I do think one circumstance in which Mydei would let Phainon fuck his wife (gn) is like. On a leash, figuratively or even literally lgmsnks. And it's not that Mydei is all that domineering, he really isn't. He's already wary of Phainon fucking him because he's so chaotic but with Mydei's most precious treasure? Oh he better be on his BEST behavior.
Because the thing is if you think Mydei is touchstarved - and he is, no doubt, Hephaestion was the last lover he had - Phainon is ten, a hundred times worse. Mydei has discipline and restraint and is ever conscious of his strength, and in this case is in an established relationship. Has had an established relationship before.
Phainon has nothing and no one but his destiny and frankly cannot be trusted to be unleashed in the bedroom. He's too excited, too eager, too enthusiastic to try all these things he's only ever imagined and
And it probably ends in either tears for Phainon from overstimulation or bickering between him and Mydei who's maybe being nitpicky and micro-managing according the Deliverer.

daily koss #18: guy who totally doesn’t have deranged kinks due to unresolved issues he really should work through … bsky
Trying to do the ‘post-war redemption (-ish) arc relationship thing’ means indulging your (ugh) (shudder) (gag) partner when he calls in a ‘weird interface favour.’ Sadly, you are less dense about his feelings than you used to be. What the frag was all that about?! (…Maybe you’ll admit it felt good in the moment, though.)

AND ANOTHER THING
this episode, despite not having the laughable plot points from 2x03, has run into some irreconcilable issues with the source material, but not in the typical "this event didn't happen in the text" way, but in the "these themes are in direct conflict with everything asoiaf stands for" way.
asoiaf sets itself apart from most fantasy because, in a genre chalk full of stories with divine, predetermined heroes destined to save the world, kings-to-be whose causes were always righteous and whose wars were always glorious, decided to flip the script. grrm wanted a story where no one's actions could be excused by vague notions of serving the "greater good", where divine purpose and prophecy held little weight compared to the very real damage done to actual people, because at the end of the day, nothing can justify the violence inflicted onto innocents in these endless quests for power.
the dance of dragons is a very easy story to comprehend when the rose-tinted glasses this fandom insists on seeing the Targaryens through are removed. it's about two siblings growing up in a time of peace and prosperity, going to war over daddy's throne, and everyone either dying or becoming a hollow husk of who they used to be. thats it. thats what war does. it kills you, or strips your humanity away bit by bit till you're hardly recognizable as a human and might as well be dead anyways. if there is one theme grrm wants readers to walk away with, it is that the price of war is NEVER one worth paying. I'm sure Rhaenyra thought that, sitting on the throne, haunted by the ghosts of her dead sons, and I'm sure Aegon II thought that, to broken to even climb the stairs of the IT, wishing only for his brothers, and sister, and children back.
while having Rhaenyra only willing to go to war over something "more than a crown" certainly paints her in a noble light, introducing a catch all justification for anything she does going forward to place herself on the IT is ridiculous. hotd essentially saying Rhaenyra actually HAD to go to war to save the realm from certain destruction years down the line because she was gifted special knowledge of her ancestor Aegon the Conqueror's prophecy (the Song of Ice and Fire *eye roll*) is a level of propaganda the "biased maesters" of f&b could only dream of.

That breakroom gossip comic was so fun! Do the little reapers have any more fun stuff to share? Loved getting to see their “releaxed” escapades during the holiday update 😂

[Holiday Update]
Uses this as an excuse to airdrops a whole legend we didn't have time to dip into last time in here
As usual, many thanks to @alagaesia-overlord for letting me borrow her OC Strix and also for co-writing the script!

Somehow I get the impression that even if Angel knew that Faith body-swapped with Buffy, he would be angrier about Faith coming-onto Spike while in Buffy’s body more than anything else.
#the writers on angel the series were so wrong for dancing around the body-swapping and never actually saying what faith really did to buffy#which just further solidifies (to me) how terrible angel was to buffy about the whole body swapping thing that FAITH did#faith deserved a full season of character exploration on ats (NOT btvs) that would have been sssoooo interesting but instead we got crumbs#anti angel#anti bangel#anti faith#anti faith lehane#btvs#ats#angel the series#buffy the vampire slayer#buffy summers#spike btvs#btvs meta#ats meta#five by five#faith intentionally took buffy’s body by force while having every intention to keep it permanently and do whatever she wanted with it#meanwhile she was fully aware that buffy would suffer for the consequences of all of faith’s actions in faith’s body and faith didn’t gaf#that is violation to the utmost degree. buffy should have been angrier. riley should have been angrier. angel should have been angrier.#cordy should have been angrier. wesley should have been angrier. joyce and giles and the scoobies should have been angrier.#EVERYONE should have been angrier#but the writers weren’t even able to allow angel to actually find out what REALLY HAPPENED and what faith ACTUALLY DID#angel had no right to forgive faith for that. it wasn’t his body. it was never his right to forgive her for any of it.#instead ats just boiled it down to ‘‘faith slept with buffy’s bf’’ as if THAT was the crux of her wrongdoings#then it turns into messy relationship jealousy that doesn’t make any sense for buffy or angel as characters at this point#so far i hate how ats writes buffy#sorry for the tangent#tagging this anti faith cuz i go off on her ass in the tags but i truly wish she got way more eps on angel the series exploring her#the writers were so wrong for having angel say he knew everything when he in fact did not and they were well aware

I enjoy Sonadilver in theory but I'm not a fan of the obvious Shadow bias between Sonic and Silver in some spaces. There's never enough of Sonic and Silver being each others' boyfriends as well as Shadow's 😔

Lordy I feel you wrt to Dragon Age craziness -- the last few days I've been chewing on the walls wondering what Mythal's reckoning, the reckoning that apparently would've "shake[n] the very heavens" was supposed to entail. What would that have looked like???? I guess we'll never know!!!!
Real. You can't have Flemeth scream "she was betrayed, as I was betrayed, as the world was betrayed" and not only avoid elaborating but make it seem so ? inconsequential.
Veilguard is all about characters succeeding where their mirror/foil/counterpart failed, I get that, but making Morrigan an exception to Mythal's influence was so silly.
Let me get this straight. Mythal's will was strong enough to bind Solas to her service. Strong enough to make Flemeth devote her existence to vengeance. But motherly love protected Morrigan. She's just. Completely unaffected. Like what do you meannnn. 😩

the thing about kon's relationships is that, despite how much posturing he does about being a flirt and a ladies' man, he has only ever had three (3) relationships, two of which were with adult women who groomed and preyed on him, and the third was with a closeted lesbian who mistook her gender envy as attraction to him.
(to cassie, kon is literally the boy from the posters on her bedroom wall. she sets up that crush before she ever meets him, and by the time the two of them get together, he's already got the idea that relationships = a woman gives him a box to fit into and he does his very best to stay in it so he can prove he's good enough for her. this isn't cassie's fault by any means, but like, it's no wonder they break up and both immediately seem relieved about it, yknow?)
even when other people flirt with him, like when serling tries to ask him out, he turns her down because he's not in a space where he feels like he can be in a relationship. he's not actually the horndog and total flirt he pretends he is. i would posit that he just learned "this is how teenage boys are supposed to act" from all the media and pop culture downloaded into his head. that was the only standard or cultural context he had. it's how he tried to socialize in hawaii when he went to high school, too. he didn't know how to act beyond being a tv personality.
anyways, what i'm getting at is that i will never be convinced this guy has ever actually experienced attraction to a woman. it's posturing and comp het all the way down, babey. kon-el is a demisexual gay man, and in this essay i will

A Simple Mistake
(A little drabble based on a YouTube short I watched by brittanyrcoates, captions from the video at the end)
“Sorry I’m late, traffic was crazy.”
Sidekick swung open the door with a careless push. The metal creaked and groaned in response as they swept into the room. They spotted their mentor standing in shadow peering out the window, so they quickly approached to get a hold of the situation. They scanned outside the window, locating what they presumed to be the target easily; a figure partially concealed on the opposite rooftop.
It matched what the hero had sent in their summons. Meet at the old textile plant, new info places Villain on the rooftop across after 4.
“Is that him? Is that the villain?” They questioned while practically pressed against the glass. They didn’t want to risk taking their eyes off him for even a second, lest he take the opportunity to slip away and disappear. Like he usually did.
“No,” their mentor spoke, and it startled Sidekick enough that they started to turn around. “That would be me.”
A heavy hand landed on their shoulder as their eyes widened in pure horror.
Belatedly, Sidekick realized their mistake. Info placing Villain at the textile plant, meet on the rooftop.
“I guess I know who’s on the roof, then.”
Sidekick swallowed. Hard.
Villain leisurely glanced out the windows, framed with rusted and flaking metal. Sidekick stood stiff and darted their eyes around the abandoned room.
Unable to protest, they were pulled deeper into the plant and further into the darkness by the very same villain they were meant to be spying on.
Next time, they would be sure to read much more carefully.
(Video captions: The new sidekick arriving late and going to the wrong location/“Is that the villain?”/“No, I’m the villain.”/Before realizing they’re standing beside the villain they were sent to spy on/*realizing their mistake*/“shhhh.”)
