Being a fan of Avatar (the movie with blue people) is literally the most exhausting fan experience I've ever had, and I'm a female Star Wars fan, who's favorite Star Wars movie is The Last Jedi.

I'm by no means claiming that the movie is flawless or even "great" but it is by scifi blockbuster standards pretty good. It's no more or less racist than the Star Wars prequels and the writing isn't any worse than the scriptwriting in the Star Wars prequels either, yet it's treated with such disdain among people on the internet that I can't even talk about it without receiving random hateful comments.

I cosplay from the movie, more specifically the new movie and an OC that I designed in 2018. I love the movie, especially the visual elements and the design of the Na'vi and their culture, I think it's a fascinating metaphor for our treatment of indigenous peoples and our planet, I love the themes the film presents. But I'm also aware that it's harmful to indigenous people as well because it promotes a white savior narrative, that it's harmful to disabled people by promoting the narrative that they can't live full lives unless they're normative. I don't deny those problems with the movie, and I have plenty of criticisms of the new film as well. Particularly the use of locks on Jake and Spider, and I saw a video on tiktok complaining about that and I left a comment saying that I really wish they hadn't done that and I thought it was a really poor styling choice since up until that point none of the Na'vi we'd seen have locks so it doesn't logically make sense to give them that hair style. I got quite a bit of response to that comment, some people agreeing with me but largely people were saying, "why do you cosplay it then?" "why do you support it then?" like is it not okay to like things and also have criticism for them? I'm allowed to like things about it and also not like things about it.

I also keep seeing videos saying that Avatar has no cultural impact, that it doesn't have a long lasting fan base despite having lore comparable to Lord of the Rings. Here's the thing with that, it totally does have lore comparable to Lord of the Rings but the fan base can't thrive like LOTR fans or even Star Trek could partially because the internet wasn't a space in the same way then as it was when Avatar came out and the other fact is the sheer amount of shaming and harassment that Avatar fans get. I've seen people leave the fandom because of the hate they received on the internet. They quite literally get bullied out of their enjoyment of the movie. People say that Avatar has no fans, but it's fans are chronically silent and reclusive in our liking of the film for fear of getting harassed. I am part of Facebook groups of that have thousands of members and a very active discord. Avatar fans exist, they just keep low and quiet so as to protect themselves. I know people who speak Na'vi in the same way people speak elvish or klingon, it's just not something we advertise because every time we try to share our enjoyment of the movie we get mean comments or mocking stitches/remixes of our videos, pictures, etc. It's not fun to be a public Avatar fan, it's scary and exhausting.

I love Avatar, Neytiri was one of the first truly strong and inspirational female characters I connected with as a child (I was 9 when the movie came out) and I was fascinated and enthralled with the world of Pandora, as were so many movie goers. I'm so tired of getting railed on for enjoying this movie, or even just the constant ridicule that comes through my feed about it. What happened to the golden rule of if you don't have anything nice to say (or on this case even anything that provides new/valuable commentary/criticism) don't say anything at all?

I'm so sick of hearing the same arguments I've heard a million times about why it's a retread plot of Pocahontas/Dances With Wolves/Ferngully, I've heard it all before, I've seen those movies before and their plots are in myths and any number of other stories, that's not why I love the movie. No amount of people saying that to me will change what I do like about the Avatar. I don't watch Avatar for the plot, I watch it for Pandora, and for the visual spectacle and the world building.

I'm sick of the argument that Avatar's treatment of indigenous voices is somehow worse than any other piece of media written by and for white communities, it's not. Even Avatar the Last Airbender (which is my favorite TV show of all time and is often acclaimed as a great example of native representation) also falls failure to the same mistake of casting white actors in POC roles and changing the narratives of natives to be more easily accepted and understood by white audiences. This is not to say that ATLA doesn't handle its message better than Avatar, but it's important to be aware of the ways in which all media has flaws, even the things we think are less problematic and it's important to acknowledge them and not tear the media down for it, but use it as means to make new media better. Cameron did improve with the Way of Water, he frequently consulted with the Maori tribes he was pulling inspiration from, there's literally articles written by Maori tribe members on it but it is still a white people movie, written by white people for white people so do with that what you will. But don't claim star wars is any better, the prequels were outrageously racist, and they still maintain majority white casts.

The new Avatar movie (the way of water) is not perfect, there are quite a few things I found to be poor choices in regards to cultural sensitivity (aka locks, and casting Kate Winslet as Ronal instead of a Polynesian actress) but it's still better than it's predecessor, and unlike so many people on the internet say, it is not "a bunch of white people playing poc" since neither Zoe Saldana, nor Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, or any of the Metkayina children or Cliff Curtis are white. In fact, Cliff Curtis is Maori, the culture that inspired the Metkayina and many of the extras who play background Na'vi in the films are POC, because in spite of James Cameron's failings, he did want the Na'vi to be played by people of color. Very very few of the Na'vi in the original movie are played by white people, only a few extras with less than 1 minute of screen time and no lines. All the major Na'vi roles were played by people of black and indigenous color. Eytukan was played by a Cherokee native, Mo'at (these people are the two clan leaders) is played by a indigenous woman from Africa and is very black. Zoe Saldana's parents are Dominican and Puerto Rican for god's sake! She is not white. This argument that he casts white people in POC roles is untrue. The Avatars are white cause they're meant to represent the invadors, wolf in sheep's clothing if you will. The Na'vi are bipoc, and they're played by bipoc.

After Avatar, James went to Brazil and became and activist for native communities. He went worked with Brazilian natives fighting the building of a dam over their local river, a dam with would power a major city in Brazil, but destroy the indigenous peoples access to water. He went to their community, and asked them what he could do to help. He donated money, protested, ran conferences and tried to disrupt the building of the dam using his influence, but it failed, and he had to watch the suffering of this indigenous tribe that he'd grown very close to in their time working together to prevent the dam. He's not Anti-indigenous as people love to claim, he's clumsy and arrogant (like all cis white men) but what he does is an attempt to elevate native voices not smother them even if he doesn't necessarily succeed.

The movie isn't the menace to society people portray it as, nor is it as boring or uncompelling as people claim. But I still can't go online to enjoy it because no matter what I say, I like it too much for "a bad movie" or I'm "too supportive of something harmful" although I still see people buying Harry Potter merchandise in the Barnes and Noble and I'd argue JK Rowling is an actively bigoted individual who's words and paychecks actively harm marginalized communities, unlike Cameron who despite his bumbling is trying his best and actually learning and doing better with the new content he puts out.

People also say things like, "You only like it cause you're white, no POC people like Avatar." which is blatantly untrue, I've seen native people who like it, black people who like it, I have black friends who like it, I know a black cosplayer who cosplays from it. In fact, I know more poc who cosplay from it than white people. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of the film, and should be allowed to interact with it without getting harassed. It's just exhausting to like it, so people don't say they do.

I'm tired of even the things that should be praised about the new film being used as a way to tear it down. Cameron said in an interview that he "likes Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman as characters but they're not mom's" when asked why he chose to make Neytiri a mother. Neytiri's motherhood doesn't detract from her warrior-ness, she's still a badass bitch and I think that's the point that this person on tiktok clearly missed. He wasn't saying you need women to be moms to be heros, but how many warrior women who are also mothers can you think of off the top of your head? I can't think of any. The choice to make Neytiri a badass mom wasn't to detract from single or childless female characters but to provide even more diversity in the kinds of strong female characters out there. I loved that 1/2 the cast of that movie was women, just as I loved Neytiri in the first film.

In conclusion, can we please stop making Avatar fans lives hell on the internet. I do my own research about how it is and isn't problematic and make my own decisions, I don't need strangers to yell at me. I just want to enjoy my silly ecoscifi movie about blue aliens. I'm aware of its issues and I do my best to raise awareness of the issues facing real natives, to engage with real native stories and voices and support their protests, legal persuits, tribal sovereignty, land back etc, and be the best ally I can be, but I'm not going to boycot this movie because it does some problematic stuff, or because it has an unoriginal plot, if I did that I could never watch another marvel movie again (and yes they're just as bad if you dig, look at the early ones especially) I'm so sick of the insane amount of factually unsupported hate this movie gets and of having to deal with it. I'm tired, I just want to enjoy my movie which is no worse than any other white backed and driven Hollywood blockbuster.

i was watching a video on plagarism in cosplay and the girl making the video managed to put into words something that i've kind of struggled with and tbh am still struggling to adapt to my "field" but. it bugs me so i want to try. also i should say this wicked isn't a problem it has happened to me all of Twice (one from each end) but someone finally summarized why it felt the way it did.

basically, a couple times people have commented on a fic of mine likening it to another that exists. sometimes these are innocuous and even lead me to people with similar headcanons and interpretations of the character as me. sometimes i don't like the other fic so it feels less flattering, but it's by no fault of how the comment itself is written. i've actually written a comment similar to this once and hope it didn't come across as naggy, but i found out someone else used the same prompt as me for catradora, so i basically left a comment about how funny it was that two people saw that inspiration source and went "ah yes, this could be catradora." it was supposed to be a "like sees like" kind of salute (as well as an acknowledgement that i hadn't seen their fic before as i don't go in the tags often), but i've since gotten comments that i think are trying to at least toe the line of doing the same thing and felt off (bitter, self-promotey, whatever) to me, so i retroactively worry about how they felt about it.

but really this post is about the time i had someone say "is this fic actually inspired by [other fic]" and it was 1) something i'd never heard of and 2) insulting.

so why is it insulting, what did the video finally put into words for me?

when someone accuses you of copying, using/having the same idea as someone else, etc, it is insulting the creative process and labor it took to make it. It's saying that you didn't/couldn't come up with that yourself, that you didn't develop and nurture it and plan out all the impacts this event/plot/au etc would have on the characters; that any time and effort and love you put into it never actually existed because you just stole it from someone else. it's essentially accusing you of being chatgpt, putting someone else's hard work in as input and cranking something cheap and less valuable out instead. they don't care about the work you put in anymore.

like, when i did the bachelorette au, it was straight up inspired by one that existed and i openly sourced that because it deserved it, but even then i still spent hours reading recaps of the show, previously had an interest in the franchise from podcasts, went and read interviews to get an idea of the general timelines, etc. I put a lot of work - my work, unique work, creative work - into crafting an au that, in reality, only shares the phrase "bachelorette au" with the initial source of inspiration (again, a source i love and am happy to credit anyway). if someone else wants to write a cosplay au for catradora, even if they think to do it because they read mine, as long as they're not copying the plot, backstory, etc, i think that would be super cool! honestly, i'd be flattered to be an inspiration source for that, just like i'm flattered when someone takes on one of my headcanons. it's just the basics of how creativity works. no idea, no matter how much it may feel like it, comes from nowhere. you start watching a vintage car tiktok and it puts you on a train of thoughts that eventually leads you to "lol but adora bent over the hood of her broken down car" and then you build that out until it is its own world with plot, backstory, and characters who have been tweaked by living in this different environment.

anyway, i know i've been incredibly unconcise but it boils down to creativity being a lot of effort and it doesn't feel good when people claim you didn't put in all that effort ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ man this post could have been so much shorter. should i edit it. aw fuck i have to be at work at nine tomorrow. yeah no lmao

The manga The Summer Hikaru Died has exploded among Generation Z via TikTok, Twitter and other social networking sites. It has sold over 200,000 copies in just three months since the first volume was released and is currently nominated for the 'Next Comic Award 2022' in the web manga category. (Voting is open until 11 July).

What if one day your friend who is always next to you is suddenly replaced by a completely different "something"? This story begins with such a bizarre transformation. The story is peppered with unintentionally chilling horror elements, such as a claustrophobic country town, eerie folklore and unexplained incidents, but also vividly depicts the complex emotions that swing between Hikaru, who has become "something", and Yoshiki, a boy who cannot leave his friend's side. 

Horror or bromance? ....... How was this work, which captivates readers with its depth of story and overwhelmingly high level of artwork that is hard to describe in one word, created?　We interviewed the author, Mokmoku ren. (Chanmei)

The inspiration for the idea came from my high school days

Q: First of all, how did you come up with the idea for The Summer Hikaru Died?

Mokmoku Ren: I first came up with the idea when I was in high school. When I was studying for exams, it suddenly occurred to me that it would be nice and interesting to have a manga like this. I didn't want to be a manga artist at the time, but I always liked thinking about stories and detailed setups.

Q: First of all, how did you arrive at the serialisation?

Mokmoku Ren: It was like ...... where I constructed the stories I wanted to read in my head, so at first I had no intention of showing them to anyone. So for the first few years after I came up with the idea, I didn't even put it in writing, let alone in comics. Then, around January last year, I happened to have some spare time, so I drew a picture of what I had in my head. When I posted the drawing on Twitter, it got a lot of buzz, and that's when I was approached by the editorial team.

New readers from TikTok, not just "buzz".

Q: First of all, even before the first volume of the book was released, cosplay videos of the characters were being posted on TikTok and became a hot topic. How did you feel when you experienced the 'TikTok buzz'?

Mokmoku Ren: Suddenly the Twitter response got better and I was like, "What's going on?" I thought, "What's going on?" and then I heard that I was getting attention on TikTok. So, I first tried the TikTok app and watched a lot of videos, and at first I was a bit surprised at the generation gap, or at the fact that "this is what kids are like nowadays" (.....). I was a bit surprised (laughs). (laughs) When I looked at the comments on the videos, I felt a similarity to myself when I was in high school, and it made me feel nostalgic, like 'things don't change all the time'.

Q: First of all, what were some of the most impressive comments?

Mokmoku Ren: There were many different comments, such as "This author is definitely psychic!" or "I'm concerned about what's going to happen to this author" or "I'm worried about what's going to happen to me". Also, I can't remember where I saw this, but a reader had her own father read her work, and she said, "My father used to see these ghosts too! He said, "My father used to see this kind of ghost too!", which was a bit funny (laughs).

Q: In addition to the cosplay videos, the famous manga-introducing TikTokers were also pushing this work very hard, weren't they?

Mokmoku Ren: I think a lot of videos related to The Summer Hikaru Died were getting a lot of attention, and I was really grateful that the manga introduction TikTokers were explaining in great detail about the appeal of the work and where to read it. Thanks to that, it didn't just get popular, but it was connected to the work and the number of readers increased.

Q: First of all, has the TikTok Buzz triggered any changes in your Twitter follower base?

Mokmoku Ren: The TikTok Buzz led to a huge increase in comments from young readers on Twitter. Until then, I had the impression that there were a lot of adult readers, so I'm very happy to have young readers like this. I think they will read it for a long time to come, and I hope that The Summer Hikaru Died will become part of their youth. ...... I still love the manga I liked when I was in junior high and high school, and I'm still very much influenced by them. So I would be happy if I could be a part of that kind of existence.

Influences from 'Honkaku', 'Shin-Mimibukuro' and 'Here it Comes'.

Q: First of all, what did you like when you were a student?

Mokmoku Ren: I loved 'Tokyo Ghoul' and read it a lot. I read a lot of other things, but I was often impressed by battle manga like those in Weekly Shonen Jump and Weekly Young Jump.

Q: First of all, The Summer Hikaru Died has strong elements of human drama and horror, rather than battles.

Mokmoku Ren: In manga, I like battles and used to read them a lot, but my overall tendency is to like horror. I've really loved horror ever since I can remember, and I used to watch and read horror stories and films all the time. Maybe because of that, I've always wanted to draw horror.

Q: First of all, what is your favourite horror film?

Mokmoku Ren: I used to watch a lot of 'Honsaku' (Really Scary Stories). I also love the TV drama Shin Mimibukuro, which has influenced me a lot. I also love the film "Here it comes" and its original stories "Bogiwaan ga, kuru" and "Shishiriba no ie" (The House of Shishiriba), as well as horror novels by Itomo Sawamura. The words "Bogiwaan" and "Shishiriba's House" are so scary that you feel like, "Eh, what? They are very scary (laughs). (Laughs) I like novels that have a kind of 'unexplained unpleasantness' in the expression of the bizarre or so-called ghosts.

Unexplained unpleasantness, onomatopoeia ...... Commitment to expression

Q: First of all, from the 'ku' scene (see image), I felt the 'unexplained unpleasantness' that Mokmoku Reng-sensei was talking about. It was very scary (laughs).

Mokmoku Ren: This is because, as well as the 'Honkaku' and 'Shin-Mimibukuro' books I mentioned earlier, I also like the occult board on 2ch, 'Why don't you collect scary stories that are so frightening they'll scare you to death? 

Q: First of all, in terms of your drawings, are you particular about horror expressions?

Mokmoku Ren: I often get compliments on the way I draw onomatopoeia. I try to use expressions that you don't see very often, such as "sha-sha-sha-sha". However, I am quite conscious of whether it works properly and effectively as an expression.

Q: First of all, there was already a huge amount of onomatopoeia from the drafting stage.

Mokmoku Ren: I wanted the onomatopoeia to stir up a sense of dread, so I wanted the reader to be able to read it clearly. There are ways to draw these onomatopoeias by hand, but I thought it would be better to use digital typesetting because the reader would see them even if he or she didn't want to. Another reason I chose to use typesetting was that my handwritten text would have been half as scary.

Q: First of all, I can sense your extraordinary attention to visual expression, such as wanting the reader to be able to read the onomatopoeia clearly.

Mokmoku Ren: I put a lot of thought into that. When there is something I want the reader to read, such as onomatopoeia, I am conscious of the proportion of the onomatopoeia in the story and how much of it is going to reach the reader's eyes.

Q: How would you describe the features of the characters?

Mokmoku Ren: veins and sweaty ..... I don't use expressions like that very often. For example, if there is a scene where a character is shocked or impatient and walks away from a scene, I might say that he bumps into a chair as he walks away and the chair falls over with a thud. I want to express the emotions of that moment in action, without using marks such as veins or sweaty sweat. In this way, the sound is quite important, not onomatopoeia as I mentioned earlier.

Horror and bromance have a strong affinity

Q: We have asked you in detail about the expression of horror, but how do you balance it with the bromance elements such as the friendship and love between Yoshiki and Hikaru?

Mokmoku Ren: Actually, I keep the horror low key. There are times when I really want to draw something scarier, but I'd rather draw something that appeals to the emotions, like 'kuru kuru kuru kuru ......', rather than just making it scary. I want to draw something that appeals to the emotions. I also think that in terms of appealing to emotions, horror and bromance are a bit similar.

Q: Horror and bromance are similar. ......

Mokmoku Ren: The feeling of resemblance is probably related to the 'suspension bridge effect'. In psychology, it's like you're more likely to develop romantic feelings for someone you meet in a place where you feel a strong sense of anxiety and fear, like on a hanging bridge. In the case of horror, it is the thrill of not knowing what horror will happen next, and in the case of bromance, it is the thrill of "what should I do ......" when, for example, you get into a fight with a friend and the atmosphere turns nasty. It's like we have the same physiological arousal of excitement, so we can mistake the cause for the reason. When I actually draw, I think that horror and bromance have a high affinity.

Chapter 11: "I knew I was going to come up with a good illustration", as recommended by the editor in charge of the story.

Q: First of all, please tell us about your favourite scene and the scene you had difficulty with.

Mokmoku Ren: The last scene of the first volume. It's the end of the first volume, so I was very particular about the tempo and rhythm of the story. In terms of difficulties, I always have a hard time thinking about the structure of the story. I can think of many things I want to depict and many stories, but I have a hard time connecting them one by one or asking myself, "Which part shall I focus on first?" So I consult with the editor in charge of the story.

Q: First of all, what are the upcoming highlights?

Mokmoku Ren: Episode 11, which will be released on 26 July. I put a lot of energy into drawing it.

Editor in Charge: I thought from the stage of the name meeting that the drawings for episode 11 would definitely be good, but the drawings were really great (laughs), so I hope everyone is looking forward to it.

Q: First of all, please give a message to the readers.

Mokmoku Ren: Only one volume has been released and the story is really in the early stages, so please visit ....... I'm sorry to be nominated for the Next Coming Manga Award 2022 in the web manga category in such a state, but I'm very grateful. In the future, new characters are scheduled to appear, and I think they are going to be very good characters (laughs). So I would be very happy if you could continue to keep a warm eye on me.

Cosplays I’m trying to do before the year is over!

I haven’t had much time to make any cosplay content for my TikTok like I want to, with work and the holidays and everything, but I’m going to really try and put some new cosplays out before the year is over.

1. Elmo.

Yes, I’m going to cosplay Elmo 💀.

I saw ArtfulRenegade do it on TikTok (y’all should def check them out!) and got inspired lol.

I’m going to be doing this one first because of how simple it is. I already have most of the stuff for it, I’m just waiting for the wig in the mail.

I’m also just really excited to be Elmo honestly, there’s so many good TikTok sounds for him lol.

2. Hilda/Giant woman.

Hilda and the Giant woman (I forget her name) are kind of a joint cosplay in a way?? I’m going to do Hilda separately, but I also have an idea for the “giant woman trend” that involves me cosplaying both of them.

If it works out the way I see it in my head, it’ll be pretty cool.

3. Akasha (she doesn’t have a canon name, but that’s what most of the fandom calls her).

Now this one I’ve been wanting to do since October 😭.

I still need to get red contacts, but there’s a red eye TikTok filter that I think I can work with until I can get some. Once I get her wig and make her little bat hair accessories, I’ll be set.

I’m really excited for this one too, she didn’t have much screen time on the show but she’s definitely one of my top favorite MH background characters!

Did you see that Simplicity has made some Six the Musical inspired costume patterns? I saw it on a facebook group!

Yes I saw it. And it is bad.

This is not me saying don't buy these, if you want them as a base or for a halloween costume go for it. This sort of thing is great for people with no sewing experience who want to make six costumes, and there is enough information online to level them up for a nice look. Just don't expect the result to look like a stage costume. Also read from someone who has used patterns from this line that the plus size patterns are not necessarily good.

First lets get something out of the way. Those patterns are not official. This means simplicity just took show photos and "recreated" very basic versions of what they saw. All this with no permission.

Second. I can't speak for the quality of the patterns, only from what I see in the covers. Simplicity is one of the bigger pattern brands and they have a reputation for creating quality commercial patterns. This means the patterns are made for home sewists who know how to read and follow patterns and have a certain skill level. So basically anyone who is past the begginer stage and can operate a sewing machine. But commercial patterns are not proffesional costume patterns or historical patterns. So even if visually they look like six and would work well for halloween costumes that would see a few wears, they are not great for cosplay that aims for any degree of show accuracy and are probably very different from the show patterns. So even if you add all the necessary layers it probably won't look right. (If it is a base for a first mockup you could have good results after a few rounds of alterations).

As six costumes I just don't trust these, even the ones that look half decent (Aragon top minus the sleeves and Boleyn skirt) have big issues only from the photos. The six patterns are notoriously complicated. In the US six uses a single costume workshop that has makers specialized in a single queen, UK keeps going back to the same makers who are again specialized in one or two queens. The costume makers are editing and improving the patterns to this day, these almost definitely didn't consult them. And I haven't seen a single six cosplayer (myself included) who doesn't want to change at least one fit detail, or changed already. Take a guess as to how someone who has never worked with six or done extensive research will do when creating a pattern. And this isn't against the pattern makers, this is just outside of the things they usually work with.

Now just for fun my quick review of what can be seen. Looks like most are bases with details sewn on top, and it looks like its all fabric, no vinyl, no structure and a lot of spandex. Aragon, collar is too wide, missing front side panel, no shoulder straps, lets not even mention the sleeves, peplum is too narrow and I am not sure it would even fit the skirt underneath, skirt is again super narrow, panels nowhere to be seen. Boleyn, darts instead of princess seams, top is square not fitted, I am 90% sure there is no undersleeve, skirt is not structured, even hem, not sure it flattens to a full circle, the squares definitely don't work like that, looks like squares might be painted?. Cleves, (tell me you referenced Esme without telling me you referenced Esme) looks like the boleyn top with a zipper and no darts, super short, shorts look like regular spandex shorts with the side panels just sewn to the waistband and falling over it. Parr, its just mesh with two bands sewn on top, sleeves are too long and bands are too thin, has a choker for reasons, pants are way too short and look like basic black pants with blue sewn on top. Also you have to love the Boleyn/Parr look switch and the silver Cleves with ponytail and teal Parr.

3 a.m. Doomscrolling

It was 3 a.m. in the morning, and she was in a dark, cold place with only her phone lighting the room. She was lying comfortably in her bed, snuggling with her body pillow, and feeling the warmth of her soft blanket wrapped around her. Before this, she made a promise to herself that she would fix her sleeping schedule as her online class starts at 7 a.m. and she didn’t want to feel droopy for the entirety of her class, but here we are again repeating the same cycle that she always does, scrolling through social media without noticing or even caring how much time has passed. It seems like the internet has consumed her life, from sunrise to sunset. She couldn’t even eat without some sort of entertainment video to watch; now, it even devours her time of rest.

Despite her being on her phone the entire day, you would think that she would eventually get bored and tired of web surfing, but no, it seems like her scrolling through the internet never stops. She had fallen into the rabbit hole of doomscrolling, and that "she" was me. 

Yeah, I know that I have a serious problem, as is evident from how I relate to the meme that I am looking at right now, which is a clown looking at the mirror and telling themselves that they are "definitely" going to fix their sleeping schedule. I just had to share this post with the caption "literally me rn" because the timing of this meme is just impeccable. Now, on to scrolling through Facebook once again. 

Facebook is a platform with multigenerational users, as people from all walks of life have gathered in this app. We have boomer folks who post inspirational quotes about not judging a book by its cover, along with a sketchy article of a supposed rumor about a celeb. We have younger pals who questionably may have violated Facebook’s terms of service due to the age limit, but here they are posting about their love life struggles at a very young age but also gullible enough to believe that Slender Man actually exists. We sure have wildcard characters that we can encounter on this app. 

As I scroll through Facebook, I see memes, photos of my FB friends, with whom I haven't even shared a word or two in real life, and fake news articles about politicians. I’m not even going to look at the comments, as it will surpass my low expectations about their comprehension. Through these seas of posts, something caught my eye, and that was Donalyn Bartolme’s birthday party with a "kalye" theme.

A rich person cosplaying as poor as a theme for a birthday party is definitely a controversial move and a guarantee of cancellation, at least to some. She claimed that she only did that to commemorate her past struggles before fame. Scrolling through comments, it seems like I share the same sentiment as people outside of Donalyn’s fanbase. Her action was incredibly tone deaf, as the hardships of poor people aren’t just decorations that only stay on certain occasions; they have to live with that struggle every single day. I presume, one of the side effects of being an influencer is losing a grasp of reality. 

This made me lose hope for humanity. Nevermind, I just saw a post about the COVID-19 case numbers going up. I mean, this isn’t necessarily new, as everyday COVID patients keep multiplying, but this made my frustration about the birthday thing insignificant. Weirdly enough, this realization did stop me from scrolling through Facebook. However, determined to make myself feel better, a quick scroll through Tiktok might do the trick. 

Tiktok is a haven for short-form video content. But even if the videos there take seconds to watch, it sure takes hours of your time as it easily spews out personal feeds for you to keep entertained. You can encounter various creators there from every genre or hobby imaginable as it tries to appeal to audiences with certain niches.

As I’m scrolling through Tiktok, I come across videos of comedy skits, fun facts, thirst traps, fan edits of my favorite fictional characters, interesting talents such as puppeteers and magicians, and tarot card reading, which I’m not a believer in yet still find intriguing. It seems like all is well; I am here having a good time until I came across this video of a guy, mad that the upcoming game Grand Theft Auto VI is becoming "woke" by adding a female character as a protagonist of their game.

Imagine boycotting a game just because it didn’t align with your wrapped-up view of society. The comments only ignite the fire even more as they make sexist comments, changing the way they look at the game franchise when the game is literally just about recklessly committing crimes.

But it only got worse from there, as my feed recommended a clip from one of those "alpha" male podcasts and introduced me to Andrew Tate. The clip in question is him talking about how men are allowed to cheat but women aren’t. I went to his profile, perplexed by his comment, only to find video after video of his misogyny, such as saying that the value of women decreases the more men she sleeps with or that women's only purpose is to serve men. His words were regarded as scripture in his fanbase, which is alarming considering that most of his fans are just teenage boys. Even with this, I was still invested in him, even as far as knowing information that wasn’t necessary to know, like how he used to be a professional kickboxer or that he was arrested for human trafficking.

Baffled by the negativity I’ve inflicted upon myself, why not add more fuel to the fire by visiting twitter next. 

Twitter is essentially microblogging, where you're free to post what’s on your mind, opinions you want to share, or just what is currently happening in your life with a 280-character limit. Your text, known as a "tweet," is broadcast across the platform and can be found by the masses, who can add their own comment about the thing you just tweeted in the form of quote tweeting or by simply replying under the post.

Twitter is a platform for free speech. As I scroll through it, various tweets pop up, some of which are from my friends but primarily from online strangers. What do we have here? Funny jokes, rants, social happenings, and of course horrible takes. 

I have yet again found myself spiraling over a post. It started with one user's post on how they have finally gotten better in terms of their mental health. This was quote tweeted by another user, who stated that their post was offensive due to the “poor” timing of the tweet since the war between Russia and Ukraine was happening simultaneously. This created a public discourse whether the initial tweet was distasteful or not.  

Reading the comments on these posts has exposed me to one dubious take after another. Some replies might have been satirical, but since when did having stable mental health make you lose empathy? Stable mental health simply means that you can handle your well-being better, but it doesn't prevent you from showing concern for others. Thankfully, most people share the same sentiment as me. I'm not sure why this argument was brought up in the first place. And why do I still keep engaging with it despite its obviously dumb take?

At this moment, you may begin to notice a pattern of deliberately consuming negative posts and aimlessly migrating from one social media platform to another. It all starts when the mind goes into autopilot mode, making you scroll out of habit, triggered by negativity bias, making you notice a baffling post more than a positive one, diving deeper into the said post, facing the possibility of disregarding or ignoring relevant information that does not back up how you feel, feeling frustrated afterwards, going through another social media app in the hopes of lifting your mood up, thus starting the vicious cycle once again.

This phenomenon, referred to as "doomsurfing," but more commonly known as "doomscrolling," has arisen during the pandemic as more and more people have been experiencing the compulsive urge to endlessly scroll through their social media feeds and heavily focus on the upsetting or generally negative information. This can be caused by FOMO (fear of missing out), negativity bias, uncertainty, and a lack of self-control.

“Doomscrolling occurs when you realize you’ve landed on a story and have no idea how you got there. You can’t remember why you even got on your phone in the first place, but now you’re reading hundreds of comments or retweets of someone you don’t even follow,” is how Tess Brigman, a psychotherapist and coach, describe this phenomenon, which perfectly encapsulates the authentic experience and meaning of doomscrolling.

Due to the discrepancy that doomscrolling brings, it can definitely have its effects, such as apprehension, fear, and distress, which lead to burnout and damage the general mood and well-being of a person. Taking it to the extreme takes a toll on mental health, which triggers anxiety and depression, which in turn affects sleep, appetite, and motivation and disrupts work, time with family and friends, and lastly, passion.

Holding social media companies responsible is a way of calling out action to doomscrolling, one article suggests, as their business model is an algorithm designed to catch the attention of users, thus increasing engagement. This means that the more you click on dumb or concerning posts, the more likely it is that you’ll receive the same kind of content the next time you visit the app. Legal monitoring and regulation of social media businesses may improve platform accountability, boost the transparency of their algorithmic processes, and enable users to reject personalization and profiling.

With all this, the most effective way to cut back on doomscrolling is to improve oneself. You can start by setting a time limit for yourself to monitor and minimize the hours of your screen time. You can do this by setting it up yourself, or for those with a lack of self-control, download apps that do similar functions. Unfollowing accounts that cause stress will help you declutter your feed from negativity. Setting the phone to send fewer notifications might also lessen the constant need to check our phones. If online, actively seek positive stories to balance out the negative ones. Ultimately, the most effective way to stray away from doomscrolling is to have leisure activities outside of social media, such as exercising, hanging out with friends and family, and doing what you're passionate about. Feeling overwhelmed by everything on the internet? Remember to refocus on the present moment.

Speaking of the present moment, my alarm just went off for 6 a.m. in the morning, one hour before my class. I didn’t sleep a wink last night; I have fallen down the rabbit hole of doomscrolling once again. Give it up to the author who can’t apply what she writes! She was blinded by the ray of sunlight as she opened the curtains, but she couldn't be blinded by the phone screen brightness that was on her face the entire time. This is the reality we both share, you and I. We’ve scrolled the internet up to the brink of oblivion; are you going to let it doom us all?

Summary: Eclipsed views the footage of the Vinigalante “Madeye” and his daughter being captured.  Confirming that there is indeed another world outside of their own.

A/N: This idea and some others to this story with "Madeye" Moody from the Harry Potter Universe is inspired by tiktok_madeye over on TikTok.

“Sir,” a henchman called.

“Yes?”  Eclipsed responded with a clipped tone.

“Sir, we have it.  The video proof of the Vigilante “Madeye””

“Excellent!  Let’s see what we have.”

Eclipsed took the disc from the henchman and put it into the computer and booted it up the video.  The video was graining black and white footage showing a man in his late 30s to early 40s, tied to a chair trying desperately to get loose.  The screen beside it showed there was a little girl around 11-13 years old gripping her wand with white knuckles and hands shaking uncontrollably.  Surrounding her were different henchmen hired to kidnap her and her Dad to “test” their powers.  The little girl was firing off spells, left, right, and center.  Hitting nearly all of her targets.

Eclipsed wasn’t sure what kind of spells she was using be was somewhat impressed at how someone so young and inexperienced was able to hold her own.  It only took about 10-15 minutes before the numbers games caught up to her.  One of the henchmen had telekinesis and was able to whip the wand out of her hand and bring her to them with a flick of their wrist.

“Well, well, well!  You certainly had your fun little girl!  Now, let’s see what the Boss wants to do with you!”

Madeye was screaming at the top of his lungs for them to get their hands off his daughter, trying to knock the chair back and break it.  Then a huge burst of magic shot out and knocked nearly everyone back.  Madeye quickly released the ropes, snapped his fingers and his trusty staff was in his hands.   

With one furiously pissed-off look on his face and a deathly calm voice, “Get. Your. Hands. Off.  My.  Daughter.”  Madeye stabbed his staff into the ground sending a powerful shockwave of magic at the group knocking everyone but his daughter back.  “Grab your wand!”

The little girl grabbed her wand and ran to her Dad.  The Henchmen got back to their feet and the “Leader” looked excited.  “Finally!  I haven’t had a good fight since Solar!”

Madeye took a defensive position to protect his daughter.  The air charged with some sort of electricity like no other.  The henchmen looked at Madeye and saw that he was twirling his staff around like a baton from marching band.  The charge began to get more and more, and all the hairs on the  Henchmens’ arms and head began to stand up on end.

With one final sweep and stab from his staff, a powerful wave of magic blasted out from the ground and toward the henchmen like a tidal wave.  Knocking everyone unconscious.  Madeye then performed some kind of spell, leaving the henchmen there for cops to find.  Madeye then told his daughter to call 9-1-1 and left with her.

The video ended and Eclipse was ecstatic!  This proved that there was more than just their world here in Egopacaplse!  That there was a chance for Eclipse to bring his son back!  That there is a chance for them to never Fade ever again!“Hehehehe!  Good work!  Keep an eye on Madeye and his family.  It seems that he might be the key to my research and for me to get the power to keep all of us from Fading.”

Vigilante "Madeye" - Magic User "Madeye" is Madeye Mood from the Harry Potter Universe. Madeye didn't die he wound up in another world where "Magic" is the norm.

This was originally gonna be a part of a #SixFanarts challenge where I draw 6 characters I’ve never drawn before but I didn’t like that I completely copied the poses of all the characters I chose, and I want to be more original when I do that challenge because I think it’s really cool ...and I need practice doing original compositions anyways. (I even color picked directly from the game and oh my gosh what even is color theory, like why is his skin purple here?)

But yeah here’s Cove from “Our Life: Beginnings and Always!”

Definitely my favorite visual novel. I chose this scene because even though it’s the very first scene with Cove it’s still one of my favorites. I’ve been a neurodivergent kid out on a hill in my neighborhood just like this and I resonated so hard with Cove from the very beginning.

I never talked about the game on the blog because I went to make a post about it after my original playthrough and it ended up being a huge rambly mess. Then when all the DLC came out I replayed it again and got to marry Cove and it was perfect and went to post about it again, and that one was even longer somehow. So just know I super love Our Life and I’m very excited for the sequel.

Though I probably won’t be playing the Our Life 1 non-Cove DLC content when it comes out because I love Seaweed Babe too much. Like you give me this entire super fulfilling life with Cove and I get to marry him at the end, then you expect me to play through it again, see the precious lad, and not get swept back up into loving him all over again, like how?

I’ve really enjoyed the SandD tier content started by lighthouseraiders on TikTok. I’ve been kind of busy doing animations and the Colostle journal stuff so I didn’t finish these but I still really enjoyed making it.

Huge thanks to jdstorm and nerdicorn_the_shipper (also on TikTok), their SandDtier cosplays were the main inspirations I used for these sketches.

I really would’ve liked to do more with them but maybe later I guess.

Chaos Rebels

Characters: Kate Bishop, Yelena Belova , mention of Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff ( she's alive in my mind kk )

summary: Kate and Yelena love to cause chaos, it's what they do. Fun for them and a pain in the butt for you most of the time

Warnings: doggies, knives, dogs using knives, Clint is mentioned in this :(, chaos

a/n: thanks to my favorite anons 💄 and 😈 for inspiring the name because it's Yelena and Kate in a nutshell, also because i saw a tiktok of a dog with a knife and thought of them 2 doing it

When You started to date Kate, a part of you know that there would never be a moment of peace in your life ever again.

Which to some might seem like a bad thing but you didn’t mind since it was always fun to hear Kate ramble on about whatever after the long days both of you had. She had the energy of a golden retriever half the time and you loved it.

About a year into your relationship is when she ended up meeting what you both would consider being the best addition to both of your lives. 

Lucky the dog. 

She had saved the dog from almost being run over and since she was dealing with some shady stuff that involved her mom’s new fiance, the only solution that she could think of was to bring the dog to your apartment while we went on to discover more into on jack 

“ Kate why are you in cosplay and have a dog with you ?” 

“ first of all, not that, and second of all he almost got crushed by someone” 

“ Aww poor baby come here,” you say to the dog as you kneel down and get to his level to give him all the love. He comes with no hesitation while kate tries to find something to eat for the poor fella.

“ I have leftover pizza from yesterday baby, I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow and can get him something to eat,” you tell her, and the dog immediately leaves to eat the leftovers

“ Are you gonna keep him, babe? “

“ Maybe,” she says and you are given the cutest puppy eyes by both of them.

After that day, you both end up deciding on keeping the golden as your own, not finding any owners of his in new york. 

He became a big part of both your lives and even lead to both of you moving in together after Kate’s place was set on fire by some idiots in tracksuits. 

Way to explain that one if you wanted to. 

It ended up helping all of you in the long run and it’s been 3 years since Kate and lucky moved in with you. 

Kate even became an avenger so that meant that she would bring more chaos to your life which you didn’t mind. 

More chaos was brought when the former Russian assassin, Yelena Belova, came into your shared apartment after the fight that occurred between your girlfriend, herself, and Clint. 

She was a bit hesitant to open herself up since the death of her sister but after a couple of months of living together and all of you were able to have a good dynamic.

Which meant that you were able to see Yelena’s more chaotic personality when she wasn’t doing avengers business. Today is one of these times where her wild side comes out and she has Kate as her partner in crime. 

A little bit after Yelena came to live with both of you, Kate had recommended to Yelena that she get a dog of her own. 

“Why do I need a dog kate bishop ?“ Yelena asks as she watches you and kate cuddling with Lucky on the other side of the couch.

“ So you have a little companion to sleep in and stuff, “ Kate says while you keep yourself occupied with petting his head

“ Wow you both are lame,” She says and just continues to keep her attention on the tv

This leads to the three of you going to the dog shelter 3 weeks later to find a dog for Yelena with Lucky coming along to see which dog he vibes with. That in itself took a while as Lucky wasn’t having it at the time and you had to bribe the dog with some treats and a quick trip for a pup cup to even come.

Yet the moment he saw the American Akita in one of the kennels all sad and wanting a buddy, all 3 of you knew this would turn into an even more chaotic place to live. 

Which in fact it did, like today 

You and out to the grocery store as Yelena and Kate were tasked to start dinner as you had invited the blonde's mother and kate’s mentor over for dinner. The three of you seemed to have it all under control when you had forgotten that you ran out of an ingredient for the recipe. 

As you were making your way to the closest grocery store, Yelena was formulating a plan that would most likely get both her and Kate in trouble. 

“ Kate Bishop, how about we teach the dogs how to use knives while we wait for y/n to come back,” she asks as she takes the knife in hand and twirls it around casually. Yelena didn’t seem to care that she asked something so insane to kate like it was nothing 

“ no “

“ why not Kate, it’s not like she’ll know “ 

“ she’s gonna know Yelena and their dogs, “ she pauses to see that Fanny and Lucky are just sleeping next to each other all cute,” why do they need to know how to use knives ???” 

“ for self-defense you dummy!!! Cmon now “ She says to her. 

About 20 minutes of convincing of Yelena and puppy eyes from the dogs with the blonde included and both ladies are showing the dogs how to use knives like pros. Kate takes her phone out to take a picture of this in memory in case you catch them. 

10 more minutes of teaching the dogs how to use them made them forget that you were out getting groceries, so when you came into the apartment with the missing ingredient, 2 dogs with knives in their mouths was something not on the list. 

At all 

“ Belova, Bishop, what the fuck?” you say as you stand there in shock, not knowing what to say to the situation. Bad idea on your part to announce it because the dogs came running to you with knives in their mouths, ready to give you all the love in the world. 

It took both of them 10 minutes to calm the dog's town to be able to get the knives back and ensure you didn’t get harmed in the process of it too. Nobody was harmed but both of them knew you were gonna lecture the hell out of them for it.

“ so, who taught them how to use knives? I’m not mad I just wanna know,” you say to both of them. A couple of seconds pass before Kate ends ups talking and outing the blonde as the one who came up with the idea. 

“ Yelena came up with the idea y/n” she blurts out and immediately covers her mouth knowing she’s gotten on the blonde’s bad sides for ratting her out. 

“ Yelena why the fuck would you even teach the dogs how to use knives ?” 

“ For self defense y/n! Why else would i do it?”

“ Yelena Belova, they are DOGS WHY THE FUCK DO THEY NEED KNVIES ?” you tell her and give both of them a lecture on not doing dumb shit again.

Once Clint and Melina show up for dinner, you tell both of them what happened during the time you were gone at the grocery store and enjoy the chaos that happens at Nat and Clint lecture them about why they are both idiots for teaching the dogs how to use knives.

Chaos like this is how you like it with Yelena and Kate and would not change a thing about it.

This was inspired by @ mikeyyyyyyy_ ‘s ig story (pictured under the cut). He’s Mikey Henger on tiktok. We’ve all seen his divine Billy cosplays 🖤

Billy got a new tattoo. He’s no stranger to the needle gun by any means, but he’s wanted hand and neck tattoos for a long time. He finally gave himself the former today.

He abstains from the latter for Steve. Because Steve loves Billy’s throat. He thinks Billy’s skin is beautiful and the guy likes necks, apparently. Billy prided himself on his ass - and, well....everything else - but whatever floats Steve’s boat.

Billy calls him a vamp.

Steve calls him, baby.

So he gets his tattoo, sitting tranquilly in the chair as the artist does her work. Afterwards, blue eyes appraise the latest addition to his collection. Billy already knows everyone is going to assume it’s a crow or a raven. That doesn’t matter.

He sends a picture to Steve.  The reply doesn’t take long:

Want a manicure to go with it?

Billy’s typing as a second message comes through:

What food do you want?

Billy knows where this is going. Steve has his own nail technician who makes house calls. He never gets anything beyond cuticle care, but today Billy felt rejuvenated.

Only if we match. Greek rice plates.

He gets some black hearts sent back to him because Steve’s a romantic and Billy now has a black phoenix flying in his skin.

Steve was...a learning curve. But then again, so was Billy in the beginning. Steve had to let Billy fly, and Billy had to get used to Steve providing a perch for him to land.

A soft bed to land in. A fridge that never emptied. New boots made of loyal leather instead of plastic, and poly gel nails if Billy wanted them.

He didn’t give Billy a job, though. Billy did that on his own. Hair stylist by day, drummer and dj by night, and Billy liked his work. His clients were like him: pissed at the world but knew how to tip, and music had long since become his outlet.

Then he went home to Steve. Both he and the nail technician were waiting; one moving their food out of boxes and onto plates, and the other just finishing up her station for Billy’s hands after he washed them. Steve kissed Billy in the privacy of their kitchen and then cradled the tattooed hand in both of his. “Do you love it?”

“ ‘Course I do. I wouldn’t have it otherwise.”

“I’ve heard hand tattoos swell up a lot. I’ll get an ice pack ready.”

Billy knew there wasn’t much point in telling him no. Steve, still in his work slacks with his pressed shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows, who cared and cared and cared. He cared so damn much.

As Billy sat at the dining table and nail technician began her work, Steve followed in and said, “Whatever he gets, I’ll sit right after him.”

Billy juggled relinquishing his hands, eating, and resting his hand on the ice pack. Soon his nails gleamed with clean, black gel paint.

“Scoot. My turn,” Steve declared almost excitedly. Billy snorted quietly and took the rest of his food to the couch as Steve began his manicure.

Paid and tipped, the technician went on her way and Billy chuckled at Steve marveling at his black nails. “Are your colleagues going to think you’re unprofessional?”

Steve fell onto the couch in such a way that one of his legs draped between Billy’s. He took Billy’s wrist and set the hand on a throw pillow. “You’re gonna fight people off like gnats, the next time they see the sex magnet on the drum set.”

Billy’s other hand squeezed Steve’s knee. “I was thinking of using the electric set to practice tonight.”

Steve didn’t tell him no. Just, “Will your hand be okay?”

Because Steve didn’t have any tattoos. He didn’t think less of them, but he saw them as open wounds every time Billy got another.

“So long as I keep the Second Skin on, yeah.”

Steve insisted on the ice pack until whatever episode finished on the television and Billy went into his music room. Since Steve’s - their - place was technically a condo in the city, Billy got a much more accommodating electric drum set.

Then he played until he sweat. Sweated right through the Second Skin over his tattoo and realized at some point, Steve had dropped off an iced lemonade. Billy drained the glass on his way to the shower. Black globs and flecks rushed down the drain - 

As Steve stepped through the door behind him. “Want an extra pair of hands?”

Billy hummed. “Love some.”

After the initial wash, Billy kept his hand out of the water. Steve washed his hair, knowing very well how Billy liked his scalp touched. And as white suds moved down the drain, wet lips touched Billy’s neck, making him hum again.

“Have you decided on something here, yet?”

“Not yet.”

“I wouldn’t mind, you know.”

“I’m not asking permission. It goes against my nature.”

Steve laughed breathily. “I know. Except for that one thing.”

Billy cocked a brow and looked back at him. “One thing?”

Steve’s eyes rolled. “Yeah, the one thing. Kind of a big deal. At least, I like to think I’m a big deal.”

“You trying to tell me something, Stevie?” Billy crooned, reaching between them for Steve’s half-erect member.

“C-Careful, your ring’s on.”

“ ‘Course it’s on. It’s always on. Never taking it off. It’s in my skin as good as you are.”

Steve’s eyes went hooded and dark, peeking up through his lashes like he was shy. Billy’s hand left his erection to slide along Steve’s neck. His gold band shined through the dark tresses. The same way Steve’s did.

has a matching suit and his red shoes he never takes them off like -

even tried to do his hair like him and put two strands of hair up - failed miserably

his favourite candy are peanut butter cups (i don’t know why, they just are)

got into a fight with Bakugo over his suit and ended up ripping a hole in it

cried the whole night

after that he slammed Bakugou so hard on the wall he left a print of his makeup on it (yes like the Kim and Kourtney Kardashian fight)

Bakugou

didn’t want to go to any Halloween themed event because he thinks they are shit and bot worth his time

was eventually convinced by Kirishima to come after 3 hours of begging

didn’t prepare a costume, but couldn’t let the extras have better ones than his so he did the Tate skeleton makeup (https://images.app.goo.gl/7hW9WgQQyMDgP8V68) by himself

he bragged about it for like an hour (he also looked amazing but that’s a different story)

when he saw Midoriya in his All Might costume, he literally saw red before him

he proceeded to start a fight with “that damn nerd Deku and his stupid costume” just because and ended up ruining his makeup too

Todoroki

didn’t understand the concept of Halloween but was really intrigued by it

be sure he spent about 5 hours on the phone searching for the history of the holiday and costume ideas

didn’t find any costume he liked

until midoriya suggested Zuko since his scar which was perfect bc Shouto loved Zuko (not him going as his biggest kin)

he bought one of the most expensive cosplays, but the wig didn’t fit him

he was the one who instigated the fight between Midoriya and Bakugou 💀

ate too many sweets and ended up spilling his guts in the infirmary

Denki

went as Ghostface but a hot version

had a fancy suit and the mask on his face

was on cloud 9 from all the girls on the internet simping for him and bragged about this for a week straight

was the other one that helped instigate the fight

tried to hit on multiple girls and got rejected everytime

didn’t have inspiration, but also didn’t want to be too much or too little

so she went as a witch

she was one of the prettiest girls at the party in her black dress, spiderweb tights and hat

Jirou did her makeup, while Tsu borrowed her some of her crystals (she also tried to leave a rose quartz in Izuku’s bug if you know what I mean 😏...)

took Todoroki to the infirmary when he got sick

Contrary to popular belief, ghosts are nice, most of the time. Maybe a bit clingy and attention seeker towards you since you are the only one who can see and hear them.

They are a nice company to be around. Most of them.

There was a time you used to hate your quirk, there never seems to be a privacy when you see those supernatural things.

You see things you wish you couldn't, things that can go beyond your imagination.

Everyone thinks the worst in you, and there are days when they get to you.

When that happens, the ghosts always have your back.

You try your best to prove them wrong, and when you got into UA and placed top 5 in the sports festival, some perspective changed, and some called you a freak.

Though they are all wimps since they can't say it directly in your face or around your friends, especially your boyfriend.

Lord knows what'll happen when someone talks shit about you around them.

Shinsou Hitoshi

Straight off the bat, your favourite date, past time, and other couple activities are sleeping.

Him catching up on his well-deserved sleep and you calm your mind from everything.

Nothing in between.

Naps in the couch, beside the window, your rooms, maybe beside the window in the common room after stargazing.

You have to pry this headcanon from my cold dead hands.

This sleepy boi understands the pain and suffering you go through the best, especially since he's been there.

Both of you start as acquaintances.

You met him when your cat decided to give you a heart attack by running off to who knows where and not coming back for h o u r s.

Both of you started eating lunch together at school with the Dekusquad.

It happened almost every day once he transferred from class 1-A.

A month after that Uraraka and Kaminari started teasing the both of you.

It confused you when they made a big deal about you and Shinsou spending more time with each other than the rest of the class.

Reassuring you that you are his hero, muttering sweet things in your ear, stroking your hair to calm you down, and humming you to sleep.

He knows what it feels like to hate something that is apart of you.

And he tries his best to make you see the best in the worst you think of yourself.

Everything about you is beautiful, nothing that is apart of you is worth hating.

Honestly, you couldn't wish for anyone better to be your significant other.

They can call you anything they want, but you will always be an angel in his eyes.

All of them can keep talking, and he finds great pleasure once they see your true power and find themselves speechless.

Bakugou Katsuki:

Not gonna lie, he will probably think that you are a zombie or somewhat related to them.

From the moment you walked through the door, slouched back, droopy red eyes, panda-like eye bags underneath, paper white skin that is unhealthy to look at, he was certain that you are going to collapse at any given moment. 

He scoffed, wondering how the hell you managed to get into UA, let alone the Hero class.

Were you even in the right class or are you just that tired to not see that huge ass sign at the door?

Either way, he didn't care.

So long as you don't stand in his way from being the best, which is highly unlikely to happen in his eyes.

So imagine his shock when you managed to score higher than him in the Physical Assessment Test.

What in the hell?

"Hey, freak bitch! How the hell did you score higher than me?! What are you playing at?!"

Kirishima immediately held him back and apologized profusely to you. 

Bakugou's anger at you only increased when you only stared at him blankly before rolling your eyes and walked away. 

Throughout the rest of the day, whenever he tries to call you or even go near you, he finds himself tripping over nothing or his things randomly dropping.

To say it freaks him out will be an understatement.  

However, that didn't stop him from pestering you. 

Constantly asking yelling- at you demanding your quirk and challenging you for a fight.

You're nonchalant response and sassy remarks only ticked him off.

The two on two activity was useless since you did nothing and Todoroki handled the rest. 

Cue the USJ incident and he is finally satisfied when he saw your quirk at first hand. 

Skeletons rising from the ground and villains mysteriously flying away from you when they get too close to you. 

He immediately put everything together and he is ecstatic. 

An unusual quirk but powerful nonetheless. 

Katsuki finds himself watching you in the classroom and during training. 

Finding your quirk nothing short of weird and curiosity of finding out how you use it is eating him alive.

Sometimes, he catches you talking to yourself and it only makes him more curious. 

And think that you are crazy.

The moment you agreed to challenge him was the beginning of your friendship.

He overheard a few girls that you went to school with talking about your hideous appearance and quirk when walking towards the school for training.

A slight twinge in his heart when he saw you, although your face didn't reveal anything, your eyes sure did. 

He dragged you by the arm to go faster and reassured you in his blunt way.

After that training with Bakugou became a routine.

The Bakusquad saw you both walking out of the park.

You declined their offer of going out saying that you have something to do and Bakugou just saying that he's not interested in going. 

So the teasing of when both of you will make it official happens every. Single. Day.

Be it weekends or weekdays. 

They will not stop their teasing even if they are on the verge of death.

Your bond with Katsuki strengthened when you came to rescue him from the villains and when he failed the Provisional License exams.

You were the first one to notice his change and the first and only one to confront him. 

He was shocked.

He thought he had it hidden well but not to you. 

At first, he was hesitant to tell you anything. But one hug from you and his walls came crashing down.

After that incident, you came to each other to open up.

You told him how you hate your quirk sometimes. Seeing things that gives you nightmares and paranoia.

In a short but somewhat sweet way, he told you about how those fears make you a stronger person. Physically and mentally.

He's by your side no matter what happens, he won't let you go through this alone.

To further emphasize it, he gave you a one arm hug.

He asked you out a few weeks later, quietly and all blushy face which was the first for him. 

Of course you said yes.

You both agreed to keep your relationship a secret from everyone until Halloween where - much to everyone's surprise- he joined in.

The real icing on the cake was when they saw you both in a cliche couple, Harley Quinn and Joker.

Mina and Kirishima were the first ones to realize and Denki being the last.

You are practically inseparable after you relieved your relationship. 

Anyone who talks badly about you and your quirk won't last long in the face of the earth.

Katsuki Bakugou is already explosive enough as he is, and you decided to talk shit about the love of his life?

I hope you crossed everything off your bucket list cause the last thing you will see and hear is the sound of his explosions.
