So I got the new Pokemon DLC for Christmas and I’m on a big Pokemon kick currently so I’m going to give a gift to my fellow Pokémon lovers. Now I’m more well known for Yandere work but I also do love doing more soft romantic stuff. It heals my traumatised self. So I’ve decided to go through all Pokémon games I’ve played and write romantic and yandere sfw+slight Nsfw headcannons for every character I personally like. Ah the original silent protagonist. I love this man so much, even more after his cameo is Sun and Moon. I’m not sure what it is about him but he has this strange allure to him, although I doubt that’s a unique opinion on silent characters. Anyway, onto the headcannons.

This is almost a given with the silent types but I feel like he is an amazing listener, only ever nodding to show he’s still listening or giving small “mhms”

You’re probably the only one he comfortably talks to other than Blue.

SPLATOON 3 DLC DIRECT SPOILERS AS WELL AS A FULL ANALYSIS OF MY THOUGHTS AND PREDICTION FOR THE STORY AHEAD/// READ WITH CAUTION AND SCROLL FAST IM NOT PUTTING THIS UNDER A CUT

OK SO AAAUGHRHFHHWHDH SPLATOON ORDER DLC ANALYSIS HERE WR GO MY THOUGHTS IM SO HYPED AND SHAKING AND HAVE A VERY BIG PREDICTION

First and foremost I wanna point out that the area the octoling was in looks a LOT like the square, all the buildings and the shape of the area. But unlike the square there’s a very weird building? The door kinda looks like the door in that one picture shown but I doubt it’s the same thing. The picture of pearl looks like it could be for an opening cutscene, which if so means the whole square being white might not be just for show/some weird dream sequence. I think this is actually what the square looks like right now.

The MOST important thing I want to point out is this weird stuff we’ve been seeing everywhere. The white coral the weird plants and ooze and vines and tentacles. It’s all kinda fungal like, and it seems that wherever we are square or not it’s SPREADING, like a LOT. And whatever it is seems very alive if so.

It’s all also coral looking but still very fungus like with the way it looks like it’s spreading, almost like some kinda of parasite. Going with the coral theme the brain shown is reminiscent of both an actual brain and brain coral. There’s no way a brain would’ve been shown among all this if it wasn’t an ACTUAL brain for this weird new parasite like thing literally taking over everywhere.

I’m very convinced the main story will center around clearing this, kinda like the fuzzy ooze. Both like a parasite they spread, pulse like they’re alive, and possibly both take control of things. Unlike the fuzzy ooze though this fungal stuff spreads FAST if it’s already taken over the square entirely, and we also don’t know who’s made it.

Speaking of paralleling the splat3 storymode, we also have this as a glimpse into the past, only unlike alterna, far FAR into the past. My friend @solsticesailor (you can follow them here, Instagram, and Twitter so pls do) who, who used to study dinosaurs a lot and was there for my live stream reaction, pointed out it seems like the bone structure of an aquatic dinosaur. If true that fits with splatoon, but makes me curious why it of all things was shown. Judd was shown in the first hero mode trailer because he was a mammal, which correlated with the story. Maybe dinosaurs tie in somehow?

Along with paralleling past storymodes this one seems very octo expansion like. A lot of the images do tbh. Wires, abandoned buildings with floating structures (Octarian tech), it’s all very Tartar ish.

I’ve seen some people already jump the gun and say something bad happened to marina but this could easily be maybe a cutscene where she’s just pointing out danger I heavily doubt anything actually bad happened to her tbh, though the glitch in the image has me concerned it’s shown in other pause screens too. Also along with that octoling we keep seeing, there’s someone else standing there.

It’s possible that “someone else” is one of the many other octolings we keep seeing, but that leads me to my next point

I think we’re gonna have two protagonists. This octolings photo was pretty much as clearly shown as Pearl’s and Marina’s in terms of quality, making them suspect to being important. The other octoling also shown in clear pictures looks a LOT like eight, so I think we might be having two protagonists. Agent 8, and someone new who’s also an octoling. Maybe who we saw at the start isn’t eight, as they share more resemblance with the one on the left. Black tentacles instead of eight’s signature red.

with the little info we have so far my storymode predictions are that something is SPREADING. Maybe made by Tartar back in octo expansion, but it’s something alive and dangerous spreading, and it’s up to agent 8 and pearlina to stop it. It kinda seems like we break into a facility of some sort? Could be where it’s being created? They showed clips of the rocket area in the first storymode trailer, it’s not far fetched we’d be seeing the end game point of the lab it was all created at too.

gonna be kinda going through multiple aspects and analyzing them, this is just my opinion don’t punt me into the sun please

starting off, im overall not a fan of rougelike games. so that has definitely biased my opinion. i didn’t like all the repetition and i got frustrated at it a lot, its just not for everyone! i found it became a lot easier once i figured out which colour chips and hacks helped me the most (drone boosts were big).

it took me a bit to actually finish my first run because the palettes i kept getting were weapons i’m awful at (brella, splatting, charger, BRO CMON) but i cleared my first run with the brush surprisingly. i understand how rougelikes work but it still felt kinda short and underwhelming.

the gameplay itself wasn’t terrible, the levels were interesting and i liked how you could choose the difficulty and rewards and such. colour chips and the drone were a really neat addition and i had fun getting used to it.

the lore was meh. kinda disappointed. i’m glad we got to see more of ahato/acht, just wish they got a bit more spotlight and development aside from the diary entries (they got lots, i’m just a diehard fan lmao).

the storyline in general was… a little lame to me? it felt like it didn’t really build off of much and it doesn’t give much room to expand from it (at least personally). felt a little predictable imo.

REWARDS! not bad! inkopolis square was expected, and it’s not my preferred area so it won’t be my default but i think it’s really neat and i’m excited to see it again for splatfests. really liked how we got the exact gear from the dlc as well, and the replica weapons (no tri slosh </3)

the final boss was COOL. very fun to play and much easier than i thought! (why was F28 harder than the final boss lmfao) the cut scenes were awesome, esp before the final phase. music went hard.

also. where is agent 4. cmon. cmon bro.

overall, meh. didn’t hate it, didn’t love it.

the main letdown i had was how the game actually played out vs. the concept art and how it was teased. it seemed like it was going to go in a much different direction, which is fine, just a little bit of a bummer. thought it would be a little darker like OE. side order was really hyped up and for me it just, wasn’t all that!

for me there was a lot of comparison to OE, i kinda expected/hoped for it to have the same hype. with that comparison it felt a little boring and short, ESPECIALLY in terms of rewards. it’s pretty hard to top unlocking PLAYABLE OCTOLINGS. OE had a LOT of brand spankin new stuff, levels characters plots all of it was so fresh and exciting, because before we only had basically 2 copies of the same story mode.

another thing i was talking about with sem was how in OE, since you didn’t need to beat every level right away to beat it, there was lots of new to go back and finish, AND most had multiple weapon options to 100%. SO has something similar, but again, feels repetitive to me. don’t have any motivation to do another run.

i kinda hope there’s a cool ending for arasaka, i also can’t imagine it being positive, but maybe they just let you go afterwards if all they want is johnny’s engram and you get some cool rewards. it’d be fucked if it was a bad ending.

honestly a bit disappointed you can’t play 3 or nv because they’re so fun. i haven’t played the dlc’s in 4, but from what i know about them, the 3 story ones alone make it worth it. far harbor is supposed to be really good, adds a new big area in maine and lots of quests to do. i’m really excited for that one. nuka world is like, an amusement park with functional rides and lots of fighting so i’m hype about that, too. automatrons has to do with getting robots for your settlements and stuff. the story ones are generally regarded as being better than the base game. the others add more to the crafting and settlement mechanisms, so their worth is really dependent on how much you like those features! if you enjoy them, they add to the worth, but some people could care less about them. i never messed with the crafting or settlements when i played it originally, but i’m going to do that when i pick it back up.

i had no idea the portal games are on switch, i might have to buy them on mine!! it’s one of the funniest games i’ve ever played, and i somehow forget that until i play it again. also, glados is my favorite video game antagonist. she’s incredible. i’m gonna end up playing portal at work if i buy it on my switch tbh. (i dont have the oled version, so im a little jealous)

yeah i completely missed it until now and idk how! but honestly i would say the gameplay is actually better and more intuitive on the switch than it was on PC, it just fits so well. totally agree about GLaDOS. the ending still cracks me up when i think about it. i loved stephen merchant as wheatley in the sequel too. it's super cheap for both of them on switch, i think i paid like £13 for both? it's called the companion collection. def def worth it.

im having a lot of mixed feelings. in general the game was fantastic. i honestly enjoyed every hour i put into it So much. i love the formula these games have and they just never disappoint me. the gameplay was super fun all throught the game like its really improved from y7 hawaii is cool the music was Fantastic the entire game and its just. it was an enjoyable experience. a wonderful entry in a series full of wonderful entries

some complaints tho. i was completely sure they were killing off kiryu coming in cause to me its what makes the most sense narratively. the guy is a fucking beast and an expert at stealing the show. which is exactly what happened. while kiryu is alive ichi will never truly be the protagonist of the series. and like. i dont mind that. weve had games with multiple protagonists and they work well. but this all feels like making up for the rushed ending kiryu got in y6 and backtracking on making a new protag for the series instead of fully commiting to ichi. am i glad kiryu didnt die? im not sure. cause theyve set everything up to have him appear on another game so itll depend on what they do next. i am glad that theyve dropped the daidoji stuff and that haruka will most likely appear again cause after all this time if they had him die alone and miserable it wouldve been absolutely terrible. like i guess thats the issue with kiryu in general. hes so big and hes been around for so long that like. what do you do with a character like that. how do you let him go without disappointing everyone but also. how do you keep him around without making him the center of everything. it really feels like theyve written themselves into a corner

i feel like ichis plot was kind of rushed or at least more barebones than expected. like this feels more like a kiryu game than anything else. the guy meets him mom for the first time in his life and they have so little time together. the stuff with palekana and lani feels like an afterthought. theres barely any mention of the fact that hes ebinas half brother??? like whats he gonna do now. they dont even show anything about that. will he stay in hawaii with his mom. will he stay in japan and continue with the dissolution bussiness? are daigo and co gonna help. is kiryu gonna help???? i guess well see in y9

Anyways some good stuff now. kiryus final segment was So good and hype. the jimas showing up to help. that little fight with them as support. the fight with ebina. very good. i also enjoyed ichis part but i feel it was a bit weaker (except for the part where chitose does her thing. shes my most specialest girl in the world. i hope they keep her for the next 10 games)

i would love to be able to comment on the post game content cause i enjoyed that in y7 a lot but sadly. its dlc and im not gonna get that until its very very cheap on sale :^)

Maybe it’s just cause Im an old fart and I’ve been here since the beginning but like, the SwSh stuff-like not every pokemon being available at the beginning-doesn’t bother me?

Like, it was WAY worse in earlier gens.

When Gen 3 first came out you couldn’t complete the National Dex right away, the rest of the games that you needed, aside from the opposite core game hadn’t been released. And the first of those games, Fire Red and Leaf Green, wouldn’t be released until a year later!

Gen 4 was the same, you needed all the gen 4 games (for version exclusives, and again, they weren’t all released at the same time so you had to wait a bit for HG/SS to come out to get the rest of the Gen 2 pokemon) and anything remaining would need to be transferred forwards from the past games, which you needed to have.

Same thing with gen 5, needed all the gen 5s for version exclusives and needed to use the transfer function (thus requiring you to have the past games) to bring forward the remaining mons if you wanted a hope of finishing the Dexes. And let’s not forget that in Black and White they decided that Zorua and Zoroark were to be stuck behind events FROM THE PREVIOUS GENERATION (the Celebi event in HG/SS for Zorua and one of the Shiny Legendary beast events in HG/SS for Zoroark) so you couldn’t even complete the REGULAR pokedex unless you had a past gen game. Luckily B2/W2 fixed this by making them just straight up obtainable in game.

The Gen 6 games still required a fair number of games to complete the dex, but the inclusion of Wondertrading (and a more accessible internet and connectivity was hit or miss on regular DS games cause it just, wasn’t often compatible w/ the commonly used security settings) makes it easier to get shit.

Basically, we’ve been spoiled in that ever since Gen 4, every game has had some kind of backwards compatibility built into it allowing pokemon to move forward from old games to new (Gen 2 to 3 didn’t have that option b/c vastly different hardware systems + just how things were programmed into the games/the pokemon). We got away with it cause the DS/DS Lite hung around for a Long ass time and the 3DS was similar enough. Meanwhile the Switch and Switch Lite are *very* different systems so you can’t just, connect them up easily.

Making SwSh the first games since Gen 3 to NOT be backwards compatible right away.

And man, can you IMAGINE the shit storm that would have happened had Nintendo released Swsh, with a full National dex of all 800+ available pokemon, before Pokemon HOME was released, meaning that while yes a National Dex would be there it would be totally impossible to fill w/o backwards compatibility.

Like, people would have raked them over the coals worse than they did. Despite the fact that.

And frankly the lack of a National Dex doesn’t bother me. I mean, we didn’t have one in Sun/Moon either. Yes all currently released pokemon were available, but there was no National Dex, just the regional one. I don’t recall people bitching about there being no National Dex then. The lack of a National Dex means it’s actually relatively feasible to complete the Dex and get the Shiny Charm. Before it meant you need multiple games and systems (and in some cases games beyond core games) to do, and with over 800+ pokemon that’s uh, damn near impossible.

Also, I’m seeing some complaints about ‘whaaa the rest of the pokemon are behind a paywall’. Pray tell, how is 30$ DLC for more pokemon/regions, any more of a paywall than them making a whole new game containing this stuff, that you’d have to buy? YOU WOULD STILL BE FORKING OUT MONEY. Hell, this DLC is cheaper than if you bought a whole other game.

Plus, they’re really not, while yes the expansion pack is dlc you need to pay for (as expansion packs always are), there IS a free patch you’ll be able to download that’ll allow you to obtain the new pokemon in your game (via trade and stuff). So you can still get them (it’s just that w/o the paid dlc you won’t be able to get to the new places and all that). Without paying. If you think people won’t be breeding and surprise trading stuff once it comes out you’re wrong.

But again, how is this any more of a paywall than dropping money to buy a third core series games like Emerald, or Platinum, or Black 2??? Ya’ll ain’t got a problem with dropping money for a whole new game, this ain’t that much different. Except that it’s *cheaper* and it’s adding on to the game you have.

Really what needs to happen is to let Nintendo and Game Freak go back to being allowed to take a couple years to make the goddamn games-cause it used to be the norm that we had a 3 or more year gap between core game releases, then suddenly it was every year a new game. You want a better game? Stop being fucking impatient and demanding new games every year and let them take a couple years to work on one. I know I’m fine waiting for new games, esp if it means 1) no time crunches 2) gives them the time to make it as good as possible.

When will OL: N&F take place? Beginnings and Always took place during summer breaks, will now and forever take place during a fall break or will the characters be going to school at the time of the events we play through? 

It takes place over all of the fall season, so school will be happening in OL2. Some events do take place in school, though many times events only start after school is already out for the day, haha.

It’s set in the USA again. We’d like to be able to have cameos and that’s easiest to do if the OL games take place in the same country.

Is it possible for the PC of OL to have non-seriously dated other people in the in between years even if they’ve had a consistent crush on Cove? 

You can causally date Baxter in Step 3 if you get his DLC and then ultimately choose Cove in Step 4. If you mean off-screen people, it doesn’t really come up, but you can certainly headcanon that. The game never says Cove is the only partner you’ve ever had.

Is there going to be a Kickstarter for Now and Forever as well? For like voiced names and stuff again? Didn’t find B&A until after it was released and I’d really love the opportunity to hear my name in the game 🥺 

Yeah, we are gonna have a Kickstarter with getting a voiced name as a reward! Though, it will be more expensive than it was for OL1. I feel bad to raise the price but we realized too late the first time around that it was being super undersold for the amount of work it took, aha.

May i ask how the Derek DLC will work? I believe that there aren’t any memories in step 4 and doesnt derek’s dlc take place during that step? So will the dlc add memories? Thank you! 

Derek’s DLC will add five Moments to Step 2 (a new page will appear on that screen if you get the DLC). Then in Step 4 you’ll have to choose between playing the default epilogue or going through the Derek romance story.

Is the pc version on itch,io different from the steam version? Like an offline one or something? 

Steam has achievements, but that’s about it. Both can be played offline, if you prefer.

I've been wondering this for awhile, what determines if cove winds up with a ponytail in step 3? I've done multiple runs with different MCs with varying hairstyles. Or does it have to do with a particular moment in step 2? 

I’m afraid I can’t say exact choices that determine things. But generally it’s preference based options in the Step before that decide those things.

Any Floret Bond updates? 

No, the artist had to leave the project and it’s been on-hold. I’m not sure if I want to try working just with what we have or replacing it all entirely. The design is a bit too specific for us to easily find someone who could mimic it. Hopefully we’ll work things out later, though.

In step 3 is Cove's plan always to stay in sunset bird? 

Yeah. He is never ready at 18-years-old to make a big life change.

Step 4 is only an epilogue, so it’s just a long series of scenes one after the other rather than a collection of Moments you can choose from.

The Step 4 epilogue is free, the wedding DLC, Derek DLC, and Baxter DLC cost money.

i’m not sure how much of the wedding dlc you have planned already, or if this would be to spoilery, but what kind of wedding traditions will be included? i keep thinking about how flustered cove would get over a garter toss & was wondering if we’d see a scene like that haha. obviously no worries if it’s not included, i’ll enjoy literally anything cove related 

I don’t know for sure yet, haha. Right now we’re focused on the parts before the big day. We’ll see how many scene alterations we can include for the wedding itself later on.

Question; is the steam version getting a Mac update?  I purchased the dlc there thinking it had Mac support without realizing it and just wondered if I’d need to refund it to purchase on itch.io 😭 

I’m really sorry, you will need to get a refund from Steam. We do hope to have it there for Steam eventually, but have no idea of when it’ll happen. Apple requires special notarization to be an officially accepted app for their devices. We don’t have that. Steam requires having that, Itch will let you release it as an non-notarized third party app. That’s why Itch is the only place that has the Mac version right now.

would you mind posting outfit sheets for Cove in every step? it would make things a lot easier for us artists. it would save a lot of time spent looking for references 

I think we did do the earlier steps when they were finished way back in 2019 (this game took a long time to make, aha), but we can probably repost them sometime!

In our life n&f, will we be able to get into qprs/will there be more options in regards to having deep platonic relationships with the love interests? Because as an aroace individual, it would be great if there could also be emphasis on platonic love so that it's more aspec inclusive. 

It’s a little hard to say at this point. There may not be things like a wedding DLC for OL2 and so the relationship for platonic and romantic feelings might not go as far as it did in the first game. We’ll kind of have to see how much we can do based on timeframe/budget constraints that will only be set near the end of the year. But we will be keeping things like that in mind at least.

Cove’s favorite flavors are ones with nuts and that are fruity! But he appreciates them all. Whether or not you can give him a piggyback ride depends on if your MC is fit/large enough to hold a muscular 6-foot-tall beach boy, haha.

Cove’s appearance does depend on choices and it’s generally tied to choices that are preference based rather than emotion/action based, such as which key chain you pick in Step 1.

Is it possible for cove to reject MC's proposal at the end of step 3? 

Nope. He’ll always accept.

hi! i was wondering how heavily the side characters will be featured in the our life wedding dlc? obviously it'll be cove & mc focused, but i was thinking it'd be sweet if we could take lizzie dress / suit shopping or dance with cliff at the wedding or something. 

The side characters are there about as often as they are in normal events. So, it’s clearly focused on Cove but he’s not the only person you have any meaningful moments with.

When will responses be sent out to applicants? 

I’m afraid we don’t send responses out to all applications, only ones we’re interested in offering the position to. Not everyone likes rejection emails and the amount of applications is too high to contact them all to say we’re not hiring them. We post updates on the job page when a position has news. Right now we’ve filled every role that was open.

I was wondering, in the Step 3 Happiness moment, what are the different fishes Cove can compare MC to? I got "you'd be a paradise fish, because being with you is paradise," but my friend got "you'd be an angelfish." Are there more variations? 

He says paradise fish if you’re a couple, angelfish if he’s just crushing, and then a royal dottyback/queenfish/emperor tetra (based on your gender) if he likes the MC platonicly.

Hello! So, in one of the Step 3 DLCs, Cove's arm was gone. I think it was to show him putting his arm behind his back. But if that wasn't the case, did it get yeeted? 

Thanks for letting us know. That was an error we tried to fix a little while back. When did you make the save file you were playing? If it was older that might be why it happened. Or maybe the error wasn’t fully fixed after all.

Asking for your opinion, but do you think Cove would at all be into ABBA? Because all I could imagine during the car trip in step 3 was him and the MC belting to Mamma Mia. 

Haha, yeah, there’d definitely be some ABBA songs he was into.

So throughout the game, Cove can develop different interests depending on the player’s choices; does this mean that he can have different careers in Step 4? Or his is line of work in adulthood never mentioned at all?

It’s just a bonus side story that’s fully separate from the main game.

It would be nice to have one for Step 4 too, but I sadly don’t see us having time to actually do it. I don’t know, if people are still asking for more OL1 content several months from now it might be doable and worth doing.

ngl Step 4 Terry's design reads like y'all see trans guys as their assigned gender more than you see them as men to me (a trans guy)... like maybe if he isn't heavily dysphoric, I could see it, but everything you've said about him doesn't line up with that. Even then, immediate warning bells go off in my head looking at him. I wouldn't have touched the game if I saw him ahead of time.

I’m sorry you aren’t comfortable with the way the design looks. The situation with Terry is that he’s now open about who he is, but the body he was born with is still physically the same. He only came out recently as an adult and hasn’t gone through any treatments/procedures yet (his chest is flatter because he wears a binder). However, even though his body hasn’t transitioned at the point Step 4 happens, no one treats him as anything other than the guy he is. Having a trans character who’s identity is supported/respected from the start is what we’re going for in this case. But what we’re doing with Terry isn’t the only trans content we’ve ever had/ever will have in the future.

I imagine it’d be pretty opposite experiences, haha. Bae would initially think Baxter is pushy and thoughtless, but would quickly realize, oh, he’s instead a soft, considerate boy. Very cute. Baxter would first be struck with the impression that Bae is charming and gentlemanly, but then would realize that, no, he’s a sarcastic asshole. And I’m afraid we can’t reveal the personalities for the next game yet.

Debuff Zane Build

i am tired of not seeing this build in all the zane build videos i watch so im sharing it here because its stupid fun bc u run fast and kill faster. it’s not meta, but its fun as fuck and u have a lot of damage and survivability with it. I’ve completed M4 Slaughter Shaft with it- haven’t tried on M10 yet but i have faith. p.s its 4 am pls have mercy if there’s spelling mistakes.

what ur gonna need is a band of sitorak, zheitseiv’s eruption, a seein’ dead, and the piss grenade. everything else is fair game, whatever u want. try to get it to have the sntl cryo anoint bc good. but u must have the 4 main items for this to work perfectly (it also somewhat works with a low level Frozen Heart bc best shield in the game but you will die a lot more)

also i need a fucking name for this build help

this is my current loadout

sometimes i switch the reg Q-System for a kaoson or a nighthawkin if i need ammo (OP QSystem is... OP but not as fun as a tracking grenade QSystem so i don’t care for it) and maybe the brainstormer for a reflux if many shielded enemies (i prefer the brainstormer over the reflux atm. so try for a brainstormer!!)

3rd slot, that’s a monarch which used to be a dictator b4 it got a straight upgrade. I actually don’t use the bipod unless im in a boss fight and don’t need to move fast. usually violent momentum and violent violence cover the dps loss

ur first 3 gun slots honestly don’t matter much. I have my reasons for using them, but you can use whatever u want i think, so long as its a strong weapon (bc unfortunately a lot of weapons are not scaled for m10). u dont HAVE to use the monarch or the Q system or the brainstormer. I recommend them, cuz theyre fun, but u don’t gotta if u wanna swap em out for a a kaoson or a yellowcake or a sandhawk or smth

the last gun is my zheitsev’s eruption. This bad boy, when u reload, shoots out homing balls of debuffery. So every enemy that gets hit with these gets a debuff. I have tried this with the needler but I prefer Zheitsev’s bc it can hit more enemies and once and takes less time. this gun only goes to Blane (ur clone). 

for the skill trees we have no points in under cover even tho brainfreeze is the best skill in the gaaaaame

explanations: 

really the hitman tree is p self explanatory, u wanna go fast as fuck boiii. My band of sitorak does not have the +15 movespeed while zoomer is active anoint (it has the break shield amp anoint, which is p okay. want movespeed, but a nice human from the reddit gave me this sitorak so i didn’t have to farm). u want drone delivery bc Blane will NOT be throwing grenades. If you try to make him throw grenades with the seein’ dead he will ONLY throw grenades and never fire his gun, meaning he’ll never reload. it’s a nightmare. anyway. u want the piss grenade (ideally with the +25% damage on thrown anoint). im not looking forward to regrinding this when they finally mayhem buff grenades.

we put one point into playing dirty because we want those extra shots and honestly with the amount of times seein’ dead can proc ur kill skills you’ll have it more often than not

we also have points in good misfortune for that sweet sweet uptime (which btw can be infinite using the brainstormer/reflux bc it is essentially a redistributor without the need for ur barrier) the monarch/dictator also does it justice

for Blane u DON’T WANT praemuntis. we want blane reloading as often as gotdamn possible. now unfortunately my seein’ dead gave me a +weapon mag size roll (im actually not sure if this affects blane, but im assuming it does) but it does have the amazing +5 donnybrook so I’m taking it anyway. I am so not looking forward to regrinding a good class mod when they finally release action skill buffs for them. i cri. i actually hear 3 points in donnybrook and 2 in violent violence is p good (or 1 in violent violence 1 in playin dirty) so maybe grinding won’t be so bad. maybe i’ll finally get a +weapon damage roll

u can grab 1 point in ducttape mod and put 4 points into borrowed time if you want. it doesn’t really matter. i current have 5 in borrowed time and 3 in pocket full of grenades (for some reason??? usually i only put 2 in.). U can do that and use those extra points for either ducttape mod or more points in playing dirty. 

u NEED quick breather. This skill has a STUPID interaction with the band of sitorak shield because of how quickly it recharges. I’m talking, the instant you swap with Blane, you have full shields and so does he. It’s dumb, I love it. Use it to get out of trouble.

so im probably gonna need to explain why i have 3 points in trick of the light: im a cryo slut. That’s it. put those wherever you want, just make sure you can get Double Barrel. i’ve seen builds where people actually go for brainfreeze, i might try that next time i respec.

Double barrel will make it so blane can use the zheitsev’s eruption and debuff your enemies for you. it’s worth it.

so the augments u want are these:

SCHADENFREUDE. because band of sitorak has such a tiny capacity, ur shield is constantly up. If its not, it’s constantly breaking from full capacity. this does have a fun effect with the amp shield break anoint, but mainly i like it for the 25% damage buff whenever it breaks. its a tradeoff for damage, ur constantly swapping between max shields and more damage, so its actually p constant survivability and damage over the long run.

i grab doppelbanger bc blane sometimes gets stuck in the floor and/or i don’t feel like running all the way back. i wouldn’t recommend getting which one’s real or digital distribution only bc u want him alive as much as possible. u can also get binary system instead of doppelbanger, its up to you

for Zoomer u want bad dose for the movement speed and (sometimes) static field (only if the enemies have shields). this is so if blane goes down or he isn’t taking damage, zoomer can refill ur shields. if the enemies won’t have shields usually i grab winter’s drone or boomsday depending on how i feel.

im actually gonna try to see if i can’t grab brain freeze. hang on. i know trick of the light is frowned upon for most people so lemme just respec. (im sorry i just love the vibes it gives me it’s like HAHA you thought that was me? no!!! boop. and then they’re ice sculptures and man i love h2o i wish emma had frozen more people the only people she really freezes are Greg and Miriam and honestly she doesn’t even kill Greg smh. (Greg is dr denman’s assistant. greg is highkey god.) I do like what she did to Mirami, the fucking implications that YES these teenage girls ARE powerful enough to instakill people, they just don’t out of the kindness of their hearts. Rikki was badass that episode too. actually i love the episode where rikki almost boils a dude alive for making a fool of her with ILLEGAL F I S H and burns people using steam from a pipe. rikki is my favorite mermaid- she knew what was u p. I wish mako mermaids was as badass as h2o was. and the cartoon. god imagine the cartoon violence. sigh. let them use their op superpowers to be SUPERHEROES. like in h2o au i have baron flynt puppeteer people to their deaths from Thor bc he has cleo’s powers like why couldn’t she do that to someone. so i think im gonna have to live with the slower reload speed (sob) but yes u can in fact get brain freeze with this build. lemme show...

so ye in the event u just can’t live without freezing people (i know the feeling) feel free to do this. imma play with this for a bit and see if i can live with slower reload. I actually depend on the 100% cryo with zoomer active for all my cryo damage. i also use an ice breaker so they freeze fairly easy (but only on mobs. on bosses u want the snowdrift or something else)

this build isn’t really meta and u might have trouble doing a solo run of true takedown on m10... bc its true takedown on m10, but honestly it’s fun as F U C K. you CAN do it, but it’s not no thoughts head empty like barrier-redistrubutor/yellowcake zane can be so u gotta be on TOP of ur SHIT. i love it. running around killing stuff. it’s fun. i also love teleporting. it’s my FAVORITE THING. I STILL GET GIDDY OVER IT BECAUSE IT’S SO FUN. ask my friends, they will tell you, sometimes i’ll just start gushing over how much fun it is to teleport even though i’ve played zane since release. just. GFDGHKJGDFK so much fun. i just... b o o p. god i love this game. i took a break to play assassin’s creed odyssey (fun sneaky beaky game, pretty awful dialogue) so DAMN i missed this.

An Eye For An Eye

It was raining in Garreg Mach. Not an uncommon occurrence but today it was pouring particularly hard. And Dimitri was sitting out in it. Alone.

There were many things on his mind today. The tragedy of Duscur, the betrayal of Edelgard, the war ravaging Fodlan... but a new phantom had started to haunt his head.

It was a voice. A voice that was low and deep and almost like it was always on the verge of laughing.

At him.

It taunted him.

"You... How dare... GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" he screamed into the rain to no one.

"Dude, chill."

Dimitri froze, There, coming from behind him, was the source of the voice, in the flesh, instead of just his head.

:"You... I... I'll..."

He whirled around,

:"I'LL FEED YOUR GUTS TO THE VULTUR-"

He stopped. Standing before him was a short, squat skeleton, in a blue jacket and slippers.

"Joke's on you, I have no guts."

Dimitri stared, as hard as he possibly could with only one eye.

"What... What are you?"

"A skeleton."

"N-no that's obvious but - who are you then?"

"I'm Sans. I've got a bit of a funny bone."

"Strange creature, why do you speak in riddles and puns?"

"It's my brand. Also you look like you could use some humor in your life."

The rain started letting up. Dimitri paused.

"I... I guess I could."

"Don't suppose you've got a Grillby's around here? You know, for like, food?:

"No, but... we have tea?"

Sans sighed. "It'll do."

The two were sitting together around a small tea table, with pastries and a pot of tea in the middle. Dimitri gingerly sipped his tea, rocking back and forth in his seat slightly. Sans just kind of... Poked at his cup of tea.

"So," said Dimitri. "Where are you from? I doubt it's Fodlan."

"I'm from the Underground."

"You mean like... the sewers? And I thought the sewer people were a myth."

"No, like... we're monsters, we live under a mountain, there was a barrier, but this nice human set us free. At least in one-"

He grew silent.

"One what?" said Dimitri.

Sans gave a very fake yawn. "I'm too tired to explain."

"...If you say so. Well the Kingdom Of Faregus will welcome you."

"This is like, medieval fantasy land, right?" said Sans. "I'll be fine."

It was then Ashe approached.

"Dimitri! Hello! I've been looking all over for you!"

Dimitri turned to Ashe (not literally).

"Hello, Ashe. Have you met Sans Undertale here?"

Ashe looked over to where Sans was sitting, but could only see an empty chair.

"Uh...  Sorry Dimitri, I don't see anyone..."

"...Whar? What?! Sans is right there, you're looking right at hin!"

Sans just awkwardly waved at Ashe.

"Er, did... something... hit you... on the head?" Ashe said, slowly backing off.

"No... It can't be... He's there, I'm telling the truth!" said Dimitri

"I'll... I'lll go get Marianne!" said Ashe, running off.

"Er, bro, you might wanna chill," said Sans.

"No...I'll show them you're real! I'll show them all!"

He picked up Sans - who yelped - and carried him off.

Dimitri ran around, shoving Sans into people's faces. Most just backed or ran away, or laughed only to stop when Dimitri gave them a menacing glare.

Finally Dimitri stumbled over to Byleth.

"Can you see him? You probably can't, I'm probably wasting my ti-

Byleth's eyes widened and he gave Sans a quick tap on the forehead.

"That tickles," said Sans.

"Professor... You... You can see him?"

Byleth nodded.

"Excellent! You can explain to the others what's going on."

Byleth tilted his head.

"Actually... Sans, what did bring you here?"

"I was bored," said Sans. "Plus you seem like you could use the help?"

The eyebrow over Dimitri's good eye raised. "Help with what?"

It was then Ashe came over with Marianne. "There he is!" Ashe said.

"Please, hold still while I heal your head injury!" said Marianne. "You will feel a few moments of excruciating pain, but that's normal for this spell and you'll be all better right after!"

"Wait, what? I don't need this!" said Dimitri.

Byleth waved his hands in a "woah, slow down" gesture.

"Relax, he knows me from Smash," said Sans.

Byleth gave a "kind of" gesture.

"Wait..." said Marianne. "Byleth, do you see it too?"

Byleth nodded vigorously. Marianne paused.

"...Oh goodness, you must ALSO have a head injury!" she said. "Hold still while I-"

And just like that Byleth, Dimitri, and Sans were gone.

The three were now in the sewers. Water dripped around them and there were unsightly lumps Dimitri avoided touching.

Byleth tapped his forehead.

"He says he has connections down here." said Sans.

"...Oh. Right. Yuri and his friends. Anyway, Sans, what did you say you were here for?"

"I wanted to talk. About your sis."

Dimitri scowled. "What of her?"

"You two need to talk."

"No. Disgusting. I refuse."

"Listen, me and my bro butt heads too and like, it doesn't start wars but I see myself in you. And I've seen timelines back home where things could get bad. Real bad. And I don't want your timeline to end up like those."

Byleth nodded.

"Byleth here reminds me of this kid I know. Went through a lot of paths in their timelines. A lot of them were real bad. But they eventually settled on a good one. I know Byleth is trying to do... somewhat like that."

Byleth nodded again.

Sans yawned. "Man being altruistic is exhausting. But really, talk to her."

"Suggest that again and I'll grind those bones of yours into powder."

"Rude."

Byleth struck a thinking pose, then bent down and signed something to Sans. Sans nodded and turned to Dimitri again.

"Would you do it for some tasty weeds?"

Dimitri's eyebrow arched over his good eye again. "Not even for that."

"What if I had a killer supply of weeds. The tastiest weeds I could ever stuff down your gullet. An infinite smorgaspoard."

"Tempting but still no."

Sans leaned forward. "I have the weed."

"...Fine. Fine, I will talk to her. But I cannot guarantee it will end well for either of us."

"Great!" said Sans. "But... How do we get there? I never bothered to bring a map." "You imbecile!" said Dimitri. "You're the one who proposed-"

The two noticed Byleth beckoning them further down the sewer tunnel.

"Let's follow him!" Sans said.

And so they did.

The three emerged from a sewer grate right outside of a castle.

"Impossible... This is Enbarr, capital of the Adrestian Empire!" said Dimitri.

Byleth nodded and smirked.

"Well we just need to get inside then," said Sans.

"We need disguises," said Dimitri.

The three were now wearing baggy brown cloaks.

"Perfect!" said Dimitri.

The three walked up to some guards.

"Excuse me we're-" Dimitri started to say.

"Hot dog salesmen," said Sans.

"What?" said Dimitri. "That's ridiculou-"

Byleth nudged him and he sighed. "Hot dog salesmen."

"What are these... Hot dogs?" said one of the guards.

Sans produced a platter of hot dogs that Byleth passed to the guards, and the guards passed around and tasted, their faces lighting up in delight.

"These are wonderful!" said one.

"We're delivering them to the Emperor," said Dimitri, suddenly getting an idea. "They could potentially solve world hunger."

"Of course! Usher them in straight away!"

And the group was indeed ushered in.

The three walked inside, through the winding corridors, all the way up to the throne room.

There, on the throne, was Edelgard, Hubert by her side as always. Dimitri whipped his cloak off.

"YOU!"

"YOU!" Edelgard said right back.

"Stand by, Edelgard, I will dispose of him sho-"

"Woah, woah, woah, hold on!" said Sans, removing his cloak and waving his hands. Byleth sighed and removed his as well.

"The old professor too? What is the meaning of this?" said Edelgard.

Dimitri sighed. "The skeleton you can't see wants us to talk."

"....Talk about what?"

"Our issues, apparently."

Byleth nodded.

"But... Why? After everything?"

Sans whispered into Dimitri's ear, leading Dimitri to reply.

"Because our sibling feud is hurting a lot more than just us."

Edelgard thought a second. Hubet twiddled his fingers in annoyance.

"...Fine. Let's talk." said Edelgard. "But it's not going to end well."

The meeting for a peace treaty between Faergus and Adrestia was a rousing success. Reform spread through both nations. Peace was on the way to Fodlan.

During a festival celebrating the alliance, as a crowd outside the castle rejoiced, Edelgard and Dimitri approached Sans and Byleth.

"I just wanted to say... Thank you for helping make this possible professor!" said Dimitri.

"He had a little help," said Dimitri, winking at Sans in a way that looked like blinking because of the eyepatch. Sans winked back.

The two royal siblings left, and then Sans turned to Byleth.

"You saw them too huh? All those icky bad end timelines."

Byleth nodded gravely.

"Yeah, like, I know the feeling," said Sans. "I've been there. But a certain kid a lot like you... the one who made the good decisions anyway... they taught me to care just a little."

Byleth gave Sans a pat. Sans smiled.

"Well, you owe me one for help untangling those! Say hi to the guys in Smash for me."

Byleth, uncharacteristically, grinned as they gave a thumbs up.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT SANS!" said Papyrus, shaking his controller with glee. "THEY ADDED A HAPPY ENDING! IT'S WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED FOR THIS GAME!"

Sans, laying next to him on the couch, groaned. "Pipe down, will you?"

"WELL EXCUSE ME FOR HYPING RESPONSIBLY!" said Papyrus. He put a hand to his chin. "THOUGH... I NEVER LEARNED ABOUT THIS NEW DLC ROUTE BEFORE... AND I THOUGHT THE DLC WAS DONE AFTER ASHEN WOLVES... AND I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM ALPHYS AND UNDYNE ABOUT IT EVEN THOUGH THEY RECOMMENDED ME THIS GAME."

Sans shrugged with a smirk. "It's not like I did it."

"OF COURSE YOU DIDN'T," said Papyrus. "LAZYBONES."

aight bet dmc5 story thoughts

for all yall that wanted to know

obvious spoilers under cut lol

the shit i was most worried about was V’s backstory, specifically that the explanation they’d give for him being vergils human half would be forced. but in actuality it turned out really cool, i think it was explained well and had cool context

actually showing us the specific actions vergil did really made it work i think. showing him shamble to his old home, and impale himself with yamato only to just have V naked pop out + vergil going sicko mode and turning into urizen was really cool to see

plus, V is less like vergils human side, more so his good aspects. his ambition, his guilt, his souls desire to prevent others from getting involved, all of that. and urizen was just like vergils power gluttony and such given full rise

and it actually gives this cool lore detail to the yamato being able to separate man and devil, which retroactively gives nice lore to rebellion too and finally makes that sword more than just “hehe big hit stick”. cause dante thinks about why sparda gave him rebellion out of everything, and eventually realizes that if yamato severs and vergil impaled himself to sever his human and demon sides, rebellion should do the inverse. and so he pulls out his hilt of rebellion and just fucking impales himself. rebellion’s hilt combines with sparda, and we get the demon sword dante + majin form

besides V being vergil there wasnt much left i was worried about. and as a whole the game had a good story with nice highlights. still wacky over the top fun action, but with a couple more loftier storytelling scenes. whether it was V explaining to trish his backstory, V speaking to nero about the story of dante and vergil as dante is impaling urizen, dante driving rebellion into himself, and all that + more. was hype as fuck to see unfold

and hell even a couple emotional moments too. nero’s DT scene being a particular highlight, as it really lets his character breathe and come to life. he namedrops credo and talks about how he felt useless and refuses to forgive himself for his death, only to scream “I WONT LET YOU DIE” to both dante and vergil and going DT

which is perfect characterization for him + calls back to when dante calls him dead weight in the prologue. nero dwelled on that so much, because its actively what he’s been trying so hard to never be again

when he saw credo die, he felt like a dead weight. a useless nothing who let his brother figure + closest friend perish without anything. and he vowed to himself there that he’d never let anything like that happen again. the buildup of legacy as nero began walking also really let the emotion soak in

one of the most fascinating things regarding dmc5 is the lore behind V’s summons and what happens to em after V and uri join and make vergil. as it turns out, griffon shadow and nightmare were essentially just vergils nightmares and night terrors he had as nelo angelo made manifest into living creatures (griffon as he’s speaking to dante literally namedrops nelo angelo it was a really cool moment). hence why all 3 are enemies found on mallet island. they really add some angst to vergil, showing that as he was being tortured and experimented with by mundus he suffered and had so many nightmares over them that they literally manifested themselves into the dmc1 creatures

also griffons last words to dante were really fucking sad lmao. “we were just vergils nightmares. and this is our last battle. godspeed dante, you’ll need it” like shit dude yall making me sad for the death of a demon birb

really the only thing that disappointed me was that neither trish nor lady really have a central role here. like they’re cool and i love their designs and there are some cool interactions between V and trish in a few moments, but as a whole they don’t really do much. what they do is just like shown off screen or through dialogue. and i understand it aint really their story to be told and nico’s more the main heroine of the game than them, but its still kinda disappointing. hoping that there’s a dlc focused on them and such, that’d be cool

besides that small gripe i really enjoyed seeing how the story unfolded. was really cool to go from knowing like fucking nothing to piecing together the pieces and little bits of story till everything became truly clear. and it was cool how many things they pulled from the other dmc stuff into this. mentioning mundus, nell, a bit of dmc2, its cool. def a satisfying story to me, i did not predict it being like this, but im ok with it regardless

very excited to see where they go from here, the ending feels less like a conclusion and more like a new page starting up. hearing nero answer his phone with “devil may cry” really cemented that feeling for me

also as a side note the end credits scene with dante and vergil duking it out in hell is like almost self aware to how fucking ridiculous it actually is lmao. like the 2 are keeping score of their battles and dante wins a clash and says “yes, im 1 above!” and vergil responds with “where’d you learn to count, we’re even.” like the game is 100% acknowledging how ridiculous and like nearly childish their sibling rivalry is lol. even as like 41 year old men they’re still like this

dante even comments on it like “y’know, is this ever even going to end?” or something like that

i’m so excited oh my GOD... i thought the hornet stuff was gonna be DLC (i guess it originally was gonna be) but im so hyped for an entire new game. hollow knight was such an incredible experience, i can’t wait for round 2

YA GIRL JUST FINISHED THE OCTO EXPANSION AND I AM SO S H O O K

First off, I want to appreciate the cutscenes??? They were so good and they looked amazing, I was so so happy we actually got to see Pearl and Marina interacting with everyone and with each other that’s all I could have wanted. This whole expansion is just pearlina confirmed nobody can convince me otherwise lmao. The end scene where Marina tackle hugs Pearl and Agent 8 smiles at Agent 3 after they wake up is the reason I am alive, this whole thing is paradise for shippers (Even though the females are what I play as and what I head canon the agents to be I’ll use neutral pronouns for my male cephalopod friends out there)

THAT LEADS ME INTO MY NEXT TOPIC, we finally have backstories on off the hook! Like a lot of backstory on Marina specifically, from age six to sixteen, I love that they made her Japanese in game name her last name in the English version (does that mean Pearl’s last name is Hime?? @ Nintendo where’s my pearl backstory) and that she accomplished so many things like she was an e l i t e octoling but then the Squid Sisters perform and bam time to go AWOL. Also that amazing demo of Ebb and Flow is absolutely heavenly. A lot of theories I had were completely true like I’m pretty sure everyone knew about calamari inkantation setting the octolings free but hey now it’s actually what happened. I love Cap’n Cuttlefish and his ongoing joke of “Any fan of the inkantation is no foe of mine” he just loves his grandsquids so much he’s such a proud grandpa that their music is literally changing peoples lives.

This also clears up a lot of stuff about nobody caring that Marina is an octoling just chilling in Inkopolis, because the octo expansion is set during the time of the single player campaign of splatoon 2 so like the octolings are all finding their way up to the surface right as Off the Hook is becoming popular. Makes sense, smart move.

The chat logs were probably my favorite things in the game, and I did complete every level so I got the special bonus chat with Agent 2, which made me smile a lot. I love the pictures that Pearl and Marina sent in the chat!! Pearl always looks like a badass because she is one, and Marina and her adorable sleepy face I actually screamed a little when I saw them? The group selfie with all the idols was really cute too (speaking of selfies I LOVE THAT EIGHT TAKES A SELFIE WHEN THEY GET ONE OF THE THANGS WHY CANT I SEE THOSE SELFIES PLEASE). The mem cakes were really nice to collect and getting the full sets then talking to Iso Padre made my heart hurt a little bit, he would always talk about following your dreams and never to loose sight of them and I love him so much he’s the purest I wish we could take him up to the surface too??

Okay but like the battle with Agent 3 was suuuper trippy for me, since I’m a veteran of this game... I was fighting myself? How many identities do I have now? Im like three different agents all at once how does this happen. But I did love that battle, it was a bit surprising but I had seen people theorizing about it so it wasn’t too much of a shock. However, the phone being the final final boss was interesting, I kinda thought it was going to be C.Q because he was annoying as fuck through the whole time you were playing, seeing his text box say “You failed the test” was as frustrating as seeing Mr. Grizz’s textbox saying “Just 93 eggs? That’s a shame.” The cutscene when Three broke in to save Eight and Cap was beautiful and I loved it, perfection.

If you’ve played the octo expansion what did you think? Also how many of you guys are staying inkling? I personally am going octoling, I love the design so much and I love the wave that you get from Marina and Pearl when you’re an octoling! It’s so sassy and personal like I feel more like a friend to them than just a fan :,) This expansion is everything I could have wanted and more, it’s exactly what Splatoon 2 needed to step up its game from feeling too much like the first one.

An unpopular opinion i have:

that sequels shouldnt be made. Not like trilogy or series stuff where they have an underlying theme that never gets resolved until the final chapter of the last book. (Think lord of the rings, or Harry potter or Mass Effect). But like movies, or books that resolve all plot points by the end of the book/movie and the sequel will only fall flat.

Now that also goes for video games. A good example of which is Dishonored. The first one was awesome, and though through the DLC we see the setup for Dishonored two. The base game came to a conclusion that was satisfying and closed all plot points.

Then we got Dishonored 2. Still good imo. However, i found that the story wasnt as engaging and i spent less time playing for the story, focusing more on finishing it. I was super hyped before it was released and was let down that it fell flat for me.

I feel like when we have amazing firsts, (The Last of Us, TWDG, Dishonored, Days gone, Prototype, Horizon Zero Dawn, Dragon Age) it puts too much expectations on the sequels to be just as amazing, fresh, and spellbinding as the originals. Which, when coming back to a world we are no longer seeing for the first time, just isnt realistic.

Though that doesnt mean it can't be well done. Looking back at Dishonored 2, by introducing the choice of playing as Corvo Attano, or Emily Caldwin, it gave us the chance to see the story from a completely new and different perspective.

In TWDG sequels, we've seen the story from varying perspectives. (Lee, Clem, Javier, And AJ.) Each of which changes the story just a bit, even though we are following the same person (Clem) as they grow up.

Sequels can be good, and even better than their predecessors. (IMO: Think Mass effect 2 combat system compared to Mass Effect 1) however the amount of times that I've seen/watched/played a sequel only to be disappointed by the outcome.... or to have a slapped together sequel only be made so that the developers can get money..... (slight side eye to the AC franchise.... major shade to a few others *cough* Call of Duty *cough*) its kind of destroyed the concept of a sequel for me.

alright peeps so i dont use tumblr for anything except shitposting into the void so i dont know how many discussions are out on this site about the silksong trailer and i know im late to the party but like fashionably late thats my thing now get with it

in case anyone wasnt aware and im somehow the first source of information for them hollow knight was a hit game by team cherry and recently came out with the trailer for their sequel game silksong wherein you play as hornet who is a character present throughout the events of the first game

as usual all spoilers will be put under the readmore which i will put up now just to make sure nobody wants to shoot me with a glock for flooding their feed looking at you lads

so initial reaction to the trailer already has me hyped to high hell i mean like the first game is clearly enough of a success for them to release three dlcs and then a new game yknow the results speak for themselves team cherry has done it again

obviously a sad departure from the knight themself but the combat looks to have a lot more depth to it other than the classic dash and slash

not like there was anything wrong with it obviously i love hollow knights gameplay to death but the way hornet moves and her kit looks absolutely incredible

also the soundtrack kicks the atmosphere up to eleven again a huge credit to the cherries i love that shit it gets me so pumped

now as i was writing up the original post i realized i had quite possibly fallen into team cherrys trap of assuming that because the game follows another it is therefore a sequel because as far as i can tell there is no actual concrete visual evidence to betray the fact that the game takes place after the events of hollow knight which i will now dub vanilla knight

i think that the cherries might be trying to pull a fast one on us by proclaiming all of this stuff as new when in actuality it might be a ploy to distract from the fact that it takes place as a prequel chronologically speaking

i think the theory is supported by the intro where hornet is being escorted in either a good way or bad way probably a bad way by some weird buggos and she ends up breaking the f out

it doesnt seem like hollownest either has the manpower and or leadership and or desire at this point to lock up hornet what would they do arrest her for war crimes

additionally upon watching my friend play through the beginning the kings pass has a message proclaiming hollownest as the last great kingdom which says that this quote unquote new kingdom that hornet is gonna explore is either something that pops up after the sign or something that is destroyed before they put that damn thing up

now the weird thing is that near the end of the trailer hornet might be going super saiyan in front of a mask resembling herrah or else one of those deepnest silk weaver fuckers i cant remember the name its almost midnight where i am and im tired

now i could debate past or future all i want but in reality all we need to accept is that this is almost certainly gonna be a dope ass game and i cant wait and neither should you the combat looks sick the music looks baller the story is no doubt gonna be incredible

weve got new friends new enemies new secrets everyone is here its the most ambitious crossover of all of bugkind dont even fuckin at me vanilla knight

I try to upload every night, but sometimes my schedule makes that impossible for me. For example, working on a long piece right now that I might not have up till tomorrow (this is a sad one, my friends).

As for rules, yeah, I do have some! They’re right here (or, if that link isn’t working for you, I’ll copy and paste under the cut). 

Some basic stuff:

Usually I’ll include all base-game companions in reaction requests. Due to popular request, I also now include Gage. An exception is if the ask relates to romance; I will then remove Strong, Dogmeat, and Codsworth from the running. If specifically asked in the request, I can put Strong and synth!Codsworth back in there, but definitely not Dogmeat.

I can add DLC companions, along with non-companion characters, to any ask received if requested. However, given that I may not know the characters as well, it might take longer for me to answer that ask.

Some stuff I’d rather not write about includes bestiality, miscarriages, and cheating in a monogamous relationship. Severe gender dysphoria is also difficult for me to write about, as I suffer from it myself. This list may be added to as time goes on.

There is a lot of media I haven’t watched. If your request involves a crossover that would require me to do extensive research into a franchise I have not seen (anything google-able is fine), then I may not be able to answer it.

While I can write about either Sole or the companions experiencing discrimination, I’d appreciate no messages idealizing or promoting the messages of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. (Basically, don’t call me slurs in my ask box and we’ll be fine.)

Sole will be written using gender neutral (i.e. they/them) pronouns. You can specify another preferred pronoun or gender in your ask, and I’ll work with it, but otherwise I’m assuming gender neutrality.

Trigger warnings for common triggers will be used liberally. If I miss one or you’d like me to add your trigger to my tags, just ask- I will happily comply.

How many characters can I request?

For reactions, as many of the base-game companions as you wish. Please limit it to 4ish additional characters though, if adding beyond that. For one-shots, considering that it’s pretty much equivalent to a standalone short story, I’d appreciate a limit of two or three.

Do you accept NSFW requests?

Eh, yeah, I’ll take ‘em. I mean, I might not be great at writing NSFW (haven’t tried it much before), so keep that in mind when assessing the quality, but go ahead. I will, of course, tag every NSFW post as such.

How many asks can I send in at one time?
