I need you, protect yourself (Husband! Ardeth Bay x Wife! Reader PART 1)
Tumblr media
Fandom: The Mummy, The Mummy Returns
Since you and your husband returned to London, troubles broke out in your lives and your brother's.
Imhotep had woken up and had everything to gain. You were terrified, your nephew had been kidnapped and these people had no mercy.
Being the wife of the chief of the tribe had not been easy, you were a foreigner, your knowledge had gaps.
But after a considerable time, seeing that you were simply sincere and devoted to the love of Ardeth and the people, you managed to win the affection of most people.
They even shared gun knowledge with you, and you were forever grateful.
Now they were in Ahm Shere, where the plan was as follows.
You, Evie and Jonathan were going to cover for Rick and Ardeth.
And although you insisted on accompanying your brother, your husband flatly forbade it.
"You are my husband, not my father, Ardeth, you cannot order me not to do it"
You said denying, while your slightly wavy hair moved along with the denials you made with your head.
Ardeth understood, you were terrified, and you wanted to fight them, side by side, as you had done since the first time, but he couldn't expose you to more danger, not again.
"I am not asking you as a husband, I am ordering you as the head of the Medjai"
You shook your head, defeated, as a tear pitifully fell from your eyes. Ardeth took you by the cheeks and dried your tears, looking into your eyes.
"I want to go with you..."
Your husband denied.
"I have promised you before, I will come back to you, one way or another, but I will"
A sob escaped from your throat.
"When that damn mummy returns to hell with the Scorpion King, we will return to the village and live in peace, I promise you, my love"
He said, you looked him in the eye.
"Come back, it's a direct order from the wife of the boss"
You said, your husband hastened to kiss your lips. a deep kiss, almost goodbye. He broke away from you with difficulty, before running off so you wouldn't chase him.
"Ardeth!"
You told him with tears in your eyes. You hugged Rick and got ready with Rick and Evie. Oh, thank goodness. When the revolver was leveled at Ardeth's head and a shot rang out, he nearly had a heart attack. But you held Jon so tight when you saw the man go down thanks to his shot.
Well, after that, Rick managed to defeat the Scorpion King, and Izzy found them and rescued them.
Oh how you loved him.
There he was, riding his black horse, smiling at you.
"Izzy, put me down"
The man huffed in annoyance, but at Rick's accusing glare, he did.
Before going down, you looked at your brother with watery eyes and ran to hug him.
"I will miss you so much, Rick..."
Your brother sighed and kissed your head, hugging you.
"We will continue writing to each other, but I hope you come to visit me without a mummy wanting to destroy the world"
You laughed and you separated from his embrace.
You said goodbye to the entire crew and Ardeth got off his horse. You laughed and ran into your husband's arms, uniting them in a hug expected by both.
You got on his horse and hugged his waist throughout the entire ride. And when they got to the village, the celebratory whoops and whistles at the two of you and the army invaded your ears.
Now if you had earned the affection of his family.

Light Of Days...
Tumblr media
Summary: After being bound by mystical cuffs, Alana stays in Egypt, learning and protecting.
Warnings: Fighting
Alana POV
I've been here for a few years now and, it wasn't all that bad. Today, there was going to be a spar between Anck-Su-Namun and Nefertiri. I was to attend. Since I was apparently a goddess, I was given the position of Queen of the Medjai. The Pharaoh's personal guards. When I got to the throne room, Anck-Su-Namun and Nefertiri were handed Sai's and golden masks. I was also handed a mask with strands of woven white golden silk for decoration. I put my mask on and stood next to Seti. (P.S: she wore a white version of what Nefertiti was wearing)
I saw Imhotep the other side of him. I didn't trust the High Priest. Not one bit. Anyway, when the Pharaoh clapped, the two began fighting. The clashing of their weapons and their grunts filled the room. I watched intently. Nefertiri was certainly well driven and motivated but, she was a bit impatient and forgets to observe a move before countering it sometimes. Anck-Su-Namun was a heavy offence and was creative.
After the two lost their Sai's, Seti motioned me to bend down a bit lower. I did and moved my brown hair so he could mutter into my ear. "Join in any time you please. I would value their reactions," he whispered. I nodded and waited. As Anck-Su-Namun grabbed a spear and Nefertiri got an axe, I carefully took out my scimitar without making any noise and teleported between the two, fighting both of them at once. All that filled the room were our weapons clashing, our heavy breathing and the sound of our bare feet hitting the polished floors. Anck-Su-Namun got Nefertiri on the floor, disarmed and pointed the point of the spear at her throat whilst I had the blade of my scimitar near her neck. Either way, I had won this situation. The people in the room clapped at the performance. "You are learning quickly, Nefertiri. I'll have to watch my back," Anck-Su-Namun said with a smirk.
"Yes..... and I'll watch mine," Nefertiri spat back, making her future mother-in-law's smirk drop. "Bravo! Bravo!" the Pharaoh cheered as Anck-Su-Namun dropped the spear and I helped up Nefertiri after lifting my mask. She smiled at me in gratitude. "Who better to protect the Bracelet of Anubis than my lovely daughter, Nefertiri," Seti said, putting an arm around his daughter's shoulders.
"Who better to protect me than my future wife, Anck-Su-Namun," the Pharaoh added, his mistress bowing. "And who better than to protect my daughter and my line than Lampetia, Queen of the Medjai," Seti said. I nodded and bowed also. After that, I left and got changed into a long white dress with a golden sash tied around below my bust and a golden one shoulder strap. "I saw how well you fought," a good friend of mine said. He was a chieftain of a Medjai tribe. My loyal second hand. His name was Amun and he was rather good looking and was also the man who put my cuffs on. Not that I blamed him for the infernal things.
I smiled lightly. "Well, it is all due to experience," I said with a chuckle. I wonder if I'll experience anything new in the future..........

THERE WAS NO TOMB MARKED HERE.
Of that, you were certain. The map clutched in your hand told you so, and yet real life didn't lie. There was a door carved into the side of this cliff. Every bone in your body told you to go back, to get your superior and have him open this door. Who knew what lay on the other side of it?
Of course, that's exactly what you didn't do.
You were going to get in so much trouble for this, but in the back of your mind, a small voice urged you to go forward, to enter the tomb. The door clearly marked a tomb. As an archaeologist, one of the brightest in your field with a minor in Egyptology, you could read hieroglyphs. It made you a valuable asset to Mina Neela's sponsored archaeology dig. Four months ago, the woman had approached you in a bar, and given you her card while telling you she'd pay handsomely for your skills on a dig. Intrigued, and helped by the way her voice seemed way too melodic as if luring you into a trance, you agreed. Her only rule was that you reported everything to her immediately.
Which was why you could only hope she wouldn't kick you off the dig on the spot when you came back from exploring a tomb without her permission.
You stepped forward, black boots nudging the sand away from the threshold of the door. Typically, warnings were inscribed over tombs and -- yes, there it was. Turn back. That was interesting. Most Egyptian tombs bore some sort of drastic, cryptic warning of death and doom, but this one didn't. Just turn back.
An odd feeling swept over your body as you came face to face with the door. How would you even get in? But that same odd feeling told your brain to make your hand tap on the right corner of the wall, and the door slid open.
How?
You didn't try to question it too much. You just hoped your brain would process all of this later and come up with some logical explanation as to how you knew how to open a millennia-old doorway. (You had seen your fair share of mummy movies; you were no princess waiting to be awoken from her 'slumber'.)
When you stepped over the threshold, time disappeared.
Reality felt distorted.
Come to me.
The voice appeared in your mind the second your foot made contact on the other side of the door. Not only that, but a flood of images. Laughter filled your senses, and so did a sense of strange joy. You could see flashes of white and gold, promises by made ghostly voices echoing in your ears. You were no princess. . . But you were more than a simple human.
My priestess. My love.
"I am coming," you whispered.
The voices followed you and led you as you entered the yawning darkness. Behind you, the cries of your team were drowned out as the door slid shut, and you were left alone. You were not scared, though. A sense of peace filled you and settled down, leaving you to breathe a sigh of relief. You could relax here, couldn't you?
Nothing would hurt you.
With those images and the voices still filling your mind, you made your careful way in the darkness. He was here, somewhere, and he was calling you. On one hand, you weren't sure what you were doing, but the other part of you felt at home. Natural. This was normal, wasn't it? Following ghost voices into an unexplored tomb.
You were worried you had no light, but you soon found you didn't need one. Step by step, he told you where to turn, where to duck. He told you where to avoid the traps of snakes and poisoned darts. Someone had wanted to keep him here forever. To never ever let him out. You wondered why, and a sense of anger filled your chest. He needed to be free, didn't everyone know that?
Your hand met a cold smooth surface. With a soft smile, you ran your hand over it, feeling bumps and edges that could only mean carvings. He was here, you could feel it, and he needed to be let out.
"I am here," you whispered.
Your hands found the edge of the stone, and you tugged. It was heavy, but it budged. You tugged again, getting it to move again. And again. And again. Until the sarcophagus stood open before you, and you gasped.
It was empty.
But your name rang out in the dark chamber, and you whirled.
Imhotep.
"You are alive. . ." You whispered. And he was more than a mummy. He smiled, flesh and blood for you to hug and kiss and hold. He was right there, and he offered his hand to you. A new warmth spread across your body as he welcomed you.
"I came back for you, my love."
His lips pressed a gentle promise to yours.

Don’t know if this has been done yet, but...
The Mummy (1999) Cherik AU
Charles Xavier as Evelyn Carnahan
Erik Lensherr as Rick O’Connell
Raven Darkholme as Jonathan Carnahan
Janos or Shabastian Shaw as Beni Gabor
Azazel or Logan Howlett as Ardeth Bay
Kurt Marko as Dr. Terence Bey
Sean Cassidy as Warden Gad Hassan
Moira MacTaggert as Dr. Allen Chamberland
Hank McCoy as Mr. Burns
Alex Summers as Mr. Daniels
Angel Salvador as Mr. Henderson
This could probably work with or without powers. Below is a brief (as it can be) version of the AU. Have as much fun as you want with this.
Charles works as a librarian in the Museum of Antiques for his step-father, Dr. Kurt Marko, in Cairo, Egypt. He finds his sister, Raven (Either Xavier/Marko/Darkholme), in the Egyptian area of the museum. Raven gives him a box and a map which can lead them to Hamunaptra. They bring it to Dr. Marko but he burns part of the map to discourage their little treasure hunt. Furious with their step-father, Charles and Raven head to find Erik Lensherr, the man who previously owned the items.
They find him imprisoned and set to be hanged. His mind set, Charles tries to get information out of Erik about Hamunaptra. Charles first impression of Erik is brute and rude, but he can’t deny his attraction to the man. Erik must have felt similarly as he forcefully kisses Charles before being dragged away. Charles should have been offended, but is instead dazed.
When it comes time for Erik’s execution, Charles is determined to find Hamunaptra and rescue this strange yet magnetic man. He makes a deal with Warden Sean Cassidy to bring him along to Hamunaptra, and Erik is cut down much to Charles’ surprising relief.
They board a boat and Charles sees Erik all cleaned up, his attraction to the man growing more. Once on the boat Raven dives into a game of poker with a team also looking for Hamunaptra, comprised of Alex Summers, Dr. Henry McCoy, Dr. Moira MacTaggert, and Angel Salvador. The team is lead by Janos/Shaw, an old scoundrel associate of Erik’s.
Charles retreats to a quiet area of the boat to read but is soon interrupted by Erik. They get into a friendly conversation but Charles storms off when Erik brushes away the abrupt kiss they shared in Cairo. Erik is confused, but gets distracted when he finds Janos/Shaw hiding behind cargo. They share a brisk conversation which ends with Erik throwing Janos overboard.
Charles returns to his room only to be confronted by a man of the Madej looking for the map and key. Erik had heard Charles’ scream and bursts into the room, helping Charles make an escape and knocking over a lamp which starts a fire. The two continue fend off the Madej as fire spreads on the boat. Erik throws himself and Charles off the boat.
Raven finds the Americans having a riot fight and makes it off the boat, joining up with Erik, Charles, and Sean. The four come to a merchant camp where they buy camels and reset to continue their journey.
As they travel, Charles and Erik bond. No matter how much they may deny it, both are attracted to the other, though neither make a move. Raven can feel the tension growing between them but keeps her comments to herself.
On their journey they reencounter the American team and begin a race to Hamunaptra. Far up ahead, Charles and Erik reach it first with the cheers of Raven behind them. Charles, Erik, Raven, and Sean begin their excavations and ignore the Americans who are determined to stay. Erik rather awkward gives Charles a set of tools, which Charles finds more endearing than he should have.
The four make it into the ruins of Hamunaptra. They once again run into the Americans, holding in a standoff until Charles breaks them apart. Charles leads his team deeper into the ruins but loose Sean to his curiosity in the process. Sean finds gems of beetles and begins to take them, only to find they were alive.
Charles and Erik are sitting in a tomb as Raven knocks stones against the wall in boredom. One of the stones hit something and a sarcophagus drops from the ceiling. Sean soon comes running in, screaming as the beetles eats his innards and is killed.
Charles, Erik, and Raven return to the surface for the night. The Madej attack their camps, but leave with warnings when Erik threatens a bomb. Moving on instinct, Erik immediately finds Charles and checks for injuries, only to be confronted by the Americans who ask to join forces for the night. They agree and share a few rounds of drinks.
The others fall asleep, but Erik and a very drunk Charles stay up taking. Charles ends up nearly sharing a genuine kiss with Erik but passes out drunk before he can.
The next day, the Americans find a curse chest and open against warnings. Inside it is the book of the dead. Meanwhile Charles, Erik, and Raven open the sarcophagus they found, surprised when the mummy inside is still decomposing.
Charles’s team and the Americans gather again for the night. Once asleep, Charles steals the book of the dead from Dr. MacTaggert and Erik catches him. They open and read the book, which revives the mummy (Imhotep) and brings upon the ten plagues. Charles, Erik, Raven, and the Americans flee Hampunaptra. As they flee, Charles is separated from his group and comes face to face with Imhotep, but is rescued by Erik. The Madej arrive, furious, and return a tongue-less, eye-less Dr. McCoy to the Americans. Janos/Shaw is left behind and ends up serving Imhotep.
Charles’ team and the Americans come to Fort Brydon. Charles and Erik get into an argument about what to do. Charles wants to solve this, while Erik wants to leave. While at Fort Brydon, Imhotep attacks them but is scared off by a cat. Charles, Erik, Raven, Angel, and Alex go to the Museum of Antiques where they talk to Dr. Marko and one of the Madej, Azazel/Logan. The five return to the hotel. Erik ends up locking Charles in his room as he and Raven go to find Janos/Shaw.
Alex and Angel are left behind only for Angel to be killed by Imhotep, who finds and kisses Charles. Erik and Raven burst in with a cat, scaring him off. Charles, Erik, Raven, and Alex return to Dr. Marko and Azazel/Logan. They find where the book of Amunra is and attempt an escape, loosing Alex. The group is apprehended by Imhotep and his followers. Charles agrees to go with Imhotep, leaving behind a furious Erik.
Erik, Raven, and Azazel/Logan escape, and find a pilot willing to take them to Hamunaptra. Seeing them in the sky, Imhotep sends a sandune their way and crashes them. Charles distracts Imhotep with a kiss to keep him from killing his friends.
Erik, Raven, and Azazel/Logan make it into Hamunaptra, fighting off mummies to get to Charles as he’s prepared as sacrifice. Erik and Raven get the book of Amunra, and Azazel/Logan gives them time to escape. They get to Charles just before he’s killed. While Imhotep is distracted by Raven, Erik frees Charles. Raven, with the book of Amunra, summons an army of mummies. Erik is left to fight them as Charles battles a mummified Anck Su Namun. Raven manages to control to the mummies and orders them to kill Anck Su Namun.
Erik and Imhotep battle as Charles and Raven read from the book of Amunra. Imhotep is made mortal and dies by the hands of Erik. Once Imhotep is dead the ruins begin to fill with sand. Charles, Erik, and Raven manage to escape though Janos/Shaw dies in the ruins. The three are reunited with Azazel/Logan.
Filled with relief and still alive, Erik and Charles finally share a kiss, ignoring Raven’s fake gagging. After making sure they’re settled, the three ride off into the sunset, back to Cairo.
(Bonus points if the Mummy Returns is cherikifed too with a young Peter Maximoff as Alex O’Connell)

I wrote a thing for “The Mummy” (cause I’ve been on a Mummy kick lately...except for the Tom Cruise one...cause I hate Tom Cruise.)
What if Imhotep doesn't die at the end of "The Mummy Returns"? What if, for some very odd reason under the guise of "doing the right thing because who the hell wants to die like that?" Rick saves Imhotep from dying at the hands of the souls of the Underworld? What if Anck-Su-Namun doesn't get devoured by ravenous scorpions? What if this was ABO?
Pretty much: Rick saves Imhotep and it wholly backfires on him.
Rated for Mature Themes, Language, and canon typical violence.

I’m glad to be providing feels fodder! Do you have any thoughts on Anck’s or Imhotep’s pasts? (Lots of question marks ahead) The film uses the title of ‘mistress’ which is completely nonsensical, so was Anck a concubine or a secondary wife? If she was a concubine, was she a slave or simply from a non-noble background? It is stated that she was born in Thebes, so was she born into slavery? If she was free, was her family willing to give her over? Was she willing? (not that it would matter bc they could hardly refuse a pharaoh but it would say something about innate vs environmental ambition) did her family get anything from the match? Were they snubbed? If so, why? (I see two reasons - either they were too lowborn plus their daughter was only a concubine; or, possibly, her family were Amun priests (somewhere at the bottom of the hierarchy), and his cult and followers were getting particularly powerful at the time, so could it be potentially a veiled threat from the pharaoh?) what were Anck’s relationships to other women in the palace? Did she try and exert some kind of political influence and did she succeed? Did she have any children?… Imhotep: how did he end up a high priest so young? Arnold Vosloo was 37 during filming and I’d age him down by 3-4 years, but even without that it’s still very young for a high priest at the time. The position of a high priest was usually inherited, and we have a list of high priests of Osiris for the reigns of Seti I and Ramses II (yes I’m that kind of nerd) so I guess in this alternate history timeline something has befallen the heir and the next in line was too young to take his place? So the pharaoh appoints Imhotep as temporary replacement - who was he before that? Was he close enough to the pharaoh to get himself appointed or was there another reason? Was there a grudge between him and his precessor’s family? Was he married or widowed or divorced? How come he knows the resurrection ritual which was basically blasphemy? What was the fallout after Seti’s murder? (I mean, the high priest, pharaoh’s trusted advisor betraying and murdering him) (this is how we end in the not-alternate timeline where his and Anck’s names were wiped from the records and his years as high priest were assigned to the one before him) Anyway I’m very sorry for rambling, but if you’re not against it I have even more in store
don’t apologize! I love it! yes please keep talking to me! I’m dealing with some health stuff rn so I’m not always up for long responses but gosh I LOVE reading your thoughts and theories??
I got the impression based on TMR that Anck su namun was a concubine that was becoming a higher ranking wife maybe? based on her interactions with ppl, as limited as they are, I always felt she didn’t go out of her way to be hostile or catty, but was very guarded and would go there easily if provoked.
also bless you and your nerdiness! I love Ancient Egyptian history and mythology but past few years I’ve forgotten a lot of it so you going into all these details is great! I might have to pull out some documentaries or books soon. XD

The Light Of Days...
Tumblr media
Summary: Part 1 to a series. This is a crossover between The Mummy (1999) and a bit of Once Upon a Time although it's mentioned and only appears at the beginning and end of the series. This is an Ardeth Bay x Oc. I'll explain my Oc at the end. Also, not my gif.
Warnings: Slight angst
Alana POV
I looked at the papers before me that I had collected from Regina. She was a bit concerned about the whole thing but, it had to be done. I can't get in the way even if I still loved my soon to be ex husband. With a heavy heart, I put the papers on the table that my husband was sat at, polishing an antique. He looked at my solemn face then at the documents. "What's this?" he asked, putting down the artefact and picking up the papers. He froze when he saw what it meant.
"Divorce papers. I'll need your signature. I've already signed it," I muttered. His dark brown eyes looked into my amber ones. "W-Why?" Rumple asked, standing up. "It's not because of anything you did. I see the way you look at Belle and her in return. We loved each other once, long ago but, that passion and love is elsewhere. You've found that in her and I can't blame you. We may be a balance, my love but, I cannot deny this feeling. You are meant to be with her, not with me," I explained, taking my wedding band and engagement ring off and putting it on the desk. "I'm sorry," Rumplestiltskin whispered after I turned my back to walk away. "I forgive you. Treat her well, Rumple. For I know true love when I see it. She shall repair your heart and fix your struggles. She is the light you have been looking for. Goodbye," I said, trying not to show my sadness in my tone before walking out of the shop.
I went to my house and got changed into my uniform, putting my dagger in its holster upon my thigh and writing a letter to Emma, saying that I was leaving and if she was in need of my services, she merely speak the incantation to summon me. Teleporting to the roof of the clocktower, I observed the town of Storybrooke, taking mental pictures and remembering the good times of my stay. But now, it'll be best if I leave and let them find their own way.
Without thinking, I teleported myself, wanting to be far away. What do I get for not thinking of a location? A face full of sand. Pulling myself up, I vigorously wiped my face to get the sand out of my eyes and mouth. Once I could see, I opened my eyes. Okay, pyramids in the distance. I'm in Egypt. But, these should be ruins. Why do they look brand new? There was shouting so I quickly rose to my feet to see people wearing ancient clothing. Hang on............. did I time travel?! A man with an intense gaze walked up to me. Seeing the scimitar in his hand, I decided not to let him close to me. Throwing my hand back, I threw him backwards, sending him into the ground, sprawled out. That's when archers decided to get a bit brave and sent arrows flying my way.
Growling, I decided to shapeshift into a dragon. I roared loudly as the citizens and guards below whispered and gasped. Then, they all got down on their knees and bowed before me. That was different................
*****
So, this woman is called Alana Hanlon. Her last name means light. She was a young kind woman in a village. Her soul was pure and no darkness could ever enter her heart. Her mother died because of a disease and she was raised by her father.
However, she got the very same disease and no matter how hard her father tried, he couldn't save her. So, her father made a deal with the Dark One. As long as she lived, she couldn't go back to see her father nor her village.
She became the Light One with advanced magic and the ability to control the elements and shapeshift. However, she can't see the future like Rumplestiltskin. Over time, the two fell in love with each other and got married after the curse had been broken but ever since Belle turned up, Alana saw that her husband's love was with her. Not wanting to get in the way of true love, she broke up with him. Hope you enjoy. I may be a bit slow on updates.

#56 "don't you dare die on me" Darcy/Imhotep.
A/N: this is also for @phoenix-173, you know what you did.
“I do not intend to die,” Imhotep said, one hand cupping her cheek.
“If you go out there, you’re going to die.”
“If I stay, you will die.”
“So we’re fucked either way, great,” Darcy said, laughing mirthlessly.
“Death is only a beginning for us, my love.  Have we not proven that over and over, these past few lifetimes?”
“I just-” she looked down, swallowing back tears.  “I was happy - we were happy.  This is-”
He leaned down to press his forehead to hers, staring at her intently.  “I have known enough joy these last months to balance the torment of the past few millennia.  If the price for such happiness is death, I will pay it.  If I can take this Mad Titan to meet his Mistress, I will.”  He smiled slyly, “I do not think he will enjoy her attentions.”
“You’re not funny,” she said.  The first few tears slipped down her cheeks.  “I don’t want you to go.  Please.  Don’t go.”
“Your friends need time to ready their weapon.  I can give it to them.”
“I don’t want to lose you!”
“Beloved, you will never lose me.  I will always find my way back to you, in time.”  He broke away, looking at something behind her and giving a brief nod.  Immediately, she felt hands grasping her shoulders, holding her tightly to prevent her doing the same to Imhotep.
“No!  Please!”
He dodged her grasping hands, pressed one last kiss to her crown, and stepped back.  “Until our next life, Beloved,” he said, eyes full of love, and then he was gone.
Darcy sank back into Jane’s embrace, too stricken for even tears.  In our next life, he’d said.  What about the life they had now, the life they’d created?  Her hand strayed down to her stomach and pressed.  If she’d told him, he might have stayed… no, if she told him, he would have left even more quickly.
For her.
For them.
She curled into a ball then and wept, cursing gods old and new.

Mummy
Flufftober 29 - Loki x Reader
I'll be honest, I was not really inspired by this theme, I did my best, and hope you all will like it !
Tumblr media
There were certainly more frightening movies than that.
Loki was sure of it. He'd lived surrounded by Midgardians long enough to know they were capable of the worst and the best, and the movies they'd been watching since the start of the night just weren't up to par. He hadn't jumped once.
There were classics, according to  Y/N, who was certainly the best of mankind. It probably was the reason why they didn't watch real horror movies.
Loki didn't care. He wasn't really looking at the screen, focused on his darling. It was a lot more fun watching her reactions.
After Dracula, a story about Werewolf, Halloween, and The Omen, it was the turn of the Mummy.
"But not the first movie. It's too old. I picked the one with Brendan Fraser. I… I don't know if you can really call it scary."
"Rest assured, darling, none of the previous films were scary."
"Yeah. I was a little scared when I was little, but it's mostly funny now."
Obviously, as with fear, they didn't have the same definition of humour, but that was okay. Again, the only thing that mattered to Loki was spending time with Y/N, sharing things that she loved, having her in his arms and feeling that she was happy.
If he had to watch lousy movies for that, then so be it.
Although he was not at all impressed by the mummy scenes, he had seen real mummies before, the story intrigued him a bit.
"If I understood correctly... All of this is the fault of the Pharaoh and his priests."
"What ?" Y/N asked, turning to him.
“It was their curse that gave Imhotep his powers and his desire to take over the world. But before that, he just wanted to be with the woman he loved. Nothing else. A woman who loved him too, who had to be with this old pharaoh, who was really stupid. How can he say that someone touched her because part of the paint on her body is erased ? She has no right to scratch her own arm ?"
His remarks made Y/N laugh, the most beautiful sound in the world, but she didn't add anything right away, concentrating on the movie again, until the final scene.
"You know... I don't know if Imhotep was really in love."
"It seems obvious to me that he was crazy about his Anck-su-namun. He was ready to do anything for her."
"Yes, but even if he has the excuse of the sight problem, he still decides to take another woman, even though he knows very well that it is not her. Okay, he is going to sacrifice her, to get her body, but then that's kind of the only thing that matters, beauty ! He finds her so-called true reincarnation, but it looks like he could put her soul in any body and yet he doesn't choose the ugliest woman !"
"Hmm. I see what you mean. But, imagine, you would rather I find you a body that looks like the one you had before, or you won't mind if I take the first one you have to live in. For  all eternity ? Because, personally I don't care, I would put you in Stark's body if I have to, and I would still love you just as much. Even if that would be terribly weird."
Laughing again, she gently slapped him on the chest, telling him that he was adorably stupid and that she couldn't believe he had been thinking about this scenario.
Of course he had thought about it. Loki thought every day when he risked losing Y/N. It seemed inevitable, since they weren't immortal. He would live a few more years, but he too would die in the end. Like Frigga and Odin. He hadn't been prepared for their loss, and even remembering that his darling would have to go, he still cried in secret when he imagined the moment.
If he found a way to bring her back, he wouldn't hesitate.
Although he would prefer that she live as long as him. It must have been painful to die and then be brought back to life. Maybe Y/N wouldn't want it either, and she wouldn't be happy if he put her through this, because he was too weak and selfish and in love to live without her.
"Would you do all of this for me ?" she whispered as the credits scrolled across the screen.
"Of course. If you want to. Otherwise, I'll avenge you and then join you in death."
"I don't want you to die because of me."
"Alright, then I'll sacrifice Stark or whoever comes first, that's noted." Loki said with a small smile, anticipating the new little knock on his chest, then her charming laugh.
"Weren't you scared at all then ?"
Oh, sweet, beautiful Y/N. Loki stared at her, stroking her cheek.
He could have pretended to be afraid in front of these ridiculous films to please her, but that would have been a form of lie, and he had sworn never to lie to her.
His greatest fear was losing her. Not just because of death, but that one day she wouldn't love him anymore, realising that he was not good enough for her, a loathsome monster and she would leave.
But Y/N knew everything about him, even his darkest secrets, and she was always there.
Like Imhotep, who ran with Anck-su-namun. If he had only loved her for her beauty, he would have simply taken another woman, even if she could never be as magnificent. Beautiful things always ended up fading, then mummifying or falling into dust.
Not their love.
And it was the same with Y/N. Even if he couldn't find a way to make her as durable as he was, he would stay with her as she got older, and he would still love her. He would hold her in his arms until the end.
Because it wasn't her body that mattered. If he met her doppelganger after her death, it wouldn't be her, and then he wouldn't love this person. He would undoubtedly suffer a lot to see her ghost.
As if reading his thoughts, Y/N kissed him, bringing him back to the present.
"I love you Loki. Don't worry."
           "Yes darling."
"I'll put on Hocus Pocus. It's a much lighter movie. Then we'll go to sleep."
"Yes darling." he repeated, ready to do whatever she wanted, as long as she did it with him.
