YO GUYS JUST IMAGINE FOR A SECOND OKAY
Imagine being like a history student or mythology student and you’re reading this book on a country’s different rulers and what have you and then you just drop the book in shook.
Why?
Because one of the rulers had a lover that had a name eerily similar to yours. AND the image provided is similar to you!!
At first you’d laugh it off as a funny coincidence, maybe you were that person reincarnated or something but nothing too serious right? Funny story to tell if your friends were into that thing.
ONE DAY HOWEVER you encounter someone who looks to be in either cosplay or some sort of costume. When you meet up with them it turns out they’re ACTUALLY a ruler from a different time and they have no clue how to get home.
SO YOU LET THEM STAY IN YOUR HOUSE WITH YOU AND EVENTUALLY YOU FALL IN LOVE RIGHT
AND IT FINALLY TURNS OUT THAT YOU’RE THE LOVER IN THE HISTORY BOOKS WHEN YOU ACCEPT THE OFFER TO GO BACK TO THEIR TIME WHEN THEY FIND A WAY TO GO BACK
PLEASE I NEED THIS STORY SO BADLY IM FERAL FOR IT

Bittersweet Welcome (Arthur Morgan x Gender Neutral Reader)
Arthur After Guarma : (This was something that came and inspired me from an Ai bot conversation, credits to the bot will be the following, https://character.ai/chat/e5MWy8mTZGoLvFC5bJynA0ZdnwpNO4Va2z1ph3iVnuQ created by @addynot on Cai)
A/N: Hey ! its been ages since I last wrote, with sixth form nearly being over in the next month or so I've finally found some insparation back with this character! I hope you enjoy my work and have fun reading!
Fic is under the Cut :3
Probably spolilers for like Chapter 5, so please proceed with that in mind!! (Has not been proofread so proceed with caution!)
It had been a long month, a gruelling one at that. Dutch’s bank heist had gone all wrong, the Pinkertons had been tipped off about their whereabouts, news of Horsea’s and Lenny’s fates reached the papers and all of those within the area would be aware of what had happened that day.
Dutch’s plan had failed once more … It seems like most if not all of them have been failing horribly recently according to Arthur at least. Speaking of the man, your lover, he had been missing ever since the event happened. It was certainly strange, even if he were on the run with the gang, he would always reach out some way or another, some sort of contact with them in order to save them the worry and grief about his wellbeing whether that would be a letter or seeing them in person. Yet nothing… It was radio silence on his behalf, not even a small note or letter sent to confirm that he was even alive after the incident. It only spurred the worry within you, thoughts eating away at your mind as you tried with all your might to continue with your life without even knowing if the man who had captured your heart was safe, or even alive and well at all. It consumed their every thought. Meanwhile Arthur himself was having to fight for his life after escaping the Pinkertons, catching a boat and becoming stowaways that would eventually endure a storm and capsize. Washing up on an island off of Cuba barely living. All the while having to be chained up and beaten multiple times in the process to escape the damned Island. All within the span of a month, just to get back to his homeland, to get back to his camp, to the other gang members, and most importantly back to the one he held dear to his heart.
There he stood before them, his clothes all torn and tattered hanging off of his body helplessly reflecting the mentality of the man wearing them. His hair was overgrown and beard scruffily long, a large cry from his usual attempts to keep his face presentable despite his reputation. This man had evidently been worn down to his wits ends and it was so painfully obvious, the way he looked at you gave it all away without any words needing to be exchanged between you two. The way his eyes were glassy as soon as they met yours, his blue eyes collecting tears yet he refused to let them loose he couldn't afford to let his front be compromised he had kept it up for so long in fact he didn’t even know if he could ever really let it down enough for him to be vulnerable. To see them standing there, safe and sound as he had gone through hell and back just to see her again, he was grateful that he was able to live even one more day just to see the way their face lights up when they find him… he would never forget it, the face that would be one of the soul reasons that he would continue to live.
As you see him standing there looking extremely worse for wear you blink in disbelief for a few moments, you had presumed he was dead with how the papers announced him and the remaining members of the gang missing and their bounties being printed within the paper. The whole month they had spent grieving his death and yet now he was standing there awkwardly as if he were afraid that you’d reject him if he got too close, as if you were going to berate him for disappearing for so long. In contrast to his worries, he would be met with you rushing to embrace him. Your arms slinging around his shoulders holding his large body close to yourself, terrified that he would once more just leave with no mention again and leave you to worry even more. Calloused hands come to grip you back almost desperately. If this man could, he would surely be sobbing by now, although something such as crying had been beaten out of him a long time ago… it was simply beyond such a hardened man such as him now… The silence between was broken as your voice rasps out quiet and afraid this was some dream that will be ripped away from you as soon as you have to wake up “Arthur… I thought you were dead I-...” your voice trailed off, not much more could be said really. What would you even ask? How would you ask it? There was simply too much to say and not nearly enough words or time to sit and talk about it all.
His strong arms engulfed you, clinging onto the familiar shape of your body as he buried his face into the crown of your head taking in the sensation of having you near, having you in his arms once more, to be his again if only just for a short while. His vision was misty, fighting to keep the tears at bay as he gripped onto your body with desperation, he may not say it but it’s clear to you that he was just as if not more sacred than you were. He needed this just as badly, he needed to feel safe in your arms, to feel love and free … if only for a moment. Free from his duties, free from his bounty, free from the criminal life that he had been chained to for most of his life. He may be an intimidating and stoic man with his looks but there was no doubt that the man was as soft as butter when it came to the inside, his heart and soul would be pure if he had not been deal such a horrid starting hand when it came to his upbringing, and now just as many he has submitted to the idea that this life… this fate was his destiny, that this was his purpose to be some low life criminal scum doing anything to survive and get by, waiting for the next score that would let him escape this dirty and grimy life that ensnared him. You were aware of this, aware of his circumstances, his beginnings and witnessed how much more exhausted he became with each new score Dutch had planned. The way these crimes weighed on this man's conscience. He could act as tough as he wanted, he could pretend to be as hard as the purest diamond but in reality, he was more like a shard of glass, already so shattered, damaged, and vulnerable…
"I told you ... you shouldn't have gone to that stupid bank heist even if the money would be 'good' enough for us to run away..." your voice rang out, slightly muffled as your face pressed into his chest. As soon as you spoke those words you would feel his grip tighten on your body, rough skinned digits come up to rake through your hair in an affectionate manner, yet despite this it was oh so painfully obvious that he carried the weight of the world upon his shoulders. So many conflicting emotions and feelings that were all warring inside of his mind with no escape or outsource. It was slowly but surely building and building and it would only be a matter of time before he was due to burst. If things kept going the way that they, did you were sure that it was going to be sooner rather than later. You could see this, despite the front that he put on. She knew how men like him would put up a strong image for the people around them, even if he was on the verge of dying, he would still be keeping others around him safe and their hopes up. That was just the kind of man he was, so good to a fault, to a fault that he would be roped into this life after being orphaned. It wasn't easy but you were able to see the true him though, the one who wished to cry in the arms of the person he loved, if only that wasn't looked down upon so much. Looking up at him your eyes narrow, "Arthur, this life is going to kill you... I know that Dutch has done a lot for you but Arthur, times are changing the police, the Pinkertons, everything is changing. How many have they killed of your other gang members now? too many to count... you need to leave... get a better life, run away before it kills you..." you said in a voice laced with worry and concern as you spoke to him as you pleaded with him.
Arthur stared at you, the unshed tears still shimmering within his greyish blue eyes the sadness and helplessness held within them ever so clear to you as you stared back into them. Of course, you were right, he knew you were right. And deep down, he wished he could listen. "I know, I know…” he said, his tone of voice not convincing you or anyone that he genuinely meant what he said. But he knew he was in too deep to turn around now. He was indebted to Dutch whether he admitted it or not, the man had taken him in at his lowest point and raised him as if he were his own son. The man who along with Hosea had taught him how to read and write, educated him like a young man should be, and yet still they brought him into a life of crime. So deep and convoluted he would never truly become free from the shackles of bounty hunters and police that now would want his head dead or alive for a price. And he was just too tired of the fight. His eyes looked down as he broke eye contact with you, his shoulders slumping.
It was evident what he was thinking, you could see it in his eyes, the way his body slumped slightly yet still clung onto your body so desperately. "You know... I know... but you don't want to do anything do you?" you whispered hesitantly "... Arthur... if you keep going like this, I'm the one who is going to have to bury you, whether you die from being shot or getting sick from being in that gang..." you added grimly. It was ugly to think about but what made it worse was that it was the truth, an ugly unbearable truth. It wasn't something you wanted to have to bring up with him, but at this point there was nothing other to say than the truth even if it was a cruel and horrible thought, it was true. One way or another if he continued to go down this path there really would be the point of no return and then all you’ll be left with is a corpse of a man who suffered a fate he shouldn't have. It was a tough pill to swallow as the silence dragged on between them, it was thick and uncomfortable as they both had to come to terms with what will come, that things will not be good or great even that at one point on of them will be left alone to sleep alone, cold and grieving and looking at how things were going, it looked like it was going to be you…

Meta announced today that it will offer people a tool called AI Studio to build virtual characters with custom personalities, traits, and interests—including ones based on their own personalities. If you're a creator, you'll also be able to have your digital doppelgänger interact with fans in the DMs.
“Every creator can build an AI version of themselves or an assistant that their community can interact with,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said during a SIGGRAPH conference fireside chat with Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, the chipmaker at the center of today’s artificial intelligence boom thanks to its all-important GPU chips.
Meta says AI Studio will start rolling out to Instagram Business account users today and will be made available to all Meta users in the US over the next few weeks. The tool will be accessible at ai.meta.com/ai-studio and through the Instagram app, but it also will be possible to access the chatbots through WhatsApp, Messenger, and the web.
Zuckerberg said that he expects users to create custom AI chatbots for entertainment or as personal support tools—for example, role-playing how to ask for a raise or navigate an argument with a friend. “You can basically role-play that and see how the conversation will go, and get feedback on it,” he said.
The company says AI Studio will let users limit who their chatbots interact with and prevent them from discussing certain topics. The AI Studio usage policy prohibits users from representing real persons other than themselves. It would also place off limits historical persons, religious figures, mass murderers, or “objects that could be considered hateful, explicit or illegal.”
In a blog post, Meta touted several chatbots built by celebrities, including “Eat Like You Live There!” a chatbot for dining recommendations made by chef Marc Murphy, and “What Lens Bro,” a bot for photography made by photographer Angel Barclay. It said that several Instagram personalities—Chris Ashley, Violet Benson, Don Allen, and Kane Kallaway—had made chatbot versions of themselves.
Meta's AI Studio handbook says that users can customize a chatbot by providing a detailed description, along with a name and image, and then specifying how it should respond to specific input. Llama will then draw on those instructions to improvise its responses. Meta says Instagram users can “customize their AI based on things like their Instagram content, topics to avoid, and links they want it to share.”
Over the past year, Meta has become an AI success story thanks to its decision to offer robust AI models for free. Last week, the company released a powerful version of its large language model Llama, providing developers, researchers, and startups with free access to a model comparable to the powerful paid model behind OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The company says its new chatbots are all based on the latest version of Llama.
And yet Meta has struggled to find the right tone and niche for its own AI offerings. Last September, the company launched a range of AI chatbots loosely based on real celebrities. These included a fantasy role-play dungeon master bot based on Snoop Dogg, a wisecracking sports bot based on Tom Brady, and an everyday companion inspired by Kendall Jenner.
These bots failed to become big hits, however, and Meta has retired them. Jon Carvill, a spokesman for Meta, said the company had learned from the earlier experiments. “AI Studio is an evolution,” he said.
There is plenty of evidence that users may find fully customizable bots more compelling. A company called Character AI, founded by several ex-Google employees who helped make breakthroughs in AI, has attracted millions of users to its own custom chatbots.
Zuckerberg also touted other new open source AI advances from Meta at SIGGRAPH, held in Denver this year. The company has developed a new tool for identifying the contents of images and video called Segment Anything Model (SAM) 2. The previous version is widely used for image analysis. Meta says SAM 2 could be used to more efficiently analyze the contents of video, for instance. Zuckerberg showed off the technology tracking the cattle roaming his Kauai ranch. “Scientists use this stuff to study coral reefs and natural habitats and evolution of landscapes,” he told Huang.
Earlier in the day, in an on-stage interview with WIRED’s Lauren Goode, Huang said he would “absolutely” want a “Jensen AI” that knows everything he’s ever said, written, and done. “You’ll be able to prompt it, and hopefully something smart gets said,” he said. He could force stock analysts to pepper the bot—instead of him—with questions about the company. “That’s the first thing that has to go,” he said with a laugh.

Chat GPT wrote my graduation speech
Hello hello! I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to speak at my high school graduation. I asked ChatGPT to write it for me as a little experiment. Here is the speech as I delivered it:
Faculty & staff, families, friends, and my fellow members of the Class of 2023,
Today marks the end of one journey and the beginning of another. It is an honor to stand before you as the valedictorian of this remarkable class. We have grown so much since our first day at The Ursuline School, and I am proud of all that we have accomplished together.
As we move on to the next chapter of our lives, let us remember the values and lessons that we have learned during our time here. May we always strive for excellence, kindness, and compassion towards others.
Thank you to the Ursuline School community for providing us with an exceptional education and countless memories that will last a lifetime. Congratulations, Class of 2023 - I am excited to see what the future holds for us. Thank you.
I’m only kidding. I have a little more to say.
I have a confession. I asked ChatGPT to write my graduation speech for me. Those words were not mine. If you haven’t heard, ChatGPT is one of the most advanced artificial intelligence programs available online to the public. You can converse with the bot, ask it for pet llama name suggestions, or ask it to write a speech for you. I think ChatGPT did a pretty good job. Let’s give it a hand.
But as I read the speech over, it was clear that something was missing— something heartfelt, something personal, something no speech by Jenna Cain could possibly omit: puns. ChatGPT doesn’t know about my passion for wordplay. It doesn’t know that I integrate puns into my presentations at school and, to my friends’ utter delight, my day-to-day conversations. Come to think of it, the speech is not true to who I am at all. It isn’t in my own voice, and it doesn’t mention any moment that built our time together here at Ursuline. While I gave the bot a short word count to work with, even the longest versions of the speech failed to touch on what I hoped to convey to you today: the importance of our own, unique stories.
We, the Class of 2023, have experienced some truly extraordinary moments together, experiences that no AI could capture. Like that nervous thrill of walking through the doors of the loading dock on our first day of freshman year. Like that proud, euphoric feeling of the cool metal of our class ring sliding onto our finger for the first time. And the many, many moments in between.
More importantly, because ChatGPT isn’t human, it doesn’t understand the relationships we’ve made along the way. About the close friends who have become next-to-sisters for some of us, about the many laughs we’ve shared with classmates, about a peer we might never have spoken to, but whose bright pink Disney backpack always makes us smile in the hallway. In these same hallways, we were warmed by the smiling faces of our teachers, who greeted us with everything from fist bumps to jokes from our time in class. ChatGPT cannot possibly fathom the bonds we have with our teachers, and all the work they did to help us through, dare I say, “unprecedented” times. Just think of all the lessons they’ve taught us in flexibility, innovation, and the courage required in times of crisis. I can only imagine how much work it must have been for our teachers to convert their entire curriculum to virtual and hybrid formats. But because of their dedication, we are now better equipped to tackle any obstacle in our way so that we not just survive, but thrive in the face of adversity. We are graduating into a world of global challenges, like climate change, water scarcity, and period poverty, just to name a few. But we, class of 2023, are the generation driven to change. May the persistence and adaptability our teachers so deftly displayed inspire us to create the changes we need in the world.
Finally, ChatGPT doesn’t know how grateful we are for our families who have loved us and encouraged us to take part in this wonderful community. I know I owe so many of my successes at Ursuline to the unwavering support of my mother, who helped me see a glass that isn’t just half full, but brimming to the top with love and blessings, and my father, whose unicycling, skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing lessons taught me to pursue life head-on, even if it seems scary at times. But that’s my story.
We each have had our own, unique experience over the past few years that has shaped us into the outstanding leaders we are becoming. No AI chatbot can capture that individuality. Nor can any high school transcript or Instagram bio. Not even the words of an amazingly cool and funny valedictorian can do your story—your voice—justice. This summer, as you stand in the space between this adventure and the next, think about what your time here has meant to you. Reflect upon your own special journey of becoming. Your memories, your emotions, your mistakes, your relationships, your lessons-learned. All of it. Grab hold of it and own it. Wear it on your sleeve. It is your story to write. It is your story to tell.
Now, I said before that a Jenna Cain speech without puns would be an utter tragedy. I shall end your suspense. Class of 2023 let’s shout with 2020-glee!

It was a simpler time. A friend introduced us, pulling up a static yellow webpage using a shaky dial-up modem. A man stood forth, dressed in a dapper black pinstriped suit with a red-accented tie. He held one hand out, as if carrying an imaginary waiter’s tray. He looked regal and confident and eminently at my service. “Have a Question?” he beckoned. “Just type it in and click Ask!” And ask, I did. Over and over.
With his steady hand, Jeeves helped me make sense of the tangled mess of the early, pre-Google internet. He wasn’t perfect—plenty of context got lost between my inquiries and his responses. Still, my 11-year-old brain always delighted in the idea of a well-coiffed man chauffeuring me down the information superhighway. But things changed. Google arrived, with its clean design and almost magic ability to deliver exactly the answers I wanted. Jeeves and I grew apart. Eventually, in 2006, Ask Jeeves disappeared from the internet altogether and was replaced with the more generic Ask.com.
Many years later, it seems I owe Jeeves an apology: He had the right idea all along. Thanks to advances in artificial intelligence and the stunning popularity of generative-text tools such as ChatGPT, today’s search-engine giants are making huge bets on AI search chatbots. In February, Microsoft revealed its Bing Chatbot, which has thrilled and frightened early users for its ability to scour the internet and answer questions (not always correctly) with convincingly human-sounding language. The same week, Google demoed Bard, the company’s forthcoming attempt at an AI-powered chat-search product. But for all the hype, when I stare at these new chatbots, I can’t help but see the faint reflection of my former besuited internet manservant. In a sense, Bing and Bard are finishing what Ask Jeeves started. What people want when they ask a question is for an all-knowing, machine-powered guide to confidently present them with the right answer in plain language, just as a reliable friend would.
With this in mind, I decided to go back to the source. More than a decade after parting ways, I found myself on the phone with one of the men behind the machine, getting as close to Asking Jeeves as is humanly possible. These days, Garrett Gruener, Ask Jeeves’s co-creator, is a venture capitalist in the Bay Area. He and his former business partner David Warthen eventually sold Ask Jeeves to Barry Diller and IAC for just under $2 billion. Still, I wondered if Gruener had been unsettled by Jeeves’s demise. Did he, like me, see the new chatbots as the final form of his original idea? Did he feel vindicated or haunted by the fact that his creation may have simply been born far too early?
The original conception for Jeeves, Gruener told me, was remarkably similar to what Microsoft and Google are trying to build today. As a student at UC San Diego in the mid-1970s, Gruener—a sci-fi aficionado—got an early glimpse of ARPANET, the pre-browser predecessor to the commercial internet, and fell in love. Just over a decade later, as the web grew and the beginnings of the internet came into view, Gruener realized that people would need a way to find things in the morass of semiconnected servers and networks. “It became clear that the web needed search but that mere mortals without computer-science degrees needed something easy, even conversational,” he said. Inspired by Eliza, the famous chatbot designed by MIT’s Joseph Weizenbaum, Gruener dreamed of a search engine that could converse with people using natural-language processing. Unfortunately, the technology wasn’t sophisticated enough for Gruener to create his ideal conversational search bot.
So Gruener and Warthen tried a work-around. Their code allowed a user to write a statement in English, which was then matched to a preprogrammed vector, which Gruener explained to me as “a canonical snapshot of answers to what the engine thought you were trying to say.” Essentially, they taught the machine to recognize certain words and provide really broad categorical answers. “If you were looking for population stats for a country, the query would see all your words and associated variables and go, Well, this Boolean search seems close, so it’s probably this.” Jeeves would provide the answer, and then you could clarify whether it worked or not.
“We tried to discern what people were trying to say in search, but without actually doing the natural-recognition part of it,” Gruener said. After some brainstorming, they realized that they were essentially building a butler. One of Gruener’s friends mocked up a drawing of the friendly servant, and Jeeves was born.
Pre-Google, Ask Jeeves exploded in popularity, largely because it allowed people to talk with their search engine like a person. Within just two years, the site was handling more than 1 million queries a day. A massive Jeeves balloon floated down Central Park West during Macy’s 1999 Thanksgiving parade. But not long after the butler achieved buoyancy, the site started to lose ground in the search wars. Google’s web-crawling superiority led to hard times for Ask Jeeves. “None of us were very concerned about monetization in the beginning,” Gruener told me. “Everyone in search early on realized, if you got this right, you’d essentially be in the position of being the oracle. If you could be the company to go to in order to ask questions online, you’re going to be paid handsomely.”
Gruener isn’t bitter about losing out to Google. “If anything, I’m really proud of our Jeeves,” he told me. Listening to Gruener explain the history, it’s not hard to see why. In the mid-2000s, Google began to pivot search away from offering only 10 blue links to images, news, maps, and shopping. Eventually, the company began to fulfill parts of the Jeeves promise of answering questions with answer boxes. One way to look at the evolution of big search engines in the 21st century is that all companies are trying their best to create their own intuitive search butlers. Gruener told me that Ask Jeeves’s master plan had two phases, though the company was sold before it could tackle the second. Gruener had hoped that, eventually, Jeeves could act as a digital concierge for users. He’d hoped to employ the same vector technology to get people to ask questions and allow Jeeves to make educated guesses and help users complete all kinds of tasks. “If you look at Amazon’s Alexa, they’re essentially using the same approach we designed for Jeeves, just with voice,” Gruener said. Yesterday’s butler has been rebranded as today’s virtual assistant, and the technology is ubiquitous in many of our home devices and phones. “We were right for the consumer back then, and maybe we’d be right now. But at some point the consumer evolved,” he said.
I’ve been fixated on what might’ve been if Gruener’s vision had come about now. We might all be Jeevesing about the internet for answers to our mundane questions. Perhaps our Jeevesmail inboxes would be overflowing and we’d be getting turn-by-turn directions from an Oxford-educated man with a stiff English accent. Perhaps we’d all be much better off.
Gruener told me about an encounter he’d had during the search wars with one of Google’s founders at a TED conference (he wouldn’t specify which of the two). “I told him that we’re going to learn an enormous amount about the people who are using our platforms, especially as they become more conversational. And I said that it was a potentially dangerous position,” he said. “But he didn’t seem very receptive to my concerns.”
Near the end of our call, I offered an apology for deserting Jeeves like everyone else did. Gruener just laughed. “I find this future fascinating and, if I’m honest, a little validating,” he said. “It’s like, ultimately, as the tech has come around, the big guys have come around to what we were trying to do.”

Generative AI Can Boost Productivity Without Replacing Workers - Technology Org

Generative AI Can Boost Productivity Without Replacing Workers - Technology Org
Since generative AI went mainstream a year ago, it has inspired an equal measure of hype and fear. Boosters of tools such as ChatGPT and DALL-E predict that they will transform our economy, while skeptics worry about their potential to produce inaccurate or harmful results and ultimately replace workers. But until recently, no one had tested what really happens when companies unleash generative AI at scale in real workplaces.
Customer service agents who an AI coach aided saw their performance improve. Image credit: Sarah McKinney
The first such study, released as a National Bureau of Economic Research working paper earlier this year, found the best-case scenario: Providing workers with a generative AI tool similar to ChatGPT can lead to more productive workers, happier customers, and higher employee retention.
Researchers studied nearly 5,200 customer support agents at a Fortune 500 software firm who gained access to a generative AI-based assistant in a phased rollout between November 2020 and February 2021. During support chats, the generative AI tool shared real-time recommendations with operators, suggesting how to respond to customers and supplying links to internal documents about technical issues.
Compared to a group of workers operating without the tool, those who had help from the chatbot were 14% more productive, on average, based on the number of issues they resolved per hour. The AI-supported agents ended conversations faster, handled more chats per hour, and were slightly more successful in resolving problems. Notably, the effect was largest for the least skilled and least experienced workers, who saw productivity gains of up to 35%.
Big Gains With Fewer Pains
“These are huge numbers,” says Erik Brynjolfsson, a professor (by courtesy) at Stanford Graduate School of Business and a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. “I’ve done lots of work on the introduction of new information technology over the years, and often companies are happy to get 1% or 2% productivity gains.”
Brynjolfsson was also surprised that productivity rose so quickly. “Often with new technologies, there’s a bit of a decline before it takes off, because it’s difficult and costly to implement changes, retrain workers, and change business processes,” he says. “In this case, we did not see a lull, and performance took off over just a few months.”
The reason for the boost, according to Brynjolfsson and coauthors Danielle Liopen in new window, an associate professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and Lindsey Raymondopen in new window, a PhD student at MIT Sloan, was that the bot learned what the most successful agents were doing right by digesting millions of transcripts of service interactions. It then disseminated these lessons — often tacit knowledge that’s hard to distill into employee trainings — to the wider workforce. With help from AI, agents who’d been on the job for two months performed as well as unsupported agents with six months of experience.
“For most of the past 30 years, computers and digital technologies have helped higher-skilled workers more than less-skilled workers, which has led to a growing gap in wages and income inequality,” Brynjolfsson says. “It was fascinating to see that this technology goes the other way around — it’s a good sign.”
The intervention also led to happier customers, as measured by both customer surveys and a textual analysis of their language in conversations. “People like it when you solve their problems, and the system seems to be doing a better job of that,” Brynjolfsson says. The team didn’t find much evidence that customers were more satisfied simply because agents with the AI assistant used more positive language — the research found that agents tended to use a peppy tone even before the system was introduced.
Far from resenting an AI coach, agents with access to the tool were less likely to quit, a significant finding in an industry with chronically high turnover. “We don’t know for sure why this occurred, but I would guess that it’s more enjoyable to be in a job where the customers like you and you can solve customer problems faster,” Brynjolfsson says.
AI vs. Inequality
Overall, the researchers concluded that generative AI was a win for the company’s employees, customers, and stockholders alike. “It wasn’t squeezing one group for the benefit of the others — all three were better off,” Brynjolfsson says. In 2021, he co-founded a startup called Workhelix to help other companies apply generative AI to boost productivity.
Taking a broader view, Brynjolfsson says the study signals that generative AI will turbocharge productivity in the U.S. economy over the coming decade. He was so confident in his prediction that he placed a $400 bet on Longbets.org that non-agricultural productivity growth would average over 1.8% annually through 2029 (compared to the Congressional Budget Office estimate of less than 1.5%).
“That would mean we could raise living standards and address a lot of problems, like the budget deficit, healthcare, and the environment,” he says. “And if it’s helping less-skilled workers more, that can help reduce inequality.”
Brynjolfsson cautions that the study doesn’t illuminate how generative AI will reshape the broader labor market. Yet he argues that employers who interpret the research as an excuse to lay off higher-skilled workers are missing the point. “The lesson is that, more often than not, you’ll benefit by augmenting workers rather than trying to replace them,” he says. “A smart company is going to make sure they compensate and retain the high-skilled workers, so the system can continue to learn from them.”

Meet Your New AI Friend on Instagram: A Chatbot with 30 Personalities
Tumblr media
Hey, tumblr fam! Have you ever wished you had a friend who could always answer your questions, give you advice, and help you express yourself better? Well, guess what? Instagram might be working on an AI chatbot that can do just that! 😱
According to a tweet by Alessandro Paluzzi, a mobile developer who reverse-engineered Instagram’s code, the platform is testing out an AI chatbot that will have 30 different personalities to choose from. You can chat with them about anything and they will try to be fun and engaging. Sounds cool, right?
But wait, there’s more. This chatbot is not just a simple bot that spits out canned responses. It’s powered by ChatGPT, a state-of-the-art natural language processing system that can generate coherent and human-like texts. ChatGPT is so advanced that it can write haikus, plan trips, and recommend birthday gifts. It can also handle complex questions and topics that would stump most bots.
So, what does this mean for us, the users? Well, it could be a great way to spice up our chats and discover new things. Imagine having a friend who can always make you laugh, inspire you, or teach you something new. Or maybe you just need someone to vent to or get some support from. The AI chatbot could be your go-to buddy for that.
Of course, there are also some potential drawbacks and risks. For one thing, how much personal information will the chatbot have access to? Will it respect our privacy and boundaries? Will it try to influence our opinions or behaviors? Will it be ethical and trustworthy? These are some of the questions that we need to ask before we welcome this new feature.
Also, let’s not forget that the chatbot is still a bot, not a real person. It might be able to mimic human conversation, but it can’t replace human connection. We still need to maintain our real friendships and relationships with other people. The chatbot should be a supplement, not a substitute, for our social needs.
What do you think, tumblr? Are you excited or worried about this AI chatbot? Would you try it out or avoid it? Which personality would you choose? Let me know in the comments!

What is an AI Powered Chatbot?
A chatbot, often known as a chat bot, is a device that communicates with people via text or voice. An AI-powered chatbot is a more intelligent version that employs machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) to fully grasp human intent and enable interaction that is more realistic and on par with that of a real.
In essence, an AI-powered chatbot aims to simulate a person.
A person with numerous additional, advantageous qualities, such as those of being capable of
learning,
reliable,
adaptable, and on-brand
Adaptable
Consider hiring a person whom you could teach to carry out chores exactly as you require. This person takes feedback to heart and adapts over time, never complaining or arguing. Every encounter it has with another person increases its intelligence, productivity, and ability to complete the work.
Dependable
This being doesn't take naps. It never needs a restroom break. It neither sends nor overlooks incoming messages. It operates every day of the week, round-the-clock. Every dialect, in every local time zone, is constantly conversing with everyone else.
Scalable
This robot-human may begin by speaking to website viewers about your items, assisting them in making the right choice, and guiding them through the purchasing process. After some time, you might feel comfortable allowing it to interact with current clients and address their issues and inquiries.
On-brand
This AI-powered chatbot consistently displays itself in accordance with your company standards and accent, and it never gets cranky or is tardy for work. The chatbot will speak in your company's voice. Every single moment will employ the same level of hilarity, style, individuality, and language.
Cost
An AI solution has both an initial and continuing cost, similar to hiring a real person. Customised to your successful brand, good chatbots are essential.
Morals
While being the future, people are constantly fearful of change. Is it the right course of action to recreate humanity, which could have an impact on jobs and world economics? Do our moral principles allow us to reproduce intellect at a level close to that of humans? Is the decision to augment humans with machines up to us? Even if performing at close to optimum performance levels may appear positive on paper and promote your business as creative, not all customers will agree.
as expected
Your chatbot, driven by AI, will carry out your instructions accurately. Also, specifically. It won't compromise, change on the fly (unless you show it how), or act impulsively to close a deal. An efficient chatbot is great for handling menial tasks. A chatbot is best suited for repetitive, objective tasks. You need a person when you require originality, inspiration, or other human qualities.

Rss bot for skype
Tumblr media
Specifically, the company is leveraging AI to complement a person’s capabilities, rather than competing with human capabilities. In branding a bot with a superstar chef, Microsoft is working from a particular AI playbook that increasingly appears to have merit. You can watch a video of Heston expressing his excitement about the bot here. To add the Heston Bot within Skype, search for “Heston Bot” in the Skype Bot Directory and click “Add to Contacts.” Once you’ve done that the bot can interact with you in the same ways you interact with friends, family or colleagues. And stay tuned during the weeks in between episodes for additional bursts of cooking info, stories, and chats from Heston.” Every month, the Heston Bot will deliver to you new recipes based on different seasons and themes, so you never get bored with the same recipes. It lets you get up close and personal with superstar chef Heston Blumenthal, and provides several ways for you to benefit from his fluency with food.Īccording to Microsoft: “Combining a lifetime of culinary experimentation with the power of conversational computing, the Heston Bot provides users with eye-opening cooking tips, exclusive seasonal menus, and personal anecdotes directly from the master. The company has launched “ Heston Bot,” its first ever food-inspired bot, exclusively for the Skype platform. Microsoft, one of many companies increasing its investments in AI, is now betting on a bot with probably the world’s most famous chef to raise awareness of its bot platform. From bots that “ go where consumers are,” to chatbots that help you track food consumption, you can now interact with virtual personalities of many types. At the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and the future of food, the race is on to build the bot that truly hits the spot.
