She could have, but she didn't. In fact, she indicated the romantic possibility exists and nothing was ruled out. More than that, she could have implied reading Buddie as romantic is crazy, but instead she admitted it's a valid reading. Even when she claimed it's not how she wrote them, she didn't de-legitimize this option. Also, when stressing that Buddie are just good friends, she added it's where they're at right now. Which... canonically, that's accurate. Doesn't mean they always will be, and her phrasing clearly left the door open for them to be something more at some other point. Plus... these show runners said there was no need for a Buck Begins, then did one, and then said there was no need for Eddie to break down, and we know how that's going... I really am not yet panicking over this interview.

Lastly, Kristen saying she drew the guardianship bit from her mother's rl decision... except, I'm sure her mother was Very Normal about it, as in, she was probably being a responsible parent, taking possible scenarios into account, then sat her bestie down for a talk, explained that because she doesn't want her daughter to be raised by her parents she's asking her BFF to be the legal guardian and gave this woman as much time as she needed to decide on what to say. But is that what Kristen wrote for Buddie? No. Because she too knows there is nothing Very Normal about them. She wrote Eddie making the decision based on a real life-threatening event, with emotions running high, making his decision an emotional rather than a logical one, Buck saying he wished he could have died instead of Eddie (!!!) and then, THEN Eddie, in Very Not Normal fashion, makes the emotionally impactful decision to let Buck know he's been Chris' legal guardian for basically a year, not asking him about it before making the will change because they both knew Buck would not say no (and them verbally confirming this to each other). That makes it less about Eddie's reasonable decision and more about making sure that Buck was emotionally ok, as I've detailed here. But wait, that's not all! We know Eddie's parents suck and why they shouldn't raise Chris, but there's also Eddie's Tia Pepa, or his sisters... he dismisses them all, and more than that, he doesn't even bring them up as the reason he's made Buck Chris' guardian. He's not turning to his best friend 'coz his family sucks. By not going "X can't have Chris 'coz... so I need you to step in," it makes it clear Buck isn't Eddie's default. He's HIS CHOICE.

no cause for real. you log onto a game and your character is born into a house and you're trapped there. theres literally nothing you can do to get out. its a level in the video game that takes you 20+ years to beat. the boss of that level is so fucking hard to beat- you cant even engage in real combat, you just have to avoid them. they're scary and violent and your health bar never sits above half-full.

as you get closer to the end of level one you start to know enough about the game to discover what the second bar above your character means. the bar that keeps filling up more? its tallying every aggressive and violent and mean thing you do. if the bar maxes out you're going to become an evil boss in someone else's game. horrifying!! you just want to get out of this level and start playing the real game!!

you finally level up. the new level? your evil boss from level one- the one that kept borderline destroying you? is suddenly weak and in need of protection. your deep instinct is to hit them with a KO and move on. but you look at that second bar. you wonder if that would max it out. make you a villain. i mean... you know better. maybe that boss didn't. they're just programmed like that right? so you take solace in the fact that they're too weak to hurt you and try to have fun with the game.

and you do have fun!! there's lots of mini games that help fill up your health bar! its super enjoyable and your so glad you didn't quit the game!! but... that boss still pops up and attacks you once in a while. and its a small attack. that you can totally recover from. but it keeps reminding you about how absolutely awful that first level of the game was. it makes you so angry. it makes you worry that the game will never actually be fun or easy. that something bad is coming.

but... the boss is so small and weak now. you remember how unfair it was when they attacked you when you were small. you don't want to flip the script and become their boss and ruin their game. you would feel like an awful person and it would ruin your personal growth. but god they deserve to be treated like that by someone.
