I can't understand people who love this show or books but hate any of the "main characters" (mostly anyone from the shows main 4 characters, Louis, lestat, Armand and Daniel)
like yeah all of the have flaws, but they also have qualities for redemption
honestly I think watching the show or reading the books with that hatred for any of the characters or the ships must be miserable and sad
seeing the constant discourse (mainly on Twitter) of whose better or worse according to arguments without any kind of nuance make me mad
like why don't you focus on what you like instead of what you don't
I also hate the mischaracterization of some of the characters in this fandom, especially the one on complex characters like Armand or Lestat
And especially why do you talk shit about the actors who have done nothing but give their whole souls and energy to this project, who really don't deserve your negativity and hate

Oh for fuck’s sake, I haven’t even seen most of the shows that tumblr posts those little cast interviews for, but every goddamn time there’s a fan submitted question to the actors of ‘have you read any fanfiction about your characters?’ STOP THAT
Do NOT drag actors and other celebrities into fandom, do not ask them to validate your shipping opinions, do not show them erotic fanworks based on their likeness, respect the fucking boundary and understand that those people are just doing their goddamn job.
They are not the characters they portray, do not treat them as such!!!!

But that's just the thing! The question of why lestat participated is (to me) the Crux of season 1 and 2 and when answered in season 3 (and I'm sure they will touch upon this part again), what we see will be the make it or break it for the show lestat.
The answer will either satisfy the audience or manage to completely drive away all book fans and lose (some) fans and stay with...significantly less.
Here's the thing. This isn't about stans or fan favorites or ship wars.
This is the core theme of interview with a vampire. It's the one thing that bonds louis and lestat for the rest of the chronicles it's perhaps THE reason they end up together in the end. Because they both had a child together, they loved her and they both had to survive her death and they grieve her together after all these years.
That's what iwtv is supposed to be. If the answer to his participation is "well he could have stopped it at any time but he chose not to cause he was still kinda pissed they killed him, or he only cared about louis and then changed his mind and felt bad about claudia too then sorry that's not iwtv, the vampire lestat the VC chronicles. The heart of the chronicles was this grief.
And not everyone has to like lestat but if they want the show to continue its vital to actually keep the core of the character and even elevate them when possible like they did with louis! Lestat-claudia-louis is at the heart of it, as the family unit. There was love there and it ended tragically.
I just don't think some fans understand how important this topic will be for the overall life span of the show. It's important that the love and grief of two parents who failed their child but loved her is shown, so the story can move forward. Otherwise how does louis forgive lestat? Why doesn't he blame him? How will louis reconcile with himself and with lestat if he ends up with the man who willingly burned his daughter? Or was willing to see hee burned
How do we go from "rehearsed a play that burned your daughter alive" to "it's not on you?"
Sorry to unload all this on you, but I have a lot of thoughts on this and my friends have not watched the show so I've no one to talk this with but I'd very much appreciate if you chose to post this (but you ofc don't have to!)
good point about how most of the viewers want to see Lestat. As the central character of TVC, he can’t be vilified too much I suppose. And interesting thoughts about grief, I don’t think about it much, but I’ve heard that Anne Rice started this whole thing as a way to cope.

No offense, but how do you feel about Louis? I see you talk about several characters, but I don't see mentions of him. Do you hate him? Which it's okay if you do, I'm just asking out of curiosity, really.
Not taken! So, I ABSOLUTELY love show Louis, he's one of my favorite characters EVER, on any media I've seen. Period. I give a lot of credits to Rolin and EVEN MORE TO JACOB ANDERSON, the work he does is simply phenomenal and gets better every episode as the finest wine.
On the other hand, book Louis, I just feel very neutral about him. With a lot of characters on the chronicles, I need to ignore some stuff to sympathize with them, but while I'm able to love Armand, Lestat, Petronia etc, Louis doesn't have a lot of effect on me. I understand he is someone you should care about and objectively I root for him, because he is one of the biggest characters, but I'm indifferent? While I'm able to be devastated with Armand and Lestat, cry with laughter with Pandora (specially when she's with Flavius), be intrigued and curious about Petronia and wishing I'd learned more about them... For better or for worse, I don't have any major feelings about him. I don't love him and I don't hate him. At least not right now, but I'm early into Blood Communion and still have Interview With the Vampire to go. There's still time for him to grow on me. For example, Pandora and Maharet grew so much to the point of being favorites of mine. We'll see.
I talk about him sometimes (specially his show counterpart), but for the past months I've ended up talking more about everybody else because I've been COMMITTED to reading the books. I decided to do so because I wanted to understand the fandom discourse and have my own opinions and conclusions, since I see a lot of conflicting, contradictory, paradoxical and overall confusing comments and I had to see it for myself. And I'm glad I have, because I've changed my mind about a LOT of stuff. It's sort of how I didn't tweet that much about Fake Rashid, but fell in love with Armand on season 2 (ALL five are tied as my faves on the show and on my top characters of all time, btw). Anyway, once I'm done with the chronicles, I'll watch the show again and write a lot about my thoughts and feelings about this universe, including Louis. Don't worry! :)

i just remembered that i wrote the first 3 paragraphs of an iwtv fic right after the finale, but what i Do Not remember is what the rest of the plot was supposed to be, so i'm just sticking it here, completely unedited, for your viewing enjoyment. or viewing non-enjoyment, as the case may be:
Louis didn't mean to introduce Lestat to Daniel Molloy — if anything, he intended the opposite, tactfully avoiding the subject of each in the other's presence, not because he was afraid of what Lestat might say about their time together, but the because the thought of the pair of them in the same room gives him the type of headache that immortality was supposed to make impossible. When Lestat made it through the whole of the audiobook of Daniel's Interview with the Vampire — he didn't have any more patience for reading physical books than he had when they'd been together — without asking for a meeting, he figured he was in the clear. Which was stupid of him, because in focusing on Lestat, he'd forgotten about the other side of the equation. Daniel called him often enough, to ask after Armand or nag him about a sequel or ask about the mechanics of vampirism or just to tell him about some asshole he'd run into in the Arby's parking lot the other day. It's annoying, but also kind of nice. Louis' been married twice and had (and lost) a daughter but he hadn't had a friend since he was a mortal man. So he talks to Daniel all the time and every few weeks he or Lestat will fly out to see each other, and of course it's only a matter of time before they overlap. It happens in the Dubai penthouse. Lestat's been there three days by that point, lounging around and practicing for the tour that is, apparently, an actual thing that is happening and not just a product of his half-starved imagination. He's freshly groomed, his own army of hair product's crowded next to Louis' in the bathroom; changed out of his ratty robe and into a clean button-down shirt and slacks — more subdued than his usual (or what had been his usual, eight decades ago), and the worry niggles in Louis' head, remembering how his own wardrobe had faded in his years with Armand, colours and patterns leeching to a litany of flat black. (He'd replaced it all while Armand dug up the magnolia tree and whatever happened between him and Daniel, well, happened, come back to the penthouse hours later when he was sure he was gone and tossed out any trace of their life together save the concrete detritus strewn across the floor).

when bunny happens to find scraps of old magazines or prints she was on, even if it’s pretty torn up, she still tries to salvage it. most of the time the paper disintegrates in her hands, but sometimes she’s able save the picture of herself. she’s not sure why she does it. she’s not sure if it’s some innately selfish desire, some kind of nostalgia, or perhaps it’s just something to ground herself to. this was her, at one point. and maybe it still is. or maybe not.

How to Write Heartfelt Thank You Notes
Pinterest Facebook Mail Reddit Threads It is not only common etiquette to send a thank you card, it is just rude not to. Expressing gratitude through a heartfelt note demonstrates your acknowledgment of the effort someone has made on your behalf. If someone takes time to give you a gift, their time, or support, you must show gratitude for their thoughtfulness; this act not only strengthens…

🟢 If your interviewer likes you, they're going to hire you.
🔴 If they don't like you, they won't hire you.
👉👉 Likeability is the rarest commodity there is.
🔵 During an interview, you assume your interviewer is asking questions about your skills, abilities, and background; they're not. They're asking you questions to determine if they like you.
🟣 Then you hear, "We hired someone whose skills, qualifications, and background more closely match what we're looking for," and think you weren't qualified enough for the job. So, you decide to return to school for another degree or certification to "upskill."
💯 You were qualified (Employers don't schedule interviews with candidates who aren't qualified.); you just weren't likeable.
