as expected, here’s this year’s top 10 for how much i personally enjoyed the anime i’ve watched this year. ive watched more than this, but god i watched so many bad ones…. even number 10 sucks but everything else was worse. sad!

9. my daughter left the nest and returned as an s-rank adventurer (2023)

i have to admit this show charmed me. its not the best thing ive ever seen but its nice. comfy. yknow? i haven't finished it but it's enjoyable. can't rank it higher until i finish it

8. sabikui bisco (2022)

if it werent for the positively nonsensical jump in the middle of the show and the way theres just like. a lot of gaps? it’d rank higher. it’s a very cool premise for a show and i like the bisco/milo dynamic, and [SISTER] is fun as hell. it didnt wow me though overall, and while i enjoyed it i was hoping for more.

7. trigun stampede (2023)

im sorry trigun stans i simply didnt love it. i see the appeal i really do but it just didnt hook me. i really liked the animation and the storyline. im intrigued by whatever the fuck is going on with those plants and yall have said theres a tallgirl in the next season? so i’ll keep watching. i just didnt love it

6. that time i got reincarnated as a slime (2019-2021)

in contrast to #7, i can see why this show is weak HOWEVER i just enjoyed it. i like it. huge fan of how much gender the protag has. i love how they get new powers. i enjoy that it can be interpreted as an extremely bisexual show. it was well paced and the slime diaries OVA was a great addition. a lot of the characters really stuck with me too and its like. idk. one of my favourite isekais i guess

5. buddy daddies (2023)

this should rank higher. its so fun. its SO fun. its silly and it doesnt take itself seriously. i laughed in every episode. the dynamic between the guys is great. the dynamics between them and the kid is great. just a really solid show if you can stand the queerbaiting. i dont even care

4. bocchi the rock! (2022)

the bocchi side of tumblr is right this show rules. i like how real bocchi’s social anxiety feels (literally how it felt when i had it). the characters are entertaining, the show’s well done, they even have solid music (which band-based shows dont always do right!). its really funny and its really earnest and its a joy to watch

3. demon slayer: swordsmith village arc (2023)

i included the entertainment district arc in last year’s list so this arc makes the cut. im always late getting around to watch the new stuff and i dont want to read the manga but god DAMN does this show hit different. incredible fight scenes. i loved everything they did for the hashira backstories. i love whatever the fuck is up with genya. it even gave me some akaza to sustain me for the next year or whatever. ik this show gets overhyped but its normal hyped. to me.

2. frieren: beyond journey's end (2023)

oughhh frieren… ive only known this show for a few months but it means to much to me… i dont even wanna talk about it because its so good i just wanna watch it again. go watch frieren if you havent already its anime of the decade. to me

1. gundam: the witch from mercury (2022-2023)

ive never seen a gundam before but i will be watched them after this! what can be said about it that hasnt already been said on this site. the romance storyline is impeccable, the fights are awesome, the moral questions it posed were excellently covered. by the end of the first episode i was speechless. by the end of the last episode i'd cried like 4 times over the course of the show. this thing made me cry to happy birthday. what the fuck

I'm semi-fluent in spanish (hoping to get the seal of biliteracy later this year if I pass the AP test), and I know bits and pieces of indonesian, hopílavayi, and italian too!! not v much tho lolz.

After I learn Japanese I'm debating continuing to learn Indonesian, or Korean bcs it has super similar grammer and syntax to Japanese. Its a whole new writing system tho so I'll probably go with Indonesian. Chinese WOULD be on the list too but I would immediately give up on the tones. Maybe one day tho when i get more familiar w/ EA languages !! Arabic has also interested me for a while but again its a whole new alphabet... Arabic has a lot of similar vocab to spanish tho and it can totally help w/ indonesian so maybe. I love bragging abt languages sorry fbjfjejs

i would say anything after s3 is my least favourite arc bc i havent watched s4 or read the manga, so none of it makes sense to me.

one of the best plot twists i think was reiner killing marco and him having split personalities (?). when it was revealed i was so shocked it was so interesting i think. ALSO i love how ymir figured out that reiner was a traitor in the castles episodes bc she knew he could read the language on the food cans (pls correct me if im wrong haha) byeee <333

I actually strongly dislike Annie, and still didn’t like her in the end but I think it’s fine that you do!

My favorite plot arc is probably S3 when the battle turns from Titans to people. Everything with Kenny and the MPs. Finally finding out answers to a lot of the questions the series has been building up. The battles with Kenny and his team. The animation of the use of ODM gear. (Hello the iconic “kennny” and Levis use of the gear is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen). Everything was just perfect, and than afterwards when they finally head to the basement and we get the epic Beast Titan battle which is one of my top favorite scenes of the whole show. I obviously love Levi and we all knew up to that point how badass and strong he was but the Beast Titan at that point seemed like some big Titan leader and seeing Levi take him on with ease was just amazing. If I could watch anything again for the first time it would be that fight.

My least favorite arc is the beginning of season 4 because I didn’t and still couldn’t give a shit about any of the new characters from Marley except Reiner. Super unpopular opinion but it’s just how I feel. I won’t spoil it for you though.

My favorite plot twist was probably Reiner/Berthdolt being the armored and collosal titans! The way Reiner just casually tells Eren like in the background was just done so well for me. It was like a blink and you miss it and than all of sudden shit gets serious.

I also like the twist of the titans being former humans which at the time we learned of that was just so heavy. We thought of them as these mindless monsters so to know we’d been rooting against people who were turned without consent was heartbreaking.

Also another one of my favorite scenes is then making it to the ocean. It fills me with goosebumps and brings me to tears when I watch it. It’s like from the time they were kids Armin and Eren just wanted to see the ocean. Idk it’s fucking heartbreaking. Also when Eren says “If we kill all our enemies will we finally be free”(I’m paraphrasing I can’t remember the exact quote). That moment kills me every time. Especially on rewatch knowing that he knew what he was going to do!

Warnings: Spoilers for season 4 of Snk and a few manga spoilers. I do not own any the characters of Snk and gender neutral pronouns are used!

Plot: Levi takes care of you when you are sick.

Notes: Mainly writing this because i caught a cold and it feels like I'm on my deathbed but I hate it and sounded better in my head . Also I have no idea how to put the read more tag im so sorry

A few hours after the Marleyan ship had stopped on Paradis' port , Levi, Hange and Y/N found themselves in a tent having a discussion with the leaders of the ship, Yelena and Onyankopon. The tension was thick and the scout leaders among with commander Hange kept a distance with the two, still being hesitant over the "enemy's" motives. As much of a distance as Hange could keep as they were overly excited over Marley's technological achievements in comparison to those of Paradise. And as much of excitement scout leader Y/N Y/L/N felt, she couldn't exactly show it in her current condition.

Prior to the event they had been noticing themselves getting more and more tired and their migraines had been reaching an immense level of pain. And suddenly, as Hange and Yelena were having a conversation about future plans Y/N started coughing to the piece of white linen they kept in their pocket. Soon enough they excused themselves and stepped out of the tent.

Levi and Hange did not miss the red-ish hue on Y/N's cloth.

Outside the younger scouts surrounded Y/N asking them questions about how the table talk was going. It was no secret they had a weakness for Y/N, the scout leader being their teacher on their training days. It wasn't long enough until Mikasa noticed how they seemed off. And soon, as their coughing fit erupted again, they collapsed.

Levi felt as if his world had been swiped after his feet. The Paradis' life was hard enough but he would never have expected to lose his S/O to an illness. Especially when everything was seemingly alright and they had been married for a couple of months already.

He gazed at their face as they struggled to keep up with the conversation. They kept groaning and coughing and he knew it must have been painful for them to be like that. All he wished for was their health. So that the two could go on watching Paradis evolve together. So he could kiss and make love (or not!) to them they way they deserved to. So they could keep rambling about stuff they loved and how designing the new scouts uniform with Hange was going.

"I must have a lot of paperwork for when I get healthy again, huh?" They spoke up , their voice quiet and croaky.

"Just make sure you get better and we'll see about that, I have already gave a lot of your work to a few others so you can have it easy. Wouldn't wanna make you wish you could stay in bed one more week" Hange joked while Y/N laughed before coughing again. Immediately Levi took their side comforting them and trying to sooth their pain. Hange had to leave the room with tears in their eyes, not bearing to watch their best of friends in this state. Understanding that the news from the doctors weren't good, they couldn't help but feel hopeless losing Y/N in front of their eye little by little.

"I'm sorry I can't make you feel better. Im trying the best I can but those useless fucking doctors aren't able to do anything" Levi admitted startling Y/N as they sadly looked over him, his back facing them as he gazed out of the window. "I'm sorry I scared you, I should have kept it lower"

"I don't mind. Being stuck in this room for so many weeks has taken it's toll on me. I love the time I get to spend with you, knowing it might be the last-"

"Don't say that. I don't want to lose you"

"I know, Levi. Never thought I'd go out like this though, this is way less dramatic than I thought. But I don't mind. I got married to you and every single moment I've spent with you is golden. So I'm dying happy. Thank you for granting me a happy life, even if it's not as long as we scheduled it to be. Thank you" Soon enough Levi was in tears and his body started moving on it's own, collapsing to Y/N's side immediately and grasping their now frail hand as their other caressed his hair. They slowly fell asleep, with a smile on their face. These would be the last words Levi would hear coming from his lover as the morning when they woke up they would have gotten rapidly worse, taking away their ability to speak.

And over the course of two weeks they only got worse. Levi was exhausted both mentally and physically. Meetings were so painful as he only wanted to be by his S/O's side. And when he was done with them he would quickly go to their shared chamber and watch over them, bathe them and feed them as much as possible. When he couldn't, Mikasa and Sasha would be over to help while the boys watched the chambers and occasionally stopped by to keep them company.

The doctors lost hope with Y/N. They had no idea what was going on with them, despite over 4 of Paradis' best working together to find out what's wrong. That is until Hange brought up the scout leader's condition to Yelena, whom suggested a Marleyan doctor checks them out. Their meeting was brief but the blonde woman felt as if they were important to Paradis' future and that a death like this would be unfair to one of the heroes of Shiganshina.

Levi agreed, wanting what's best for his spouse and thankfully, the doctor was quite fast with the diagnosis. "You should have told me earlier about this. She suffered this much for something that could have been solved with the right medicine. I knew Paradis' healthcare system was 100 years back but it feels unfair watching innocent people suffer over something that is so common in Marley." The doctor spoke and suddenly a weight lifted off of Levi's shoulders. This felt like the best day of his life. It felt like freedom. "At their current state recovery won't be short but I assure you they will live. You will have your S/O back, Captain"

And you know, the physical pain i felt did never compare to what I felt when I watched you help me, even if it killed you or you had gotten 20 minutes of sleep. I wasn't healthy but I cared so much about you up to the point I wish I died just so you wouldn't have to deal with me. But I'm so glad I'm back even if I was a burden"

"You were never a burden to me. All I wanted was for you to not be in pain and hear you talk. I lived hell but losing you would be so much worse." He whispered as he buried his nose in their hair, their scented soap tickling his nose. "I've loved you when you were clueless as to what the hell was all the commotion when I joined the scouts and-"

"Hey! Paying attention to Keith lowered my life span"

"And I loved you when you fell sick. And I love you now and forever" He said, pulling back from the hug to look into his S/O's eyes that sparkled with love for their husband "I love you, idiot"

ok actual commentary. when i read the manga for the first time and got to connie's subplot with feeding falco?? i thought isayama really retconned his character ngl - granted i never liked connie as much as everyone else😭 sorry.

then again, connie rly lost his whole entire family - but how would connie's mother have even used the jaw titan to fight back? if he was resigned to the fact that eren was destroying the world other than Eldia, i suppose it'd make sense + connie was very blinded by grief with sasha, and having to see his mother in this state for years. jean made his own mistake by joining up with a jeagerists, resigning to the fact that he couldnt fight back.

i used to think connie was immature and dumb here, but i understand his actions (especially seeing how he doesnt know falco beyond the fact that hes a marleyan + was with gabi, who killed sasha).

jeez😭 in other news i cant help but rly rly dislike the girl who idolized mikasa sm. i know she saved her in season 1... she rly wanted to follow in her footsteps, but there's such a thing as idolizing someone too much. it's like she was left with no other goal in life but to be mikasa - she wasnt even her own person anymore. it's tragic.

i laughed so hard when onyakopon called the jaygerists 'xenophobic shits' LMAO - even when jean held a gun to his head. and then, when JEAN STOOD UP FOR ONYAKOPON! i forgot a few things from the manga evidently - that part fucking shook me.

also: jean pushing floch out of the way of the Cart - obviously, it was all a part of the escape plan. but floch couldnt know that right after the fact - which makes how 😐😒 he was right after especially shitty. for all he knew jean sacrificed his life - fucking asshole.

this mention of marco made me scream😭ok i couldnt control myself - not even for ship reasons as much as what marco must represent to jean. i fucking love jean's character, the fact that he's grown so so much since being a hotheaded pompous asshole who wanted in with the MP... the fact that he still thinks abt marco just fucking destroys me. i love him.

i couldnt help myself. this part was so funny, but i unironically felt super sad for hitch when annie up and left to join up with the others. idk i took that personally :( im glad annie is becoming more redeemed in this part of the season though - she killed a shit ton of scouts, but just like almost everyone else in aot, her morals are so grey that i love her anyway.

the terror on reiner's face when he saw the 104th😭these people who he felt guilt abt for years and stewed in so much regret mustve been a horrible wake up call lol. but gabi and falco are there!!

when ch126 came out (the one where that panel is from) it was shit on a lot, especially on reddit but i cant remember why✋ so stupid. i love this panel - it's one of those iconic ones - and it rly represents how everyone, enemies and friends, are coming together and resolving to stop the Rumbling, as little power as they may hold.

Uhm can my first request be a hawks x fem reader angst, if you write that and uh can it be an imagine where he gets mad at her and ends up hurting her, angst with happy ending? .i hope that is okay but its up to u. A/N: Thank you again so much for your request! I hope you don’t mind, but I did change this up a little bit. I hope you enjoy!

Warnings/Contains: Angst, this takes place during/after the last two episodes of season 4 so slight manga spoilers? (I haven’t read much so this is mostly just hypothetical speculation from what I have read), cursing, argument, reader being shoved by Keigo.

Word Count: 2031

He knew it was risky, but then again, what else was he supposed to do? He had no other option. He had to be careful on how he went about this, as anyone could be watching or listening. Hell, for all he knew someone already knew of what he was planning to do or already done and was waiting for the perfect moment to chance to blackmail him.

However, he couldn’t think of that right now. He had to focus on what his plans were. If one thing went wrong or was out of place, it could sabotage everything.

“Keigo?”

The winged man flinched slightly as he heard his name being called out so suddenly. He had been so lost in thought that he had stopped eating the dinner that his girlfriend prepared for him. Keigo looked up at her, blinking to get rid of any possible look he had in his eyes that could worry her.

“Hm? What is it, baby?”

“Are you okay? You kinda spaced out there.”

(Y/N) let out a chuckle, finding it a little funny how her boyfriend would sometimes focus on the smallest things. She didn’t find it out of the ordinary, but she did find it odd that something other than herself managed to tear Keigo away from the precious chicken parmesan you made him. As he replied to her, part of her began to take notice how out of place he seemed to be every now and then over the last few weeks; this was just the first time she had taken the time to ask him about it.

“Oh,” Keigo laughed along with her, nodding his head. “Yeah, I’m okay. Just thinking about work is all.”

“Do you wanna talk about it?” (Y/N) took a bite from the food on her plate, her tone being very easy going as it was obvious to her boyfriend that he didn’t have to tell her, but she was still there to listen if he needed her. At the same time, she wanted to know in case something was seriously wrong. He was a pro hero after all, and that job comes with many risks.

“No, it’s alright. A certain case has just been in my mind after hearing about it today.” Keigo took a bite of the chicken, humming in satisfaction at the taste. He swore he would never get tired of his girlfriend’s cooking. “Dinner’s great, by the way. Thank you for making it.” He smiled, knowing that he changed the subject smoothly enough to make both of them move on from the previous topic.

(Y/N) proceeded to thank him, going on to say that she had to run to the store at the last minute to get an ingredient that they didn’t have in the kitchen. Of course, Keigo’s thoughts remained elsewhere while his eyes were trained on the one he loved.

The next morning, Keigo had gotten up a little bit earlier than usual before leaving for work. Granted, he did have to make a stop first before the hero rankings happened later that day.

Keigo had arrived at the warehouse first, looking around the building to make sure no one could possibly see him before walking inside.

“About time you got here.”

Keigo had barely taken 3 steps inside before he heard the voice. Even if he had expected it, he still pulled out one of his longest and sharpest feathers and pointed it in the direction he heard it in. He kept the hard glare on his face as he stared at the man. “You should be more careful about keeping yourself out of sight, Dabi.”

The man chuckled, obviously sarcastic as he shrugged his shoulders while his hands rested in his pockets. “Please, if anyone else stumbled across this place I would have taken care of them without you even knowing.” He smirked slightly, almost making Keigo question whether or not Dabi really had done that before he arrived.

Either way, he rolled his eyes and lowered the feather in his hand. They had work to do soon that could not be treated nicely. “Let’s just finalize the details and get this over and done with, shall we?”

Keigo smiled to himself, proud of the fact that he managed to bring Endeavor to his hometown of Fukuoka just like he planned. Now, all that was left to do was seal the deal and wait for everything to go down the next day, or so he had thought.

He and Endeavor were eating lunch to discuss all that was going on when it happened, and part of Keigo was annoyed at himself for thinking that it would happen this way. Nevertheless, he and Endeavor fought the Nomu that Dabi and himself had planned for in hopes that everything would turn out like the plan originally intended to go.

It was a hard fight, one that even he didn’t expect to go the way it did. Of course, he couldn’t focus on that factor for long, as he still had a job to do. Sadly, it fell short as Endeavor had won the battle against the Nomu. Even though he was hoping for the end of Endeavor like Dabi was, he couldn’t help but admire the pro for always trying to get to the number one spot.

Endeavor always kept trying to get there unlike others who simply stood by thinking it was impossible. Keigo strived to be like that too, even if he claimed to want a lower hero ranking. He wanted to be able to create a laidback world so that heroes didn’t have to work so hard all the time, and he would do anything in order to do so. Including killing the man who had inspired him.

While he was upset about the plan not going the way he had hoped, and the fact that Dabi had acted without telling him, Keigo couldn’t help but feel stressed due to the fact that everything he had done in order to pull this off was now a waste. And he had no idea when he would be able to get another chance like this again.

He managed to reason with Dabi so that they could come up with another plan to end the current number one hero later in time, but for now, all he wanted to do was go home and relax in attempt to get rid of the pounding in his head and aches in his body from the fight he had.

The moment Keigo stepped into the apartment and closed the door behind him, (Y/N) made her way to the door to greet him, walking faster than usual. She knew that he was okay, as he had called her shortly before meeting with Dabi to let her know, but worry was still written all over her face.

“Keigo,” (Y/N)’s hands raised to her mouth as she noticed that most of his wings were gone after the fight. Even if they would grow back over the course of a couple days, it was still an unusual sight to see from her boyfriend. “Your wings.” She stepped towards him again, reaching out to hold his cheek so he’d look her in the eye.

Instead, Keigo moved her hand away before she could touch him and took off his coat followed by his shoes. “I’m fine, (Y/N).”

The tone in his voice was one (Y/N) knew all too well: stress. “You’re not, and we both know it.”

Keigo didn’t say a word and simply walked past her to the kitchen. He reached into one cabinet and grabbed a glass, then into another to grab a bottle of gin and seltzer water. (Y/N) followed him, choosing her words carefully. “You don’t have to tell me what’s on your mind, whether you do or not. But please tell me how I can help you.”

“You can be quiet, that’s how you can help.”

(Y/N) eyed him, part of her hurt from his words and part of her annoyed. “Excuse me?” “You may say that you can help, but right now, all I need from you is silence and to leave me alone.” Kiego’s back faced her while he spoke, making the cocktail that he decided on. He turned around and took a big sip; he took in the expression she now wore herself.

“What on earth happened to make you start acting like this?” (Y/N) took a step forward, still hoping that she could figure out what was actually going on. There was definitely a reason as to why he acted so different compared to the way he did after a hard day at work, so what caused it?

“What do you want me to say when I come home from work, (Y/N)? That everything was all fine and dandy? No crime happened throughout the city? The district? The country?” He let out a short yet sarcastic laugh. “Well guess what sweetheart? That just isn’t the case, is it?” He took another swig of his drink before setting it down on the counter.

(Y/N) held back from sounding so harsh, becoming more and more ticked off as her boyfriend dodged question after question thrown at him. “Keigo, please,” she stepped forward, reaching out to him again. “Just answer my question so I can help you.”

Keigo eyed her as she got close, her words starting to get to him. He was a hero, so he should be helping other people, not the other way around. But, with his plans in flames from Dabi, the world he was hoping for was now even further out of his reach.

He stepped away to walk out of the kitchen, mumbling under his breath. “I’m going to get a shower.”

(Y/N) trailed after him, putting a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to stop him as Keigo began to step into the hallway. “No, you’re not.” It was then that Keigo would turn to regret everything.

“I told you to leave me alone!”

In less than a second, Keigo turned around to move (Y/N)’s hand off of him, but in the process of doing so, he accidentally put too much strength into his movements and slammed (Y/N) into the cabinets next to her with just his arm.

(Y/N) lost her breath as well as her footing from hitting the wood so hard and fell to the floor. She hesitantly looked up at her boyfriend, seeing as he was now glaring harsher at her with his teeth slightly bared. She could almost feel the anger now radiating off of him, and she was terrified.

The realization of what Keigo had just done sunk in mere seconds after it happened. He felt his heart drop at the sight of the one he loved on the ground from his actions, now scared of him and what he would possibly do to her next. “(Y/N),” was all he could get out.

“No, don’t.” (Y/N) moved back on the floor as best as she could in her scared state. She eventually stood up, backing up away from him while her arms wrapped around herself. “If you’re going to act like this, then I’m going to leave before you do anything worse.”

Keigo couldn’t bring himself to look her in the eyes, instead staring at the floor. He didn’t even move when (Y/N) walked past him with tears in her eyes. He could hear her grab her keys and put on her shoes before leaving, slamming the door for good measure.

Keigo didn’t try running after her, instead raising a hand to grip his hair tightly and leaning against the doorway of the kitchen. “Fuck.” This all happened because of him and his selfish actions, and there was no other way to look at the situation. “I’m sorry.”

He knew that one simple apology wasn’t going to solve anything, but then again he didn’t know what he could do to turn this around. He grit his teeth and his other hand hit the wall beside him. “I’m so sorry.”

A random headcanon: in a bad timeline where hiyori forgets all about yato: she starts randomly drawing this 'weird guy' in her notebooks and takes up art classes to be able to draw this face that keeps appearing in her mind. You know that scene in 50 first dates where the main character has memory loss but she draws her love interest and has a whole wall full of her drawings of him? Kind of like that.

General Opinion over said character: she is an absolute badass and i am always torn between wanting her to live a normal human life, detatched from the gods, and wanting her to be with yato and yukine forever.

I just want her to have a better life with kazuma and her other shinkis.

I'm sorry for all the [redacted] but i dont want to give you spoilers lol. Just know that everything sucks and i'm dying. The manga is CRUEL.

A Wish For Love

The morning sun peaked through the curtains shining on her face. She turned around pulling her blankets up to shield her from the suns light. Burying her face into her pillow she try’s to go back to sleep. But then her aunt yells.

“YUNA!, IM GOING OUT, YOU BETTER GET YOUR CHORES DONE.”

Now fully awake, She dose a long drawn out groan,but rolls out of bed. She goes down stairs to get her chores done for the day and thinks about what she’s going to have for breakfast. Her aunt has been seeing some guy lately and has been going out more, but it’s not like she really cares.

After finishing her breakfast she dose her chores for the day. Once she finished she wonders what she’s going to do for the rest of the day. She doesn’t really have any Friends or anyone to hang out with, and there isn’t really much to do with such Limited resources. She goes up to her bedroom and looks through her DVDs, it’s mostly anime because her neighbor has a anime DVD Collection that he lets her borrow, he also let her keep some of the DVDs.

She looks through the ones she has then sighs she’s already watched them like a million times. She lays down on her bed and closes her eyes, she doesn’t really like to be alone in this quiet house. She flips on her bed and looks outside her window, she sees her other neighbors kids playing with a hose wile there parents Watch and cut watermelon for the kids. It was something she never experienced, as far as she can remember she’s always been alone, her mother walked out after she was born, and her father wasn’t interested in raising a child. When she turned seven he sent her to go live with her aunt, but she wasn’t really any better than her father.

Sometimes she wonders why she was even born. Nobody wants her she’s just a burden on everyone, it’s not like she’s ever going to do any thing with her life. except apparently stalk poor unsuspecting family’s because she’s pathetic and can only watch people experience a life she’ll never get to have. Maybe she should just do everyone a favor and end it al... maybe she should just go borrow some dvds from her neighbors house.

Walking over to her neighbors house She noticed that he’s not home, he’s probably at a convention. She digs through her pockets for the spare key he gave her and opens the door. She goes over to where he keeps his dvds and looks through them, when she notices something on the table. It was A couple of bags and something wrapped in baby blue wrapping paper with a red ribbon. She walked over to the table and picked up a note that was on top of the box.

-Sorry that I couldn’t see you when I got back from my convention. I was sent on a Business trip and didn’t have much time to get ready, I don’t know how long I’ll be gone and I might not be back for a while. I got some things from the Convention for you though, and a dvd set for an anime called my hero academia, it’s pretty popular. I figured you might want some new anime that’s not decades old.

She got excited and immediately opens the Gifts he got her. And lo and behold there was a brand new dvd for the anime my hero academia and surprisingly enough the first volume for the Manga. In the bags there seem to be a few key chains and other trinkets of the characters from the show. She smiled and left a note thanking him for the gifts, for whenever he got back from his business trip. And practically runs back to her house to Watch it.

She ended up finishing season one by the time it got dark and she had to start dinner. She was watching A few episodes of season two before her aunt came home with her boyfriend drunk. It ends up ruining her mood and she takes her things back up to her room. She here’s them talking in the kitchen about her, but she just ignores it and decides to go to sleep.

The next day she wakes up and dose all her chores for the day before finding a letter on the table Addressed to her. She Opens it, and can only manage to read half of the letter before she starts Wiping away tears. She throws the letter back onto the table before running up to her room grabbing a few things and her keys, and runs out of her house.

Her aunt was leaving to go get married, and said she was old enough to start living by herself and she would send her money. Her aunt was leaving her, abandoning her just like her father did. Maybe she thought that she wouldn’t care, her relationship with her aunt had always been a little strained. But they still have their moments, she had at least thought her aunt cared about her in her own way. But of course she was wrong.

how could anyone love someone like her.

She ran into the forest near her house. She doesn’t know how long she was running but eventually she stoped because her legs started to hurt. She took a moment to catch her breath and then looked around her, she was pretty deep in the forest but as long as she made it back before nightfall she would be able to find her way back. She sat down and looked at the few things she brought with her, apparently in her hysteria One of the things she brought was the manga for my Hero academia. She chuckled a bit at where her priorities lie apparently, but sat down and started reading.

She ended up falling in love with the characters all over again, she kept reading but At some point she must’ve fallen asleep because when she woke up it was pitch dark. She got up carefully and try’s to navigate her way through the dark trying to find her way back to her house. But while she was walking she tripped on some thing and fell tumbling down a small cliff and hit her head when she hit the ground.

Her thoughts started to go hazy and black dots clouded her vision. It hurt to move and she felt something dripping down her head.

‘I’m really sleepy, maybe I should just sleep here, I’m sure someone will notice me gone and come look for me.’

Then she realized no, no one would come look for her she was all alone now. If she really did disappear it’s not like anyone would miss her. Her aunt would probably be happy about it finally being able to get rid of her. At least it would be An interesting story for this boring old town, where it always seems like every day is the same.

She couldn’t help the tears that started to fall now that she finally realized that no one loved her, that she was truly alone in the world. As her vision started to dim she couldn’t help but think.

“I wish I could be born again. Born into a world were people could love me, where I could have my childhood back. Maybe I could be reborn somewhere fun, like my hero academia.”

Sleep finally took her and the world went black. But then a cold sensation washed over her and she felt like she was falling.

In a completely different universe a little girl lost all hope in life. She looked up to the sky.

“I don’t want to be here anymore. I just can’t deal with this. I wish someone Else could just be me instead.”

violent/horror/gore/supernatural (& i mean it. skip this first set if you cant handle gore or graphic content)

berserk. both the 90s / new remake are great. there’s also movies that go through the entire story arc. but this one is VERY dark & very graphic. 

attack on titan. AMAZING. 

goblin slayer. so fucking good. 10/10. still waiting on the next season.

blood+ great story with a great love story. 

elfen lied. creepy and fantastic. 

another. i dont think this one was as graphic, but creepy. i havent seen it in a while though so i could be wrong. 

re:zero. a thriller sort of anime with some graphic content. 

boku dake ga inai machi / erased. HOLY SHIT SO GOOD. main character can reset 7min before accidents happen & he sets out to find out what happens to a childhood friend. 

higurashi no naku koro ni kai. cute killer girls. kind of dated, but still worth the watch. has amazing music. 

kiseijuu sei no kakuritsu 

slice of life / chances are it will destroy your life & make you cry 

 koe no katachi / a silent voice. it’s about bullying & the aftermath of it.

kimi no na wa / your name. this one is a movie. boy and girl wake up in each other’s bodies.

ao haru ride. SOOOOOOO GOOD HOLY SHIT. incredible love story. incredible characters. fantastic all around

ano hi mita hana no namae wo bokutachi wa mada shiranai. be prepared to cry many tears. a story about friendship & ghosts. 

your lie in april. i wasn’t okay for hours after finishing this one. truly a beautiful story. also, lots of tears. 

5 centimeters per second. story of friends who are forced apart due to family moves. fantastic. 

kimi no suizou wo tabetai / i want to eat your pancreas. MANY TEARS, SOOO GOOOOOOOOD. also a movie. 

nagi no asu kara. beautiful animation, wonderful story. about people who live under the sea and on land. 

fruits basket 2019 reboot. this is my first time enjoying this series. i love it. cute animation, awesome story. 

action anime (could have hints of violence but not like the first list)

akatsuki no yona / yona of the dawn. SO GOOD. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW GOOD THIS ONE IS. it only has one season, but the manga? read it if you enjoy the first season. it’s about a spoiled pampered princess & her forever loyal bodyguard + the loyal “dragons” that come to follow her. lots of action, romance, and amazing relationships between the entire cast of characters. 

seirei no moribito. female lead character protecting a royal boy. fantastic.

the rising of the shield hero SOOOOO GOOD. 

demon slayer. brother sets out to save his sister. it’s a nice story. great animation. 

fate / zero. lots of seasons + a movie or two. has a touch of history. 

sword art online. just the first two seasons. 

is it wrong to try and pick up girls in a dungeon? on the side. this one is the same story as  this one  just from another point of view. both are good. 

classic anime that everyone should watch just because 

sailor moon / sailor moon crystal. crystal has done through infinity arc & the dream arc is coming next fall. it follows the manga a lot closer than the 90s anime ever did and even if a lot of people didn’t like the animation, i loved it. especially for the second season / r arc. 

inuyasha. fantastic story, amazing love story. the characters are great. and despite being older, it doesnt feel dated. the final arc was fantastic & tugged at my heartstrings over and over again

trigun. i havent watched this one in YEARS but i always enjoyed it. probably a little dated by now.

yu yu hakusho. also a little dated, im here still hoping for a reboot someday. 

chobits. really cute!!

naruto shippuden. literally no reason to watch naruto (220 episodes lmao) because a quick google search would explain the story. just watch shippuden but for the love of god skip the filler  there’s also a bunch of movies. dont bother with boruto. also has amazing openings/endings. 

rurouni kenshin / samurai x. you can honestly jsut watch the movies. ESPECIALLY TRUST & BETRAYAL. that movie is one of my favorites. i actually rewatched this series… two summers ago? its held up well despite being older.

sailor moon, the manga is so fucking good. ive read it so many times, it never gets old. it’s my favorite canon of the series. 

akatsuki no yona. i cant even with this manga. again, 10/10. its one of my favorites. if the first season of the manga interested you, watch it and continue the manga. it’s still ongoing. 

love so life. age difference romance. a high school student is the babysitter for two adorable twins that are being raised by their uncle. literally so good. 

faster than a kiss. another age difference romance. a teen girl and her baby brother are orphaned and eventually alone. her teacher takes them in. another amazing story.

Now that im up to date let's talk aot! Ive also read the manga up until the end of season 3. Im not sure if I want to go past the anime at this point, ive seen some spoilers and idk I kinda like being unsure atm at whats going to happen. Anway Im liking the new animation! I quite like both styles but I feel like the change in animation suits the change in the series since were seeing everyone grown up.

The whole basement reveal really shocked me, out of all the things I wasnt expecting that. I thought it would be about cure for the titans since Dr Jaegar is a doctor and maybe he figured out a way to cure the world. Instead I felt like the whole world turned on its head😂 Im glad it wasn't spoiled for me, it was a complete surprise which is nice. I feel like as a show no matter how much we learn there's still things that are unknown. Its really good and well written, also very cruel. Overall im enjoying it a lot and im glad I started watching it. What are your thoughts on aot and the new season so far? I’m feeling the new animation! It’s much for rugged and makes the characaters look older so I agree that it works. Kinda reminds me of the hq animation switch (pre quarantine) because it made all the boys look older and better.

Since you more or less binged watched it, did you find it was a rollercoaster? Did you find it confusing or easy to follow? For me: I started watching AOT when it came out when I was in high school so after every episode this season I literally have to watch an “explained” video. I quite enjoy them now actually as it has become a part of the process haha. I’m about to watch episode 10s now !!

top tier, a masterpiece truly

i'd rate it 100/10 but it surpasses that honestly

it's just really REALLY good

might be a little bit slow in the beginning but trust me it picks up quickly

assassination classroom / ansatsu kyoushitsu

genre: shounen, school, action, kids being kids but with knives and guns

brief summary: a class of kids are assigned to kill a super monster before he blows up the earth in exactly one year - the catch is that he’s their homeroom teacher :D

basically kids learning how to be assassins but also trying to pass school and it's all very heartfelt and you WILL adopt them all

10/10 i cry every time

honestly watch this first it’s very easy to follow

also a manga with a few storylines the anime left out, not crucial but i recommend anyways since i read it first before the anime even came out and it just has a special place in my heart

genre: shounen, urban fantasy, gods being literal disasters someone pls help them

brief summary: a girl accidentally meets an unknown god and asks him for his help, slowly learns more about his world (i’m so sorry this is really vague but it’ll all be covered in the first episode trust me)

the gods can find spirits (dead people) and turn them into weapons if that’s cool

sexy animation !!!!!

only big flaw with the anime is that they mess up the main character’s characterization a little bit so you might want to read the manga? also only has two seasons and the manga is further along ,,, but everyone is currently stressed tf out over the plot ohmygod ,,,

gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun

genre: romantic comedy but heavy emphasis on comedy, slice of life, literal chaos

brief summary: a girl has a crush on a guy who turns out to be a manga artist, she winds up being his assistant (this barely covers it though)

a bunch of high school kids being chaotic and oblivious

just watch it i can’t really explain it in words you’ll be laughing a lot

only one season so if you enjoy there’s also more chaos in the manga

genre: shoujo, classical music !!!!

brief summary: a former piano prodigy who no longer plays because he can’t hear music meets a violinist that brings color into his life once again

it’s official!! tumblr keeps eating my asks and i am 😡😡 so im sorry if it looks like i’m getting back to u super late!! anyways i really liked ‘the promised neverland’ actually!! i only watched the anime (but i vaguely know what happens later on in the manga) and i find that it’s one of the few horror anime that’s actually... suspenseful and sinister, if anything. like ‘corpse party’ & ‘another’ are considered staple horror anime, but they’re just a gorefest tbh with very little else imo (1/2)

i didn’t read/watch all of ‘bleach’ (mostly because of a show has 200+ episodes i am very much afraid of the commitment LOL) but while i think that orihime ending up with ichigo isn’t... necessarily bad per se? i just thought & felt like rukia & ichigo just grew into their relationship together?? idk i’m probably not making any sense but UH YEAH in the meantime i finished season 1 of furuba (2019) & it’s very cute! i think i prefer it to the 2001 anime haha —akayona anon!! 💗💗

and OH the promised neverland is so dear to me!!! it was the first shounen where I actually caught up and waited weekly for updates LOL - I realized how spoiled shounen followers are since they get weekly updates whereas most shoujo get monthly or bi-weekly updates u__u (then again i am pretty sure attack on titan updates monthly too LOL)

I haven’t seen corpse party or another o: but I will def check them out!! I don’t mind gore at all!! but the promised neverland is definitely more psychological horror and terrifying compared to anything i’ve read LOL but later on in the manga it gets more...political? kind of like attack on titan!! ITS SO GOOD! I recommend it!! especially since its completed now so you can binge!! and its not as long as other shounen!

and i dont blame u about bleach LOL i think i was thinking between naruto - bleach - one piece and i went with bleach bc I liked the art more haha, and YEAH now that I’m older and I’m not too obsessed over ‘canon’ pairings (cause ppl ship what they ship!!) its not that bad, but I think the story got too crazy for me to continue haha, and FURUBA IS FRUIT’S BASKET RIGHT? OMG I remember I waited episode by episode until i dropped it bc of school BUT NOW I WANT TO WATCH IT IN ITS ENTIRETY! I heard it’s those staple anime but the art was definitely something that i look for in any manga/anime
