Mooncake Maker as default replacement for Fortune Cookies Maker from TS3 World Adventures in Shang Simla, China.

As you know, Fortune Cookies are cookies originated from United States of America, which is not correct to portray cakes/cookies/pastries that are supposedly from China.

Not sure to publish it because it feels not finished yet.

In Buy Mode CAS is alright: High resolution (1024), right texture.

After click finish to exit CAS mode, it reverts to Low resolution (default EA texture is 512) and wrong texture (bad UV-Mapping) for preset 1. Other presets have right texture, but in low resolution.

So far the GeoStates (Full, half, empty states) are working.

The mesh of Mooncakes are fine.

I'm not script modder, therefore cannot remove or change functionality of default EA's Fortune Cookies lucky number and paper thing.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

Mid-Autumn Festival is one of important events in Chinese calendar.

Falling on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, it's celebrated primarily in East and Southeast Asia and is a time for families to gather to sample autumn harvests, light lanterns and admire what's believed to be the fullest moon of the year.

In 2024, the Mid-Autumn Festival, or the Moon Festival, falls on September 17. 

Mid-Autumn Festival became an official celebration in China during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE).

It was described as a day for emperors to celebrate the year's harvest by giving offerings to the moon and hosting a great feast.

Today, the Mid-Autumn Festival is an incredibly important family gathering – it's when "People and the moon reunite to form a full circle," as an old saying goes.

Mid-Autumn Festival is shrouded in myth. One of the most beloved – and tragic – pieces of folklore tells the story of how a woman named Chang'e became the moon goddess.

One of the biggest stars of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the Mooncake. The term "Mooncake" was first found in 1274 AD in author Wu Zimu's "Book of Dreams," and the first cookbook on how to prepare mooncakes was published in 1792.

While there are many variations of mooncakes, the most famous is the classic Cantonese version: a soft pastry filled with sweet lotus seed paste and savory salted duck egg yolk.

Changes to Character Tags in Video Blogging RPF: Usernames Incoming!

Hello! In the near future, the Video Blogging RPF wrangling team will change the way we format character tags. We’re happy to announce that all canonical character tags will include content creators’ usernames by default, similar to what has been done for character tags in SMP fandoms for some time.

For example, the following tags will be updated:

Sean McLoughlin will be renamed to Sean McLoughlin | Jacksepticeye

Jeremy Harrington will be renamed to Jeremy | Jerma985

Rachell "Rae" Hofstetter will be renamed to Rachell "Rae" Hofstetter | Valkyrae

Apollo Willems will be renamed to Apollo Willems | DumbDog

These changes are already underway for smaller-use character tags, and we ask for your patience as we roll out changes across all relevant Video Blogging RPF character tags. We hope this change makes it easier for you to find and tag your works. We’ve included more granular details below for anyone curious about the specifics :)

Why are you making this change?

As we’re an RPF subfandom, we adhere to standard policy for RPF tag formatting, which means including a legal name where appropriate. We source legal names from web pages that are publicly accessible at the time of canonization, which creators would have endorsed themselves (such as their social media or interview articles). However, when character tags only contain a legal name, they’re often unrecognizable for both users and wranglers. 

If a content creator primarily promotes themselves under a username, many users likely won’t know who the canonical character tag is referring to. Similarly, tag wranglers have struggled with accidentally duplicating character tags: we have trouble finding the canonical tags too!

To improve things for everyone, we’re changing our canonical tags to include usernames alongside legal names where appropriate. This ensures we’re compatible with other RPF fandoms—which we often have overlap with—while keeping tags usable and recognizable. 

Will this affect anyone whose character tag is only a username? Will you add legal names to tags that don’t have them already? 

We don’t plan to edit any existing canonical character tags that only contain a username. For example, TommyInnit (Video Blogging RPF) will remain canonical, even though the creator has since also made content under the legal name Tom Simons. 

In rare cases, a username may be ambiguous within Video Blogging RPF, and we will add another name or more information to a character tag to differentiate it. However, this is generally quite rare. When we conducted our audit of all character tags in Video Blogging RPF, the vast majority of username-only tags did not require additional disambiguation and will not be changed. 

In other cases, such as a content creator not wanting to be associated with a username anymore, we will remove the relevant information from the tag and replace it with a more appropriate name. This is similar to how we handle content creators who do not go by old legal names anymore. If a content creator changes their name—legal name or username—and does not want to be associated with their old name, we have and always will update the character tag as appropriate. 

What if a legal name on a character tag is incorrect? Will you be fixing those?

During our audit, we also ran into a few cases where a character tag’s legal name is incorrect, outdated, or there are conflicting sources. We will be updating such tags with more up-to-date information as we come across them or will remove names from a tag entirely if there are conflicting sources. For example, as mentioned above, Jeremy Harrington will be renamed to Jeremy | Jerma985 due to conflicting unofficial sources regarding the creator's legal last name. 

We want to thank our volunteers for their hard work, both for evaluating the 6000+ character tags in Video Blogging RPF and for preparing to rename all relevant tags as quickly and smoothly as possible. Given the large number of tags that will be changed, these changes will take some time to complete. We ask for your patience as we work to rename all relevant tags. Silly questions incoming! What are the GC names on the Yang, SR1 & SR2? Does anyone use unique usernames, or do they just stick to their names? Do Kaidan Aslany & Pendergrass still use the old Yang one, or did they make a new one so they don't have to see Sam & Beaudoin in the user list?

I am so disappointed in myself for never thinking about this before. What a fantastic question. It’s not silly; it’s fun, and silly/fun questions sometimes wind up telling you amazing things about characters. The ask about which poptarts everyone eats is still one of my favorite questions, because the answers were such beautiful encapsulations of each character.

The ‘Yang Group Chat:

Beaudoin is the one who makes it originally, as a way to herd all of his cats. It took ages of work and goading and reinforcement to get Sam to ever think to look at it. He’s a face-to-face kind of guy; he wants to look you in the eye to talk to you so he can learn from what you are saying – and what you aren’t. This form of communication doesn’t come naturally to him. Once he understood its importance to the others, however, he read every word of it religiously. He says the least in it of everyone in the squad, but the group chat taught him you actually can learn a lot about someone with non-verbal forms of communication, because a different side of them tends to come out.

Like with Aslany. She is much chattier in the group chat than she is face to face. She still doesn’t give you much about herself, but she’s much more comfortable when she isn’t being directly perceived. The version of Aslany in the group chat is softer, jokes more, and laughs more. Beaudoin is the opposite. Words are more permanent when they’re written down vs spoken, which unsettles him a little more than he realizes, and as a more people-oriented person (for very different reasons than Sam) he struggles to express himself in a group chat vs. hanging out in the lounge.

Kaidan is the most articulate one, who spells everything out, doesn’t use extranet-speak or shorthand, and proper punctuation. He responds to everyone, even if he has to go back 50 messages to do it, but rarely starts a new topic unless it’s to summon everyone to the mess when the food is ready. (Something Sam notices and fixates on a lot.) He is the one most likely to ping a squad member with an extranet article he thinks they’ll enjoy.

Kara is a menace with even less filter in the group chat than she has in person. Beaudoin is constantly afraid she is going to commit intergalactic felonies in the group chat, which she renames (Beaudoin originally titled it ‘Squad’) on a whim, so you never know what it will be when you open your omnitool. Sam: N7LCShepard. The N rank changes according to what it is at the time. His icon is originally the default Alliance logo. He only changes it when he makes N7…to the N7 logo.

Kaidan: EarthlingExplorer. His icon is art of a tiny astronaut whose helmet is Earth. This was a nickname given to him by childhood best friend Cate. She drew the art. He uses some variation of this username in every facet of his extranet footprint, with this icon.  

Beaudoin: Paloma_Pamplemousse. His icon is a photo of his most recent paloma, if it was photogenic enough to take a photo of.

Aslany: -WyldRse- . Her icon used to be the cover of her favorite Gerbilsica album, but she eventually replaced it with a candid photo Beaudoin took of her. It was from an away mission where they spent a night planetside and had a campfire. The photo he took is Aslany in profile, deep in thought staring at the fire, face lit up against the dark. It is her favorite photo of herself.

Pendergrass: Her username and icon change as frequently as the group chat name. There are no boundaries.

They don’t use the group chat after the destruction of the ‘Yang. The final message in it is from Beaudoin. It was in response to plans to meet up with Aslany on Arcturus. It reads, “First round’s on me. See you soon. Can’t wait.”

The set of benefits I am calling the Family Fun Pack causes income to be net transferred away from smaller families and towards larger families; away from older families and towards younger families; and away from richer families and towards poorer families.

The net transfers from smaller to larger families directly address the mere addition problem while the net transfers from older families to younger families directly address the lifecycle income problem. The net transfers from richer to poorer families is a cherry on top that also ensures that older and smaller families with lower incomes are partially shielded from taxes required by the Family Fun Pack scheme.

The Family Fun Pack consists of the following seven programs.

Around three months before the birth of a child, mothers will be eligible to receive a baby box that contains essential baby items like clothes, diapers, and wipes. The box the items comes in will be made of sturdy cardboard and lined with a mattress in order to serve as a bassinet. Baby boxes are currently provided to mothers in Finland and Scotland.20 Four US states—Ohio, Alabama, New Jersey, and Texas—also have baby box programs for some mothers.21

The Social Security Administration will administer the program by contracting with vendors who prepare baby boxes and ship them to benefit recipients. Individuals will establish their eligibility for a baby box through a certification of pregnancy submitted by their doctor.

Around the time of the birth of a child, parents will be eligible to take a total of 36 weeks of job-protected leave from work and receive an income benefit from the Social Security Administration while they are on leave.

If there is only one custodial parent, then that parent will be entitled to the entire 36 weeks of leave. If there are two custodial parents, then each parent will be entitled to 18 weeks of leave by default, but will also be permitted to transfer as much as 14 of their 18 weeks to the other parent. The option to transfer leave allows couples to split their parental leave entitlement in the way that they prefer.

The income benefit will be based on the highest earning year from the last three years of the recipient’s Social Security earnings record. The benefit will replace 100 percent of earnings up to the minimum wage (currently $15,080 per year) and 66 percent of earnings that exceed the minimum wage. The maximum benefit will be capped at the national average wage as measured by the national average wage index (currently $50,321.89 per year).22 All new parents will be eligible for benefits equal to at least the minimum wage even if they have no earnings on record.

This parental leave proposal is an improvement on the leading alternative, called the Family Act, for five reasons.23

This proposal truly is a parental leave proposal in that it only provides benefits to new parents. The Family Act combines parental leave with other leave benefits, which leads to conceptual and political muddling.

This proposal ensures all new parents receive at least the minimum wage while on leave. The Family Act would provide no benefits to parents without earnings records and would provide below-minimum-wage benefits to many low-earners.

This proposal uses a more generous earnings replacement formula: 100 percent replacement up to the minimum wage and 66 percent replacement afterwards. The Family Act uses a flat 66 percent replacement formula.

This proposal provides 36 weeks of parental leave per child. The Family Act only provides 12 weeks if one parent is present or 24 weeks if both parents are present.

This proposal allows parents to transfer as much as 14 weeks of their leave entitlement to the other parent. The Family Act does not permit any such transferring.

In the Family Fun Pack framing, parental leave would be understood as a benefit for children, with the benefit consisting of the care provided by their parents during leave. This also differs from conventional paid leave framing, which construes the program primarily as a benefit for working adults.

Parents with children between the ages of six months and three years will be provided a free spot in a public child care center. Parents who prefer to provide child care at home can forego their public child care spot and instead receive a home child care benefit paid by the Social Security Administration.

The federal government will fund the free child care program through grants, but local school districts will administer it. The federal grants will cover all of the costs of providing the child care service, including capital expenditures and worker pay. The federal government will also set standards for the provision of child care, including child-to-adult ratios and wage levels. If a school district does not cooperate with the program, the federal government will establish its own federally-administered child care centers in the area covered by the uncooperative district.

Those who opt for the home child care benefit rather than a public child care spot will be paid a weekly benefit that is roughly equal to the per-child wages of childcare workers. So, for instance, the median childcare worker has an annual salary of $22,290.24 The recommended child-to-adult ratio for these workers is around four to one depending on the age of the child.25 Dividing $22,290 by four gives $5,730 per year, which is $110 per week. Thus, under prevailing child-to-adult ratios and prevailing childcare worker wages, the weekly home child care benefit would be $110 per child. If the ratios or prevailing wages change, e.g. because the new public child care system sets higher wages, then the home child care allowance would change with it.

Children between the ages of three and five will be eligible to attend free public pre-k, just as many already do in Oklahoma, New York City, and Washington DC.26 This program will mirror the structure of the free public child care program. The federal government will fully fund the free pre-k program through grants, but local school districts will administer it, just as they already administer free k–12 education. If a school district refuses to cooperate with the new program, then the federal government will open its own pre-k facilities in that district. Unlike with child care, there will be no benefits available to those seeking to do pre-k at home, i.e. through homeschooling.

It is hilarious because whenever somebody says something like that, I just go like, I have never had a hyperfixation my entire life XD

We could actually, I'm just going to talk about MS Word shortcuts…

I do love using shortcuts. I have been taught that way by unfortunately my dad but we endure lol (I am not happy whenever I realize that I have something from my dad because I don’t really want to be like him. (He’s like… like Zeus from SW. So. You know… There are my “epic Athena fandom” daddy issues)

But yeah, shortcuts. So basically he taught me to like use some basic shortcuts back in the day, like, uh, Ctrl + C (copy) and Ctrl + V (paste).

I’m really well-versed in MS Word cos I’ve just been using it for so long and I’ve discovered a bunch of features one way or another (seriously guys use the “Styles” tab it is the best thing ever)

So two semesters ago, I was in an internship as a graphic designer or like marketing person in general. And I had not enough to do. I was like running the whole department on my own because they were cheap like that, they just took an intern and made her run  the racket and then just let me struggle because I was simultaneously the person that didn’t even have a degree and the only person that knew anything about graphic design at all. But even so, because I was very efficient, I didn't have enough to do. Like I had to work 40 hours, which was not fun and it definitely took years of my life. (We will see how many it were) And there was not enough work for me for even half of that. , so I was bored. All. The. Time. It was terrible. So I tried to find extra work that I hadn’t been assigned just to keep busy cos the 40 hours are still mandatory even if there are wasted… gods I hate this system more than I can put into words. So I was doing the most random things in between to just keep myself busy because like, otherwise I would have literally died.

So at one point I researched all the Microsoft Word shortcuts and compiled them and printed them out for myself because maybe there’d be some useful ones.

And during the internship, I didn't really get to use them a lot because I didn't really write a lot, but I ended up keeping some in mind for later.

So what I can really recommend to get used to is Ctrl + I which makes your text italic (works on tumblr on PC as well btw). And the same works with, um, Ctrl + B for bold and Ctrl + U for underline.

Next part I had to translate from the German keyboard so I hope they still work; which is the “Home” key (Pos1 in German) and the “End” key, which let you jump to the beginning and end of your line respectively (also Tumblr PC functional) The keys are above the number pad on my keyboard I don't know if this helps lol

And there's another feature that Word has that has made my life so much easier, which is in fact the autocorrect function. How it works by default is just normal word replacement, but you can customize it with your own rules. For example, my word replaces “ofc" with “of course” automatically because I created a custom rule for it, same with other text-based abbreviations and such.

Quick tutorial on how to do it, you write down the word you want (in my example, write “of course” then select it), then go to File > Options (on the bottom left) > Proofing (in the popup) > AutoCorrect options You’ll have a little table where “of course” will already be written in, you can then put “ofc" in the left box and click “Add” and bam, new autocorrect rule.

And that’s honestly so helpful, cos I don’t have to rethink the way I write on Tumblr or text and can just do the same in word.

I also literally the day this ask came in, had another idea how I could use this function (hence why we are talking about it lol, I am excited about it) You might have seen dividers using symbols on Tumblr like ▣■▣■▣■▣■ these, and normally you have to copy-paste these from somewhere cos obviously there’s no key on the keyboard for it (you will still have to on tumblr I fear, this is still Word specific, unless you write your tumblr posts in word which… I am literally writing this in word right now cos it’s relatively long and I’m paranoid to lose it) Either way, so what I did is the exact same thing, I made myself an autocorrect rule that makes /// automatically be replaced by ▣■▣■▣■▣■▣■▣■▣■▣■▣■▣■▣■▣

So now instead of a tedious copy-paste job I hit the / key three times which makes me unreasonably, stupidly happy honestly (btw if you want it to not be replaced like I just needed the /// to stay like that for explanation purposes, you can just hit Ctrl+Z)

But yeah the Tasha made herself a stupid little rule on her stupid little computer and it makes her writing process just a tad easier and she felt like she had everything figured out for a little while.

Sims 2 Stardew Valley Challenge

Toshiro Sim's Pelican Town from Stardew Valley as a neighborhood combined with the Planting Overhaul I came up with some gameplay rules to somewhat simulate playing Stardew Valley in the Sims 2.

Rules

Your sim cannot stay up past 2am. Once your sim is in bed, they cannot wake up until 6am.

If they happen to wake up for puke or pee or something and they are too awake to sleep, have them relax and not do anything until 6am.

If you need to do any maintenance on other households because of story progression, you can do it while your farmer is asleep, until 6am.

No Job! You left that life to connect with nature. Sources of income include:

Fishing 

Harvested produce

Found beach treasures

Digging for treasure. 

Any other crafts that you can get your hands on. 

You can sell the rocks and trees on your land for some cash in a pinch, but foraging and farming should be the primary sources of income.

After every season, at the beginning of the next, delete all current crops still in growing stages. . 

If there are some in harvest state you can still sell them.

Note down which seeds you still have left in your inventory. 

Save your game and switch out the seed folder for the current season folder.

Put a copy of the extra seed packages you noted down from the old season folder to the Winter folder. 

Put the winter folder in your Downloads so that your sim keeps their extra seeds.  

Sprinklers and ladybug houses are allowed if you can afford them. The greenhouse is not allowed to be used until Winter. 

The winter folder should have all the extra seeds that you noted down in rule 13. You can use those seeds in the greenhouse, but you are not allowed to buy more!

Work In Progress - Spring Rolls （春捲）

Yes, another default replacement is working. ✅

I'm making default replacement mesh & texture mod for replacing Spring Rolls that EA horribly made. The GeoStates (Full, Half, Empty) are all working.

I need time to finish this CC/Mod because the custom Spring Rolls still not looking right and not realistic enough, must be because the image I took for texture is from internet and too bright & over-saturated. The transparent still doesn't working although I use Alpha .dds.

I have to eat real Spring Rolls in real life to see how the actual Spring Rolls should look like.

Reason why I made the default replacement:

To Westerners/non-Asian people, I remind you that actual Spring Rolls look like these.

No matter in what condition and which Asian country.... Spring Rolls are put in one plate and separated from other meals. We're Asians (Chinese & Southeast Asians) do not add noodles to a plate of Spring Rolls. Spring Rolls are just Spring Rolls on plate. There might be leaf decoration, but not another carbohydrate such as noodles on same plate。 In making of Spring Rolls, skin and filling, there is no egg used.

In all of the previous team meetings, Rook is either sitting or standing and doesn't move around much.

In the meeting about Minrathous, Rook can't really stand still and keeps pacing around the room, which is fun and something I didn't notice last time because I was still shocked about Varric.

Also his default facial expression is basically "I would like to throw fireballs at Elgar'nan and Solas right now."

Shoutout to the entire team for not immediately telling him that five seconds after yanking him out of the Fade.

Oh, man, forgot about that bit. So as far as anyone knows Dorian and the other Shadow Dragon supporters in the Magisterium are toast.

Davrin reported that they're still fighting but 1) the city's blighted and 2) the Venatori sealed the gates so nobody can get it or out.

Neve - who has had a truly miserable few weeks with Harding dying and Bellara being kidnapped and Rook being gone and her city being blighted - said that "even the city's eluvians went dark" and so they can't contact the Shadow Dragons.

Rook was NOT pleased to hear about Solas popping up there.

Davrin: Now people are rallying behind the Dread Wolf like he's the only one who can save them.

Rook: He's using the Shadow Dragons and anyone else he can to give him a clear shot at Elgar'nan. Rook: Then he finishes his ritual, and the whole world drowns in demons.

The takes I've seen have mostly been about option a, but they also kind of needed a replacement dagger.

Headcanon Ramblings: The BIO in Bionicle (Part 1, Reproduction and Infanthood)

Alright, I'm gonna ramble about how each species reproduces. Scientific and some mature topics incoming, including genital descriptions.

First of all, the canon info I'm working with:

Agori are mammalian, in the sense they have live-born. I expand this to presume pectoral lactation as well, large-gamete-female and small-gamete-male, etc.

Skakdi are more organic than anything else in the MU, to the point that replacing body parts could be dangerous or fatal.

Second, a few clarifying things:

I use "Glatorian" to refer to the species. I'd make up a name for them, but this is easier for readers.

Elsewhere I put up my ramble about Bionicle timing. Generally, presume that if I use years, I am using them to compare to human development, using Matoran/Agori development as the default. In other words, a "2-year-old Matoran" is a Matoran who is cognitively similar to a 2-year-old human. A "2-year-old Makuta" is a Makuta the same chronological age as that Matoran, even though Makuta brains develop different parts at a different rate to a Matoran, etc.

Matoran, Vortixx, Skakdi, Toa, Makuta, etc, will be referred to as "Muians" or "MUians" (Matoran Universe-ians). Agori, Glatorian, Skrall, Bone Hunters, Vorox, Zesk, etc, will be referred to as "SMnans" (Spherus Magnans). Specifically, these are referring to only the sapient beings of this evolutionary line, so any time I say "All MUians" or "Of any species", for example, I'm not including, say, Tarakavas or Spikits. MUians and SMnans are biologically of the same "evolutionary line".

When the MUians were converted organic, the sexes were evened out. Many beings who had been programmed male were recreated biologically female. As gender had virtually no bearing on them beyond elements before, and "programmed male" just meant "programmed as less gentle" (according to Farshtey), this has caused minimal identity concerns.

Reproductive Anatomy

All Muians and SMnans reproduce the same way and have similar genitals and reproductive anatomy. Females contain large gametes, a uterus, two ovaries, and two pectoral mammary glands (except Takadox's species, who are partial quadrupeds and have two pelvic mammaries). All MUians and SMnans generally nurse young in an upright position while carrying their young, except Makuta (whose young can hang on their chest unaided) and Skakdi (who tend to nurse while laying on their side like dogs or cats. Despite this, Skakdi still have two pectoral mammaries).

Males contain small gametes produced in a pair of testes located under their penis.

This part is similar to humans. The part that is not similar is how these genitals are formed. MUians and SMnans do not have external genitals. Both have two orifices- Cloaca (leading to both urinary and reproductive tract) and rectal. The testes do not hang outside the body, as MUians and SMnans both do not have bodies that run hot enough to harm the sperm, and therefore the trait of them needing to be external never occurred. That being said, an observer can actually feel a male's testes through the skin on his crotch, until said male becomes uncomfortable and asks the observer to cease.

A male's penis is internal and sheathed. Upon arousal, it will move external, and when fully external, the base will swell, locking it from resheathing until it unarouses or ejaculates.

One would expect that I have some interest in lewding Bionicle, but I oddly do not. I have nothing against lewding things, and do so frequently, but for some reason, I pause at lewding Bionicle. I have been trying to work myself up to writing a lewd fanfiction on AO3, though.

Mammary glands, unlike those in humans, do not swell or remain swollen when not in use. There is some excess fat storage on the female chest, but otherwise, besides a more rounded appearance than a male's, a female's chest doesn't look that much different than a male's and does not hang off much more than a male's.

Gestation for all species generally lasts about a year, and is done exclusively by the female.

A male's abdomen is split into four sections, while a female's is split into six. During pregnancy, the two middle sections are the primary ones that stretch and grow to support the fetus.

MUian and SMnans both have much, much lower sex drives than humans do. They do have pleasure sex, and like humans they are only fertile in certain times. They also have something in between estrus and menses, although the MUians have very little understanding of this, and don't really know why most sex does not result in babies. They do understand "sperm + egg", though, as well as barrier contraceptives, but don't understand their own bodies well enough to have chemical contraceptives.

Reproduction Quirks

Agori, Zesk, Vorox, and Glatorian are incapable of breeding with each other. Glatorian were previously able to breed with an early prototype of Toa, but it is unknown if any SMnans can breed with any MUians now.

Toa, Matoran, Toa Nuva, Turaga, and Makuta are the same species, and all of them can interbreed with others. It is unknown if Turaga can breed, as shortly after the switch to organic, all Turaga were either reverted to Toa or killed by unrelated circumstances. Toa can no longer become Turaga. For clarity, I will refer to this species as "Matoran" for this section.

Toa energy is inheritable, and comes in different states:

N- Not present (Matoran)

I- Inactive (Matoran who can become a Toa)

A- Active (Toa)

Toa energy can only be inherited in the parents' state, save for N, as it is possible for any Matoran to fail to inherit any Toa energy from either parent. Two I parents cannot create an A child. and likewise two A parents or an A and N parent cannot create an I child.

The next point refers to corruption:

0- Never been corrupted (shapeshifted, exposed to Antidermis, Mutagen, or Energized Protodermis, etc) OR has been corrupted, but all traces of the corruption have been removed at the time of conception.

1- Has been corrupted, but is not actively corrupted (shapeshifted, but has since turned back BUT traces of the corruption remain).

2- Is actively corrupted (actively a Makuta in their default form, Hordika, Toa Nuva, or otherwise shapeshifted).

If a being with natural shapeshifting power, such as a Makuta, shapeshifts mostly or completely into another species and then conceives, the being will NOT inherit Makuta from them, but it may be a shadow elemental.

Corruption-1 may or may not be inherited. Corruption-2 will ALWAYS be inherited and will ALWAYS be dominant. A Makuta in their default form at the time of conception will ALWAYS create a Makuta child, regardless of the species or corruption of the parent. Likewise for Toa Nuva. The child born of Corruption-2 will have that status as their default state.

Corruption-1 also may not entirely inherit. For example, of Matau's four kids, Irunak was affected by Corruption-2 (A Rahkshi shapeshift), Oohnora was affected by Corruption-1 (mental issues of Hordika, but no physical ability to turn into one), and Kekek and Usall were affected by Corruption-1 (ability to turn physically into Hordika, but not mentally). Oohnora inherited different aspects of Corruption 1 than her siblings.

This would mean, for example, Onua is an A2. Zemya is either a 0I or 0N

This... begs the question of what happens if a Toa Nuva bonks a Makuta... and this question has yet to be answered.

Elements inherit. There are few exceptions: a prominent one is that if the baby has no shadow parents, it is rare, but possible, for the baby to be a light elemental even if it has no light elemental parents.

When a Matoran has a baby, their baby will always be the size a Matoran's baby will be, regardless of if the baby is a Matoran or Toa. Likewise, a Toa's baby will always come out the same size as any baby a Toa would have. The heights eventually even out, so a Toa born from a Matoran will start out baby Matoran-sized, and eventually be adult-Toa size. I will go into more detail in a later ramble.

Infant Matoran still need masks, although the harm of being without one can be mitigated by nutrients obtained by nursing. They are not born with masks. The tradition is to give the first born child the same mask as their mother, and the second born the same mask as their father, and any subsequent children get the same mask as their parents' close friends.

Vortixx females have an interesting trait- their bodies can work with the sperm of a male of any other species (see clarification above), take only the parts that her egg can use, and reject everything else. In this way, a female Vortixx can reproduce with a male of a different species, and the infant will always come out a full Vortixx. It is highly likely it will also come out a female. A sperm of, say, an animal, will be too far off for any use, though, and will always result in miscarriage.

As far as observed, Skakdi can only mate with other Skakdi (save the above exceptions).

Skakdi have been able to reproduce this whole time. However, no one goes to Zakaz, so no one bothered to check. Out-of-story, this is how I explained why the Skakdi didn't go extinct after Spiriah's meddling- there would be no way factories could stay standing on the island to make more Skakdi. Warlords would obviously target opposing Warlords' factories.

The only other MUians who would have known were Spiriah and Krika (the Makutas of Zakaz) who just didn't care that Skakdi could eject tiny versions of themselves, and the Shadowed One, who quickly realised the distraction this would cause, and just as quickly invented a solution.

The Piraka are... "with the pillars, sans the stones", so to speak. Due to the way Skakdi process hormones, this had little effect on them outside of fertility, with the exception of Vezon due to his nature of coming into being. Vezon has no concept of mating, nor is really able to process the act.

After the conversion to Organic, the Shadowed One quickly updated to requiring sterilization of all Dark Hunters, although he had a poor enough understanding of female anatomy that about 30% of the females came out of it with still somewhat functioning reproductive systems. Lariska's daughter is likely the only child her body will be able to produce.

Infant Development Comparisons

Matoran, Toa, Glatorian, Zesk, Vorox, and Agori have infant development similar to humans. Makuta are the only Matoran species whose development is much different, as infant Makuta are more physically able at a younger age (they can use their elemental, Kanohi, and Kraata powers starting around age 2-5, where Toa cannot until around age 10), but are more emotionally attached to their parents. We will get more into this in a later ramble.

Skakdi have the shortest wean time, at around 4-5 months. This is about when their teeth and jaw strength comes in, so weaning any past this would result in a mother with a large bite wound in lieu of a nipple. Makuta have the longest wean time, likely to strength maternal bond, as the infants can not only eat solid food, but can hunt independently years before they wean.

Mate Selection

Matoran are still very new to the concept of mate selection. As Matoran tend to stick to their own element's homeland, the standard is for Matoran to either mate with their own element, or for them to mate with someone of another element but not cohabit. The child will grow up in their same-element parent's village.

Most MUians and SMnans have a natural inclination toward monogamous pair-bonding, with some exceptions.

Matoran do not yet have much of a concept of "cheating" or "only having sex with your spouse". They do have a concept of informing their spouse and communicating extra-marital affairs, but having sex without someone besides your spouse is seen as on par with a human eating meat while their spouse is a vegetarian- the actual offense depends on the specific family dynamic the two have. For some couples, it can cause a breakup, and for others, it is seen as harmless.

Skakdi are split into two categories: Rural and Urban. Rural Skakdi are less technological, but more physically imposing, and Urban Skakdi are more technological, and live in civility. Urbans also have armies and warlords, and so have a need to control reproduction. Urban females are beaten into submission at a young age, and are assigned mates with little say. Polygyny is very common for Urbans. Bastard Skakdi are considered shameful, as is a female committing premarital sex and homosexuality for either sex.

Rural females are more dominating and aggressive than their male counterparts. Rural females critically judge a male's fathering skills- showing subpar fathering skills is enough for her to drive him off at best, or kill and feed him to her young at worst. One easy way to attract a female is to find one with one or two young kids, and father her kids until she decides he is better mate than her current one, and she will replace him with the new one and allow him to impregnate her. This benefits him, as it means if he dies, his kids will be protected by the next male. The one risk is that a male may want to make the job easier by picking off some kids- usually targeting the older ones, since they get less attention. If he is caught doing this, he's as good as dead. If he isn't, then he doesn't have to work as hard to impress the female. Because of this, Skakdi with many siblings tend to live independently as young as possible, usually around age 10, although they will remain in their mother's territory and visit her. Rural Skakdi have close bonds with their mothers well into adulthood. Also because of this, it is very common for Rural males to show affection or care to other Skakdi's kids, regardless of if he wants to impress their mother, and his natural instinct will guide him to assist an abandoned child unless he considers it too much of a hassle.

Agori's concept of mate selection is egalitarian and include cohabitation and pair child-rearing. Sex with a non-spouse is heavily frowned upon and likely to result in break-up. Likewise for Vortixx. Male Vortixx who are unmarried are given worse jobs, and so are more likely to marry to get out of that.

Shortly before the Core War up until the reformation of Spherus Magna, Agori have wanted a strict control on Glatorian numbers. Because of this, Glatorian unauthorised mating is strictly forbidden. Glatorian mating can only occur when the tribes decide together that more Glatorian are needed. Then, they will look through the records of all females who may be in heat, cross this with the available males and how recently she has had a pregnancy, and cross this with how many babies to try for. Once the females are selected, the tribes with viable males then bid for their male to mate the female, with the auction money going to the female's tribe (since they will be down a Glatorian for a while). A male can pay his tribe leaders to bid on his behalf if he wants to mate- otherwise, neither Glatorian gets a say in the matter. Once conception occurs, the male is sent back to work and has no more say in the child.

Malum has a serious genetic defect that is inherited to all of his children. Disabled Glatorian children are usually abandoned to die in the desert, so the fact that he was repeatedly forced to produce children he knew would be killed was one of the driving forces to cause him to hate the Agori.

This has most likely changed since the Reformation, although my story doesn't follow the Agori/Glatorian, so what changes have occurred are unknown.

Makuta pairs only remain together as long as child is being reared. A male will show his interest in a female by obsessively following her around and protecting her until she agrees to his advances. Once the child is reared, the two will likely remain friends, but it is unlikely they will still consider each other mates, or have a second child together, and other mating will likely be done with a different Makuta. Makuta have very little, if any, sense of jealousy for a partner having sex with someone else, but a Makuta will also not assist at all in raising offspring he suspects are not his.

In a Vorox/Zesk pack, the Zesk are free-mating and do not pair off. They perform mating actions on each other and the Vorox as a social bonding exercise, similar to bonobos. The Alpha Male Vorox will mate with any of his female Vorox, and will viciously attack other male Vorox who attempt to, even killing repeat offenders (he will ignore the horny male Zesk since they can't impregnate the female Vorox). Despite this, in a decently sized Vorox pack (averaging about 100), he cannot keep track of all females at all times, so only about 60-70% of Vorox babies are actually his. Despite this, as long as he mated the mother at least once, he will just assume her child is his even if it is not. Despite acting as if all Vorox babies in the pack are his, an Alpha Male will attack or kill disrespectful young, so most Vorox females keep their young away from the Alpha or panic if he is too close to their little ones. A new alpha taking over a pack will also kill up to half of the babies already present, sparing only those whose mothers put up a good enough fight that he considers it a waste of energy. However, outside of these rare circumstances, male Vorox, including the Alpha, are usually quite playful with young.

Malum cannot impregnate any of his Vorox, being a Glatorian. He knows the pack needs to grow in number, so when he suspects a female is in heat, he will carry out his duties as usual, and then "happen to not notice" any subordinate males who follow her off. If he sees the subordinate with the female, he must act and attack the male in order to keep his own position, but as long as he doesn't see the two mate, he can pretend he was unaware without risking his position.

The Mistress of Atrocity, Madama Butterfly is summoned by Bayonetta to lay waste on an opponent. Her powerful strikes are enough to decimate most enemies, but, as expected from an Infernal Demon, they prove most efficient against Divine targets. Incidentally, while Bayonetta in life held contracts with various Infernal Demons, most of these contracts have been rendered null and void due to her being technically "no longer alive", with only a few of them being restored as a Servant depending on her class. The one exception seems to be Madama Butterfly, with whom Bayonetta apparently had a particular bond in life, and who allows herself to be summoned by Bayonetta regardless of her current class.

I've had notes for a fan-Servant version of Bayonetta for a while. Originally I was planning to save them for later, but given the events of last week, I figured now would be more appropriate.

The first issue when designing her, oddly enough, was to figure out which Bayonetta to use, since it's very heavily implied all games feature a Bayonetta from a different universe. In the end, I chose to treat this version of Bayonetta as sort of a combination, which is why her third skill is a technique from Bayonetta 2 in spite of her default appearance being from 1.

While putting her as Caster would normally be a no-brainer, her Bullet Arts make a solid argument for her being an Archer. In the end I decided to go with Caster, giving more focus to her esoteric abilities such as the Umbran Climax and the Eyes of the World: an hypothetical Archer version would have had a kit more focused on her weapon skills, probably access to her arsenal of angelic and demonic weapons. As for her Rider version, my original idea was for her to be based on the third game, with more focus on the Demon Slave and summonings: for now, though, let's just say I'll have some different plans for her...

Unlike my previous fan-Servants, this time I actually have some hard numbers! Stats-wise, I made her sort of a glass cannon, with the highest ATK among SSR Casters (surpassing Aesc's previous record) and one of the lowest HPs (barely above Murasaki). I think this is appropriate given her canon feats: while she's shown incredible destructive powers, the times someone managed to actually hit her (Aesir in 2, Singularity in 3) she definitely felt it.

In Bayonetta's original game, the main way to increase her magic meter is to attack relentlessly, with her bullets being one of the best ways to build the gauge quickly: as such, I decided to have her Bullet Arts focus on increasing her NP Gain, rather than just giving her a battery. For the AOE finisher, she'd use her bullet hell breakdance move from the original game, allowing her to hit multiple enemies at once.

For the Witch Time skills, I tried to replicate its original workings as much as possible within FGO's limits: the five instances of Evasion reference how you can only dodge five times in a row before Bayonetta stops to pose and becomes vulnerable, while the DEF debuff keeps the original ability's effect of "leaving the opponent defenseless". Of course, since 5 Evasions without a time limit would make for a pretty strong skill in FGO, the cooldowns had to suffer.

As for her third skill, I tried to replicate the way it worked in Bayonetta 2 as much as possible, allowing for incredibly powerful damage from the normal attacks in exchange for being unable to use her Noble Phantasm. All the demerits at the end are basically to prevent allied Servants from recharging her NP Gauge and allowing her to bypass them, while the increased damage from Overcharge Levels offers more incentive to use it as a last resort.

As a result of her focus on face cards, the Noble Phantasm ended up a little lackluster. In the end, I decided to keep it simple and lore-accurate, with massive damage against a single Divine enemy (since her summons are mostly used against single bosses) and a Star bomb to replace the bonus halos you'd normally get after the button-mashing sequence.

I had a thought when I was waking up from my nap and it's that I'm tired of myself defaulting to bad faith when That Guy does or says something.

Even though a lot of those bad faith thoughts, I believe anyway, are founded based on past experiences, it shouldn't be my default, I think. That isn't a type of person I want to be, though I can't really explain that.

So, for example, my bad faith take on why That Guy makes a point of chaperoning on every field trip and being there for Son's after-school theater rehearsals is because there are tiny teenagers in leggings running around.
