made as an all-inclusive flag for all types of experiences. generally if you feel younger than you actually are, for whatever reason, you are allowed to use this.

all communities, of any nature, are allowed to use this flag and symbol so long that the use isn't hateful or bigoted, thank you.

the symbol is a visual metaphor for a lot of things, but generally it can be whatever you make of it. the heart symbolizes the inner child (or yourself, if you do not have one) and the circles can be anything from other people to the jets of the fountain of youth to the bars of a cage. or it's a flower. whatever you like. :)

rainbows are often associated with childishness, and have a certain whimsical quality that i wanted the flag to embody. i avoided the use of the color white intentionally in the stripes because not all of us associate ourselves with purity or innocence as white often represents.

the weird thing about writing a fic that's about a kid getting indoctrinated into a cult is that there's two Extremely distinct and obvious categories of commenters. People who can spot cult recruiting tactics, and people who are Very susceptible to cult recruiting tactics.

Watching Prom Dates right now because decompressing, but there's such a weird need to put down the queer kid in the movie. Like every time they bring up she's gay, they have to say something about her clothing or wearing her brother's jorts or "let's go to the local co-op poetry slam vegan restaurant to find you a date."

Like it's only funny for so long, especially because the stereotypes don't stop when they are between the straight characters talking about her sexuality behind her back. And I can't remember the lesbian ever making a joke about herself, it's always her straight bestie or brother....

We've continuously seen this with the gay men characters in media that are there to be the best friend who is essentially a personified joke, but it feels like some of these movies think they can just get away with queerphobia and laughing at the queers because they are in an inclusive era or the character actually gets a love interest.

recently, i was traveling abroad with my sister. i had just gotten off of an 8 hour flight, and, due to complications from a trip i had been on 2 days before, i had slept maybe 4 hours from friday morning until monday night, and had traveled almost the entire state to get to that airport from the other one (almost 8 hours), so i was obviously a little out of it and absolutely exhausted. so, we had landed, and we missed our connection due to the first flight landing almost an hour late. after we were moved to the next flight, i was sitting at the terminal with both my earbuds in (i was tired, it was loud, i needed the break), when i felt someone start touching my neck and take both my earbuds out. out of instinct, i elbowed the person, only to find out it was my sister. this was almost a month ago and everyone is still pissed off bc she was "just touching me" and i overreacted to being touched on my neck by someone who, as far as i knew at the time, was a stranger. i just told her that if she didn't want to get punched she wouldn't have touched me from behind, but now im worried that maybe it was an overreaction. so, aita?

i really dont get the criticism that bioware "retconned" the qun to include trans people. i feel like gender being inherently tied to your role in society, regardless of whether it aligns with your assigned gender at birth is something that existed since origins. its why sten and morrigan have a whole banter where she asks if sten has a hard time considering her a woman. not because she's in any way masculine, but instead because she takes her place on the battlefield; in the qun, all weird mage stuff aside, she'd be considered a man. i think people only think its a retcon because they give it a special word in inquisition in probably the most groundbreaking yet very messily handled scene involving a trans character ive had the (dis)pleasure of seeing where bull is like "yeah the qun has a word for people like krem" which immediately helps him to understand krem, also.

the difference in sten and iron bull when it comes to adjustment to non-qunari in majority non-qunari spaces is that (probably due in part to the chargers and iron bulls already very thin ties to the qun, and definitely in part due to bull being a member of the ben-hassrath and sten being a member of the beresaad) bull just naturally has an easier time connecting with people, even people who aren't part of the qun. sten has a hard time doing this due to his role as a soldier. he was not sent to make friends with ferelden or spy on them, he was sent to figure out what the blight is. he works through this in origins if you get his approval up but he never gets to iron bull's level as far as the games are concerned. theyre fundamentally different characters, bull does not act the way he does as a means of retcon. bioware's retconned a ton of stuff but this isnt on of those things
