mm im not sure if i have any useful tips since im still very noob at bgs myself... but definitely something that helps a lot is doing tiny thumbnails! it allows you to get a sense of the shapes, composition, and where everything in your piece will be but just... vewy tiny. & generally, if you want to do quick studies, you should practice simplifying things so that they’re fast but still have recognizable silhouettes!

i wouldn’t worry too much about spending a lot of time on studies :’) the one i just posted took way longer than i wanted too LOL but honestly, i think it’s something you get faster at as you improve and perspective & objects are more familiar to you!
