I just went through two of my sketchbooks from 2020-2022 and seeing how differently i used to draw myself then through now is such a treat
I used to just draw a sad lil guy or a dude with a straight face, only ever drawing myself happy as a silly little clown. Then i started taking t and my lil portraits changed so so much :))))
Theres also a big ol change in the people and style i drew them in like :3333

I feel like it's the little things about the AAI2 official translation that's going to get me more than the character names
Like the PIC now being the Committee for Prosecutorial Excellence or Logic Chess becoming Mind Chess and 'Wait and See' becoming 'Bide my time'
Its bc I know the character names are changing but I havent thought about all these little things that are going to change too

Tangentially related to some of the discussion i posted earlier but quiet literally the first RW Art Month i participated I did it completely on whim like, one day before it started. And I mostly did it because I hadn't drawn a ton of rain world and wanted to draw more. Fandom presence was a lot smaller than and I was one of a handful of artists who did the entire thing. Fast forward and I still do Art Month and I've gotten to work with VC directly.
But it was quite literally something I decided to do completely on whim that set the ball rolling, and for something a lil more niche and certainly with a lot more dev/fandom art involvement than most. It's really random how and why you might get noticed more than usual, especially with the "toss it into the search and hope it pays out' mechanism of Socmed

went to a drawing jam tonight! it was a really fun even where people bring their art supplies and sketchbooks, and there are prompts to follow (if you want to), but it's mainly for meeting people and having fun, and it really was a blast! i was feeling super burnt out so these kind of quick doodles were really good to get that creativity flowing, and ofc chatting with fellow artists and exchanging sketchbooks to browse was really lovely!
here's one of the little doodles i made, with the prompt 'something that represents the cold or the wind in the city' (the theme was winter, obviously), which is me with much longer hair and kinda looking like a female kim kitsuragi lmao

what's crazy to me is multiple times i've received encouragement to start drawing again, even when i mention that the only reason i've considered drawing again is as a desperate ploy for attention
but whenever i talk about my writing i either get ignored or told to "write for yourself"
like just tell me you don't value writing as an art form. it'll be easier than having to dance through whatever the fuck this is
