I have finally done my e injection by myself for the first time in months after getting vasovagal type stuff for the first time ever. I had already been doing them on my own for a while, but when my pharmacy mistakenly only sent me 1 needle tip type, the 18 gauge ones, I still tried to do the injection =w= Apparently that's the about same size as epipens.

For various medical reasons I've had a lot of bloodwork and injections over my life, and never once, even as a small kid, was I ever bothered by them. I didn't know vasovagal was a thing until a friend had told me about it a year prior, I just assumed it was a general experience of disdain for an understandably uncomfortable type of situation. Reading about the medical explanation gave me a whole new appreciation for how tough this sort of stuff is for some folks ;w;

It threw me for such a loop, and thankfully I didn't pass out fully, but it was enough that I got that same rush every time I tried to do it on my own. Still completely fine whenever someone else did them for me, but yeah, it was tough!

And now I've finally surpassed that again for the first time >w< I feel so proud, and even moreso thankful for hoid and momusu's support... I love my friends <3 ;w; I'm still a bit woozy, even though it was nowhere near as bad, but I wanted to write this post cause I'm so damn happy.

apparently my insurance told my doctor what I need to do to get injections covered in April and they just never told me. I'm super annoyed

ive been on oral estradiol for 4 years, and my doctor didn't state that when submitting the prior auth, and insurance responded to them telling them that I need to try oral and patches before they'll approve injections.

insurance person was great, she basically said to try patches for three weeks and then have them resubmit the prior auth and mark it urgent, then it can be handled within 24 hours or so

all insurances are different of course, but if you're having trouble getting injections covered, or want to be prepared for it, oral and patches first might be good just to appease the archaic, capitalist, and inhumane institution of insurance 8)
