Chronic Sonic pt 15

Supplies

1. Amy’s determined to get Sonic doing his physio exercises so she does them with him to make it less boring. And they are BORING. Having someone else do them with him defintely makes it easier. Constantly doing stuff every single day? not a vibe for him. Consistently doing something with another person? Slightly more manageable. Shadow covers for Amy when she’s busy with other things. This is less effective but Sonic’ll still do em with him. Shadow only offers to do it when Amy absolutely can’t because he knows Sonic will respond better to her.

2. Sonic doesn’t tell them he overheard them talking about him in pt 13. But they do notice he’s shut down a lot more. The excitement he had when Amy first arrived isn’t there anymore, but no one is really sure how to address it. Tails does not tell them he where he found Sonic. And he does not tell Sonic he went and picked him up. Sonic assumes Ivo had Sage drop him off. Why did he go there? Non-healthy reasons, I’ll tell ya that much.

3. Tails made a deal with Ivo Robotnik when Sonic first collapsed; Ivo helps Tails with building Sonic’s aids and Tails helps him with whatever he’s working on. (The not attacking is not something Tails asked him to do. Ivo says it’s because he’s busy.) From world-shattering-weapon to broken toaster to buying groceries Tails has been regularly doing things for Ivo in exchange for his help. He tells absolutely no one about this. Ivo is saved as “Tool Guy” on his phone, when he goes to visit him he tells everyone its a “supply run” which is partially true since he gets most of the parts used for Sonic’s aids from Ivo.

Bonus:

Someone said Tails was starting to look like a certain doctor with his goggles a while back and i have not stopped thinking about that since because they’re so right

Shopping for parts (and snacks). Ivo lends Tails a pair of his glasses because being in the dark lab all day and going out into the sunshine can hurt your eyes after all that. (And it’s a lot more causal than hardcore lab goggles for being out in public.)

noticed a pretty funny small detail in the show & lost legends comics

apparently the Stan twins’ bunk bed used to be next to a window. After they were grounded by Filbrick, their bed was moved to the wall just as like show… Which implies Filbrick found out how they snuck out and their bed moved there. Makes sense, they weren’t exactly subtle on hiding evidence lol

Really shows how serious business that man was, yeesh- rlly brings the funny image of his shocked face before begrudgingly moving the twins bunk bed while they were gone having their own adventure

making my peace with how lyra was characterised in the show vs the books because so much of it relies on her age and even dafne keen being only one year older than lyra when filming set her up to portray a different character from the very beginning. it doesn't seem like a huge difference but lyra being a child and not a teenager is of fundamental importance to her path in the books so it's inevitable that she was written more like a teenager in the show (and you can't stop child actors from ageing, you can only adapt the writing and directing to match how they mature). the show wrote lyra's arc in accordance with her maturing to the age of around 16, so they chose to have her grow out of her habit of lying and instead wield the power of truth to further her on her journey. it was a different journey from the books, but it got her to the same place: saving her friend and countless others with the power of storytelling and a silvertongue

I love it when you guys like all of my posts but sometimes you'll get to the veryyy old stuff and it's so embarrassing cause my art looked SO different and also THE STORY WAS SOO DIFFERENT (I retconned lot of stuff at some point)

But also I'm so glad this comic is finally being posted and seeing old posts getting attention reminds me of how much I've progressed ♡ so that's nice

The holy trinity is an internally incoherent concept. Say what you will about Muslims and Mormons, but at least they have an internally coherent view of god.

It's a good thing that God is a being of greater understanding than man then! Sometimes I'm not able to fully wrap my head around a concept but God knows a lot more than I do, so I'll just trust him

Had a dream were this artist had this wonderful art style I was so jelly over. They drew Animal Crossing/Pokemon merged. I looked up to them and started practicing their artstyle. It got me like 50+ more followers from doing that because it turned out the guy was using this advanced ai that wasn't even out to the public yet.

Also, some people even tried commissioning me, but with this new type of animal crossing coin that looked like the red coins in Mario. It could be traded with this coconut lady (she had a coconut for a head) that would come to your island and push you around until you pushed her back. Then she would respect you, and you could buy rare tropical merch and summer stuff from her tiki shop.

1 red coin = 25,000 or so normal coins ingame

Alright time for the predictable long coming post of me calling out how Wizards is not loyal to the canon at all and you guys need to hop off the novels/comics being "non-canon" or else I will go rabid and take you all down with me

1. Morgana

In S3 E8 "For the glory of Merlin" Merlin HIMSELF straight up says "she [Morgana] is as ancient as I am, perhaps more so." Yet if we take Wizards into account that is a straight up lie and can't be true

2. The Trollhunters

S1 E15 "Mudslinging" has Kanjigar say to Jim "That sword of yours has fought him [Gunmar] many times, but has never killed him." And it wouldn't make much sense for him to just be referring to Deya here considering she only fought the guy ONCE before sealing him away in Killahead

so he must be referring to multiple Trollhunters but that wouldn't make sense as again, Gunmar only ever fought Deya before being sealed away

It's almost like Deya was never intended on being the first ever Trollhunter 🤔

Which makes sense as when Blinky first introduced her in S1 E4 "Gnome your enemy" he only ever said she was the greatest, not the first. i mean i don't know guys is it crazy to have expected him to mention that if her being the first was always intended from the beginning and not something that spawned out of thin air?

And I could go on about all the inconsistencies with the actual Battle of Killahead but I feel that would just be me being nitpicky atp

Anyways read the tie-in novels and comics if you haven't, they're way more fun and enjoyable and align with the canon established more

My ons conspiracy theory is that Kagami made too many uber powerful characters and is now scrambling to pacify the ones that could realistically hinder the plot he has in mind

Like Krul could've easily solo-ed Ferid and guremahi if it weren't for the fuckass slow acting poison and for Ky, I have a secondary conspiracy theory:

Ferid already conviniently cannibalized Crowley and Krul so a thrid vamp getting eaten would've been too predictable. But Ky was set up to be way too powerful and independent to just blindly follow Yuu and Rigr and he was also able to keep up with Ferid and guremahi so again, cannibalism would've felt cheap. So in order for him to not get in the way of the plot he was conviniently turned into a demon, as demons have little agency outside of mildly infuencing their host sometimes

This ties into my older complaint of Mikayuu losing a lot of potential for meaningful conflict once Mika became Yuu's demon because of how little agency demons get (elaborated on this here)

more half-baked Gladio musings for the masses

I think Gladio doesn’t know how to Drop It. When he finds a problem, he will resolve it one way or another.

It is not always the best solution that he picks.

I bring this up specifically in reference to the argument on the train and Gladio’s DLC.

On the train, Gladio decides that there’s too much tension and too much unsaid and Noctis is stagnating in his despair again and they don’t have the luxury of time to let him ride it out. Not to mention the ruins of Altissia and Iggy’s blindness and noct nearly dying (while Gladio was half way across the city able to do naught but sit on his hands) and the encroaching dark and the whole world falling apart around their ears. So he snaps and forces the issues that can be resolved. Even though he knows *damn* well that it’s not what Noctis needs (because he is on multiple occasions characterized as legitimately charismatic), not really what any of them need. On the laundry list of mostly unsolvable problems, getting Noctis to step up and put on the ring and *keep moving* is achievable. He can fix that. So he does his level best to make it happen even if that bar is somewhere in hell.

The way he sets out for his DLC much earlier in the game is what leads me to him needing to solve problems, not just being the sort to force a conversation. Because he really, really doesn’t talk with Noct at all about it. He just tells Noct he needs to deal with some stuff and he’ll catch up to them. And then he goes and solves the issue of his self confidence for a week despite it taking him into a canyon known for killing all who enter (save for Cor because Cool Factor TM). Regardless, it’s still forceful but immediate problem solving because he can’t drop the issue of Ravus besting him. So he has to Fix It.
