Personal makeup and skin tips
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Double layer!! First liquid/cream products then dry powder products(blush, contour, highlighter)
USE SUNSCREEN "but girlbloggerbby my skin gets so oily when i use sunscreen" Better have oily skin than skin cancer.
Water based products only will work well if they are used with other products also based on water, same thing with silicone based products
I know that a lot of you love lip tints but hear me out, they dry your lips more easily, lip oils/ lip gel >>>lip tint
Bake only in oily zones, the other parts you lightly press the powder
That thing where you have to rub the cleanser for 60 seconds its bullshit, if the packaging doesn't have any information related to cleaning time, just rub it until you create foam and rinse, but doble cleanse
If u want a shiny eye makeup, the glitter/highlighter go in the mid of the eyelid to the eye corner, if you apply it to the end of the eyelid, it will be heavy in a bad way
Deep exfoliate only 2 times a week, over exfoliating sensitizes the skin, making the skin more prone to Breakout
Retinol is made to use during night, and if using during day apply even more sunscreen
When contouring the mouth, apply an eyeshadow on top to seal in the color and make it last longer, same with eyeliner
Body moisturizer is made for body and only the body!!!!!!!!!!!
Saying that here again, avoid using pell off masks(the black and extra tight to skin ones) THIS FUCKS THE SKIN BARRIER
Hydration is the greatest ally for makeup to not get cakey
Vitamin c does not get along with retinoids!
Concealer for everyday makeup.
Never and ever sleep with makeup, it clogs your pores and makes ur skin extra bad
Thats it for the day, i use makeup for a rlly long time and i search a lot about this stuff so this are skin and makeup tips that works for me, i luv ya bbys💋

The Best Retinol Duo (For Those Who Are Scared of Retinol)
For years “clinical” style and “Active” ingredient style products have seemed scary. Even for myself - a person who has been writing about beauty for over 12 years, but recently I took the plunge into retinol and I don’t regret it.
Sensitive skin, dry skin, and skin prone to eczema - it is no surprise I’ve kept away from Retinol for a while.  Retinol is a form of vitamin A and it’s an ingredient I’ve long wanted to incorporate into my anti-aging routine. It can help to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.  In addition, retinol has exfoliating properties, which can help to unclog pores and prevent breakouts (some people have great results with using retinol when they’ve got mila seeds around the eyes).Starting slow and avoiding products with too higher of a concentration - this is my ultimate skincare duo for those who are afraid of retinol but still want to enjoy the benefits.

GOOD MOLECULES GENTLE RETINOL CREAM
With gentle in the name and a $8 USD price tag I had to try this retinol cream. Not to mention it’s virtually ALWAYS sold out which speaks volumes for its efficacy and importance as a retinol cream in your skincare routine. I use this approx. 3x a week after cleansing my skin.  The cream has a smooth, lightweight texture that absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a greasy residue and I’ve noticed a visible improvement in the glow of my skin and any uneven texture that lurks around. With a formulation of 0.1% retinol my dry sensitive skin is very tolerable to it.

PEACE OUT SKINCARE RETINOL STICK & UNDER EYE BALM
This was the first Retinol product I ever tried and I LOVE it to pieces. As someone who is lazy with eye cream this is the perfect product to use - swipe it under the eye area and around the eye area a few times a week and see the results. As my skin starts to show signs of aging the biggest concern area I have is underneath my eyes and more specifically discoloration/dark spots. This has made a visible improvement in that area - I also like to swipe it over my forehead to help reduce the look of my fine lines. With micro-encapsulated retinol it’s not harsh like other retinol products and the smooth creamy balm feels nice on the eye area (and you don’t even need to tap it out under the eye area - talk about a lazy persons dream eye cream).
SUNSCREEN
If you’re using retinol I cannot stress the importance enough of wearing sunscreen. My go-to is the Ultraceuticals Mattifying Sunscreen with SPF 50+. If you’re in the states Supergoop Unseen Screen is a great option. You’ll also want to skip out on your AHA and BHA products like glycolic acid or salicylic acid to avoid skin irritation.

hi i was wondering if you had any skincare product reccomendations, i've never done skincare before and i don't really know where to start. i know i have sensitive and relatively dry skin.
i have a suncream that has spf 50+ which i think is good but do i need a specific one for my face? i apologise for all the questions but any advice would be amazing!
thank you!
💛
Hi darling!
Skincare is a tricky thing, because everybody's skin is different and as such has different needs. What works for one person may not work for another.
Firstly, you should start with my top skincare tips post so you understand the basics, function of ingredients, and which products are essential or not. You can also check out my skincare tag if you're interested in additional reading.
That being said, here are the basics from my routine and what currently works for me:
Tumblr media
Morning routine:
Vitamin C serum: La Roche Posay - Vit C10 This helps brighten complexion, softens skin and helps to fade any blemishes, scars, etc. Pro tip: keep your Vit C serum in the fridge, Vit C tends to oxidize and turn orange with time, even if i doesn't affect its efficiency.
Sunscreen: La Roche Posay - Anthelios for Face SPF50 This is what I've been using for 2 years now, it's popular for good reason. Although I will say they recently changed the formula from completely dry to a little oily, and I prefer the former.
Night routine:
Cleanser: CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser This is a chemical exfoliant (with Salicylic Acid) which is great for acne or break-out prone skin, to be used 2-3 times a week. For daily use I recommend CeraVe's classic cleanser, the Hydrating Cleanser.
Moisturizer: Bioderma - Hydrabio Riche Gentle, moisturizing, rich but not greasy. I always go back to this. (It's for dry skin, but if other readers have oily skin, try the Hydrabio Legere version instead.)
Skin-barrier repair (optional): La Roche Posay - Cicaplast Baume B5 This is a holy grail if you have damaged skin from using too many products, exfoliants, sunburn, etc. It's very gentle and soothing, and really does improve skin overnight. You can use it for face, body, even lips, but for that I prefer the product below.
Skin-barrier repair for lips (optional): La Roche Posay - Cicaplast Baume for Lips This is my go-to for intense hydration and repair (ie. chapped lips, wore drying lipstick all day, etc). Leave it on overnight and you'll wake up with smooth, plush lips ready for the day.
Retinol: The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane, CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum, La Roche Posay - Effaclar Adapalene 0.1% Topical Retinoid Retinol essentially regenerates your skin, helps with fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, etc. I'm still looking for the best retinol product, but I would recommend either of the above, all of which are direct recommendations I've found by dermatologists via Youtube or IG.
Conclusions
The only essentials you need are: cleanser, sunscreen, moisturizer. Everything else helps, but isn't necessary.
If you choose to add new products to your skincare routine, always add 1 at a time. That way you'll know which one is or isn't working for you.
Create the skincare routine that works for you. Don't go running after trends and trying out a hundred different things. Only test 1 product at a time, and when something works for you, keep it in your routine.
If you can afford it, reach out to a dermatologist to recommend products that are tailored to your needs. Most of the products listed were recommended by my dermatologist for mine.
If that's not an option currently, start following board-certified dermatologists on social media instead of taking advice from random people online as fact. You'll learn so much from their tips, plus it's free! I like watching Dr. Dre and Shereene Idriss, they are both entertaining and educational.
Hope this proves helpful, and let me know how your routine comes together. 💜

Skincare tips
sleep as much as you possibly can
avoid touching your face, clean your phone regularly, change towels and pillowcases regularly.
find a gentle cleanser that does not disrupt the skin barrier
RETINOL !!!!!
Dr Dennis Gross peel pads are the holy grail! they will transform your skin
Effaclar Duo with Spf by La Roche Posay : unclogs, gets rid of impurities and helps with sun protection.
SPF every 2 hours, tinted SPF is better at preventing hyperpigmentation since it has higher coverage.
Biafine after Cosmetic procedures or Lasers or sunburns, it will calm the skin down in a day and prevent a sensitive reaction. reapply every 3 hours if possible.
eat a healthy diet
Wear sunglasses outside always
organic skin care products are a scam
eat Sardines, they are the best source of Vitamin A there is, I know it may be gross but it will give you glossy skin.
Drink 2 litres of water a day
