Time Travel is my favourite trope and I think we need more fics where both Obi-Wan AND Qui-Gon time travel together because no matter when they get sent it's chaos. They're saving the galaxy and being physic flash-bangs to everyone around them.
like before Bandomeer?
The entire council is baffled to watch as Qui-Gon 'never taking a padawan again' Jinn has suddenly cut off his post-Xanatos depression tour to return to the temple and beeline to the creche with a frantic energy. His wild eyes immediately single out a fluffy, red-haired initiate.
"You." he exhales with a pointed finger, slightly ominous as he towers over the child. Said child starts vibrating with delight. "Me." he agrees, launching himself at the man. Qui-Gon drops to his knees with a thud that cannot be healthy. Obi-Wan's attempts to clamber into Qui-Gon's robes and maybe onto his shoulders is thwarted by the fact that Qui-Gon's massive hands are cupping Obi-Wan's tiny squishy cheeks. He stares at the initiate for a few minutes with an intensity that is starting to worry people.
Finally, "You're so small." Qui-Gon sounds like he might cry.
'What the fuck?' Plo Koon projects at Mace.
"I'm 9! That tends to be the case!" the child chirps back.
"You're nine." Oh. Ah. Qui-Gon's eyes are distinctively misty. He squishes the boy in a hug so hard he squeaks. Mace makes a series of gestures that imply the need for a head-scan. Depa obligingly drifts off towards the halls. Qui-Gon scoops the child up onto his hip and claims him as his padawan on the spot. The assorted council members and creche-masters burst into noise. Mace tells Depa to bring some space ibuprofen as well.
after Naboo?
Anakin is a little apprehensive of his place in both the order and Obi-Wan's life, but then one day Obi-Wan wakes up and is suddenly a lot less sad in the force?? In fact, if Anakin didn't know better he'd say he was almost giddy, but he's watched Obi-Wan try to pretend his world hasn't fallen apart for the past few months so it can't be that, right? And um, Miss Bant? He knows grief is a funny thing that affects people differently but he's pretty sure 'massive mood swing' and 'having full conversations with invisible people' is not...great? and you said to tell you if Obi-Wan got really weird in any way.
Anyway after a lot of medical exams, intense consultation with the archives, and a couple exorcisms, Anakin ends up being raised by his 'real' master and his ghost master. He is far more well adjusted emotionally and far less well adjusted for what counts as normal people behavior(not talking to thin air). When questioned on this, all he ever says is that he's talking to Qui-Gon. Isn't he...dead? Well, yes. Wait, he's a ghost? Ghosts are real? ...Well this ghost is real.
This starts a great number of existential crises among non-force sensitives and incredibly heated theological arguments amongst the Jedi. Whenever Obi-Wan is questioned on this, all he ever says is some variation of "the force got to know him for 5 seconds and kicked him back out." Mace backs him up on this even though that reasoning is technically blasphemous. Qui-Gon is having the time of his un-life. He's ascended to his final form, his sheer existence is a heresy, this is truly all he has ever aspired towards.
the Clone Wars?
The minute they get dropped back Qui-Gon immediately goes and haunts the shit out of Dooku. They have a signed terms of surrender and promise of info on the Sith Lord within the year. Only half of it is because Qui-Gon's giving Dooku complexes that are only perceptible to shrimp, the other half is because they now have a ghost spy that is not bound by the laws of physics nor spacetime.
Obi-Wan only nominally pays attention to this as he immediately goes and implements his 19 step seduction plan with Cody (he had to focus on something on Tatooine to pass the time). It fails. Spectacularly. Publicly. Ah right. Tatooine was not exactly the height of his sanity. Everyone in the GAR and temple is now riveted by High General and Councilor Obi-Wan Kenobi's attempts to go on a date with his Commander, who bats him away him like a particularly annoying stray and seems one bouquet of cactus away from committing mutiny. Anakin is worrying if it means his master knows about his secret marriage and this is some sort of really weird power play. (It is, but not in the way he thinks)
The next time Dooku goes after Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon spends a good few months appearing tear-stained at the edge of Dooku's perception and only communicating in terrible wails and discordant mutterings of 'padawan. my padawan. my little one.' 24/7.
"Wait, you're annoying Dooku into surrendering?"
"Oh no Anakin, we're crushing his psyche like a bug. :)"

So for the wip game u posted how about Rako Hardeen w/ Force-Sensitive!Cody 👀👀👀👀👀
Hi thank you so much for the ask! <3
Essentially it's a Rako Hardeen fic where Cody just. Refuses to believe Obi-Wan is dead and refuses to act as if he is. Partially because he just cannot believe that Obi-Wan could actually be taken out by some random bounty hunter, but also he just has this unshakable gut feeling that he can't fully explain or put into words, and swears that he can still feel Obi-Wan alive somehow... ;)
But his vode are worried, as it's not like Cody to be in such vehement denial over something like this.
Here's a little snippet of my medic OC Scabs discussing with Cody
“You’re implying they faked his death. What reason would they have to do that?” Cody shakes his head, and shrugs. He’s still staring at the damned wall. “There've been times when this war has made less sense than that, Scabs. I’ve believed more outrageous things with less intel.” Scabs sighs, and frowns. He absolutely hates arguing with any of his vode, but with the way Cody has been acting, so unlike his usual self… Scabs just wants to understand. “What about Skywalker? Kix told me he’s been a mess since the funeral. Wouldn’t he have been able to tell if Kenobi was still alive?” Cody finally meets his eyes, fixing him with a steely gaze, one that Scabs has seen used against unruly shinies countless times. It doesn’t have the same effect against Scabs, no— instead that cold, hard, ache in Cody’s eyes leaves Scabs feeling pained for a much different reason. “I think that Skywalker is too often blinded by his own arrogance and rage to consider the bigger picture.”

“Why did you kill the Chancellor?”
He deserved it. He had to.
“Why did you have to?”
The Chancellor looked like a kind old man until he didn’t and Fox was spitting blood onto the plush red carpeting in his office. The Chancellor did not care about the Guard. The Chancellor didn’t care if they died or starved or were killed; worse than that, the Chancellor wanted them to suffer. He never said it, but Fox saw it in his eyes. He hated them.
Fox hated him.
He’ll say it this time: the Chancellor deserved to die.
“...Okay. This is all very important information, Commander Fox. Thank you.”
Commander Fox assassinates Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. The war ends. After that, all that's left to do is recover.

Palpatine: If only you were force sensitive
PA: *choosing not to unpack that* Well I’d be a terrible Jedi—
Yuu's basically like, "If I ignore this hard enough, I can pretend that he didn't just imply that he's a force user, right? Right?"
"Is there a reason you're so sullen, little bird?" Fox asks as Yuu props their feet up on his desk, "You're usually much more bubbly than this." "Shh. I'm trying to turn red flags into any other color." Yuu replies, as they squeeze their eyes shut. "He did not say anything concerning. He was making a joke. Everything is fine." "Hm. Yuu, Little Bird, is there perhaps something you want to discuss?" Fox asks. "No. No I do not. Because if I don't acknowledge it than it didn't happen." "That's not how anything works, little bird." "It has to be how it works because if it's not then I'm probably going to jail." They hiss. "...what?" "Don't worry about it." "Uh...no. You can't say stuff like that and expect me not to worry. What happened?" "Palpatine said something...no, wait, Palpatine didn't say something concerning. At all." "Cyare." They break, "He said something about me being a good apprentice if only I was force sensitive." "...But...he's not a jed-..." Fox trails off, "Jedi don't call their apprentices apprentice, do they?" Yuu releases a heavily distressed noise from where they're perched on his lap. "Right. Right. I need to comm Cody." He wraps his arms firmly around them, "It was probably just a bad joke." "Yeah. Probably." "Because if not we're both going to jail." "Wait, why are you going to jail?" "Because I'm going to shoot Palpatine, that's why."

Fanwork creators self rec! When you get this, reply with your five favorite fics/art/podfics/etc. that you've made, then pass on to others. Let’s spread the self-love 🌼
From @anstarwar :}
Sorry to say, I don't really have five things to my name that are public. As you're aware, I've got a massive fic I'm working on that kind of has... slowed down my progression for churning out numerous pieces. Hopefully, it will be worth it—to someone.
The only thing I do have:
1. Aay'han—Mournful celebration: How ARC Troopers saved the galaxy
Rating: PG-13 Warning: Canon-typical deaths, just a tad prematurely. Tags: Jedi Order survives, Order 66 Happens Differently, Jedi meta, Clone meta, Force-sensitive Clones, GNC Clones Summary: Advanced Recon Commandos were the most, and the least, like Jango Fett. Prized for the very traits that also made Sidious so wary of them: their unpredictability, their independence, their intelligence— They were also… much more trained and diverse than their genetic Prime. This close to the conclusion of the thousand-year revenge of the Sith, he knew to keep track of them, particularly the Alpha-class Clones hidden among the regs. From far, far away, across their galaxy… they had come, and they had gathered. They had defended the Jedi Order, kept the Republic from its fall, and stopped the rise of an Empire. When it was over, they grieved similar to how they celebrated; they lived each day, for they knew they’d someday die. If Obi-Wan ever tried to explain to someone how a moment would be mournful & celebratory; the definition of aay'han—this was it.
What is this?
So, a modified Post-Order66 fic. It was a fic for a holiday exchange—caution being in exchanges with me, it might be excessive—intended to be based on some headcanons and crack ideas. Instead, it became massive and derived from a speculative thought I had. What if the ARC were the ones to save the day? Not a single one, but our skirted terrors. They were, after all, the only Clones who made Sidious a little... nervous.
Just the one?
However, I'll list four additional "don't count" things I've done that are on my tumblr. They are typically AUs or meta content I've written, but snippets and previews of public things to come. Warnings for typos, POV swapping, and just all around hot-mess of things because I didn't intend for them to become a thing. Yet, here they are.
2. Sometimes, you have to let go.
Part of my Little Troopers AU. It features Waxer & Boil being adopted by Numa's family, and Cody struggling with it.
3. Sons of the ocean.
Part of my Rexx AU, which WILL be published. This little snippet comes from a glimpse into their best. Features a gift art by the lovely @ninjigma. It depicts baby Sixty-seven (Rex) and Tintin (Fox) floating on water, holding their ickle hands like sea otters. (Read that in Ewan McGregor's voice, please.)
4. They're only babies.
Another one from my Little Troopers AU. This is from Obi-Wan's POV, when they are trying to track down all the regressed Clones on the Negotiator. Just so you know, he's absolutely NOT on the verge of a sobbing breakdown because there are TINY BABIES on a warship, and they've found in the worst places. Also, where's Cody. He isn't ready to gnaw on things until a specific Clone is found because, that found be favoritism, and that... implies attachment. Nope. Abso—Where's Cody?! SoMEONE FIND HIM CODY.

TCW Rewatch: Season 2 Episodes 1-4
Finally made it to Season 2 i would say might stop posting these daily but that implies I had a schedule at all.
Im almost caught up to where I actually am in the series so itll definitely slow down then. In the meantime enjoy this while I dread uploading the Mandalore episodes
Episode 1: Holocron Heist
* The jedi are forced to retreat from battle on Felucia
* Ahsoka wants to stay and fight but Obi Wan and Anakin are retreating with their men
* “Master Skywalker taught me never to let up when the tinnies are on the run” baby thats a warcrime
* “You’re putting your troops’ lives in danger” we love when the jedi care deeply about the lives of their men
* Also disappointed dad obi wan
* She does not enjoy following orders, its arrogance
* Ahsoka gets benched
* Are non jedi allowed in the archives? Bc otherwise that sounds suspicious if its the largest collection of knowledge in the galaxy
* Only the jedi council is allowed access to the holocrons makes sense
* Palps recruiting Cad Bane to steal a holocron
* I love Cad Bane and Todo’s dynamic
* That’s unfortunate
* Oh… Bane’s job is to get the list of force-sensitive kids
* I still dont understand how that works and im a HUGE fallen order fan, like does the list update itself or does it know who will and wont be jedi when theyre born? Is it the same list as Cal’s? This also brings forth the questionable ethics of the jedi taking in children. I do understand why the Sith are after the list and especially Palps and his ultimate goal
Episode 2: Cargo of Doom
* Bane has captured Bolla Ropal and has the memory crystal with the list of children
* Ropal is dead
* Bane escapes with the holocron and crystal?
Episode 3: Children of the Force
* With the list of children Bane could inflict devastating damage
* So they can detect the children theough the force
* “Among the children of the jedi there are no innocents” Bitch what??? Theyre children???
* They were really going to just abandon saving the one baby because of uncertainty??? Let windu save a baby
* Bane disguising as jedi to steal children is so fucked up ironic
* Also the mother saying that she had more time with her child before he went to the jedi is interesting. What is the process of inducting the younglings? Theyre collected young enough to not form attachments to their parents but also have some time allotted before going to the temple.
* The forcing out the information with the force is surely frowned upon especially knowing his mind could be fucking destroyed
* Thats like torture right? Is torture a warcrime?
* It is
* Is he willfully complying now? Or is he leading them further away?
* Old man palps is grooming again
* He wants to raise them as force sensitive spies
* Cody crumbs!!
* Bane escapes bc ofc he does
* Palps wants to destroy the evidence of his plans, i see where ani gets the babykilling
* Babies are saved
Episode 4: Senate Spy
* The Jedi suspect Rush Clovis is conspiring with the Separatists
* Is this THE toxic anakin episode? Oh god
* Aw it starts off kinda sweet with anidala cant wait to watch this end poorly
* Padme refuses to spy on clovis for the jedi
* Ok so hes from the banking delegation thats why he’s suspicious makes sense if that is connected to the banking clan
* They want ani to convince padme to spy
* Ok so padme is also kinda toxic here like rightfully disappointed but didn’t she do the same thing to him about duty coming first? And he at least tried to make a romantic gesture bringing home dinner
* Obi wans expression after the “they were… good friends” “I… didn’t know that” exchange
* He so knows
* They are asking him to weaponize his relationship with her thats bleak
* Shes still hostile toward him for putting his job first when she does the same
* Ani’s getting jealous
* This has become way less politics and way more gossiping about anidalas relationship problems lmao
* She really missed the big IF in that sentence immediately assuming he absolutely is conspiring?
* God theyre both so toxic no wonder things ended… like that
* Shes being so spiteful when Anakin just wants her safe? Bc hes seeing the horrors of war first hand constantly
* This episode is rough as a padme fan
* Clovis is a weirdo with those unsolicited advances like bro shes cowaring
* So he is conspiring thats not surprising
* Another assassination attempt? These never work when will they learn
* Padme finds the evidence
* The password was her name that loser
* Tactical coordinates for a droid foundry given to R2
* Clovis is helping them escape
* Not questioning whether or not it was actually the antidote is wild to me like he really just injected it and hoped for the best? Is this another trust in the force thing? YOu couldve killed your wife man

Prompt where the 212 gets together to paint Obi-Wan’s armor so he would wear it more but at some point our fool gets captured and his captor wears the armor to piss Kenobi off so when the 212 comes in Cody goes absolutely feral when he sees someone else where his general’s armor and Kenobi gets absolutely railed by Cody after.
(i don’t do smut, but i love this idea so so much, i really don’t know why i haven’t come across more painted armour Obi stuff, and y’all have probably realised i’m all about Obi angst, sooo this one was a lot of fun. thank you so much for prompting, lovely! threw in some headcanon mandalorian family and courting culture just for you)
Jedi were not made to wear armour, they were not soldiers, at least not before. Cody knows his general picked up clone culture better than most, from the little bits of Mando’a to the importance of Vode An, and he should perhaps be thankful that General Kenobi wears any armour at all, but what good are simple pauldrons and vambraces when Kenobi throws himself against hundreds of clankers without backup on a weekly basis?
It’s Wupi that suggests it, drunk on Waxer’s rotgut and going grey with how often he has to patch up their general after missions. Boil is mostly amused by Kenobi’s apparent death wish, but he isn’t like their medic, or Cody: he doesn't have to deal with the fallout when Kenobi comes back to the Negotiator so much worse off than his men.
“Why don’t we give him one o’ yours armours?” Wupi had slurred, half out of his blacks and staring into his cup like it would relieve him of his duty. “S’General’s too nice to lose someone else’s.”
Wooley had jerked his attention from his own cup and stared at Cody because that... that wasn’t a bad idea.
And because Wupi is too hungover the next day to do anything about it himself, it’s Wooley that starts the task of finding and retrofitting pieces of clone armour to fit their general (their “wonderfully tiny" general, as Wupi had put before passing out in his chair). It takes a few days, bouncing between three different quartermasters and Commander Tano for input on how to wear it over more traditional Jedi clothes, but Wooley finally amasses something close to a full set that they might convince Kenobi to wear, and then goes around giving each member of the Ghost Company a few pieces to paint.
Cody tries not to think about why Wooley gives him the chestplate. He tries really hard.
There’s something to be said about family giving each other armour, of course, Cody doesn’t think Wooley or Boil or Wupi or Waxer are trying to woo their general, and it shows in the pieces of armour they choose to paint, but the breastplate is... forward, when not given in a familial sense, and Cody can’t pretend that he is. Giving it in a familial sense. Kriff.
Ghost Company all sit together in the empty mess one night, Cody having strategically made sure their sleeping shifts line up, and they paint the pieces while drinking more of Waxer’s rotgut and pretending they don’t have a battle tomorrow that they might not win. Cody’s men paint each piece to match their own, so that Kenobi’s set is a mix of bits of each of them. They aren’t quite sure how it works for natborn Mandalorians, there were limits on what the Kaminoins let the Cuy’val Dar teach them, but this is as close as they can get to claiming Ken— Obi-Wan as one of the vode. The meaning won’t be lost on him.
Cody carefully paints his sun rays onto Obi-Wan’s chestplate, the orange crisp and shiny-bright, and he wonders if Obi-Wan knows the meaning of colours on beskar’gam. He seems to know a lot about Mandalorian culture that even the clones don’t, but Cody has never pushed to know more about why, not when it makes Obi-Wan clam up like that.
Boil finishes quickly, and just as quickly gets completely smashed to the point he’s singing the last raunchy jig they’d picked up planet-side, and it’s almost calming to see him so relaxed. Waxer smiles fondly at his brother and switches his cup for one of water instead, shaking his head at Wooley’s disapproving glare.
Cody waits until the others have gone to bed to ask for the medic’s steady hand, to help him stencil a beskar’ta right above the sternum. He isn’t sure if he’s ever seen another vode with a beskar’ta, and perhaps it’s a little presumptuous for Cody to give Obi-Wan one without discussing it with him first, but he can offer no greater protection to his general. The way Wupi doesn’t say anything when Cody carefully paints in the lines says more about his relationship with Obi-Wan than he’d really like to admit.
Cody isn’t there when Wooley presents the armour to him, but when Obi-Wan joins them in the hangar before descent planet-side, he wears every piece as if it were the regalia of some ancient royal, and not a cobbled-together attempt to keep him alive. The rest of the 212th hide their stares inside their buckets, and Obi-Wan still wears his outer robe over it all, but Ghost Company all preen at the sight of their general not only protected, but in their colour and crests.
Obi-Wan smiles at Cody as they load into the shuttles, tapping a closed fist over the beskar’ta in all-too-knowing thanks. So he knows at least the familial connotations, which doesn’t bode well for Cody’s half hope that that’s all he knows.
Crys claps Cody on the shoulder with an eyebrow wiggle, and Cody wishes Jango hadn’t taught them a damn thing.
-
Day three without water, even with the Force sustaining him, leaves Obi-Wan more than a little delirious. The Nikto bounty hunter that thought they could somehow convince Count Dooku that they’d captured the famed Negotiator grows increasingly agitated as the hours roll by, and Obi-Wan wishes he had better presence of mind to appreciate it.
They have him on his knees and strung up in chains like a barbarian, and stick him with a needle every three hours with some sort of Force suppressor that makes him even more incoherent — Obi-Wan is fairly sure they’re over-drugging him. Actually, perhaps the Force isn’t sustaining him properly; that would certainly explain a lot.
The morning of day four in the brig of a ship Obi-Wan can’t remember the make of, the Nikto starts picking through his removed armour, with scathing comments about the colour and fact that it had come from “cannon-fodder slaves that are better put-down than eating up the galaxy’s resources”, and oh, Obi-Wan wishes he could rend them limb from limb.
“A bastardisation of Mando armour, you know,” the Nikto grumbles, sending Obi-Wan a pitying look when all he can do is grunt angrily. “Look, this even has an iron heart; what poor kriffing fool told you you were allowed to wear such a mark?” Scoffing, the Nikto discards their cloak to slip on Obi-Wan’s chestplate; every last scrap of energy in Obi-Wan screams at the wrongness, and he jerks in his chains.
The Nikto startles and doesn’t get to fastening the sides as they stare at their prisoner. “You shouldn’t have any mobility left,” they say in part surprise, part anger, getting back to their feet to drag the small medical crate of suppressors back across the room. They kick it open and pull out an almost-empty vial, but don’t get to the needles before a proximity alarm goes off.
They drop the vial and grab the blaster from their hip, and barely get it up in time for the single door to explode inwards, Ghost Company forcing their way into the room before the smoke has even cleared. And Obi-Wan trusts his men, his family, with every Force-forsaken bit of him, which means he promptly passes out at the sight of them.
He doesn’t wake in safety, rather with a vibroblade pressed to his throat and a hand twisting cruelly in his hair. His vision is filled with white and orange and warmth, before his brain catches up to what he’s actually seeing, and he focuses on the blank helmets of his men. The suppressors in his system do nothing to hide the molten metal anger that leaks into the Force all around them, and Obi-Wan must look worse than he thought, if Cody’s hand is trembling on his blaster.
‘Easy,’ Obi-Wan whispers without moving his lips, Cody giving the smallest of jerks so Obi-Wan knows the message is received.
‘Sir?’ Cody shifts on his feet, the Nikto saying something from behind Obi-Wan that’s surely full of gloating and threat, but Cody’s helmet is tilted towards Obi-Wan, his presence fluttering in the Force like a lamp in the dark.
‘I’m not quite sure how you’re managing this,’ Obi-Wan admits, with half a thought to the cosmic implication of Cody giving him a beskar’ta, which has meaning even outside Mandalore, outside even the Force. ‘But my lovely captor is weak on their left side, an old injury, I think.’
‘He’s wearing your armour,’ Cody all but growls and raises his blaster properly, and the Nikto must sense the change as they nervously fumble the vibroblade and cut through the collar of Obi-Wan’s tunic.
And Obi-Wan is tired, he’s been in chains for four days with drugs he’s never encountered burning the ends of his nerves and cutting off an entire sense he has never been without, so he looks up until he meets Cody’s eyes squarely. ‘Then relieve them of it.’
  ‘With pleasure, sir.’
Mando’a: Vode An — "Brothers All" (a Mando’a war chant taught to the clones by Jango and the Cuy’val Dar)  Cuy’val Dar — “Those who no longer exist”, group of 75 Mando’ade and 25 others put together by Jango to train the clones beskar’gam — Armour made of beskar, “Mandalorian Iron” that was actually probably a steel alloy beskar’ta — “Iron heart”, the elongated hex-shape common in Mandalorian armour designs (great post here comparing them to katana tsuba). also called ka’rta beskar or “heart of the iron”

Please, Don't Go. - Chapter 16
Summary: Obi-Wan is coming back
W/C: 3.3k
Warnings: implied intimacy, angst
A/N: Good news! I'm back with this story. I've had this chapter written for a while, but I felt it was best to wait until I picked it back up before posting it. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy!

In the next weeks, Obi-Wan spent almost all of his nights with you and Aldoken. It provided your son with something to do when you had to focus on work before joining them.
There were a few days where you would be so backed up that Obi-Wan would put Aldoken to bed. He was a natural. You always knew when he would because the almost constant sounds of giggles died down, plunging the apartment into silence.
On those nights, Obi-Wan would wait before coming up behind you, resting his hands on your shoulders, and coax you into coming with him to bed. Many times, he would insist that you needed sleep. He would bend down and kiss your cheek and gently massage your shoulders until you finally gave in.
That’s why, when you hadn’t been visited by Obi-Wan after the rooms went silent, you were surprised that this routine had been changed. Now, you looked on as Obi-Wan was laying on the couch with Aldoken fast asleep on his stomach on top of Obi-Wan’s chest.
Your heart warmed at the sight as you leaned against the doorway. You didn’t want to ruin the scene, but you didn’t have to. Obi-Wan’s eyes slowly opened when he heard you take a few steps into the room.
“Decide to join the party?” he asked quietly in a teasing tone. Despite wanting to talk to you, he still made sure that he wouldn’t disturb Aldoken. Although it may have seemed like he was asleep, Obi-Wan was truly just laying there. Something was keeping him wide awake, and he didn’t know what.
Giving a light chuckle, you made your way over and knelt beside the couch. Aldoken had his clone doll hugged closely as the other hand was wrapping around his father as best as he could.
Bringing up a hand, you gently brushed away some hair from your son’s sleeping face. “I actually thought I was coming out here to tuck you both into bed,” you replied, moving your hand to place it on Obi-Wan’s shoulder.
He chuckled softly then gestured to the boy on his chest with his head. “Would you be able to help me?”
Nodding, you stood and gently lifted Aldoken just enough so that Obi-Wan could sit up. Once he did, he took care of the rest. You watched him bring Aldoken over to his room, and you were sure that he didn’t even stir the whole time.
While you had waited, you shifted from your crouch to sitting on the sofa. Obi-Wan joined you after softly closing Aldoken’s door behind him.
He sat close and you let your head fall against his shoulder.
“How come you hadn’t fallen asleep?”
The question was intended to be innocent, but, when you looked up at him, there was a serious expression across his face.
“Obi-Wan?” As you sat up and placed a palm to his cheek, he snapped back to the moment, slightly shaking his head.
“I’m sorry darling. What did you say?”
You frowned as he tried to play it off with a smirk. You moved so that you could face him, and he knew his façade wasn’t going to work. So, he let the fake smile drop.
“Is there something wrong?” you ask with genuine concern. Was there something that happened with the Sith Lord? But Obi-Wan had said that he wasn’t needed for anything; that he was on free rein and didn’t have to report to him for a while.
Obi-Wan knew that you were concerned about that, but it’s not what he was thinking about. He wasn’t thinking of anything that lay outside of this apartment. He was thinking of you and what you would say if he brought this topic up. Although he knew you wouldn’t push him away because of this, he still thought that you may not agree to it.
He shook his head, “No, nothing’s wrong.”
Looking down, this was the first time since coming back that he actually saw it. In the almost two months since he’s come back, he never saw how the necklace still wrapped around your neck. He wasn’t sure whether it was because you had always kept it hidden like before, or if you weren’t wearing it until now.
He let his fingers drift down until the kyber crystal was between his fingers. The familiar energy of his first crystal tingled the ends of his fingertips as they grazed along the surface. Obi-Wan wondered if you could feel any bit of the energy, even without being force sensitive.
“Have you always worn this? Even during…” he trailed off. He didn’t want to even mention it anymore. It brought on thoughts that his mind could no longer handle in a moment like this.
“Yes,” you say, comfortingly drawing your thumb in circles over his cheek bone. “Like I had said, I never stopped loving you, Obi.”
With that, he smiled. Maybe you wouldn’t laugh at what he wanted to do.
Carefully, he moved both of his hands close to the necklace’s clasp but stopped short. “May I?”
Since you had a feeling you knew what he was about to do, you nodded. The feeling of his hands at the back of your neck almost sent chills down your spine, but you suppressed them at the moment. There would be a time for that, and it wasn’t right now.
When he lifted it away and now held the pendant in his palm, he couldn’t help but feel certain in his next decision. He wanted to come back to you, and this felt like one of the final steps to putting the puzzle of his life back together.
Obi-Wan moved and kneeled on the ground in front of you. In one hand he held the necklace and the other held one of your hands.
As he looked down at the pendant, he smiled to himself. This necklace had meant so much more than anyone would have thought.
“Y/N,” he started. You had been watching him the entire time with anticipation only building as this went on. “I’ve always felt like I didn’t deserve you. I still don’t feel like I do,” he said, then moved his eyes to meet yours. “But I never let that stop me. I always strive to be what you deserve, and I haven’t met that in recent years. When you let me come back, I made it my priority once again. And now, here we are.”
The hand that held yours moved so that you would now rest your palm on top of the pendant. Making it now cupped between both your hand and his, like it was a promise. One he wouldn’t break as he used an item of the force to bring it to life.
“I don’t expect you to ever agree, but I still want to be in your life. I want to be in our life again. I also know that, in your heart, you never severed this promise. Still, I want to ask one more time in our new life to make sure that your answer is still the same.”
Keeping his eyes locked on yours, he took a deep breath. The build up has been killing you. You wanted to just scream out yes and kiss him like you never would again, but you knew he had to get this out.
Finally, he asked the question you’ve been wanting to hear, “Y/N, even after all of this, will you still marry me?”
“Yes,” you said in a breath.
Smiling, he once again put the necklace around your neck.
“I still hope to get you an actual ring one day,” he said quietly just as he clasped the pendant back. When he pulled back, you gave him a warm smile as you placed a hand to his cheek. His eyes shifted between both of your eyes before leaning in.
It didn’t take long before he was kissing you. There was an intensity behind it that you hadn’t experienced in so long. It was one you fully returned as you felt heat flood to your stomach.
You were so wrapped up in the feel of his lips against yours that you hadn’t noticed as he positioned himself to lift you from your seat. As he stood, you wrapped your arms around his neck as your legs went around his waist.
When you felt his arms around you, resting on your back, a longing filled you. It has been so long since you and Obi-Wan shared a moment like this. After you had found out you were pregnant, nothing had really happened after that. Obi-Wan was worried it would somehow hinder something in the pregnancy.
Now, you were swept up in it all. The feeling as his lips and tongue moved with yours, his body pressed up against yours as he walked to the bedroom, his hand, that wasn’t supporting you, exploring your back until he started to undo your dress.
Once he walked in the room and the door had closed, he stopped, slowly pulling away to look in your eyes.
“Is this alright?”
“Stars, yes,” you said before pulling his face back to yours. He didn’t waste much more time, and neither did you as a trail of clothing from the door to the bed was left in your wake. The feel of his skin against yours was a relief that you hadn’t known you needed.
Just like it had always been with Obi-Wan, he always made his love known. Everything he did, whether it was this moment or making you tea before you woke up, it all showed his love for you.
He always said that he didn’t deserve you, but you often thought about how you didn’t deserve him. In the end it didn’t matter. You had him back. He had you back. Most of all, the two of you loved each other.
-
“I have a favour to ask,” Obi-Wan suddenly said. The two of you had been reading your own books on datapads, you curled under his arm in bed, before this. You had noticed that he had lost focus at one point, but it had been normal. Usually, he had to plan an excuse for the Sith Lord just in case.
Looking up, he kept his eyes on the datapad, although it was unfocused.
“What is it?”
Obi-Wan took a deep breath. He’s been going over this for days after his reunion with Cody. It gave him hope that there would be more than his previous clone commander who would welcome him back.
For a moment longer, he contemplated asking you of this. There wasn’t much you would say no to, he knew that. It was the fact that it relied on another’s reaction. Along with that, thousands of other reactions after he made himself completely known.
Despite having worries, his head and heart agreed in every scenario that he conjured up. He needed help, more help, and that started with you.
“I was wondering if you could try and get Anakin here,” he finally replied while moving his eyes to yours. If you were being honest, you were surprised he hadn’t asked this sooner. With the moments leading up to this, you knew it was because he was scared. He was scared that his old padawan would reject his return.
With a smile, you nodded, “Of course, Obi. Why do you seem so hesitant?”
That was a question he was expecting. It was one that he went over a lot. There were so many different ways he could answer, but one always came out on top.
“I’m afraid he’ll ask why I didn’t go to him sooner.”
A wave of understanding came over you. Even though you knew what he meant, you also knew something he didn’t. Anakin was fine with it.
One day, you had received a long winded apology from Padmé saying that she had let something slip. Assuring her that it was alright, you went over and met with Anakin who was desperate to see Obi-Wan again.
“Anakin,” you said softly while gently holding him by his shoulders, “he needs time.”
“You said that he’s been back for almost three months-”
You cut him off by placing a hand on his cheek. Ever since he was still a small padawan, this was your way of telling him to quiet down and listen before assuming things.
“He has. But he’s still healing,” your continued your soft tone. It was another thing you did that would guarantee he would listen. “It took him nearly a month before he truly came back to me. Give him time, and he’ll decide when he’s ready. I know you miss him, but he needs to go at his own pace. He’ll come around.”
Anakin looked into your eyes with a sad but understanding expression. It was always hard for him to argue with you. Besides, you knew him in ways Anakin didn’t. Unlike you, he still saw his former master like a sort of hero. It kept his attention away from the finer details of Obi-Wan’s personality that you were an expert in.
Once Anakin nodded, you gave an affectionate squeeze to his shoulder before pulling him into an embrace.
“Trust me, I’ll let you know when he’s ready,” you whispered.
Anakin gave a small squeeze before separating himself from your hug. Giving you a smile, he had gone back to the temple.
Ever since that day, Anakin kept his promise. The only other person that knew Obi-Wan was back was Kenth. That interaction was one filled with relief, and one where Baize had accepted that he was wrong. It was anticlimactic, in a way.
Back in the current moment, you gave Obi-Wan a comforting smile. “It will be fine, my dear. He already knows you’ve come back.”
Seeing his shocked expression, you told him about the day filled with Padmé’s frantic messages until you went to talk to Anakin. You made sure to reassure him that his former padawan hadn’t said a word to anyone. The only time he said anything about it, it was with you and Padmé. He didn’t even know that Cody knew.
“So, he’s not mad?” Obi-Wan asked in the most innocent voice you had ever heard from him. It was a tone so mixed with relief, that you saw the storm of concern in his eyes wash away to the calming ocean they were.
“No. He understands. Anakin has been waiting patiently… Well, maybe not patiently, but the closest he can get.”
As you were hoping, that earned a laugh from Obi-Wan. It ended in a relief filled sigh.
“Now, let’s get some sleep. I’ll contact him in the morning and I’m certain he’ll get here right after so rest is recommended.”
Obi-Wan smiled as he looked down at you when you pulled the blanket up over your shoulders. “Alright, my love. Thank you.”
After this, the two of you situated yourselves so that you were comfortably wrapped up in the other. You found comfort in your usual spot against his chest and you used the sound of his heartbeat as a sort of lullaby.
This was what you were going to do, until you noticed that Obi-Wan still had some tension in his body. Sneaking a look at his face, his eyes were wide open and staring at the ceiling. His fingers had also found their way under your shirt and were tracing little circles on the skin of your back.
“There’s still something else that’s bothering you about the visit,” you state.
“Hm? Oh, no. I didn’t mean to disrupt you.”
You pushed yourself up so that you could hang over Obi-Wan, forcing his eyes to meet yours in the low light of the Coruscanti night.
“Obi-Wan, you should know by now that I know when you’re lying,” you said in a lightly teasing tone.
Although he gave a small smirk, it fell almost as quickly as it appeared. For a moment longer, he looked back up at the ceiling. You knew he was trying to put it all together in his mind, so you gave him the time he needed.
It was always interesting to see his thinking process. His furrowed brow that created the adorable little line in between them, the lines just visible at the corners of his eyes, the way his eyes squinted the slightest bit as his lips formed a thin line, sometimes pulled slightly down in the corners, it was all cute in a way. With it all, you knew when he was even just thinking lightly on something. It just wasn’t as intense of a look.
You couldn’t help but think that this was just his general look for when he was focused. It was softer depending on what he was focusing on. It was accompanied by a look of adoration whenever he would look down as he hung over you…
Those weren’t the thoughts to be having right now. At the current moment, there may be something that you should be worried about and he was about to tell you.
Obi-Wan sighed, “I want to ask him if he’ll help me take down Sidious.”
You couldn’t help but freeze. You knew that this moment would come, but you still weren’t expecting it.
“Are you alright?” He knew you were worried, but the change in your expression was enough for him to ask. Usually, you would keep a neutral expression, even after something that would gain immediate reactions from everyone else, until you had truly thought about it.
You went to nod, but you stopped yourself. If you were to say that you were thrilled that he was going to put a full end to this madness, you would be lying. There were so many things that added together to make the moment worrisome, and you had just recently returned to how you were before all of this.
First of all, Sidious was the man at the head of the Republic. Sure, even Padmé had her suspicions, but there’s so many people that love him. Then, there’s the fact that Obi-Wan needed help. And then the only help that was properly qualified for this action was a group that could possibly arrest or maybe even kill him for what he had done.
The most troublesome of them all was that you could possibly lose your fiancé again. Only, this time, you were scared for the more permanent possibility. You knew that Obi-Wan was no longer seeking revenge on the Sith, but it would be impossible to negotiate with only words. This would guarantee that there would be a fight and, depending on what kind of help he gets, can end in the least favourable way.
Obi-Wan watched these thoughts cross over your expression. He could also feel the rapid changes of your emotions that only confirmed what he believed you were thinking.
To try and calm you, he brought a hand to your cheek and used the one on your back to pull you down closer. When your head made its position on his chest, he kissed your temple and rubbed your back comfortingly.
“I love you, Y/N. I won’t leave you again,” he said, muffled against your hair. “No matter what.”
The finality in his words made you relax. It was something that you hadn’t realized you needed to hear.
“Alright,” you whispered as you felt the tug of sleep pulling your eyelids closed as you laid on top of Obi-Wan’s chest. You felt him press one more lingering kiss to your head before you drifted off.

A New Chapter (Echo x reader)
{masterlist}
Warnings: It’s implied that the reader has depression, some angst sprinkled in
.....................................
When Rex commed you to come to Anaxes on the next medical transport - you’d expected the worst. You were trying to prepare yourself to hear more bad news. You’d expected to be told that Rex had lost another one of his closest brothers and one of your dearest friends. You’d already lost so many...Echo, Hardcase, Tup, Fives..Echo’s death destroyed you first and left room for every following death to slowly chip away at your resolve. You feared that hearing you’d lost Kix, Jesse, or Cody might just do you in before you could begin to be there for Rex.
So, you frantically scrambled to steel yourself before the transport landed - keeping a death grip on the handle by your head to keep your self grounded. You knew that your fellow medics, clone and nat-born alike, were silently questioning you. As the head nurse you were expected to be composed, cool-headed, great under pressure, and a genuine calming presence. For you to be nervous enough for it to be reflected in your shifting stance and death grip was disconcerting.
As the transport initiated its landing sequence you took in one long steadying breath and braced yourself for whatever news awaited you beyond the doors. They opened with a hiss and your fellow medics immediately sprung into action unloading supplies and gurneys while you waded through the sea of activity in search of a certain captain. He was waiting for you by the entrance to the barracks. With his helmet on, it was harder to discern what he was feeling but for the most part he stood tall and proud in a perfect soldier stance with his hands clasped behind his back. He was busily conversing with someone you couldn’t see. You were confused now - you’d seen Rex after a heavy loss. His shoulders always sagged, his whole form took on a heaviness to it that was only ever abated with time and the comfort of some good wine you’d often smuggle in for him. He was never this...normal. Rounding a few stacked crates revealed to you that the person Rex was talking to was actually three people consisting of Jesse (thank the maker) and two clones you barely recognized as clones.
After a loud clearing of your throat you called out to him. Rex turned to you and removed his helmet in one fluid motion and you were surprised to see him beaming at you. “Vod’ika!” He chirped and started walking towards you with Jesse in tow whilst ignoring the intrigued looks of the other two clones - one had really long hair and a headband wrapped around his crown and the other, significantly shorter, peered at you with large eyes hidden behind a pair of blocky glasses. You met Rex in the middle and he quickly pulled you into a one armed hug that you barely returned thanks to being caught so off guard. “Glad you’re here.” He muttered next to your ear before retreating so Jesse could also pull you into a quick hug.
“I’d say I’m glad to be here,” you began as you pulled away from the arc trooper, “but I don’t know why I am.” You finished with a pointed look at Rex that told him to start explaining.
His smile fell a bit, though it didn’t completely disappear, “It’s...a long story and it’s better to just show you. C’mon.” He swung his arm for you to follow him, already walking towards the barracks. You hesitated, casting a confused look at Jesse who just offered you an impish grin in reply before strutting after the captain. With a steadying sigh you followed after the two kama wearing clones.
You passed many troopers as the captain and arc trooper led you further inside the barracks, most from the 501st, some from the 212th, a lot from the 187th, and at least two who you couldn’t identify as being from any legion but they were wearing the same armor as the other two who had been talking to Rex and Jesse when you arrived. The taller of the two (the much taller of the two - was he even a clone? Or was he a Natborn that vaguely resembled the millions of brothers?) watched you walk away with his one functioning eye and a poorly hidden whisper to his friend. “’Think that’s the gal he’s been askin’ about?”
“Looks like ‘er.” The smaller of the duo answered in a grating voice.
Your brow furrowed - a lot of clones tended to ask about you given your tendency to move between legions and battalions but it was rare that they talked about you to the extent that someone who’d never met you could recognize you. If you were honest, it was a little unnerving. But, despite your best effort to keep the thoughts at bay, you were briefly reminded of a conversation you’d once had with Fives.
“He talks abou’ you a lot, y’know.” The newly promoted arc trooper slurred as he heavily leaned against you. He vaguely gestured in the direction of his aforementioned brother where he leaned against the bar, armor glinting in the low lighting, after he timidly offered to get you a new drink. You’d protested, telling him it was his big night, you’d get the drinks but he took off before you could even get to your feet. “Just too shy to do anything but that.”
“What does he say?” You asked the drunken trooper quietly as your pulse began to speed up. You, admittedly, hadn’t taken much interest in Echo at first - you thought him boring and stiff - but recently he’d been challenging your perception of him. And you’d be a liar if you said you hadn’t started to admire the capable, quick-witted, snippy, but kind, sensitive, and charming soldier.
“Says ‘e likes you, wish he could work up the nerve to talk to you, thinks you’re the prettiest damn medic in the GAR, thinks you’re a kriffin’ genius...and, ‘m pretty sure he’s in love with you.” Fives took another hearty swig of his drink, shutting up for the first time in what seemed like hours, which gave you enough time to consider his words. While you didn’t want to put all your faith in the drunken mess of an explanation Fives had given you - he did know his twin the best and he’d never lied to you. Maybe - you took another good long look at Echo - just maybe, - you saw him take a deep breath as the bartender handed him your drinks, almost like he was trying to psych himself up - you’d take a chance. You met Echo’s gaze as he turned around, sending him a fond smile that he sheepishly returned.
Rex led you to a separated part of the med bay primarily meant for rehabilitation where he finally came to a halt just before the door. “Now,” he began as he turned to you, Jesse stopped at your side with crossed arms and a strange, conspiring smile on his face, “I want you to walk between Jesse and I.” Rex ordered quietly as if scared of being overheard.
Your brow furrowed immediately. “Why?”
“In case ya faint.” Jesse answered back.
With a roll of your eyes that could rival the likes of Wolffe’s, you turned to the ARC trooper. “Jesse, I’m a field medic whose spent most of her career on the front lines dealing with a menagerie of injuries. I’m sure whatever it is, I can handle it.”
“Be prepared to eat those words.” Jesse muttered under his breath in retort but you elected not to respond, instead, you turned your attention back to Rex who was staring at you uncertainly.
“All the same, let me go in first and make sure he’s ready.” Rex offered gently with a softly placed hand on your shoulder. He had an odd look in his eyes - somewhere between apprehensive, compassionate, and elated - as he looked at you.
“You’re the captain...” You muttered, suddenly feeling on edge. Jesse must have noticed your tense form for he softly grabbed your hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. Rex nodded to Jesse then to you before strolling in to the room. The door slid into place behind him leaving you and Jesse for a few minutes. The ARC trooper didn’t let go of your hand till Rex came back and gestured with a nod of his head for the two of you to come in. Rex went back in first, followed by Jesse, with you taking up the rear. The air was strangely tense as you followed behind the two clone troopers so you couldn’t stop your mind from preparing itself to see the worst. While not uncommon for you to visit patients in the middle of rehabilitation it wasn’t why you were part of the GAR. It was just something you’d started doing after serving with the clone forces for so long. But never before had you been nervous. Without warning, Jesse stopped right in front of you causing you to bump into his back. Instead of laughing at you like you thought he would, Jesse angled his body enough for you step in front of him and gently encouraged you to do so with a hand between your shoulder blades.
You came to a halt in front of him and the ARC trooper kept his hand where it was as if trying to steady you. Seriously, why were they being so weird? You still couldn’t see very far into the room - only the equipment shoved against the walls closest to the door - thanks to Rex who stood in front of you. There was no talking. Rex dipped his head at whoever was in the room and stepped to the side.
Before you was a trooper dressed in red fatigues. His frame was thin, cheeks sunken in, and his skin unnaturally pale. And he was missing an arm which had been replaced with a computer interface arm one would expect to see on an R-series. His head had also been shaved which revealed small, port like protrusions out of his skull. And upon glancing your eyes downward, you noticed that the trooper’s legs had been replaced with mechanical ones. Not to be flippant but he looked like he’d been through hell and back.
With a deep breath, you let a mollifying smile slip onto your lips and a sympathetic look fill your eyes. “Hello,” you kept your voice soft too, just in case the trooper was nervous, “My name is Dr. L/n. What’s yours?”
His brow furrowed and it was only now, after his expression had changed, that you noticed that it had once been almost hopeful. Now, he looked confused. Or more accurately, conflicted. His pale brown eyes were frantically darting back and forth as if searching your face for an answer to a question that was left unasked. “I-it’s me.” He finally spoke in a frail voice. You cocked your head to the side. That was adimttedly an odd name but who were you to judge? Just as you were opening your mouth to speak, he continued. “Cyare, it’s me.” Your mouth clamped shut as the first word slipped from him as the instinct to snap briefly took over. Only one person got to call you that.
“Trooper, forgive my bluntness but-”
“Meshurok.” Hearing that word made it feel as though ice had been injected into your body. Shivers ran up and down your spine and goose bumps formed all over. No one had called you that since...Echo.
“How...?” You felt your body start to fall back only to be stopped by a hand between your shoulder blades. Jesse was still there and Rex was standing just off to the side. They were both real. But was he...?
“When I first worked up the nerve to ask you out, you were wearing a necklace with a kyanite pendant. I asked you where you’d gotten it and what it was.” The trooper took a careful step forward and you felt your heart begin to speed. “You told me it was gifted to you by a young Twi’lek girl you helped when you were on Ryloth with the 187th.” He took another step. “She’d gifted it to you and told you that it was it represented new beginnings.” You took a step forward, eyes wide. “I asked if I could be a part of your new beginnings.” You took another step forward.
“And I said ‘only if I get to be a part of yours’.” Your voice was wispy, choked with old ghosts. “Echo...” Before you knew it, you were wrapped in his arms. “Echo.” You didn’t care that your voice trembled with barely restrained sobs or that Jesse and Rex were barely three feet away. All you cared about was how familiar he felt - familiar and safe. Home, your mind supplied. “I-I, but the citadel and the ship - I...you...oh god.” You pulled back, almost giving yourself whiplash in the process as your instincts took over. Your hands reached up to gently hold the sides of his face while you reevaluated his appearance. “How did you survive the ship?” Your fingers were busily skimming all the alterations that had most likely been forced onto your cyar’ika. You noticed that his eyelids fluttered closed at the sensation of your fingers on his skin and it made your heart squeeze in both affection and the need to protect him.
“I don’t really know, mesh’la. I just remember trying to take the ship, it exploding, and then waking up being dragged.” Echo whispered, keeping his hand stubbornly fixed on your waist. Behind you there was the sound of the door sliding closed which you guessed was Rex and Jesse making their exit.
“Kriffing droids, how dare they touch you,” At some point in your speedy assessment you started to mutter, “I should go there and tear each one to scraps with my bare hands.”
Echo chuckled and it was enough to bring tears to your eyes, your hand paused just above the computer interface arm. “Who did this to you?” Although it was whispered, Echo heard you clear as day.
He sighed and gently rested his head against yours, “Seps, techno union - they don’t matter.”
“They hurt you - I’m going to find them and kill them myself.”
“I thought your whole thing was ‘do no harm’.” Echo quipped and the smile that followed, though no where near as wide as you were used to, was warm and genuine and enough to pacify you for now.
“I can make exceptions.” You muttered but the fire had died down. Another puff of air brushed against your face - another reminder that Echo really was here.
“Later then.” He pressed his lips against your forehead and drew you closer. You sighed and melted against him, the happiest you’d been in a long time as the first few words of another new chapter formed before your very eyes.

Febuwhump Day 8
Prompt: “hey, hey, this is no time for sleep”
Warnings: graphic descriptions of violence and injury
Tumblr media
Crash at Point Rain
The battle already rages below them as the 212th Attack Battalion descends toward Geonosis. Obi-Wan watches with great trepidation as the ground forces are already deep in the midst of a violent undertaking. The explosions kick up the dusty surface of the bug planet, creating a cloud that obscures his view from seeing anything besides the muted flashes of blaster and cannon fire.
The Force reeks of death and destruction. If the turbulence of the gunship isn't enough to cause his stomach to turn, the feeling of darkness is.
"Five klicks to the rendezvous, General!" the message is passed from the pilot.
"Very good, stay sharp."
Everything relies on things according to plan. So naturally, everything goes up in smoke.
A massive explosion next to them causes the gunship to jolt, nearly throwing half the men out the other side of the open ship. Obi-Wan whirls around in time to watch one of their other ships, hit by cannons, violently explode and fall to the ground in a massive fireball.
Oh, not good, he thinks, because as long as they are in the air, they are practically defenseless. The clunky ships only have so much maneuverability and the dust is too thick to get a proper visual to shoot down the anti-aircraft tech.
"Take evasive action!" he yells, though his orders are implied. The blast doors are slammed shut, and darkness encompasses the hold. Obi-Wan white knuckles the hand-hold, his heart dropping as the reports begin to come flooding in through his commlink of other gunships having the same issues.
He would have preferred to never step foot on this Force-forsaken planet again. One time on Geonosis is more than enough in Obi-Wan's opinion, but apparently, the bugs seem to have a significant role to play in all of this. He still remembers the carnage in that arena like it happened yesterday. It still haunts him that all of this could have been stopped had they managed to capture Dooku.
Instead, Anakin lost his hand, The Jedi lost numerous, and the galaxy received a civil war.
Cody's voice rings through on his commlink, sharp and frantic. "General Kenobi, don't land! The zone is hot!"
"But there's nowhere else to go!"
Suddenly, the gunship jolts once more, but this time the horrible sound of durasteel being forced apart and the heat of explosion accompanies it.
"We're hit, we're hit!" he yells over the alarms that now blare through the cabin. "We're going down!"
Some troopers fall into the walls as the ship loses control. Obi-Wan can see out the front window from where he stands, and the red sands of Geonosis are very quickly approaching. We're coming in at too hard an angle!
Another shot comes hurdling through the very window, shattering the transperisteel and striking the pilot. There is only time for a gasp of surprise, and then the trooper slumps forward.
"Brace yourselves!" Obi-Wan screams as the ship takes a nose dive. Gravity is pulling his body off the ground now, and despite his order, he finds himself suspended with only his grip on the strap as an anchor. The Jedi Master flails, trying unsuccessfully to plant his weight anywhere else and get some traction, but troopers are already being thrown at a terminal velocity within the durasteel coffin, pushing him out of any position of security he could manage.
When the front of the gunship slams into Geonosis, Obi-Wan is torn from the handle. He unceremoniously crashes into the durasteel floor, his forehead bouncing off it with a sickening crack. Darkness clouds his vision, but he holds onto consciousness as the belly of the ship follows close behind in the violent crash. He is tossed into a huddle of other troopers, their armor cutting into the unprotected portions of his skin. Obi-Wan has no idea if up is up or down is up, or how long they have been skidding across the surface of the planet. The pile of helpless men is suddenly thrown in the other direction as the ship seems to slow, but tip onto its side. Obi-Wan, on top of the pile one moment, is hitting the wall again the next. This time, he doesn't have a moment to react before the other occupants of the hold are on top of him.
The destroyed gunship itself has stopped, but everything still feels like it's spinning. He gasps through the thick black smoke that has funneled into the cabin, trying to move, but the four troopers that are slung across him have him pinned against the wall. His head throbs, his vision is blurred. He can't tell if it's from the smoke or he hit his head hard enough to give him a nasty concussion-- possibly both.
Through his haze, he hears groans of agony around him. His troopers have not moved since they came to a stop. He can feel their Force presences-- they're dim. Few. Many have perished, and many more are on the way.
Obi-Wan manages to get an arm free and pushes the clone that lies across his chest to the side. Blood covers the front of his armor where it looks like his blaster got jammed in his throat. He pushes down a wave of nausea and uses his newfound freedom to push another one of his fallen men off his leg. He's weak. Barely able to manage the weight, though he's never had issues before.
"General!" a faint voice calls from the other side of the ship. It takes him a moment to look up, searching lazily across the smokey cabin. A trooper slowly gets to his feet, stumbling over the bodies of his fallen brothers and landing on his knees at Obi-Wan's side.
"Trapper," he recalls his name. "are you injured?"
"Not as bad as others. And you, sir?"
Obi-Wan grimaces as another wave of nausea burns like acid in this throat, and decides to ignore that question. "Help me get free if you can."
Trapper is able to pull the other two troopers off him before practically collapsing. Obi-Wan pulls him to sit next to him with his back against the wall. "Well done, trooper. Rest now."
The clone sighs in relief, reaching up and pulling his bucket off, and holding it in his lap. Now that they have settled and the smoke has thinned, Obi-Wan can finally take stock of the damage.
The walls of the gunship look as though they were crushed between the hands of a giant. It's a wonder it held up the way it did judging by the force of their impact. Bodies of troopers are strewn about. Motionless. The smell of blood and burning flesh is already potent, which is just about pushing Obi-Wan over the edge.
"Pardon me, Trapper," he says before leaning over away from his companion and emptying the contents of his stomach. He vomits until there is nothing left, and then his stomach still twists, as though even its natural acid must be ejected. Tears spring up in his eyes and his face feels hot and clammy. Obi-Wan has to clutch the wall to bring himself back to his original sitting position. His hands are shaking. He folds them together in an effort to calm them.
His head hurts. It's a dull, radiating pain that encompasses his head and runs down his neck, making his body simultaneously feel like it's crumbling and completely numb.
He can feel Trapper watching him. "I'm okay,"
"Did you hit your head general?"
"A better question may be what didn't my head hit."
It's more honest than he usually is, but Obi-Wan is quickly losing the will to hide it any longer. He is holding back tears that he isn't sure why are trying to force themselves out. He's felt greater agonies, been through worse tribulations.
But the tears don't seem to be sadness. It's difficult to place, but he feels angry? Frustrated? With every passing moment, his emotion seems to change.
It's exhausting. He's exhausted. Obi-Wan lets out a shaky breath and lets his heavy eyelids fall closed. Though the gunship was dark already, the total darkness is like immediate relief.
"Hey, general, this is no time for sleep."
"It sure feels like it," he groans.
"If you have a concussion you must stay awake to monitor your symptoms, sir."
"And if I decide to nap?"
Silence hangs between them for a long moment.
"I believe there is a chance you may not wake up. Sir."
As enticing as that sounds in the moment, Obi-Wan forces his eyes open again, rolling his head slowly to the side to look at Trapper.
"We can't have that, I suppose."
Minutes or hours later-- Obi-Wan isn't sure-- voices echo from outside and rapid footsteps approach. Not the buzz of Geonosisans nor the clank of battle droids, which is comforting at least. He grips his lightsaber anyway, ready to use it if needed.
Obi-Wan isn't sure of how much help he could possibly be, though. After taking greater stock of his injuries, he is quite sure he won't be able to stand on his own for more than a few minutes, nevermind actually fighting.
The door of the gunship is forced open and light streams in, causing a flare of pain behind his sensitive eyes. He squints through the daylight until his swimming vision finally focuses long enough to see familiar troopers.
"Waxer, Boil. Am I glad to see you," he pauses as they run forward to meet them, their gaze obviously wandering to their dead brothers lying about. "Trapper and I are the only ones still alive."
"Good to see you, sir," They hoist him to his feet, quicker than he probably should have been by the way everything goes black for a few long seconds, but Waxer keeps his arm securely around him as he blinks through it. "Commander Cody's established the square just beyond this position..." a ringing in Obi-Wan's ears drones out the clone's voice, and he winces, squeezing his eyes shut until it passes. "...trying to surround us as we speak, sir."
Right. The battle. The war. Now out of the ship, he is rudely reminded of the brutality of the ongoing battle that is only made worse by his pounding head. Blaster shots sound as though they are being amplified directly in his ears, and explosions and cannons make his knees feel weak from the light sensitivity.
Medical is going to have a field day with this, he sighs.
Though he wants nothing more than to collapse in his bunk for the next week and a half, he reminds himself of the importance of their success. They must recapture Geonosis and take out their droid foundries.
Obi-Wan pulls the Force around him, releasing his pain and using it to augment his strength. It's a short-term solution-- and something that will get him in deep trouble with the healers if they find out-- but it will do for now.
There will be time to rest when the war is over.

If Anakin won on Mustafar and became Emperor Vader
Let’s say Anakin achieved the higher ground, jumps behind Obi-Wan, stabs him and kicks his body down the lava. Obi-Wan Kenobi is dead. Lord Vader passed his final test and killed his master.  Anakin would take Padme in her ship and would fly to Coruscant to meet with The Emperor. Palpatine would ready the medical capsule for Lord Vader’s children to be born. Anakin would tell Padme, in time she will see the evil of the Jedi and together they would bring peace to the galaxy.
Vader would raise Luke & Leia to become Sith Lords. Luke is known as Darth Zhoun(meaning son in dutch as Vader is father) and Leia is known as Darth Regis(Regis being a slightly altered version of latin term for "royal") He would want to use them to overthrow the Emperor, and the Emperor would try to influence them to turn against Vader and become his new apprentices. Ultimately, Vader wins over his children and they unite against Palpatine. Vader is victorious and becomes Emperor. All hail Emperor Vader!
As for what Anakin would look like

Vader’s Empire would be an anvil and he would be the hammer.
Tumblr media
Palpatine, for all his faults, knew how to use public image and soft politics now and again, probably not as much as he should. Vader would not care about that have the standing policy of “Obey or Die” with less implied than Palpatine.
Vader, largely due to his experience as The Jedi Anakin Skywalker, had a high opinion of the clone army. Palpatine understandably was insecure about them and the prospect of betrayal, if he could use Order 66 on the Jedi, who’s to say somebody couldn’t sneak an order on him?
So, Vader would probably make a core backbone if not the entirety of The Imperial military would be clones, continuing the Kamino batches and Vader would even employ the services of Boba Fett as a new donor. With Cloning continuing, we would then see Phase III Clones

Rex, Cody and  Fordo would be the 3 Commanders of the Clone Army and Thrawn, Piett, and Veers would be the top commanders of the Imperial Navy
Vader was known to be hard on failure, insubordination, and other annoyances, but would be known to hold back due to high profile figures like Tarkin or the Emperor. Emperor Vader would have no limitations and probably find himself killing even more officers (though this could be softened by a disciplined clone army).
Anakin always had a low opinion of The Senate, and Vader found bureaucracy frustrating, so he would probably dissolve The Imperial Senate much sooner, taking direct military control.
In fact, Vader would probably take as much direct control as he could, having little faith in many under him and found many of the Moffs too ambitious or inefficient, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he killed most of that council and gave those responsibilities to either a tighter group, individual, or solely to himself and his children, governing the galaxy one hyperspace jump to the next killing anyone who wouldn’t play ball and moving on.
Vader didn’t seem to like the Inquisitors either, so would probably only train his children, taking personal enjoyment in killing force sensitives and ex Jedi himself as a pastime and collecting and hoarding all ancient sith knowledge for himself. He didn’t seem to mind flaunting his force abilities or dark side in front of others, and so would probably not care about being an open sith lord to his galaxy, thinking he could kill any objectors.
Vader, Luke and Leia would hunt down and kill any Jedi survivors and any Force Sensitives would be sent to Malachor to be indoctrinated to become Dark Acolytes. We would see Vader hunting down Yoda and killing him, the last Jedi Master falls.
But there are good qualities of Anakin that would shine through into Vader’s rule:
Given his experiences in childhood Vader would certainly ban slavery and harshly punish any who would practice it
Anakin’s experiences in The Clone Wars, Outer Rim childhood and Jedi operate with a ton oft put off by the likes of Imperial aliens like Thrawn being nonhuman, so his Empire would probably have a lot more aliens in the Empire.
His frustration with corruption in both The Republic and Empire as well as his need for efficiency and likely to establish a strong clone presence, he would probably kill any who would connive to undermine his empire for their own gain and the Empire would probably be free of a lot of corruption.
Given his love for engineering I can see technological strides being made, specifically in the military. His love for flying might see him adopt the TIE Defender project.
There would be no Death Star instead he puts everything into expanding their fleet and military, higher training and strong generals and admirals at the head of his military. But if there had to be one(more on that next)
Vader enjoyed enacting harsh punishment and taking a direct hand in crushing insurrection, so any rebellions that would crop up would see him leading and crushing any that crop up, and if he had The Death Star he’d probably use it liberally rather than as a threat. I could see him destroying Tatooine as an early demonstration as well a personal final destruction of his past: his life as Anakin, his slavery, the Hutts and the death of his mother.
He would rule with an iron fist and scarcely delegate, putting down any issue with lethal intense force with an army solely loyal to him. While in the short term this would prove effective as a galaxy would be put into fear of either death or their whole planet destroyed, this isn’t a good long term plan and as soon as he slips up an even greater rebellion would rise up to him, or if he managed to deal with that and rule an autocratic galactic empire for years afterwards, his lack of faith in those under him, lack of soft politics and unitary power would see the empire fall apart pretty easily after his death. Though the galaxy would be in a much weaker place for the next bad guys after how many governments he crushed and planets he destroyed. Granted, Palpatine’s empire fell apart but it still lasted a solid ten years and he had contingency plans for successor plans like The First Order, Vader however intended to have a dynasty that would live for generations. His children would inherit the Empire after his death and their children as well.
Padme could not stand idly by anymore. The man she loved is gone and her children have been corrupted and if her children cannot be her hope, then she will become her own. Any willing and able senators before the dissolution of the senate join Padme and the Rebel Alliance is born. The only Jedi who could stand with her are Ahsoka Tano, Cal Kestis and Ezra Bridger.
Padme’s betrayal will come with consequences. Occupation and invasion of each Rebel leader’s homeworld. If that isn’t enough to crush the Rebellion, Lord Vader intends to use the Death Star on Naboo, symbolically of how far Anakin has fallen and the end of Anakin and Padme’s love....or so we thought. Before he gives the order, Vader would order Padme be brought aboard the Death Star. Now we all believe this might be to force her watch Naboo’s destruction, but we reveal that they were in on it together.. Vader will say “well played, my love.” “As we planned, my Emperor.” We would find out, Anakin DID teach Padme the lies and evil of the Jedi. He reminds her, they did nothing as Naboo was laid siege by the Trade Federation. Only two acted, where was the rest of their order? They did nothing as people like him and his mother lived in slavery. The Senate did absolutely nothing while Naboo was occupied and The Senate kept the Clone Wars going and the Jedi acted as Generals. As Emperor he has brought more peace than the Jedi has ever done in over 1000 generations.  He collected Jedi and Sith holocrons to teach Padme that the Jedi allowed all this to happen and Padme begins to believe her husband and Emperor was right, The Jedi deserved to fall and they can bring peace and order to the galaxy and make it what they wanted. But Padme was drawn to one particular Sith Holocron after Anakin brought truth to his Empress. The Holocron and teachings of Darth Traya.
Padme was playing The Rebels. She played the long con. Luring everyone willing to rebel against her family’s empire and wait for her Emperor to wipe them all out in one fell swoop. She even revealed that she implied to the last of the Jedi that her children had a chance to be swayed from their path, the poor fools. Vader is impressed with Padme’s cunning and deception. Padme takes his mask off and embraces him in a kiss. Long live Emperor Vader! Long live Empress Amidala!
Ahsoka was always Vader’s apprentice. As soon as Vader gained control of the Empire, Vader found Ahsoka and convinced her to join him. Showed him the good he’s done and the problems the Jedi have caused for thousands of generations and reminds him of how they betrayed her. It took some convincing, but eventually Ahsoksa stayed true to her Master and Emperor. Ahsoka would become Darth Statera. Statera is "balance" in Latin. Ahsoka is the embodiment of what the Jedi Order should be which is balance. Much like how Darth Vader represents a fallen father figure, ahsoka would represent the fall of balance.

Dark Ahsoka by vashperado
Ahsoka’s goal was to lure the Jedi out of hiding. she found Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus and Cal Kestis. Ahsoka gives the signals and the Twins joins her and they would all kill the Jedi.
Under the guise of peace talks with the Rebel leaders on the planet of Kashyyyk does the war end. When all is said and done, does Bail and Mon Mothma believe peace is restored. Then, the Wookies begin to drum the Imperial March and the doors are all locked tight. It dawns on them that something is wrong. Padme, with a wicked smile, smiles and sips her wine as the Clones begin slaughtering the Rebel forces and Vader and her children begin slaughtering the Rebel leaders. All that remains are Bail and Mothma. Begging for their lives.  Questioning what twisted dark side magic has caused her to betray them? “Betrayal? I’ve always been loyal, to my world. To my husband and emperor and to my children. You want me to bring back a Republic who stood by and did nothing as my world was occupied? The Republic we once revered is dead. It was dead long before Palpatine came into power. I used you to unite the Rebels together. I used you to bring the Jedi out of hiding and I betrayed you all because There must always be a Darth Traya, one that holds the knowledge of betrayal. Who has been betrayed in their heart, and will betray in turn. And as your Empress, my traitorous Rebels, I sentence you to death!” The Rebel Alliance has ended. Long live The Empire!
The twins would soon find love with Mara Jade and Han Solo. Luke would find Mara Jade after one day finding a powerful force sensitive and deciding to train her himself. They fell in love and became strong within the force together. They would have a son and name him Anakin.
Leia came across Han when she came to bring justice to Corellia. Leia saw something in Han, she saw nothing but treachery in his companion Qi’Ra, so she manipulated Moloch into killing her and as Han thought he would join Qi’Ra. Leia came to his rescue. Han pledges himself to the Imperial Princess and her Empire, as long as he can hurt the criminal underworld and bring order to the galaxy.
Leia grants him his wish and Han would soon become The Empire’s best pilot, next to her father and brother of course.  Han Solo becomes the best Tie Pilot in the Imperial Navy. So skilled that he is known throughout the galaxy as the Black Ace. He even manage to partner up with the Wookie Imperial War Chief Chewbacca.

Long after the war is over, Han and Leia would be married and they would have their son, Ren Solo.
Poe Dameron would be the new top Ace Pilot in the Imperial Navy and no one is safe from the Dread Pilot Dameron.

Finn would’ve been raised by the aged and retired Captain Rex. His family killed by pirates and Finn would’ve been raised to believe the Empire was a force for good and would’ve been inducted into the Clone Army. He would’ve rose through the ranks and become a Captain. While not a Clone, Finn would be a big deal in the Grand army of the Empire. FInn’s armor would be an Obsidian like armor. Like Phasma’s armor, but made out of Obsidian. Couldn’t find any fanart of Finn as a Stormtrooper Captain, so there we go.
Han and Leia did some research. To ensure any and all traces of the old Emperor Palpatine were destroyed, they investigated the abandoned Jakku laboratory and found a girl. Rey. Rey would become a ward of the Imperial Royal Family and when Rey comes of age, Ben and Rey would be wed
As Emperor and Empress of The Galactic Empire, Ren and Rey will usher in a new era of peace and prosperity!

A small push, a story about two (clueless) people - On the other side
Maul and Obi-Wan discuss a certain trooper.
If you ask Maul, he’d tell you that this day has started in the best of ways: not only he’s managed to get commander Cody for himself for a while, and was able to catch up with him, but he’s also got the chance to annoy Obi-Wan, which is something that he’ll never get enough of. Even though their relationship has greatly improved from that bitter rivalry that has characterized his first years as a jedi initiate, they still like to rib at each other.
To think that he used to be jealous of him, something that isn’t true anymore… except for one small detail, but that’s another story, something that he doesn’t want to think about now, not when they’re in the middle of a debrief.
Speaking of said debrief, if Maul has to keep staring at the holographic model of the factory, he’s going to cave his own eyes.
They’ve already discussed everything, why are they still there? Right, Obi-Wan would rather die than not to consider any tactical possibility, no matter how unlikely something is to happen. It’s not a wrong behavior per se - it’s good to prepare for anything - but it’s also oh so boring, and Maul can’t stand boring things, even though his station as a Jedi forces him to experience them quite often.
He ever so subtly moves his gaze towards the figure on Obi-Wan’s right. Cody is as professional as always, posture rigid and bucket on his head; a shame.
Maul knows well that he can’t afford to spare him more than an occasional glance, or else someone will notice his distraction and call it out, something that he doesn’t need at the moment.
Soon, however, he begins to tune out Obi-Wan’s voice, bringing his attention back only when Cody intervenes. Even then, however, he doesn’t really focus on what he’s saying, rather on how he’s saying it: his voice, his accent…
He’s already committed all that to memory since his and Cody’s first interactions, but listening to him has never stopped being fascinating. It may or may be not one of the excuses as to why he always tries to keep him for himself, so that he’ll be forced to speak to him.
It’s during moments like this that he appreciates how good he’s gotten at hiding his emotions, especially given how full this room is of Force sensitive people, between Obi-Wan, little Anakin - who isn’t that little anymore but since he hates being called that, Maul will continue until the day he dies - and padawan Tano.
If anyone picks up his thoughts it would be very embarrassing, that’s why he keeps quiet about them, though he supposes he’s not entirely unsubtle, if the way Obi-Wan stops him after they’re done tells him something.
While everyone else is beginning to leave, Obi-Wan tells him:
“Master Oppress… Would you mind staying here another few minutes?”
He does mind, actually, because he has the feeling that he’s not going to like what Obi-Wan wants to tell him, but well if he gets to annoy him some more, he can take a hit.
“Of course, master Kenobi,” he replies.
He has to fight with all his willpower not to turn around to glance at Cody who, having been dismissed, will probably join his brothers. If he turns towards him, Obi-Wan will certainly pick up on it and will mention something about it, so he’s not going to do it, though at this point he could’ve done it, because Obi-Wan isn’t as oblivious as he’d like him to be.
Once they’re alone, Obi-Wan rests his hands on his hips, staring at Maul with an unimpressed gaze.
“So?”
“… So?” Maul echoes. What does he want this time?
“Are you going to try stealing Cody away this time too? I’ve already seen you looking at him instead of paying attention.”
At those words, Maul can’t help but to burst into laughter. Not that Obi-Wan is entirely wrong, because this is the only thing he’s still envious of him: Cody. Maul works alone, he’s a shadow, but even if he’d never admit it out loud, he longs for some company, Cody’s company that is; of course he’s a professional and he’d never actually try to steal him away, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t joke about it.
“What if I am?” he challenges, as if Obi-Wan could do anything to stop him. Just as he thought, his friend rolls his eyes.
“Why do I still deal with you?” he mutters under his breath, but loud enough to be heard by Maul.
“Because I’m a karking delight and you know it,” he replies immediately.
Obi-Wan doesn’t even say anything this time, he just looks at him with his eyebrow raised. Maul holds his gaze, but before they get locked into a staring contest that would last for ages - because neither of them would ever be willing to lose to the other - Maul receives a message to his comm; it’s Cody, telling him that he’s around if he wants to have another small debrief before their departure.
Even though he’s not showing it to Obi-Wan, he must’ve understood anyway what this is about, since it’s not the first time Maul and Cody meet up right before a mission.
“You’re going to him?” he asks, voice carefully neutral.
“Yes,” Maul replies, immediately. “You can’t stop me.”
“I wouldn’t-- Maul, I’m no trying to stop you,” Obi-Wan says, realizing now that there has been a misunderstanding. “I’m just worried for you. Both of you.”
Now it’s Maul’s turn to rise an eyebrow at him, prompting him to continue.
“You’re obviously both holding back but… aren’t you hurting each other like this? Is this because you’re sticking to the code? I just don’t understand what you’re trying to accomplish, leading him on but never doing anything about it. And he does the same thing too! Is this some sort of game that I’m not privy to?”
“It’s not that…” Maul replies, though he doesn’t continue immediately. It’s not even that he doesn’t know how to explain it to Obi-Wan, because he knows how, and he’s sure that he would even understand, but… Some things you just have to keep to yourself, right?
Despite Maul acting like an open book, there are many things he actually keeps from himself; it’s a habit he picked from the start, when he was still unsure of his place in the Order - a dathomirian zabrak being a Jedi? That was just unheard of. Even though that feeling of not belonging soon became an unstoppable desire to rebel, he also rarely disclosed the deepest pits of himself to others. Even now, with the people he considers friends, not always he’s able to do it.
Cody seems to be the only exception to this: with him, Maul has never feared to be judged, even when it turned out that what he said was very dumb - Cody never fails to point it out, but the smile on his face as he does it makes it always worth it. This is but one of the many ways that Cody makes Maul feel at ease.
Eventually, however, he’ll have to give Obi-Wan a concrete response, he owes him that, especially since he’s acting out of worry not just for him, but for Cody too. After all, he’s both their friend.
“It wouldn’t be right, at the moment,” he begins to explain. “I’m a general, he’s a commander. The chain of command expects him to follow my orders.”
By the face Obi-Wan makes, it’s obvious that he’s understood what he’s implying.
“You think you’d be coercing Cody?”
And that, in the end, is the major problem with this entire matter.
When he nods, Obi-Wan immediately says:
“Oh, come now, I think we both know that it wouldn’t be the case. Whatever it is that you’ve got going on is completely mutual.”
That’s another thing Maul’s aware of; he didn’t mean to search inside Cody’s mind, and in a way he didn’t really do it. It happened a couple of months ago; like now, Maul had been assigned to help the 212th. The battle was just over, and as Maul was about to approach Obi-Wan and Cody to get an update on how things went on their side, Cody noticed his approach and started projecting such warm feelings towards him, that for a moment Maul was completely overwhelmed, it must’ve been the stress of that campaign what made him lower his guard - he hadn’t even noticed it. Long story short, from that moment on, Maul knew that the affection he felt for the commander is completely reciprocated.
In a way, things would’ve been easier if that wasn’t the case.
“That may be true, but we’d never be fully certain,” he says, for once carefully choosing his words. “Also, if someone finds out, what would they think? That the Jedi use their authority over the clones for…”
He doesn’t need to finish the sentence for Obi-Wan to understand. Yes, that is a problem.
Ironic, isn’t it, that this is what Maul is more worried about rather than, say, the code?
Well, as long as he doesn’t become selfishly attached, he’s fine; that’s the conclusion he reached. Besides, he thinks, with how Cody is, he’d never allow Maul to choose him over his duty, knowing how important it is.
No, the true problem is whatever the public opinion would come up to discredit their supposed relationship.
It’s not even that he cares about what they’d say about him; he’s handled way worse growing up already - never perpetrated by the Jedi, however, as they always treated him with kindness. No, he cares about what they’d say about Cody, because they would surely gang up on him for whatever made up reason they’d come up with; that, he can’t stand for.
Besides, it would also make the entire GAR - and especially the Jedi - look incredibly bad. No, he can’t do it.
“Well…” Obi-Wan begins then, scratching his beard, “The war won’t last forever, isn’t that right?”
Maul huffs, rolling his eyes.
“As if this wasn’t the plan from the beginning, Kenobi,” he replies, because yes, he knows what Obi-Wan’s suggesting; it was his plan all along. Waiting until the end of the conflict sounds impossible, but he’s willing to do it for Cody. “So I need you to keep him alive when I’m not around, you understand?”
“I assure you,” Obi-Wan begins, smiling, “That he’s the one keeping me alive rather than the other way around…”
He turns serious, eyes still on Maul.
“But I promise you that I’ll do my best.”
Maul nods. That’s enough for him.
“Thank you,” he says, from the deepest of his heart. Obi-Wan goes back to smile.
“Now go, before we have to depart.”
Maul doesn’t bolt at those words, no matter what Obi-Wan will say later, he doesn’t
And if he hears Obi-Wan laugh as he hurries out of the room, well, he’ll make sure to make him pay the next time he has the occasion to do it.
At the moment, however, he has something completely different in mind: he needs to find Cody.

Note
for the wip game, i'm very curious about bobajeditraining and finntimetravel (and a couple others too, but i'm restraining myself)
Bobajeditraining is currently titled But Maybe It’s Mine To Win and is about a kid Boba who does think of the other clones as his brothers, but he and Fives played a prank on Nala Se and she threatened to decommission anyone she caught him playing with then heavily implied she had Fives decommissioned (Boba doesn’t realize Fives is alive). Boba’s force sensitive which tends to give him nightmares about the future. He thinks the reason his dad is leaving him at the Jedi temple is because Mace seduced him, not that he’s there for training. He ends up getting befriended by Caleb. Here’s a bit of the intro:
“May I ask you a question?”
Boba is sure this is his father’s fault. The only explanation Boba has for why his father is enamored with Mace Windu is that at some point their fighting turned into flirting and then that turned into attempting to capture Dooku together. This means Boba needs to stay behind. Boba would really like to know why this means he’s staying at the Jedi temple on Coruscant and not on Kamino, but here he is waiting while Master Billaba gets him a few things and a room assignment. Now he’s got some kid looking at him wanting to ask questions. He’s not sure if this is going to lead to some bizarre Jedi hazing ritual. He really hopes there’s no hazing ritual. Boba wants to be back on Kamino where there is at least the chance he’ll get to watch his brothers and maybe be able to sneak in to watch some of the training his father isn’t sure he’s ready for yet. Boba frowns at the boy as he gives permission. “I guess you can. Doesn’t mean I’ll answer.”
Boba really thought that the Jedi were their enemy, but apparently now the Sith are the enemy? It’s both confusing and unsettling.
“Are you okay?”
Boba blinks. Is this a trick?
“Yeah,” Boba answers slowly, suspiciously.
The boy’s face screws up in contemplation. Boba is about to defend his right to lie, when the boy holds out a hand. “I’m Caleb.”
Boba stares at Caleb’s hand in longing. A simple offer of touch shouldn’t fill him with such want, but he’s seen his brothers. They touch each other all the time, are practically on top of each other all the time. The few times he’s managed to sneak into their ranks he’s been included. He misses Hardcase. Hardcase gives the best hugs. He misses studying tactics with Keeli. He misses cuddling with Kix. He misses getting into mischief with Fives. He doesn’t want to see Caleb offering a handshake and miss his brothers. He doesn’t want to get stuck on the way the last time a Kaminoan caught him and took him back to his father he got told he shouldn’t want to intermingle with the cannon fodder. He doesn't want to think about the weight behind her threats. It still leaves him feeling helpless.
Finntimetravel doesn’t have a title yet. It’s a Finn, who’s been partially trained by Ezra, accidently ends up sending himself back in time and ends up landing right in the middle of a battle with the 212th. Cody immediately decides that he and Obi-Wan are adopting Finn. I’m intending it to be Cody/Obi-Wan, Finn/Rex. Here is a bit of the intro:
The shiny just suddenly appears in the middle of the battle. His armor is spotless and his helmet is wrong. Cody tackles him to get him out of the line of fire. They’ll have to deal with suddenly appearing men after they’ve won. Thankfully, despite his armor not even having a hint of paint so Cody can know who to yell at for losing their shiny, he does have two DC-17 blaster pistols. They look slightly modified. Cody grabs the shiny’s hand and slaps it against one of the pistols. “Stick close. We’ll get you sorted once we’ve won.”
“What?”
“Separatists!” Cody points. “The battle droids won’t care that you just showed up.”
“Battle…” he starts, then breaks off cussing when he sees the droids, then goes silent when he sees General Kenobi cutting his way through a swarth of them with his lightsaber. “Yeah. Got it. Battle droids.”
He sticks close to Cody, shooting with an accuracy that makes Cody want to keep him around. Then one of his pistols ignites into a blue lightsaber and he’s blocking shots and firing back at the same time. Cody’s breath catches. It’s not something he’s seen a vod do before. Maybe he’s not a shiny? That doesn’t explain the unscuffed armor. Either way Cody is getting him transferred to the 212th. Or maybe there’s a Jedi that wants to wear armor and that’s why it’s different from the standard armor? It still doesn’t explain why it’s unscuffed and blindingly white. What battalion would let their Jedi get into armor without painting it? Whatever battalion lost him is going to have to fight Cody to get him back. Wasn’t Kenobi talking about getting a Padawan before Ahsoka showed up and Anakin ended up with a Padawan instead?
