Sweet Void Cinema is located at 3036 W Chicago Ave 1W, Chicago IL, 60622. Tickets go on sale at peripheriesfestival.com on September 2nd. Tickets also available at the door.

8:30PM - BODY PROP by M. Woods (2024) 75’ BODY PROP is an avant-garde essay film and attack against the ontology of white imperialism. Made of mostly hand-processed super 8 film, 16mm, and archival video. The piece, in five movements, takes on the subject of the Body as a prop, as a body politic, as a simulation, and as a necropolitical expense, creating a “Cadaver Decomposition Island” of discarded scraps of Super 8 and archival material to reveal the shadow of US nihilism within the advanced stage of hyperreality.

Select movements from Body Prop have been screened internationally including at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, VideoEx, Peripheries Experimental Film & Video Festival, the Ann Arbor Film Festival, and the Athens International Film and Video Festival.

i’ve  been  thinking  about  making  a  sideblog  for  carrd/doc  set  ups.  so  like.  you  can  submit  a  form  to  request  i  set  up  your  carrd/doc  for  you,  you  would  just  have  to  provide  the  graphics.  either  you  comm  them  from  someone  or  make  your  own.  but  i  know  that  some  people  struggle  with  laying  out  stuff  and  i  enjoy  doing  that  part  (  i  hate  doing  the  graphics  )  -  obvs,  i’d  be  doing  this  for  free.  does  this  ???  sound  like  something  people  would  be  interested  in  ???

La tercera edición del festival de cine documental e independiente coreano ha seguido la estela de otros festivales que se iban a celebrar durante el estado de alarma. Una vez más, ha sido Filmin la sede virtual este certamen que, en esta ocasión, ha puesto su foco en la realización de directoras coreanas. i’m  ngl  i  had  a  lot  of  fun  remaking  my  carrd  and  i’m  going  to  start  working  on  one  for  ench  later  today  but  .  .  .  ik  it’s  not  necessarily  easy  for  everyone  and  i’m  no  expert  by  any  means  but  if  anyone  ever  needs  any  help  or  wants  me  to  format  theirs  for  them,  hmu.  i  suck  at  graphics  though  so  like,  unless  you  want  the  absolute  bare  minimum,  bring  those  with  you.
