She lives in my mind rent-free at the moment so here are some hcs abt her <3

• Arachne was her father's favourite. He'd let her get away with skipping class and not doing her homework and even only gave a shrug when he found out she'd punched Urban Canville (after He'd mocked Livia)

• She grew up with four older brothers and their mother liked to dress them in similar colour patterns

• Although she'd never admit it, Arachne was terrified of thunderstorms as they'd remind her of the war

• Arachne didn't like having to mentor Brandy, specifically not after she injured her (in my AU Brandy only hurts her slightly). However when Brandy died in the arena, Arachne began wondering whether the games really were necessary. She didn't like the way the tributes were shown off

• Despite her marriage was also based on social status, Arachne had a very happy marriage. She and her husband Lucius were a very popular elite couple and would sometimes be on the front covers of Capitol magazines

• Coriolanus only continued to tolerate her because he knew she was Livia's best friend. He couldn't stand Livia either but as he needed his First Lady staying loyal and by his side, he allowed her to still be friends with Arachne

• Arachne was a very loving mother to Seneca. She was strict when it came to his efforts in school (as she wanted him to have an important job like gamemaker) but otherwise was very caring. After Seneca was killed by Coriolanus, Arachne was never the same again. She tried covering her grief but mostly failed miserably

• She and Livia rarely left each other's side after escaping to District 13. After the war they became neighbours and their grandaughters were best friends
