The Champions from BOTW become so much more heartbreaking when you incorporate TOTK lore, because it makes Revali, Mipha, Urbosa and Daruk the first attempts of the sages to uphold their vows. Seeing that Ganon was rising, seeing that Zelda and Link were born, they chose Champions to fulfil their old vows: the Sage of Wind gave the advantage of height, wondering if such a power would have enabled them to overwhelm Ganon; the Sage of Water gave the strength of healing, wondering if it could have saved Sonia; the Sage of Lightning gave the ability to infuse lighting into your strikes, wondering if the extra strength would have broken through Ganon’s shields; and the Sage of Fire provided the strongest possible protection, wondering if it would have saved Rauru.

They witness their Champions join up with Zelda, their old companion, and Link, to whom they have sworn service.

They see every single Champion succumb to Ganondorf in spite of everything. A century later, as the princess barely holds on and the knight barely wakes up, they choose new gifts for their Champions.

For Tulin, a horizontal gust - allowing for evasion of the fatal wound that took down Revali.

For Sidon, a shield - there is no need to heal if you can prevent wounds in the first place.

For Riju, ranged lightning - it is better to keep the enemy out of melee range.

For Yunobo, a roll - offence is the greatest defence.

Okay but imagine them, like, playing cards on a two-person mission with a long travel time when Rutherford is like, "this is fun. We should hang out more often," and Mariner is like, "dude, what are you talking about? We hang out all the time," and Rutherford is like, "we hang out together with our other friends, but we don't really hang out with each other on our own. Got any threes?"

Mariner would freak out because "you and your friend aren't as close as you thought" isn't a problem she knows how to handle. Rutherford wouldn't pick up on why Mariner started acting so weird all of a sudden. Their shuttle would crash. There would be tender conversations about feelings. Someone write this please.

I think it would be funny if in season 2 it becomes a running gag of Vox sending spies to the hotel who just end up captured into the net of found family and friendship and become part of the clientele and Vox doesn’t get why he keeps losing contact with them (and assumes Alastor probably killed them) until one day Charlie comes to personally thank him for bringing her so many souls for rehabilitation and for believing in her cause and Vox just. Doesn’t know what is happening. And short circuits.
