And another thing...
Korean news media hyping how BTS has continued to release content with no gap even while enlisted in the military.
Yonhap News.
KBS News.
"Is this BTS' military service?" astounded, like... what kind of military service is this where the members are still active while they are enlisted??
They've even coined a new term to describe it: Rubber Shoe Content.
Apparently this sort of thing has not been done before, at least not to this extent, when an idol group is on break fulfilling their military obligation and release things for the fans while they are away.
"They are creating a new activity model to fill the gap with so-called 'rubber shoe content' for fans waiting for BTS, from music videos and entertainment documentary films to offline events."
The planning that had to have occurred and length of time it took for all of this to be produced... BTS and their staff, along with their agency BigHit and the resources available to them via Hybe, were able to carry out this extensive effort so that we would continually have things to look forward to while they are away. They worked hard before enlisting for us.
And we know more is coming! Wait until K-news sees Jimin and Jungkook doing MMA in their sleep!!

It always makes me so sad when I see people complain about the lack of interesting tv shows these days like.... brother there is 4 decades worth of actually incredible and fun tv shows if you only dared open your eyes and look beyond the confinement of netflix...
I will add I totally understand it's also a Taste™ and Interest™ thing and that it may just boil down to a Special Interest™ thing but... just consider... The world is filled with SO many tv shows and they're all at your finger tips all you gotta do is dare reach out and touch the stars

Love (cannot emphasis how much sarcasm there is in that word) that an official Canadian government response to high cellphone rates is to switch carriers.
Switch it to what? We basically have three companies since one was allowed to eat the forth (with the government saying it wasn't anti-competition and the company eating the other pinky promising they wouldn't jack rates up). Even the smaller companies have to rent infrastructure from the Big Three so there's only so much they can do if that rent costs an arm and a leg.
And that's not touching on how many "small companies" are actually just subsidiaries of the Big Three. You may save $5 but you're still with Telus/Rogers/Bell.
Or that the actual small companies tend to have shit coverage because they don't have the infrastructure available to them and are prevented from getting it. Or their traffic is throttled in favour of the Big Three's customers. Or both.
Or that they're extremely regional thus aren't an option for a huge chunk of Canada's population.
We have no true options and the government has shown time and again that they're fine with monopolies, in multiple industries, and don't care when said monopolies jack up prices to make shareholders and the c-suite more money at the expense of everyone else. At most there will be a verbal slap on the wrist and a giftcard for $25 that people have to register for, for a decade and a half of price gouging.
It's not talked a whole lot about outside the country from what I've seen and heard but Canada is a country of monopolies. A handful of companies own nearly everything, every province has a family or two that owns a hell of a lot (Nova Scotia is basically owned by one family at this point), and our government ignores it. Even the branch that is supposed to be against monopolies is fine with mergers and takeovers in most cases.
Because, you know, the company said it totally wouldn't use consumers' lack of options to increase prices.

max and i are closing in on launching [redacted sports rpf charity fest] and i am once again pondering how do i write "experience with writing form emails and manipulating google forms in ways no one has dreamed of" in a cover letter without saying "i did it for the rpf grind"...like there's no way unless everyone in this microsoft teams meeting gets really cool about a bunch of stuff really quickly. you know

Local libraries getting rid of physical medias such as newspapers, magazines, cds, dvds, and audiobooks is turning experiencing art into a privilege instead of a right but I don't think you guys are ready for that conversation

At long last, we are now trembling on the precipice of having fast internet -- a mere 2+years after they laid the cable to our fenceline, apparently just to taunt me, because after that it took more than a year for any internet provider to admit that we had access to high-speed internet. Once we finally found a provider willing to face reality, they then dicked us around for 5 months about completing the last ~2' of the cable that actually connects to the house. But today that connection was completed, so sometime soon communications at Over Hartside will be catapulted into the late 20th century.

I don't remember what stuff I downloaded or what settings I disabled but I don't get any of those tumblr notifications 😆
Ooh, that sounds ideal tbh :'D I could get used to following more people if I wasn't constantly reminded how many posts I haven't seen. And my God, I wish I figured out how to get this on my phone - I have ALL notifications off but no matter how many tutorials I go through, I cannot get rid of those tiny little numbers next to the app icons. Not just for Tumblr but for everything, I don't want to see how many unread e-mails I have, how many messages I haven't checked, I want to check all these things on my terms at time of my choosing, will we be ever free from these constant reminders how avoidant we've become due to the hyperconectivity of our time-

psst hey @dxppercxdxver and I have sent these two off to a different second war from the one they're already involved in and entered them in the @tf2shipswag oc tournament!
yes we have been posting these men since march but also not in a way where anything gets explained, so I shall say again the things that I said when sending them to the tournament, which are as follows: here’s some guys a little too over their heads in honor and duty and justice! here’s some guys over-fond of burning bridges and running from their responsibilities suddenly faced with things like the massive Group Projects that are both war and romance! here’s some guys that sword-fight and shoot gun real good! here’s some guys that sleep in alternating four-hour blocks because they come in a set like particularly scrungly pair-bonded cats! here’s some guys that go from biting each other (angry rivalry) to biting each other (romantical)!

Would you guys be interested in an art discord server with me? Specifically, i’ve been given the idea every now and then to run my own discord server where i get to just focus on sharing my art, especially making it like. Patron/kofi-member accessed for at least some channels
Have you guys been a part of discord servers like these that are focusing on other people’s art? Have you been a part of discord servers that are paid access?? Do you have suggestions etc? Or dislikes?
Ive been thinking that maybe I can use it as a place to 1) host art streams (since my internet lags heavily on picarto & twitch, but not discord), 2) show off wips in real time instead of having to choose between tumblr, twitter, insta, tiktok, etc) at the very least
For maybe $3-5 a month, what would YOU want to see as paid options, or what would you be willing to pay for?

You guys thank you so much you've made me so happy today with your responses to my post! I've been randomly running around hyperactively giggling whenever I've looked at y'all's reblogs and replies- my service dog is very concerned. Stitch is like "you're more excited than normal" and I'm like buddy I'm fine stop jumping on me it's not a panic attack for once I'm just happy. Side note, but have yall ever stubbed your toe with a service dog trained to jump on you and alert when you're in medical distress? Because if I stub my toe and fall he's like "it's an emergency!!! I'm helping I'm helping!" And I'm like buddy no I'm fine I just stubbed my toe- and he's like "I'll fix it I love you I'll help you feel better!" And it inevitably turns into a cuddle fest whenever I fall accidentally and it's not actually an emergency lol. Anyways Stitch the service dog has even noticed that the difference- I'm so grateful for you. I'm blessed to get to know you thank you so much. And Stitch says hi, he loves you too :)
