NOW OUT: Maid to Serve, a roleplaying game of action, romance, and chores

Maid to Serve is aroleplaying game where players take on the roles of Maids and Butlers as they compete for the heart of their Lords and Ladies. Going about their daily chores in this Slice of Life game of small problems and big reactions, Maids of a variety of personalities and backgrounds can seek out love and friendship.

Setting agnostic and making no assumptions for gender or sexuality, Maids can be a part of any world or story. From helping their Lords or Ladies in the castles of fantasy worlds or manors of the past to space stations and alien planets of sci-fi settings and the future. Any setting, preexisting or not, can be adapted to Maid to Serve, and creativity is the limit.

The thing that draws me most to this fandom, and the things that makes it unique, is that by the mere nature of the works we love, everyone's Arda is different. And not just in the usual headcanon-y ways that are typical of every story, but even down to important plot and characterization points.

Who is Gil-Galad? What is the Oath and what does it have power to do? What really is the Dagor Dagorath? How do the Laws Of The Universe work?

And beyond that- what parts of HoME do you pick and choose? LaCE? Does anyone try and work with Tolkien's horrendous math? Have you taken parts of your Arda from older or other worlds, with the Cottage of Lost Play and the exile of the Gnomes?

Have you given names to the wives and daughters? What do they mean- who are they? Mother-names or father-names for those who only had one?

I just really love how even when two interpretations of the same world seem utterly incompatible, they aren't. I'd love to see other additions/headcanons!

Woohoo! Time to break the mold! Yeesh, it's been crusting for months.

Where have I and Indie Tourney been? The simple answer is: college. It's been one ride after another both fun and challenging, sometimes one or the other, and other times both. I've been spending a lot of time meeting new friends, exploring my surroundings, and tackling a load of academics along with the search for internships and jobs. When it seems the world is throwing every responsibility at you, the best thing I can do is take my time and approach the way I think best, and that meant putting a hold on my projects... for now!

I've been itching to find a time where I can relax and populate this world once more. That time... has arrived!

Traveling Companions - A busy and bustling city of innovation and exploration, credited with popularizing the very term, "mobile", of course must fit the bill with snazzy, techy adornments. You can even spy various ships out in the river, stacked with valuable cargo and intrepid passengers hungry to unlock the secrets of the puzzle island. In the rural outskirts, you can also see Crazy Dave's Lawn, primed to play line defense.

The Chessmasters - We've spread our resources and set up camp throughout the forests. Hidden from the populous cities, these woods will allow us to carry out our operations and plot strategies with minimal chances of espionage leaking our plans to the enemy. Meet in the central camp right after our guided tour of the Pit. We are to discuss movement towards securing the Indie Artifact.

Like Clockwork - The grandest of optimizers have cleared an entire reach of the forest in the name of sheer statistics and economy. Their generators, conveyor lines, and automated logic circuits are unlike any other, and not only that... they seem to be diverging a handful of their power supply to fighting back against blue, ravenous fluid known only as Creeper. Goodness knows whether this scale of deforestation is truly justified...

As morning sunlight swept past the newly opened blinds, Daniel Walden’s eyes flickered open to his forty-fifth year of life. A smile crossed his features as he woke, prompted by his lover next to him. “Good morning…” Daniel murmured, voice husky and still wrecked with sleep. Nevertheless, he added, “Quite the birthday gift… and I’ve only been awake for a few seconds.” 

He laughed to the obvious flirtation within his teasing quip, his gaze remaining on their face briefly before it dropped down once more to admire their figure. All the while, Daniel remained in his lain position, head comfortably on his pillow and body encased snugly beneath the duvet, covering the fact he didn’t have a stitch of clothing on him. 

Mere moments after his laugh, Daniel added “How does it feel, though? Being with a guy who is now officially in his mid-forties? Oh so close to being halfway to fifty.”
